Dramatic DDT

The DDT summer tradition is here! Beer Garden Week is a week long series of shows held every year in Shin-kiba 1st Ring. Each show is produced and booked by a different wrestler or stable in DDT. This leads to a variety of crazy matches and ideas. There is also plenty of beer and food served to the fans during the show. So let’s have a look at what’s on offer this year.

One of the highlights of Beer Garden every year is Hisaya Imabayashi visiting the area to tell ghost stories to the wrestlers. Last year had a few duds due to tiredness so here’s hoping this year will bring plenty of scares.

A 6-man mini tournament is being held and the winner will be added to the evening DDT show. The entrants are Kazusada Higuchi, Shunma Katsumata, Suguru Miyatake, Ryota Nakatsu, Kota Umeda, Kouki Iwasaki and Dai Suzuki. Two of the wrestlers will receive byes to the semi finals.

T2Hide is bringing a lot of international flavour to this year’s Beer Garden. We got some old “gaijin” returning like Louis Takanashi XIV from France (with his Death Cake no doubt) and Italy’s own Sasaki And Gabbana.

Kazuki Hirata has his own fitness DVD now available on DDT’s online store. But this has created a conflict with another fitness enthusiast, Seiya Morohashi. The go to battle on the day the DVD is launched.

Songs by Tomoyasu Hotei and B’z will alternate during the main event. Danshoku Dino can only win during Hoeti songs while Ken Ohka can only win during B’z songs.

Some weird “Mixed Martial Arts” competition takes place here, except each competitor represents a cultural art. Masa Takanashi represents Shogi writing, Yuko Miyamoto competes as a former student council president, Sambo Oishi fights for newspapers and Gota Ihashi has the backing of society’s pottery section.

As always a fan drawn 6-Man Tag draws the series to a close. The two teams will be determined by a lottery with each pick chosen by a random member of the audience. This is also the final show before “RYOGOKU PETER PAN 2015”.
