The main event is protein shakes vs liquor. Konosuke Takeshita & Tetsuya Endo plan to drink protein shakes as a toast for their victory on Sunday. Masa Takanashi is pretty insulted that they would drink protein shakes instead of alcohol.

Akito has decided his DDT Extreme Title match against Soma Takao will just be a normal singles match. Akito still remembers when he lost to Takao in a King of DDT qualifying match back in May. He is still bitter over the defeat and wants to prove he can beat Takao without any crazy stipulation aiding him. He’ll start defending the Extreme Title the way it is supposed to be defended once he beats Takao. Also since DDT is currently being passed over to a new generation of wrestlers, Akito wants to make the Extreme Title as prestigious as the KO-D Openweight Title.

A World Title match one year in the making! Every October DDT holds a show outside the Tokyo JR Omori Station. The event features the Omori World Title, a championship that is usually only defended at this event. Danshoku Dino has held the title since 2009 and it was a vital part of his infamous GAY Crown title run that year. Former Okinawa Pro wrestler Gurukun Mask won a Battle Royal at last year’s event to become this year’s No. 1 contender.

With “RYOGOKU PETER PAN 2014” in the bag it is time to look ahead for DDT’s future. A mini tournament for DDT’s young wrestlers is going ahead to determine the No. 1 Contender for the KO-D Openweight Title. The semi finals take place in Kasukabe Hall when Tetsuya Endo faces Konosuke Takeshita and Keisuke Ishii faces Akito. The two winners will take part in the final on 31st August in Shinjuku. The KO-D Title match will happen in Osaka on 13th September.

Ishii counts himself as the favourite. He is unbeaten against both Akito and Endo in singles matches. He has never faced Takeshita one on one. Regardless, Ishii is so confident he will win that he wonders why there is even a tournament to determine the next title challenger when it should be him. Takeshita felt he learned a lot from wrestling Hiroshi Tanahashi. He hopes to win the tournament so he can have the title match with HARASHIMA in front of his home town Osaka crowd.

HARASHIMA’s comments coming out of the Sumo Hall main event are about what you’d expect to hear from him. His opponents were strong, he was glad he was able to win and he wants to be the defending champion again at next year’s show.

For now the Golden☆Lovers’ main priority is to keep the KO-D Tag Team Titles around their waists. Kenny Omega said he has no choice but to win at any cost to keep his title with Kota Ibushi. They defend the belts against two thirds of the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Champions. The Drift duo of Shigehiro Irie & Soma Takao challenged the Golden☆Lovers and it was accepted. With Ishii in the tournament and this title match happening soon, Drift are aiming to add the KO-D Openweight and Tag Team Titles to their collection. Kenny says he and Ibushi are an S-Rank team. Irie’s response is he and Takao are an A-Ranked team, then he got confused and corrected himself, calling him and Takao a T-Ranked team instead.

Former DDT wrestler Daichi Kakimoto is now with Union. Kakimoto wrestled in DDT from 2003 to 2008 when a cervical spine injury forced him into retirement. He returned to wrestling in 2012 and made sporadic appearances since then. He now wants to wrestle on a regular basis and signed with Union. He chose Union for two reasons. The first is Kakimoto being inspired by how much Shuji Ishikawa and Isami Kodaka have grown the last couple of years. The other reason is Union’s schedule is easy enough for his body and non-wrestling career to handle. Kakimoto also wants to re-debut under as a masked wrestler and will use a new ring name to represent how he is starting again from scratch. He hopes fans will not reveal his identity or update his Wikipedia page when he appears under the mask.

There will be a one day tournament on the show. Every tournament match will only have a 5 minute time limit except for the final, which gets 10 minutes. The opening round bouts take place as dark matches. The competitors announced so far are Kenta Hattori, Kenji Takeshima, Koji Iwamoto, Kotaro Nasu and Hiroshi Kobayashi.

Union, Oz Academy, Pro Wrestling WAVE and Ice Ribbon are getting together for a joint event next month. The centrepiece of the show is Mio Shirai who at the beginning of the year signed contracts with each of the four companies. The show is called “M.I.O” which stands for Mission Inn Odate. The main event will be a 6-Person Tag Team Death Match. Shirai will be participating in her first ever Death Match along with Ice Ribbon’s Maki Narumiya. Union’s Isami Kodaka and Oz’s Mayumi Ozaki plus two more wrestlers. The type of Death Match and the teams will be decided on a later date.

When asked why she would compete in a Death Match, Shirai said she’s never done one in the 7 years she’s been wrestling. She’s done unusual matches that involved using weapons and wrestling in costumes but never a Death Match. Suggested matches for the rest of the card are Aja Kong Vs Jaiko Ishikawa, Seiya Morohashi Vs Police, Tsukushi Vs Shuji Ishikawa (!?!?) and Sumire Natsu Vs Tsukushi.

The Tokyo Princess Cup came to an end with the Semi Finals and Final taking place in Shin-Kiba 1st RING. Shoko Nakajima learned how to avoid the Crash Rabbit Heat and got the upset win over Miyu Yamashita. Then Nonoko defeated Yuka Sakazaki in a match where Nonoko was attacked with a super soaker, water balloons and a rubber ring. The crowd backed Nakajima in the final but Nonoko’s size was too much to handle. Nonoko wound up as the winner of the first Tokyo Princess Cup.

Akane Miura won her debut match, pinning Erin in a 3 Way. Miura is looking forward to facing the senior students soon.

The Tokyo Joshi Pro dark match at DDT “RYOGOKU PETER PAN 2014” will be Miyu Yamashita, KANNA & Chikage Kiba Vs Shoko Nakajima, Yuka Sakazaki & Erin.

3. Jun Kasai defeated DJ Nira with the Pearl Harbour Splash (7:11).
4. Yasu Urano defeated MIKAMI with a School Boy Crush (11:59).
5. Rock ‘N’ Roll Death Match: A.YAZAWA defeated Sanshiro Takagi, Makoto Oishi and Kazuki Hirata when YAZAWA pinned Hirata with the Upstart Kick (13:21).
6. Yukio Sakaguchi & Masa Takanashi defeated Keisuke Ishii & Soma Takao when Takanashi pinned Takao with the Takatonic (11:50).
7. Beer Garden Specialty! 6-Man Lottery Tag Match: KUDO, Kenny Omega & Shigehiro Irie defeated Danshoku Dino, Konosuke Takeshita & HARASHIMA when Omega pinned Dino with the One-Winged Angel (15:59).

A lottery was held to determine the two teams in the main event. We wound up getting KUDO, Kenny Omega & Shigehiro Irie Vs Danshoku Dino, Konosuke Takeshita & HARASHIMA. The match ventured back and forth between serious and nonsense. HARASHIMA and Omega squared off in a 2/3rd preview of the “RYOGOKU PETER PAN 2014” main event. Meanwhile Irie and Dino wrestled each other while wearing stockings over their heads. The finish came when Dino Hip Thrusted Omega into the corner and was preparing to deliver the Danshoku Driver. Omega suddenly spat beer in Dino’s face and knocked him down with the Hadouken. Irie did a Brainbuster, KUDO delivered the Diving Double Knee Drop and Omega finished it with the One-Winged Angel to pin Dino.

Shuten-dōji got a win over Team Drift in their final skirmish before their KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Title shot at Sumo Hall. Soma Takao taunted Yukio Sakaguchi & Masa Takanashi by spitting alcohol at them throughout the match. Shuten-dōji got their revenge when Takao had Takanashi in position for the Gin And Tonic. Sakaguchi punched Takao in the gut and Takanashi was able to counter the finisher into the Takatonic for the win.

The Rock ‘N’ Roll Death Match forced wrestlers to either dance or drink depending on what song was being played. When “Kuroku Nuritsubuse” by Eikichi Yazawa was used, everyone had to dance. When “Nippon Zenkoku Sakenomi Ondo” was used, everyone had to find beer and drink it.

Yasu Urano told the audience that this year’s Beer Garden Week was a great success. He called DDT a great organisation with jam-packed dreams. Urano then went on to beat MIKAMI in a match. MIKAMI afterwards noted that he lost again but will not give up wrestling. He said his dream was to be in DDT when they first ran Sumo Hall. When that was achieved he now had one goal left and that was to keep wrestling no matter what age he is. MIKAMI promised to show a new side of himself at Sumo Hall on 17/8.

Jun Kasai also wore stockings over his head during his match with DJ Nira. After the match Nira announced the name of his one man unit for the DDT Dramatic General Election. His unit is called the Yasu Urano Federation. Since Yasu Urano is already part of a team, Tsurumi Amon corrected it to the Nira Federation. Nira thinks it is a nice idea for him to be the only member of his team.

Tomomitsu Matsunaga is beginning to get into his new title of DDT Sumo Yokozuna. He was using more shoulder blocks and pushing around opponents in his match. He also invited Gota Ihashi to join himself and Michael Nakazawa for the General Election, pointing out that the Golden Storm Riders left him out of their group for the contest. Daisuke Sasaki denied the accusation and even admitted he now likes Ihashi a little bit. Ihashi said he liked being in the Golden Storm Riders but then gave Sasaki a German Suplex. He wants to be the best but felt he was being buried when he was with the Storm Riders. He will now get to show his true ability with Matsunaga & Nakazawa! Their new unit is called Leaders Thinking and they are the “Darkness Heroes who do not get the spotlight everyday!”

A 4 man tournament was announced to determine the next KO-D Openweight Title challenger. Keisuke Ishii, Akito, Konosuke Takeshita and Tetsuya Endo will take part. The wrestlers were chosen because they are all in their 20s or younger. The semi finals take place in Kasukabe on 24th August and the final is in Shinjuku on 31st August. The winner gets his title shot in Osaka on 13th September.

The KO-D Tag Team Titles will next be defended on the 24/8 Kasukabe show.

DDT will be releasing their own Kewpie dolls of Kota Ibushi, HARASHIMA and Danshoku Dino.

4. 3 Way Match: HARASHIMA defeated Yasu Urano and Akito when HARASHIMA pinned Akito with the Somato (15:25).

All members of Smile Squash faced each other in the main event of their Beer Garden show. HARASHIMA, Yasu Urano and Akito kept on switching their alliances with each other as the match went on. Akito got rid of Urano with the Kinniku Buster but HARASHIMA then gave Akito the Reverse Frankensteiner followed by the Somato to win the match. HARASHIMA told both his friends after the match that he had a lot of fun and there was a good atmosphere inside Shin-Kiba 1st RING.

A sumo wrestling tournament was the other highlight of the show. Tomomitsu Matsunaga won the 8-Man tournament to be crowned the DDT Sumo King. Konosuke Takeshita made it to the final and said it was good preparation for Hiroshi Tanahashi.

Akito and Danshoku Dino bumped heads and switched bodies during the show introductions. When it was time for Dino’s match with Shunma Katsumata, Akito came out wearing Dino’s clothes and wrestled the match as Dino. Later in the show Dino wrestled as Akito in the semi-main event. They eventually bumped heads again and everything went back to normal. Akito was left wondering why the Hell was he wearing Dino’s tights?

The semi-main event tag match turned into a massive dance party.

Some fun and games took place before the show. Konosuke Takeshita and timekeeper Mic Inoue faced each other in a race to complete a series of challenges. They had to do 30 squats, use their mouth to search for candy inside a bowl of flour, sell 5 drinks to the audience and finally eat an ice lolly. Takeshita took the lead by finishing the squats first but Inoue caught up and took the lead when he found the candy before Takeshita could. Inoue was able to sell 5 drinks but Takeshita caught up and was able to eat his ice lolly faster than Inoue to win.

Hiroshi Fukuda challenged an employee of the TEC video team to a Singing Showdown. They sang “We Will Rock You” by Queen and “Your Song” by Elton John. A winner could not be determined.

Finally, Shun Miyatake (Trainee) and Daisuke Kiso had a bra modelling contest that neither of them won. Amon Tsurumi was hosting the contest and at some point was stripped of his shirt, revealing he was wearing a bra too. Tsurumi received the most fan applause and therefore won the contest.

1. Former Student Wrestling Rhapsody: Soma Takao defeated Yumehito Imanari with the Diving Foot Stomp (9:21).
2. I Will Show You Pro Wrestling In Nagoya: Shigehiro Irie defeated Grampus Mask No. 4 with a Lariat (18:02).
3. Era Of Lariat Pro Is Over, Next Comes Knee Pro!: Danshoku Dino, Jumbo Kiku & Riho defeated Keisuke Ishii, Antonio Honda & Makoto Oishi when Riho pinned Oishi with the Somato (12:28).
4. Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie defeated Soma Takao & Atsushi Aoki when Ishii pinned Takao with the High Angle Double Arm DDT (23:01).

The main event featured the All Asia Tag Team Champions against the AJPW Jr. Heavyweight Champion… and Soma Takao. On the one hand, Takao had to face against his two friends Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie. On the other, he was teaming with Atsushi Aoki. Ishii pinned Takao and thanked everyone in the ring for their efforts, even Aoki. He then asked Aoki for a Jr. Title shot. Irie also went to ask for a title shot but Aoki immediately told him he was over the weight limit. Takao thanked Aoki for teaming with him, then asked for a title shot.

The Knee Pro Wrestling match featured everyone, including the referee doing Jumping Knee Strikes and pulling Jumbo Tsuruta poses.

The match between Shigehiro Irie and Grampus Mask No. 4 was supposed to celebrate wrestling in Nagoya. Unfortunately it took place under sadder circumstances because Nagoya’s Sportiva Arena will be closing down on 3rd August. Both Irie and Grampus cried over the news before their match began. Irie declared his love for Nagoya as he landed the match ending Beast Bomber.

1. Bra & Blindfold Watermelon Splitting Death Match: Antonio Honda defeated Daisuke Sasaki when Honda split the watermelon (13:50).
2. Wrestling Classroom From Those Days: Shigehiro Irie & Kazuaki Mihara defeated Konosuke Takeshita & TORU when Irie pinned TORU with the Beast Bomber (15:14).
3. Superman Comes To Japan!?: USA Offer Match: Hara Cena & Hiroshi Fukuda defeated Tsuyoso Michaels & HHHH (w/ Choina) when Fukuda pinned HHHH with the Perfect Plex (15:07).
4. Entetsu Challenge: Kenny Omega defeated Tetsuya Endo with the One-Winged Angel (19:52).

Tetsuya Endo was given a big opportunity by having a main event singles match against Kenny Omega. Endo had the crowd support which made Kenny feel a little bitter. Despite pulling out all the stops, Endo was eventually defeated but Kenny had to pull out the One-Winged Angel to win. Kenny said he was surprised at just how good Endo was today and that Endo worked hard because it was Happy Motel Day. Endo thanked him and said he joined DDT wanting to be like Kota Ibushi but he thinks Kenny is the best wrestler in the company. Kenny told Endo he could become a future KO-D Openweight Champion.

Ultimate Superstars Action returned for a special match. Hiroshi Fukuda came out as his Mr. Perfect character and teamed with Hara Cena (HARASHIMA) to battle HHHH (Danshoku Dino) & Tsuyoso Michaels (Antonio Honda). HHHH & Michaels were accompanied by Choina (Seiya Morohashi) and she interfered several times to dish out some low blows. One of those low blows was given to Michaels for some reason and he had to be taken to the back. HHHH used a hammer to weaken his opponents and then gave Fukuda the Pedigree. All of a sudden “Real American” played over the speakers and out came Antonio Hogan! HHHH hit Hogan with the hammer and followed with the Pedigree but Hogan Hulked up. He fought back and gave HHHH the Leg Drop. Hara Cena followed up with the Attitude Adjustment and Fukuda brought the match to an end with the Perfect Plex.

Kazuaki Mihara made himself look like Shigehiro Irie when they teamed together. He had the matching gear and also the matching green mohawk. After the match Konosuke Takeshita told the audience that Mihara and TORU may become big stars someday.

For the opener a watermelon was placed in a neutral corner of the ring. Antonio Honda and Daisuke Sasaki had to wear bras and blindfolds in order to wrestle. The first person to either split the watermelon or strip off their opponent’s bra would win. Honda wandered out of the ring and into the audience while Sasaki grabbed Daisuke Kiso and took off his shirt, revealing Kiso was wearing a bra too. Honda found Shun Miyatake (Trainee) at ringside and also discovered that he was wearing a bra under his shirt. Both Honda and Sasaki gave up trying to strip each other and instead went searching for the watermelon. Sasaki thought he found it and performed an Elbow Drop, hitting nothing but the canvas. Honda then tripped over Sasaki and landed on the watermelon, smashing it to pieces. Honda celebrated by eating a piece while the rest was cleaned off the ring and thrown into a garbage bag.
