1. Special Video Director’s Cut Match: Aoi Ishibashi defeated Manami Kanda with the Just Facelock (6:03). (Special Referee/Director: Shibata)
2. Special Single Match: GENTARO defeated Yumehito Imanari with a Back Drop (8:39).
3. Special Beer Garden Match: J-Soul Pandita III IV defeated Mr. Judo by Knockout (6:00).
4. Special Tag Team Match: Osamu Namiguchi & Fumihito Kihara defeated Ken Ohka & Tiger Bed Scene when Namiguchi submitted Scene with a Crab Hold (10:59).

Shota had to be pulled from the show after fracturing his right clavicle in a bicycle accident during the week. Fumihito Kihara replaced him in the main event. After the match Osamu Namiguchi admitted to Ken Ohka that he had fun wrestling today. They were then interrupted by former WNC wrestlers Yuji Kito & Yoshihiro Horaguchi. They both came asking for a match. Ohka decided they will face himself and Tiger Bed Scene on 26th August.

The next generation J-Soul Pandita III is even more violent than the last one. It destroyed Mr. Judo and emerged with Judo’s mask much like how Atlantis did when he defeated Robin Mask in Kinnikuman. When he was unmasked Judo turned out to be (surprise, surprise) Atsushi Maruyama. He explained that when he was in elementary school he was inspired to take up Judo by Seiji Sakaguchi. He apologised for disguising himself and promised not to return yadda, yadda, yadda. You know the deal by now.

GENTARO was Yumehito Imanari’s mystery opponent and he beat him with a Back Drop. Imanari was inspired by GENTARO and asked him if he could use the Back Drop too. GENTARO later gave some encouragement to Imanari, telling him he is a pro wrestler no matter what anyone says.

Unsurprisingly, Shibata used his role as referee and cameraman for the joshi match to film upskirt shots of Aoi Ishibashi and Manami Kanda as they wrestled. Ishibashi gave him a Head Kick for his troubles and after the match complained about being sexually harrassed. Ken Ohka decided that Ishibashi will face Shibata on 26th August and this time Kanda will be the referee/director/camerawoman.

Unfortunately Kota Ibushi has not recovered from his concussion and has to pull out of more shows. Even worse, Ibushi will no longer be competing in this year’s G1 Climax. The planned 10th Anniversary Match for Sunday has been postponed and several matches on the card have been changed.

GENTARO is a last minute addition to the card, returning to DDT for the first time since August 2012.

My favourite time of the year on the DDT calender is Beer Garden week. This is where DDT’s roster are at their most creative because they get to make the matches. So far we have ghost stories, a 5 Way Ladder match, some boxing, the return of Ultimate Superstars Action and a Smile Squash Triple Threat to look forward to. Unfortunately there is no more Lariat Pro Wrestling but in it’s place we get Knee Pro Wrestling. So expect the Boma Ye and Busaiku Knee Kick to be used a lot. There are two shows that have yet to have any matches booked for it. They are the first and final days of the series.

Happy Motel are the newest group in DDT. After beating Shuten-dōji a few days ago they already became the No. 1 Contenders for the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles.

With Ibushi still out of action, Gota Ihashi gets to take his place in one of the matches meant to celebrate Ibushi’s 10th Anniversary. It will be a Kickboxing match against Michael Nakazawa. For Nakazawa’s sake it’s a good thing Ibushi won’t be involved in it now. Painful things tend to happen to Nakazawa whenever he fights Ibushi.

A 3 way grudge has built up between Danshoku Dino, Kenny Omega and Antonio Honda over the DDT Extreme Title. After Dino won the belt from Omega, he had his first defence against Honda. Omega demanded to be added to the match and when he was denied, he interfered in the match attacking both men and ultimately stopped Honda from becoming champion. A Triple Threat match is the solution. Hopefully we get a match stipulation that determines once and for all who should be the champion.

The HARASHIMA Vs Yasu Urano build up continues with UraShimaKudo splitting into two teams for a match.

6. Beer Garden Specialty – Lottery 6-Man Tag Team Match: Shigehiro Irie, Toru Owasu & KUDO defeated HARASHIMA, Danshoku Dino & Keisuke Ishii when Irie pinned Ishii with the Verical Drop Back Flip (21:07).

Beer Garden Fight week has ended for another year. Now it’s time for everybody to nurse their hangovers and prepare for DDT’s biggest period of the year. Next up on the schedule: Sumo Hall.

Sanshiro Takagi praised the young DDT wrestlers for their effort this week, referring to the 6-Man Tag Team main event on yesterday’s Drift Produced event going 30 minutes and the hour long Ironman match between Hiroshi Fukuda and Konosuke Takeshita on the second day. He also talked about how DDT, Union, Tokyo Women’s Wrestling and Ganbare☆Wrestling are all one big family.

Tetsuya Endo dislocated his elbow when he took a bad landing from Takeshita’s Facebuster.

Shuji Ishikawa and Seiya Morohashi have been hired by Akihiro Miwa to act as bodyguards for Komyo, an art painting that is also the current Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion. The two Union wrestlers might be added to the 18/8 Iron Man Battle Royal at Sumo Hall in order to protect the champion.

GAMI was added to the All Night Nippon GOLD Battle Royal at the 17/8 Sumo Hall show.

The Monster Army was accused of stealing the hearts of the audience after the opening match. Antonio Honda denied it and accused the other team of stealing the audience’s hearts. Hisaya Imabayashi appeared and told each and every wrestler that they stole the hearts, and he made the wrestlers faint when he pointed at them one by one. Then they played “Wild Thing” over the speakers and everybody in the ring threw water everywhere Atsushi Onita style. Because at this point why not?

1. Shigehiro Irie Produce: Shigehiro Irie defeated Kazuki Hirata & Tetsuya Endo when Irie pinned Endo with the People’s Elbow (11:35).
2. Takao Soma Produce – U-FILE CAMP – A Distorted Relationship Between Teacher And Wrestling Class Graduates: Takao Soma defeated Reo and Kazuhiro Tamura when Soma pinned Reo with the Sorarina (7:41).
3. Keisuke Ishii Produce – Lariat Pro Wrestling: Keisuke Ishii, Tomomitsu Matsunaga & Kengo Mashimo defeated Danshoku Dino, Antonio Honda & Hoshitango when Mashimo pinned Honda with a Lariat (9:53).
4. ~Summer 2013 Culmination~: Shigehiro Irie, Keisuke Ishii & Takao Soma defeated Akito, Kazuki Hirata & FUMA when Soma pinned Hirata with the New Tricks (32:13).

Even though the show was put together by Team Dream Futures, Takao Soma was given the spotlight and was described as the “hero of the day” by his team mates. Soma debuted his new finisher New Tricks, which is described as an Implant move.

Lariat Pro Wrestling lived up to its name. The teams came out to either Stan Hansen or Riki Choshu’s theme song, Lariats were thrown everywhere, wrestlers who did not use the move were booed and the competitors got so into it they threw Lariats at every referee and wrestler watching at ringside.

Shigehiro Irie’s goal for the opening match was to try out different moves made famous by popular wrestlers like the 619 and the People’s Elbow.

The main event was as chaotic as a Jackie Chan movie scene. The match went over so well, Choun-Shiryu wants to do another one if the venue allows it.

The most popular hero from each faction meet in the battlefield to demonstrate China’s greatness to Japan. The same concept is used for the women’s match. Empress Hiroshima has been described as one of the most feared women in New Beijing and likes to cosplay so much she changes her costume for every match. Stone Qiao is a young wrestler who has only recently emerged and she fights to unite nations beyond gender. Choi Lee is a New Beijing veteran along with her two younger sisters.

New Beijing’s celebrity martial artists will also appear. Zuo Daebo is a disciple of the late great Rushi Togo. The theme of famous martial artists continues in the opener which will sounds like a tribute to Jackie Chan.
