URRC stands for Ultimate Reverse RIZAP Championship and is inspired by the RIZAP exercise program. The URRC was created by Yumehito Imanari to cheer on female wrestlers who are not confident in the ring. Imanari used Wikipedia to look up the weight and height of each joshi wrestler competing in the match. He then seperated each woman into a different weight class. Aoi Ishibashi (160cm/62kg) is a Welterweight, Manami Koda (152cm/62kg) is a Cruiserweight, Hamuko Hoshi (161cm/60kg) is a Middleweight and Kurumi (150cm/60kg) is a Heavyweight. How this is supposed to make them feel better, I don’t know.

Hong Kong International Police Man has suffered a neck injury and will not be able to wrestle on the show. He might not even appear at all because of it.

The three companies return to Korakuen Hall on New Year’s Eve for the annual big bash. This year’s show is built around a one night tag team tournament. 16 teams compete with special rules in effect to ensure the matches are lightning quick. Every match in the first two rounds will have a 10 minute time limit. If time runs out the match goes to sudden death and will end with a one count pinfall. The semi final has the same rules but with a 15 minute time limit. The final has no time limit. There will be a playoff tree for the first two rounds but who faces who in the semi finals will be determined by a lottery.

The rules are similar to the singles tournament held last year. Sanshiro Takagi joked that next year they could do a trios tournament and continue adding an extra team member every year. TAKA Michinoku has not decided on a tag team partner yet.

*V4 for The Golden Lovers.

The Golden Lovers retained their KO-D Tag Team Titles over Shuten-dōji in a brawl of a match. After the match Kenny Omega said that the trio of him, Kota Ibushi and Daisuke Sasaki will now be called the Golden Storm Riders.

Keisuke Ishii apologised for him and Shigehiro Irie not having the All Asia Tag Team Titles with them. All Japan currently has possession of their titles belts and Ishii was unable to get permission to bring them to Sapporo.

Kenichi Yamamoto was impressed with Sanshiro Takagi when they teamed up and won their match. So much so that he had an idea for the next time DDT returns to Hokkaido. Yamamoto wants Takagi to help him form a new Golden Cups unit. The Golden Cups were originally a group in WAR featuring Yamamoto, Yuji Anjo and Yoshihiro Takayama. Together the three invaded New Japan. Takagi accepted the offer He and Yamamoto together yelled “We Are Golden Cups!”

Danshoku Dino won the 4 Way Match when DJ Nira had his head shoved into Dino’s backside, forcing Nira to give up.

After wrestling for 25 minutes earlier in the afternoon, Michael Nakazawa was still feeling energetic and enthusiastic for his opening match with Daisuke Sasaki. The bell rang, Nakazawa yelled “Here we go Sapporo!” and Sasaki quickly locked hm in the Crossface Lock for the sudden submission victory. Amon Tsurumi called for an immediate rematch. Nakazawa was able to avoid the Crossface Lock and then covered himself in lotion to make his body slippy. The plan backfired when Nakazawa could not keep his grip for a German Suplex and Sasaki slipped away. Sasaki then grabbed Nakazawa’s loose tights and used them to apply the Crossface Lock to win a second time.

1. No DQ Match: Danshoku Dino defeated Konosuke Takeshita with the Gay-do Clutch (8:22).

Takeshita wound up hurting his knee but had to fight Oishi again. He was about to submit Oishi with the Walls Of Takeshita when Dino ran into the ring and attacked Takeshita for the DQ. A chair was used often in the No DQ match and at one point Takeshita had Dino beat with a German Suplex but the referee was knocked unconscious. When Takeshita checked on the ref Dino rolled him over with the Gay-do Clutch. That was when the ref recovered and counted the pin, giving Dino the victory. Dino and Oishi attacked Takeshita after the match but they were then chased off by Antonio Honda and DJ Nira.

Whoever ate the Wasabi Éclair would be the loser. Throughout the match Antonio Honda and Daisuke Sasaki ate two éclairs each and felt no discomfort. Kenny Omega Vs Michael Nakazawa

Close buddies Kenny Omega and Michael Nakazawa are next up. They previously fought in a one match show back in February 2013. That match was a crazy Last Man Standing match that left both men battered and bruised. The last time they were in the ring together, Nakazawa was again beaten up pretty badly. By booking this match, Kenny is convinced DDT wants Nakazawa dead and he doesn’t understand why.

According to Sawada he possesses an ancient lighter from the Inca Empire which can be used to burn the championship belt. When burnt, a treasure map of Arica appears on the belt’s strap. If Takagi gets his way and retires the championship he will have the belt all to himself. Sawada does not want Takagi to discover the map and go after the ancient treasure so he travelled to an old hideout and searched for a certain item to help him. Even though the cave has become desolate over the years and many of his possessions are no longer kept there, he was able to find what he wanted. S Cells! These are potions that contain the power of Snake magic. Sawada then found Antonio Honda and used the S Cells to turn him into Snake Antonio! Now under Sawada’s spell, Antonio has been ordered to defeat Takagi at all costs and become the 1000th champion!
