DDT have announced that the “DOTONBORI STORY 9” event held in the Osaka Minami Move On Arena tomorrow will still take place as scheduled. Everyone in DDT gives out their sympathy and prays for everyone’s safety in Japan aswell as the earliest restoration of calm after the tragedy that took place this week. A donation drive will take place during the show and DDT will also donate a portion of the money they make from the event to the victims of the earthquakes and tsunamis who now badly need aid and assistance.

A Union That Actually Works
March 8, 2011Yesterday’s results have been updated to correct some mistakes I made due to misunderstanding the translation. Turns out there was more to the 1990s Foreigner Battle Royal than just five Stan Hansens.
The Challenge Right Fight +α Anytime and Anywhere Battle Royal (quite the mouthful there) that will take place in Korakuen Hall on the 27th March will feature at least three Union wrestlers. Who they are has not been announced.

5. Takao Omori defeated Keisuke Ishii with the Axe Bomber (16:19).
Keisuke Ishii said it was a dream come true to face Takao Omori aswell as to produce his own event. But he also said there are still a lot of dreams he wants to accomplish and he will work hard towards achieving them.
Shuji Ishikawa replaced Tanomusaku Toba in Match #2. Toba suffered a broken nose during his match with Tsuyoshi Kikuchi at the Cruiser’s Game event held earlier.
Keisuke Ishii’s opponents in the dark match were all childhood friends of his. They included a freeter, a salary-man and an unemployed person. Home-made video footage of them as kids wrestling in their bedrooms was shown on the screen before the show. To help bring back such fond memories of their childhood, they had a bed placed inside the ring to do all of their moves on during the match.

*V1 for Isami.
Yep, Isami Kodaka successfully defended the DDT Extreme Championship by using a special attack taken from Naruto. MIKAMI might be the next challenger for the belt.
TKG48 announced their latest recruit. Please welcome Member #17: Genichiro Tenryu! He will appear at the next Union show on 3rd April in Shinjuku FACE for a 6-Man Tag match. It will be Tenryu, Sanshiro Takagi & Shigehiro Irie Vs Shuji Ishikawa, Tsuyoshi Kikuchi & Hiro Tsumaki. Takagi allowed Union to rent Kikuchi from TKG48 for the match. Kikuchi had no idea what Takagi was talking about. Tsumaki earns a spot in his biggest match yet after grabbing the upset win in Match #3.

5. Dick Togo & TAKA Michinoku defeated The Great Sasuke & MIKAMI when Togo pinned MIKAMI with the Diving Senton (20:58).
This was the tenth Cruiser’s Game show to take place since its creation in 2005.
Apparently the Great Sasuke earned the nickname “Lord Weird Uncle” after this show.
Tanomusaku Toba suffered a broken nose in his match against Tsuyoshi Kikuchi. I think the injury happened from a stiff Kikuchi Elbow Smash. He has pulled out of Keisuke Ishii’s Produce Show set to be held later today.
The DDT roster set up a flea market where they sold loads of different merchandise throughout the three shows. Danshoku Dino was willing to bargain with fans if they would put themselves into a “strong position”. Cherry meanwhile set up a Nico Nico Curry stall.
DDT And Union In NEVER Tournament
March 5, 2011Looks like Ken Ohka’s begging paid off. The NEVER brand from New Japan Pro Wrestling will be hosting a 16-Man Tournament on the 7th & 8th of April. Both DDT and Union will be represented in the tournament. DDT will enter Keisuke Ishii & Kazuki Hirata, both of whom have already wrestled in NEVER. Union will have Ken Ohka & Shinichiro Tominaga representing them. Other wrestlers involved here who also regularly appear in DDT and Union include Daisuke Sasaki, Tsuyoshi Kikuchi and Madoka. We are not far away from the annual Best Of The Super Juniors tournament and a great, breakout performance by any of these wrestlers could potentially pave the way for an invitation to take part in the competition.

Aoi Ishibashi is a 17 year old joshi wrestler who was part of NEO until she quit the promotion in the middle of 2010. With just over a year of experience she is now a freelancer.
There wil be a dark match involving Takao Omori and Ken Ohka planned to take place before the show.
I now have a schedule page done up. Yay! Everything from now until Sumo Hall is listed.
