DDT is headlined with the KO-D Tag Team Title match. With the Interim KO-D Openweight Title around his waist, Antonio Honda now has to focus on keeping his Tag Team Championship with Daisuke Sasaki against the duo of MIKAMI & Onryo. The Umemura Personal Computer School Offer Match returns with Danshoku Dino facing Kenny Omega. Dino defeated Omega’s BFF Kota Ibushi back in December. Can he make it two for two against the Golden Lovers? Speaking of Ibushi, he will be teaming with HARASHIMA and the junior Jr. Heavyweight Mr. #6 to take on the rotten Shit Heart ♥ Foundation.

When DDT is finished, Union will step in for their show with Shuji Ishikawa and Shigehiro Irie squaring off in the main event. Irie pinned Ishikawa in the main event of Union’s 3rd December show and is confident he will do it again. Matches #3 and #4 features talent from the Spotiva Entertainment promotion. Yasu Kubota & Hide Kubota have wrestled in DDT in the past. Nori da Funky Shibire-sasu meanwhile is a part time wrestler who is also member of the Hip Hop group nobodyknows+. The two teams for match #3 will be decided by a lottery on the day of the show. It may even lead to the men teaming up to fight the women. Looks like Shinichiro Tominaga is going to be facing a lot of well known names in the near future. Before he goes to wrestle Tigers Mask next month he’ll have to face El Samurai in Nagoya. The opener will be Union Vs New Beijing and yes, the lovely Princess Makoto will be in the corner of the Beijing boys.

Osaka Minami Move On Arena

1. New Year Lottery Battle Royal: Contestants So Far – Hideki Shiota

6. Kota Ibushi & Kenny Omega Vs Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie
7. Antonio Honda, Daisuke Sasaki & Hikaru Sato Vs Takao Soma, Michael Nakazawa & Tomimitsu Matsunaga

Looks like Hikaru Sato has been kicked out of the Shit Heart ♥ Foundation. The group was taken over by Takao Soma when he turned heel at “NON-FIX 12.1“. Danshoku Dino will be trying to make his own version of the MEN’s Club work by teaming with Makoto Oishi again. Last time round Oishi wasn’t so positive about the idea. It’s been a while since I’ve seen MIYAWAKI wrestle. Will the scream of “Death Penalty” be echoed in the Move On Arena?

The dark spirit Onryo of FMW fame popped into DDT a couple of days ago to team with MIKAMI. Now they have a shot at the KO-D Tag Team Champions Antonio Honda & Daisuke Sasaki, aka FROM THE NORTHERN COUNTRY. Maybe MIKAMI will turn into something like Onryo to help them win the belts. You can bet Mr. #6 hasn’t forgotten about the time when the Shit Heart ♥ Foundation won the Trios Triple Crown from him a few months back. Hell hath no fury like an 8 year old scorned.

DDT Schedule For November

November 16, 2010

A full report on DDT’s Osaka card is now posted.

DDT “NON-FIX 11.17”, 17.11.2010
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Young Drama Cup: Rion Mizuki (0) Vs Kazuki Hirata (2)
2. Young Drama Cup: Shigehiro Irie (6) Vs Yukihiro Abe (3)
3. Young Drama Cup: Takao Soma (6) Vs Keisuke Ishii (7)
4. Michael Nakazawa Vs The Great Kojika
5. Antonio Honda & Daisuke Sasaki Vs MIKAMI & Hoshitango
6. Hikaru Sato & Tomimitsu Matsunaga Vs Dick Togo & Yasu Urano

Young Drama Cup Standings

1. Keisuke Ishii (7)
2. Shigehiro Irie (6)
3. Takao Soma (6)
4. Yukihiro Abe (3)
5. Kazuki Hirata (2)
6. Rion Mizuki (0)

This is the final set of matches in the Young Drama Cup before the grand final. The top two wrestlers in the Young Drama Cup go through to the final. I think DDT is using the “direct confrontation” rule where if there is a tie between two wrestlers, the result from their previous tournament match decides who finishes on top. If that is the case then Shigehiro Irie has already qualified for the final and Takao Soma Vs Keisuke Ishii will be for the other spot. However a draw between Soma and Ishii will mean both wrestlers qualify for the final and their rematch will be for the Cup. To use a rugby term, Rion Mizuki and Kazuki Hirata are fighting over who gets the Wooden Spoon.

DDT “GOD BLESS DDT 2010”, 28.11.2010
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

4. KO-D Openweight Title: Hikaru Sato (c) Vs Dick Togo

Yoshiaki Yago will take on Akira Shoji at SMASH.10 over in JCB Hall on 22nd November. Ken Ohka will likely be accompanying Yago at the show.

Hikaru Sato is the brand new KO-D Openweight Champion after a whirlwind period that saw his value grow higher and higher. Along with finishing second in the DDT48 Election, a shocking win over Kota Ibushi earned him a shot at HARASHIMA. Sato did to the champion what he did to Ibushi and that was rip his God damn arm off! The build up running up to the show was focused on Hikaru Sato. A video promo had Sato ask himself “What do I dream about? My dream wrestling match.” He came out to new theme music (“Electro World” by Perfume) and was showered in paper streamers from the Osaka fans. He was even accompanied by both the members of the Shit Heart ♥ Foundation and the former Belt Hunter X Hunter stables. HARASHIMA was accompanied by his fellow DISASTER-BOX teammates. Sato targeted the arm with Cross Armbreakers, a Keylock and Triangle Chokes including one hanging from the ropes. After 21 minutes, the Cross Armbreaker was too much for HARASHIMA to take and Yukinori Matsui had to call for the match to end. Afterwards, Sato told the fans  that his victory “…was a dream of mine. It was a dream for everyone!” He admitted that he will still be a fool from time to time and hoped that fans will continue to support him in DDT and also wrestling in Osaka in general. After his speech, Sato called Dick Togo to the ring in order to say he is prepared for their match on the 28th November. Togo congratulated the new champion but said he will let his actions in the ring do all the talking.

The Golden Lovers no longer have to worry about Apollo 55 chasing after their IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Championships for now. Kota Ibushi pinned Ryusuke Taguchi with the Phoenix Splash in a turbo paced title match that went full speed from the beginning. The Lovers’ next challengers look to be Gedo & Jado and there is no love lost between these two teams.

Antonio Honda & Daisuke Sasaki won the KO-D Tag Team Championships from the Butt Samurai team of Shiro Koshinaka & Danshoku Dino. Honda & Sasaki stole the belts from Dino during the Shin-Kiba 1st RING 5th Anniversary show. The plot was created by Honda to get revenge on Dino for a traumatising event that happened when the two shared an apartment together two years ago. What happened was one day Honda brought home a pudding that he was saving for later and he left it in the fridge. He even labelled the pudding so Dino would know it was for Honda. However, while Antonio was taking a bath, Dino became hungry and found the pudding in the fridge. He never noticed the label and ate the entire pudding. When Honda found out he tried not to get upset about it. However, as each day passed Honda’s anger grew like thorns stabbing in his heart until it finally reached it’s breaking point. So Honda joined up with his “true friend” Daisuke Sasaki to plan his revenge. They stole the belts, got Dino to accept their challenge for a title match and, most gratifying of all, Honda pinned Dino to win the belts. However, Honda & Sasaki already have a target on their backs. GENTARO & Yasu Urano challenged them to a title match for 28th November. DDT GM Tsurumi Amon accepted their request so the match is set for Korakuen Hall.

Dick Togo, GENTARO & Yasu Urano are now together as a stable. Yasu was seen with a t-shirt wrapped around his waist that said GRANMA. That might be the name of the new stable.

Sanshiro Takagi & Yoshiaki Yago teamed up for what was supposed to be a three match series in a bid to get rid of Yago’s ring rust aswell as to patch things up between the two before Takagi leaves for Union. In all three matches, Sanshiro accidentaly clocked Yago with a Clothesline that would lead to the team losing to the Suicide Boyz, the former Nuru Nuru Brothers and Toru Owashi & Hideki Shiota. A surprise fourth match then took place as Tsurumi Amon invited Takaku Fuke & Kuishinbo Kamen from Osaka Pro to take part in the series. Takagi once again Clotheslined Yago by accident but this time Yago avoided being pinned and trapped Kuishinbo in the Cobra Twist to finally win a match.

Yukihiro Abe’s cosplay for the day was from the anime series “K-On!

7. KO-D Tag Team Title: Shiro Koshinaka & Danshoku Dino (c) defeated MIKAMI & Tanomusaku Toba when Koshinaka pinned MIKAMI with the Power Bomb (14:31).
*V2 for Koshinaka & Dino.

Two successful defences against two of DDT’s top tag teams. Danshoku Dino & Shiro Koshinaka are doing very well at the moment. Plus Dino has the KO-D Openweight Title match with HARASHIMA coming up, so he could end up carrying most of the gold in DDT.

The Nunchucks & Nunchucks Board Death Match was presented like a Lighttube Deathmatch you would see in Big Japan. There were loads of nunchucks and coathangers hanging from the ropes, large boards resting in the corner with nunchucks stuck to them and spots where the items were piled up and the wrestlers were slammed onto them. This was a rematch to a similar contest between Hiroki and Chiharu from last year, which Hiroki also won by KO. Sanshiro Takagi was the referee for the bout.

Futoshi Miwa is now wearing proper wrestling gear, a fluorescent green one strap singlet. Still overweight though.

0. Antonio Honda Vs Kazuki Hirata
1. Dick Togo & GENTARO Vs KUDO & Yasu Urano
2. Trial Unit Gauntlet Match: MIKAMI & Tanomusaku Toba Vs Shigehiro Irie & Hoshitango Vs Rion Mizuki & Takao Soma Vs Keisuke Ishii & Yukihiro Abe
3. Michael Nakazawa, Hikaru Sato & Tomimitsu Matsunaga Vs Great Kojika, Emi Sakura & Ultraman Robin
4. Muscle Sakai DDT Last Match: Sanshiro Takagi Vs Muscle Sakai
5. Special Singles Match: Kota Ibushi Vs Daisuke Sasaki
6. KO-D Tag Team Title: Shiro Koshinaka & Danshoku Dino (c) Vs HARASHIMA & Toru Owashi

A pretty busy card for Korakuen Hall. The KO-D Tag Team Championships take the headline spot with Shiro Koshinaka & Danshoku Dino facing Disaster-BOX duo HARASHIMA & Toru Owashi. The result of this match might help determine the next challenger for HARASHIMA’s KO-D Openweight Title or even Dino’s DDT Extreme Title.

Kota Ibushi makes his return to the ring facing off against Daisuke Sasaki. Ibushi’s return from injury was spoiled by YOSHIHIKO at last week’s Camping Ground event. Here, Sasaki can add salt to the wounds with a major victory over the Golden Star that would springboard him back into title contention.

The last days of Muscle Sakai wrestling before his retirement now leads to his final match for the DDT brand against Sanshiro Takagi. While his retirement show won’t take place until a forthnight later, it will still be an emotional match for everyone involved.

The Shit Heart ♥ Foundation marks its first match as a group by taking on the random squad of the Great Kojika from Big Japan, Emi Sakura of Ice Ribbon and Ultraman Robin of Specialist Global Pro. Never knew Robin had his own promotion.

The fresh set of teams formed during the Battle Royal at Shin-Kiba earlier this month will all face each other in a Gauntlet match. No Engrish team names made yet though. Also Dick Togo and GENTARO have their first match together as a team against the former Tag Champs KUDO & Yasu Urano.

DDT “SAPPORO PRO-WRESTLING FESTIVAL”
10/10/2010
Sapporo Teisen Hall

1. Nunchucks & Nunchucks Board Death Match: Hiroki Vs Chiharu
2. Antonio Honda Vs Tomoya
3. Dick Togo & GENTARO Vs Daisuke Sasaki & Takao Soma
4. 3 Way Match: Yasu Urano Vs Keisuke Ishii Vs DJ Nira
5. Kota Ibushi, Kenny Omega & Futoshi Miwa Vs Sanshiro Takagi, KUDO & Yukihiro Abe
6. Losers From 26/09 Tag Title Match Vs Michael Nakazawa & Hikaru Sato
7. KO-D Tag Team Title: KO-D Tag Team Champions After 26/09 Vs MIKAMI & Tanomusaku Toba

The Suicide Boyz have been given a second chance to go after the KO-D Tag Titles. MIKAMI & Tanomusaku Toba became the No. 1 Contenders at Sumo Hall, but their title match with Sanshiro Takagi & Munenori Sawa turned into a Three Way with Dino & Koshinaka thrown into the mix. It was Dino & Koshinaka who became champions while the Suicide Boyz were left cursing at the unfair decision of adding another team. To make it up to them, DDT has given MIKAMI & Toba another title shot and this time there will be no other teamds added to the mix. But who they face won’t be determined until the Korakuen Hall show takes place.

“WHO’S GONNA TOP?” Matches Added, DDT48 Standings, Sawada Injured, Ibushi Returning

August 31, 2010

Two matches have been announced for “Who’s Gonna Top? 2010” set to take place in Korakuen Hall on the 26th September. Our new KO-D Tag Team Champions already have their first defence lined up and it couldn’t be against a tougher team. Disaster BOX are the challengers with HARASHIMA looking to add another title to go along with the KO-D Openweight Title currently around his waist while another Tag Title reign would be just peaches for Toru Owashi. Probably the kind he can wear on his head. However, the odd couple of Shiro Koshinaka & Danshoku Dino were able to defeat two highly regarded teams in the DDT roster to become the champs. A successful first defence here will clear the highest profile challengers off the table for the time being.

The second match will be Muscle Sakai’s final appearance on the main DDT brand, and could there be any better choice than Sanshiro Takagi to be his opponent? With his retirement coming just over a week later, I look forward to seeing Sakai provide a lot of entertainment here before he’s gone for good.

DDT “WHO’S GONNA TOP? 2010”
26/09/2010
Tokyo Korakuen Hall
1. Muscle Sakai Last DDT Match: Sanshiro Takagi Vs Muscle Sakai
2. KO-D Tag Team Championship: Shiro Koshinaka & Danshoku Dino (c) Vs HARASHIMA & Toru Owashi

As of 29th August 2010, the DDT48 Election standings are as follows:

01. HARASHIMA (117 votes)
02. Danshoku Dino (111 votes)
03. Kota Ibushi (92 votes)
04. MIKAMI (84 votes)
05. Sanshiro Takagi (81 votes)
06. YOSHIHIKO (78 votes)
07. Hikaru Sato (77 votes)
08. Dick Togo (74 votes)
09. Shigehiro Irie    (66 votes)
10. Kenny Omega (60 votes)
11. Yasu Urano (53 votes)
12. Michael Nakazawa    (51 votes)
13. KUDO & Antonio Honda (48 votes)
15. Toru Owashi & Daisuke Sasaki (39 votes)
17. Yukihiro Abe, Shuji Ishikawa & Cherry (33 votes)
20. Takao Soma (32 votes)
21. Keisuke Ishii (30 votes)

The top three have received a huge boost in votes and it’s expected that DDT’s three most known names would be on top. Shigehiro Irie is the most notable drop and languishes in the middle of the pack. It’s becoming clear that the fight for the 18th spot will be the most frantic. A tie for the final spot at the end is starting to look likely.

Turns out Poison Sawada JULIE is injured. He’s gone into hibernation after receiving elbow surgery. No more rattling snake magic for a while then.

Kota Ibushi will make his return for the Campsite Pro Wrestling show on 12th September. So far only he and Sanshiro Takagi have been announced to compete.
