LiLiCo will be in attendance. She is still the current Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion. I’m certain we’ll be introduced to her partners for Sumo Hall. Who could she get to face the Kawaii Connection? Should she fight fire with fire in this situation?

No word yet on how many prizes will be on offer but the winner of the Rumble section will get a guaranteed KO-D Openweight Title match. The other prizes are usually Money In The Bank style contracts.

Ken Ohka and The World’s Cutest Tag Team will all be wrestling on the show.

The biggest DDT show on the calander has come and gone for another year. Sumo Hall was host to the seventh “PETER PAN” supershow, so called because everybody in DDT are adults who refuse to grow up. However long time followers of the company should notice something odd about the attendence. This was the seventh straight Super No Vacancy Full House for “PETER PAN” but DDT only announced a crowd of 6,670 fans in attendance. That is around 2,000-2,500 less than their previous announced attendances in the building. Even weirder is how the show has been advertised as being sold out for weeks until more seats near the entrance (which was a lot bigger this year) were made available days before the show. Either DDT booked less seats in the building this year or maybe they are being more honest about their crowd numbers. DDT will have two shows in Sumo Hall next year on 21st March and 28th August. It will be interesting to see what they draw for both events. Also this was a really long show. The dark match began at 13:45 local time and ended at around 19:00.

The main event was between two good friends turned rivals. KUDO put the KO-D Openweight Title on the line against Yukio Sakaguchi in the battle of Shuten-dōji. Sakaguchi went into the match with his hair, beard and eyebrows dyed gold for the occassion. The third member of the stable Masa Takanashi spent the match standing at a neutral corner, refusing to pick a side. The match was as kick heavy as expected. Sakaguchi kicked out of the Diving Double Knee Drop while KUDO survived the Cobra Clutch. Sakaguchi ran to the ropes for the Penalty Kick but KUDO met him on the rebound with a Backspin Kick. KUDO went for the Diving Double Knee Drop again but Sakaguchi met him with the Flying Knee Strike followed by the Right Knee Of God in the corner for the three count.

KUDO was stunned by the result but accepted defeat and wrapped the belt around Sakaguchi’s waist. After the two hugged each other Sakaguchi was handed the giant cheque of 2 million yen from Good Com Assets. All of Shuten-dōji agreed to literally split the cheque three ways and share it with each other. Sakaguchi spoke on the mic and said he lived a life well worn. Today he arrived at this wonderful ring after wrestling for three years. He said he achieved his dream ambition of winning the KO-D Title and he did so on the big stage along with his “big brother” KUDO. Sakaguchi said tomorrow will be the beginning of his second chapter and he challenged anyone to take the belt from him. The show ended with all three approaching a shrine placed by the ring entrance. Sakaguchi stood in the shrine and was lifted up by the DDT wrestlers. He was paraded around ringside to celebrate his championship victory before reuniting with KUDO & Takanashi for a toast that involved banging a festival drum and drinking sake.

Hiroshi Tanahashi defeated HARASHIMA in the Dramatic Dream Match between two aces. HARASHIMA had the crowd support in his favour but Tanahashi took control by targeting his opponent’s left knee. The crowd booed but Tanahashi ignored it to focus on the match. However he did take time to play the air guitar while working the knee for more heel heat. HARASHIMA turned the tables when he sent Tanahashi into the turnbuckles with the John Woo Dropkick. Foot Stomps and a Superplex couldn’t put the New Japan superstar away and he regained control with the Dragon Screw followed by a Texas Cloverleaf. HARASHIMA fought back with a High Kick but his Somato attempt was countered into the Sling Blade. HARASHIMA eventually hit the Somato but was in too much pain to get the pin in time. He went for the Swan Dive Somato but Tanahashi avoided it. HARASHIMA hit a stiff punch out of desperation but Tanahashi gave him the Dharma Suplex and won with the the High Fly Flow. After the match HARASHIMA offered to shake hands but Tanahashi refused. Tanahashi recently said in a podcast that he hates shaking hands after a match and he doesn’t understand why some wrestlers do it immediately after a heated fight. Tanahashi vented his frustrations in the post-match interview.

Finally one of the strongest teams in Japan was defeated to bring the KO-D Tag Team Titles back to DDT. The Golden☆Storm Riders beat Daisuke Sekimoto & Yuji Okabayashi when Kota Ibushi pinned Sekimoto for the first time in his career. Ibushi & Daisuke Sasaki had some help with a trolley at ringside to wheel the champions down the entrance ramp to the ringside floor. Sasaki did a high risk dive off the top rope to a seated Okabayashi at ringside. The champions powered their way into control and German Suplexed Sasaki into oblivion. The Riders came back when Sasaki lifted up Sasaki in the Electric Chair position on the ring apron. Ibushi jumped onto the top rope behind them, grabbed Sekimoto and German Suplexed him into the ring! Sasaki wiped out Okabayashi with a Suicide Dive allowing Ibushi to pin Sekimoto with the Phoenix Splash.

Ken Ohka is the most important part of the Gunma Wrestle Dream Factory, at least according to Super Sasadango Machine’s PowerPoint presentation. The presentations is title “How Ken Ohka is the 6-Man Tag Team Champion” and it contained a secret Sasadango discovered about Ohka. Aparrantly on 8th April, 1977 Ohka’s parents visited Tokyo to watch Antonio Inoki fight Muhammad Ali. That was also the night when Ken Ohka was conceived which means Inoki’s fighting spirit is indirectly tied to Ohka’s genes! Illustrations of Ohka doing Inoki’s grounded leg kicks were shown on the screen. The plan was fot Ohka to cut down Team Drift with the Leg Kicks then shove their faces into Danshoku Dino’s backside. The parasites in Dino’s rear end will fill the victim’s nasal cavity and render him light headed, allowing Sasadango to finish the job. The plan didn’t work as intended. Team Drift weren’t going to lose the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles when they were debuting new outfits. Soma Takao was hit with Ohka’s Leg Kicks, Dino’s Danshoku Driver and then Sasadango’s Vertical Drop Lehmann Shock but he was saved by his partners from getting pinned. Ohka went for the Spear Of Flame but Keisuke Ishii stopped him dead with the Kneel Kick. Takao then hit the Gin And Tonic to score a successful title defence and remain undefeated in “PETER PAN”. After the match Dino, Sasadango & Ohka regrouped and decided on a new permanent unit name. Taking inspiration on Ohka’s growth from young lion to champion they chose the name #OhkaEmpire (#大家帝国). They asked for a title rematch to take place at Korakuen Hall on 27th September but Ishii refused and the champs walked out.

“Thunder Storm” played over the speakers to mark the one time appearance of Genichiro Tenryu in DDT! Saki Akai wore a new all white costume to mark the occasion while Meiko Satomura tried her best to keep Tenryu and Shuji Ishikawa from going at it before the bell. Tenryu punched her in the face. He did it again to counter a Short Range Lariat. Satomura got some measure of revenge with a few Low Kicks. She had a much easier time in the ring with Akai. Tenryu did more of his punches but this time to Kazusada Higuchi. The match broke down with all six fighting in the ring until Sanshiro Takagi slammed Higuchi with the Spiccoli Driver and then joined Tenryu in giving Higuchi a Lariat Sandwich. One Sit Down Himawari Bomb later and it was all over.

Tetsuya Endo is back and Konosuke Takeshita got new wrestling gear to celebrate. They also had a match together. Both men wanted to steal the show and went full blast. Endo was surely trying to make up for lost time. He went for the Sky Twister Press but missed, allowing Takeshita to hit a Lariat and then the German Suplex to win. This was Takeshita’s first win in a “PETER PAN” show as well as in Sumo Hall.

I write up a paragraph about how today could be Antonio Honda’s time in the spotlight. Then Honda picks a wacky stipulation for his DDT Extreme Title defence involving bras, blindfolds and a gigantic claw trap. I really should have seen this coming. Honda wanted a match based on fear and decided a Blindfold Bra Stripping Tiger Trap Death Match was most suitable. Both himself and Masa Takanashi had to wear a blindfold and a bra. Meanwhile a large tiger trap was placed in the ring for them to avoid. The match could be won by usual means or by stripping the opponent of his bra. Late in the match, Honda found a mic and told the audience to give him their bras so he could power up just like how Goku can gather energy from other living beings! Cameraman Norikazu Fujioka answered the call and took his shirt off to reveal his bra. Honda said needed more. Suddenly Michael Nakazawa appears wearing a bra! Nakazawa said he took a flight from Singapore this morning to be at the show and he wants to help his friend Honda. Honda was given the bras and he wrapped them around his fist. He climbed the ropes and delivered the Diving Fist Drop… right into the tiger trap! Takanashi got his hands on Honda and tried to capitalise with the Takatonic but he himself then stepped onto the tiger trap! Honda ripped off Takanashi’s bra and was declared the winner! Takanashi had to drag along the tiger trap stuck to his leg as he walked backstage.

LiLiCo made her official pro wrestling debut despite winning the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title at last year’s “PETER PAN” show. She was in a Tag Team Battle Royal with Suguru Miyatake as her partner and wore an eye-catching black outfit with wings and face paint over her eyes. She & Miyatake were one of the final two teams along with Aja Kong & Makoto Oishi. Kong was holding the Iron Man Title LiLiCo wanted but Kong was too powerful for both her and Miyatake. Kong pinned Miyatake but after the match raised LiLiCo’s hand as a show of respect. LiLiCo snuck behind Kong and School Boyed her to try and win the Iron Man Title but Kong kicked out. Kong angrily told LiLiCo “Welcome to professional wrestling!” and challenged LiLiCo to try and take the belt from her anytime, anyplace.

Mao Inoue & Mizuki Watase both made their debuts in the opening match. Inoue wore black and purple camouflage shorts while Watase’s ring gear was in black and gold. They were put through the grind by Yasu Urano, Akito & Ryota Nakatsu. Akito even dared them to do their best Dropkicks on him. The rookies showed some spirit but Akito put an end to it when he tapped out Watase with the Scorpion Lock.

“Hollywood” Stalker Ichikawa didn’t understand the rules of the King Of Dark Championship and before the match began said he will win the title. Gota Ihashi convinced the ref to do fast counts but it backfired when Ichikawa pinned him and got a fast three count. Afterwards Ichikawa was confused because he wasn’t given the championship for winning the match. Ihashi tried to retire the belt but Amon Tsurumi refused to let it happen. Stalker demanded to have the belt. Tsurumi told him to go back to Kobe.

Kota Ibushi will release his autobiography on 28th October. There will be two versions available: “The Strongest Edition” and “The Most Mad Edition”.

Two guest names were announced for “OSAKA OCTOPUS 2015” on 28th November. Comedians RG and Ryota Yamasato will both wrestle at the show. Yamasato was sitting by the commentary table during the announcement and he was surprised to learn he will be wrestling.

Muscle Sakai will film DDT’s second movie “DDT Liberal Arts Pro Wrestling” later this year. The first movie “DDT Wrestling Cannonball 2014” was released on DVD today and available at the show.

This was already announced back in February but as a reminder DDT will hold two shows in Sumo Hall next year. The dates are 21st March and 28th August. A Falls Count Anywhere Street Wrestling Treasure Hunt match was confirmed for the 21st March show.

In just a few short days DDT will be in Sumo Hall for the seventh annual “PETER PAN” extravaganza! You’d think the area would be sick of pro wrestling after last week but ticket sales suggest otherwise. The show is almost entirely sold out and DDT had to open up extra seats next to the stage to meet demand. The big stories surrounding the show are a dream match between a once in a lifetime talent and the indie world’s strongest warrior, a battle between two brothers in arms over DDT’s greatest prize, two Storm Riders attempting to take gold from some strong style golems, a trio of lifelong companions getting the band back together in search of glory, a grumpy old sumo’s short stay during his journey to retirement, the return of a future main eventer in the making, a day in the limelight for one of DDT’s longest serving wrestlers and some new blood making their debut.

0. King Of Dark Title: Gota Ihashi (c) Vs “Hollywood” Stalker Ichikawa

But before we get to all that we have to get through the pre-show. Created back in February, the King Of Dark Title has been an albatross for some of the worst and unluckiest wrestlers in DDT. Those who hold the championship are banished to wrestle in dark matches until they win. Still, it’s more valuable than the King Of The Mountain Title. Gota Ihashi has been the face of the championship for it’s short history, racking up a total of 18 defeats/defences during his two reigns. Ihashi has done everything he could to get rid of the belt but every plan has ended in failure. His embarrassment continues when he goes against one of the most legendary losers in pro wrestling, “Hollywood” Stalker Ichikawa! Ihashi is confident in his ability to win but he should underestimate Stalker at his peril! I’m pretty sure Stalker has won more matches than Ihashi ever did.

1. Mao Inoue & Mizuki Watase Debut Match: Yasu Urano, Akito & Ryota Nakatsu defeated Kota Umeda, Mao Inoue & Mizuki Watase

The opener features the debut of two new wrestlers. Mao Inoue is an 18 year old Youtube wrestler from Miyagi who was scouted by Sanshiro Takagi. Mizuki Watase is a 24 year old comedian from Nagano and is most known for his work in Tenori Tiger. They were both surprised to learn their debut match is taking place so soon in Sumo Hall. They will be placed in the ring with DNA wrestlers Ryota Nakatsu and Kota Umeda as well as veterans Yasu Urano & Akito. Akito’s inclusion here is pretty disappointing to be honest. He was on fire with his DDT Extreme Title run throughout the year. Him in the opening match centred around the rookies is a step down. However DDT has a knack for discovering talented new wrestlers lately. The DNA shows have been proof of that and Nakatsu is one of the stand outs. Akito might be just the guy needed to help break in the rookies.

2. Time Difference Tag Battle Royal: Aja Kong & Makoto Oishi Vs LiLiCo & Suguru Miyatake Vs Toru Owashi & Kazuki Hirata Vs MIKAMI & Shunma Katsumata Vs Gorgeous Matsuno & Great Kojika Vs Tomomitsu Matsunaga & Kouki Iwasaki Vs Hiroshi Fukuda & Yoshihiko Vs Hoshitango & Mio Shirai

Usually the Battle Royal match in these shows are for the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title. However this year is a little bit different. We’re getting a Tag Team Battle Royal and all of the attention is on the official pro wrestling debut of LiLiCo. The half Swedish, half Japanese celebrity was a guest on last year’s show and she ended up winning the Iron Man Title. This time she’s back to give pro wrestling a proper go. She picked Suguru Miyatake as her partner after he impressed her with his physique. Unfortunately for LiLiCo, the current Iron Man champion Aja Kong demanded to be in the match and is forcing Makoto Oishi to team with her. Kong is setting her sights on LiLiCo and looking to end her wrestling career before it even begins.

The rest of the field is made up of DDT regulars and a few guests. MIKAMI left DDT a few months ago to become a freelancer but he returns to team with the promising rookie Shunma Katsumata. Tomomitsu Matsunaga & Kouki Iwasaki recently formed Pigging 2015 with Gota Ihashi much to the annoyance of everyone else. Gorgeous Matsuno & The Great Kojika are here to be the classy old gentlemen who puts the young whipper-snappers in their place. Kazuki Hirata wants to dance while Toru Owashi has to tolerate him. Hiroshi Fukuda combines his American sports entertainment style with the power of Yoshihiko to form a force of unbelievable strength. Last but not least Hoshitango & Mio Shirai make up the team of random character selects from a custom Fire Pro Wrestling save. Shirai will be retiring on 20th September and said she is happy to be in a crazy DDT battle royal one last time.

3. DDT Extreme Title – Uchikami! Presents: Antonio Honda (c) Vs Masa Takanashi

Antonio Honda has had quite the career in DDT. He’s been a Cuban manager with Tourette’s, an Italian drug lord, a Hawaiian Ricky Steamboat knock off and a kleptomaniac soldier. He introduced Hulk Hogan Gymnastics to the world and just recently had the honour of fighting an invisible Mel Gibson. But the spotlight has never really been on him for long. There was that one night at the end of 2010 when he became the Interim KO-D Openweight Champion but that was short lived. Honda accepts that he is approaching his twilight years in the ring but he’s not giving up just yet. Every dog has his day and Honda could get his inside Sumo Hall. An upset victory over Akito in July earned Honda the DDT Extreme Title. Unfortunately since then his feel good story has been interrupted by Masa Takanashi. Honda lost a few non-title matches to Takanashi, who later became the No. 1 Contender for the Extreme Title.

Takanashi remembers when he fought Danshoku Dino for the Extreme Title at the very first “RYOGOKU PETER PAN” back in 2009. He lost then but he intends to win the belt this time. Honda is keeping the stipulation for the match a secret until the day of the show. All he will say is the match will use fear as a theme and it is inspired by a previous match the two had together. Honda says the rules scare even himself and he must overcome that fear to defend his title.

4. Tetsuya Endo Comeback Match: Konosuke Takeshita Vs Tetsuya Endo

Tetsuya Endo has been out of action for four months when he broke his third metatarsal in his left foot. For his return, Endo will face his Happy Motels tag team partner Konosuke Takeshita in a battle between two of DDT’s future main eventers. Endo is believes this match is as important to him as a championship match and he will treat it as such. He’s been working backstage and at ringside during DDT’s shows while he recovered and has seen in person the improvement in Takeshita’s Dropkick. Takeshita said he will go full force from the beginning and he thinks this match will be fighting against the two main events for the best bout of the show.

5. Genichiro Tenryu Retirement Road Round 15: Genichiro Tenryu, Sanshiro Takagi & Saki Akai Vs Shuji Ishikawa, Kazusada Higuchi & Meiko Satomura

The legendary Genichiro Tenryu will wrestle in DDT for the first and only time this Sunday. This won’t be the weirdest thing he’s ever done in wrestling, that would be dressing up as HG in HUSTLE. Tenryu sent in some words about the other wrestlers in his match. He noted Sanshiro Takagi’s dexterity and how nothing ever worries him. He is quite pleased to team with Saki Akai and knows her father’s history in boxing. Akai is hoping she will inherit Tenryu’s patented Goo Punch. That is a lot better for her than the original idea of Tenryu Vs Akai in a singles match. Tenryu calls Shuji Ishikawa a natural wrestler and acknowledges the physical fitness of his fellow sumo Kazusada Higuchi. Due to their sumo backgrounds Higuchi has a few similar qualities with Tenryu and some of Higuchi’s movements does remind me of Tenryu. Higuchi admits he is nervous to be in the same ring as Tenryu but he wants Tenryu to fight him with all of his body and soul. Meanwhile Akai is preparing for Meiko Satomura and remembers when they fought last November. Satomura submitted her with a Sleeper Hold and she’s been frustrated over the results ever since.

6. KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles: Keisuke Ishii, Shigehiro Irie & Soma Takao (c) Vs Danshoku Dino, Super Sasadango Machine & Ken Ohka

Last year Team Dream Futures were the challengers, this year they are the champions. Team Drift currently have the most successful KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Title run in the belts’ history with three successful defences (it’s a hot potato championship). Facing them is a trio reunited by the power of friendship. Danshoku Dino, Super Sasadango Machine and Ken Ohka consider each other close friends from the same generation of DDT wrestlers. However Ohka has been missing from this group for years. He’s been busy forming a new identity as the leader of Ganbare☆Wrestling. Ohka even did the unthinkable and very briefly became the KO-D Openweight Champion back in June. It took some convincing but Ohka is back in DDT as a new man. Together with Dino & Sasadango they are the Gamba Wrestle Dream Factory.

Happy reunions aside the challengers have a big challenge ahead of them. Team Drift are one of the longest running stables in DDT. Also Soma Takao is still undefeated at “PETER PAN” with a 6-0 record. Tensions flared at the press conference when Keisuke Ishii gave a lot of praise to Dino and Sasadango but gave Ohka a backhanded compliment. Ohka took offence and dared Ishii to slap him. He did. Ohka then dared Takao to slap him. He did. Ohka then dared Shigehiro Irie to hit him. Irie sent him reeling with a headbutt. The challengers left to get Ohka some treatment but he returned and dared Irie to headbutt him again! Irie did so and Ohka was left in tears from the pain.

7. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Daisuke Sekimoto & Yuji Okabayashi (c) Vs Kota Ibushi & Daisuke Sasaki

The unfortunately named Strong BJ have been unstoppable in DDT ever since they won the KO-D Tag Team Titles in Saitama Super Arena back in February. It seems like there is no one in DDT capable of beating Daisuke Sekimoto & Yuji Okabayashi. Right now it seems like DDT’s last hope of ever reclaiming the belts lie with Kota Ibushi & Daisuke Sasaki. However Ibushi is no doubt tired after the G1 Climax and Sasaki has had no luck with trying to beat Okabayashi in the meantime. The flash Hurricanrana Sasaki has used to great effect all year did not work on Big Japan’s golem. He is still confident that himself & Ibushi are the strongest team on Earth and will take down the champs. He gave himself & Ibushi a 65% chance of winning. Okabayashi’s response is he & Sekimoto will crush the challengers with 120% of their strength. While Sasaki and Okabayashi are arguing over percentages, Sekimoto was probably just thinking “Not this shit again” to himself.

8. Dramatic Dream Match: HARASHIMA Vs Hiroshi Tanahashi

It’s not closing out the show but this is the marquee match. The ace of DDT versus the ace of New Japan. Or if you want to be cynical, the John Cena of DDT versus the John Cena of New Japan. Either way “___WinsLOL” can apply to either result. But why be negative about this? We’re going to get a great match. HARASHIMA has been on top of his game this year and if anyone deserves a shot against this year’s G1 winner, it’s him. Hiroshi Tanahashi previously wrestled in DDT at last year’s “PETER PAN” against Konosuke Takeshita. He sent a message to DDT saying HARASHIMA is a refreshing challenger and he expects HARASHIMA to bring his A-game. HARASHIMA called Tanahashi “the most delicious opponent” now that he is coming into the show as the G1 winner.

9. KO-D Openweight Title – Good Com Asset Presents: KUDO (c) Vs Yukio Sakaguchi

The semi-main event has the most attention but the main event is the most dramatic match on this card. To sweeten the deal a 2 million yen cash prize will be awarded to the winner courtesy of the match’s sponsor Good Com Asset. The KO-D Openweight Title is also on the line between two wrestlers who consider each other as brothers. They share a bond over fine liquor but the high tension of main eventing DDT’s biggest show of the year nearly split them apart. KUDO has been champion for most of the summer and did not flinch when Yukio Sakaguchi won the King Of DDT tournament to earn this title shot. However a series of defeats created a rift between the two and KUDO started to question whether or not Sakaguchi deserved to have the title shot. Sakaguchi himself had doubts and at one point even requested to be removed from the match! However fortunes turned around and Sakaguchi found his way back to a winning streak. Sakaguchi regained his confidence and warned KUDO that he was coming for him and the title! Their friendship was still frosty as they fought each other in tag matches up until the end of Beer Garden week. The two were full of mutual respect for each other and fist bumped to signal a recovery of their friendship. With all of the bad blood out now of the way there is nothing stopping them from going all out to prove who is more deserving to be champion. KUDO calls this match a clash of souls and promises to drink the most delicious alcohol in his life when he wins.

There is also more at stake than just the championship. ¥ 2,000,000 will be rewarded to the winner of the main event courtesy of the match’s sponsor Good Com Asset, a real estate corporation. The card for DDT’s biggest show of the year is now filled up. Due to the double KO on Sunday, HARASHIMA is still the KO-D Openweight Champion yet Kenny Omega still has a claim for a title shot. So Kenny has been added to the HARASHIMA Vs Isami Kodaka main event at Sumo Hall. I think the 3 Way match is sudden death, so HARASHIMA could lose the title without getting pinned.

Kota Ibushi is slowly recovering from the concussion he suffered earlier this month. He has begun to train again in preparation for his return at Sumo Hall. Ibushi was allowed to choose who his opponent will be. He wanted it to be someone he learned a lot from. As a joke he picked sumo wrestler Hakuho Sho, who is currently undefeated in the Nagoya Grand Sumo Tournament. Then he picked Sanshiro Azuma from a manga called Fighting Detectives. Ibushi finally gave a serious answer and decided Shuji Kondo from WRESTLE-1 will be his opponent. Ibushi and Kondo had matches together in dragondoor and El Dorado during 2005 and 2006. They last fought each other at the 2011 “ALL TOGETHER” show. Ibushi believes he developed his style because of his matches with Kondo.

LiLiCo and the Up Up Girls are some of the musical guests appearing on the show.

Kenny Beats Kondo, Insults KAI, KO-D Tag Title In STYLE-E

Another All Japan Jr. Heavyweight bites the dust in the company’s attempt to unseat Kenny Omega as their champion. This time it was Shuji Kondo that stepped up to the plate only to fall to the One Winged Angel. After the match KAI came out to challenge Omega to a title match. Kenny extended his hand for a handshake only to smack KAI over the head with the title belt. He then threw insults at KAI, calling him a fool who was not a hero to the All Japan fans. Omega could next defend the AJPW Jr. Heavyweight Title back home in DDT on April 1st when he faces Shigehiro Irie in a singles match. That is of course if Irie drops enough weight to qualify as a Jr. Heavyweight.

A few days before Sanshiro Takagi & Takao Soma were supposed to defend their KO-D Tag Team Title in DDT, they go over to STYLE-E to defend the belts against Masato Shibata & Shota. Although the challengers got some momentum during the match, the match ended with Takagi giving Shota a Spiccoli Driver and then handing him over to Soma for a Go 2 Sleep and finally the Boma Ye to win the match.

A few months back, around the time Kota Ibushi was the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion for New Japan Pro Wrestling, his tag team partner Kenny Omega decided that his goal for 2011 was to go over to All Japan Pro Wrestling and win their Jr. Heavyweight belt. Today he achieved that goal in Sumo Hall, an arena where success had previously eluded him. Kenny defeated the champion KAI after hitting him with the Croyt’s Wrath twice, once from the top rope. Kenny now aims to be the cool champion that All Japan is currently lacking. He already has his first challenger lined up. Minoru has stepped up to grab the first title shot and is someone that Kenny lost to during the AJPW Jr. Heavyweight League that took place just last month. However, Kenny’s response to the challenge was he wanted the title match to take place in DDT.

Several DDT wrestlers attended the show to be in Kenny’s corner for the match. Kota Ibushi, Keisuke Ishii and Michael Nakazawa were there to show support. Also some of them might have also gone along so they could meet the Momoiro Clover Z pop group who were performing during the show.

5b. Kazuki Hirata eliminated Super Shit Machine with a Horizontal Cradle (7:10).
5c. Tomomitsu Matsunaga eliminated Kazuki Hirata with a Back Drop (7:46).
5d. Hikaru Sato eliminated Yoshiaki Yago by Ring Out (12:40).
5e. Minoru Suzuki eliminated Hikaru Sato with the Gotch-Style Piledriver (14:36).

A Super No Vacancy crowd at Tokyo Ryogoku Kokugikan watched KUDO fight with all of his heart and strength as he defeated Shuji Ishikawa to become the new KO-D Openweight Champion! Both men were left battered and bruised after an intense main event that went on for nearly half an hour. Shuji threw everything he had at KUDO. The Fire Thunder Driver, the Splash Mountain, a Giant Tiger Suplex, even the Kitchen Sink (you lot remember that’s what the Running Knee Strike to the gut is called in some places, right?) but he couldn’t keep KUDO down. KUDO meanwhile sent his strike heavy offence into overdrive, raining down kicks and punches to Shuji late into the match to send him reeling. KUDO had to hit the Diving Double Knee Drop three times in a row to finally beat Ishikawa and become champion. The entire DDT roster came out to congratulate KUDO after the match. KUDO thanked all of his fans and friends for supporting him and he would defend the belt against everybody. He then approached Sanshiro Takagi and told him ” Mr. Takagi, 10 years ago DDT picked me up. Thank you.”

Takagi then had an announcement to make. DDT will be celebrating its 15th Anniversary next year and Takagi wanted to celebrate it in a big way. So he announced that DDT’s 15th Anniversary show will be held in the Nippon Budokan! The show is happening thanks to funding from the Nippon Broadcasting System radio network, who will be sponsoring the event.

Danshoku Dino scored the biggest win of his career when he defeated “The Beast” Bob Sapp in the semi-main event. Things looked bleak for Dino in the first round, fought under “Bob Rules”. He was quickly given a yellow card for grabbing Sapp’s groin and was thrown around ringside like a rag doll. Round 2 was completely different since “Gay Rules” were now in effect. Dino had a lot of fun trying to molest Sapp, who was so distraught by what was going on he tried to hide behind referee Kyohei Wada in order to get away from his opponent. Sapp must have been so thankful when that round ended as the third round returned to his ruleset. Dino was nearly defeated by KO twice in this round but he recovered to pull down Sapp’s shorts. He then kissed him, gave him a Danshoku Driver and kissed him again. Sapp was so overwhelemed he was brought down to his hands and knees. Dino then saw his chance and he rolled over the big man with with the Gaydo Clutch to win the match! It was such a big deal that the Pride FC “Victory” song began playing in the background. Afterwards Dino asked Sapp on the mic if he was gay. Sapp denied he was gay. Tsurumi Amon replied by saying he was gay. Keisuke Ishii then entered the ring to say he was gay. Kyohei Wada then said he was gay. One by one, DDT wrestlers spread around the audience all stood up and said they were gay, leading to the entire audience to hold up their hands and say they were all gay. Feeling emotionally touched by such a wonderful moment, Bob Sapp took the mic and said “I am gay”. All at once, everybody then replied with “Go right ahead!” Sapp realised he was tricked by everyone into saying he was gay and he stormed out of the ring.

The IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship match between Kota Ibushi and Prince Devitt was just as much of a sprint as their previous matches against each other. Ibushi made sure Devitt would not return to New Japan with their title and won an exciting match with the Phoenix Splash.

The DDT General Election will return for a second year with the election period taking place between 21st August and 25th September. 48 wrestlers who are either employed or affiliated with DDT will plead for the fans’ votes. At the end of the election, the top 18 contestants will all participate at a special DDT show held in Korakuen Hall later this year. The actual winner of the election will recieve a KO-D Openweight Title shot at that event as well as a cash prize. Danshoku Dino was last year’s winner.

The 5 Vs 5 Elimination match became a bit too chaotic when it came down to the final two men. Akito was the first one to bite the dust when he submitted to Yoshiaki Yago’s Cobra Twist. Kazuki Hirata stunned everyone when he eliminated Super Shit Machine with a flash pin but he was then immediately dealt with by Tomimitsu Matsunaga and Kengo Ohka. Hikaru Sato got rid of Yago but was demolished by Minoru Suzuki. Sanshiro Takagi sacrificed himself to eliminate Suzuki by causing a Double Ring Out, leaving Takao Soma to battle with Matsunaga & Ohka. Soma was able to eliminate Ohka by Ring Out with a Missile Dropkick, but then the rest of the Susan Shit Heart Superstars interfered. Referee Kiso Daisuke was then knocked out cold. Kyohei Wada came to the rescue wearing a DDT referee shirt and became the man in charge, ordering everyone except Soma and Matsunaga to leave the ring. Matsunaga was mad at Wada and started insulting him, so Wada slapped the taste out of his mouth and tried to throw him over the top rope! Soma stopped him as he wanted to beat his former ally in a convincing manner. It took a couple of Elbow Smashes and Schweins but Soma was finally able to win the match with the Diving Guillotine Drop. Here’s an interesting fact, ever since his debut at the first Ryogoku show Takao Soma has been undefeated at all three DDT Sumo Hall shows.

Hikaru Sato Vs Minoru Suzuki was announced for DDT’s 28/8 Korakuen Hall show. Sanshiro Takagi also challenged Suzuki to a match but wants it to take place at DDT’s 15th Anniversary show next year.

Masa Takanashi & Daisuke Sekimoto are your new KO-D Tag Team Champions! The 4-Way over the belts was action packed as four very different teams battled it out to become the best team in DDT. Kenny Omega & Michael Nakazawa eliminated GENTARO & Yasu Urano 13 minutes into the match when they both pinned Urano after the Croyt’s Wrath. Sekimoto then got rid of them with a devastating German Suplex on Nakazawa. HERO! used all of his uncharacteristic dirty tactics on Sekimoto to steal the victory but Yukinori Matsui eventually caught him in the act when HERO! grabbed the ropes for leverage when pinning Takanashi. Soon HERO! and Takanashi were both on the top turnbuckle trying to Superplex each other. Sekimoto tried to interrupt but HARASHIMA stopped him with a Reverse Frankensteiner. Sekimoto rolled back onto his feet and immediately German Suplexed HARASHIMA before collapsing. This left Takanashi and HERO! as the only active wrestlers left in the match. Takanashi won the exchange up top and hit an Avalanche Taka Tonic to pin HERO! and win the belts! Fifteen months ago Daisuke Sekimoto and Masa Takanashi fought in what was called a “Miracle Match” by fans. Now they rule the DDT Tag Team division as KO-D Tag Team Champions!

Match #3 saw two of DDT’s all time greats go toe-to-toe. MIKAMI did not waste anytime and dived onto Poison Sawada JULIE during his entrance into the ring. Sawada used his Snake Magic to good effect until MIKAMI channelled his own magic to give his opponent a taste of his own medicine. MIKAMI almost won with a 450 Splash but as he had Sawada pinned, he was suddenly blinded with Posion Mist. Sawada rolled him over in a cradle but only got a nearfall. MIKAMI brought his ladder into play and both men fought on top of it. That ended badly for Sawada as he was knocked to the canvas, allowing MIKAMI to hit the Volcano Bomb from the top of the ladder to win. Both wrestlers shook hands after the match.

The Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title Battle Royal was as loony as you would expect it to be. The most recent title change before this match took place a three days before the show during a press conference. Champion Antonio Honda tried to demonstrate his affections for busty joshi idol Yuzuki Aikawa only to get knocked out by the feisty lass with a kick to the chest. Daisuke Sasaki stepped in to calm her down only to get kicked into the chest as well. Sasaki fell on top of Honda and Yukinori Matsui counted the pinfall, meaning Sasaki was now the champion heading into the match. The Battle Royal saw plenty of crazy moments but Mr. #6 was the star of the match. His highlights included hitting an entire line of opponents with a Shining Wizard, out Sumo-ing Hoshitango out of the ring and revealing his inner Warsman by submitting DJ Nira with the Palo Special. Antonio Honda won the match and won back his title by submitting Sasaki with the Octopus Hold. But the 24/7 rule struck again as it always does when Gorgeous Matsuno snuck up to Honda on the ramp and gave him a School Boy to leave Sumo Hall as champion!

The young rivalry between Keisuke Ishii and Shigehiro Irie properly opened the show. Irie used his size and weight advantage as best as he could but Irie held on and even had the strength to give his rival a German Suplex. It took him two Kneel Kicks to knock the big man down and out but Ishii proved he was the better man on the night.

The Anal Blast opening ceremony took place with Michael Nakazawa assuming the position. Dick Togo was the special guest detonator and he came out dressed in Cuban military clothing and a Che Guevara shirt. He tried to set off the dynamite with his gun but kept on missing his target. So he suddenly brought out a bazooka and yelled “Adiós, Michael!” His shot was right on target, the show officialy began and Nakazawa is now unable to sit down for a month.

The pre-show match for the Big China Unified Nakahara Tag Team Titles began outside the arena. Sanshiro Takagi & Munenori Sawa came out armed with paddles and an inflatable raft while Ricky Fuji brought along a guitar and The Great Sasuke appeared with wings attached to his arms. The match travelled into building and over to the merch table manned by former Union wrestler DT-YUTA. They were about to bring the fight over to an area marked “AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY” but Kyohei Wada stopped them from going any further. Goro Tsurumi then made his annual cameo appearance dressed as a chef. The match then went to ringside where Sawa and Sasuke both got on bicycles and crashed into each other while Takagi splashed Fuji through a table. The tour of destruction then went into the dressing room where the wrestlers bumped into the Great Sasuke’s rock band, The Crazy Crew. After a performance of “You Give Love A Bad Name” by everyone in attendence, the wrestlers brawled into the bath area. Takagi finally ended the match by Power Bomb Sasuke into a bath filled with floating rubber ducks and pinning him. Takagi & Sawa are now your new Big China Tag Team Champions!

For the third year in a row, DDT embarks on a big adventure with the Tokyo Ryogoku Kokugikan, aka Sumo Hall as its final destination. The original show from 2009 was a big risk for the company but became a big success due to Japanese fans being intrigued that a small wrestling promotion was holding a show in such a large and well known building. The return show one year later was just as much as a success and cemented itself as DDT’s premier event for the year. The Sumo Hall show is now one of the more feel good shows on the puroresu calendar, mixing the usual DDT brand of sports entertainment with a major title match main event and appearances by wrestlers from all over the puroresu scene, from big name stars to indy sleaze veterens.

0. Big China Unified Nakahara Tag Team Titles: The Great Sasuke & Ricky Fuji (c) Vs Sanshiro Takagi & Munenori Sawa (Referee: Kyohei Wada)

The show will unofficially begin with a Hardcore Tag Team match for the Big China Unified Nakahara Tag Team Titles. The Championship was recently introduced to Union when New Beijing wrestlers Chou-un Shiryu & Cao Zhang won the belts during a tour in China. However, calamity struck when they lost their first defence of the title in Japan against Sanshiro Takagi & Munenori Sawa of the TKG48. Takagi & Sawa were hoping to have a long and eventful title reign similar to their “Greatest Title Reign Ever (c)” from 2009 but it was not to be. The new champs would quickly lose the belts to The Great Sasuke & Ricky Fuji in a match filled with stoppages and restarts from guest referee Kyohei Wada. The rematch is booked for Sumo Hall with Mr. Wada brought back to officiate the bout. Takagi and Sasuke have fought each other before in Sumo Hall, having a crazy match during the 2009 DDT show which led to a giant brawl/party involving the DDT and Michinoku Pro rosters.

After this, the show will officially begin with the Anal Blast opening ceremony. Michael Nakazawa has won an election to take part in the ceremony, his role will be to lie down face first onto the canvas, shove dynamite up his backside and light the fuse. As opening ceremonies go, it’s not exactly Olympic Games quality but it sets the stage up nicely and tells fans that this isn’t your ordinary pro wrestling supershow.

1. Dramatic Next Generation Fight: Keisuke Ishii Vs Shigehiro Irie

The official show opener will feature a fresh rivalry between two of the fastest rising talents under the DDT umbrella. Keisuke Ishii has been heads above the rest of the pack when it comes to DDT’s younger wrestlers. When the Belt Hunter X Hunter group went on hiatus, Ishii wrestled on his own and became the main focus of DDT’s Monthly Young Communication shows. Ishii was even able to produce his own event at Shin-Kiba 1st RING back in March. However, he has been quietly building up a rivalry with the other hot prospect, this one coming from Union. Shigehiro Irie has seen his profile rise since joining Sanshiro Takagi’s TKG48 unit. Over in Union, Irie scored a shocking pinfall victory over Shuji Ishikawa during a tag match in December. He picked up good review after good review for his performances in both DDT and Union, teaming with more experienced TKG48 stablemates like Takagi, Munenori Sawa and Genichiro Tenryu. His biggest win to date took place in May when he defeated Kota Ibushi in the KING of DDT tournament. Irie also briefly held the KO-D Tag Team Titles with Sawa. Recently, Irie has been in matches with Ishii. When their Monthly Young main event from July ended in a time limit draw, the rematch was booked for Sumo Hall. This match will pit two wrestlers with bright futures ahead of them. Which one will get to be the breakout star?

DDT’s most infamous creation, one which has gained the company a lot of publicity over the years, is the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title. A belt inspired by the WWF Hardcore Title back when it was defended 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, DDT took the same concept and ran with it further than it has any right to do so. You know the deal by now. Ladders, tables, puppies, baseball bats, curry, trucks, posters, inflatable dolls are among the large list of previous champions. The title became inactive for almost a year when the champ at the time, Masa Takanashi was out of action with a serious injury. It wasn’t until Takanashi announced his return to the ring in May when the Title began switching from person to person like a hot potato again. A 15 person Battle Royal is set with a wide range of contenders going after current champ Antonio Honda. Among the challengers are the Queen of Boing-Boing Yuzuki Aikawa, possibly brain damaged Tsuyoshi Kikuchi, Riki Choshu parody Riki Sensyu, 9 year old masked Luchador Mr. #6, totally the youngest women in the match Cherry, yaoi flavored criminal catcher Rion Mizuki, rubbishly talented Gorgeous Matsuno, Ice Ribbon founder Emi Sakura, kickboxer Tanomusaku Toba, little annoying snot DJ Nira, Argentine sumo wrestler Hoshitango, former Italian 4 Horseman Daisuke Sasaki and last but certainly not least, blow-up doll wrestling superstar YOSHIHIKO.

3. Special Singles Match: MIKAMI Vs Poison Sawada JULIE

A match celebrating two of DDT’s longest serving and most successful wrestlers. MIKAMI has been with DDT since the very first show in 1997 and still doesn’t show much signs of slowing down. Poison Sawada JULIE has been with DDT since 1999. However, has been out of action for almost a year due to an injured elbow. Will his vile snake magic be affected by his lack of ringtime or will he have recovered to full strength in time for his return?

4. 4 Way – KO-D Tag Team Titles: HARASHIMA & HERO! (c) Vs GENTARO & Yasu Urano Vs Kenny Omega & Michael Nakazawa Vs Daisuke Sekimoto & Masa Takanashi

A big clash between four wildly varying teams for the KO-D Tag Team Titles. Current champs HARASHIMA & HERO! have a tough time ahead as they have three pairs of wrestlers to take care of. HARASHIMA has quite a history with his alter ego. He originally debuted as HERO! in 2001 and dropped the gimmick in 2006. HERO! would sporadically appear on certain occassions but it was always HARASHIMA under the mask. That all changed in April when a 4 Way match featuring 5 wrestlers took place. HARASHIMA was left to fight off Antonio Honda, Michael Nakazawa & DJ Nira while Minoru Fujita was being kicked out of the arena for constantly showing up uninvited. When Fujita was finally gone, the match was abruptly cut short when HERO! suddenly appeared to rescue HARASHIMA from a 3-on-1 beatdown. HARASHIMA was confused to see his own alter ego in the flesh. DDT General Manager Tsurumi Amon stepped in to sort out the situation, only to mark out because HERO! is one of his favourite wrestlers. Amon’s solution was to have the two team up and go after the KO-D Tag Titles. The new team got along well but this version of HERO! was not quite right. Instead of fighting fair, HERO! began cheating to win matches.

Their first shot at the titles was against GENTARO & Yasu Urano. The GRANMA duo were the top team in DDT and were able to overcome their latest challenge but only when HARASHIMA caught his partner cheating and got him to stop right before Yasu rolled him over for a flash pin. During the next few months the belts changed hands from GENTARO & Urano to Munenori Sawa & Shigehiro Irie and then surprisingly to Kenny Omega & Michael Nakazawa. Omega and Nakazawa had become good friends during the year and the title win was a big achievement for both of them as a new team. However, the joy was short lived as HARASHIMA & HERO! won the Titles off them at a one match show a few days later.

Meanwhile as all of this was going on, Masa Takanashi made his return to wrestling after missing a year due to an injury to his right knee. Tsurumi Amon created a challenge for Takanashi and Nakazawa with the prize being a spot in the KO-D Tag Title Triple Threat match at Sumo Hall. When the match between the two ended in a draw, Amon decided to give both wrestlers the reward of choosing their own tag partners to compete in the title match. Nakazawa chose Kenny Omega while Takanashi surprised everyone by bringing in Big Japan powerhouse and former KO-D Openweight Champion, Daisuke Sekimoto! This match features the main event of last year’s show as HARASHIMA and Sekimoto will get the chance to face each other once again.

5. Summer Night Fever – 5 Vs 5 Elimination: Sanshiro Takagi, Hikaru Sato, Takao Soma, Kazuki Hirata & Akito Vs Yoshiaki Yago, Tomomitsu Matsunaga, Super Shit Machine, Kengo Ohka & Minoru Suzuki

The formation of a dark alliance leads to this 5 Vs 5 Elimination match. It all began with the creation of the Shit Heart ♥ Foundation in 2010. Hikaru Sato, Tomimitsu Matsunaga & Michael Nakazawa joined forces aiming to become the top heel group in DDT. That didn’t happen the way they expected it to. They were able to win the Sleazy Indy Trios Triple Crown and Sato did become the KO-D Champion during that time, but they weren’t that much of a dominating force. Fresh blood joined the group when Takao Soma turned heel shortly after winning the Young Drama Cup in November. Soma quickly took over the SHF and steered them towards more a heelish attitude. Sato wasn’t too happy with the SHF’s new direction and finally quit the group in disgust. Sato and Soma would then have a feud that lasted until February. The final match between them was a No DQ Hair Vs Hair match, which Soma won thanks to the appearance of the SHF’s newest member, the Super Shit Machine. Nakazawa would then be kicked out of the group, leaving Soma, Matsunaga & Machine as the only members. Soma would go on to more success by winning one of the “Anytime & Anywhere” contracts during the KO-D Title Challenge at DDT’s 14th Anniversary. However, his plan to have his title shot immediatly after Shuji Ishikawa’s win over GENTARO was not enough to steal the title. Matsunaga & Machine were pissed off at Soma failing when he had a golden opportunity to become champion, so they held a mutiny and got rid of their leader. With the Shit Heart ♥ Foundation down to just two members, they began looking elsewhere for allies.

Meanwhile over in Union, Sanshiro Takagi decided to switch brands and join DDT’s sub-promotion. His goal was to help Union in providing a more active schedule and also to use Union as the testing ground for his latest project. Taking inspiration from the AKB48 pop group, Takagi formed a super unit that combied stars from around the puro scene with his proteges and other underrated talent. The group was called the TKG48 and its 48 members included Genichiro Tenryu, Tsuyoshi Kikuchi, Atsushi Aoki, Munenori Sawa, Shigehiro Irie, TAKA Michinoku, Ryuji Ito and Yuzuki Aikawa. Things were looking good for Takagi as the TKG48 were winning its matches against the Union Sekigun. Then Yoshiaki Yago showed up to spoil the fun. Yago and Takagi have never really seen eye to eye with each other and Yago saw the TKG48 as a new reason to feud with Takagi again. Yago drafted in Madoka and Kengo Mashimo (known as Kengo Ohka in Union because he looks like Ken Ohka, if Ken was fit and talented) and the trio went to battle against both the TKG48 and the Union Sekigun. As this was going on Yago became smitten with Union boss Naomi Susan. He claimed that the unit were also Naomi’s bodyguards and would now be called the Susan Guard.

The SHF and the Susan Guard announced in June that they joined forces and would now be called the Susan Shit Heart Superstars. They would make their presence felt in by attacking their enemies Sanshiro Takagi, Hikaru Sato and Takao Soma throughout the 3rd July show in Shin-Kiba. Sato and Soma would finally put there differences aside when Sato was willing to forgive Soma for his actions while leading the SHF. The attack by The Superstars just gave them more reason to team up and go after a common enemy. Takagi would join them but would be without his TKG48 comrades. Instead Sato brought in two of DDT’s rookies, Kazuki Hirata and Akito to team with them. Sato’s self-imposed trial of wrestling at the bottom of the card after losing the KO-D Title led to him regularly teaming with and facing against Hirata and Akito. He would become impressed by their performances to the point where he would give them the chance of joining his squad for Sumo Hall.

So everything was ready for the Elimination match. That was until The Superstars had one last trick up their sleeve. Madoka would not be wrestling at the show, so they had to go looking for a replacement. They found just the guy, someone who doesn’t take crap from anyone and someone who Hikaru Sato knows real well… Minoru Suzuki!

6. IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title: Kota Ibushi (c) Vs Prince Devitt

The “Golden Star” and “Independent Genius” is living through his best year to date as a pro wrestler. But the last 12 months have been a rollercoaster for Kota Ibushi. He had to miss the dream match against Naomichi Marufuji on last year’s show after dislocating his shoulder in the Best Of The Super Jr. final over at New Japan Pro Wrestling. The wrestler he lost the final to was none other than Irish Jr. Heavyweight sensation Prince Devitt. The two would cross paths several more times with the Golden Lovers of Ibushi & Kenny Omega feuding with the Apollo 55 duo of Devitt & Ryusuke Taguchi over the IWGP Jr. Tag Team Titles. The Golden Lovers won the belts and were even able to defend them twice in DDT before losing them back to Apollo 55. Ibushi would also challenge Devitt to an IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title match at the annual Tokyo Dome in January but suffered defeat after an Avalanche Bloody Sunday. When Apollo 55 won back the IWGP Jr. Tag belts, that seemed to be the end of the rivalry for the time being. The rivaly returned several months later with the 2011 Best Of The Super Jr. tournament. Taguchi would beat Ibushi and Devitt would defeat Omega in their group matches. But in the grand final, Ibushi would finally win the tournament by defeating Taguchi in a highly emotional match. Feeling on top of the world, Ibushi wasted no time and got his IWGP Jr. Title match against Devitt just one week later. This time Ibushi would get the better of Devitt and claim his and arguably DDT’s biggest achievement to date.

Prince Devitt will get his rematch at Sumo Hall as Ibushi’s first challenger. Their previous bouts have been more like sprints than drawn-out ‘epic’ battles. Devitt knows that great matches don’t always have to be over 15 minutes long, but this is the match most fans are looking forward to on this show. Ibushi doesn’t have any horrible injuries to worry about and he would definitly want to make up for missing last year’s show. Plus he wouldn’t want to lose the title just after winning it. This match should be one to remember.

7. Special Singles Match: Danshoku Dino Vs Bob Sapp

The big match for the big show…for better or worse. The first major announcement for this year’s Sumo Hall show was the appearance of “The Beast” Bob Sapp. Hard times have fallen on the poor Sapp. His stardom in Japan has dwindled away and his pro fighting career has become such a dud that he regularly had to beg in the street of Tokyo, pleading that he would “fight for money”. While one person was there to help him, he soon became too busy slapping masked men disguised as charity events for Sapp to rely on. Luckily, he found a poster for this show and realised he could get another chance in the ring. So Sapp travelled over to DDT HQ to plead his case to Sanshiro Takagi & Ken Ohka. They were bewildered by Sapp’s sudden appearance but happy to offer him the chance to redeem himself. Then Ohka accidentaly dumped Sapp’s begging bucket over his head. Sapp became so angry that he threatened that he would destroy DDT on 24th July.

It would take quite a man to stand up to “The Beast”. In fact, it would take a man so manly beyond your wildest expectations to stand up and defend DDT against “The Beast”. Cue Danshoku Dino. After winning the opportunity to choose an opponent for Sumo Hall, Dino nominated to take on Sapp and defend DDT’s honour. Sapp wasn’t so convinced and set forth wave upon wave of Assassins for Dino to fight. If Dino could defeat them all, Sapp would treat him as worthy enough to fight. Onward came the Assassins: Jonathan Gresham, Ryan Genesis, Choun-Shiryu, Dragon Chan, Ryoma Lee, Gaylon Summers and Sexxxy Eddy. All eventually fell to Dino. But everytime Dino was about to learn some valuable information about Sapp from an Assassin, the Assassin would be shot in the neck with a poison dart by an unknown sniper. Dino and Sapp would finally meet when Dino wiped out the Assassins. Sapp still wouldn’t take Dino seriously, thinking that the gay man was only a weakling. It was only when Sapp got to see first hand what Dino’s strengths are that he began to show fear. So Sapp’s camp demanded that they decide what the rules of the match should be. A compromise was made, the match would become a 30 round match with the rules switching between “Bob Rules” and “Gay Rules” every round. “Bob Rules” would be similar to MMA with Dino’s more perverted moves being made illegal. “Gay Rules” would be just like normal pro wrestling just with said perverted moves being legal and even encouraged.

Everything is now set. The long awaited battle between Danshoku Dino and Bob Sapp will now begin… Unless Sapp pulls out because he is unhappy about how much he will be paid for showing up. But that’s not going to happen, right?

Right?

8. KO-D Openweight Title: Shuji Ishikawa (c) Vs KUDO

The main event for the coveted KO-D Openweight Title sees Shuji Ishikawa of Union taking on KUDO from DDT. Ishikawa has been the ace of the Union brand since 2007 and has been a 3 time KO-D Champion, the first of which was when he wrestled as the masked Hawaiian God Of War, Koo. Ishikawa and KUDO were the last two wrestlers in the KO-D Openweight Title Challenge Right Fight +alpha Anytime and Anywhere Battle Royal that took place in March. Ishikawa got the better of KUDO on that occassion and he went on the win the KO-D Title from Dick Togo two months later. He has so far been able to defeat GENTARO and Takao Soma in back-to-back title defences.

KUDO has wrestling in DDT since 2001 but he has never held the KO-D Title. He earned this valuable title shot by winning the KING Of DDT tournament that took place in May, defeating Yasu Urano, Hikaru Sato, Kenny Omega along the way and then beating HARASHIMA in the final. After that, the DDT roster gave him an initiation they gave HARASHIMA the year before. They all lined up and hit KUDO with one of their trademark moves, the idea being that they were all transferring their energy into him and he will represent the entire DDT promotion in the match. This time however, Ishikawa interfered and stopped the initiation, delivering a crushing Splash Mounatin to the challenger before telling everyone KUDO has no hope of winning the title back. Will KUDO be able to prove Ishikawa wrong and finally become the top star in DDT or will Ishikawa keep the title and continue Union’s dominance over DDT?

Dino Vs Sapp – The Rules, Nakazawa Wins Election

This is unexpected. DDT has announced the stipulations for Danshoku Dino Vs Bob Sapp on this Sunday’s Sumo Hall show. There was a dispute over what the rules for the match would be come the day of the show but a solution was created and both parties have agreed to it.

The match will consist of 30 rounds, all lasting three minutes each. There will be a minute long break seperating every round. The entire fight will alternate between “Bob Rules” and “Gay Rules”. Every odd numbered round will use “Bob Rules” and every even numbered round uses “Gay Rules”. Here are the descriptions for the two rule sets.

“Bob Rules”

The match can end in the following ways:

a. Pinfall.
b. Knockout via 10 second count.
c. When a fighter gives up or his corner throws in the towel.
d. If the referee has determined that a fighter can no longer compete or has lost the will to fight.
e. If a fighter suffers a terrible injury. However the referee or fight doctor has the right to determine whether or not the fighter can continue.

Instep kicks are prohibited. However, knee strikes are allowed on a crouching opponent. Strikes behind the neck, strikes aimed at the kidney, open hand chops and other striking attacks normally found in modern pro wresting are banned. Fighters will be given a warning for using illegal attacks. Fighters can be disqualified after one or two warnings.

Finally, any moves that create sexual excitement for the fighter on offense are banned. Such moves include, but are not limited to, touching your opponent’s crotch, rubbing against your opponent, caressing your own crotch and dry humping.

“Gay Rules”

Exactly the same as pro wrestling but attacks aimed towards the groin region are now legal.

Michael Nakazawa will be in a good mood today because he has been chosen to be part of the Sumo Hall Anal Blast opening ceremony for the third year in a row! He won the election by 15 votes in what was a tight race for the ‘prestigious’ role.

Nakazawa has also been announced for the Kensuke Office Summer Festival taking place between 31st July to 4th August. Nakazawa will be taking part in the Summer Volcano Tag Tournament, forming an unlikely tag team with Jr. Heavyweight ace Katsuhiko Nakajima. Sanshiro Takagi will also show up on the final night of the festival.
