2. 2 Vs 3 Handicap Match: Yuki “Sexy” Iino & Danshoku “Dandy” Dieno defeated Akito, Keigo Nakamura & Kazuma Sumi when Iino submitted Sumi with the TRUE LOVE (10:20).
3. Yukio Sakaguchi & Hideki Okatani defeated Soma Takao & Yuya Koroku when Sakaguchi pinned Koroku with the God’s Right Knee (9:38).
4. Tetsuya Endo, Jun Akiyama & Yusuke Okada defeated HARASHIMA, Kazusada Higuchi & Takeshi Masada when Endo submitted Masada with the Yurikamome (12:39).
5. Nagano Specialty Special 6-Man Tag Match: Yasushi Kanda, Toru Owashi & Kazuki Hirata defeated MAO, Shunma Katsumata & Gota Ihashi when Hirata pinned Ihashi with La Magistral Cradle (13:13).
6. Special Tag Match: Yukio Naya & Chris Brookes defeated Yuji Hino & Makoto Oishi when Naya pinned Oishi with the Back Drop (16:47).

Yukio Naya scores one tag team win back from Yuji Hino as the two continue trying to build momentum for “JUDGEMENT 2023”. Naya says whenever he wrestles Hino he has so much fun he loses track of the time. Hino however said he is already tired of losing and only wants to win from now on.

Toi Kojima was not in good enough condition to wrestle today and was pulled from the show. Gota Ihashi took his place and tried to fit in with The 37KAMIINA by being all dressed up for a sauna at the start of the show. He was in his normal gear for the match but lost by missing a Moonsault and then getting pinned by Kazuki Hirata. Hirata got to celebrate by convincing Toru Owashi & Yasushi Kanda to dance with him after the match. Kanda thought today’s match was supposed to be serious but he admitted to having a lot of fun out there.

One week from now Takeshi Masada will have a singles match against Jun Akiyama. He hopes that his performances this weekend would catch Akiyama’s attention but he feels like he failed to do that. The BURNING trio he fought today seem to agree. Akiyama said Masada needs to do more when they fight each other next week. Tetsuya Endo thinks Masada has to come at them with the intention of breaking them. Akiyama agrees and suggested if Masada can make Yusuke Okada’s face look three times uglier than it is now then he will have succeeded.

Pheromones were left to fight two against three after Ihashi was moved up the card and out of their match. Akito & Keigo Nakamura caught Yuki Iino underneath the ring and stripped him out of his costume. Iino had to crawl out from under the ring naked and leave Danshoku Dieno on his own. But Iino returned with barely a little bit of clothing on which was enough to keep the match going. He used a submission version of the Kamigoye to beat Kazuma Sumi.

Two debuts are in the top two matches of this show. The Up Up Girls get the entire main event to themselves for Shino Suzuki’s first match. Toga is in the match before taking on Miyu Yamashita.

Toga is sticking with the name for her debut, switching the spelling from Hiragana (とうが) to Kanji (凍雅). It is similar to what Raku did with her name when she turned pro. Toga has been a pro wrestling fan since elementary school and was inspired to become a wrestler after seeing Saki Akai. She was born in Kanagawa on 27th February, 2003. She is 168cm tall.

The weird thing is Senga currently holds the TTT Indie Unified 6-Man Tag Team Titles with two other wrestlers so it’s not as if he’s had no success away from Speed Of Sounds.

Everything Other Than The Big Show Lineups, Shino Suzuki Debut

A lot to get through here. I’ll save the “GRAND PRINCESS ’23” and “JUDGEMENT 2023” for the next post just to give the pages some breathing room. There will be so much to write about between the two “Big Match” events, Wrestlemania Weekend, a whole bunch of debuting wrestlers and all of the other international bookings to keep track of. Staying up to date with the all of the news and shows in the next month is probably going to kill me.

That’s kind of the level of crime Pom Harajuku would commit I guess.

Daisy Monkey are back teaming up to take on the rookie pairing of Wakana Uehara & HIMAWARI.

Maki Itoh is missing the show because she will be in America wrestling for GCW that day.

The third trainee in the recent class of five is ready to make his debut. Rukiya Ikeda is from Toyonaka City, Osaka and was born on 25th February, 2001. He is 177cm tall and weighs 80kg. His athletic background is in baseball and grappling.

Naruki Doi and Kotaro Suzuki will both be on the show.

Akiyama has picked Yusuke Okada & Yuya Koroku to be his partners for the match. It means Sasadango, Ueno & Shinya Aoki now have to face BURNING again but if they win here then they will have beaten every member of the group!

A press conference held earlier today had Miu Watanabe and Janai Kai meeting each other face to face. She can still feel her potential to grow as champion so she cannot lose it tomorrow. Kai said it took her five years to finally wrestle in Japan and winning the IP Title tomorrow is part of her dream. She is friends with Watanabe’s previous challenger Trish Adora and has already gotten advice from her on how to deal with Watanabe’s power. Kai also warned the champion that she is wearing black today because this press conference is also a funeral for Watanabe’s title reign! Watanabe tried to respond in English, telling Kai “No!” and “Not!” over and over. She also tried to say tomorrow but kept stuttering. Mr. HAKU figured out Watanabe was actually saying “to-tomorrow” as in the day after tomorrow.

Tetsuya Endo will be off of this weekend’s shows due to illness. He tested negative for covid though so he will be back and ready in time for Keiji Muto’s retirement show on Tuesday. Yukio Sakaguchi moves up from the 4 Way Tag to replace Endo in Match #4. Gota Ihashi now takes up the empty slot in the 4 Way, with some teams mixed around to fit him in.

The last two block matches in the D GENERATIONS CUP are must-wins for everyone involved. Whoever wins their match goes through to the final. Toi Kojima has a little extra wriggle room because a draw against Takeshi Masada will also send him through. No such tiebreaker is there for Hideki Okatani Vs Yuya Koroku though.

TJPW are grouping together their four pillars to take on the generation tier that are right below them.

Kazusada Higuchi & Naomi Yoshimura are repeating their claims that there is a new wind blowing in DDT. They want to prove it by winning the KO-D Tag Team Titles from MAO & Asuka but know it won’t be easy. MAO wants everyone to know that a match that would have main evented DNA shows years ago is now headlining DDT events. He and Shunma Katsumata have their own championship aspirations coming up with MAO defending the KO-D Tag Titles and Shunma Katsumata challenging for the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles on the same show. Yuki Ueno & Toi Kojima share that goal because they want to raise the heat in DDT.

Yasushi Kanda got dragged into doing Pheromones shenanigans. He refused for most of the match but gave in at the end and positioned himself in the corner with his bare backside sticking out. But as soon as he did that Yuki Iino pinned Kazuki Hirata and Pheromones exited the ring celebrating, leaving Kanda hanging. DISASTER BOX all shamed Kanda afterwards, telling him he can’t possibly go back to Kobe after doing that. Kanda said if he can’t go back then he will take responsibility. Masaaki Mochizuki later found out about it on Twitter and wasn’t happy to see Kanda was wearing a M3K shirt.

Yusuke Okada is threatening to take the DDT Universal Title from Masahiro Takanashi on 24th July and take the championship in a different direction.

Not only has Antonio Honda proved he deserves to be in the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles match, it is now the main event too!

An extra rule is added to the DDT Extreme Title match after Danshoku Dieno warned that something bad could happen to the special referee Sanshiro Takagi and prevent him from doing his job. Akito and Hisaya Imabayashi are taking the threat seriously and came up with a backup plan. If Takagi cannot do his refereeing duties during the match for any reason then anyone who puts on the referee shirt will get to act as one! Imabayashi also announced the show will not air live on Wrestle Universe because of this match. If the match gets too out of control it will be cut from the VOD! Another thing to note about this match is where the inspiration for the match came from. According to the DDT website, the 3 Vs 1 Handicap stipulation is a call back to Antonio Inoki Vs Rusher Kimura, Animal Hamaguchi & Isamu Teranishi series from 1982 and 1983.

Yukio Naya is out of action with a fever and is off this weekend’s shows. Soma Takao replaces him on tomorrow’s card.

Before travelling to Japan, Thunder Rosa sent a video message to Tokyo Joshi Pro. In the video Rosa said if Miyu Yamashita beats her she will invite Yamashita back to AEW to have a rematch for the AEW Women’s Title. You know, it sounds very similar to what happened when Chris Jericho gave Hiroshi Tanahashi the same challenge at Wrestle Kingdom in 2020. Remember that is what inadvertently created the Forbidden Door phenomenon Just something to think about.

Juria Nagano is adding to her moveset after coming to the realization that the Brazilian Kick became too predictable for her opponents to see coming. She came up with a kicking combination based on her own Karate skill mixed with techniques she learned from watching videos of K-1 fighters and kickboxers on Youtube. For the moment she is calling this move the Dosun Dosun because that is the sound it makes (thud, thud) when she hits the opponent. She also learned from watching THE MATCH between Tenshin Nasukawa and Takeru, particularly how to fight as an underdog.

The changes caused by Kazusada Higuchi & Naomi Yoshimura graduating from their units and forming a tag team together is already being felt. Several matches for next week’s show have been swapped around now that Higuchi is no longer in Eruption and Yoshimura is no longer with DISASTER BOX.

Sanshiro Takagi has made himself the Special Referee for the DDT Extreme Title match. He has no power to be an active competitor in the match because only the champion Yuki Iino could make that decision. However every match needs a referee and Takagi got permission from Hisaya Imabayashi to be that referee. This is all part of his plan to destroy Pheromones once and for all. A potential roadblock to this plan is Akito. He no longer wants to be involved with this feud and is only concerned about becoming the Extreme Champion again on his own terms. Takagi tipping the odds in Akito’s favour or even straight up handing him the victory probably won’t be tolerated by the challenger.

Daisuke Sasaki has said he will quit pro wrestling if Antonio Honda makes him laugh during the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles match. Whether or not he lives up to this idea remains to be seen.

And here is the reason why. The new tag team have challenged MAO & Asuka for the KO-D Tag Team Titles. Yoshimura wants to strike while the iron is hot and is treating this match as their only chance to win the belts.

Masahiro Takanashi and Yusuke Okada are currently arguing over who is the more negative personality in DDT. Neither wants to admit the other is more miserable then themselves for some reason.

For the first time ever Jun Akiyama and Saki Akai are teaming together! It is also going to be Akiyama’s first time doing a Mixed Tag Match. This is Akai’s idea because she thinks teaming with Akiyama will be a great way to become a stronger wrestler. 6. Shigehiro Irie & Mizuki Watase defeated Konosuke Takeshita & Akito when Irie pinned Akito with the Beast Bomber (16:38).

Shigehiro Irie’s momentum since coming back continues to grow and now it’s finding its way over to Mizuki Watase. Irie’s new partner threw Konosuke Takeshita away with a German Suplex while Irie hit Akito with the Beast Bomber. After the match Irie said he won the match thanks to Watase’s effort. Watase pointed out that the last time he wrestled in Nagano he promised the fans he would return as a champion. That didn’t happen but he has become stronger and he wasn’t going to give up! Irie & Watase were given a prize pack of red wine by the show sponsors for the victory. After the show, Irie promised to be at the top of DDT and Watase will grow into a stronger wrestler with him. Irie then said he was bringing a friend from America over to Japan soon. He calls his friend “The Gift”.

Since the show was in Nagano that meant Toru Owashi was the big attraction in his hometown. Super Sasadango Machine took advantage of this by gathering together a portion of the audience to mob Owashi for handshakes and autographs outside the ring during the match. Owashi was too busy handling his fans to wrestle but his team still won the match. Kazuki Hirata pinned Sasadango to win the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title for the finish. Hisaya Imabayashi hated the result because the big star who sold most of the tickets didn’t get to do anything even though his side won. Imabayashi demanded the match to restart. Owashi did get to wrestle this time but Sasadango pinned Hirata to win back the Iron Man Title. Sasadango won with the Triangle Of Zenkoji, a team-up version of the Lehmann Shock.

Keisuke Ishii promoted his upcoming match against Ken Ohka for the Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title on the 28th April Ganbare☆Wrestling show. KUDO didn’t have any of the other Shuten-dōji members with him today to drink with so he asked Ishii to join him for a toast. Ishii agreed and drank from a bottle of tea.

Kazusada Higuchi described Kota Umeda’s moves as intense during the 4 Way Match. He talked about feeling electricity run through his whole body whenever Umeda Kicked him. To Higuchi that is an amazing experience that makes him nostalgic for their matches together in DNA. Higuchi is looking forward to defending the KO-D Tag Team Titles against Umeda soon. Umeda thinks he has momentum but MAO needs to be with him on the same level if they are going to win the titles.

Umeda was so proud of his match with MAO in the Maji Manji final that he asked him to challenge for the KO-D Tag Team Titles together.

So far both episodes of the show have featured Danshoku Dino getting hit in the ass with a baseball bat by the weekly guest. He tried to attack the last guest Ririka Suto but Miyu Yamashita rescued her. That’s the set up for Dino versus Yamashita with the same baseball bat stipulation.
