1. Falls Count Anywhere Tag Match: Yuki Ueno & MAO defeated Sanshiro Takagi & Hideki Okatani when MAO pinned Okatani with the Michinoku Driver II onto the Bench Press Stand (22:28).
DDT was invited to hold a Rojo Pro Wrestling match inside a Nagoya Fitness Shop, one day before “DRAMATIC EXPLOSION 2021”. The match started off normally with Yuki Ueno and Hideki Okatani exchanging holds. But once MAO and Sanshiro Takagi took part things went wacky real quick. Takagi grabbed the arms off the store’s display mannequin to use as weapons. The four then began fighting out of the shop and down the hallway over to nearby stores. MAO threw Takagi down a stairway and then dragged him into an elevator with Okatani. Ueno was left on his own so he talked to the spectators until the elevator returned with MAO being stretched by his opponents. The match returned to the fitness shop straight into the men’s restroom.
After that unintentional bathroom break, the wrestlers all grabbed blank art canvasses and decided to draw pictures of each other. Ueno and Okatani then used the running machines while fighting each other until both slipped off. Takagi grabbed the mannequin arm and charged in for a Lariat. Unfortunately MAO ducked and Okatani got hit instead. Takagi then got trapped under a workout machine. Ueno used the same machine to swing into a Hurricanrana to Okatani. MAO grabbed a kettlebell but Okatani stopped him from dropping it on top of Takagi. The art canvasses were broken over everyone’s heads and this time MAO was able to drop the kettlebell on Takagi. Ueno took out a bench press and MAO slammed Okatani onto it with the Michinoku Driver II for the win.

Since Kenta Kobashi will be in attendance to see the D-Ou Grand Prix final, Tetsuya Endo decided to visit him at his gym during the week to get some feedback on his tournament performance. Endo also brought up his plans to create a new unit. He asked Kobashi for advice, citing Kobashi’s experience leading units such as GET and Burning. Kobashi said a unit needs a strategist so Endo’s position would improve if he finds a councilor. Endo immediately asked Kobashi if he could take that role in the unit. Kobashi declined because he is not interested in returning to the ring. He did however invite Endo back to his gym again after the Grand Prix so they could talk more about potential members for Endo’s new unit.
While I’ve been writing up this blog post, all of a sudden DDT sends out a tweet in English hyping up a big mystery name. “That BIG NAME that everyone’s talking about recently will be at DDT 12.26 NEVER MIND 2021 in YOYOGI! Some of the D-Ou Grand Prix invited press to view their training sessions in the lead up to the tournament. Kazusada Higuchi was taken through special training in Yokohama under Yukio Sakaguchi’s supervision and with Yuki Ishida helping out. First they worked out in a park then they held drills over at the Sakaguchi Dojo to work on Higuchi’s lower body strength. Higuchi said it was a long time since he participated in sumo training, not since before his knee injury. Sakaguchi told Higuchi that the D-Ou is more of a mental game than a physical one. Higuchi agrees it is a good lesson to learn.
Meanwhile MAO visited self-proclaimed Koppojutsu expert Takumi Yano to learn from him. After being shown around the place for an hour, MAO learned new stand up and ground techniques from Yano that focus on body joints. MAO learned a lot but admitted that one day’s training does not mean he can do use the new moves just like that. It will require more training but if he can get ready then he thinks Koppojutsu will be useful against HARASHIMA. Yano encouraged MAO to continue because when he was MAO’s age he was only a year into his Koppojutsu training.

The format is still secret but we know Yoshihiko and Kouzi will be hanging around inside the Tokyo Dome on the day of the show.

Match 2 for YuuRI’s trial series is against another big name on the joshi scene, Maya Yukihi.
Moeka Haruhi will be on the show. Storyline wise she’s come across as the odd woman out on the Ganbare☆Joshi events so far.

The Ganbare☆Climax moves on to Round 2. Shinichiro Tominaga eliminating Keisuke Ishii was the big surprise in Round 1. Can he get a Cinderella run going by defeating the last tournament winner Yumehito Imanari? Meanwhile Tetsuhiro Kuroda and Mizuki Watase get their first matches in the bracket. Kuroda is seen as a god by Ken Ohka because he was nice to him back in Ohka’s rookie days. Watase is as motivated as he has ever been to go far and grab some success in the ring.
Soma Takao has been hanging around at Ganbare☆Pro recently to show support for the other wrestlers in his generation. After being by Shota’s side at the last show, Takao was invited to wrestle on a Ganpro show for the first time.
Also at the show will be Shinjiro Otani. He is now the on-site director for Ganpro.

The Magical Sugar Rabbits are handed a tough first defence. 121000000 are a united front in the aftermath to the “WRESTLE PRINCESS II” main event. I think. They’re bickering over whether or not Miyu Yamashita really cares about Maki Itoh. It’s the opposite to Yuka Sakazaki & Mizuki. Those two with the Princess Tag Titles have in the past been the most unbeatable duo in TJPW. 121000000 need to get their heads together (perhaps literally) if they want to win the belts.
