3. Yukio Sakaguchi & Hideki Okatani defeated Soma Takao & Yuya Koroku when Sakaguchi pinned Koroku with the God’s Right Knee (9:38).
4. Tetsuya Endo, Jun Akiyama & Yusuke Okada defeated HARASHIMA, Kazusada Higuchi & Takeshi Masada when Endo submitted Masada with the Yurikamome (12:39).
5. Nagano Specialty Special 6-Man Tag Match: Yasushi Kanda, Toru Owashi & Kazuki Hirata defeated MAO, Shunma Katsumata & Gota Ihashi when Hirata pinned Ihashi with La Magistral Cradle (13:13).
6. Special Tag Match: Yukio Naya & Chris Brookes defeated Yuji Hino & Makoto Oishi when Naya pinned Oishi with the Back Drop (16:47).

Yukio Naya scores one tag team win back from Yuji Hino as the two continue trying to build momentum for “JUDGEMENT 2023”. Naya says whenever he wrestles Hino he has so much fun he loses track of the time. Hino however said he is already tired of losing and only wants to win from now on.

Toi Kojima was not in good enough condition to wrestle today and was pulled from the show. Gota Ihashi took his place and tried to fit in with The 37KAMIINA by being all dressed up for a sauna at the start of the show. He was in his normal gear for the match but lost by missing a Moonsault and then getting pinned by Kazuki Hirata. Hirata got to celebrate by convincing Toru Owashi & Yasushi Kanda to dance with him after the match. Kanda thought today’s match was supposed to be serious but he admitted to having a lot of fun out there.

One week from now Takeshi Masada will have a singles match against Jun Akiyama. He hopes that his performances this weekend would catch Akiyama’s attention but he feels like he failed to do that. The BURNING trio he fought today seem to agree. Akiyama said Masada needs to do more when they fight each other next week. Tetsuya Endo thinks Masada has to come at them with the intention of breaking them. Akiyama agrees and suggested if Masada can make Yusuke Okada’s face look three times uglier than it is now then he will have succeeded.

Pheromones were left to fight two against three after Ihashi was moved up the card and out of their match. Akito & Keigo Nakamura caught Yuki Iino underneath the ring and stripped him out of his costume. Iino had to crawl out from under the ring naked and leave Danshoku Dieno on his own. But Iino returned with barely a little bit of clothing on which was enough to keep the match going. He used a submission version of the Kamigoye to beat Kazuma Sumi.

Everything Other Than The Big Show Lineups, Shino Suzuki Debut

A lot to get through here. I’ll save the “GRAND PRINCESS ’23” and “JUDGEMENT 2023” for the next post just to give the pages some breathing room. There will be so much to write about between the two “Big Match” events, Wrestlemania Weekend, a whole bunch of debuting wrestlers and all of the other international bookings to keep track of. Staying up to date with the all of the news and shows in the next month is probably going to kill me.

Takato Nakano was convinced he would be on it. Maybe winning the Union MAX Title away from Kodaka tomorrow will lead to a last minute change of plan.

Mizuki continues going through a… um… well calling it a murderer’s row of opponents isn’t accurate given how little a challenge they’ve given her so far. More like a jaywalker’s path? That’s kind of the level of crime Pom Harajuku would commit I guess.

Daisy Monkey are back teaming up to take on the rookie pairing of Wakana Uehara & HIMAWARI.

Maki Itoh is missing the show because she will be in America wrestling for GCW that day.

The third trainee in the recent class of five is ready to make his debut. Rukiya Ikeda is from Toyonaka City, Osaka and was born on 25th February, 2001. He is 177cm tall and weighs 80kg. His athletic background is in baseball and grappling.

Naruki Doi and Kotaro Suzuki will both be on the show.

It means Sasadango, Ueno & Shinya Aoki now have to face BURNING again but if they win here then they will have beaten every member of the group!

A press conference held earlier today had Miu Watanabe and Janai Kai meeting each other face to face. She can still feel her potential to grow as champion so she cannot lose it tomorrow. Kai said it took her five years to finally wrestle in Japan and winning the IP Title tomorrow is part of her dream. She is friends with Watanabe’s previous challenger Trish Adora and has already gotten advice from her on how to deal with Watanabe’s power. Kai also warned the champion that she is wearing black today because this press conference is also a funeral for Watanabe’s title reign! Watanabe tried to respond in English, telling Kai “No!” and “Not!” over and over. She also tried to say tomorrow but kept stuttering. Mr. HAKU figured out Watanabe was actually saying “to-tomorrow” as in the day after tomorrow.

Tetsuya Endo will be off of this weekend’s shows due to illness. He tested negative for covid though so he will be back and ready in time for Keiji Muto’s retirement show on Tuesday. Yukio Sakaguchi moves up from the 4 Way Tag to replace Endo in Match #4. Gota Ihashi now takes up the empty slot in the 4 Way, with some teams mixed around to fit him in.

The last two block matches in the D GENERATIONS CUP are must-wins for everyone involved. Whoever wins their match goes through to the final. Toi Kojima has a little extra wriggle room because a draw against Takeshi Masada will also send him through. No such tiebreaker is there for Hideki Okatani Vs Yuya Koroku though.

I thought I blogged about this already but I didn’t. DDT and Tokyo Joshi Pro are getting a match each on Keiji Muto’s retirement show at the Tokyo Dome next week. It will no doubt be the biggest wrestling event taking place in Japan this year. DDT’s match pits The 37KAMIINA against Endo and the three young wrestlers who best represents DDT’s future. TJPW are grouping together their four pillars to take on the generation tier that are right below them.

By the time February is over either HARASHIMA or Yukio Naya will be the No. 1 Contender for the KO-D Openweight Title. Once March begins the No. 1 Contender will begin facing off with Yuji Hino to build up their title match on the 21st. Whoever wins the D GENERATIONS CUP will also get bumped up the card too with a chance to fight both Hino & Sakaguchi in this tag match.

Saki Akai has been doing a good job keeping the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title in her grasp. She hasn’t been pinned or submitted since winning the title back in November.

Kazusada Higuchi & Naomi Yoshimura are repeating their claims that there is a new wind blowing in DDT. They want to prove it by winning the KO-D Tag Team Titles from MAO & Asuka but know it won’t be easy. MAO wants everyone to know that a match that would have main evented DNA shows years ago is now headlining DDT events. He and Shunma Katsumata have their own championship aspirations coming up with MAO defending the KO-D Tag Titles and Shunma Katsumata challenging for the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles on the same show. Yuki Ueno & Toi Kojima share that goal because they want to raise the heat in DDT.

Yasushi Kanda got dragged into doing Pheromones shenanigans. He refused for most of the match but gave in at the end and positioned himself in the corner with his bare backside sticking out. But as soon as he did that Yuki Iino pinned Kazuki Hirata and Pheromones exited the ring celebrating, leaving Kanda hanging. DISASTER BOX all shamed Kanda afterwards, telling him he can’t possibly go back to Kobe after doing that. Kanda said if he can’t go back then he will take responsibility. Masaaki Mochizuki later found out about it on Twitter and wasn’t happy to see Kanda was wearing a M3K shirt.

Yusuke Okada is threatening to take the DDT Universal Title from Masahiro Takanashi on 24th July and take the championship in a different direction.

Mizuki Watase’s homecoming didn’t go the way he wanted it to. The main event ended with him submitted to Konosuke Takeshita. He was given some kudos by Takeshita afterwards and he is doing his best. But Takeshita also pointed out that everybody in DDT is doing their best. Jun Akiyama told the rest of Junretsu that they have to be more determined. He said that according to the unit’s leader, Junretsu will disband if they don’t win the KO-D 8-Man Tag Team Titles on 12th October. The leader Makoto Oishi wasn’t certain he said that so Akiyama made him decide if that is the ultimatum. Oishi confirmed they will split up if they lose.

The KO-D Tag Team Title challengers HARASHIMA & Naomi Yoshimura showed their strength as a team by beating Yuji Hino & Yukio Naya. They don’t have long to wait until they take on Takeshita & Shunma Katsumata for the belts.

The alleged big draw for this show was Yasushi Kanda. He and Toru Owashi go way back which is why Owashi wanted their tag match today to be a big occasion. He also told the production team not to play “TOKYO GO!” when Kanda was in the ring. Pheromones declared they were going to render DRAGONGATE useless which led to both teams agreeing to wrestle the match under DRAGONGATE tag rules. Kazuki Hirata tried to impress Kanda but made the mistake of putting on the Hirata Go glasses. As soon as “TOKYO GO!” hit, Kanda attacked Hirata and hit the John Woo Dropkick. He calmed down and took control of the match against Antonio Honda. After charging up his arm in Danshoku Dieno’s “Hell Gate”, Kanda pinned Honda with the Diving Anal Elbow Drop. Backstage Owashi and Kanda asked each other if they should bring Hirata over to DRAGONGATE.

Ilusion got some more ring time to prepare for the DDTeeeen!! show on 27th October. He thinks getting this extra experience while El Unicorn is absent gives him a big advantage for their match on the 27th. Tetsuya Endo gave approval to Ilusion’s comments.

Everybody on the DDT roster are still confused over Daisuke Sasaki’s sudden babyface turn. He is also studying Isami Kodaka for their DDT Universal Title match on Tuesday.

The newly babyfaced Daisuke Sasaki sent out the call. His planned DDT Universal Title match was cancelled so he is willing to defend the belt against anybody at Korakuen Hall next week. Isami Kodaka answered the challenge, offering to fight on behalf of his fellow Sento Minzoku stablemate Minoru Fujita. Kodaka also previously challenged Sasaki for the Universal Title in a Hardcore 3 Way Match last June. The heel Sasaki wouldn’t have taken this challenge. But he’s a babyface now so he is all for it and thinks it is destiny to fight Kodaka again. His goal is to deliver an exciting match, win fairly then wake up early tomorrow morning and shine in the sun.

Konosuke Takeshita’s goal for the rest of 2021 is to remain a double champion until the end of the year and to also win the D-Ou Grand Prix. He wants to finish the year with as many wins as he can get. HARASHIMA thinks DISASTER BOX needs to win the KO-D Tag Team Titles because championships are a symbol of strength. Shunma Katsumata pinned HARASHIMA to win the belt so he cannot lose it back to him. He also thinks Naomi Yoshimura isn’t as strong in tag matches as he is in singles. He is basing this opinion on their time wrestling each other in DNA.

Tetsu Inada will be at the show to do guest commentary. The voice actor previously had a starring role on the recent Hiragana Muscle shows.

A press conference was held for Riho, Shoko Nakajima, Suzume and Arisu Endo to talk about their match. The Twin Cam Monsters are looking forward to teaming together again and to do so in a big venue. Suzume faced against that team in her debut match back in 2019. She has gotten a lot of experience since then but understands it is nothing compared to the experience levels Riho & Nakajima are at. Suzume was also the opponent for Endo’s debut match so she thinks they have the chemistry to make a good team. Nakajima doesn’t expect to lose but predicts Suzume & Endo can overtake the Twin Cam Monsters in the future. Riho also said she is looking forward to the main event because she hasn’t seen Maki Itoh since they wrestled each other in AEW.

What is next for Daisuke Sasaki? His unit is gone, he declined to enter the D-Ou Grand Prix and he has a DDT Universal Title defence coming up. Apparently he has something up his sleeve. It might just be more drink and depression though.

After an emotional weekend, Konosuke Takeshita wants to see a bright future while he holds both the KO-D Openweight Title and KO-D Tag Team Titles. His motivations for defending the KO-D Title on his own is different from defending the KO-D Tag Titles with Shunma Katsumata. He wants to pursue many different possibilities while being a double champion.

Yumiko Hotta pinned Shinya Aoki with the help of a steel chain during yesterday’s pre-show match. She challenged him for the DDT Extreme Title afterwards. Aoki wanted the match to take place at a RIZIN show because they both fought there in the past. They have to settle for DDT instead.

Hotta’s disciple Riko Kawahata approached Sanshiro Takagi asking to wrestle on a DDT show. Hotta was displeased to see her student go out of line this way but Takagi decided to give her a chance. After watching footage of Kawahata in action, Takagi thinks she has great potential so he is booking her to fight Saki Akai. Hotta had a change of heart after Takagi explained that Kawahata’s behavior is very All Japan Women’s like. She understands his point and is now supporting Kawahata’s decision to enter DDT. Takagi is hoping for the match to be successful in order to promote more joshi matches in DDT.

DDT has decided to rename the Under Match to the Dark Match. They originally started calling the pre-show bouts the Dark Match but at some point switched to Under Match for reasons nobody can remember. So they’re going back to calling it the Dark Match.

The youngster project now called DDTeeeen!! holds its first show with all four students taking part. El Unicorn and Ilusion are quickly establishing a rivalry together but the other two wrestlers are also familiar with each other. Vent Vert Jack and You-sei☆Estrella are both 16 years old and are from the MY WAY promotion in Kyushu. Jack is 16cm tall, weighs 61kg and once held the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title at 9 years old. Estrella is 173cm tall, weighs 66kg and is a month younger than Jack. They both had their debut match against each other in 2012.

The opening day matches of the D-Ou Grand Prix 2021 II have been announced. Takeshita meets Yuji Okabayashi for the first time since he won the KO-D Tag Titles from him. Since he is entering the tournament as the champion, Takeshita wants to fight every match as if it is a title match. That means he cannot stand to lose even one match.

I’ll have a proper D-Ou Grand Prix post written up when the full schedule is revealed.

The ultimate fate of DDT is possibly on the line if Pheromones win the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles. Their lewd antics could get DDT into so much trouble it could spell the end of the company if they are not stopped! It’s up to Sanshiro Takagi, Yusuke Okada and a third person to save the day. If they lose then Takagi cannot order Pheromones to stop their bad behavior.

Injuries from during the week cause some last minute changes to the card. Yuji Hino has an ankle injury and cannot wrestle for the time being. He will still be in attendance to see DAMNATION’s final match. Yukio Sakaguchi has a herniated lumbar disc and will not be at the show at all. Naomi Yoshimura takes his place in Masahiro Takanashi’s return match.

Morning Musume member Haruna Iikubo will be accompanying the Humanity team as the character she plays in Record Of Ragnarok.

Owashi gets his chance to take back what he thinks belongs to him. He has history with the UWA World 6-Man Tag Team Titles and so do his tag partners for the match. Owashi held the titles 3 times, Shuji Kondo is a five time champion and Takuya Sugawara had it twice. It’s an Aagan Iisou reunion!

Takuya Nomura is guaranteed to be wrestling on the show even if he loses the IRON FIST Tag Titles at Big Japan before then.
