A new KO-D Openweight Title belt will be unveiled and presented to the new champion Tetsuya Endo at the show. He has not seen the new design yet and is looking forward to finding out for himself when it is given to him at the show.

Two days after the Sumo Hall show and MAO has figured out how Michael Nakazawa tricked him into giving him a DDT Universal Title shot. When Nakazawa flashed him the AEW logo on his shirt, MAO was fooled into thinking he would be fighting one of the big stars. Today at a press conference MAO showed regret at making the match and asked to make it non-title. Nakazawa explained he is part of The Elite and beating him will open up a path for MAO to wrestle against the other more stronger members. MAO lit up at the idea of fighting The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega so he signed the contract for the match. Nakazawa then gave MAO a Low Blow and admitted it is all a trick so he can get the title shot. He revealed he needs to win the championship so he can bring it back to America and keep his AEW career alive because he is currently in limbo while Omega is out injured.

The DDT Extreme Title match is now an O-Back Ladder Match. The O-Back is the kind of jock strap Yuki Iino always wears underneath his gear for his matches. He originally wanted the rule to be both he and Shunma Katsumata had to wear an O-Back while they wrestled. Katsumata refused and came up with the idea to make it a Ladder Match where whoever grabs the O-Back hanging above the ring and puts it on first will be the winner. However extra negotiations with Iino and Danshoku Dieno added another way to win. The match can also end if either wrestler decides to give up.

Masahiro Takanashi joked that he would rather defend the Asia Dream Tag Team Titles against them inside Ichigaya Chocolate Square instead because there would be no room for the both of them. I don’t know if Chris Brookes can squeeze either of them through the window though.

Endo said his first challenger should be somebody who is confident they can go above and beyond. He does not want to nominate a challenger himself. He would rather someone suitable come forward and make the challenge to him. It is a clear goal Endo has come up with for this title run to be different from Konosuke Takeshita’s reign. When he won the main event on Sunday, Endo said he never saw Jun Akiyama smiling so happily. BURNING has only just started so Endo wants the KO-D Title to help make the unit bigger and better.

4. Tsutomu Oosugi & Banana Senga defeated Takato Nakano & Masato Kamino when Oosugi pinned Nakano with a Cradle (9:40).
5. Union MAX Title: Ryota Nakatsu (c) defeated FUMA with a Back Roll Clutch (16:40).

Ryota Nakatsu beats FUMA by the skin of his teeth to retain the Union MAX Title. Nakatsu thanked FUMA for the challenge and FUMA admitted the champion’s judo was stronger than his own kung fu. Daiki Shimomura walked out and reminded Nakatsu he beat him in the first round of last year’s Heaven Summit tournament. It was in a 2 Count match and even so, Tsukamoto claims he kicked out at 1.9. Shimomura said he can beat him with a three count so he challenged him to a title match next month.

Speed Of Sounds praised their opponents for becoming a stronger tag team, one that could beat them the next time they wrestle each other. Takato Nakano took their word and demanded a rematch with the IRON FIST Tag Titles on the line. If it is true that he and Masato Kamino have even a tiny percent chance of beating SOS then they want to take it. Tsutomu Oosugi tried to explain he only said that as a compliment but he & Banana Senga had to accept the challenge in the end. Nakano & Kamino want to win the belts and stand at the forefront of BASARA!

The OATH At The Peach Garden used by CDK is a Super Kick from Masahiro Takanashi into a Back Clutch Hold from Chris Brookes.

Here’s the updates for DDT that caused the show above to change more matches. The PCR results for Konosuke Takeshita came back negative. However the illness he does have was diagnosed as a stomach bug and he is not fit to compete on Wednesday. Toui Kojima also tested negative but is still showing flu symptoms so he is off the show too.

Hideki Okatani is identified as a close contact so he cannot be at the show either. That means Eruption must forfeit their Ultimate Tag League match against Yuji Hino & Yukio Naya and eliminates them from the running for 1st place in their block. Okatani is expected to be back for the Tag League finale this Sunday if he doesn’t test positive before then. The lesson here boys and girls is do not run a tournament during a pandemic.

Ryota Nakatsu is now a two time Union MAX Champion after beating Takumi Tsukamoto. There was a High Kick in the match that Tsukamoto said blew away all of the memories he had since waking up this morning. The result gives the former champion mixed emotions. He is both extremely disappointed he lost and extremely happy to see Nakatsu as the champion again. He told Nakatsu to make good use of the MAX Title because he will win it back some day. Nakatsu wants to beat Tsukamoto’s reign of six defences so will aim to make seven. SAGAT came out and asked to be the first challenger. It will be Sparky Vs Sparky for the MAX Title!

Speed Of Sounds reclaims the IRON FIST Tag Titles from Astronauts! Teamwork was the key to this result. Tsutomu Oosugi praised his partner Banana Senga for being there at the right time, every time. He said if you ever want to win tag team championships, you have to have Senga as your tag partner. Over on the Astronauts side, Fuminori Abe & Takuya Nomura agreed that they lost because they wrestled more like two individuals instead of a team. However, Abe thinks Astronauts are still one of the top tag teams around. It’s up to them to start from the beginning again and improve each other as a team.

The UWA World 6-Man Tag Team Titles now belong to Toru Owashi, Shuji Kondo & Takuya Sugawara. It’s Aagan Iisou reunited! Owashi said the belts mean a lot to them because they were used by Toryumon and El Dorado when they were there. Aagan Iisou now claim management rights over the championship and where it will go next is up to them. Sugawara wrestled in BASARA for the first time and likes what he sees. He’s sure he will show up here again periodically. Owashi also praised Daiki Shimomura for how he has grown in BASARA. Isami Kodaka shares similar thoughts, feeling regret for Shimomura losing his title belt. He and Yuko Miyamoto were also happy to find out Minoru Fujita was in the venue to watch today’s show.

Yasu Urano carried the Fujita Pro Wrestling School flag to the ring for his entrance. Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi moved around weirdly on his feet during the match and blamed it on gout. He later turned the match into a singing contest against Gouma.

The shaky mystery of who is behind the Lil Kraken mask is cracking even further. His tag partner Takato Nakano accidentally shouted out “Tetsuo!” when he reached out for a tag during the match.

DDT is collaborating with “Record Of Ragnarok” for a special match. The series is about Humanity fighting for its very survival in a deadly fighting tournament against Gods. It has a manga, a Netflix produced anime and will soon launch a live action stage show. One team led by Daisuke Sekimoto will represent the Gods from the anime and will wrestle in special costumes made for the match. If that’s not enough, Riki Choshu will also be there to provide special guest commentary.

Yuki Aino bounced back from her clean loss to Miyu Yamashita by pinning Hikari Noa in a tag match. With her recent record against champions, Aino has enough claim to challenge for the International Princess Title. Noa isn’t afraid to take the match to dangerous levels in order to keep the belt over her shoulder.

Union MAX Next Challenger Decision League

August 8, 2021

The next few months in BASARA will be spent searching for the person who will challenge for the Union MAX Title at Korakeun Hall on 24th October. A fan vote was held with the majority of the roster taking part (champions and their upcoming challengers were excluded) and the top five qualified for a round robin league. The five contestants are:

1. Ryota Nakatsu (24 Votes)
2. Isami Kodaka (21 Votes)
3. FUMA (17 Votes)
4. Takato Nakano (10 Votes)
5. Masato Kamino (8 Votes)

There is only one group and at the end of the league stage the top two wrestlers will face off in the final. 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for losing. Every match has a 30 minute time limit.
