This lead to Ogasawara challenging both teams to a 3 Way Tag Match which might be too much for his new protégé Ryu Gouma to handle.

Kazuhiko Ogasawara sent a letter to Union explaining he has taken Ryu Gouma under his wing. He calls Gouma an idiot who people laugh at but if he learns Karate he could beat people that are 7 and even 8 feet tall! The letter ends with Ogasawara saying the time has come for Karate-gun’s revival! Karate-gun was Union’s first enemy faction when the brand was re-established in 2005. The infamous feud featured Ogasawara fighting Poison Sawada in a Scorpion Death Match and later a Toxic Barbed Wired Board Death Match. I don’t think the same will happen here with Gouma.

The build-up over the KO-D Tag Team Titles is getting tense. Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie scored a victory over the champions with the help of Tomomitsu Matsunaga taking the place of an injured Soma Takao. Ishii & Irie praised the strength of Daisuke Sekimoto & Yuji Okabayashi but they said they will absolutely take the belts from them. Okabayashi warned that the challengers will be crushed soon enough.

Yukio Sakaguchi wore the HIRATA GO glasses and used the power of the music to punch and kick Kazuki Hirata unconscious.

After Hiroshi Fukuda avoided a dark fate by winning the King Of Dark Title Match, Amon Tsurumi asked if he had gotten a chance to speak to Barack Obama about when to cash in his Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Contract. Fukuda said it is a sensitive issue and he will cash in at an appropriate time. So don’t miss it!

Turned out the appropriate time was halfway through the show. Fukuda declared his cash in and was ready for Kota Ibushi! Unfortunately Ibushi was no longer in the building. His match took place at the beginning of the show and he was allowed to leave early so he could prepare for his IWGP Heavyweight Title match in New Japan tomorrow. Fukuda asked who was more important, himself or AJ Styles? Tsurumi said probably Styles. Fukuda then claimed he will cash in his contract tomorrow after the New Japan show. He was told he can’t because DDT is not running any shows tomorrow. Fukuda gave up and asked when is the next DDT show taking place in or near Tokyo. That would be 19th April in Kasukabe Hall. Fukuda said that date will be hard for him to do but he did not rule it out.

Akito nominated Daisuke Sasaki as the No. 1 Contender for the DDT Extreme Title. Sasaki defeated Akito by submission when they last fought each other one on one. That only took place back in March. The rematch will take place on 19th April.

In the battle of the 19 year olds, Konosuke Takeshita pinned Kota Umeda with a Vertical Drop Brainbuster. To mark the occassion Takeshita’s Brainbuster will now be called the 19 Years Old much like how Genichiro Tenryu named his Brainbuster the 53 Years Old.

Danshoku Dino channelled the spirit of Jinsei Shinzaki for his tag match. He wore a similar pilgrim costume and performed a couple of Shinzaki’s taunts and spots including the rope walk.

One day before his IWGP Title Match, Kota Ibushi sent a message to AJ Styles by using the Styles Clash… on his own tag team partner? Ibushi came up with the bright idea of turning the Styles Clash into a double team move, doing it to Suguru Miyatake on top of HARASHIMA. However HARASHIMA recovered and hit the Somato on Miyatake to win the match for Smile Squash. HARASHIMA wished Ibushi luck for tomorrow and to be ready for their KO-D Openweight Title match on 29th April.

The event was dedicated to UWF fighter Masahito Kakihara who is currently ill with malignant lymphoma. Fundraising was held for Kakihara throughout the show. Hikaru Sato said that everyone competing was going to kick strongly for him and they want him to never give up.

Shibata fought dirty at the start of his bout with Super Tiger. He refused to shake hands and instead immediately locked in a Front Neck Lock. Super Tiger calmly escaped from the hold and kicked the hell out of Shibata until the referee stopped him.

Two months after “SAITAMA SUPER DDT 2015” we get the rematch of the main event, unless somebody successfully cashes in their Ring To Challenge Contract. I mean it’s not like anybody in DDT watched Wrestlemania on Sunday and a lightbulb suddenly flashed over their head during the big main event angle… Anyway, the current contract holders are Yasu Urano, Hiroshi Fukuda, Kazusada Higuchi and Antonio Honda. Like last year wrestlers can lose the contract if they are pinned or submitted during any match in Japan.

There was one contract left unclaimed in the Right To Challenge Rumble. Another Battle Royal will decide who gets it. What it is for exactly won’t be known until the match is over.

FUMA’s new unit has been given a name. He now leads the King Legion because each wrestler is the “king” of something specific. FUMA is the King of Omnipotence, Kazushi Miyamoto is the King of Power, MEN’S Teioh is the King of Intelligence and SAGAT is the King of Love.

King Legion were successful over Union Sekigun in the main event. Daichi Kazato was left in a bloody mess after being targeted for much of the match. An angry Shuji Ishikawa tried to get his hands on FUMA after the match. FUMA decided his Union MAX Title match against Ishikawa in Korakuen Hall next month will be a 1,000 Rose Deathmatch! He will prove his overwhelming strength once and for all.

Despite coming up short, Shu Shibutani tearfully thanked Cherry for giving her a shot at the Fly To Everywhere Title before she retires in May. Aoi Ishibashi challenged Cherry for a shot but the champion wanted to defend the title against someone from overseas. Naomi Susan decided the Fly To Everywhere Title will be defended in a 3 Way Match on 24/9. Cherry and Ishibashi are involved and Union will look for a foreign wrestler to fill up the last spot.

Yuki Sato used some dirty tactics to beat Yuuya Kubo. When the referee was knocked out, a bamboo stick came into play and was fought over by the two wrestlers. When Kubo got it, Sato grabbed the ref and used him as a shield. Kubo stopped himself from hitting the ref but Sato grabbed the stick and used it to beat Kubo senseless before pinning him.

Isami Kodaka called Yukio Sakaguchi into the ring after his victory over Ryota Nakatsu. Kodaka and Sakaguchi will have a match together on 29th April. Sakaguchi said he was told the match was going to be fun but he thinks he will do something terrible to Kodaka, like kill him. Kodaka said he is prepared and that it will be a fun match for himself at least.

Madoka continued his advances towards Harumi Tachibana. This time he had a marriage contract ready for when she accepts his proposal. However Hiroshi Fukuda would suddenly proposed to Tachibana too! The two men fought each other over Tachibana and would take breaks in an attempt to woo her. Fukuda called Tachibana his Jasmine and sang the chorus to Beauty & The Beast. Madoka convinced Tachibana to help him and she put Fukuda in a Cobra Twist. She then slapped Fukuda and Madoka rolled him up with a Small Package for the win. Madoka eargly told Tachibana to go register their marriage but she refused. Fukuda asked if that means he can marry her. She said no. But she still wants to stay with Madoka. Madoka asked if that meant they could still get married someday in the future? She said yes. That’s good enough for Madoka!

Before the second match began, Ryu Gouma called Mio Shirai “amazingly stupid”, calling back to their December match when Mio was given a quiz and she got every answer wrong. Gouma complimented his tag partner Ladybeard for being a master of Japanese proverbs which he proved there and then. Gouma challenged Shirai & Aoi Ishibashi to a quiz while they wrestled. He seemed to get more powerful for every question the women got wrong. However he soon resorted to cheating when he grabbed his statute book. Shirai grabbed it off him and Ishibashi took advantage of the distraction to pin the lawyer.

Ibushi Prepares For Yoshihiko & AJ Styles, Mitomi Masayuki Comeback

Kota Ibushi’s run in New Japan just keeps getting better. After winning the New Japan Cup last weekend he now has an IWGP Title against AJ Styles match at Sumo Hall on 5th April. If Ibushi beats Yoshihiko this Saturday then the New Japan main event is guaranteed to be IWGP Champion Vs KO-D Champion, a first for New Japan and DDT’s relationship.

So DDT has put up a fact sheet and list of career highlights for Yoshihiko before his KO-D Title match with Ibushi. Apparently Kurt Angle gave plenty of praise when he saw footage of Yoshihiko attacking Ibushi and laying down the challenge. When Ric Flair watched the same clip he just said “This is wrestling!” Also of note is Yoshihiko feels strongly about getting the 5th April IWGP Title shot if he beats Ibushi.

Mitomi Masayuki is back after going through a bad period last December. He was suspended from Union and DDT for bad behaviour on Twitter and then got himself injured while wrestling on a micro indie show a week later. Shuji Ishikawa wants his Union MAX Title bout against FUMA on 29th April to be a No DQ match. FUMA won’t agree to it but Ishikawa hopes to change his mind in Yokohama.

Shu Shibutani is hoping to win the Fly To Everywhere Title just over a month before she retires from pro wrestling. The new champion Cherry wants to protect her belt at any cost and does not want to lose it to somebody who is on the verge of retirement.

Hiroshi Fukuda has bulked up and gained some weight while he was recovering from his injury. He wants to put his body to the test with a match against Madoka but Naomi Susan is convinced Fukuda just wants to get near Harumi Tachibana.

The time has come for my favourite DDT match to take place again. The Right To Challenge Battle Royal is a combined Royal Rumble and Ladder Match. The winner of the Rumble portion becomes the No. 1 Contender for the KO-D Openweight Title. However there are usually extra prizes hanging over the ring which is where the ladder comes in. In recent years the prize has been Money In The Bank style contracts that allow the holder to get a title match at any show they want. However there are also extra stipulations used to keep the contract holder on his toes. For example, last year the contract could change hands like a title if the holder was directly defeated in any match he wrestled in. The rules change or get altered every year so we won’t know for sure what the prizes and conditions are until right after the match.

The Drift Vs Shuten-dōji feud has extended itself into the regular tag team division. The two sides will collide again with a future KO-D Tag Team Title shot on the line.

Sanshiro Takagi will celebrate 20 years in wrestling with a good old fashion Falls Count Anywhere Match.

I think this is the first time anywhere a champion has been labelled as X.

All the attention in Union is now on MEN’S Teioh and Kazushi Miyamoto. The two men both betrayed their tag team partners and joined forces. Teioh was teaming with Hiroshi Fukuda in what was Fukuda’s return to Union after injury. Miyamoto was teaming with Seiya Morohashi, a partnership formed by their love of gym workouts. However they weren’t on the same page in the match and at one point collided with a double Clothesline that missed its intended target. Fukuda was about to give Morohashi the Perfect Plex when all of a sudden Teioh whacked him with a chair! The rest of the Union roster came to the rescue and chased Teioh away.

But Teioh made his presence felt again in the main event, this time with Miyamoto with him. The UWA World Tag Team Titles were on the line, Isami Kodaka & FUMA versus Shuji Ishikawa & Masato Shibata. In the dying moments of the match Teioh & Miyamoto ran in with steel chairs and attacked everyone. The match was called a No Contest (but is still officially a successful title defence) and Teioh gave some parting words before leaving.

The UWA Tag Title match was restarted and everyone went full throttle. Ishikawa caught FUMA’s kicks and hit him with Headbutt after Headbutt. One Splash Mountain later and we have new champions! Ishikawa said he was going to eat more and wants everybody to become even stronger.

Madoka’s infatuation with AV idol Harumi Tachibana went up to another level today. He proposed to her! Harumi immediately turned him down. Madoka was in denial and said he would give her time to think about it while he wrestled Daichi Kazato. Afterwards Harumi told him he was being unreasonable but Madoka said he will not give up!

Ryu Gouma is suffering from a vomiting bug and was pulled from the show. Emi Sakura took his place in Match #2.

Union will bring back the Get The Glory! tournament next month. The first tournament was held in October 2013 and was won by Shuji Ishikawa. This year the tournament will be take place in two shows on 22nd February. This time twelve wrestlers will enter.
