7. BJW Tag Team Title: Shuji Ishikawa & Shigehiro Irie (c) defeated Abdullah Kobayashi & Ryuji Ito when Ishikawa pinned Ito with the Cross-Arm Splash Mountain (19:03).
*V1 for BIG “G” BANG.

BIG “G” BANG defeated two of the mainstays of Big Japan to achieve V1 for the BJW Tag Team Championship. Even without the death match setting, Abdullah Kobayashi & Ryuji Ito were a dangerous duo to be reckoned with. Yukinori Matsui was taken out of action during the match, allowing the Big Japan team to bring is chairs and use them without any consequences. However, the champions retained when Shuji Ishikawa rolled away from Kobayashi’s Bakachinga Elbow. Ishikawa gave him the Splash Mountain but Kobayashi kicked out at two. Ishikawa then gave him the Cross-Arm Splash Mountain and that was enough to win the match.

After the match, Ishikawa told the fans that he wants to bring the DDT Extreme Title back to Union. Yuko Miyamoto, fresh off of his victory over Cherry earlier in the show, accepted the challenge and set the match for Shin-Kiba 1st RING on 18th July.

Tokyo Joshi Pro held an offer match with NOZOMI making her re-debut for her first bout in around 2 or 3 years. She was pitted against former JWP Junior Champion Kagetsu and had a chance to shake off her ring rust and learn the basics once again. NOZOMI lost to the classic rookie killer move, the Boston Crab. Afterwards she gave a bow to all four sides of the arena.

Before Match #2 began, Mio Shirai and Princess Makoto got into another argument over who is more sexy. They asked the other wrestlers plus Yukinori Matsui to judge who had the better looking chest. Makoto won the vote. In the match itself, Makoto used her charms to distract Ken Ohka and allow Shiryu to roll him over for the pin.

6. KO-D Tag Team Title: KUDO & Makoto Oishi defeated Yasu Urano & Yuji Hino (c) when KUDO pinned Urano with the Diving Double Knee Drop (16:33).
*Crying Wolf fail in V3. KUDO & Makoto Oishi become the 44th KO-D Tag Team Champions!

Homoiro Clover Z has good reasons to celebrate tonight because KUDO & Makoto Oishi are the new KO-D Tag Team Champions! It was a big task made even tougher when Yuji Hino & Yasu Urano attacked the challengers during a handshake at the beginning of the match. But the tactic to focus on Urano and get Hino out of the match for as long as possible worked out in the end. The new champions said they now have a golden ticket for Budokan Hall and they hope Kota Ibushi will be joining them. Both Urano & Hino refused to give any comments to the press after the match.

DDT prepared a crack team of wrestlers to win back the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title from the recent string of women wrestlers. Unfortunately Kota Ibushi, Kenny Omega & Daisuke Sasaki were busy wrestling in New Japan. So DDT had to make do with Masa Takanashi, Tomomitsu Matsunaga & DJ Nira instead. Tsukasa Fujimoto eliminated all three of them in a Battle Royal to keep the championship. Afterwards Fujimoto said that she heard that whoever holds this belt will be guaranteed to wrestle inside Budokan Hall soon. She is not afraid of anyone who will attack her while she is walking down a street in the middle of the night just to get the belt. She will continue to hold the belt and will soon represent Ice Ribbon in Budokan Hall. Later on in the show, Matsunaga ambushed Fujimoto to try and win the belt. However, Fujimoto avoided getting pinned and ran away safely.

Sanshiro Takagi Vs Daishi began with the injured Mitsuhiro Yoshida admitting that he wasn’t injured at all. He tricked Takagi into having a match with Daishi, who had wanted to fight the DDT president at his own game. The match spread out of the ring and even out of the building to a playground outside the building. Takagi eventually won the match and he shook hands with Daishi. He also tricked Yoshida and gave him a Stunner when he reached out to shake his hand.

1. Sanshiro Takagi & Takao Soma defeated Hoshitango & Tetsuya Endo when Soma pinned Endo with the Boma Ye (8:55).
2. Emi Sakura defeated DJ Nira with a Mexican Surfboard (4:26).
3. HARASHIMA & Daisuke Sasaki defeated KUDO & Makoto Oishi when Sasaki pinned Oishi with the NOW or NEVER (8:32).
4. Shuji Ishikawa, Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie defeated Kenny Omega, Hikaru Sato & Michael Nakazawa when Ishikawa pinned Nakazawa with the Splash Mountain (11:26).
5. Kota Ibushi & Danshoku Dino defeated Yasu Urano & Antonio Honda when Ibushi pinned Honda with the Sit Down Last Ride (16:36).
6. Masa Takanashi defeated Tomomitsu Matsunaga with the Avalanche Takatonic (23:34).

Even though Masa Takanashi is from Ichikawa City in Chiba, this show in Edogawa was treated as his triumphant homecoming in a broad sense. The posters advertising the show also had Masa posing with championship belts, none of which he currently has.

Masa won his big match in the main event, defeating Tomomitsu Matsunaga with the Avalanche version of his Takatonic finisher. Masa once again fell victim to the dreaded Axe Guillotine Driver, a critical move which has been used in the past to counter the Takatonic. Yet he was able to kick out of the pin. He even kicked out of the Tiger Driver and avoided the Tiger Driver ’91.

After the match, Takanashi apologised to the fans for false advertisement. He admitted that the show should have been advertised for another special occasion, the 9th Anniversary of Shuji Ishikawa’s wrestling debut! Shuji had his first match in DDT on 15th June, 2003 against Super Uchu Power. Shuji was invited down to the ring while the fans chanted his name. They also invited Daichi Kakimoto into the ring since he is also approaching the 9th Anniversary of his debut. To mark the special occassion, all three performed a Triple Dropkick on Ken Ohka.

KUDO & Makoto Oishi suffered a minor setback by losing a match just one day before they challenge for the KO-D Tag Team Championship. Luckily for them one of the champions also lost today as Yasu Urano & Antonio Honda fell to Kota Ibushi & Danshoku Dino. Speaking of that match, Dino promised that it was going to be a very serious match between the two teams. Instead, by the end of the match everyone had the back of their tights pulled down and their rear ends exposed. Afterwards, Dino simply told the crowd “That was our serious match. Thank you.”

Iron Man Goes Bananas

June 13, 2012

Another day, another Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title change. Continuing the current path around the joshi circuit, the belt will now be travelling towards Ice Ribbon as their current ace Tsukasa Fujimoto won the belt from Hiroyo Matsumoto at the end of today’s show. The title change happened when Matsumoto slipped on a banana peel and Fujimoto capitalised on her moment of weakness. Matsumoto became champion a few days ago when she defeated Mio Shirai over in Oz Academy. If DDT wants the title back (and judging from previous incidents the answer to that is maybe) this could be their best chance now the belt is in Ice Ribbon since wrestlers like Masa Takanashi compete there on a regular basis. Or they could just wait for the champion to defend the belt in Korakuen Hall on 24th June. Whichever comes first. No word on whether or not the banana will join the title chase.

3 Way Trios Match: KUDO, Makoto Oishi & Akito defeated Danshoku Dino, Kota Ibushi & Hiroshi Fukuda and Michael Nakazawa, Tomomitsu Matsunaga & DJ Nira when Oishi submitted Nakazawa with a Palo Special on top of a forklift (28:01).

Homoiro Clover Z planned a special performance over at the Miyaju Ironworks, a popular location for DDT’s infamous Anwhere Pro Wrestling shows for some fun games, singing and dancing. However, the show was met with a few setbacks. The performance was delayed for an hour due to rainy weather. Then the planned game of bingo was cancelled when everyone forgot to bring cards. If that wasn’t bad enough, the Rock, Paper, Scissors tournament afterwards was interrupted by Michael Nakazawa and Tomomitsu Matsunaga. The two challenged Homoiro Clover Z to a game of Musical Chairs but that soon devolved into more arguements. Everyone decided to solve their problems by holding a Falls Count Anywhere Three Way Trios match. Danshoku Dino, Kota Ibushi & Hiroshi Fukuda were the first team, KUDO, Makoto Oishi & Akito were the second team and Nakazawa & Matsunaga dragged DJ Nira over to their side to be the third team. That left Hikari Minami on her own to cheer for everyone, dance on top of the forklift and cause some extra mischief on the side.

The factory surroundings were used during the match. Ibushi and Dino used a crane to hang Nakazawa by his tights, Akito and Fukuda threw lime powder at each other and everyone else fought to get access to parked van nearby. Nakazawa called for a ceasefire when he needed to use the bathroom but while he wasy busy using the urinal, Ibushi snuck up to him and kicked him in the rear. Dino used the forklift to lift him up and down on Oishi with his Danshoku Nightmare and then Ibushi later did a moonsault from the raised forklift. Oishi and Nakazawa then fought on top of the forklift. Oishi took a page from Warsman and locked on the Palo Special on Nakazawa with the forklift lowering down towards Dino’s exposed backside. Nakazawa submitted. Homoiro Clover Z ended the performance with their idol pose and thanked all the fans for coming.

6. HARASHIMA, KUDO, Shigehiro Irie & Masaaki Mochizuki defeated Cyber Kong, Naoki Tanizaki, Kzy & Mondai Ryu by DQ when Ryu attacked the referee (3:00).
6a. Sanshiro Takagi, Masaaki Mochizuki, HARASHIMA, KUDO & Shigehiro Irie defeated Akira Tozawa, Cyber Kong, Naoki Tanizaki, Kzy & Mondai Ryu when HARASHIMA pinned Kzy with the Somato (12:10).

The Falls Count Anywhere dark match between Michael Nakazawa and Stalker Ichikawa began 5 minutes before the doors of the arena were open to the public. After brawling outside the ring for a long time and guest ref Gorgeous Matsuno being unable to physically count to three, the match was nearing its time limit. Nakazawa, Ishikawa and Matsuno all agreed to get rid of the time limit and continue the match until a winner was crowned. They brawled to the back and everyone has assumed that the match is still going on.

Sanshiro Takagi and Masaaki Mochizuki became kindred spirits after the opening match, showing respect to each other for still going strong into their forties. Takagi wondered if they should form a tag team to show the younger wrestlers that they’ve still got it.

Ken Ohka tried to get Masa Takanashi and Super Shisa to put aside their differences and shake hands after their match. Takanashi refused and lashed out at Shisa Boy. Super Shisa got angry and gave everyone in the ring the Yoshitonic, even Takayuki Yagi the referee.

Danshoku Dino announced the rules for the Danshoku Rumble. Dino believes that 80% of pro wrestlers are secretly gay and it was up to him to get them out of the closet. So for this match if Dino kissed any of his opponents, they would have to admit they were gay and wear one of Dino’s spare tights. Anyone who beats Dino or lasts 15 minutes without getting kissed wins the match and proves that they are not gay. One by one the competitors fell to Dino and Don Fujii was soon left on his own. But right when Dino had Fujii’s head down his tights for the Danshoku Driver, Fujii escaped and pinned him with a Small Package to win. Then it was revealed that Fujii was wearing Danshoku tights under his gear all along and he gave Kotoka a kiss followed by the Danshoku Driver.

Back to the proper matches, Dragon Gate scored victories in the two most anticipated bouts. Shingo Takagi & YAMATO were too powerful for Kenny Omega & Keisuke Ishii to handle. As Omega and YAMATO were going back and forth, Takagi caught Omega by surprise with a Pumping Bomber. Ishii tried to keep the match alive but was then targeted by YAMATO. Ishii was down and out after a Vertical Drop Brainbuster and the Gallaria.

BxB Hulk defeated Kota Ibushi in a rematch from their DDG bout five years ago. Both men have grown a lot since then, both with their ability and with their personalities. Ibushi almost won with two Lariat and the Sit Down Last Ride Power Bomb. Hulk turned the tables with a big combo of Mouse, F.T.X., Spin Kick, Axe Kick and finally the First Flash to score the win and avenge his defeat to Ibushi from 5 years ago.

The main event saw some changes due to a possible delay with Akira Tozawa returning from the UK. When it was time for the main event to begin, Kzy yelled about Tozawa not being in the arena and also said that both Naoki Tanizaki & Mondai Ryu would replace him. The MAD BLANKEY team then attacked the DDT team until Mochizuki ran out to make the save. HARASHIMA then suggested to make the match an 8-Man Tag Team bout with Mochizuki joining him, KUDO & Shigehiro Irie. The match was made and Mochizuki was about to win in quick fashion after giving Ryu the Twister. However, the other MAD BLANKEY wrestlers pulled the ref out of the ring during the pin and got themselves disqualified in the process.

As both teams brawled after the match, Tozawa finally showed up and insulted both DDT. He also said they should stop hosting anymore DDG shows. Sanshiro Takagi came out and HARSHIMA suggested to restart the main event this time as a 10-Man Tag Team match with Takagi and Tozawa now involved. The restart saw the DDT+Mochi team bring the fight back to MAD BLANKEY with Irie trading Lariats with Cyber Kong, HARASHIMA & KUDO sandwiching Mondai Ryu with Middle Kicks, Mochi kicking the crap out of Tozawa and Takagi carrying both Tozawa and Ryu over his shoulders at the same time for a Spicolli Driver. The match ended when HARASHIMA dumped Kzy on his head with a Reverse Frankensteiner and then flattened him with the Somato.

As the show came to an end, HARASHIMA thanked the crowd for coming to see the first DDG show in four years. Takagi and Mochizuki again talked about forming a team together and becoming the strongest pair of wrestlers who were born on January, 1970. Michael Nakazawa and Stalker Ishikawa then made a reappearance to remind people their match was still going on.
