I’m going on holiday for a week so there won’t be anymore updates until 13th April at the earliest. That means I’ll be late posting results for the next six shows. If anything major happens and I get word of it there will be tweets but other than that, it’s probably going to be a quiet week or two on this page.

Irie is back in DDT and is entirely focused on winning the KO-D Title and destroying what DDT has become. Konosuke Takeshita welcomes the challenge so he can continue his record breaking title reign. Their last singles match together was on the “DDT SPECIAL 2015” pre-show back in October 2015 when both of them scored low in the Dramatic General Election that year. The match ended in a 10 minute draw.

There is no stipulation picked yet for the DDT Extreme Title match.

Cherry is going freelance after this show. She has also taken up fortune telling as a hobby so maybe she will show off some of that before she leaves the company.

Riho is looking forward to wrestling against Maki Itoh one on one for the first time. Riho is always happy to meet new people but Itoh is annoyed that Riho doesn’t know who she is. She even told Mizuki back in December when they were looking for a tag partner to bring in someone who respects her. Riho pointed out that Mizuki never brought up Itoh, she just asked her to team up for a match. She doesn’t know anything about Itoh other than her name. That only made Ito even more annoyed because according to her she’s been a famous idol for almost as long as Riho has been wrestling. Riho excused that by saying she spends so much of her life in wrestling that she never had the time to look up Itoh’s Wikipedia page.

Yuki Aino is from Okayama and is Nodoka-oneesan’s real life sister. She was the Tokyo Joshi ring announcer since January 2017 but she originally joined to become a wrestler. At first she stopped training because she couldn’t balance it with her college studies. However she secretly began training again near the end of last year and is now ready to debut.

The new ring announcer debuting on this show is Sayuri Nanba, an idol from Saitama.

Naoki Tanizaki attacked Isami Kodaka after Thursday’s main event and challenged him to a Union MAX Title match. He also promised if he wins the main championship in Dove Pro Wrestling at their 1st April show he will put it on the line to make it a double title match.

1. Makoto Oishi, Antonio Honda & Saki Akai defeated Sanshiro Takagi, Toru Owashi & Kazuki Hirata when Honda pinned Hirata with the TTD (9:16).
2. KUDO & Masahiro Takanashi defeated MAO & Yuki Ueno when Takanashi pinned Ueno with the Takatonic (12:26).
3. Naomi Yoshimura defeated Ethan Page with the Throwaway Power Bomb (9:11).
4. Special Single Match: Yukio Sakaguchi Vs Kota Umeda ended in a Double Countout (7:53).
5. Daisuke Sasaki & Nobuhiro Shimatani defeated Danshoku Dino & Keisuke Ishii when Shimatani pinned Dino with a School Boy (8:39).
6. HARASHIMA & Soma Takao defeated Kazusada Higuchi & Kouki Iwasaki when Takao pinned Iwasaki with the Gin And Tonic (11:38).
7. Konosuke Takeshita, Akito & Shunma Katsumata defeated Shuji Ishikawa, Tetsuya Endo & Mad Paulie when Takeshita pinned Ishikawa with a Lariat (21:11).

In the rivalry between Konosuke Takeshita and Shuji Ishikawa, Takeshita is beginning to gain back some ground. He sent a major message out by withstanding Ishikawa’s Running Knee Lift so he could pin him with a Lariat. Takeshita told the fans that there is nothing to worry about. It won’t be easy but Takeshita is certain he will retain the KO-D Openweight Title against Ishikawa at Sumo Hall. “Please look forward to it!”

HARASHIMA took out Kazusada Higuchi with a Somato to the back while Higuchi was sitting on the ring apron. With him out of the way, Soma Takao was able to pin Kouki Iwasaki with the Gin And Tonic.

Danshoku Dino is learning that actions can have repercussions. His antics of transforming into The Great Homo have not gone unnoticed by The Great Muta. A message was sent to DDT during the week saying there is now a Poison Curse surrounding Dino. Wherever Dino goes, Muta will possess the people around him and make them spit Poison Mist at his face. It has gone far enough to effect Dino’s everyday life. Whether he goes to get a massage or visits the dentist, there are people who spit mist at him. At the show today Dino denied such a curse exists but he was misted again throughout the show by ring announcers, referees, other wrestlers and even fans!

Nobuhiro Shimatani wore a DAMNATION shirt to mark his first time teaming with Daisuke Sasaki. Dino was misted by Yuki Iino before the match. Then when Dino had Shimatani beaten, Yukinori Matsui spat more mist at him! Shimatani took advantage and pinned Dino with a School Boy, getting his biggest victory in his career.

Tensions between Yukio Sakaguchi and Kota Umeda got so bad their match was thrown out as they spent too much time fighting outside the ring. Yuki Ueno, KUDO and Masahiro Takanashi had to pull them apart from each other after the match.

Keisuke Okuda helped Naomi Yoshimura beat Ethan Page. Matsui got knocked down during the match and Okuda came in to help Yoshimura. They gave Page an STO double team move and an assisted Throwaway Power Bomb leading to Yoshimura getting the three count when Matsui got back up. Yoshimura said that he and Okuda will win the Tag Gauntlet at Sumo Hall and nobody can stop them. Not LiLiCo. Not Reika Saiki. Nobody! Page promised to get revenge and win the Tag Gauntlet with Antonio Honda.

Kazuki Hirata was allowed to do his dance entrance in full today. He thanked the other wrestlers for allowing him to do it then teased that some of them might be in the upcoming Loser Expulsion Match on 1st April. The smile was wiped from his face when Sanshiro Takagi told him that he will be in the match! Hirata panicked because he lost the last Expulsion Match. He’s already decided to stack up on Red Bull and egg sandwiches if it happens again.

This is the last DDT show before “JUDGEMENT 2018” a week later. The two matches I have the most interest in are Yukio Sakaguchi Vs Kota Umeda and Ethan Page Vs Naomi Yoshimura. Two fresh grudges for different reasons. Umeda is facing his former “brother” one on one while Page wants to show he is much stronger than Yoshimura.

Mike Bailey gets the DDT Extreme Title shot. The match stipulation has yet to be decided by Yuko Miyamoto.

High stakes are being made by Sanshiro Takagi. He is making himself and Toru Owashi put their DDT careers on the line against two unknown opponents. Whoever takes the losing fall in the match will no longer be allowed inside a DDT ring ever again. Usually when this happens the losing wrestler discovers a long lost foreign relative to take his place.

1. Antonio Honda, Shigehiro Irie & Kazusada Higuchi defeated Toru Owashi, Kazuki Hirata & Hoshitango when Honda submitted Hirata with the Majigatame (6:53).
2. We Are The World! Four Countries Wrestling Summit!: Mike Bailey defeated Diego, Rekka and Royce Isaacs when Bailey pinned Rekka with the Ultima Weapon (10:56).
3. Tetsuya Endo defeated Kouki Iwasaki with the Swan Dive Firebird Splash (11:14).
4. New York Style Tag Match: HARASHIMA & Soma Takao defeated Danshoku Dino & Keisuke Ishii when HARASHIMA KISS pinned Dino with the Somato (11:15).
5. KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles: KUDO, Yukio Sakaguchi & Masahiro Takanashi (c) defeated Makoto Oishi, Shunma Katsumata & MAO when Takanashi pinned Oishi with the Takatonic (20:15).
*V2 for Shuten-dōji.
6. ALL OUT Vs DAMNATION!: Daisuke Sasaki & Mad Paulie defeated Konosuke Takeshita & Akito when Sasaki submitted Takeshita with La Mistica Cross Facelock (20:02).

Ken Ohka interfered in the main event to attack the DAMNATION wrestlers and apparently aid Konosuke Takeshita in the process. Ohka picked up Takeshita and encouraged him to fight. It turned out to be a ruse and Ohka gave Takeshita a Vertical Brainbuster. Ohka went to hit the Fire Spear but Daisuke Sasaki cut him off with a chairshot. With Ohka dealt with, Sasaki ducked Takeshita’s Lariat and twisted him into La Mistica Cross Facelock for the submission victory.

NωA failed to win back the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles but they now have even bigger fish to fry. Shunma Katsumata & MAO want a shot at the GHC Jr. Tag Team Titles over in NOAH! They lost to the current champions HAYATA & YO-HEY in the NOAH Jr. Tag League and they want revenge. Meanwhile Masahiro Takanashi is pissed off that DAMNATION and Ohka Empire Returns are ahead of Shuten-dōji in the Dramatic General Election.

Producer Danshoku Dino knew not to put himself and HARASHIMA in another Falls Count Anywhere match. Instead their tag match today was fought under New York Rules. Pinfalls and submissions would only count when the wrestler is kissing his opponent during the pin or submission hold. HARASHIMA agreed to the rule while both Soma Takao and Keisuke Ishii were wondering why were they being dragged into this. HARASHIMA pinned and kissed Dino to win the match. He admitted he was confused by the rules. Takao also pointed out he now kissed three people in the ring today.

An update was given on the Dramatic General Election standings. DAMNATION is dominating with Daisuke Sasaki leading the solo election and the entire group is winning the unit election. Booing 2017 is dead last as expected.

6. Smile Squash Vs Shuten-dōji!: HARASHIMA, Soma Takao & Yasu Urano defeated KUDO, Yukio Sakaguchi & Masahiro Takanashi when Urano pinned Takanashi with the Tombstone Piledriver (22:01).

Yasu Urano is picking up steam on the way to his KO-D Openweight Title shot. Today he scored the victory for Smile Squash over Shuten-dōji. But it was a bitter sweet result for Urano. This was his final match against his longtime friends and rivals as a DDT contracted wrestler. Urano was originally invited by KUDO to wrestle in DDT a decade ago and for that he will always be grateful. He is also inspired by Yukio Sakaguchi who showed him that you are never too old to try something new. Last but not least he respects Masahiro Takanashi for making up for his lack of size and power by working hard on his techniques.

The Right To Challenge Contracts took an unexpected turn when the KO-D Champion himself Konosuke Takeshita got his hands on one. Takeshita used his new Wrist Clutch Fisherman Buster to pin Kazusada Higuchi and take his gauntlet. We found out afterwards that the move is called the Surprise Rose. Akito kept asking Takeshita if he could have the RTC Contract because the champion shouldn’t need it. Takeshita kept telling him no because he knew Akito would just cash it in on him immediately. When that was settled, ALL OUT announced they will be revealing a new member of the team at the 28th May Korakuen Hall show.

Today didn’t go so well for Daisuke Sasaki. He also lost to Antonio Honda for the first time in their current series of matches. Sasaki brought in a chair after a referee bump but Honda stopped him with a Low Blow and the Scorpion Death Drop. Honda then hit the Diving Fist Drop for the finish. If that wasn’t bad enough, Sasaki also went through some women problems earlier in the show. I’ll get to that later.

The International Gay Factory’s antics were so out of control during their match with Toru Owashi & Shigehiro Irie that it ended in a No Contest. Danshoku Dino grabbed the arms of anyone from ringside from referees to wrestlers to even the GM Amon Tsurumi. Dino would grab their arms and use Royce Isaac’s Miracle Ass to break them until NωA came down to stop them. Makoto Oishi told IGF that he cannot forgive them for their actions.

Sasaki was caught red handed doing his fake translations of Heidi Katrina’s promos. After Saki Akai pinned Katrina in their tag match, Akai wanted to put an end to their feud and team up together. This time Tetsuya Koda gave the proper interpretations to Katrina and she was furious to find out Sasaki was lying to her the entire time. Sasaki kicked Koda away but the damage was done and Katrina attacked Sasaki with Akai’s help. She then accepted Akai’s offer to team up.

Masahiro Takanashi attacked Hirata Collection A.T. after the opening match. Sanshiro Takagi decided to join in by stomping his buddy because he felt like it. Takanashi demanded a singles match with Hirata at Korakuen. Amon Tsurumi decided they will get a tag team match instead. Hirata suddenly announced his partner for the match will be Daiki Shimomura’s cousin from Italy. Shimomura didn’t know he has a cousin from Italy. He was even more confused when Hirata said the cousin’s name is Hiranito Collection A.T. but whatever, he’ll go with it.

After an 8 month absence, Yuka Sakazaki returned to Tokyo Joshi Pro to have her preparation match with Yuu. But the result involved the other big match up for the 4th June show. Shoko Nakajima avoided Reika Saiki’s Tower Bridge and pinned her with the Northern Lights Suplex. After the match Nakajima told Saiki that next time she will beat her on her own. Yuu welcomed Sakazaki back but said she will successfully defend the TOKYO Princess Of Princess Title against her.

Rika Tatsumi kept her promise and brought a doctor to inspect Martha’s true identity. But it wasn’t just any doctor, it was Masayuki Hayashi! Dr. Hayashi is one of the most famous ring doctors in pro wrestling, mostly known for his appearances in New Japan. Despite Saki-sama’s protests, Dr. Hayashi dragged Martha backstage while the match began. They reappeared late in the match to announce the medical results. Hayashi concluded that Martha is indeed an 8 year old girl. Foul play was considered then proven when Dr. Hayashi blinded Tatsumi with powder after the referee was knocked down. Saki-sama hit the Two Step Face Kick to steal the victory then repeated Dr. Hayashi’s results to boos. Tatsumi complained about Dr. Hayashi’s betrayal and challenged Saki to another match on 4th June. Saki would only accept if the Dragon Bombers would split up when they lose. Tatsumi fired back demanding SIN Biishiki-gun to dissolve if the Bombers win. Saki accepted and offered Dr. Hayashi to accompany her for the match. He seemed rather enamoured with her so it looks like that’s a yes. In a backstage interview Dr. Hayashi admitted he had doubts over what Martha was. He originally thought Martha was a 3 year old girl… Meanwhile the Dragon Bombers are determined not to lose because they have a T-shirt going on sale soon and disbanding would cancel that product.

Azusa Takigawa announced she will be bringing back her “legendary” underground idol unit Aime on 4th June. The unit was formed 10 years ago and consisted only of Takigawa and Shuko Matsuda. Their first and only single was called “Summer Mode ☆”. Takigawa is resurrecting Aime because she wants to show Itoh Maki who the real top idol in Tokyo Joshi is.

Nonoko carried an issue of Tokyo Sports newspaper in her hands during the 3 Way Match. She ended up wearing it over her neck and shoulders to mock Yuna Manase because Manase hesitated to do anything that would damage the paper. What Nonoko didn’t expect was for Maho Kurone to attack her from behind and tear the paper off her. Manase then hit the Neck Screw on Nonoko to win the match. Nonoko still thinks she deserves to be Miss Tokyo Sports instead of Manase. She accused Manase of having fake boobs and challenged her to compare their bust measurements at Toyko Sports HQ.

Higuchi & Irie were chosen to be ALL OUT’s opponents because of their victory over HARASHIMA & Mike Bailey at “MAX BUMP 2017”. Also all four wrestlers in the match represent the future of DDT.

Ganbare☆Wrestling is attempting to bring back its Ganbare☆Joshi brand. The joshi project came about for a show two years ago but nothing had been done with it since. After witnessing female shootboxers from around the world at the RIZIN Martial Arts EXPO, Ganpuro was inspired to bring the project back. This time Ganbare☆Joshi will be built around a brand new masked wrestler Ken Ohka is raising from scratch. The wrestler is actually Haruka Kato and she even admits as such but she is willing to reinvent herself. Her dream is to wrestle overseas and she hopes this experiment will help her achieve it. She hopes her new name will be something world class like Asuka. Her “debut” match will be against Kaori Yoneyama.

More details on the first Ganbare☆Climax emerged today. It will be a 16 man tournament open to both domestic and foreign wrestlers. Several Ganpuro wrestlers will participate but they will also be looking out for strong talent to fill in the remaining spots. It is a complete coincidence that a tournament of this calibur is taking place in Tokyo on the 11th, 12th and 13th August. Nope, no attempt at riding on another tournament’s coat tails here. None at all. Ken Ohka chose this date only because he wants to have wrestling on in the summer and the Climax refers to the end of summer. Nothing else!

It is all over for Happy Motels. With Konosuke Takeshita taking the throne as the top man in DDT, Antonio Honda felt it was time for everyone to move on. Their final match together with Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi included saw them victorious over DAMNATION. As an added treat it was Honda who scored the winning submission. He blocked Daisuke Sasaki’s Hurricanrana and countered it into a Dragon Suplex. When Sasaki kicked out Honda put him in the Manjigatame to make Sasaki tap. Honda said they would build a sexy statue of Hiroshi to celebrate the victory. He then said “April Fool’s!” Honda revealed that he came up with the idea of forming Happy Motel back when he saw Takeshita and Hiroshi wrestle each other. Hiroshi said he now feels lonely without Happy Motels but Honda reminded him that he is a pillar for BASARA and BASARA will always need him. Honda finished by saying even if they weren’t really a motel, they were still able to be happy and make others feel happy. They finished with a group pose and with that, Happy Motels have disbanded.

Something is going on with Akito, there is more to him leaving Smile Squash than just wanting a change in scenery. His match with Yasu Urano featured interference from Daisuke Sasaki and Tetsuya Endo. Sasaki gave Urano a Low Blow while Endo distracted the referee. Akito did not see it happen but still took advantage and pinned Urano with the Hanamasa. Urano offered a handshake after the match but Akito rejected him and stormed out of the ring. When Akito found out about DAMNATION’s interference he thought it was just an April Fool’s joke being played on him.

Yukio Sakaguchi and Yoshihiro Takayama continued fighting each other after the 3 Way Tag Match ended. Meanwhile Smile Squash are still adjusting to life without Akito. Soma Takao suggested that he and HARASHIMA go after the KO-D Tag Team Titles.

Royce Isaacs introduced himself to the audience at the start of the show. He wrestled in last year’s DNA Grand Prix and is happy for the chance to wrestle in DDT. He told the audience he will have exciting matches and they will not forget his name.

There is a change in plans for this year’s Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere challenge. Instead of a Battle Royal Ladder Match there will instead be five singles matches to determine who wins a contract. The matches are Akito Vs Kouki Iwasaki, Antonio Honda Vs Royce Isaacs, KUDO Vs Shigehiro Irie, Yoshihiro Takayama Vs Kazusada Higuchi and Keisuke Ishii Vs Yoshihiko. Each match will have a five minute time limit and if the time runs out the winner will be chosen by an audience vote.
