Fuminori Abe is the new Union MAX Champion but he only won it because Masahiro Takanashi suffered a freak injury two minutes into their match. Takanashi is giving Abe his support because hey, this is the pro wrestling business. Injuries happen all the time and winning a championship that way doesn’t make it any less legitimate in Takanashi’s eyes. Abe has promised to remain the champion until Takanashi recovers from his fractured fibula.
If this Chiba show goes ahead, Abe could be fighting against the current IRON FIST Tag Champions. That match will also be Tetsuo Usui’s first proper main event (excluding a bonus multi-man tag back in January).
