Heck, Kazusada Higuchi could argue for a spot in the main event were he to pin either Konosuke Takeshita or Shuji Ishikawa.

6. Fluorescent Light IPPON Grand Prix – Final: Akito defeated Isami Kodaka by IPPON (12:28).

Drunkers Kingdom ended with the Fluorescent Light IPPON Grand Prix. Every match in the tournament had a single lighttube attached to the ropes. The goal was to use your opponent to break the lighttube by either throwing him through it, smashing him with it or slamming him onto it. Isami Kodaka defeated Takumi Tsukamoto by using a Samson Clutch to roll him onto the lighttube and break it. Akito, the wrestler who came up with the rules for the tournament, beat Yuko Miyamoto. Miyamoto narrowly avoided being slammed onto the lighttube by forming a bridge over it but Akito then Double Stomped him onto the tube. Akito went on to win the Grand Prix by dropping Kodaka with the Hanamasa onto the lighttube. Akito was given a trophy with IPPON written on it. He celebrated by using the trophy to drink beer. Kodaka said he wants the Grand Prix to be an annual event.

Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi wore a Judo uniform to go along with Mike Bailey’s Taekwondo outfit.

Hyper Misao said her job of protecting Shin-Kiba has become more difficult because of all the Pokémon that have recently appeared in the area. She said her phone detected a high level Pikachu backstage but that was just to distract Yuka Sakazaki so Shoko Nakajima would have to wrestle against two people on her own. Sakazaki eventually came back to aid her partner when she couldn’t find the Pikachu.

The first one to appear was Ima Naryi who attacked Hiroshi and tried to give him the Twist Of Fate. Hiroshi countered the move into a Spinebuster. Hara Cena then came out and chased Hiroshi towards the Spanish Announce Table. Hiroshi tried to give Cena the Perfect Plex through the table but Cena blocked it. Cena then gave Hiroshi the Attitude Adjustment through the table instead!

sakabash2

The “Broken Heart Boy” Tsuyoso Michaels made a special appearance to officiate a match between Shimataniel Bryan and Sagawa Joe. Bryan led the “Yes!” chants but was had the disadvantage because Michaels kept counting fast or slow in favour for Joe. A bungled attack led to Joe accidentally knocking down Michaels. When he lifted Bryan up for the Muscle Buster, Michaels stood back up and gave Joe the Sweet Chin Music. Bryan then applied the Yes Lock for the tapout victory.

sakabash3

Hiroshi came back out for the second contest of the evening, the Arm Wrestling Challenge. He yelled at the booing fans to shut up and respect him. He challenged anyone to come out but knew they were all chickens. Sirens blared throughout ringside and out came Kazushi Steiner! Hiroshi suddenly came up with an excuse that he had gout and was unable to take pary. Steiner forced him to take part and then he beat Hiroshi in the Arm Wrestling Match. Suddenly TAKA Nanbei & RENAKI came out. TAKA said they were going to kick their ass. RENAKI said “Indeed”. The hit Hiroshi with a Double Dropkick but Steiner easily knocked them down with a Double Clothesline. TAKA tried to do the Michinoku Driver but couldn’t lift him. Steiner Suplexed him and sealed the deal with the Steiner Recliner.

SUMO Rock entered and he eliminated both A Kit O and Edge.

sakabash5

Stone Cold was then given the Rock Bottom and Leg Drop before getting eliminated. Entry #11 was Geifuku Dudley but he was out as quickly as he got in. Urinho came out next and he hit Man Man Kai Kind with the Gore. #13 was The Nishinari Taker and he cleared house by getting rid of Man Man Kai Kind, Urhino, Hogaso and Rock. KI Punk fended off Taker but was ambushed by Hiroshi. Punk gave Hiroshi the GTS for his troubles.

sakabash6

Mike Tajiley almost met the same fate but he escaped by spitting Poison Mist at Punk. Hara Cena entered the ring like a house on fire and went toe to toe with Tajiley until Hiroshi snuck in and knocked Tajiley out of the ring.

sakabash7

“The Rising Sun” then blasted out of the music system to mark the entrance of Chinsuke Nakamura! He hit everyone with the Kinshasa while yelling “Iyaao!” Shimataniel Bryan was #18 and once again led “Yes!” chants.

sakabash8

That was cut short when the lights went out and the room went dark. When the lights came back on there was Nerima Sting! He attacked everybody in the ring with his baseball bat except for Hiroshi. He shook Hiroshi’s hand and left the ring so Hiroshi could pick up the pieces.

sakabash9

Taker and Chinsuke were eliminated but Cena skinned the cat. Hiroshi was still able to eliminate Cena afterwards but forgot about Bryan! Hiroshi was in the middle of celebrating when Bryan threw him out of the ring to win the Royal Rumble!

sakabash10

The show ended with TAKA Nanbei & RENAKI coming back out waving the Japanese flag. TAKA said “We are KAIENTAI” in English but Hiroshi incorrectly translated it in Japansese to “We are Cayenne Thailand”.

Speedball has arrived in Japan but Isami Kodaka was there and ready for him. Mike Bailey won over the crowd with his abilities but in the end couldn’t beat Kodaka. Bailey hit the Cancun Tornado, the Fosbury Flop and the Moonsault Knee Press but Kodaka fired back outside the ring with a Diving Double Knee Drop from the bleachers. Bailey came back with an Asai DDT but missed the Shooting Star Double Knee Drop afterwards. Isami went for a pin after a Vertical Drop Brainbuster but Bailey kicked out at one! Kodaka hit the Zeyyari but Bailey hit back with a High Kick to show he still had life left. Kodaka regained control with a low angle German Suplex and knocked Bailey down for the count with the Isamuashi Zan. Smile Squash and Shuten-dōji are the last teams to qualify for the 2nd round of the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles tournament. Smile Squash went over Happy Motels while Shuten-dōji defeated T2Hide after a planned ambush from T2Hide went sour. Kazuki Hirata did not appear with Sanshiro Takagi & Toru Owashi when they made their entrance. Takagi explained that Hirata got lost in Kobe so they will have to wrestle without him. Midway through the match Hirata’s music began to play and he rushed down to the ring to ambush his weakened opponents. Yukio Sakaguchi stopped him easily. A dance off only delayed the inevitable and Sakaguchi put an end to it with a Penalty Kick. Takagi apologised to Owashi for the plan’s failure putting his Right To Challenge contract at risk.

Makoto Oishi went into his match against Dick Togo with a special instruction from his manager Super Sasadango Machine. He wants Oishi to recruit Togo for the NωA. Oishi made Togo promise to join the idol group if Oishi could beat him. Togo was on the verge of winning when Daisuke Sasaki ran out and pushed him off the top rope. Oishi capitalised and pinned Togo for the upset. Togo reluctantly put on an NωA shirt and posed with his new bandmates. Togo got revenge on Sasaki later in the show when he attacked him during Sasaki’s tag match. Togo gave Sasaki the Pedigree and the Diving Senton while the referee was absent then placed Kouki Iwasaki on top of him for the pin. He then gave a Pedigree to the other NωA members. After Togo left the ring Oishi announced that “Togo-tan” had just graduated from NωA due to “various circumstances”. In a backstage interview Togo said the only NWA he knows is the one with Harley Race and Ric Flair in it.

5. Is He A True Friend?: Ken Ohka defeated Minoru Fujita with the Spear Of Flame (21:34).

The grudge between Ken Ohka and Minoru Fujita in Ganbare☆Wrestling has been surrounding them for over a year. Alliances, betrayals and a lot of spilt blood had come between the two. When Tomodachi-gun collapses Fujita claimed he turned over a new leaf. Again. He and Ohka faced off one more time to settle their issues and neither of them held back. Fujita was busted open early on when Ohka hit him with a chair during a ringside brawl. Fujita retaliated by targeting Ohka’s foot and bashing it against the ring post. He countered the Spear Of Flame into a Cradle for a nearfall but Ohka hit the move on his second attempt. Fujita locked in a Triangle Choke but Ohka reached the ropes and then hit a Dragon Suplex. Ohka hit the Spear Of Flame again and that got him the three count.

Despite all the bad blood between the two, Ohka just wanted Fujita to be his friend again. Fujita said his plan to take over Ganpuro took the over a year to execute and all came down to this match. And it ended in failure. Fujita admitted defeat and admitted he lost to the pro wrestler, Ken Ohka. Fujita was about to leave until he remembered something. Both Hi69 and Madoka left him high and dry last month. He knows they are still enemies of Ganpuro. Ohka offered Fujita to continue wrestling in Ganpuro and this time he can do it as his friend. Ohka also wants Fujita to wrestle at Ganpuro’s Korakuen Hall debut in October. Fujita gave a wry smile and walked away. He then stopped himself and accepted the offer. He was going to go there as the “ace” anyway.

Takafumi Ito & Shuichiro Katsumura didn’t get along during their tag match with Power Of Dreams. When one was in the ring wrestling the other would yell instructions and criticisms at the wrestling holds. Katsumura got the submission win but when he tried to shake Ito’s hand after the match, Ito grabbed his arm and put him in an Armlock.

Yukihiro Abe is back in Ganpuro’s good graces after he left Tomodachi-gun. Although he lost to Fujita last week he was back to winning ways here with Sayaka Obihiro. Ohka watched them team together and afterwards told Obihiro she passed the test to prove she is a suitable replacement in Ganpuro for Emi Sakura. In Ohka’s eyes Obihiro and Sakura are equals. Obihiro then told Ohka that Sakura will indeed come to Ganpuro soon. If this place is good enough for Obihiro then it’s good enough for Sakura too.

Happy Motels kicked off the main event by challenging their sumo opponents to a triple sumo match. The sumo team were winning until some unexpected manoeuvres sent them out of the ring. Antonio Honda tried to do a Quebrada onto them but his foot slipped on the rope and he fell to the apron. Honda was targeted but Konosuke Takeshita came to the rescue and pinned Hoshintango with a Blue Thunder Bomb. He and Toru Owashi continued fighting after the bell and had to be separated. Happy Motels ended the show by posing for a picture with the mayor of Katsuragi City.

Danshoku Dino put up a stipulation for Match #5. If he and Keisuke Ishii won the match then Katsuragi City would be declared a Gay Town from now on. Kota Umeda hated the idea and said he will make Katsuragi a Drinking Town if he and Yukio Sakaguchi won. Dino won the match and politely greeted the new Gay Town afterwards. He thanked the Gay Town for supporting him.

Guanchulo got to team up with his mentor Dick Togo in Japan for the first time. They shared a moment when they both applied the Crippler Crossface to their opponents at the same time. However Soma Takao continued his strong form when he got the pin on Guanchulo.
