GAKE NO FUCHI JOSHI PRO “CLOCKWORK GAKE NO FUCHI 2022 ~GAKE NO FUCHI VS PROMINENCE~”, 04/01/2021
Shinjuku FACE

1. Hardcore Match: Chris Brookes Vs Suzu Suzuki
2. Special Tag Match: Sanshiro Takagi & SenoSister Mao Inoue Vs Mochi Miyagi & Akane Fujita
3. Special Single Match ~ Gake no Fuchi Rules: Miyako Matsumoto Vs Risa Sera
4. Gake no Fuchi Vs Prominence Full Scale Battle! No DQ 8-Man Tag Match: Miyako Matsumoto, Sanshiro Takagi, Chris Brookes & (w/ Ippanjin Munenori Sawa) Vs Risa Sera, Mochi Miyagi, Akane Fujita & Suzu Suzuki (w/ Hiragi Kurumi)

This is the first challenge for Prominence since their inception. Risa Sera is close with Miyako Matsumoto and Miyamoto was even considered to be recruited for Prominence during its inception. However Matsumoto turned down the invitation out of loyalty to Gake no Fuchi, CyberFight and Sanshiro Takagi. It must be noted that Matsumoto is NOT a CyberFight employee.

When Suzu Suzuki originally debuted, people kept saying she reminded them of Matsumoto. She felt insulted by that and after holding in her feelings for so long, she will take her anger about it out on Chris Brookes. She isn’t sure how to deal with the height difference but thinks if she can beat a big man with big moves then she cane become a big woman in the ring.

Mochi Miyagi thought she would be taking on the Mao from SenoSister and was looking forward to it. Then she found out it is actually the wrestler MAO and she now wants a explanation. On the bright side she is looking forward to fighting Takagi and making him scream squeal. She isn’t the only person targeting Takagi.

Akane Fujita has accused Shunma Katsumata of stealing all of her ideas for death match weapons. She has proof of using block toys and acupuncture mats as weapons in her own matches before Katsumata used them in DDT. She isn’t facing Katsumata on this show so she will target Takagi instead because he is the DDT president.

Last but not least, Hiragi Kurumi admits she doesn’t know what she is going to do at the show. She isn’t able to wrestle at the moment so she is only advertised to accompany the rest of Prominence for the main event. She knows Munenori Sawa is doing the same so she guesses she will have to deal with him one way or another.

7. Special Mixed Tag Match: Shunma Katsumata & Saki Akai Vs Masahiro Takanashi & Maya Yukihi
8. Special Single Match: Chris Brookes Vs Pokotan
9. DDT 25th Anniversary Opening Memorial Special Single Match: Konosuke Takeshita Vs Shinya Aoki

Every match on this show will have a 15 minute time limit. Jun Akiyama will also be on commentary instead of wrestling.

One day after defeating Yuji Okabayashi on DDT’s final show of the year, Konosuke Takeshita is looking for new challenges in 2022. When Takeshita returned home after yesterday’s show, he already saw pictures on social media of Okabayashi already in the gym doing leg exercises. That inspired him to start training again too. Nobody came out after the match to challenge Takeshita for the KO-D Openweight Title which is why he is going out there to seek opponents. First up is Shinya Aoki for a special singles match celebrating DDT’s 25th Anniversary. It’s been two and a half years since their last singles match together and a lot has changed for both of them since then.

Newly freelanced Maya Yukihi will be appearing in DDT for several dates in January. She is also booked for the 7th January and 22nd January events.

Hideki Okatani has unexpectedly volunteered to join Eruption! He approached Kazusada Higuchi after yesterday’s show with the request. He wants to join because there are wrestlers from his class and below that are joining units while he had nothing after Junretsu disbanded. Both Yukio Sakaguchi & Saki Akai approve of the idea but Higuchi wants to find out if Okatani is ready to join them. They will have a singles match so Higuchi can judge him firsthand.

A decision was made by DDT to turn the KO-D 8-Man Tag Team Titles back into the KO-D 10-Man Tag Team Titles. DDT made the decision in reaction to the lifting of restrictions allowing bigger crowds to gather in one place. However the current champions are not allowed to add a 5th member and must defend the titles in a 4 Vs 5 Handicap Match. The DDT Variety Team are the current champions but have not yet been told about the change in rules. If there is any chance the champions have of retaining the belts it is because Sanshiro Takagi has for some reason put together a team of challengers that do not want to work with each other.

The original plan was for Daisuke Sasaki Vs Minoru Fujita to happen in October. Fujita fell ill with covid and spent weeks in the ICU in no condition to wrestle so Sasaki defended the DDT Universal Title against Isami Kodaka instead. After Sasaki beat Masahiro Takanashi yesterday he demanded that Fujita be his next challenger no matter what condition he is in. Fujita accepted, knowing that he is nowhere near his physical best but still confident he can beat Sasaki. Just like Takanashi, he is fighting for the pride of ChocoPro!

1. Miu Watanabe defeated Haruna Neko with the Tear Drop (8:15).
2. Rika Tatsumi defeated Mahiro Kiryu with the Twist Of Fate (8:28).
3. Shoko Nakajima & Hyper Misao defeated Raku & Pom Harajuku when Nakajima pinned Harajuku with the Northern Lights Suplex (12:30).
4. Maki Itoh & Yuki Kamifuku defeated Hikari Noa & Moka Miyamoto when Itoh submitted Miyamoto with the Itoh Punish (12:53).
5. Yuka Sakazaki, Mizuki, Suzume & Arisu Endo defeated Miyu Yamashita, Nodoka Tenma, Yuki Aino & Marika Kobashi when Mizuki pinned Kobashi with the Diving Foot Stomp (16:28).

Champions and challengers faced off on Christmas Eve as the build up to 4th January continues. Mizuki avoided the Skull Kick from Miyu Yamashita but still took a Head Kick from her later in the match. Mizuki recovered from that to get rid of Yamashita. Then with the help of Yuka Sakazaki she pinned Marika Kobashi with the Diving Foot Stomp. The Magical Sugar Rabbits and Arisuzu enjoyed teaming together and thanked the fans for gathering together to see the show on Christmas Eve.

Backstage Mizuki said when she was in the ring with Yamashita, all she wanted to do was beat her and take the Princess Of Princess Title. The High Kick shook her because she didn’t expect it. That’s a sign she isn’t as prepared as she thought she was because she had no counter for it. Yamashita said she is focused on hitting the Skull Kick on Mizuki. She has an idea to improve the move but doesn’t want to say anything out loud. All she knows is Mizuki having countermeasures for the Skull Kick is proof she is scared of the move.

Something came to Maki Itoh at the end of her tag match against Hikari Noa. She wants to take the International Princess Title from her because Noa is so proud of being the champion. Noa values the IP Title so much it makes Itoh want it even more! Noa was disappointed to be on the losing team today. She doesn’t know who she is wrestling on 27th December but she wants to win that match before we get to Ittenyon. Itoh is a strong opponent because she’s been in plenty of title matches. That only makes Noa more excited to beat her and become a stronger champion.

Both Hyper Misao and Pom Harajuku got into the Christmas spirit by wrestling in costumes. Misao was dressed as a Christmas tree and Harajuku wore a giant gift sack. Both of them argued over who had more Christmas spirit. Meanwhile Shoko Nakajima and Raku kept it basic by wearing reindeer antlers and ringing a bell. Harajuku threw the sack over Misao and her own partner Raku, keeping them wrapped together. That meant Raku couldn’t save her when Nakajima hit the 619 and then the Northern Lights Suplex to win.

The Bakuretsu Sisters will be part of a collaboration with the clothing brand ScoLar for the Ittenyon show.

7. KO-D Tag Team Titles – WRESTLE UNIVERSE Presents: HARASHIMA & Naomi Yoshimura Vs Yuji Hino & Bodyguard
8. KO-D Openweight Title – Yanekabe Presents: Konosuke Takeshita (c) Vs Yuji Okabayashi

Not long to go now until Konosuke Takeshita and Yuji Okabayashi settle the score. The recent DDT Vs Big Japan trios match reminded Takeshita of the upcoming New Japan Vs NOAH show on 8th January. It makes him think it is time for DDT and Big Japan to show their will with their own competition. Okabayashi expects to have a long battle for the KO-D Openweight Title so he promises not to cut any corners. If Okabayashi becomes champion he is looking forward to defending the title against a lot of DDT wrestlers and beating them all down. Kenta Kobashi will be in attendance to observe and provide commentary for the main event.

Yuji Hino is already envisioning what he and Bodyguard will look like carrying the KO-D Tag Team Titles. That’s not to say he doesn’t think HARASHIMA & Naomi Yoshimura are bad champions, just that the belts will look better on him and his tag partner. HARASHIMA thinks he and Naomi Yoshimura are still the better team and it is up to them to prove it by defending the titles. Yoshimura hates to lose which means the last few weeks have been unpleasant for him. The one thing keeping him focused is the progress he made fighting against Hino. He is no longer afraid of him. When Hino heard that he responded that he’s been a little too gentle up until now and he will make Yoshimura regret those words.

The attacks Daisuke Sasaki and Masahiro Takanashi have been giving to each other have not slowed down. It’s continuing to happen inside and outside the ring. Sasaki even attacked Takanashi at a ChocoPro show earlier this month. Poor Baliyan Akki keeps getting caught in the crossfire too. Takanashi made Akki attend a contract signing in disguise to lure out Sasaki, expecting the DDT Universal Champion to launch an ambush. The plan worked and Takanashi attacked Sasaki with his own ambush. In the aftermath of that recent fight, Sasaki said he is going to take over Ichigaya Chocolate Square and force ChocoPro to pay him the rent from now on!

Recently Super Sasadango Machine asked for his match against Pheromones to be for the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles but a decision was never made. Then earlier this week he accused the GM Hisaya Imabayashi of demanding 20-30 million yen to be paid into a slush fund in return for getting the title shot. Sasadango claims to have a 30 minute audio recording of the blackmail attempt and offered to destroy the evidence in return for the title shot. Imabayashi doesn’t think this is good behavior for a person who became the face of Nagoya wrestling but on the other hand he admires his spirit. Therefore the KO-D 6-Man Tag Titles will be on the line.
