1. Ganpro Vs Reiwa Bubble: Ken Ohka & Yumehito Imanari defeated Masayuki Mitomi & Kentaro Yasu when Ohka pinned Yasu with the Fire Spear (10:20).
2. Independent Women’s Bout: Ayame Sasamura defeated Chie Koishikawa with the Blockbuster Hold (5:42).
3. Independent Dream Bout: Chris Brookes Vs Hagane Shinno ended in a Double Pinfall (16:15).
4. This Is Indie Wrestling Summit! Special 6-Man Tag Match: TORU, Jun Tonsho & Tatsuya Hanami defeated Takumi Tsukamoto, MAO & Baliyan Akki when TORU pinned Akki with the Vertical Drop Brainbuster (15:06).
5. ROMANCE DAWN Vs Aka Rangers!: Takashi Sasaki & GENTARO defeated Shota & Soma Takao when Sasaki pinned Shota with the D-Geist (20:15).

The exciting new voyage that is ROMANCE DAWN has hit a few rocks in the form of Aka Rangers. The veteran tag team took the fresh pairing to school and taught them an important lesson: pro wrestling is not just about making memories. Takashi Sasaki could feel Shota’s passion in the ring but asks if he is satisfied with only doing that. GENTARO is a little less harsh and is open to wrestling Shota in a Best 2 out of 3 Falls match with a 61 minute time limit. Soma Takao said he isn’t aiming to be the best in DDT or Ganbare☆Pro this year. Instead he wants to be active in as many promotions as he can so ROMANCE DAWN will be recognised everywhere.

Jun Tonsho tried to roll up MAO for the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title after their match but failed to win it.

6. Special Tag Match: Minoru Fujita & Soma Takao defeated Daisuke Sasaki & MJ Paul when Fujita pinned Paul with the Modified Samson Clutch (12:24).
7. The 37KAMIINA Vs BURNING!: Tetsuya Endo, Jun Akiyama & Yuya Koroku defeated Konosuke Takeshita, Yuki Ueno & Toui Kojima when Koroku submitted Kojima with a Chickenwing Arm Lock (24:12).

The result of the main event is a little reminder that BURNING is not just about Tetsuya Endo. It was Yuya Koroku who picked up the win for the first time in his 9 month long career by making Toui Kojima submit. Koroku didn’t join the unit just to be Endo’s or Jun Akiyama’s henchman. He wants to put himself out there and reach for the top! Meanwhile Endo & Akiyama declared their intention to win the Ultimate Tag League and Endo promised to be the last man standing at Sumo Hall at the 25th Anniversary show! Meanwhile Konosuke Takeshita mentioned he will have nothing to say if he & Yuki Ueno don’t reach the Tag League final.

The DDT Universal Title match is just around the corner and Minoru Fujita showed he is in good enough shape for the champion. Fujita won the tag match by rolling up MJ Paul with the Samson Clutch. His message to Daisuke Sasaki was to sleep well and eat well before they fight for the title in Yokohama. Sasaki is happy to see the dirty fighter version of Fujita reappear because that is who he wants to wrestle against.

Maya Yukihi told Saki Akai a personal story about her first attempted entry into pro wrestling. Yukihi was always a DDT fan and approached the company eight years ago wanting to become a wrestler. She was turned down. So when she saw Akai join DDT and have her debut match with the company around the same time period, she felt an ugly jealousy towards her. But the rejection sent Yukihi on the path towards joshi wrestling and she made her career through that direction instead. So as a proud joshi, Yukihi challenged Akai to a singles match in a DDT ring. Akai accepted the match and asked for it to take place in either Shinjuku FACE or Korakuen Hall. Instead Sanshiro Takagi decided to book it for Sumo Hall! He apologised to Yukihi for DDT rejecting her all those years ago. Akai told her what an important milestone it is for a singles match between two women to take place at the 25th Anniversary show. Yukihi said she will put all that she’s done in joshi to the test against her.

Chris Brookes knew he was in for the fight of his life against Yoshihiko and wasted no time going in for the attack. He left the doll beaten and battered outside the ring hoping to get a countout win by Yoshihiko dragged itself back into the ring. Drew Parker set up a table and Brookes put Yoshihiko through it with the Praying Mantis Bomb to finally end the match. The hellacious fight ended with the two earning each other’s respect and they shook hands afterwards. Backstage Brookes called Yoshihiko the strongest wrestler in DDT but he had the stronger desire to win.

The DDT GM Hisaya Imabayashi is sick of seeing Pheromones getting away with their antics and putting the live broadcasts at risk. He hatched a plan with their opponents before the match. He noticed that every match Pheromones wins involves their butts getting exposed so preventing that will increase their chances of losing. Imabayashi himself got involved by grabbing hold of Yuki Iino’s tights so he wouldn’t pull them down. However Danshoku Dieno then grabbed Imabayashi’s pants and pulled them down. The match got called off when Imabayashi was thrown face first into Iino’s backside. Dieno called this a New Year’s gift from Pheromones. They are entering the Ultimate Tag League and promise to drag all opponents down to their level.

MAO winning the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title means we’re going to see that belt get passed around during the Tag League.

Super Sasadango Machine announced that Hiragana Muscle will hold five shows in three days at Kitazawa Town Hall from 29th to 31st March. All five shows count as “HIRAGANA MUSCLE 6”.

Ultimate Tag League 2022 Schedule

January 7, 2022

This year’s Ultimate Tag League will consist of two blocks with five teams each. The teams that finish first place in both blocks qualify for the final. If there is a tie for first then the Direct Confrontation rule will be used as the tiebreaker. If that match result turned out to be a draw then a sudden death decision match will go ahead. Every match in the group stage has a 30 minute time limit and the final has no time limit. 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for a loss. If a match ends in a draw because of Double Countout outside the ring or if the referee declares a No Contest then both teams receive 0 points (May as well call that the Pheromone Rule). The winners of the Ultimate Tag League will be declared the 72nd KO-D Tag Team Champions.

1. Raimu Imai & Toui Kojima defeated Yuya Koroku & Yuki Ishida when Kojima pinned Ishida with the Kojima In Wonderland ~Kojima Wonderland~ (9:23).
2. Hardcore Match: Akane Fujita & Shunma Katsumata defeated Suzu Suzuki & Hideki Okatani when Katsumata pinned Okatani with the Sauna Trance Splash from the Ladder (19:37).
3. Yuki Ueno defeated Daichi Sato with the Blizzard Suplex (11:26).
4. You-sei☆Estrella defeated El Unicorn with the Styles Clash (11:55).
5. Ilusion & Tetsuya Endo defeated Vent Vert Jack & Naomi Yoshimura when Ilusion pinned Jack with the Modified Pedigree (18:58).

Ilusion got one over on Vent Vert Jack after Jack beat him on 26th December. This time around it was a tag match where Ilusion was teaming with Tetsuya Endo and Jack had Naomi Yoshimura as his partner. While Ilusion is pleased to win his first match of 2022, he still wants a singles rematch against Jack so he can get his full revenge over what happened in Yoyogi.

El Unicorn was disappointed with his loss to You-sei☆Estrella. He understands he needs find more opponents to wrestle against repeatedly so he can become stronger. His next match will be against Vent Vert Jack on the 16th January DDT show so he promises to practice hard until then.

Yuki Ueno praised Daichi Sato a lot for his performance today. He said the 13 year old looks like a baby but he has loads of enthusiasm and energy. Ueno is looking forward to see what Sato will learn from this point forward and he hopes his career won’t stumble.

There is still resentment between Akane Fujita and Shunma Katsumata over Fujita’s accusations that Katsumata steals her death match ideas. Katsumata’s denies it and explains he just gets the same ideas for using toy blocks that she does. Katsumata also liked wrestling against Suzu Suzuki and hopes the two of them will get a singles match somewhere. Suzuki wants that challenge because Katsumata scattered her box of bells over the floor before the match began. Hidaki Okatani thought the match was exciting but regrets the moments when his ideas backfired.

2. Special Single Match ~ Gake no Fuchi Rules: Risa Sera (105 pts) defeated Miyako Matsumoto (0 pts) by Points Victory (14:28).
3. Special Hardcore Tag Match: Sanshiro Takagi & SenoSister Mao Inoue Vs Mochi Miyagi & Akane Miura ended in a No Contest when Shunma Katsumata interfered (11:45).
4. Gake no Fuchi Vs Prominence Full Scale Battle! No DQ Match: Sanshiro Takagi, Risa Sera, Mochi Miyagi, Akane Fujita & Suzu Suzuki (w/ Hiragi Kurumi) defeated Miyako Matsumoto, Chris Brookes, Shunma Katsumata & SenoSister Mao Inoue (w/ SenoSister Mao & Ippanjin Munenori Sawa) when Sera pinned Matsumoto with the Diving Double Knee Drop onto the Ladder (15:26).

Today was the first event for Prominence since the freelance group’s inception. They were invited by Gake no Fuchi Joshi for a full-scale inter-promotional battle on one of the most important dates of the Japanese wrestling calandar. Four matches pitting different members of the two groups against each other filled out the card.

Up first was Chris Brookes against Suzu Suzuki in a Hardcore Match. The match featured chairs, ladders, thumbtacks, a board full of forks sticking out and most striking of all, a coffin! Brookes won in the end by putting Suzuki through the coffin with the Praying Mantis Bomb. Suzuki still gave him the middle finger afterwards.

Next up was former colleagues Miyako Matsumoto and Risa Sera taking each other on under Gake no Fuchi Rules. The match would get interrupted with mini-games where points are scored. The ringside seconds Munenori Sawa and Hiragi Kurumi would get dragged into the fun with some of the games on offer, like a sumo bout for example. The match was finally called to an end after Sera put Matsumoto in a Giant Swing for 22 rotations. She was given 100 points for it making the final score Risa Sera – 105, Miyako Matsumoto – 0.

Match #3 was turned into a Hardcore Tag Match after strong requests from almost everyone involved. MAO did his SenoSister impersonation gimmick alongside the real SenoSister Mao. His weapon attacks kept hitting Sanshiro Takagi by mistake, causing Takagi to betray Gake no Fuchi and join Prominence’s side! Akane Fujita poured out a box of block toys in the ring and Mochi Miyagi gave MAO a Lou Thesz Press onto them. Takagi was ready to finish him off with the Himawari Bomb when suddenly Shunma Katsumata ran out and attacked the Prominence team! He had previously been accused by Prominence of stealing their ideas for death match weapons so today he came to confront them over it. The Hardcore match was called off and Matsumoto added Katsumata to her team for the main event.

The big finale was an all out battle between Gake no Fuchi Joshi and Prominence. Katsumata and Fujita had a swordfight with swords made out of toy blocks. Matsumoto jumped out of the ring to put Sera through a table at ringside. SenoSister Mao got involved by diving off the top rope onto everyone below. But in the end Prominence took over and Risa hit a Diving Double Knee Drop onto Matsumoto with a ladder to win the match.

The show ultimately ended with Prominence as the winners. Takagi called today a really great show and offered Prominence to distribute their future events on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. Mao encouraged a beaten Matsumoto to make Gake no Fuchi Joshi a rival promotion to Prominence from now on. Matsumoto then announced her new year’s resolution is to get Gake no Fuchi Joshi to Korakuen Hall and ultimately Sumo Hall!

*V4 for Miyu Yamashita.

Tokyo Joshi Pro kicked off their 2022 in Korakuen Hall for their 7th annual Ittenyon show. In the main event Miyu Yamashita put the Princess Of Princess Title on the line against Mizuki. The champion went big by using an Avalanche Attitude Adjustment while Mizuki fought back with Diving Foot Stomps both in and outside the ring. The Whirling Candy was also used but Mizuki just couldn’t find the opening to win. She was able to stop the Crash Rabbit Heat from happening but Yamashita then went on the defensive and blocked the Cutie Special. Once the Skull Kick found its mark, Yamashita followed up with two Crash Rabbit Heats to win the match and remain champion.

Yamashita thanked Mizuki for the match and said she is very special for TJPW. For that reason she wants to fight her again and continue working together. Mizuki tearfully shook Yamashita’s hand and left the ring quietly with Yuka Sakazaki. Yamashita then turned her attention to “GRAND PRINCESS ’22” at Sumo Hall on 19th March. There is only one person she wants to defend the title against that day. Shoko Nakajima! She walked out and told Yamashita she’s been ready for a long time. They both had their official debut match on a DDT pre-show in Sumo Hall back in 2013 so they both grew up as wrestlers together. For them to main even the same building is a dream come true. But Nakajima will aim to go beyond the dream and become the new Princess Champion!

In a rematch from two years ago, Maki Itoh has reclaimed the International Princess Title from Hikari Noa! The match spread out of the ring a couple of times where Itoh Body Slammed Noa onto a pile of chairs and later gave her a Hangman DDT onto the floor. Noa used a rope break to escape from the Itoh Punish and hit her with the Blizzard Suplex and Super Kick. But Itoh showed her guts and stuck up the middle finger to show she wasn’t beaten yet. The two fought up to the top rope where Itoh dropped Noa with another big DDT. That was the beginning of the end and Itoh made Noa tap to the Itoh Deluxe for the title change! Now that Itoh is the IP Champion again, she wants to go back to AEW and defend it against the woman she originally lost it to… Thunder Rosa! She also wants to fight Orange Cassidy for some reason. Noa is upset over the result because she thought she was the best fit for the IP Title. She also now doesn’t have anything to protect. Once again she’s lost another partner.

The rookie of the year Yuki Arai showed off some new moves against Yuka Sakazaki including a Sharpshooter! The match was minutes away from reaching its time limit when Sakazaki caught her opponent with the Magical Merry-Go-Round to get the win. She was full of praise for Arai afterwards. “Guts, seriousness, politeness, cuteness, Yuki Arai has it all. She is a stone that will become a diamond.” While Arai appreciates the praise she gets after every match, she knows it won’t make her stronger. She wants to expand her moveset and grow even more so she won’t lose her confidence.

Nodoka Tenma took the old costume out of the closet to become Nodoka-oneesan one last time before she graduates from TJPW this March. Before the match began she reminded the audience (and Haruna Neko) to sleep well, live long and eat their vegetables before leading everyone into the Ping Pong Pang Exercise dance. Raku & Pom Harajuku were enthusiastic for it, Harajuku in particular which led to Nodoka talking to her after the match. Since Nodoka-oneesan is going away, Pom Harajuku can take her place! After all the original plan for Harajuku when she debuted was to be the new version of that gimmick but she ended up turning into something of her own creation. Harajuku turned her offer down because she’s having too much fun as a “3 year old”, leaving Nodoka to cry next to Yuki Aino backstage. Marika Kobashi cheered her up by saying she could sense Tenma’s pride as Nodoka-oneesan shine through.

The team of Yuki Kamifuku & Nao Kakuta walked down to the ring wearing Uma Musume inspired shirts and headgear. They called their tag team Uma x3 (pronounced “Uma baba”). There was no horseplay against Daydream when the bell rang though. Kamifuku hit a Double Famouser to Daydream but they recovered. Rika Tatsumi got rid of Kakuta while Miu Watanabe stood toe to toe with Kamifuku. Another Famouser was avoided this time and Watanabe pinned Kamifuku with the Tear Drop. Tatsumi described the match as a nightmare where they had to fight a horse racing tag team. She thinks the fans saw it as a good daydream though.

For the third year in a row Shoko Nakajima and Hyper Misao faced off in a wacky stipulation match where their entire identities were put on the line. This time a stuffed Tiger Cub toy was held above the ring and the first woman to climb the ladder and grab it would win. Nakajima emptied a box of Godzilla toys all over the ring while Misao emptied a box of gacha balls making every bump in the ring even more dangerous. The end came when Nakajima hit a 619, Double Arm DDT and then the Diving Senton from the ladder. She then climbed back up to grab the Tiger Cub and win. The stipulation allowed Nakajima to rename Misao for a month but she declined to do so. The Max Heart Tournament is beginning later this week and Kyoraku Kyomei are entering it together. She thinks giving Misao a new temporary gimmick would only get in the way because both of them want to win the tournament.

On this day one year ago Arisu Endo had her debut match. Today she picked up her first win! Endo and Moka Miyamoto were the focus for the final few minutes of the opener. Endo hit Miyamoto with the Tsuruma Castle Knee Drop and then a Waterwheel Drop. She finished her off with a Modified Camel Clutch to get her 2022 off to a fantastic start. Suzume was Endo’s opponent for her debut and was happy to be her tag partner for her first win. She weirdly feels proud like a parent. Mahiro Kiryu was disappointed not to win her first match of the year while Miyamoto swore revenge on Endo for losing to her this way.

The newest addition to the TJPW introduced herself at the start of the show. Juria Nagano is a former world champion karate fighter with a 2nd black belt in Shito-ryu. She is currently active as both an actress and a nurse and has also gotten viral on TikTok. Nagano announced she will have her debut pro wrestling match at Sumo Hall on 19th March. She said she would like to make full use of her skills to liven up TJPW.
