4. Special Tag Match: Keisuke Ishii & Soma Takao defeated Shuichiro Katsumura & Shota when Takao pinned Shota with the Official Endless Waltz (16:08).

Soma Takao got one over on Shota in the latest match of their rivalry by catching him in the Official Endless Waltz for the three count. After the match ended Shota said he wanted to show his growth as a pro wrestler when he came back from America. That’s why he constantly wrestled against Takao instead of reforming ROMANCE DAWN with him. However the recent announcement of the Spirit Of Ganbare Tag Team Titles being established made Shota rethink his plans. He wants to win those belts with Takao! ROMANCE DAWN are going to be back together. But before they do Shota and Takao agreed to have a singles match against each other to settle their rivalry once and for all.

Mizuki Watase got some revenge on Shinichiro Tominaga for what happened earlier today. On the first show Tominaga made Watase submit in the main event. Here on the second show Watase got Tominaga to pass out to a Wrist-Clutch Front Neck Lock! Afterwards Watase brought up the Spirit Of Ganbare Title match happening in two days time. He said nobody comes to Ganbare☆Pro shows wanting to see the wrestlers think about tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. Any wrestler with that mindset does not deserve the title. Watase’s arm was already hurt but now so is Tominaga’s. Will Tominaga be willing to risk his arm to become the champion?

When the second show began, Shuichiro Katsumura said he was feeling tired but realised that there were fans in the audience who paid to see all three Ganpro shows today. According to him the ticket sales mean those fans are supporting the Japanese economy!

4d. Shinichiro Tominaga eliminated Mizuki Watase with a Double Arm Lock (21:28).

The winning team in the main event were inspired by Keiji Muto’s retirement to do their best today. At the start of the show Yumehito Imanari said it is now up to himself, Keisuke Ishii & Shinichiro Tominaga to become the new Three Musketeers that will take charge of a wrestling world without Muto. There was a slight problem with that idea because Ishii grew up watching All Japan and New Japan was not on TV where Tominaga lived.

That didn’t matter in the end because Tominaga was the last man standing, submitting Mizuki Watase to win. After the match Tominaga told Watase not to feel ashamed of losing because today he fought Super Amateur 4 Tominaga! In two days time they will fight each other for the Spirit Of Ganbare Title in Takashimadaira Ward Community Center. Tominaga will win the title there and transform into Super Amateur 6 Tominaga!

1. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title – Battle Royal: Penelope Ford (c) Vs X
2. Special Tag Match: Jun Akiyama & Yusuke Okada Vs Tetsuya Endo & Kotaro Suzuki
3. Special Single Match: MAO Vs Ryota Nakatsu
4. Special Tag Match: Yuji Hino & Yukio Sakaguchi Vs 26/2 Main Event Winner & D GENERATIONS CUP Winner

The addition of Ryota Nakatsu to Harimao has fuelled some DNA nostalgia among the DDT roster. MAO was one of Nakatsu’s regular opponents on that brand so it’s time to see them fight each other for the first time in a long time.

An all BURNING tag match is being put together to build up Jun Akiyama’s upcoming DDT Extreme Title defence against Kotaro Suzuki.

Whoever is the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion on 4th March is supposed to defend the title in a Battle Royal that day. Penelope Ford is currently the champion but she’ll be going back to AEW with Kip Sabian after the 26th February Korakuen Hall show. If she is unable to return to DDT in time then the Battle Royal will go ahead with nothing on the line. DDT will then be left to figure out how they can get their belt back fair and square.

6. International Princess Title: Miu Watanabe (c) Vs Rika Tatsumi
7. Princess Of Princess Title: Yuka Sakazaki (c) Vs Mizuki

A press conference was held today to promote two of the big matches for the show. Both Yuka Sakazaki and Mizuki admitted to have mixed feelings over having to fight each other for the Princess Of Princess Title. Mizuki has a lot of respect for her friend but has now found herself wanting to be the one who carries Tokyo Joshi Pro on her back by winning the Princess Title. Sakazaki does not want to wrestle Mizuki but given how much they mean to each other she understands she has no choice but to do it. She noticed their bond has changed over time since their match at “WRESTLE PRINCESS” two and a half years ago. Out of the ring everything between them is normal when they are together but recently inside the ring their emotions have become more complicated during their preview tag matches. With that being said, both of them say The Magical Sugar Rabbits are staying together no matter who wins. In fact, they believe they will become an even more exciting tag team after they are done fighting each other.

The other match talked about was Yuki Arai’s uphill battle against Aja Kong. Arai has spent a lot of time thinking since last week’s tag match. She’s been trying to do what she can but still feels like she cannot reach her goal yet. There is still a month left for her to prepare so she wants to have a match that will leave an impact both on herself and also Kong too. Kong said she is not concerned about thinking what it is like as a “monster” to fight an idol. If you stand in front of Kong in the ring then you are a pro wrestler in her eyes and she is not taking Arai lightly. She knows Arai is thinking of ways to counter her most famous moves so Kong too is thinking about how to counter Arai’s moveset. It will be wrestler against wrestler at Ariake Coliseum so Kong wants to win!

0. Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling Offer Match – TJPW Spark: Yuka Sakazaki, Miyu Yamashita, Shoko Nakajima & Rika Tatsumi defeated Mizuki, Maki Itoh, Miu Watanabe & Yuki Arai when Sakazaki pinned Arai with the Magical Girl Chicken Dude (11:38).
2. DDT Pro Wrestling Offer Match – Dramatic Dream Future: MAO, Shunma Katsumata, Yuki Ueno & Toi Kojima defeated Tetsuya Endo, Hideki Okatani, Yuya Koroku & Takeshi Masada when Ueno pinned Masada with the WR (9:06).

Without a doubt the biggest wrestling show to take place in Japan this year took place today with Keiji Muto retiring at the Tokyo Dome. On the undercard there were matches put together by several companies including DDT and Tokyo Joshi Pro. The DDT match presented The 37KAMIINA taking on Tetsuya Endo leading a team of DDT’s future stars in the making. For Endo the match gave him an opportunity to be on the big stage for the first time since the concussion incident at “CYBERFIGHT FESTIVAL 2022” last June. His Burning Star Press was dodged by MAO but he was able to make up for it by hitting the Sasuke Special into an Overhead Kick later on. Takeshi Masada also stepped up to the plate and brought the fight to Yuki Ueno. That moment was stopped with a German Suplex followed by Ueno’s pinpoint Dropkick. Ueno then got the pin by giving Masada the WR to give The 37KAMIINA the victory.

Backstage Ueno told reporters unfamiliar with The 37KAMIINA that the group loves to have hot matches that transforms arenas into saunas. For Muto’s retirement at the Tokyo Dome they really wanted to have a match as passionate as the occasion. Because of that MAO admitted everybody in the match were feeling nervous. Even if they made the atmosphere even just a little bit more electric he hopes the match helped build the show up towards its massive main event. Toi Kojima had a Konosuke Takeshita shirt with him to represent Takeshita in spirit so in a way all five members of the unit were together at the Tokyo Dome. Shunma Katsumata told everyone to keep doing their best so some day DDT will have their own proper show in the Dome. Endo noted that his team was not a unit at all but everyone got to see how hard they work on a regular basis. Yuya Koroku said the match is a great source of inspiration for his future in wrestling. Hideki Okatani isn’t as positive because he felt he did not give his best effort out there. The experience will fuel him to get better though. Out of all of the wrestlers involved, the match may have left the most impact on Takeshi Masada. The rookie said he will never forget the sight of the ceiling he had to stare at after he lost the match.

The pre-show featured an 8-Woman Tag Match put together by TJPW. Everyone got their own moment in the spotlight in the centre of the ring. Maki Itoh demonstrated her hard head, Miu Watanabe did the Giant Swing, Rika Tatsumi threw some Dragon Screws, Mizuki landed the Whirling Candy, Miyu Yamashita used her Return Crash kick from the corner, Yuki Arai was able to do the Full Nelson Buster and Shoko Nakajima wiped out a group of wrestlers outside with a Topé Suicida. But it was Yuka Sakazaki who brought things to an end by pinning Arai with the Magical Girl Chicken Dude.

Everyone gave their comments backstage after the match. Yamashita said their time out there in the Tokyo Dome came and went in the blink of an eye. She is really happy that TJPW played a part on a day as historic as Muto’s retirement. Sakazaki wanted to thank Muto for allowing them to have the match because it made them love pro wrestling even more. Nakajima now wants TJPW to run the Tokyo Dome themselves and does not think that dream is impossible. Tatsumi agrees and because she wants all of TJPW to be here. Watanabe wants to spread the word and tell everyone how wonderful TJPW is. Mizuki thinks the company will grow even bigger and she will do her best to headline the Dome some day. Itoh was very happy to do the Cutest Knuckle Punch In The World at the Tokyo Dome. Arai was disappointed to lose the match but still called the experience a wonderful time with wonderful wrestlers.

1. KO-D Tag Team Titles – Falls Count Anywhere Match: MAO & Shunma Katsumata (c) Vs Sanshiro Takagi & Fuminori Abe

Burlesque dancers will be performing while the match is going on. Since the match is being broadcast on PPV on the PIA LIVE STREAM service, fans watching can donate to support their favorite wrestlers too. ShunMao said the match will be so hot the club will turn into a sauna. However they are already looking past their opponents because they are also looking forward to defending the KO-D Tag Team Titles against Yukio Sakaguchi & Hikaru Machida a few days later.

Meanwhile Bonno Dai Shacho have taken up pole dance training to prepare for the match! Fuminori Abe became inspired to use the surrounding environment to its fullest, wanting to use the poles on stage to create the most gruesome and erotic wrestling move he can think of. Sanshiro Takagi loved the idea but has no experience using poles so the two of them took a class at Pole & Fitness Studio Lycoris in Itabashi. There they were given a lesson by Keiko, a world pole dancing champion. Keiko suggested they should use a Headscissors while hanging from the pole and in practice it turned out to be a very powerful technique. At the end of the class both Takagi & Abe felt confident what they learned will win them the KO-D Tag Titles!

8. KO-D Tag Team Titles: MAO & Shunma Katsumata (c) Vs Yukio Sakaguchi & Hikaru Machida
9. KO-D Openweight Title Next Challenger Decision Match: HARASHIMA Vs Yukio Naya

“The Unfinished Genius” is a new nickname that’s been given to Yukio Naya to mark his rise up the ranks in DDT. There has always been high expectations for his pro wrestling career and he was reminded of it when he threw out the challenge at Yuji Hino for the KO-D Openweight Title last month. The growing confidence makes him think he will definitely beat HARASHIMA to become the No. 1 Contender. HARASHIMA has other ideas. He needs the KO-D Title to prove he is still the centre of DDT. Due to the company’s attempts to push their younger wrestlers, HARASHIMA hasn’t had much of a chance to showcase himself lately. This upcoming match may be his only way to remain in the main event scene for the time being.

Sakaguchi & Machida are currently standing on the sidelines waiting to see which tag team they will be facing for the KO-D Tag Titles. It does not matter who they face, their match plan will be the same. But Sakaguchi does admit he would prefer to see Takagi & Abe win because they represent the old DDT. Machida would be happy to fight either MAO or Abe because he knows how strong they are from his previous meetings with them in the ring.

With a spot on the DDT USA shows on the line, the D GENERATIONS CUP final is between Yuya Koroku and Takeshi Masada. It was Masada’s desire to get onto the American shows that caused this tournament to begin with and he is now one step away from achieving his goal. All of the other wrestlers in the tournament are facing each other in a 6-Man Tag Match. Koroku wants to continue his own momentum by finishing the tournament completely unbeaten, proving he is the strongest in his generation.

Whoever wins this match will probably be carrying the MAX Title into Korakuen Hall 24 hours later.

Promises were made by Naruki Doi and KANON that their DDT Universal Match would be just between them with no bystanders around the ring, let alone any interference. Obviously that turned out to be a lie. KANON did walk out to the ring on his own and fought by himself for a while. But once Doi had everything going his way MJ Paul burst out of hiding to interfere in the match. Luckily for Doi, Toru Owashi made his way to the ring to counter Paul and return the match back to a level playing field. In a fair fight KANON did his best but two Bakatare Sliding Kicks back to back left Doi retaining his championship.

After the match Doi said he could tell KANON was being unusually emotional and realised he really did try to win the title off of him. Doi hates guys like KANON and Daisuke Sasaki but he will always want to fight them too so they should have another match sometime. At this point in his victory speech, Doi noticed that nobody was heading down to the ring to challenge him for a title match. So Doi decided to call out Tetsuya Endo! It had to be explained to him that Endo wasn’t at the show today because of a fever so the show ended with that potential match hanging in the air. Endo did tweet out later he would like to do the match.

Yukio Naya had a face off with HARASHIMA after their 6-Man Tag Match. Backstage Naya said he knows HARASHIMA’s strikes are strong but he was the winner today. He is confident he will be the winner against HARASHIMA at Korakuen Hall too on 26th February. HARASHIMA admitted he can feel the momentum and strength coming from his opponent is higher than ever before. It only makes him look forward to the match even more!

The Master Of Environment Match had two green ropes stretching across the ring with one attached to the middle ring ropes and the other attached to the bottom ropes. The turnbuckle pads were also removed. Akito came up with these moves to test Jun Akiyama’s mobility as well as give the two wrestlers more ways to leverage pinfalls and submission holds. The limited space caused Akiyama and Akito to get tangled in the green ropes in multiple ways. Yukinori Matsui also had trouble moving around and tripped out of the way at one point. Akito used that as an opportunity to add a third green rope. When Matsui noticed the extra rope and went to remove it, Akito crotched Akiyama and cradled him for a nearfall. Akiyama then grabbed Akito in the Exploder Suplex position and began to set him up for the Wrist-Clutch version. Akito grabbed a green rope to keep himself grounded but Akiyama then rolled him over with an Inside Cradle to get the three count. Akito later blamed the green ropes for betraying him and making him lose. He’ll never fight in this kind of match ever again!

After the match Akiyama announced his who his next DDT Extreme Title challenger is going to be. He called down Kotaro Suzuki! There was a pause until Suzuki came down to the ring. Akiyama joked about him being late and having bad timing. He also pointed out that Suzuki often wrestles by different rules because of his freelance status. Wouldn’t being a champion make him even more attractive as a freelancer? If he can beat Akiyama in a hard hitting, no nonsense match then Akiyama will let Suzuki stay here in DDT! Suzuki accepted the challenge and the match will take place at DDT’s 26th Anniversary show on 21st March.

The arrival of Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford to DDT is already paying off for the couple. Sabian’s first match here had him spearheading an international trio with Chris Brookes & Hagane Shinno. Ford wasn’t afraid to get involved either because she gave Kazusada Higuchi a Hurricanrana and Yuki Ishida a Missile Dropkick whenever the ref wasn’t looking. She even played into the result, giving Sabian aid to set up his Deathly Hallows finisher to Ishida. Backstage Shinno was full of praise for Sabian, telling the media there are so many amazing wrestlers like him in AEW. According to Shinno, maybe we will see more of them in DDT soon? Sabian talked about how when he saw the Kenny Omega Vs Kota Ibushi match at Budokan Hall eleven years ago, he knew from that day on he wanted to come to DDT. Today he finally made it and he got to team up with Brookes again for the first time in years. Now he has his eyes set on next week’s appearance in Korakuen Hall.

That’s not all though. Ford got even more attention backstage by becoming the new Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion! Sabian & Ford spotted Saki Akai walking backstage and hatched a plan. Sabian distracted Akai by introducing himself to her and starting a conversation. Ford then gave Akai a School Boy, got the three count and the couple ran off with the belt!

The last block matches in the D GENERATIONS CUP have now set up the final on 26th February. The A Block had two unbeaten wrestlers left, Hideki Okatani and Yuya Koroku. A Running Elbow Butt from Koroku turned out to be the difference maker sending him right into the final. Over in the B Block Takeshi Masada had to fight from behind against Toi Kojima to win the match. Due to the head to head result that means Masada just barely makes it to the final, keeping his Hollywood dream only one more step away from finally becoming a reality.

3. Rika Tatsumi, Suzume & Arisu Endo defeated Shoko Nakajima, Hyper Misao & Kaya Toribami when Endo submitted Toribami with the Camel Clutch (12:34).
4. Yuka Sakazaki, Mizuki & Raku defeated Maki Itoh, Yuki Kamifuku & Mahiro Kiryu when Mizuki pinned Kiryu with the Cutie Special (11:44).
5. International Princess Title: Miu Watanabe (c) defeated Janai Kai with the Tear Drop (10:25).
*V3 for Miu Watanabe.
6. Miyu Yamashita & Yuki Arai defeated Aja Kong & Moka Miyamoto when Arai pinned Miyamoto with the Finally (10:31).

Today’s show in Nagoya had a heaping amount of SKE48 involved. Not only did Yuki Arai feature in the main event but she was also part of a mini concert that was held in the ring during the show. Arai was put in the headline match because she was facing against her “GRAND PRINCESS ’23” opponent Aja Kong in a tag match with Miyu Yamashita and Moka Miyamoto also involved. Arai even got the win in the end by pinning Miyamoto. However she admitted to the audience afterwards she was in a frustrated mood because Kong is still there standing. She wants to show everyone from Yamashita to the fans that she can beat Kong on her own next month.

Yesterday Janai Kai said she had counters at the ready to deal with Miu Watanabe and they were all built around heavy kicks. It kept Watanabe at bay for a while until she was able to catch Kai’s leg and pull her into the Giant Swing. Watanabe’s power also got her out of a Dragon Sleeper. Kai’s plan fell apart when she missed the Tornado Kick and left her open for the Tear Drop, giving the champion her third successful title defence. After the match Rika Tatsumi gave the title belt to Watanabe and praised her for shining brightly ever since she won the title. This version of Miu Watanabe is somebody Tatsumi wants to fight so she asked her for a title shot! Watanabe accepted because she one day wants to surpass her tag team partner and said they should do the match at “GRAND PRINCESS ’23” on 18th March.

Remember when I said I wasn’t sure if there was a team name for Shoko Nakajima, Hyper Misao & Kaya Toribami? Turns out there is one. The trio are called Kyoraku Torimei when they are together!

HIMAWARI kicked off the wrestling portion of the show by winning her match for the first time ever. She avenged her submission defeat to Wakana Uehara from last week by making her tap out in a tag match today. HIMAWARI credited the win to Yuki Aino for being there but Aino said she didn’t do anything. HIMAWARI insisted it was because of Aino because her presence in the corner gave her reassurance. Aino has now been part of HIMAWARI’s Tokyo Joshi Pro debut and HIMAWARI’s first win. That means she has been a part of every important moment in the rookie’s career!

The SKE48 mini concert included a surprise announcement of the idol unit sending a “second assassin” to TJPW soon (the first being Arai). Shiori Aoki will be debuting for the promotion on 15th April… as a referee. Aoki was just as surprised as everyone else in the room by the announcement but she performed a three count on the canvas to endorse the idea.

There was the usual opening musical performance from The Up Up Girls with the 4th member Shino also involved. There was big news afterwards when it was announced that Shino’s pro wrestling debut is now going to happen soon! She will have her first match on 6th March teaming with Raku to take on the other two unit members Watanabe & Hikari Noa. Shino thanked everyone for supporting her because she was scared that she was being overtaken by the other trainees. She will do her best to repay her fans for their support.

Yamashita Going To USA For 3 Months

February 17, 2023

The Tokyo Joshi Pro press conference held earlier today revealed that Miyu Yamashita is going to stay in America for three months beginning at the end of March. The expedition starts when TJPW is in Los Angeles for their first show ever US show but Yamashita will not be going back home with them once it is done. Her return match in Japan will be at her homecoming show in Fukuoka on 25th June. Yamashita said she’s had a strong desire to wrestle abroad more often even before the Coronavirus pandemic begun and spoke to Tetsuya Koda about it. When the pandemic subsided, Yamashita was finally able to wrestle overseas again and started believing it was realistic for her to stay in America for a while. After more discussions with Koda and TJPW, Yamashita decided to go ahead with her plan.

Yamashita was asked questions by the host Sayuri Namba to give more details about her plans. She said she does not know what will happen to her after March and even joked she may not even be alive by then! She might go back to TJPW by the time June or July rolls around. She could even do another American excursion over the summer if this one works out the way she wants. Namba asked what were to happen if 121000000 win the Princess Tag Team Titles from The Wasteland War Party at Ariake Coliseum on 18th March? Yamashita said she & Maki Itoh will definitely win the belts and since Itoh already wrestles in America regularly they could defend the titles over there. However if 121000000 has to defend the belts back in Japan then Yamashita can temporarily come home to do those matches whenever they are scheduled. Itoh is aware of Yamashita’s plans so they already talked about keeping their tag team flexible.

Some of Yamashita’s scheduled matches during her stay have already been announced for April (Prestige, Wrestling REVOLVER and West Coast Pro among others). She has openings for May and June with the goal of fighting as many different wrestlers in as many different places as she can. She does not has a specific area of the country to focus on yet. It is also still possible for her to travel to the UK where she is currrently the reigning EVE Champion. She would still like to defend that title during this period. She has no worries about travelling for three months other than she is going to enjoy herself too much! Namba warned her not to buy an overpriced phone case again.
