DDT “D-OU GRAND PRIX 2020 IN HARAJUKU 2 DAYS”, 14/12/2019
Tokyo Belle Epoque Beauty School 2nd School Hall

1. Yukio Sakaguchi & Makoto Oishi Vs Shunma Katsumata & Keigo Nakamura
2. 3 Way Tag Match: Toru Owashi & Yuki Ueno Vs Akito & Yukio Naya Vs Masahiro Takanashi & Antonio Honda
3. DISASTER BOX Vs DAMNATION!: HARASHIMA, Kazuki Hirata & Naomi Yoshimura Vs Daisuke Sasaki, Soma Takao & Mad Paulie
4. Special Single Match: Danshoku Dieno Vs Bull James
5. D-Ou Grand Prix 2020 – A Block: Yuki Iino (6) Vs Chihiro Hashimoto (4)
6. D-Ou Grand Prix 2020 – A Block: Tetsuya Endo (5) Vs Keisuke Ishii (6)
7. D-Ou Grand Prix 2020 – A Block: Konosuke Takeshita (6) Vs Chris Brookes (5)

One round left in the group stage of the D-Ou Grand Prix and it’s all to play for. In the A Block each of the three matches have repercussions for the top spot. For the five still alive they need more than just a win to reach the final. Let’s look at what they need.

Yuki Iino: Needs at least a draw and for Takeshita & Ishii to both not win. If either do win, Iino will lose the tiebreaker against them. If both lose, Iino can qualify with a draw because he wins tiebreakers against Endo & Brookes.

Keisuke Ishii: Needs to win and he will qualify regardless of the other results. He will beat any tiebreakers against Iino & Takeshita. If he gets a draw then he will need Iino to not win and Takeshita Vs Brookes to end in a draw.

Konosuke Takeshita: Needs to win and have Ishii lose. There is no possible tiebreaker he can win.

Tetsuya Endo: Needs to win, have Iino lose and Takeshita Vs Brookes end in a draw. He is still alive if Brookes beats Takeshita because of the draw they had. In that situation Endo Vs Brookes in a playoff decides who wins the block.

Chris Brookes: Needs to win, have Iino lose and Endo Vs Ishii end in a draw. That way his win over Ishii is the tiebreaker. As mentioned above, Brookes and Endo both winning creates a playoff between them unless Iino gets a point.

Tokyo Belle Epoque Beauty School 2nd School Hall

1. Konosuke Takeshita & Yuki Iino Vs Yuki Ueno & Keigo Nakamura
2. Chris Brookes & Kazuki Hirata Vs Bull James & Antonio Honda
3. DAMNATION Vs ALL OUT!: Tetsuya Endo & Mad Paulie Vs Akito & Shunma Katsumata
4. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title – Battle Royal: Makoto Oishi (c) Vs Toru Owashi Vs Saki Akai Vs Masahiro Takanashi Vs Tomomitsu Matsunaga Vs Mizuki Watase Vs Yukio Naya
5. O-40 Title: Gorgeous Matsuno (c) Vs Cherry
6. D-Ou Grand Prix 2020 – B Block: Soma Takao (4) Vs Yukio Sakaguchi (2)
7. D-Ou Grand Prix 2020 – B Block: Daisuke Sasaki (8) Vs Naomi Yoshimura (0)
8. D-Ou Grand Prix 2020 – B Block: HARASHIMA (8) Vs Masato Tanaka (10)

The B Block is simpler to work out but still has a risk of getting messy. Masato Tanaka only needs a draw to qualify. HARASHIMA needs to beat Tanaka and hope Daisuke Sasaki does not beat Naomi Yoshimura. However if HARASHIMA and Sasaki both win, we get a three way tie with the tiebreakers all cancelling each other. The Soma Takao Vs Yukio Sakaguchi match does not matter in this situation.

So if we end up getting a playoff tiebreaker for either of the blocks, they are likely to take place on the same night as the final. That is not for certain but in the previous D-Ou tournaments in DDT it was always the backup plan.

Nobuhiro Shimatani will be on the show. It will be his first appearance in DDT since becoming a freelancer.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “TOKYO JOSHI PRO ’20”, 04/01/2020
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Saki Akai Vs Yuki Kamifuku
2. Shoko Nakajima Vs Hyper Misao
3. Mizuki Vs Thunder Rosa
4. International Princess Title: Maki Itoh (c) Vs Hikari Noa
5. Princess Tag Team Titles: Rika Tatsumi & Miu Watanabe (c) Vs Nodoka Tenma & Yuki Aino
6. Princess Of Princess Title: Yuka Sakazaki (c) Vs Miyu Yamashita

Now that she is a superhero again, Hyper Misao is taking time off to train at her local hyperbolic time chamber. Her return match will be against Shoko Nakajima on 4th January. It is fitting for a superhero’s first fight back to be against the Big Kaiju!

Saki Akai makes her annual appearance for Tokyo Joshi. Akai’s opponent is Yuki Kamifuku, who looks up to her not just as a wrestler but as a professional. Kamifuku thinks Akai is a good example of a joshi who can be both feminine and strong in the ring. She asked for this match to see if she can reach Akai’s level with her own style and beauty.

This is not the completed card. Tetsuya Koda is waiting to see if any inactive members of the roster will be ready in time before he sets everything in stone. Could an injured wrestler be close to full recovery?

Atsushi Onita also wants to find a way to bring the show over to Tampa next year for Wrestlemania week. Ken Ohka is so enthusiastic with the project that he asked Onita to co-promote a Ganbare☆Wrestling show with him next January. Onita agreed and Ganbare☆Onita Oya☆Pro Wrestling (Gan☆Nita☆Pro Wrestling for short) was born.

2. Maki Itoh defeated Haruna Neko with the Itoh Special (8:08).
3. Yuki Kamifuku & Mina Shirakawa defeated Mizuki & Pom Harajuku when Shirakawa pinned Harajuku with the Implant DDT (9:50).
4. Miyu Yamashita defeated Mahiro Kiryu with a Modified Cobra Clutch (6:45).
5. Yuka Sakazaki defeated Raku with the Magical Girl Splash (10:31).
6. Sakisama defeated Misao with the Academy Award (10:12).
7. Nodoka Tenma, Yuki Aino & Yuna Manase defeated Rika Tatsumi, Miu Watanabe & Mirai Maiumi when Tenma pinned Maiumi with the Killswitch (13:56).

Daydream were on the losing side of the main event but they look forward to being challenged by The Bakuretsu Sisters. At the end of the match Rika Tatsumi told the sisters that they should all do more at Korakuen Hall on 4th January. Yuna Manase gave the sisters her support to win the Princess Tag Team Titles.

Misao used most of what she learned under Sakisama’s guidance against her master. She used the Vanitas but Sakisama was too close to the ropes to get pinned. After she escaped from the Versailles Foot Choke, Misao went back to her roots and used a rope assisted School Boy for a nearfall. She also did the I Am The Hero Cross Body from the top rope. However Sakisama took back control and pinned Misao with the Academy Awards.

After the match Sakisama changed her mind. She was going to punish Misao but now she no longer cares what Misao wants to be. She gave Misao the Hyper Misao mask because she doesn’t need that either. Misao said she always wanted to be as strong as Sakisama. She was able to see a beautiful new world thanks to her. But the more she chased after Sakisama’s strength, the further away she was from discovering her own true strength. Misao now believes in herself and wants to follow her own path. Sakisama wasn’t paying attention because she only understands French but she said her goodbyes to Misao anyway. They shook hands until Misao kicked Sakisama in the stomach and put the Hyper Misao mask on. The hero that protects love and peace in Toyko Joshi Pro is back!

For the second show in a row Miyu Yamashita bought some food for Yuka Sakazaki. This time she got her a box of cookies and Sakazaki accepted them because they were her favourites. This means the Princess Of Princess Title match between them on 4th Janaury is now 100% confirmed. They even posed for a commemorative photo together for the occasion.

Mizuki Vs Thunder Rosa was announced for 4th January.

Sakisama’s grip on Misao has been loosened and it may be time for her guard to leave NEO Biishiki-gun. Misao rekindled her passion to seek strength through her own means but it conflicts with her adoration for Sakisama. She believes she must now take her own path to become stronger. However Sakisama isn’t pleased with Misao’s disobedience and wants to teach her a lesson one on one.

6. Falls Count Anywhere Match: Rika Tatsumi defeated Misao with the Missile Hip (14:59).
7. Miyu Yamashita, Yuna Manase & Mirai Maiumi defeated Yuka Sakazaki, Mizuki & Suzume when Yamashita pinned Suzume with the Attitude Adjustment (11:32).

Everybody shook hands before the main event. Well, except for Yuka Sakazaki. She stuck her tongue out at Miyu Yamashita. But it was Yamashita who got the last laugh. She pinned Suzume then posed with her fist pointing towards Sakazaki. There isn’t bad blood between them though. Yamashita even bought Sakazaki a box of candy as a gift. Sakazaki didn’t accept them but Mizuki did after she left the ring.

The feud between Rika Tatsumi and Misao all came down to this match. In the days before the show took place it was announced the match would be Falls Count Anywhere. Tatsumi came out carrying a Hyper Misao mask carrying a bag of chocolates. She wanted Misao to relive her match with Jun Kasai. The two fought around ringside and Tatsumi brought out the HiPami Cycle Misao used in her match with Kasai. Misao jumped out of the way and Tatsumi crashed the Cycle into the ring post. Back in the ring Misao gathered together a pile of chairs and did the Dies Irae onto them. But Tatsumi kicked out at two. Misao used the ropes for leverage on a School Boy but Tatsumi kicked out again. Misao went for the Kingslayer but Tatsumi countered it with the Dragon Twist Of Fate onto the chairs. She then grabbed the Hyper Misao mask and hit the Missile Hip for a definitive victory.

Tatsumi held her fist out towards Misao after the match. Misao reached out and fist bumped her in response. Tatsumi wanted Hyper Misao to return but she accepts that from this point on it is up to Misao to decide if she wants to come back or not. No matter what she chooses, Tatsumi will support her decision. When she handed the mask to Misao, Sakisama entered the ring and asked Misao what she was doing holding a dirty mask. Misao said she remembers what it is she wants to protect. Sakisama’s beauty is real but so too was the strength she felt during today’s match. She apologised to Sakisama for being selfish but she now wants to walk her own path. Sakisama isn’t going to let her leave NEO Biishiki-gun that easily though. She’ll teach her a lesson the next time they’re in the ring together. When Sakisama left the ring, Tatsumi gave Misao a Fighting Spirit slap across the face. They then fist bumped again.

Tatsumi’s current tag partner Miu Watanabe lost to Yuki Aino. According to Aino, Watanabe is the member of Up Up Girls (Pro Wrestling) that she wants to wrestle the most because Watanabe won the Princess Tag Titles before she could. Aino challenged Watanabe for the Tag Titles. It will be Daydream against The Bakuretsu Sisters on 4th January! Aino promised that she and Nodoka Tenma will explode in 2020.

Marika Kobashi announced that she passed her university entrance exam and will return to Tokyo Joshi Pro in the spring.

5. Sakisama Vs Rika Tatsumi ended in a No Contest when Misao interfered (10:23).
6. Yuka Sakazaki & Shoko Nakajima defeated Miu Watanabe & Nodaka Tenma when Nakajima pinned Tenma after the Malmö Comians (12:06).

Shoko Nakajima returns from Mexico full of confidence. Her first move back in Japan was pulling off a successful Miraclians reunion with Yuka Sakazaki. The two used their Malmö Comians double team move to get the win. Nakajima wants to make full use out of what she learned in Mexico for Tokyo Joshi Pro. Also she hated the toilets in Mexico.

The match between Sakisama and Rika Tatsumi went awry when Tatsumi missed a Hip Attack and hit the referee by mistake. Misao entered the ring to help Sakisama but her Jumping Knee Attack missed Tatsumi and hit Sakisama instead. Misao then attacked Tatsumi but Tatsumi held onto her. When the referee got back up and tried to separate them he was pushed away. He then called off the match. Sakisama is now sick of having to deal with Misao’s problem with Tatsumi. She stormed out of the ring, leaving Misao behind. Embarrassed by what happened, Misao challenged Tatsumi to a singles match. Tatsumi accepted but wants the match to be held on 30th November. Tatsumi told everyone this is her last chance to bring Hyper Misao back.

Hikari Noa challenged Maki Itoh for the International Princess Title. Itoh told her they had a match over a month ago and Itoh beat her then. Noa then said she originally wanted to challenge Natsumi Maki when she became the first champion but wasn’t confident enough at the time. Now she has changed and her goal is to win the title and defend it against Maki when she returns from injury. Her story convinced Itoh to change her mind and accept the challenge. She wants the match to be held at a “sunny stage” so it will be at Korakuen Hall on 4th January!

7. International Princess Title: Maki Itoh (c) defeated Nightshade with the Flying Big Head (10:47).
*V1 for Maki Itoh.

Maki Itoh is now the first champion to successfully defend the International Princess Title! She was able to kick out of Nightshade’s Neck Hanging Bomb. Nightshade went high risk with a Diving Senton but Itoh rolled out of the way. She then removed the ribbon from her pigtails before trading strikes with Nightshade. Itoh got the upper hand by using Headbutts and a DDT. She then hit the Flying Big Head from a long distance to get the win. Itoh told Nightshade she will never forget her because she took Itoh’s first defence virginity! They locked their little fingers together as thanks. Afterwards Itoh said she will be ready when Tokyo Joshi Pro returns to New York next April… She got New York mixed up with Tampa.

Operation Bring Back Hyper Misao took the next step today as Rika Tatsumi & Raku held a protest before their match with NEO Biishiki-gun! In scenes mirroring a stunt pulled by Hyper Misao last year, Tatsumi launched the National Come Back Home Hyper Misao Federation! Tatsumi & Raku brought out signs and protest gear including the style of cloak that Hyper Misao used to wear. Misao didn’t care and she attacked Tatsumi with a cane before pinning Raku with the Vanitas. Sakisama challenged Tatsumi to a match on 23rd November.

Yuki Aino’s Camel Clutch style Full Nelson now has a name. It is the Full Nelson Of Love And Fire!

5. Nightshade & Yuki Kamifuku defeated Maki Itoh & Yuki Aino when Nightshade pinned Aino with the Neck Hanging Bomb (9:38).
6. Miyu Yamashita & Raku defeated Yuka Sakazaki & Hikari Noa when Yamashita pinned Noa with the Crash Rabbit Heat (13:27).

After the main event, Miyu Yamashita said she wants to light up Yuka Sakazaki as they prepare for the Princess Of Princess Title match on 4th January. This is because Sakazaki didn’t want her first title defence to be against her. Yamashita hopes Sakazaki will get just as motivated as she is for their match.

The debuting Nightshade showed her power by using Spears, Splashes, Lariats and her Neck Hanging Bomb finisher to win her tag match. She told Maki Itoh she is ready for their International Princess Title match next week. Itoh gave her the middle finger and the two told each other to “walk away.”

Losing the Princess Tag Team Titles has left Misao feeling despondent. She was missing during NEO Biishiki-gun’s entrance. Sakisama didn’t notice she was by herself until she got into the ring. When she figured it out she went back and dragged Misao out. Misao was put into an ever worse state when Mahiro Kiryu loudly reminded her she is no longer a champion. Kiryu held Misao in place while Yuna Manase grabbed Sakisama’s rose. Manase swung the rose at Misao but Sakisama jumped in and took the blow for her. That snapped Misao out of her rut and she rallied the team to victory. Sakisama was telling Misao how wonderful it was to see her recover when Rika Tatsumi entered the ring. She asked Misao if her defeat at Sumo Hall means that Hyper Misao can come back? She requested a hug but Misao left the ring with Sakisama instead. Tatsumi isn’t upset about it. She knows that Hyper Misao will come back some day.
