DDT “DRAMATIC 2012 JUNE SPECIAL”, 03/06/2012
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Shigehiro Irie Vs Tetsuya Endo
2. Akito Vs Gota Ihashi
3. Sanshiro Takagi, Takao Soma & Hero Amon Vs Michael Nakazawa, Batten Tamagawa & Ken Ohka
4. KUDO & Makoto Oishi Vs Antonio Honda & Keita Yano
5. Danshoku Dino, Hiroshi Fukuda & Hikari Minami Vs Hoshitango, DJ Nira & Ayumi Kurihara
6. Kota Ibushi, Kenny Omega & Keisuke Ishii Vs HARASHIMA, Hikaru Sato & Masa Takanashi

Ayumi Kurihara makes her first appearance in DDT since she unintentionally won the Ironman Heavymetalweight Title from Kana at a WAVE show in April.

Ken Ohka also returns to the ring for his first match since his failed DDT Extreme Title shot against Yuko Miyamoto.

Plus this will be the first time the Golden Lovers will team together in 2012.

DDT “PEGASUS METEOR FIST”, 10/06/2012
Nagoya Telepia Hall

1. HARASHIMA & Tomomitsu Matsunaga Vs Masa Takanashi & Keisuke Ishii
2. Sanshiro Takagi, Takao Soma & Mr. #6 Vs Hikaru Sato, DJ Nira & Gota Ihashi

5. Nagoya Big 3 Single Match: Kenny Omega Vs Akito
6. Yuji Hino, Yasu Urano & Antonio Honda Vs Kota Ibushi, KUDO & Makoto Oishi

Is Mr. #6 the newest member of the nWJ? Will this make the group even more dangerous than before? Will DJ Nira Rocket Punch somebody? Chances are the answers to all of these questions is yes.

DDT “ANGRY PE GOOD PE IN IBARAKI”, 16/06/2012
Ushiku Athletic Park Gymnasium

1. Sanshiro Takagi Vs Mitsuhiro Yoshida

Kota Ibushi will not be at the Ushiku show. Instead he will be wrestling for New Japan’s “DOMINION” PPV in Osaka. His match for that show will be announced by New Japan soon.

Freelancer Mitsuhiro Yoshida comes back for his first match in DDT since December.

DDT “WHAT ARE YOU DOING 2012”, 24/06/2012
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Special Single Match: HARASHIMA Vs Shigehiro Irie
2. KUDO, Makoto Oishi & Hiroshi Fukuda Vs Masa Takanashi, Daisuke Sasaki & Hoshitango
3. KO-D Openweight Title: Yuji Hino (c) Vs Kota Ibushi

You can argue about whether or not it is too early for Ibushi to get a title shot but if anyone has a chance to dethrone Yuji Hino, it’s him. That’s easier said than done though. Hino already pinned Ibushi during their KO-D Tag Team Title match earlier this month. With Budokan Hall on the horizon, this could go either way.

Ayumi Kurihara Wins Iron Man Title!

May 1, 2012

The Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title changed hands over in Pro Wrestling WAVE yesterday when Kana lost the title to Ayumi Kurihara. The match was only advertised as a Catch The WAVE league contest but as champion, Kana was officially defending the Iron Man Title and DDT acknowledges the title change. Ayumi won the match with her Modified Uranage Suplex and is now the 905th champion. However, the title belt itself is currently located in DDT’s headquarters. The belt will be handed over to Ayumi (or whoever the champion will be at that point) on 6th May.

6f. Kana defeated Michael Nakazawa (c) after the Buenos Aires from Hoshitango (9:46).
*Kana becomes the 904th champion.
7. Masa Takanashi, Kenny Omega & Daisuke Sasaki defeated HARASHIMA, KUDO & Yasu Urano when Takanashi pinned Urano with the Takatonic (16:20).

DDT are planning ahead with their KO-D Title matches in the next couple of months. A 3 Way No. 1 Contender’s Match will take place between HARASHIMA, KUDO and Yasu Urano on 4th May. The winner will face the KO-D Openweight Champion in Sapporo on 27/5. Also, this year’s King Of DDT tournament will take place on 30th June and 7th July.

Despite losing the match for his side, Yasu Urano told Masa Takanashi that he will not hold the KO-D Title for long. Yano said his Crying Wolf stablemate Yuji Hino is the strongest fighter in DDT history and that it would be he taking on Hino for the KO-D Title in Sapporo. HARASHIMA gave Takanashi encouragement and wished him luck. KUDO said he guarantees 100% that he will win the 3 Way, win back the KO-D Title and main event Budokan Hall.

The Anti-Establishment of Sanshiro Takagi & Takao Soma has come to an end, only for a new threat to emerge. Takagi & Soma held an impromptu KO-D Tag Team Title match against Homoiro Clover Z duo Akito & Hiroshi Fukuda. The match barely lasted a minute and the champs retained in the quickest title match in the championship’s history. A rematch was set afterwards but without the title on the line. Instead the losing team must have their unit split up. What followed was a big upset when Hiroshi Fukuda pinned Sanshiro Takagi and put an end to their CM Punk inspired ways. However, Takagi had a sneaky trick up his sleeve. He immediately formed a new unit with Takao Soma and one with an even more poisonous inspiration. Takagi’s new unit is called New World Japan, the nWJ!

The Iron Man Heavymetalweight Championship reached a milestone today, gaining its 900th champion and 900th title change. Kana, now representing the Wrestling New Classic promotion, became the 900th champion aswell as the 902nd and 904th champion before finally escaping from the men. Looks like Michael Nakazawa is continuing his advances on the World Famous female wrestler. Nakazawa and Kana will next be inside a DDT ring together on 22/4.

Makoto Oishi will cash in his Ken Ohka Anytime, Anywhere contract in Yokohama on 22/4.

Tomomitsu Matsunaga was approached by Batten Tamagawa to talk about the Right To Challenge Tag Anytime, Anywhere contract. Batten asked if he could be Matsunaga’s tag team partner so they could cash in the contract together and win the KO-D Tag Team Title. Matsunaga refused and said it is because he really wants to win the title for the first time in five years. He thinks Batten is not good enough to tag with him and proved it by beating him in a match.

– Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title: Kana (c) defeated Michael Nakazawa with a Guillotine Choke (13:21 pm).
*V1 for Kana.
6. KO-D Tag Team Title: Sanshiro Takagi & Takao Soma defeated Yasu Urano & Yuji Hino (c) when Soma pinned Urano with the Diving Guillotine Drop (15:18).
*Crying Wolf fails in V3. Sanshiro Takagi & Takao Soma become the 42nd KO-D Tag Team Champions!
7. KO-D Openweight Title: Danshoku Dino (c) defeated Hikaru Sato with the Gotch-Style Danshoku Driver (20:10).
*V2 for Danshoku Dino.

After dispatching Hikaru Sato in the main event, Danshoku Dino nominated Sanshiro Takagi & Masa Takanashi as the top two challengers for his KO-D Openweight Title. Takanashi and Takagi will face each other in a No. 1 Contender’s match on 18th March. The winner will face Dino for the title when DDT returns to Korakuen Hall for their double header with Union on 1st April.

The Anti-Establishment Unit are now the KO-D Tag Team Champions! In his third shot at the belts, Takao Soma finally made it all the way and won his first championship in his career. He and Sanshiro Takagi are now planning to defend the title as many different promotions as possible. Tsurumi Amon is not happy at the recent turn of events and refuses to allow Takagi & Soma to defend the KO-D Tag Team Title outside of DDT. Takagi ignored him and listed a number of different promotions to defend the belt in. Places like New Japan, Dragon Gate, Big Japan, Diamond Ring and Okinawa Pro Wrestling were all suggested only for Tsurumi to shoot down each idea. Tsurumi then accidentaly mentioned that a GUTS World show was going to take place in Kitasenju later. That gave Takagi and Soma the idea to crash that show and lay out a challenge to the GUTS roster.

After match #5, Shigehiro Irie predicted that Kenny Omega would defeat Shuji Kondo in All Japan on 20th March. Then on 1st April, Irie will have dropped enough weight to challenge and defeat Kenny Omega to win the AJPW Jr. Heavyweight Title. Irie then said he will nominate Shuji Kondo as his first challenger. Shuji Kondo praised Irie in a backstage interview after the match, calling his performance “tremendous”. Meanwhile Keisuke Ishii was upset with losing the match to Kondo and Kaz Hayashi. He felt he was not ready to have fought Hayashi so soon. However, he does want to face Kaz Hayashi again, this time in a singles match.

Kana got a nice little White Day gift in the form of the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title. The belt began changing hands before the Battle Royal even took place. The champion at the beginning of the show was Antonio Honda. While he was explaining the rules of the match to the competitors, Poison JULIE Sawada ambushed him and won the title. When the match finally took place, Sawada was pinned by Michael Nakazawa. Nakazawa then made the mistake of provoking Kana by asking if she wanted the silver belt or his “golden axe”. Kana knocked him out and became champion. Honda was next to win the belt with under a minute remaining but Kana immediately trapped him in a Cross Armbreaker to win back the belt and complete the Battle Royal as champion. She later became one of the few champions to successfully defend the belt when an ambush by Nakazawa backstage failed and left him choked out by the champion.

Two brand new DDT wrestlers will both be making their debut in the next couple of weeks. The first to debut is Takashi Dai. He will have his first match in Hakata Star Lanes on 20th March. The second is Tetsuya Endo, who will debut in Korakuen Hall on 1st April.

DDT announced that El Generico will compete at the 15th Anniversary show in Budokan Hall!

Kota Ibushi will be the stand-in General Manager for the “NON-FIX 3.18 SPECIAL” at Shin-Kiba 1st RING next week.

Two prizes were announced for the Battle Royal that will take place on 1st April. The Anytime & Anywhere Contract will be hung above the ring and will go to whoever can take it down. The winner of the Battle Royal itself will get the KO-D Title shot on the 4th May Korakuen show.

A one minute’s silence dedicated to the victims of last year’s earthquake and tsunami took place at the end of the show.

DDT “DOTONBORI STORY 11” Results

DDT “DOTONBORI STORY 11”, 04/03/2012
Osaka Minami Move On Arena
308 Fans – Super No Vacancy

1. Keisuke Ishii, Shigehiro Irie & Shoichi Uchida defeated Masa Takanashi, Daisuke Sasaki & Kiai Ryuuken Ecchan when Irie pinned Ecchan with the Vertical Drop Back Flip (12:45).
2. Nakazawa Local Indie Education Match: Hideki Shiota defeated Michael Nakazawa with a Fujiwara Armber (0:18).
2a. Hideki Shiota defeated Michael Nakazawa with a Diving Headbutt (4:41).
– Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title: MIYAWAKI defeated Tigers Mask (c) with the Death Penalty.
*MIYAWAKI becomes the 892nd champion.
3. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title: MIYAWAKI (c) Vs Antonio Honda ended in a Time Limit Draw (10:00).
3a. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title: Antonio Honda defeated MIYAWAKI (c) with a Stunner.
*Antonio Honda becomes the 893rd champion.
4. Yasu Urano, Yuji Hino & Keita Yano defeated Makoto Oishi, Akito & Hiroshi Fukuda when Hino pinned Fukuda with the Fuckin’ Bomb (12:38).
5. Sanshiro Takagi & Takao Soma defeated Tigers Mask & DJ Nira when Takagi pinned Mask after the Boma Ye from Yukinori Matsui (10:04).
6. Hikaru Sato & HARASHIMA defeated Danshoku Dino & KUDO when Sato submitted Dino with the Heel Hold (19:41).

Hikaru Sato scored a big victory over Danshoku Dino in the build up to their KO-D Openweight Title match next week. Sato’s vast experience in submissions were too much for Dino to handle in the Tag Team main event which also included HARASHIMA and KUDO. Dino had no choice but to tap out to Sato’s Heel Hold, possibly giving the challenger a clear target to focus on when the title match takes place. Meanwhile HARASHIMA is already staking claim to challenge Sato to a KO-D Title match in Osaka if Sato becomes the next champion. Should the road lead to this match becoming a reality, it will be a rematch of Sato’s dramatic KO-D Title win over HARASHIMA that took place in Osaka back in 2010.

I was not a good day for Osaka’s own Tigers Mask. First he lost the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Championship to MIYAWAKI before he even got a chance to defend it against Antonio Honda. Then he lost his tag team match later in the show when referee Yukinori Matsui had enough of his antics and knocked him out with a Boma Ye knee strike.

An update on the current whereabouts of the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Championship over in Osaka Pro. Miyuji Matsuyama lost the belt to Ebessan on 1st March in a 3 Way match that also involved Miracleman. Ebessan then lost the title to Kanjyuro Matsuyama. I’ll let the Osaka Holiday Paradise site explain what happened:

“After the show, Ebessan suffered what apparently was a stroke near the goods shop. Kanjyuro went over to deliver a heart massage to his fellow Unique Gundan member and managed to become the 888th Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion.”

Earlier today, Tigers Mask pinned Kanyuro in the main event 3 Way match also involving Atsushi Kotoge to become the 889th and latest Iron Man champion. If he is still champion on the 4th March, he will defend the belt against Antonio Honda when DDT shows up in Osaka for “DOTONBORI STORY 11”.

Dino Vs Sato, New Beijing Tour Roster

February 21, 2012

DDT “NON-FIX 2.24”, 24/02/2012
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Keita Yano Vs Rion Mizuki
2. Keisuke Ishii Vs Tomomitsu Matsunaga
3. HARASHIMA Vs Masa Takanashi
4. Sanshiro Takagi & Takao Soma Vs Hoshitango & DJ Nira
5. Yasu Urano, Yuji Hino & Antonio Honda Vs KUDO, Makoto Oishi & Hiroshi Fukuda
6. Danshoku Dino & Akito Vs Hikaru Sato & Michael Nakazawa

Hikaru Sato is next in line for a shot at Danshoku Dino and his KO-D Openweight Championship. Their first skirmish will be in Shin-Kiba 1st Ring when DDT holds their latest NON-FIX event. While Sato & Michael Nakazawa haven’t been so successful with their re-established tag team, the upcoming title shot and push up the card should be more than enough motivation to improve their talent and teamwork.

NEW BEIJING “NEW YEAR JAPAN TOUR 2012”, 26/02/2012
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Heaven Six Wheel Challenge:

The roster for the New Beijing show in Japan has been announced on DDT’s website. Regular DDT and Union guests Choun-Shiryu and Cao Zhang are among the competitors. The fighters involved who have previously participated in New Beijing’s tours of Japan or DDT itself include Tairo, Yasuura No, Earl Dino, Son Goku and Giant Boshoku. Joining them are three new additions to the roster who will all be stepping foot in Japan for the first time. The three newcomers are Hiroshi Fukuoka, “Raw Miharu” Murata Kanazawa and Xiang Mon Ying. Fukuoka is known as the class clown of the group. Kanazawa is a renowned intellectual who studies ancient Rome and is fluent in Italian. Ying is the only female of the group. She boasts about her good looks and was a finalist in the Miss Xian Princess 2011 contest. She is also a shaolin master with a successful pro wrestling career in China. So don’t underestimate her.

2. Nakazawa Local Indie Education Match: Michael Nakazawa Vs Hideki Shiota
3. Sanshiro Takagi & Takao Soma Vs Tigers Mask & DJ Nira
4. Danshoku Dino & KUDO Vs Hikaru Sato & HARASHIMA

DDT is finally making an attempt to repossess the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title by having the champion defending the belt when DDT returns to Osaka. Miyuki Matsuyama is the current champion but she rarely appears in public. When she does, it is to take part in Osaka Pro Wrestling shows. Until DDT comes to town they will be hoping that the Osaka Pro roster will lure out the ghostly champion and grab the belt off of her somehow.

DDT “JUDGEMENT 2012”, 11/03/2012
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title – Battle Royal: Champion Vs Tomomitsu Matsunaga Vs Michael Nakazawa Vs Poison JULIE Sawada Vs Gorgeous Matsuno Vs Tigers Mask Vs Kana
2. A Major Explosion!? Rocket Punch: Masao Inoue Vs DJ Nira
3. KO-D Tag Team Title: Yasu Urano & Yuji Hino (c) Vs Sanshiro Takagi & Takao Soma
4. KO-D Openweight Title: Danshoku Dino (c) Vs Hikaru Sato

Sanshiro Takagi’s Anti-Establishment unit is gaining momentum and also proving to be very beneficial for Takao Soma. The former Shit Heart ♥ Foundation leader has earned several wins lateley ever since he adopted the Boma Ye knee strike as his finisher. Takagi & Soma now have a KO-D Tag Team Title shot but that means taking on the Crying Wolf faction and their dominant team of Yasu Urano & Yuji Hino.

Iron Man Title In Osaka Update

January 12, 2012

The Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title has changed hands a couple of more times over in Osaka Pro since last week. Apple Miyuki lost the belt to Kushinbo Kamen on 7th January despite just beating him in a singles match. Kamen used the 24/7 rule to his advantage and immediately cradled her for the pin. The next day Black Buffalo submitted Kamen to become champion during a 3 Way Match with Billyken Kid also involved. He then scored a rare title defence against Ebessan the day afterwards. However, his title reign ended today when Apple Miyuki’s ghastly alter ego Miyuki Matsuyama won the title. Miyuki is currently the 886th champion. DDT returns to Osaka in two days but so far there is no word in anyone making the trip over to the Minami Move On Arena to bring the title back to its home promotion.
