1. Raimu Imai & Toui Kojima defeated Yuya Koroku & Yuki Ishida when Kojima pinned Ishida with the Kojima In Wonderland ~Kojima Wonderland~ (9:23).
2. Hardcore Match: Akane Fujita & Shunma Katsumata defeated Suzu Suzuki & Hideki Okatani when Katsumata pinned Okatani with the Sauna Trance Splash from the Ladder (19:37).
3. Yuki Ueno defeated Daichi Sato with the Blizzard Suplex (11:26).
4. You-sei☆Estrella defeated El Unicorn with the Styles Clash (11:55).
5. Ilusion & Tetsuya Endo defeated Vent Vert Jack & Naomi Yoshimura when Ilusion pinned Jack with the Modified Pedigree (18:58).

Ilusion got one over on Vent Vert Jack after Jack beat him on 26th December. This time around it was a tag match where Ilusion was teaming with Tetsuya Endo and Jack had Naomi Yoshimura as his partner. While Ilusion is pleased to win his first match of 2022, he still wants a singles rematch against Jack so he can get his full revenge over what happened in Yoyogi.

El Unicorn was disappointed with his loss to You-sei☆Estrella. He understands he needs find more opponents to wrestle against repeatedly so he can become stronger. His next match will be against Vent Vert Jack on the 16th January DDT show so he promises to practice hard until then.

Yuki Ueno praised Daichi Sato a lot for his performance today. He said the 13 year old looks like a baby but he has loads of enthusiasm and energy. Ueno is looking forward to see what Sato will learn from this point forward and he hopes his career won’t stumble.

There is still resentment between Akane Fujita and Shunma Katsumata over Fujita’s accusations that Katsumata steals her death match ideas. Katsumata’s denies it and explains he just gets the same ideas for using toy blocks that she does. Katsumata also liked wrestling against Suzu Suzuki and hopes the two of them will get a singles match somewhere. Suzuki wants that challenge because Katsumata scattered her box of bells over the floor before the match began. Hidaki Okatani thought the match was exciting but regrets the moments when his ideas backfired.

Earlier today Chris Brookes & Maki Itoh went to visit Minoru Suzuki at his clothing store Piledriver in Harajuku. Their intention was to initiate Suzuki as the newest member of The Itoh Respect Army before their match against Eruption. Despite Suzuki’s intimidating presence, the two introduced themselves to him and explained what was going on. Suzuki told them if they spent 10,000 yen in his shop then he would become friends with them. He gave advice to Itoh, telling her not to compare herself to others. He also said he will target Yukio Sakaguchi because he has known him since junior high. Brookes volunteered to fight Saki Akai because they are both tall and slim wrestlers who have good chemistry together in the ring. That leaves Itoh to deal with Kazusada Higuchi. Brookes told Itoh they both have iron heads so it will be an even fight. Itoh welcomed Suzuki into the Itoh Respect Army after making Brookes pay for their items. However Suzuki denies joining the unit because he is still Suzuki-gun.

Two years ago Gake No Fuchi Joshi held an unforgettable Ittenyon show where Brookes and Miyako Matsumoto had a nightmare of a Falls Count Anywhere Match. Matsumoto urgently decided to hold a show on 4th January again but this time it’s to welcome one of the newest joshi units onto the scene. A few weeks ago several wrestlers from Ice Ribbon announced their intentions to go leave the company and become a freelance death match unit called Prominence. One of the key members of this new unit is Suzu Suzuki who was built up by Ice Ribbon to be their young prodigy with a love for death match wrestling. A Hardcore Match against Brookes is exactly what she is looking for after taking her career in a new direction.

The other members of Prominence will also be on the show for other matches. The members are Risa Sera, Mochi Miyagi and Akane Fujita. Gake No Fuchi in the past hasn’t held more than two matches in a single show so I expect it to be a tag match with Matsumoto also involved. As you will see below the Prominence wrestlers have no problem with wrestling each other.

Prominence is also showing up on the next DDTeeeen!! show with Suzuki and Fujita taking part in a Hardcore Match. Suzuki will team with Hideki Okatani who recently took part in his first Hardcore Match thanks to Shunma Katsumata. Only makes sense for Katsumata to drag him into another here.

Now that Mizuki Watase has gotten his feet wet in Ganbare☆Pro he is getting straight to business. He is reviving RENEGADES with Shigehiro Irie! The tag team was originally a unit led by Irie during his 2018 main event run in DDT. However most of the unit was made up of foreign wrestlers so for now RENEGADES is coming back as just a tag team. Watase said he will DM the other members and ask them to come back once the pandemic is over. There is one question I have to ask. Does this mean Watase will wrestle in a suit again?

The Ganbare☆Joshi division is open to work with Color’s and that relationship continues here. Yuna Manase is looking for more joshi to appear on GanJo shows. YuuRI also just learned a harsh lesson being in the ring with SAKI.

Welcome the newest DDT brand to the table, DDTeeeen!! It’s a brand to present matches with teenage wrestlers from around the Japanese scene. The first show was built around the first two wrestlers to come from the project, El Unicorn (13 years old) and Ilusion (18 years old). In their debut match Unicorn pinned Ilusion but the opposite result happened when their first singles match took place. Today was the singles rematch. Unicorn hit his big moves like the Quebrada and Modified Double Knee Stomp. He also had the Modified Pedigree scouted and had counters for it. However, Ilusion used a Mexican Ace Crusher and dodged another Moonsault. He finally applied the Modified Pedigree but held on to apply a Butterfly Lock afterwards. Unicorn tried to reach the ropes but gave up in the end.

Ilusion didn’t have much about the match to reflect on. He was so focused on winning that he doesn’t remember what happened other than he won. He will never lose to El Unicorn or any other teenage wrestler out there! This claim drew out Vent Vert Jack. He introduced himself to Ilusion and then challenged him to a match. Ilusion accepted and warned he won’t just beat Jack, he will crush him. Backstage Ilusion was critical of DDTeeeen!! being built around El Unicorn instead of him. Ilusion has beaten him twice now and Unicorn has already gone through an injury. The face of DDTeeeen!! should be “The Phantom Of The Ring” Ilusion!

Vent Vert Jack (16 years old) won his match against You-sei☆Estrella (also 16) in a clash between the two wrestlers from MY WAY in Kyushu. The two showed respect to each other but still fought to win including some big dives from around ringside. Jack won with a Diving Double Knee Drop called the Tlaloc. Both wrestlers thanked DDT for giving their match a big platform.

HEAT-UP also provided some young wrestlers to participate on the show. Daichi Sato (13 years old) went up against MAO in a losing effort. Sato brought the fight with Shoulder Tackles and Middle Kicks. MAO turned the tables with a Knuckle Punch but Yukinori Matsui held him back to remind MAO his opponents is only 13. MAO switched to normal wrestling moves while threatening to show Sato “the fear of adults”. Sato countered the Michinoku Driver and unleashed more Middle Kicks, this time in a more fired up fashion. MAO stopped him with a Palm Strike and pinned him with a Diving Body Press. Sato asked DDT to give him a rematch if there is another DDTeeeen!! show. He will build his body so he won’t lose to the other DDTeeeen!! wrestlers.

The other HEAT-UP wrestlers fared better in the opening match. Raimu Imai (17 years old) & SHINGO beat the DDT team of Keigo Nakamura & Yuya Koroku. Imai used strong Chops and Dropkicks to keep his opponents at bay. SHINGO caught Koroku in a Bearhug and turned it into a Spinebuster. He then performed a Giant Swing and ended the match with a Crab Hold that made Koroku submit. Imai thanked the rest of the HEAT-UP roster for preparing him with secret training for today’s match.

A press conference was held for Riho, Shoko Nakajima, Suzume and Arisu Endo to talk about their match. The Twin Cam Monsters are looking forward to teaming together again and to do so in a big venue. Suzume faced against that team in her debut match back in 2019. She has gotten a lot of experience since then but understands it is nothing compared to the experience levels Riho & Nakajima are at. Suzume was also the opponent for Endo’s debut match so she thinks they have the chemistry to make a good team. Nakajima doesn’t expect to lose but predicts Suzume & Endo can overtake the Twin Cam Monsters in the future. Riho also said she is looking forward to the main event because she hasn’t seen Maki Itoh since they wrestled each other in AEW.

What is next for Daisuke Sasaki? His unit is gone, he declined to enter the D-Ou Grand Prix and he has a DDT Universal Title defence coming up. Apparently he has something up his sleeve. It might just be more drink and depression though.

After an emotional weekend, Konosuke Takeshita wants to see a bright future while he holds both the KO-D Openweight Title and KO-D Tag Team Titles. His motivations for defending the KO-D Title on his own is different from defending the KO-D Tag Titles with Shunma Katsumata. He wants to pursue many different possibilities while being a double champion.

Yumiko Hotta pinned Shinya Aoki with the help of a steel chain during yesterday’s pre-show match. She challenged him for the DDT Extreme Title afterwards. Aoki wanted the match to take place at a RIZIN show because they both fought there in the past. They have to settle for DDT instead.

Hotta’s disciple Riko Kawahata approached Sanshiro Takagi asking to wrestle on a DDT show. Hotta was displeased to see her student go out of line this way but Takagi decided to give her a chance. After watching footage of Kawahata in action, Takagi thinks she has great potential so he is booking her to fight Saki Akai. Hotta had a change of heart after Takagi explained that Kawahata’s behavior is very All Japan Women’s like. She understands his point and is now supporting Kawahata’s decision to enter DDT. Takagi is hoping for the match to be successful in order to promote more joshi matches in DDT.

DDT has decided to rename the Under Match to the Dark Match. They originally started calling the pre-show bouts the Dark Match but at some point switched to Under Match for reasons nobody can remember. So they’re going back to calling it the Dark Match.

The youngster project now called DDTeeeen!! holds its first show with all four students taking part. El Unicorn and Ilusion are quickly establishing a rivalry together but the other two wrestlers are also familiar with each other. Vent Vert Jack and You-sei☆Estrella are both 16 years old and are from the MY WAY promotion in Kyushu. Jack is 16cm tall, weighs 61kg and once held the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title at 9 years old. Estrella is 173cm tall, weighs 66kg and is a month younger than Jack. They both had their debut match against each other in 2012.

The opening day matches of the D-Ou Grand Prix 2021 II have been announced. Takeshita meets Yuji Okabayashi for the first time since he won the KO-D Tag Titles from him. Since he is entering the tournament as the champion, Takeshita wants to fight every match as if it is a title match. That means he cannot stand to lose even one match.

I’ll have a proper D-Ou Grand Prix post written up when the full schedule is revealed.

The ultimate fate of DDT is possibly on the line if Pheromones win the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles. Their lewd antics could get DDT into so much trouble it could spell the end of the company if they are not stopped! It’s up to Sanshiro Takagi, Yusuke Okada and a third person to save the day. If they lose then Takagi cannot order Pheromones to stop their bad behavior.

1. 3 Way Match: Akito defeated Yuki Ueno and Yukio Naya when Akito pinned Naya with a School Boy (8:50).
2. Special 6-Man Tag Team Match ~ DRAMATIC WARS: Yoshihiko, Mecha Mummy & Pokotan defeated Sanshiro Takagi, Toru Owashi & Antonio Honda when Yoshihiko pinned Honda with the Exploder Suplex (10:15).
3. Daisuke Sasaki, Tetsuya Endo, Soma Takao & Yuji Hino defeated Chris Brookes, Kazusada Higuchi, Yukio Sakaguchi & Yuya Koroku when Endo pinned Koroku with the Swivel Torture Rack Bomb (12:14).
4. Special Single Match ~ DDT Vs Ganbare☆Joshi Pro Wrestling: Saki Akai defeated Yuna Manase with the Rookie Award (11:19).
5. DDT Extreme Title – All Men Are Equal! Kazuki Hirata Death Match: Shinya Aoki (c) defeated Kazuki Hirata with the Miracle One Shot Cradle (12:20).

6. HARASHIMA, Naomi Yoshimura, MAO & Yuto Aijima defeated Jun Akiyama, Yusuke Okada, Hideki Okatani & Azul Dragon when HARASHIMA pinned Okatani with the Somato (10:41).
7. KO-D Tag Team Titles & Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title: Konosuke Takeshita & Shunma Katsumata (T/c) defeated Danshoku “Dandy” Dieno (I/c) & Yuki “Sexy” Iino when Katsumata pinned Dieno after the MADMAX (19:34).
*V2 for The 37KAMIINA. Shunma Katsumata becomes the 1,516th Iron Man Heavymetalweight champion.

The smell of victory was not coming from Pheromones today. Far from it. Konosuke Takeshita & Shunma Katsumata were ready to defend against their shenanigans and isolated Danshoku Dieno. After a brief absence from the ring, Yuki Iino returned with “Taboo” music playing over the speakers and he stripped off his wrestling gear. Dieno made Takeshita & Katsumata Lip Lock each other and Iino climbed the ropes to set up the Badonkadonk. However, Katsumata used a Casadora to drop Dieno onto the canvas and then Buzzsaw Kicked him, positioning Dieno beneath Iino. Iino didn’t know who was below him so he Badonkadonked his own partner! The 37KAMIINA got rid of Iino with Sandwich kicks and pinned Dieno with the MADMAX.

The result is a second successful KO-D Tag Team Titles defence for The 37KAMIINA. Also since Katsumata pinned Dieno it means Katsumata is the new Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion so he is now a double crown champion just like Takeshita! Their next challengers came out when HARASHIMA & Naomi Yoshimura entered the ring. HARASHIMA wants to take the Tag Titles back after Katsumata pinned him for it back in June. He was champions with Yuji Okabayashi then but this time he wants both titles to be with DISASTER BOX so Yoshimura will team with him. The challenge was accepted and will take place in Korakuen Hall on 12th October. Backstage Dieno warned that this is not the end of Pheromones because they will reveal the third member soon.

It was revealed that Yuto Aijima will be retiring from pro wrestling later this year and he asked DDT to host his final match in his hometown of Omuta, Fukuoka. Aijima’s been wrestling for over 25 years and now that he is in his mid-50’s it is time to hang up his boots. He had discussed these plans with Sanshiro Takagi for two years because of the Covid-19 restrictions prevented the show from taking place anywhere. But now they have a venue and when the date is cleared it can finally go ahead.

The rules of the DDT Extreme Title match forced Shinya Aoki to wrestle like Kazuki Hirata. So he literally became Hirata and wrestled in an identical costume. Hisaya Imabayashi and Toru Owashi were the judges and it was up to them to determine if Aoki was only using moves that Hirata could do. On the bright side this gave Hirata a fighting chance. On the negative side the judges spent the entire match insulting Hirata on the microphone while they described his abilities, or lack there of. Aoki put Hirata in a Sleeper Hold but was told to stop because Hirata would rather dance in this situation. Aoki put on the glasses and dance while Hirata put him in a School Boy for a nearfall. Aoki had to use the Miracle One Shot Cradle but Hirata kicked out of it. Hirata then used his authentic version of the move but Aoki used the momentum to roll back on top and sneak away with the win. Hirata praised Aoki for how accurate the imitation is and will challenge him again when Aoki spreads the image of Kazuki Hirata across the world!

Saki Akai got the win over Yuna Manase and told her how she felt afterwards. Manase is too loud and proud which annoys Akai. But they’re both from the same generation and their careers began around the same time. It is up to the likes of them to create new wrestling fans. If the passion of Ganbare☆Joshi works for Manase then she should continue down that path. Akai accepts it might not be the wrong way after all and if Manase ever becomes stronger, they will have a rematch. They had a pinkie swear to mark that promise.

Three of DDT’s most bizarre gimmicks were put together in a trio and the results were as weird as expected. Takagi noticed that Mecha Mummy was shorter than the last time it appeared. Yoshihiko didn’t do anything until it was provoked. Pokotan’s movement was familiar enough for Antonio Honda to think it was Mizuki Watase in disguise. Mummy was rendered useless thanks to cold spray and Yoshihiko was thrown out of ringside. But when Honda demanded Pokotan to give up, Pokotan shouted for help and Yoshihiko returned this time with a noticeably bigger “shadow” behind it. Yoshihiko cleared the ring and gave Honda the Exploder Suplex. The shadow then unmasked to reveal Jun Akiyama! He threw Yoshihiko on top of Honda for the pin to end the match. Akiyama had to join in with the team’s post-match interview backstage and had to ask if any of them could talk. Akiyama had to answer questions on their behalf until he got fed up and went home.

After intermission Takagi announced a new addition to the DDT Teenage Project. It is Vent Vert Jack from the MY WAY promotion in Kyushu. Jack is 16 years old but has been wrestling with his father Vent Vert Negro for almost a decade. He has been in DDT before and is even a former Iron Man Champion. He isn’t the only one joining the brand though. Jack said his MY WAY classmate and rival Yousei☆Estrella will also be joining the project. Backstage Takagi joked about knowing several child wrestlers across Japan and name dropped Mr. #6 from Nagoya.
