5. Shoko Nakajima & Rika Tatsumi defeated Yuki Aino & Max The Impaler when Nakajima pinned Aino with the Diving Senton (16:24).
6. Tokyo Princess Cup – Final: Yuka Sakazaki defeated Miu Watanabe with the Magical Merry-Go-Round (19:36).

It took eight times for Yuka Sakazaki to finally win the Tokyo Princess Cup. She can now scratch that achievement off her list and make a claim to be arguably the strongest wrestler in Tokyo Joshi Pro! Her victory in a final brought Miu Watanabe’s summer campaign to surpass her seniors to a sad end. She did her best by hitting an Avalanche Tear Drop but she was too hurt to make the cover. Sakazaki later absorbed the Laserbeam strike and fired back with overwhelming Elbow Strikes. She grabbed onto Watanabe’s arm to keep her from falling down and pulled her into the Magical Merry-Go-Round to win the tournament.

After the match the two wrestlers hugged and Sakazaki said something into Watanabe’s ear. Watanabe left the ring to a loud applause while Sakazaki was presented with the brand new Princess Cup trophy from Naoya Yuzawa, the chief editor of Shukan Puroresu/Weekly Pro-Wrestling magazine. Sakazaki said she is feeling tired but also very happy to see everybody becoming more stronger. She doesn’t like that there is so much pink on the new trophy but she is very happy to have it. Her emotions have been shaken all tournament long especially when she saw both Shoko Nakajima and Miyu Yamashita get eliminated. She feels like she has become the big sister for the rest of TJPW because she wants to see everyone do well.

Sakazaki then called Nakajima into the ring. Winning the Princess Cup means she should get another shot at the Princess Of Princess Title. Nakajima said Sakazaki always gave her courage and pushed her back. It is alright by her to give Sakazaki another title match. The two agreed to have the match at Tokyo Dome City Hall for “WRESTLE PRINCESS III” on 9th October. Meanwhile Watanabe said backstage that no matter how many times she gets frustrated and no matter how many tears she sheds, she will work even harder to surpass her seniors and win next year’s tournament.

Nakajima had her hands full earlier in the show. She teamed up with Rika Tatsumi but even their powers combined struggled against Max The Impaler. The weakness they needed to exploit was Max’s unusual team-up with Yuki Aino. A misfired Lariat hit Aino and Max was then knocked away by Tatsumi’s Hip Attack. It took a lot just to keep Max away but Nakajima found enough time to isolate Aino and pin her with the Diving Senton. Nakajima said it was a scary match but she still enjoyed it. Tatsumi agreed and hopes Max comes back to Japan some day. The two of them now consider Max their friend! Aino also appreciated Max for coming over because they are really cool and inspiring.

The current Princess Tag Team Champions used today’s match to sharpen their skills before the next title defence. Reiwa AA Cannon went up against Hikari Noa & Arisu Endo. Together Saki Akai & Yuki Arai used double team moves on Endo while Noa kept getting in the way to cut off their momentum. Akai eventually got Noa out of the ring and hit a PK from across the apron to keep her away while Arai pinned Endo with the Finally.

After yesterday’s disappointing losses, Miyu Yamashita and Suzume both got to lighten up a bit by being thrown into a wacky 6-Woman Tag match with the likes of Raku, Haruna Neko and Pom Harajuku. There was also Mizuki there too to speed up the action. Harajuku wanted to do some high flying too but she was a sitting duck for Yamashita’s High Kick. One Attitude Adjustment later and Yamashita’s team were the winners.

Upcoming Princess Tag Title challengers Toyo Mates had their own preparations to sort out by taking on the masked duo of Hyper Misao & Kaya Toribami. One thing was Yuki Kamifuku did not want to sit through Misao’s usual opening speech. She took the microphone and gave it to Mahiro Kiryu so she could give a cool speech instead. Kiryu ended up getting attacked by Misao to start the match. Toyo Mates eventually eliminated Misao with the Big Boot/Spinebuster combo and Kiryu then hit a proper Spinebuster on Toribami to get the win.

The opening match saw Nao Kakuta beat Moka Miyamoto with a rough and tough performance in the ring. She was able to break out of the Rashomon and pin her opponent with the Shiden Kai.

The Up Up Girls (Pro Wrestling) had a big surprise for everyone after they finished their musical performance at the beginning of the show. After months of auditioning about 100 applicants, they are now adding a brand new member to the group! The new member is named Shino. She is a former bus guide who was born in Shizuoka on 15th July, 1998. The first time she attended a pro wrestling show was the 3rd May TJPW event in Korakuen Hall. Shoko Nakajima left a huge impression on her that day so her goal is to reach Nakajima’s level. Her favourite idol is Sakura Oda from Morning Musume. When Shino finished introducing herself to the audience, Hikari Noa asked her if she would like to do a death match.

6. Spirit Of Ganbare World Openweight Title: Yumehito Imanari (c) defeated Shigehiro Irie with a Sleeper Hold (27:44).
*V2 for Yumehito Imanari.

Quite possibly Ganbare☆Pro’s match of the year took place in the main event. Yumehito Imanari wanted to earn Shigehiro Irie’s respect the hard way and by God he definitely did in the end. For almost half an hour the two beat the hell out of each other as hard as they could. Irie gave Imanari a Piledriver on the floor, a Cannonball Attack into Imanari’s spine while he was leaning on the ropes as well as Beast Bombers and heavy Elbow Strikes. Imanari kept his resolve by hitting his own Lariats as well as getting nearfalls with the Tiger Driver and Lou Thesz Press. When all else failed, Imanari locked in a Sleeper Hold and would not let go no matter how hard Irie fought. The Back Flip looked like it would free him but Imanari took the blow and reapplied the hold, forcing Irie to finally give up.

An exhausted Imanari thanked Irie after the match but his next challenger then immediately stepped forward. Hartley Jackson stepped into the ring and praised Imanari for becoming the soul of Ganpro. However Hartley thinks it is now his time to be in the spotlight and he challenged Imanari for the Spirit Of Ganbare Title. When he left, Ken Ohka complained about not understanding English at all. He congratulated Imanari and promoted Ganpro’s next show in Korakuen Hall taking place this December. Imanari had to be helped out of the ring so the rest of the roster closed out the show without him. Backstage Hartley said sometimes in life you have to be the bad guy to get what you want. He does not mind being the bad guy in order to get that championship.

Ganpro got to host Tatsuhito Takaiwa’s 30th Anniversary Match with a large chunk of the roster also involved. Takaiwa got to spend in-ring time against previous opponents Kouki Iwasaki and Shuichiro Katsumura. But it is Keisuke Ishii in particular he was most interested in because they’ve not had a singles match against each other yet. He told the audience he still has 35 or 40 years left in his career so don’t call him a legend yet. He is still aiming to reach the top as a mid-level wrestler. Both Ohka and Shuichiro Katsumura said they were honored to team with him for the special occasion.

The two wrestlers making up ROMANCE DAWN fought each other as they are about to go their separate ways. Shota will be moving to America soon so he took on Soma Takao as part of his farewell series of matches in Ganpro. Takao kicked out of the Gannosuke Clutch and won with the Gin And Tonic. Backstage Shota said a new chapter is beginning for both of them. Takao agreed and added that the team is not breaking up. Their friendship will never disappear and some day they will reunite for another romantic battle as a team.

For a match this important, HARUKAZE went all out against Makoto. Unfortunately her best was not good enough and Makoto got the better of her in the end. Afterwards Makoto said she is really happy that HARUKAZE nominated her for her 5th Anniversary match. In return HARUKAZE thanked her for being the impetus for her return to wrestling five years ago. She wants to continue wrestling and also wants to fight Makoto again in the future.

Jackson showed how much of a dominant force he is along with Max The Impaler earlier in the show. Together the two of them defeated Mizuki Watase & Tyson Maeguchi. Jackson got the pin on Maeguchi and he bragged about destroying Ganpro’s spirit. Watase was so amazed by the power of his opponents today that he is inspired to follow them back to America. He thinks it is a waste if today was the only time he could fight them.

The re-debut of Yoshiko Hasegawa saw the newest signing of Ganbare☆Joshi team up with Yuna Manase to take on Moeka Haruhi & YuuRI. Just because Hasegawa’s return was a cause for celebration did not mean her opponents would go easy on her. Instead she was put through a tough fight that ended with Haruhi making her submit. Once the match was over though, Haruhi was much nicer and had plenty of advice to give. She told Hasegawa that Ganpro is about doing your best in every single match. It is about always trying harder to surpass yourself. And it is about being a pro wrestler that people cannot take their eyes off. Hasegawa said she will become stronger and promised to aim for the top of the Ganjo division. Backstage Manase said her ring boots were damaged so she had to borrow Ken Ohka’s boots for the match. In a way that meant the two of them were fighting together to carry Ganpro! That was her lesson she wanted Hasegawa to learn today.

7. Tokyo Princess Cup – Semi Final: Yuka Sakazaki defeated Suzume with the Magical Merry-Go-Round (11:56).
8. Tokyo Princess Cup – Semi Final: Miu Watanabe defeated Miyu Yamashita with the Tear Drop (18:23).

This year’s Tokyo Princess Cup is being built around the young generation wanting to surpass their seniors. Miu Watanabe has been leading the charge and it has taken her all the way to the final! She defeated Miyu Yamashita in a year where it looked like the Tokyo Joshi Pro ace had finally figured out how to win the tournament. Watanabe showed great toughness by taking a German Suplex and a High Kick only to duck the Skull Kick and drop Yamashita with the Tear Drop for the three count. Rika Tatsumi rushed over to Watanabe after the match to congratulate her and Yamashita shook her hand. Backstage Yamashita said when she looked into Watanabe’s eyes she realized how intense the last four years they spent working together was. She was overwhelmed by both her own strength as well as Watanabe’s. She is extremely disappointed to lose but also sees how passionate the younger wrestlers are becoming. That there is now a generational battle going on in TJPW means the promotion has built up a lot of history and that shows how much it has grown.

The other semi final saw Yuka Sakazaki eliminate Suzume, ending the younger wrestler’s Cinderella run in the tournament. Suzume’s plan was to go for quick covers and high flying moves. But the big momentum shift of the match happened when Sakazaki gave her the Tea Time. From there she hit an impactful Sliding Lariat before pinning her with the Magical Merry-Go-Round. Suzume heard Sakazaki’s previous comments about her not being a threat. But Suzume thinks she was a dangerous opponent for Sakazaki after all. When they were in the ring, Suzume forgot about the tournament because she couldn’t stand losing to the person in front of her.

Tomorrow’s final has come down to Watanabe against Sakazaki. Watanabe told Sakazaki she wants to surpass her and win the tournament. Sakazaki said she cannot lose because she’s been competing in the Princess Cup longer than Watanabe has wrestled and never won it. She will see her tomorrow and the two gave each other a fist bump. It took Watanabe four years to finally catch up to Yamashita and if she wins tomorrow it means she has beaten TJPW’s top three wrestlers in the same tournament (Sakazaki, Yamashita and Shoko Nakajima). Sakazaki has called this year’s Princess Cup a grueling competition because the younger wrestlers are showing a lot of guts. She hopes it will turn the Tokyo Princess Cup into the can’t miss tournament of the summer!

The next challengers for the Princess Tag Team Titles have been decided after Mahiro Kiryu pinned Yuki Arai in a 6-Woman Tag Match. Yuki Kamifuku & Haruna Neko dealt with Saki Akai & Moka Miyamoto so Kiryu could pin Arai with the Spinebuster. She politely asked Reiwa AA Cannon for a title shot even though she lost to them before and also lost to Arai in the Princess Cup. Akai accepted the challenge. Kiryu then apologized to Kamifuku for not getting her permission to ask for the title match. Kamifuku admitted she is surprised by Kiryu’s actions but hoped this day would come because she wants Kiryu to be more assertive. Kiryu later revealed she dyed her hair “iron blue” today to match the Toyo University colours. It shows how much she wants Toyo Mates to succeed.

Nobody was more terrified of Max The Impaler than Pom Harajuku. She had the unfortunate task of being Max’s first opponent in Japan and Max did not even wait for the bell to ring to get started. Harajuku was able to leave the ring and tried to run away but she was persuaded by Yuki Aino and Raku to continue the match. Her Shin Kicks worked a little bit but Max ended up winning with a Short Range Lariat, shouting “bye bye” to Harajuku before hitting the move.

The 3 Way Match tried to play up a potential love triangle between the trio involved. Hyper Misao brought out a picture of Tatsumi and admitted she has feelings for her. Tatsumi rejected her with a kick because she wanted to be with Mizuki instead. Mizuki stood by Tatsumi’s side but only so she had the numbers advantage. She betrayed Tatsumi when the opportunity presented itself. Misao brought out a spray can to blind her opponents. Tatsumi grabbed it but accidentally sprayed both Mizuki and the referee by mistake. But since the ref was temporarily blinded, Tatsumi hit Misao with the can without penalty and then pinned her with the Twist Of Fate.

Mei Suruga’s return to TJPW pitted her against a familiar opponent. She and Arisu Endo previously fought each other at “SUMMER SUN PRINCESS ’22” last month. Suruga won the match here by making Endo submit to the Gateau Invisible. Endo hesitated to shake her hand after the match so Suruga gave her a heavy pat on the head.

A stretcher was used during Match #2 when Free WiFi tried to carry Raku with it out of the arena. However Hikari Noa & Nao Kakuta couldn’t decide on which direction to go so they dropped Raku onto the floor instead. They got back on the same page when Noa stopped Raku from doing the Doctor Yellow to Kakuta. Then Kakuta pinned Raku with the Shiden Kai.

The reigning Princess Of Princess Champion found herself wrestling in the opening match after getting eliminated midway through the Princess Cup. She took on Kaya Toribami, who she’s been friends with since before Toribami became a pro wrestler. A lot of the match was kept on the mat with submission holds but picked up the pace until Nakajima hit the 619 and then the Northern Lights Suplex for the victory.

Max The Impaler has arrived in Japan and went on a rampage inside the Tokyo Sports offices. Max stormed into the building during the early afternoon in search of Pom Harajuku. When they could not find her, they instead took one of the female employees hostage. Max also stole some gyoza dumplings in the office kitchen before escaping with their hostage. After Max left, Tetsuya Koda got in touch with Tokyo Sports explaining he sent a great foreign wrestler over for a promotional interview and wanted to know how it went? When staff explained what happened, Koda came to the conclusion he misunderstood the meaning of the word “great” when it is applied to Max. He went to retrieve the employee from Max and safely returned her to the office. The bag of dumplings however was empty when he found it.

Meanwhile the rest of the Tokyo Joshi Pro roster are spending the day sharing their fondest memories of Pom Harajuku, fully expecting her to get destroyed by Max in the ring tomorrow.

The debuting Takeshi Masada says he wants to leave an impact in his first match so DDT fans will remember him. He discovered pro wrestling back in junior high school when his brother showed him a Youtube video of Kota Ibushi. He already knew about pro wrestling from the Showa era but never knew how spectacular it could be until he saw that video. He took up Shorinji Kempo because his high school did not have a wrestling club. His desire to become a pro wrestler became so strong he quit the Shorinji Kempo club and applied for the DDTeeeen!! project. The pandemic cancelled those plans until he talked to Makoto Oishi at a DDT show in Osaka and applied for DDT’s proper dojo. He’s never been an honor student of any sort so he is confused that he is already debuting after only three months of training. In the future Masada wants to do street wrestling matches in his hometown and at his university campus whenever he goes back to college.

Joey Janela has also arrived safely in Japan, ready to take on Akito for the DDT Extreme Title.

Order Of Elimination: Antonio Honda, Hiroshi Yamato, Chris Brookes, Akito, Sanshiro Takagi, Yukio Naya, Hoshitango, Shunma Katsumata, MAO, Yuki “Sexy” Iino, Danshoku “Dandy” Dieno and Yuji Hino.

During the Battle Royal the White Briefs Man appeared and attacked Sanshiro Takagi (who was wearing a red loincloth as part of the match gimmick). The two brawled out of the venue and were last seen fighting towards Chiba Station. Danshoku Dieno criticized Takagi after the show for his behavior, thinking he is putting DDT at risk. What if he got caught by the police and had to tell them he is the company’s president? Kaji Tomato ended up winning the Battle Royal and led everyone in a group dance to end the show.

The Ω reunion turned out to be bittersweet because they lost to Harimao. The end result saw Naomi Yoshimura pin Makoto Oishi with the Harai Goshi. Oishi was mad at himself for losing because he remembers the Ω version of himself being much stronger and scarier. Yuji Hino told him the Ω reunion will make a complete comeback at the next DDT/ONLY WE show scheduled for 8th October. Kazusada Higuchi was in a better mood. He remembers losing to Hino at last year’s King Of DDT tournament. He got a little measure of revenge today.

Daisuke Sasaki unmasked El Unicorn again after pretending to show respect by shaking his hand after their match. Sasaki later said he still wants his match against Unicorn on 26th August to be Mask Vs Hair. He wants to win Unicorn’s mask and be reborn as Sasacorn! He also mocked Eruption for not coming out to confront DAMNATION T.A when they had the chance. Unicorn said any rules are fine because he will beat Sasaki with a three count!

Nishimura was touched by this and said if Kawamatsu respects him that much, he will show him the Muga style in a DDT ring. Nishimura isn’t forgetting about Akito and Takao though. Even though it is a tag match, Nishimura will treat it like he’s fighting against three different opponents on his own to show how determined he is.

The match also means a lot to Takao because it is taking place in his home of Ota Ward and he some day hopes to become a city councilor. He would like to learn from both Kawamatsu and Nishimura to achieve that goal. Nishimura spent most of his time talking about his hometown Bunkyo and had to be reminded by Hisaya Imabayashi to talk about the wrestling match.

7. Beer Garden Specialty Customer Lottery 6-Man Tag Match: Kazusada Higuchi, Tetsuya Endo, Konosuke Takeshita, Naomi Yoshimura, Yuki Ueno, Chris Brookes

The upcoming Beer Garden show may be a little different than usual but some of the traditions are sticking around. The main event 6-Man Tag will determine its teams by a lottery held at the start of the show. Randomly chosen fans will pick names or balls out of a box that decides who teams with who. Also on the card is Imabayashi’s annual ghost story. They can be so scary it’s fatal!

The grudge match between Daisuke Sasaki and El Unicorn is going ahead but without any stipulation added to it. Unicorn wants to get revenge for DAMNATION T.A constantly unmasking him. Sasaki was willing to put his hair on the line against Unicorn’s mask but that does not seem to be necessary for now.

It’s still supposed to be a non-alcohol Beer Garden show but three of the DDT wrestlers will do their damnedest to get drunk anyway. The drinking songs just aren’t the same when you only chug glasses of water to them. You know what I’m saying?

6. Maki Itoh & Yuki Kamifuku defeated Miyu Yamashita & Nao Kakuta when Kamifuku pinned Kakuta with the Diving Famouser (11:54).

Today’s show was a homecoming for Yuki Kamifuku in Fujisawa City. When the show began she presented the mayor of Fujisawa City with a donation made out of a portion of the event’s earnings. The donation will go towards local scholarships. The main event itself was Kamifuku forming the MakiYuki Happy team with Maki Itoh to take on Miyu Yamashita & Nao Kakuta. Kamifuku welcomed her opponents to her town and when she gave them Eye Pokes she told them it was “The Fujisawa Way”. MakiYuki Happy ended up shining brightly in the end. Kamifuku got rid of Yamashita with the Famouser and then pinned Kakuta with the Diving Famouser.

She thanked the audience for coming to see Tokyo Joshi Pro because she loves the company as much as she loves her hometown. When she was a student she had difficulty finding a hobby to be passionate about. When she joined TJPW she found her dreams and one by one made them come true. This show was the biggest one and she is happy to come back here with her friends and colleagues from Tokyo.

Upcoming Tokyo Princess Cup opponents Yuka Sakazaki and Suzume faced off in a tag match on the undercard. After the match Sakazaki said in her backstage interview that she is not feeling any danger when she wrestles against Suzume. She is looking forward to their semi final match but right now she doesn’t feel threatened at all.

The 3 Way Match was summer themed. Hyper Misao and Pom Harajuku came out wearing straw hats, swimming goggles and playing with a beach ball. The referee even wore a tie dye shirt over his regular uniform. Only Mahiro Kiryu showed up looking normal and got mad over being left out.

6. Special 6-Man Tag Match: Kazusada Higuchi, Naomi Yoshimura & Yuki Ishida defeated Yuki Ueno, Shunma Katsumata & Toi Kojima when Higuchi pinned Kojima with the Brain Claw Slam (20:34).

Yesterday Kazusada Higuchi knocked out Yuki Ishida. Today they were on the same team due to positive covid tests in the roster changing some of the matches. There was no bad blood over yesterday’s result. In fact, Ishida wanted to team with Harimao because he knows how great Higuchi & Naomi Yoshimura have been lately.

Sanshiro Takagi confronted Pheromones backstage looking to find out the identity of the White Briefs Man. He started attacking them when they wouldn’t answer. White Briefs Man then appeared behind Takagi and gave him a Low Blow. Pheromones added insult to injury on Takagi with their lewd antics before escaping.
