Red Team: Isami Kodaka, Ryuichi Sekine, Tetsuya Endo & Shuji Ishikawa

White Team: Hiroshi Fukuda, Akito, Ryota Nakatsu & Jun Kasai

A team challenge took place throughout the show. The Dropkick Bar wrestlers were on Team Red and their opponents were on Team White.

In the main event the White Team introduced Jun Kasai as their mystery wrestler. Isami Kodaka landed the Diving Double Knee Drop from the ladder onto Ryota Nakatsu to win the match and the challenge for his team. Afterwards he offered Kasai a match on 27th October. Kasai accepted.

Hiroshi Fukuda and The Great Kojika sang old songs while they wrestled each other.

Music from Ashita no Joe played throughout the Glove Match. By the time the match went into the final round Kodaka was starting to resemble Joe Yabuki in his final fight.

A single lighttube was attached to the ropes for Match #3. The aim of the match was to smash the lighttube into the opponent.

In the opening match a wrestler had to drink a glass of tequila every time they were thrown out of the ring. Tetsuya Endo put Nakatsu in a Sleeper Hold and force fed him the bottle, rolling him over with a School Boy afterwards.

7. KO-D Openweight Title: Yukio Sakaguchi (c) Vs Daisuke Sasaki

Daisuke Sasaki has been honing his new Vietnam Driver II finisher all month long. The move has pinned Yukio Sakaguchi, earning Sasaki the KO-D Openweight Title match. However since then Sakaguchi has been figuring out how to counter it and he was able to pin Sasaki at a later show. Sasaki claims this is all part of his plan to win the title.

Things are looking up for #OhkaEmpire as they prepare to fight Team Drift one more time. Danshoku Dino has gotten the better of Keisuke Ishii in their recent matches together and Super Sasadango Machine re-established how powerful the Lehman Shock is. However Ken Ohka sticks out as the weak link of the team.

Joey Ryan has won all of his matches so far with the Sweet Tooth Music, a Super Kick to an opponent while they have a lollipop stuck in their mouth.

4c. Irregular Count Fall Match: Cherry defeated Aoi Kizuki (c) with the Union Lock (2:46).
*Aoi Kizuki fails in V1. Cherry becomes the 9th Union Fly To Everywhere World Champion!
5. 8-Man Tag Team Elimination Match: FUMA, MEN’S Teioh, Kazushi Miyamoto & SAGAT defeated Isami Kodaka, Daichi Kazato, Yusuke Kubo & Masato Shibata (16:40).
5a. Kazushi Miyamoto eliminated Masato Shibata by Ring Out (5:41).
5b. FUMA eliminated Yusuke Kubo with a Buzzsaw Kick (10:18).
5c. Isami Kodaka eliminated Kazushi Miyamoto by Ring Out (11:58).
5d. Isami Kodaka eliminated SAGAT by Ring Out (12:31).
5e. FUMA eliminated Isami Kodaka by Ring Out (12:40).
5f. Daichi Kazato eliminated MEN’S Teioh by Ring Out (13:40).
5g. FUMA eliminated Daichi Kazato with the Diving Headbutt (16:40).
6. Last Man Standing Match: Shuji Ishikawa defeated Seiya Morohashi by KO with the Running Knee Lift Barrage (16:56).

In a Last Man Standing match between Union’s two beefiest men, Shuji Ishikawa came out on top. Seiya Morohashi survived the Splash Mountain but his Quarrel Bomber was countered with a Knee Lift. Ishikawa then spammed Running Knee Lifts until Morohashi could no longer answer the ten count. Ishikawa and Isami Kodaka met in the ring at the end of the show to talk about their Union MAX Title match on the final Union event in Korakuen Hall on 4th October.

The King Legion once more reigned victorious over Union, this time in an 8-Man Elimination Tag match. FUMA was the last man standing but Union’s last man Daichi Kazato did not go down without a fight. FUMA challenged Kazato to a match on 4th October and to spice things up he will put the fate of the King Legion on the line. If Kazato beats FUMA then King Legion will de dissolved.

Cherry regained the Union Fly To Everywhere World Title for the third time after beating Aoi Kizuki two falls to one. Miyako Matsumoto took part in the first fall because the goal was for either Cherry or Kizuki to pin her. The second fall was called a Rock ‘N’ Roll Death Match but music from Swan Lake was used rather than anyting rock ‘n’ roll. In the deciding fall Cherry pinned Kizuki with a special version of the Spring Night Love she calls the Union Lock. After the match Cherry said she wanted to face Masako Takanashi on the final Union show in the decisive battle between Union’s two female(ish) wrestlers.

Mio Shirai was pinned in her final Union match. She put GENTARO in the Figure Four Neck Lock but he countered the move into a pin for the three count. Shirai described the people she wrestled with in the match as a group rich with variety. She said her final match in Union was a good experience. She also got to give a closing speech at the end of the show.

Union’s Final Harvest, Ganpuro Gets Real Tiger Mask, Who’s Gonna Top DDT?

September 14, 2015

UNION “UNION HARVEST FESTIVAL 2015”, 15/09/2015
Shin-kiba 1st RING

1. Hiroshi Fukuda Vs Ryu Gouma (w/ Kazuhiko Ogasawara)
2. Mitomi Masayuki & Ryota Nakatsu Vs Madoka & Ayumu Honda
3. Mio Shirai Last Union Match: Mio Shirai & Ladybeard Vs GENTARO & X
4. Union Fly To Everywhere World Title – Three Match Special Rules: Aoi Kizuki (c) Vs Cherry
5. 8-Man Tag Team Elimination Match: Isami Kodaka, Daichi Kazato, Yusuke Kubo & Masato Shibata Vs FUMA, MEN’S Teioh, Kazushi Miyamoto & SAGAT
6. Last Man Standing Match: Shuji Ishikawa Vs Seiya Morohashi

Shuji Ishikawa Vs Seiya Morohashi is now a Last Man Standing match. This is the kind of pro wrestling where friends who care for one another beat the crap out of each other to prove it.

The Fly To Everywhere Title match between Aoi Kizuki and Cherry will be Best 2 Out Of 3 Falls with each fall having a special rule. The first fall is a 3 Way Match with Miyako Matsumoto also included. Whoever beats Matsumoto first will win the fall. The 2nd fall is a Rock ‘N’ Roll Death Match with A.YAZAWA as the special guest referee. If needed, the 3rd and final fall will be a Total 3 Count match. The best I can describe the rule is if you pin your opponent for a two count then your next pin only needs a one count to win. If you pin and get a one count then the next pin needs a two count to win. I’m not entirely sure if three one counts is enough to win or if the amount needed is only based on the previous pin. But the intention here is pinning the opponent for three seconds in total just not necessarily in a row.

This will be Mio Shirai’s final match in Union before she retires on 20th September. Shirai has chosen Kyoko Kimura to be GENTARO’s partner in the match.

Ryu Gouma has admitted defeat in his quest to learn Karate in order to beat Hiroshi Fukuda’s Judo. This last match is not Judo Vs Karate, but American Vs Lawyer.

6. Texas Tornado Hardcore Special Handicap Match: Ken Ohka, GENTARO, Shota & Bambi Vs Minoru Fujita, Hi69 & Osamu Namiguchi

Minoru Fujita demanded that the main event will be a Hardcore Match. He also mocked Ganbare☆Wrestling by saying they should worry about Tokyo Joshi Pro outdrawing them in the same building on the same date. Ken Ohka said his team will beat Fujita’s team and they will rehabilitate Fujita out of his bad attitude.

Ganbare☆Wrestling is bringing in a surprise name for this show. The “Real Tiger Mask” Shuichiro Katsumura will wrestle in Ganpuro to help turn it into a major sports company. He will team with Hayato Mashita who was his first opponent in his debut pro wrestling match.

Yumehito Imanari was told that his design of Ganpuro’s new logo plagiarises the logo of the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics. Imanari still denies the claim and even went as far as to print up T-shrts of the new logo to sell at the show. It is too late for Ganpuro to cancel the order so they have no other choice but to sell the shirts once they arrive.

Ken Ohka has wished Kana good luck on her move to WWE. Kana wrestled a match in Ganpuro back in February. She has inspired Ohka to give back to wrestling and for Ganpuro to do its best in Japan while she does the same in America.

7. KO-D Openweight Title: Yukio Sakaguchi (c) Vs Daisuke Sasaki

Daisuke Sasaki was nominated as the No. 1 Contender by Yukio Sakaguchi himself. With the Vietnam Driver II in his arsenal, Sasaki now thinks he is Earth’s Strongest Man. Sakaguchi may knee that thought straight out of Sasaki’s head.

#OhkaEmpire have impressed and annoyed Team Drift enough to get a KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles shot. Danshoku Dino pinned both Keisuke Ishii and Soma Takao yesterday while Ken Ohka is constantly standing up to Shigehiro Irie despite coming off the worse for wear in every encounter. The one wild card is Super Sasadango Machine. He had a secret plan yesterday that he was unable to use because he was quickly eliminated. The upcoming rematch gives him another chance to use it if he wishes.

Before Shuji Ishikawa faces Isami Kodaka for the Union MAX Title, he takes Seiya Morohashi. Despite being a mainstay of Union, Morohashi was not part of the original group that jumped from DDT when the brand formed back in 2005. Morohashi instead joined a few years later. Ishikawa is proud of Morohashi’s time in Union. He brought up one time when he fell ill and had to pull out of a match. Morohashi took his place at the last minute and gave a physically intense performance. I bet the match he is talking about is Morohashi Vs Shigehiro Irie from July 2012. Ishikawa wants to thank Morohashi for always being there for Union.

Mio Shirai has requested GENTARO’s tag partner to be a female wrestler.

1. Union MAX Title: Isami Kodaka (c) Vs Shuji Ishikawa

The final match in Union should obviously be between the two aces fighting over the championship. Isami Kodaka requested Shuji Ishikawa to be his next and possibly last challenger for the Union MAX Title.

TAVERN WRESTLING “ALCOHOL HEAVEN”, 28/08/2015
Shin-kiba 1st RING
324 Fans – Super No Vacancy

1. Tetsuya Endo & Ryuichi Sekine defeated Ryota Nakatsu & Kota Umeda when Endo pinned Umeda with the Torture Rack Bomb (9:05).
2. Tokyo Joshi Pro Offer Match: Yuka Sakazaki defeated MIZUHO with a School Boy (8:19).
3. Shinkiba Famous Golden Love Lotion Title – Ladder Match: Jaki Numazawa & Takayuki Ueki defeated Hiroshi Fukuda & Seiya Morohashi when Numazawa grabbed the lotion (14:13).
*Jaki Numazawa becomes the 1st Shinkiba Famous Golden Love Lotion Champion.
4. Somigaku-gatana & Yasuura No defeated Choun-Shiryu & Cao Zhang when Somato pinned Shiryu with the Shin Somato (15:05).
5. Koshien Finals Of Summer: Isami Kodaka defeated Atsushi Maruyama with the Running Isamuashi Homerun (19:01).

A notable journalist was in the crowd to watch DDT for the first time. Yoichi Watanabe was kidnapped in Afghanistan in 2010 and kept captive for five months until he was freed. Isami Kodaka invited him into the ring after the main event for a toast.

A brand new championship was introduced for wrestlers to get their hands on, although it is a little bit slippy. The Shinkiba Famous Golden Love Lotion Title was on the line in a Ladder Match. A bottle of lotion was hung over the ring and whoever climbed the ladder and grabbed it was declared the winner. However there was other bottles of lotion around ringside that could be used. Takayuki Ueki was fixated on using the lotion to wash his chest hair. He also pulled a gun on everybody. Seiya Morohashi was pinned down with the ladder while Hiroshi Fukuda and Jaki Numazawa both climbed to the top despite being covered in lotion. Fukuda had a microphone and he asked Numazawa to sing with him. He did but it was a trick! Fukuda grabbed Numazawa and yelled he was going to do the Perfect Plex off the ladder. However Fukuda instead lost his grip because of the lotion and slipped off the ladder, Numazawa alone to grab the lotion bottle. He and Ueki celebrated the victory by hugging each other’s slippy bodies.

Yuka Sakazaki and MIZUHO both wrestled in yukatas. They used a water gun and rubber floating ring during their match.

Today was the first day of voting for the 2015 DDT Dramatic General Election. Although he wasn’t wrestling on the show, Makoto Oishi was in attendance trying to win votes by giving free hugs to people.

UNION “SUMMER FESTIVAL UNION 2015”, 30/08/2015
Shinjuku FACE

1. Mio Shirai Vs Jun Kasai
2. Shuji Ishikawa & Daichi Kazato Vs Go Shiozaki & Kotaro Suzuki
3. Union MAX Title: FUMA (c) Vs Isami Kodaka

Union gets a visit from All Japan for an inter-promotional tag team match. Shuji Ishikawa has made a few appearances in AJPW this year and even threw out a challenge to Akebono for a Triple Crown Title match. He could send a loud message if he and Daichi Kazato can beat the visiting team of Go Shiozaki & Kotaro Suzuki.

Look, it’s neat and all for somebody to go all out while they still can before retirement but will somebody tell Mio Shirai to stop getting into matches with psychopaths?

Masako Takanashi will also be on the show.
