6. Special Tag Match: El Generico & HARASHIMA defeated Kenny Omega & KUDO when Generico pinned KUDO with the Brainbustaaaaahhhhh!!!!! (21:19).
7. KO-D Openweight Title: Danshoku Dino (c) defeated Antonio Honda with the Gotch-Style Danshoku Driver (31:19).
*V1 for Danshoku Dino.

Right after Danshoku Dino defeated Antonio Honda in the main event, the champion called Hikaru Sato into the ring and asked if he wants to get the next KO-D Title shot. Dino told Sato “I want to do it with you”. Sato said he is not gay but he loves Danshoku Dino. They were then interrupted by the ghost of Muscle Sakai! The ghost announced that Muscle Sakai will return to wrestling for the DDT 15th Anniversary show in Budokan Hall! However, his return will be in the dark match for the event.

Kenny Omega was upset over losing in the semi-main event. He told the audience that DDT is his family and he wants to defend his AJPW Jr. Heavyweight Title in the company again. However, his next defence has already been set in All Japan. He will take on Shuji Kondo on 20th March. Shigehiro Irie then entered the ring and asked Kenny if he could challenge him for the belt on 11th March when DDT returns to Korakuen Hall. When asked how much he weighs, Irie said “I am 115kg.” Kenny asked him again. Irie then said “I am 110kg”. Tsurumi Amon stepped in to make his decision. If Irie drops 10kg in weight then Amon will try to negotiate with All Japan to set up a Jr. Heavy Title match in DDT for April 1st. That is of course if Kenny will still be the champion at the time.

Sanshiro Takagi & Takao Soma came out to challenge Crying Wolf for the KO-D Tag Team Titles after the Champions earned their third successful defence. The title match is booked for 11/3 in Korakuen Hall.

This year’s Anytime & Anywhere Contract Battle Royal will take place in Korakuen Hall on the 1st April.

A 10 minute Ironman Battle Royal will take place on 3rd March for the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Championship. The competitors are Tomomitsu Matsunaga, Michael Nakazawa, Poison JULIE Sawada, Gorgeous Matsuno, Tigers Mask and Kana. Notable in her absence is the current champion, Miyuki Matsuyama. She is still the champion as I type this.

DJ Nira will have his very own Best Of DVD released on 11th March. Only 1000 copies will be produced and they will be available at DDT shows and their online store.

Antonio Honda’s defeat in the main event means that he is now banished from Nagoya. Danshoku Dino meanwhile won a free overnight stay in the city. Things are not looking good for the challenger. Dino has technically defeated Honda in both of their non-title matches and has all of the momentum going into their 19/2 KO-D Title match in Korakuen Hall.

The injury bug is spreading across the DDT locker room. Tomomitsu Matsunaga had to miss this show after suffering from acute enteritis. DEP wrestler Michio Kageyama took his place in the opening match.

5. Kenny Omega & Masa Takanashi Vs HARASHIMA & Hayato “Jr” Fujita
6. Danshoku Dino Vs Antonio Honda

Danshoku Dino is already preparing for new challenges justs days after becoming the new KO-D Openweight Champion. He already had his first defence lined up for 19/2 in Korakuen Hall as his close friend and rival Antonio Honda called for the first title shot. In a rare booking decision, DDT has set up two non-title matches between Dino and Honda in Shin-Kiba and Nagoya before their Korakuen match takes place. Both matches will have stipulations that will be decided by DDT General Manager Tsurumi Amon at the shows. The matches will feel very special to Dino, Honda and Amon due to their time spent together in the now defunct MUSCLE sub-brand.

Meanwhile, “NON-FIX 2.4” will see Hayato “Jr” Fujita of Michinoku Pro fame make his first ever appearance for DDT. His partner on the night is HARASHIMA, who is looking for a shot at Kenny Omega and his AJPW Jr. Heavyweight Title. However, it could be Fujita who could wriggle his way into title contention if everything goes his way during the match.

For those who have followed DDT for years, you would know that Sanshiro Takagi is a huge WWE fan. He loves to emulate his favourite Superstars and many of his ideas over the years have been inspired by what goes on in the WWE ring every Monday and Friday night. So, can you guess the inspiration for his latest scheme? Judging by the photo above, of course you can.

So far this year, Takagi has commented on DDT recently becoming stagnant and a little bit boring. He blames Tsurumi Amon for letting this happen while being in charge of looking over the shows. So his solution to this problem is to form a dissident group to cause some chaos and annoy Amon into doing a better job. Takagi already brought Takao Soma into the group and recently revealed that Shiro Koshinaka & Masashi Aoyagi would be coming over to help him out. Tsurumi’s response is to find his own disciplined group of wrestlers to stop Takagi. This will lead to an 8-Man Tag Team mach at Korakuen Hall to see who will win the battle between chaos and good behaviour.

TAKA Michinoku & Taichi defeated Danshoku Dino & Maximo when Taichi pinned Taichi with a Horizontal Cradle (8:04).

One year after teaming together, Danshoku Dino returned to New Japan to team up with the pink mohawked Luchador Maximo once again for the New Japan & CMLL co-production of “FANTASTICA MANIA”. Before their match with TAKA Michinoku & Taichi even began, Dino tried to kiss Milano Collection AT at the commentator’s table. Milano avoided Dino by dragging another commentator in his place for the kiss. Even though Dino and Maximo got along fabulously and recieved chants of “Maxi-Dino” from the fans, their efforts could not defeat TAKA & Taichi. Dino & Maximo let bygones be bygones and both kissed the referee at the same time after the match. Dino then chased Taichi into the locker room.

*V5 for KUDO.

An audience of over 2,000 fans packed Korakuen Hall on New Year’s Eve to witness a marathon of pro wrestling that will lead into 2012. DDT was up first to end their eventful year with a big bang. KUDO tied the record for most defences of the KO-D Openweight Championship by defeating his rival MIKAMI in the main event. Ladders were legal for the match but even with the advantage of using his favourite weapon, MIKAMI couldn’t get the job done. KUDO continues his role of leading the company towards Budokan Hall for DDT’s 15th Anniversary show. However, his next challenger was also revealed. Danshoku Dino wants a shot at the belt and will get it when DDT holds its first 2012 Korakuen show on 29th January.

The bizarre Idol War between Homoiro Clover Z and the 48 Group reached its conclusion with Danshoku Dino leading his multi-colored troops to victory over Sanshiro Takagi and his “Bukkake Alliance” of splinter groups from around the world. Makoto Oishi was the sole survivor of the 10-Man Elimination Tag, pinning Takagi with the Tornado Clutch. He was given big hugs by his teammates for a job well done.

The Crying Wolf stable is quickly gaining ground in DDT with Yasu Urano & Yuji Hino winning the KO-D Tag Team Championship over Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie. Yuji Hino has now declared a full scale invasion on DDT. After the match, Masa Takanashi & Daisuke Sasaki came out to challenge the new champions for a title shot. Tsurumi Amon tried to prevent the match from happening because he thought the challenging team haven’t proven themselves but Urano & Hino accepted it. The two teams will meet at the 22/01 Chiba show.

This was the second championship Shigehiro Irie lost this week. He dropped the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title to Kanjuro Matsuyama at an Osaka Pro two days ago. Tigers Mask is now the current champion.

Japanese musician Sunplaza Nakano was in attendance to announce he was recording the official anthem for DDT’s Budokan Hall show. He also performed the song “Runner” for the Runner Contra Runner match. I had a listen to both his version and the original song by BAKUFU-SLUMP. It’s a pretty good song. If you like the Eurobeat soundtrack in Initial D then you will like Sunplaza’s version.

It was announced that Hard Hit will return on 22nd March for a show at Shinjuku FACE, so the brand has not been retired. It is likely that Hikaru Sato will face Michael Nakazawa on the show as per the stipulation for their defeat to Antonio Honda & Keita Yano.

6. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie (c) Vs Yasu Urano & Yuji Hino
7. KO-D Openweight Title: KUDO (c) Vs MIKAMI

Yesterday DDT held a press conference in Shinjuku to get the thoughts of several wrestlers who will compete at “NEVER MIND 2011” on New Year’s Eve. An important note about the main event was announced. The KO-D Openweight Title match between KUDO and MIKAMI will allow the usage of ladders without any risk of disqualification. KUDO is aiming to tie the record for most defences of the KO-D Title, currently held by Sanshiro Takagi with five wins. MIKAMI has gone through intensive training for this match and wants to be the man representing DDT as champion for its 15th Anniversary. With the allowance of ladders for the match now in effect, this gives MIKAMI a great advantage to win the championship.

When KUDO and MIKAMI were done, Hikaru Sato and Michael Nakazawa were next up. The two will team up to face the Crying Wolf pair of Antonio Honda & Keita Yano in the show opener. Nakazawa has begun pestering Sato to become his regular tag team partner again. He promises that if they beat Honda & Yano, they will transform into a brand new tag team and not become the Hentai team they used to be. Sato tried to ignore him and brought up the year he’s had. Sato won the DDT48 General Election, wrestled semi-actively for All Japan and bought a new suit worth 300,000 yen. He told Nakazawa that he will accept the stipulation but added that if they lose to Crying Wolf, Nakazawa will have to fight Sato in a Pancrase rules match.

The press conference finished up with Sanshiro Takagi, Danshoku Dino and Makoto Oishi making an appearance to talk about the 48 Group Vs Homoiro Clover Z 10-Man Tag Team match. Dino said he was looking forward to the “orgy” while Takagi talked about bringing in the KGB48, PJS48 and SUMO48 to join his TKG Rogue Army. The two began to argue until Tsurumi Amon interrupted them. Amon then announced that the 10-Man Tag will now be an Elimination Tag Team match.

MIKAMI continues his momentum with another tag team main event victory over KUDO. There is just one more skirmish left to take place between the two before they fight for the KO-D Openweight Title on New Year’s Eve. It will happen in Tsukaba, Ibaraki when KUDO & HARASHIMA face MIKAMI & Hikaru Sato on 23rd December.

Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie claim their third defence of the KO-D Tag Team Championships, finally bringing some stability over the titles that have been passed around like a hot potato the last six months. But on New Year’s Eve the champions will face their toughest challenge yet. The Crying Wolf pair of Yasu Urano & Yuji Hino will be their next opponents in Korakuen Hall.

The opening match had both Tomomitsu Matsunaga and Kazuki Hirata come out to the ring with a song called “Runner” as their entrance music, hence the Runner Vs Runner title. It then got confusing when Azul Dragon & DJ Nira came out to the same song for their match with Daisuke Sasaki & Rion Mizuki afterwards.

It is now confirmed that Antonio Honda & Yasu Urano’s new group will be called Crying Wolf. Honda & Urano have joined forces with former BattlARTS fighter, now demented Joker lookalike, Keita Yano as well as KAIENTAI-DOJO strongman, Yuji Hino. Urano and Hino will be the next team in line for a KO-D Tag Team Title shot, facing the champions on New Year’s Eve at Korakuen Hall.

DDT President Sanshiro Takagi explained why the promotion’s 15th Anniversary show at Nippon Budokan will take place on 18th August next year. He said that Saturday, the day the 18th August will be next year, during the middle of summer is one of the best days to hold a celebration. He feels DDT has been very lucky to have this opportunity and has felt the pressure to deliver a very special event to mark the occassion. He is also trying to decide what kind of match he should have against Minoru Suzuki if they do face each other. A Falls Count Anywhere match that winds up taking place outside the Imperial Palace is one idea Takagi came up with.
