DDT “BEER GARDEN-LIKE PRO WRESTLING 2020 DAY 1”, 30/07/2020
Shinjuku FACE

1. HARASHIMA & Chris Brookes Vs Soma Takao & Mad Paulie
2. Jun Akiyama & Hideki Okatani Vs Naomi Yoshimura & Keigo Nakamura
3. 3 Way Tag Match: Daisuke Sasaki & Tetsuya Endo Vs Makoto Oishi & Mizuki Watase Vs Yuki Iino & Yukio Naya
4. Super Sasadango Machine Produce Match – Hell In A Blue Sheet Timed Blast! Kaidan Shin Numabukuro Death Match: Muscle Sakai, Danshoku Dieno & Antonio Honda Vs Akito, Yumehito Imanari & Shota
5. Saki Akai Produce Match – NEO Biishiki-gun New Member Open Audition: X Vs X (Judges: Sakisama & Yukio Saint Laurent)
6. Konosuke Takeshita Produce Match – DDT Sauna Club Vs DDT Legend Army!: Konosuke Takeshita, Shunma Katsumata & Yuki Ueno Vs Sanshiro Takagi, MIKAMI & Tanomusaku Toba

It’s not quite Beer Garden but it is close. DDT’s past meets DDT’s present in the main event of Day 1. MIKAMI & Tanomusaku Toba, aka The Suicide Boyz come back to DDT for their first match here in almost three years. They join forces with Sanshiro Takagi to fight the current day united force that is the DDT Sauna Club.

Dunno why Saki Akai is producing the NEO Biishiki-gun audition. She’s never met Sakisama and doesn’t have anything in common with her or Yukio Saint Laurent either.

The Hell In A Blue Sheet match makes its DDT debut after some successful(?) test runs in Muscle. It’s also going to include Hisaya Imabayashi so maybe we’ll get a scary ghost story too.

DDT “BEER GARDEN-LIKE PRO WRESTLING 2020 DAY 2”, 31/07/2020
Shinjuku FACE

1. Soma Takao Vs Hideki Okatani
2. Chris Brookes & Akito Vs Daisuke Sasaki & Mad Paulie
3. Jun Akiyama & Mizuki Watase Vs Kazusada Higuchi & Tomomitsu Matsunaga
4. Danshoku Dieno Produce Match – Elimination Tornado Pantyhose Generation Struggle!: Danshoku Dieno, Super Sasadango Machine, Makoto Oishi & Antonio Honda Vs Seigo Tachibana, Yuki Iino, Yukio Naya & Keigo Nakamura
5. HARASHIMA Produce Special Rule 5 Way Match: HARASHIMA Vs Toru Owashi Vs Yuki Ueno Vs Naomi Yoshimura Vs Kazuki Hirata
6. Tetsuya Endo Produce Match – DAMNATION Vs ALL OUT!: Tetsuya Endo & Nobuhiro Shimatani Vs Konosuke Takeshita & Shunma Katsumata

What a good friend Tetsuya Endo is. He’s still giving Nobuhiro Shimatani the main event spotlight when the chance presents itself.

An all DISASTER BOX 5 Way match with a mystery rule attached. What on earth does HARASHIMA have planned for his stable?

The other DDT inter-generational battle involves pantyhose. Seigo Tachibana is reluctantly taking part on Danshoku Dieno’s suggestion because he really wants to continue wrestling in DDT.

DDT “BEER GARDEN-LIKE PRO WRESTLING 2020 DAY 3”, 01/08/2020
Shinjuku FACE

0. Special Under Match “Can You Lose?”: Tetsuya Koda Vs Hisaya Imabayashi
1. Mizuki Watase Vs Yukio Naya
2. Danshoku Dieno & Akito Vs Soma Takao & Mad Paulie
3. Jun Akiyama, Makoto Oishi & Hideki Okatani Vs HARASHIMA, Toru Owashi & Keigo Nakamura
4. Drunk 3 Way Match: Daisuke Sasaki Vs Yukio Sakaguchi Vs Yuki Iino
5. Rock And Roll 4 Way Death Match: Saki Akai Vs Antonio Honda Vs Kazuki Hirata Vs Shunma Katsumata
6. Customer Lottery 6-Man Tag Match That Looks Like A Beer Garden Specialty: Tetsuya Endo, Chris Brookes, Yuki Ueno, Naomi Yoshimura, Konosuke Takeshita, Kazusada Higuchi

It’s not the Beer Garden but if it was, it would end with the Customer Lottery 6-Man as always.

What, is A.YAZAWA not around for the Rock And Roll Death Match?

I always thought Yukio Sakaguchi was a sophisticated drinker from his days in Shuten-dōji. We can safely say Daisuke Sasaki isn’t. Yuki Iino is a bit of a wild card in this.

GAKE NO FUCHI JOSHI PRO “GAKE ONNA FESTIVAL! 2020 SUMMER ~STAR☆IT’S SUMMER~”, 01/08/2020
Shinjuku FACE

1. Special Single Match: Nobuhiro Shimatani (w/ Mao) Vs Keigo Nakamura (w/ ARISA)
2. Falls Count Anywhere Tornado Gake no Fuchi Hardcore Special Tag Match: Miyako Matsumoto & Chris Brookes Vs Drew Parker & Rina Yamashita

The match between Shimatani and Keigo Nakamura will now include Divas. Shimatani will be accompanied by Mao, who has appeared in Gake no Fuchi Joshi before. Nakamura will be with one of Miyako Matsumoto’s friends from the hostess world, ARISA. She promises to do her best with her sexy power. Mao apologizes in advance because she doesn’t know what she is going to do when she gets into the ring.

DDT “SUMMER ITABASHI SERIES”, 12/07/2020
Tokyo Itabashi Green Hall

1. Naomi Yoshimura Vs Hideki Okatani
2. Kazusada Higuchi & Saki Akai Vs Antonio Honda & Keigo Nakamura
3. 3 Way Match: Chris Brookes Vs Akito Vs Mad Paulie
4. The Evil Yankee Wrestler Seigo Tachibana’s Road To The Top: Yukio Sakaguchi Vs Seigo Tachibana
5. 3 Way Tag Match: Danshoku Dieno & Toru Owashi Vs Makoto Oishi & Mizuki Watase Vs Shunma Katsumata & Yuki Iino
6. Konosuke Takeshita Vs Yukio Naya
7. DAMNATION Vs DISASTER BOX!: Daisuke Sasaki, Tetsuya Endo & Soma Takao Vs HARASHIMA, Yuki Ueno & Kazuki Hirata

Yesterday was eventful for HARASHIMA. He is normally a very private person away from wrestling but he announced he recently got married! Oh and yesterday was also his 46th birthday. Again, information that wasn’t publicly known until now. So yeah, things are going swell for him at the moment.

BASARA “BASARA 129 ~BANQUET~”, 14/07/2020
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi & SAGAT Vs Masato Kamino & Tetsuo Usui
2. FUMA & Yusuke Kubo Vs Daichi Kazato & Leo Isaka
3. 3 Way Tag Match: Ryuichi Sekine & Minoru Fujita Vs Ryota Nakatsu & Akiyori Takizawa Vs Takumi Tsukamoto & Yasu Urano
4. Daiki Shimomura Vs Takato Nakano
5. IRON FIST Tag Titles – Turnabout Pro Wrestling Trial: Tsutomu Oosugi & Banana Senga (c) Vs Gouma Ryu & Ryuji Ito (Defendent: Ryuichi Sekine)
6. Union MAX Title: Fuminori Abe (c) Vs Isami Kodaka

It’s been very quiet on the BASARA front for the last few weeks. They haven’t been posting much news on their website. Instead their priority was running the Clutch bar in Shinjuku. Well this week they have plenty to talk about. The Heaven Summit ~Itadaki~ tournament is coming back but first they have a Banquet show to get through. The IRON FIST TAG Titles match is now also a Pro Wrestling Trial with Ryuchi Sekine going to court.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “BRAND NEW WRESTLING 4 ~TAKE NOT, BUT GIVE~”, 23/07/2020
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Aona Debut Match: Aona Vs X
2. Himawari Unagi Return Match: Himawari Unagi Vs X
3. Yuna Manase Regular Participation Last Match: Yuna Manase, Nodoka Tenma & Maki Itoh Vs Miyu Yamashita, Mizuki & Natsumi Maki
4. Princess Tag Team Titles: Rika Tatsumi & Miu Watanabe (c) Vs Shoko Nakajima & Hyper Misao
5. Princess Of Princess Title: Yuka Sakazaki (c) Vs Yuki Aino

Yuki Aino won the No. 1 Contender match to earn the Princess Of Princess Title shot. Beating Yuka Sakazaki for the title would be a tremendous way to cap off the last few months for her.

What a powerful force Shoko Nakajima & Hyper Misao can be together. The kaiju and superhero might be the strongest combination around to take the Princess Tag Titles from Daydream.

Yuna Manase has decided to end her regular participation with Tokyo Joshi Pro on 23rd July. Manase has been wrestling for TJPW since 2017 and in the last year reached several achievements. She made it to the final of the Tokyo Princess Cup and won the International Princess Title. However she couldn’t win the Princess Cup final and failed to defend the International Title even once. Her wrestling career began in Stardom, went to Actwres girl’Z and ended up in TJPW. All three companies mean a lot to Manase so she spoke to Rossy Ogawa, Tetsuya Koda and Keiji Sakaguchi before making this decision. She does not want to quit pro wrestling but she understands she is in the latter stages of her career. The time has come for her to try something new yet she hasn’t decided on what her future will be past the 23rd.

DDT “SUMMER VACATION 2020”, 23/07/2020
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Soma Takao & Mad Paulie Vs Yukio Naya & Keigo Nakamura
2. Toru Owashi, Naomi Yoshimura & Kazuki Hirata Vs Danshoku Dieno, Super Sasadango Machine & Seigo Tachibana
3. Chris Brookes & Drew Parker Vs Daisuke Sasaki & Nobuhiro Shimatani
4. Akiyama-gun Vs ALL OUT All Out Battle!: Jun Akiyama, Makoto Oishi, Mizuki Watase & Hideki Okatani Vs Konosuke Takeshita, Akito, Shunma Katsumata & Yuki Iino
5. DDT Extreme Title: Shinya Aoki (c) Vs Maku Donaruto
6. KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles: Kazusada Higuchi, Yukio Sakaguchi & Saki Akai (c) Vs HARASHIMA, Antonio Honda & Riho
7. KO-D Openweight Title: Tetsuya Endo (c) Vs Yuki Ueno

I don’t know what goes on in Shinya Aoki’s mind. He chose Maku Donaruto as his next DDT Extreme Title challenger. What must he be thinking to do with him?

Akiyama-gun have been training for the 8-Man Tag against ALL OUT. Their latest session also included Yukio Naya and Keigo Nakamura as sparring partners. Hideki Okatani said he is learning a lot of details from Jun Akiyama in a way that is different from when he was a trainee. Mizuki Watase said he would like to use the Front Neck Lock the same way Akiyama does it. Makoto Oishi is also eager to wrestle like his coach does. Akiyama joked that the entire group is cohesive except for Oishi. One last thing, Akiyama-gun are looking for an official unit name and have asked fans to come out with one. They will pick a name in time for the Korakuen Hall show.

2. Falls Count Anywhere Tornado Gake no Fuchi Hardcore Special Tag Match: Miyako Matsumoto & Chris Brookes Vs Drew Parker & Rina Yamashita

Gake no Fuchi Joshi has urgently decided to hold a show in front of an audience against later this summer. This is the brand’s first show in Shinjuku FACE so the big match being made is Miyako Matsumoto & Chris Brookes Vs Drew Parker & Rina Yamashita! Matsumoto’s goal is to draw more fans than the DDT show taking place in the same venue later that night.

DDT “FIGHTING BEER GARDEN 2019 EXTRA EDITION ~SHINKIBA BEER GARDEN ONE NIGHT STAND~”, 30/08/2019
Shin-Kiba 1st RING
450 Fans – Super No Vacancy Full House

1. Naomi Yoshimura, Saki Akai & Gisele Shaw defeated Akito, Shunma Katsumata & Asuka when Yoshimura pinned Katsumata with the Shonenba (9:19).
2. Blindfold 3 Way Match: Mad Paulie defeated Masahiro Takanashi and Kazuki Hirata when Paulie pinned Hirata with the Paulie Buster (10:32).
3. Lucha Libre Rules: Tetsuya Endo & Puma King defeated Toru Owashi & Yuki Ueno when Endo pinned Ueno with La Magistral Cradle (9:03).
4. Budweiser Presents Drunk Match: Jiro Kuroshio & Kazusada Higuchi defeated Daisuke Sasaki & Soma Takao when Higuchi pinned Sasaki with the Airplane Spin Doctor Bomb (15:39).
5. I Don’t Know If It Is A Lie Or A True Ghost Story Shin Numabukuro 5 Way Death Match: Danshoku Dieno Vs Makoto Oishi Vs Hiroshi Yamato Vs Yukio Naya Vs Su Yung ended in a Time Limit Draw (3:00).
6. Special Single Match ~Gongitsune Vs Cobra~: Santino Marella defeated Antonio Honda with the Cobra (13:25).
7. HARASHIMA, Yukio Sakaguchi & Ken Ohka defeated Konosuke Takeshita, MAO & Nobuhiro Shimatani when HARASHIMA pinned Shimatani with the Somato (17:54).

The summer has come to an end so DDT spent their final days of the season running one more Beer Garden show. The main event finish saw Nobuhiro Shimatani take the finishers from every member of the opposing team. The show ended with the DDT roster minus DAMNATION all having a toast inside the ring. HARASHIMA called on the fans to look forward to DDT’s next Korakuen Hall and Sumo Hall shows. Kazuki Hirata danced to “TOKYO GO!” until Ken Ohka hit him with the Fire Spear. Ohka told everyone that they have to continue fighting, even the wrestlers from BASARA and Ganbare☆Wrestling. It turns out NOAH is running Sumo Hall the day before “ULTIMATE PARTY 2019!” and Big Japan will be the day after. There is a wrestling world war going on and Ohka wants to win it!

Antonio Honda came prepared for his clash with Santino Marella and his dreaded Cobra but it had to be a last ditch plan. When Marella used the Cobra to strike Honda in his Gongitsune arm, Honda pulled out a recorder and played a snake charming song to make Marella lose control of the Cobra. Then Honda took out his secret weapon, a Gon The Fox hand puppet! The Fox bit the Cobra, leaving Honda in a weakened state. Honda went for the Shining Gongitsune but Marella caught him with the Cobra strike to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Honda told Marella that he wanted the Fox to eat the Cobra but it couldn’t because half of Marella’s heart is in Canada but the other half is in Japan! Marella told everyone that he learned Judo in Koshigaya, Saitama years ago. He is a retired pro wrestler but was happy to get the chance to unleash the Cobra in his second home.

Yukio Naya was the only person new to the spooky storytelling of the Shin Numabukuro Death Match. When he learned that a ghost story would be told if the match didn’t end in three minutes, he told everyone that he gets scared easily. Things were made even scarier when Su Yung entered the ring! The match was now a 5 Way and if it ended in three minutes then Yung would eat everyone! She attacked the trainee Keigo Nakamura and dragged him away from ringside. When she came back out she was carrying Nakamura’s detached arm! The three minutes ran out and everyone was terrified they were about to get eaten. Hisaya Imabayashi then revealed that this was the scary story! The fear of getting eaten by a zombie was exactly the kind of reaction he wanted to get this year. Danshoku Dieno asked if that meant no one would get eaten? Imabayashi said Yung could still eat somebody and he suddenly pointed at Dieno, making him faint. He then pointed at the others one by one, causing them all to faint. But when he pointed at Yung she didn’t react. Imabayashi woke everyone up and together they all pointed at Yung to defeat her. Imabayashi said the world is now protected and “Wild Thing” played over the sound system. But when he left the ring, zombie Nakamura appeared and ate him!

Daisuke Sasaki & Soma Takao came to the ring drinking beer. They said that due to demands from a “third party” their match against Jiro Kuroshio & Kazusada Higuchi is now a Drunk Match sponsored by Budweiser. A wrestler had to take a drink after a kick out or a rope break. Also everyone had to take a drink whenever music played. As the wrestlers got drunker, Sasaki and Takao got more and more into calling themselves Higuchi’s dad. Higuchi got drunk enough to consider it was possible and he ended up fighting Kuroshio instead. However he snapped out of it and used an Airplane Spin variation of the Doctor Bomb to pin Sasaki.

Toru Owashi asked for his tag match to be held under Lucha Rules. Puma King replied in Spanish and Yuki Ueno badly translated it. He said King called him “the nice guy in the white costume” and King called Owashi a “black pig”. Owashi later got mad at Tetsuya Endo and Yuki Ueno for doing a regular lock-up instead of lucha transitions. They began to trade Arm Drags until Yukinori Matsui got involved. Matsui did one and Endo punched him in the stomach afterwards. Owashi put Endo in the Paradise Lock then King put Owashi in the Paradise Lock. Ueno tried to do the move to King but didn’t know how to do it. King put Ueno in a Romero Special but Owashi crawled on top of King for a pin. Endo broke the pin, gave an Overhead Kick to Ueno and pinned him with La Magistral Cradle.

The Blindfold 3 Way match saw Kazuki Hirata and then Masahiro Takanashi both attack Keigo Nakamura outside the ring, knocking off his glasses in the process. Hirata picked up the glasses thinking they were his HIRATA GO glasses. He put them on but the music that played was “TOKIO” by Kenji Sawada. Mad Paulie found the HIRATA GO glasses and the usual “TOKYO GO” music played when he put them on. He struck Hirata while they danced and got the win with the Paulie Buster.

Gisele Shaw’s DDT debut was a successful one, teaming with Naomi Yoshimura & Saki Akai to defeat Akito, Shunma Katsumata & Asuka.

The Recycling Death Match will involve weapons and items used in previous DDT and Ganbare☆Wrestling matches that were just left lying around in storage afterwards. An example was used by Sanshiro Takagi when he kept a chair he used at the TAKAYAMANIA show from earlier this week. Ohka’s example is the jacket and ten gallon hat he wore during his absence from Ganpro shows last year.

Cody Hall is the mystery wrestler in the opener. He met Antonio Honda and got along with him because the Gongitsune hand gesture resembles the Wolfpac gesture that Cody’s dad Scott Hall is known for.

1. DDT Extreme Title – 3 Way Match: Jiro Kuroshio (c) Vs HARASHIMA Vs Tetsuya Endo

The grudge between HARASHIMA and Tetsuya Endo has gotten both of them a title match. They wanted the next shot at the DDT Extreme Title but got in each other’s way. Jiro Kuroshio doesn’t want to wait for a single challenger to be determined so he decided to face both of them at the same time.

BOYZ “(BRAND NEW) BOYZ 1 -DDT SPECIAL EDITION-”, 20/10/2019
Tokyo Belle Epoque Beauty School 2nd School Hall

1. Plump BOYZ: Nobuhiro Shimatani Vs Kouki Iwasaki
2. MAO UK Expedition BOYZ Send Off Match: Konosuke Takeshita Vs MAO
3. Yukihero Pro Wrestling Collaboration Match: Shunma Katsumata & Mizuki Watase Vs Kazuki Hirata & Hiroshi Yamato

The BOYZ brand is getting a fresh start under Akito’s management. Wrestlers booked on the first show will also be appearing at the SHIBUYA FASHION AWARD-BE Vint-Age 2019 festival the same day to promote a fashion brand called Yukihero Pro Wrestling. The main event will feature the wrestlers involved wearing costumes from that clothing line.

Akito doesn’t remember ever seeing MAO wrestle Takeshita in a singles match so he decided to book it before MAO’s excursion. Kouki Iwasaki is being booked on BOYZ because Akito wants to see him interact with DDT wrestlers more often. Higuchi and Yuki Iino are also being booked despite their alliance to the YaroZ brand. Akito believes there are women at these shows who find those kind of men attractive too. Akito plans to present them in a way that makes them more suitable for the BOYZ brand. DAMNATION wrestlers are disallowed except for Nobuhiro Shimatani because he works under Akito at the Drop Kick Bar.

Other: Kenny Omega, Riho, Jiro Kuroshio, Chris Brookes, Asuka, Hiroshi Yamato, Yasu Urano, Minoru Fujita, Miss Mongolia

81 wrestlers in total have been booked for the show and each promotion’s main championship will be defended in their own matches.

Kenny Omega returns to wrestle in DDT after a five year absence. A lot has changed since then but for now the people he wanted in his match are his biggest rival (Honda), his first tag partner (Riho, not “him”) and the wrestler who possibly might have caught his attention the most (Miyu Yamashita). Will there be more coming out of this? Wouldn’t be a party without surprises, would it?

Saki has appeared in public for the first time this week, days before she teams up with Su Yung. She wasn’t able to reunite with her relative Saki Akai because Akai is currently on vacation. The pro wrestling press has dug into Saki’s past to learn more about her. They found out she was married at 32 years old to a Japanese soldier who died on the final day of World War II. She fled to the mountains in Kyoto and became secluded from society after her husband’s death. Her time spent there seemed to have prevented her from ageing. She might be a demon but no one can confidently confirm it.

Antonio Honda & Yasu Urano will reveal their mystery partner for 1st September on this show.
