The first DDT show of the year is always a crazy one to follow. But this year is more personal for Daisuke Sasaki. He finally gets his match with the love of his life Candice LeRae. The year Sasaki has gone through in 2016 is entirely because of his crush on Candice. Can he finally get over her when the match is done with?

Yuu now does MMA training in the Sakaguchi Dojo in Yokohama. She originally only trained in Judo and grappling but has moved onto MMA. The switch is improving her submission skills. She said she has to develop fast because Shoko Nakajima has been quickly getting stronger since their previous match at the Tokyo Princess Cup final.

Minami Momochi has been doing training of her own at the behest of Hyper Misao. It hasn’t been going well. She’s just too weak!

Anime music composer Hidekazu Tanaka will be a special quest ring announcer for the show.

Two big shows are happening at Korakuen Hall on Christmas Day. First up is BASARA with their first ever event in the building. The vacant Union MAX Title is being brought back to life for Isami Kodaka and Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi to fight over.

DDT “NEVER MIND 2016”, 25/12/2016

7. KO-D Openweight Title: HARASHIMA (c) Vs Shigehiro Irie

DDT then runs their final show of the year. Has Shigehiro Irie’s training in America paid off? He’s been nigh unbeatable ever since he came back. HARASHIMA hasn’t been able to figure him out in their matches together in the build up to this bout.

Meanwhile DAMNATION are in a funk after losing all of their championships. Not only that but Daisuke Sasaki has been pinned by Masahiro Takanashi twice in their last two matches together. Maybe the inclusion of the Big Dog Shuji Ishikawa will be the answer to their problems. Also Mad Paulie has begun acting more violent. Are they starting to lose control of the “cute one” of the group?

2. Ganpuro Special Christmas Present ~Chubby Vs Slim Beauty~: Maya Yukihi & Tequila Saya defeated Bambi & Manami Kanda when Yukihi pinned Kanda with the Wheelwind (11:25).
3. K-reboot: Hi69 & Shinichiro Tominaga defeated Yukinori Abe & Mitomi Masayuki when Tominaga pinned Masayuki with the Repeated JK2 (12:48).
4. Ai Shimizu Ganbare☆Wrestling Trial 3rd Match: Shota defeated Ai Shimizu with the Sharpshooter (10:01).
5. Ganbare☆Wrestling Vs Shin Ganbare☆Wrestling: Kenso Ohka & Osamu Namiguchi defeated Shuichiro Katsumura & Yumehito Imanari when Ohka pinned Imanari with the Spear Of Fire (18:45).
6. Ken Ohka 15th Anniversary Debut Memorial Match: Ken Ohka defeated Atsushi Maruyama with the Spear Of Fire (15:24).

From the Eternal Young Lion to the Crying Charisma of Ganbare☆Wrestling, a lot has happened to Ken Ohka in his 15 years as a pro wrestler. To celebrate his 15th Anniversary in wrestling, Ohka wanted a match against Atsushi Maruyama. Maruyama has been an inspiration to Ohka ever since he saw him wrestle a big match in 2008. Ohka was also a big Osaka Pro fan before he joined DDT. He kicked out of the Tiger Suplex and pinned Maruyama with the Spear Of Fire. Maruyama said he envies Ohka for making so many friends with his clumsy wrestling while he himself has been scattered around the wrestling scene ever since he quit Osaka Pro. Now it is Ohka who inspires Maruyama because Maruyama now wants to create his own wrestling group. If Ganpuro wants to become a major sports brand then Maruyama’s group will become a major entertainment brand. His rival will be the Yoshimoto Kogyo company!

Ohka had one more announcement to give at the end of the show. His first child was born today! The fans chanted “Dad!” at Ohka as the show ended.

The team of Kenso Ohka & Osamu Namiguchi tried to steal all of the attention with their Shin Ganbare☆Wrestling match. They wouldn’t stop talking about how the Shin Ganpuro fans are the best in the world and the Shin Ganpuro wrestlers are the best in the world too.

Even though he was able to wrestle and win his match today, Shota had some bad news to give. He will be going under surgery to his right knee in January and he is expected to miss nearly all of 2017. Ai Shimizu said wrestling Shota taught her the importance of not giving up. Her next match in her series will be against Hiroyo Matsumoto on 21st January.

Shinichiro Tominaga announced he will be teaming with Shiori Asahi as part of the BO-SO Golden Tag League in K-DOJO next year. Ohka said Tominaga will continue to tag with Hi69 in Ganpuro, booking those two against Asahi & Makoto Oishi on 21st January.

Yumehito Imanari used company money to buy female Santa costumes from Don Quijote for the women to wear during their match. Only Bambi wore her costume. Imanari then tried to help out Bambi & Manami Kanda whenever he could. That backfired when Bambi used her whip and hit Imanari by mistake. That allowed Maya Yukihi to pin Kanda without any interruption.

Rocky Kawamura screamed “Adrian!” before knocking out Chikara with a Running Punch.

Ganpuro will once again be providing matches for the RIZIN Martial Arts EXPO on New Year’s weekend at Saitama Super Arena.

One more skirmish before the big BASARA show. This time Isami Kodaka is bringing in the big guns. However Kengo Mashimo doesn’t always get along with him. So the main event may look one sided on paper but when the match takes place one wrong move can thrash Kodaka’s plans to pieces.

DDT “NEW YEAR LOTTERY SPECIAL! ALL SEATS 2,000 YEN BOX OFFICE!! 2017”, 03/01/2017
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. KO-D Openweight Title: HARASHIMA (c) Vs Mike Bailey

Mike Bailey has built a lot of momentum in the last few months, winning the week long DNA Grand Prix tournament and now holding the KO-D Tag Team Titles with Konosuke Takeshita. His success has been rewarded even more with a KO-D Openweight Title shot at DDT’s first Korakuen Hall show in 2017.

Joey Ryan, Laura James and Candice LeRae will be on this show.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “TOKYO JOSHI PRO ’17”, 04/01/2017
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Rika Tatsumi & Hyper Misao (w/ Minami Momochi) Vs Akane Miura & Maho Kurone
2. Reika Saiki Vs Itoh Maki
3. Nodoka-oneesan Vs Cherry
4. Konsho-gun Vs Married Woman Army: Azusa Takigawa & Nonoko Vs Ai Shimizu & Laura James
5. Mil Clown Vs Candice LeRae
6. Miyu Yamashita Vs Saki Akai
7. TOKYO Princess Of Princess Title: Yuu (c) Vs Shoko Nakajima

One of the big rivalries in Tokyo Joshi Pro’s history will come back for a special match. Miyu Yamashita has never been able to beat Saki Akai one on one. Akai has shown no interest in having any future plans with Tokyo Joshi so this may be Yamashita’s last chance for now to get that win.

Hyper Misao has enlisted Rika Tatsumi and Minami Momochi to help her latest attempt to protect Tokyo Joshi from evil. It wasn’t long ago when Akane Miura was practising snake magic although she has shown no evil behaviour since returning to normal. Maho Kurone however is pretty much a zombie now. She’s always been acting weird since her debut match but yeah, carrying a severed arm to the ring while her mouth is covered in blood isn’t exactly being subtle. Momochi will be finishing up her role as Tokyo Joshi’s ring announcer at this show so what a way to go, getting involved in this creepy situation.

DDT “ROAD TO SUPER ARENA IN OYODO ~DRAMATIC DREAM TENROKU~”, 09/01/2017
Osaka Oyodo Community Center

1. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Konosuke Takeshita & Mike Bailey (c) Vs Masakatsu Funaki & Yukio Sakaguchi

The pairing of Masakatsu Funaki & Yukio Sakaguchi at “OSAKA OCTOPUS 2016” worked so well that they will get a KO-D Tag Title shot next month.

Ken Ohka chose Atsushi Maruyama as his opponent for his 15th Anniversary match. Ohka had been wanting to wrestle Maruyama ever since he saw him wrestle a Mask Contra Mask match as Tigers Mask in 2008. Also they both had their debut matches within months from each other, Maruyama debuted in June 2001 and Ohka debuted in December. Ohka cannot imagine what kind of match they will have.

The beautiful opponents for Bambi & Manami Kanda come from Ice Ribbon. Yumehito Imanari isn’t impressed even though the match was his idea. He likes his women to be bigger than Maya Yukihi & Tequila Saya so he’s rooting for Bambi & Kanda.

kenso-ohka-appears

GANBARE☆WRESTLING “BEYOND THE NIGHT SKY 2016”, 12/11/2016
Tokyo BASEMENT MON☆STAR
142 Fans – No Vacancy

1. Real Tiger Mask Vs Rikidozan III: Shuichiro Katsumura defeated Chikara with the Jumping Cross Armbreaker (7:25).
2. Ganpuro Special Mixed Tag: American Balloon & Sayaka Obihiro defeated Kenta Hattori & Ai Shimizu when Obihiro pinned Shimizu with the Bath (10:09).
3. G-COSMOS 2016 in Prince: Takafumi Ito defeated Rionne Fujiwara with a Crooked Headscissors (10:30).
4. Double Main Event I: Shota & Mitomi Masayuki defeated Yukihiro Abe & Shinichiro Tominaga when Shota pinned Tominaga with a Kido Clutch (16:07).
5. Double Main Event II – Shin Ganbare☆Wrestling Raising An Army: Osamu Namiguchi & Kenso Ohka defeated Ken Ohka & Yumehito Imanari when Ohka pinned Imanari with a Spear (12:24).

The show began with Osamu Namiguchi welcoming everyone to Shin Ganbare☆Wrestling. He said the theme of Shin Ganpuro is major pro wrestling and the main event would prove that. All of the regular Ganbare☆Wrestling matches happening before the main event were just toilet breaks as far as he was concerned. Ken Ohka stormed out and said he will show Namiguchi what the real Ganpuro is like in the main event.

Namiguchi had a big surprise in store for Ohka. The second member of Shin Ganpuro was revealed to be KENSO! However, KENSO came out to Ohka’s entrance music and wore matching gear. He is now Kenso Ohka! Not only did KENSO steal Ohka’s gimmick but he stole his finisher as well when he pinned Yumehito Imanari with the Spear. KENSO calls it a major Spear that is completely different from the fake one Ken Ohka does. Shuichiro Katsumura unexpectedly came out to confront Shin Ganpuro. He doesn’t see himself as a Ganpuro wrestler but he likes it here and won’t stand for this copycat coming in to ruin things. He invited Ken Ohka & Imanari to come train with him in his gym. Ohka said that Ganpuro stands for Ken Ohka, Ganpuro stands for Yumehito Imanari and Ganpuro stands for Shuichiro Katsumura. Together they will fight against Shin Ganpuro!

Kenta Hattori & Ai Shimizu both felt sorry for American Balloon’s sagging man boobs. Balloon’s man boobs came in handy when he used them to stop Shimizu from giving Sayaka Obihiro the Kamikaze. Obihiro then rolled Shimizu over for the win. Ohka was critical of Shimizu losing the match and encouraged her to try harder for her next match. Ohka said by the time Shimizu’s Ganpuro trial series is done she will become a worthy pro wrestler. Her next match in this series will be against Shota.

Ganpuro will run a special 15th Anniversary show for Ken Ohka at Shin-Kiba 1st RING on 22nd December. Ohka has a certain opponent in mind that he is eager to wrestle against but cannot guarantee if he can even negotiate with him. Imanari wants to put together a special women’s match for the show. His original idea was Bambi & Manami Kanda Vs Viper and somebody else. However it seems that Viper is unavailable on that date. Ohka promised Imanari that he will find two beautiful wrestlers to take on Bambi & Kanda.
