Eight gets whittled down to four as the Tokyo Princess Cup went through the Quarter Finals today. In the main event it was champion against champion as Mizuki fought Shoko Nakajima. It was their first singles match against each other since the 2020 Princess Cup Final but they were both prepared for each other. Nakajima was able to prevent the Cutie Special from happening but Mizuki also knew when to block the 619 with a Dropkick. However Nakajima was persistent with the move and eventually found her mark with it. She also fought to lock in the Unmanned Local Train Hold but Mizuki got out of it with a rope break. She then got to do the Cutie Special from the top rope as a counter for Nakajima planning a top rope Hurricanrana. But Nakajima took over and used her signature moves one after the other before pinning Mizuki with the Diving Senton. After the match Nakajima told Mizuki the next time they have a singles match she will be wearing the Princess Of Princess Title at the end of it. Backstage Mizuki said she wants to get revenge for this loss so she hopes Nakajima wins the tournament to set up a rematch with the Princess Title on the line. In fact, she is willing to give her a title shot even if Nakajima doesn’t win the Cup.

The unexpected upset of the Quarter Finals… wait can it really be called unexpected? Maybe Miyu Yamashita finally winning the Princess Cup in 2023 and skipping the 2024 tournament made some fans forget the Cup has historically been Yamashita’s Achilles heel throughout her entire career. Well today was her rude awakening because Arisu Endo knocked her out in the Quarter Finals! Endo tried to make a gameplan around using her mobility to disrupt Yamashita’s moves but that didn’t work. Instead she had to rely on her guts and take every kick her opponent threw at her. Soon she was able to read Yamashita’s attacks but Yamashita fired back by escaping the Camel Clutch to give Endo a German Suplex. Endo was able to withstand more strikes and used a Waterwheel Drop to throw Yamashita into the turnbuckles. Endo then stunned her with a Super Kick and used the Ju no Okite to get the upset victory. Endo said she was flooded with memories of the past as soon as this match was announced. She remembered feeling helpless against Yamashita in their early singles matches and also remembered Yamashita directly beating her to take the Princess Tag Team Titles. But the Endo that is here today could not have existed without that past. She owes a lot to Yamashita because whenever they fight, Endo finds a passion she never knew she had coming out and it gets her super fired up. Yamashita was frustrated over the loss but she tells herself she’ll just need to switch her focus. She wanted to fight Rika Tatsumi in the tournament this year but Tatsumi was eliminated in the first round so none of Yamashita’s Princess Cup dreams came true this year.

Yuki Arai isn’t wasting time climbing her way back to getting another Princess Title shot. She also continues to have the upper hand on Wakana Uehara whenever they face each other. Uehara was softened up with Big Boots but she got to do a Brainbuster to set up the Banana Pillow. Arai reached the ropes but took enough damage that she couldn’t pin Uehara straight away after doing the Full Nelson Buster. Uehara went for a series of roll ups, ending with a Jackknife Pin to try and win the same way she did in Round 1. However Arai caught Uehara by the legs and turned her over into the Scorpion Death Lock, keeping it locked in until Uehara gave up. Arai said Uehara’s growth since last year’s tournament has been incredible. She wonders if they will face each other again at next year’s Princess Cup to make it three years in a row. Arai hopes she will win if that does happen. Uehara is disappointed she lost to Arai again but she is proud of the progress she has made. If Uehara can’t be the centre of attention this year then she will support Arai to go all the way instead.

The power of Miu Watanabe was just too overwhelming for Haru Kazashiro to handle. From Backbreakers to Batting Hammers to Power Slams, Watanabe broke her opponent off piece by piece. Kazashiro found some moments to fight back by targeting Watanabe’s arms but soon she found herself being spun around in a Front Neck Lock Giant Swing. Once Watanabe put her into the Reverse Paradox, it was all over for Kazashiro. Watanabe said she could sense how fired up Kazashiro was for this match and she will continue to grow even more from here. While Kazashiro acknowledges her improvement from last year’s tournament, she still doesn’t feel like she has caught up yet. She sees this match as an important milestone and her last summer as a high school student isn’t over yet.

A few hours after the show was finished, TJPW held the draw to set up the semi final pairings. Rise Shirai watched over the proceedings and the matches happening on 17th August are Shoko Nakajima Vs Miu Watanabe and Yuki Arai Vs Arisu Endo. Watanabe thinks Nakajima has been performing at full speed ever since she won the MLW Women’s World Featherweight Title so she had to work hard against her recently. She would also like to face Arai in the final because it will be a first time singles match for them. Nakajima talked about how well received their recent match in Texas was but the praise doesn’t make up for her being the loser of the match. As far as Nakajima is concerned, this match feels like the final. Arai has made the semi finals before but wants to beat Endo so she can finally reach the final. Endo has noticed how often Arai is present for TJPW’s important moments lately. She has never beaten Arai but knows she’ll need to stop her unstoppable momentum in order to make it to the final. She has the confidence to do it after beating Yamashita today.

Today was Ivy Steele’s final match with Tokyo Joshi Pro before she returns home to England. She has spent a year in Japan as part of a cultural program with her university back in Great Britain. She walked down to the ring with Kira Summer carrying both the British flag and Australian flag. She put Toga in the Vines Of Ivy submission hold but Chika Nanase broke it up. Summer threw Nanase aside with a Back Body Drop but Steele ended up getting pinned by Toga’s Rock Bottom. Backstage Steele said she was happy her last TJPW match was with people she loves but it’s a shame she wasn’t able to win. Summer suggested since they lost that means Steele will have to come back to Japan so she can get her win back. Steele pointed out she and Toga have a 1-1 singles record against each other. So don’t treat this as a goodbye, it is more see you later.

Pom Harajuku sat out in the front row for the beginning of the 3 Way Match because she wanted to see fireworks between Yuki Kamifuku and HIMAWARI. She eventually got involved but kept demanding the other two jump in the air like they were fireworks blowing up. HIMAWARI was happy to join in but Kamifuku wasn’t. When she was finally convinced to give it a go, Kamifuku was suddenly attacked by the other two and the match proceeded as normal.

Round 1 of this year’s Tokyo Princess Cup is done and dusted, leaving us with 8 wrestlers left in the tournament. Today’s half of the bracket was headlined with the latest chapter in the series between Shoko Nakajima and Rika Tatsumi. From the moment the bell rang Tatsumi was on the attack and kept increasing the pressure from there. Whenever Nakajima started to get some momentum, Tatsumi would cut her off with Hip Attacks, Dragon Screws and Backbreakers. Nakajima finally found her breakthrough by giving her opponent an Avalanche Hurricanrana. Tatsumi tried using the Dragon Sleeper to slow her back down but eventually Nakajima caught her with the 619, setting up the Double Arm DDT and Diving Senton for the victory. After the match Nakajima mentioned Hamamatsu is said to be the city Godzilla crushed in the original movie and today it is where she crushed Tatsumi! This year she is more determined as ever because she is a double champion and cannot lose to anyone. That includes her 2nd Round opponent Mizuki. If anyone is going to become the hero of the summer Nakajima thinks it will be her instead of Mizuki! Backstage Tatsumi said she would have been in some kind of hell whether she won or lost so she would have preferred to win. She thinks today is the strongest that Nakajima has ever been. Nakajima brought up the previous times Tatsumi beat her so today feels like she has paid back a debt. She also proved a big kaiju can step over a dragon!

Yuki Arai was knocked down to the bottom of the mountain when she failed to win the Princess Of Princess Title at “SUMMER SUN PRINCESS ’25”. Today was the beginning of her climbing back up again when she beat a previous Princess Cup finalist Yuki Kamifuku. Arai was almost pinned with an Inverted Famouser but she avoided the Diving version of Kamifuku’s finisher. She then knocked her back with a Short Range Rookie Award and got the pin with the Finally. After the match Arai found Wakana Uehara standing in the distance watching and pointed out to her. The two of them will meet each other next in Round 2. Even though Arai beat Kamifuku she is feeling some regret over the result. Kamifuku still fights the same way she did in their previous matches but she is still a very tough challenge for Arai to beat. It reminds Arai she still has a long way to go. She’s expecting Uehara to be just as dangerous because she had a fierce look in her eyes. Kamifuku told reporters she really hates tournaments because the stress isn’t good for her heart. At least she can now go find other exciting things to do for the rest of the summer.

In the lead up to today’s show Hyper Misao revealed her motivation for entering this year’s Princess Cup. She wants to one day become the Tokyo Joshi Pro GM and winning the tournament will give her the immense power needed to achieve that goal! Unfortunately her plan suffered a major setback from the get go when Arisu Endo eliminated her from the first round. She tried to win using the Kingslayer followed by the Vanitas but Endo instead Super Kicked her and got the pin with the Ju no Okite. Endo thinks this is a huge win because she just defeated a hero! She has a goal of her own, to win the tournament and bring the Princess Cup trophy back to her homecoming show this September. Her dad paid her a visit yesterday just to wish her luck in the tournament so she is fighting for him and their family. She also thinks it will be really cool if she beats Miyu Yamashita in the next round. Misao is not giving up on her goal to become the GM. She is giving herself three years to make it happen and once it does she promises to make TJPW even more enjoyable for everybody.

The youngest entrant in the main tournament has advanced to Round 2. Haru Kazashiro found a counter to HIMAWARI’s Sunflower Tempest and turned it into the Fisherman Suplex for the victory. HIMAWARI is disappointed to be eliminated after working so hard to get past the Preliminary League. It was also her first singles match with Kazashiro in two years so she got to see first hand just how much her opponent has grown. Kazashiro was looking forward to this match so she could avenge her loss to HIMAWARI in the 2023 Next Generation Tournament. She is also feeling like this year is going to be her breakthrough year. With Miu Watanabe now waiting for her in Round 2, Kazashiro wants to build up her momentum even further so she can win the Princess Cup and challenge for the Princess Title.

Today is Mifu Ashida’s birthday so Mahiro Kiryu sang Happy Birthday to her. Then as soon as she finished the song she tried to roll her up for a pinfall. She ended up using that for her Apology spot but Yamashita interrupted it by kicking her in the back.

Maki Itoh missed the show due to illness so Match #2 became a 3 Vs 4 Handicap match without her. Watanabe was moved over to the other team ins Itoh’s place just so Yuki Aino, Raku & Pom Harajuku were all together as the Love Triangle.

The show was also Ren Konatsu’s first homecoming match, even though she only started wrestling two months ago. She was disappointed to drop the fall in the opening tag match because she was teaming with her favorite wrestler Suzume as well as fighting for her hometown. Suzume told her she understands the frustration but the match they had also showed how much fun pro wrestling is. This is how wrestlers get stronger so next time they’re in the same match she wants to see Konatsu getting the win on her own.

With the preliminary league out of the way it is now time to start the Tokyo Princess Cup properly. Half of the Quarter Final spots have been filled after today’s set of matches and one of those spots goes to the reigning Princess Of Princess Champion. The main event began with Mizuki and Yuki Aino catching each other’s kicks and agreeing to let each other go. Mizuki relied on dives and Double Stomps so Aino climbed up the ropes too so she could do an Avalanche Side Suplex. She also pulled out a Side Walk variation of the Venus DDT but when she tried to finish her opponent off with the UBV, Mizuki escaped and used the Cutie Special twice to win. After the match Mizuki described the look in Aino’s sparkling, burning eyes and felt she couldn’t lose. Backstage she said Aino is always by her side for important matches so she’s happy to fight her today. Aino called herself the princess of summer going into this tournament and wants to believe her summer isn’t over yet. She is throwing her support behind Mizuki to win the Cup so she can challenge her again, hopefully for the Princess Title next time. Mizuki will be facing either Shoko Nakajima or Rika Tatsumi in the Quarter Final. She expects a tough match against either of them no matter who wins.

At the bracket drawing for the tournament, Raku tried to intimidate Miu Watanabe by posing like a triangle in front of her. Watanabe thought she looked like a traffic cone so Raku was inspired to bring one out for their match! Her plan was to briefly send Watanabe to sleep with a lullaby and then lead a trail of chocolate up to the entrance. There, Raku jumped out of her hiding spot and placed the cone over Watanabe’s head to block her sight and hopefully get counted out. Watanabe made it back to the ring pretty easily so Raku put the cone over her head again while appplying the Front Neck Lock. However Watanabe instead held onto her for a Giant Swing, making the cone fly off in the process. She then went on to pin Raku with the Tear Drop. Watanabe said she spent the cold season planning on getting back to the top again. Now that summer has arrived it’s time to put her plan in motion. Raku thought she bought enough chocolate to distract Watanabe and thinks she was outside the ring long enough for a 20 count. She ate some of the chocolate in the ring after the match and thought it was delicious so she isn’t too upset over losing. She also gave some of the remaining chocolate to the reporters during her post-match interview. Watanabe will face either HIMAWARI or Haru Kazashiro in the next round.

The big upset of Round 1 might have already happened because the first tournament match of the day saw Suzume lose to Wakana Uehara! The former International Princess Champion is now entering a slump because right after she lost the belt she ends up losing here too. Uehara blocked the Ring A Bell and used a School Boy for a nearfall. Then she kept up the pressure until she rolled over Suzume with a Jackknife Pin to get the three count. Uehara lost to Suzume in Dallas during the Texas tour so she felt she had to go all out today. She didn’t know what to do when Suzume countered the Banana Pillow so she had to rely on her heart and was already doing the Jackknife Pin by the time she realized what was happening. Suzume is disheartened because she has earned the trust of so many people and is letting them all down. She is confident she can get them all to believe in her again. There is also an opponent she had in mind if she won the tournament so this only makes her work even harder to get it. Uehara’s Quarter Final opponent is either going to be Yuki Kamifuku or Yuki Arai. She would like to avenge last year’s Princess Cup loss to Arai but she also likes wrestling with Kamifuku as partners and opponents.

Fumirin had a challenging time trying to control the 8-Woman Tag Match. Hyper Misao encouraged Yuki Arai to use the Hero Spray in order to learn that you cannot win big matches just by using normal ways. But Arai hesitated and refused to use it. When Misao used the spray on the other team, Fumirin grabbed it off her. Misao caught a kick from Arisu Endo and threw her foot into Fumirin to knock her down and sent the spray can falling to the middle of the ring. One by one everyone attacked each other with the spray can leaving everyone but Arai down on the ground. Arai hesitated to pick it up but decided to do it only for Endo to turn the can around and make Arai spray herself in the face with it.

There was originally supposed to be a fourth 1st Round bout on the show but Moka Miyamoto became ill and had to forfeit her match with Miyu Yamashita, meaning Yamashita already advances to the Quarter Finals on a bye. Yamashita was also moved over to a non-tournament bout today where she teamed with Mahiro Kiryu. However Maki Itoh was on the other team and Kiryu wanted to know how Yamashita still feels about her? Yamashita said she loves Itoh while Itoh told her to shut up. That made Kiryu worried that she caused a fight to happen between the two so she made Yamashita apologize with her while they both knelt on top of Pom Harajuku.

If Mizuki gets to have her way then the entire summer is going to belong to her. She got one step closer to achieving that goal by successfully defending the Princess Of Princess Title today and cutting down the rising star Yuki Arai in the process. Arai relied heavily on Big Boots and similar attacks while Mizuki fired back in kind with Diving Stomps and heavy Dropkicks that resemble those kinds of stomps. Arai switched to putting Mizuki in the Scorpion Death Lock and even tried catching Mizuki’s arm to stop her from reaching the ropes. But Mizuki would rope break out of it and block the Finally to hit a Run-Up Double Stomp. From there Mizuki did the Whirling Candy for a two count. Arai was spent but kept trying to fight back until Mizuki caught her with the Cutie Special, hit her with a Missile Dropkick and drop her with another Cutie Special to win the match.

After the match Mizuki stuck her hand out to help Arai get back up and the two hugged. Arai left the ring and Mizuki thanked the fans for coming to the show as well as the fans who watched the stream from home. She said Arai is tough like Superman and by fighting her she could feel how amazing she is. The baton was passed through everyone in Tokyo Joshi Pro today from the very first match to the main event and Mizuki was happy to run with it at the end. If Arai is Superman, Mizuki is the Princess Of Princesses and she next wants to go win the Tokyo Princess Cup as the reigning Princess Champion! Arai admitted she kind of knew Mizuki was too high of a hurdle for her today. As much as she wanted to win the Princess Title her first time challenging for the belt made her realize she still can’t reach it yet. She also knows this wasn’t a once in a lifetime chance and she has time to become someone good enough to wear the belt around her waist someday. When that day comes she will challenge with confidence and would be happy if it’s Mizuki she has to beat to become champion.

Turns out it’s going to take more than just sasumata poles to take the Princess Tag Team Titles away from Kyoraku Kyomei! For the last month Daydream have been using sasumatas to torture the champions and get into their heads. Hyper Misao’s first counter measure was to promise she wouldn’t use her Hero Spray in the match and place it down on the mat. She then pulled out a second can and immediately sprayed Daydream with it. When the fight went around ringside Miu Watanabe used the sasumata to hook onto Shoko Nakajima and carry her up high before throwing her down to the floor. She and Rika Tatsumi also used the poles to swing and spin their opponents around in the ring. Misao then had to bring out her second counter measure, the Hyper Mobile! She ended up crashing it into Mahiro Kiryu but then Kyoraku Kyomei and Daydream charged into each other like it was a joust! Both teams wiped each other out so it was all even when the action moved back into the ring. Daydream tried to both do top rope moves on seperate corners but Kyoraku Kyomei countered it with their own Avalanche moves. Daydream did the Daydream Eternity on Nakajima by Misao broke the count at two. Nakajima then countered Watanabe’s Tear Drop into a Hurricanrana and did the Northern Lights Suplex only for Tatsumi to break the pin. The champions then got the upper hand when Nakajima gave Watanabe the Double Arm DDT while Misao used Vanitas on Tatsumi. That left the coast clear for Nakajima to climb the top turnbuckle and hit the Diving Senton on Watanabe for the win. Nakajima was worried the match would end in a time limit draw but she thinks her strength was the difference maker that pushed Kyoraku Kyomei towards victory. Tatsumi is disappointed that Daydream couldn’t win but she at least thinks her and Watanabe showed how good they would look as models advertising the sasumata poles.

There was one title change on the show and it came when Moka Miyamoto defeated Suzume for the International Princess Championship! Suzume added a rope walk Flying Facecrusher to her moveset and followed it up with the low range Ring A Bell. But when she jumped from the ropes to do the Spring Ring A Bell, Miyamoto dodged it and connected with the Zero Fighter Kick. Suzume was helpless from there and got pinned with the Korokan afterward for the title change. Miyamoto happily cried over winning her first championship especially because it happened two days before the 5th anniversary of her debut match. She is also pleased that the move she originally created for her first title challenge was what won her the match today. She is now looking forward to defending the title against foreign challengers so she can show them Japanese pro wrestling. Suzume is sad to see her title reign stop here when she feels like she is at her strongest. But having the title expanded her world and the reason she won it is because everyone believed in her. She knows she will bounce back from this and not miss out on the hot summer ahead.

The return of Billie Starkz to Japan also meant the return of the big move heavy style of wrestling you’d see on the American indies. Miyu Yamashita was happy to fight that way too even if she ends up getting a bit of a headache from it afterwards. At one point Starkz lifted her up at ringside and did a running Alabama Slam into the ring apron that saw Yamashita almost smack her head off of the edge. Yamashita returned the favour by giving Starkz the Attitude Adjustment from the ring apron to the floor. Back in the ring Starkz started getting frustrated when a Swanton Bomb and Tombstone Piledriver would not put Yamashita away. She then tried lifting her up for the Sugoi Driver but Yamashita slipped off behind her and applied a Sleeper Hold. Starkz used the Alabama Slam again to throw Yamashita into the corner and went for another Sugoi Driver but it was countered into a Victory Roll that led to Yamashita German Suplexing Starkz into the turnbuckles! Yamashita then hit the Crash Rabbit Heat in the middle of the ring to pin Starkz for the three count. Backstage Yamashita said today was the first time in three months she’s been in a TJPW ring and in that time she spent a lot of her tour with Starkz. She’s amazed at what Starkz has accomplished while only being 20 years old and enjoys fighting her, even when she does some crazy unexpected things. She wants Starkz to wrestle in TJPW again and suggested they even team up here. Starkz calls Yamashita one of her best opponents. Also as much as she was happy to wrestle on TJPW’s Dallas show, she said nothing can replace the feeling of wrestling on a TJPW show in Japan.

A lot of effort went into the entrances for the intergender tag match. TeaDK walked out dressed like royalty and being accompanied by servants. Meanwhile Maki Itoh made sure El Desperado got the full NEO Itoh Respect Army experience when the two of them danced to “Setsunairo”! Things went badly for TeaDK from the start. Desperado caught a Big Boot from Chris Brookes and threw his foot right into Emi Sakura’s face, causing her to get a nose bleed. Then Desperado and Brookes fought all the way up to the second floor to do the stretched rubber band spot on Itoh back in the ring. Brookes then introduced Itoh to Bunbun and the puppet gave her the middle finger. Itoh grabbed Bunbun and threw him out of the ring in response. Sakura was able to put Desperado in the Romero Special but Brookes used a Piledriver to get rid of him. Sakura then beat down Itoh with a Double Arm Backbreaker and Short-Range Lariat. Itoh showed resistance by sticking up her middle finger but Sakura then finished her off with the Queen’s Gambit to pin her. Backstage Sakura said the NEO Itoh Respect Army put 100% into their entrance but when the bell rang they didn’t give it their all. She also said Brookes didn’t do his share of the work either so this win was all entirely thanks to herself! Itoh praised Despy for the entrance and called him a great idol along with being a great IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion. She is now thinking of uniting all of the NEO Itoh Respect Army together so they can release a debut CD together.

Everyone had to watch their backs for the 3 Way Tag Match. Arisu Endo and Haru Kazashiro started off the match exchanging chain holds until Yuki Kamifuku eye raked the both of them. She then called VENY in so VENYU could work over Kazashiro until Endo & Jada Stone took control. Kazashiro continued taking the brunt of the attacks until she could tag in Yuki Aino. VENY got time in the ring with Stone and Kazashiro that ended with a triple down and tags to their partners. The two members of the Tokyo Joshi Tokusatsu Club then turned it up a notch with Aino giving Stone & Endo a Double Side Suplex. Things broke down with VENY doing a Moonsault onto Stone outside the ring while Kamifuku tried to finish off whoever she could find. But Kazashiro came in to give her the Fisherman Suplex. That left Aino in the ring with Endo. Aino countered the Ju no Okite into a Running Bulldog and then used the UBV on Endo to pin her. Kazashiro said this was her first 3 Way Tag match and she didn’t know what to do during the chaos. Aino praised the other teams for being strong and admitted some luck went their way. But they’re going to use this positive power to do more. VENYU were annoyed because they thought this was going to be an easy win. VENY is also noticing the last few times she’s been teaming with Kamifuku they’ve been losing. She doesn’t get invited to TJPW much so when she does she wants to get a belt! Kamifuku told her they can go to Ginza if she wants to look for a new belt.

Some new looks were on display for the 8-Woman Tag Match. Kaya Toribami and Chika Nanase had new costumes while Toga wore a fancy pair of sunglasses that look similar to the ones Kira Summer wears. Yuna Manase showed up with a new title belt to go along with the Kitsune World Title. Yesterday she won the Daily Sports Tag Team Title over at a PURE-J show. She accidentally dropped that belt to the floor during her ring entrance. Mahiro Kiryu’s once per match apology was her saying sorry for bringing a hot woman like Manase here when it’s already so hot every day. The match came down to Nanase lifting up Wakana Uehara into the Inari Torii Kai only for Mifu Ashida to kick her from behind. Uehara later jumped onto Nanase and rolled her into the Bannana Pillow to make her give up. Toga said her team had a good mix of power and flexibility to win. The wrestlers with power made up for those who didn’t have any and it went the other way with flexibility. Toga & Uehara were also happy to wrestle Manase who had already graduated from TJPW years before they debuted. They were able to show her some of TJPW’s new faces that have popped up while she was gone. Manase thought she had gotten stronger after winning another championship yesterday but she wasn’t able to help her teammates today. She learned she will still have to become even stronger.

Pom Harajuku showed up with her face painted to match Kyoko Inoue’s design but when it was time for their tag match to begin, their opponents decided to take a nap in the ring. Harajuku convinced Inoue they should go straight for the pin but Raku rolled the both of them on top of Andreza Giant Panda for a nearfall. Raku & Andreza then piled themselves on top of them for another nearfall. Inoue was then put to sleep by the power of Raku’s eyemask and lullaby but Harajuku woke her up by screaming. Inoue tried attacking Andreza with Mongolion Chops but Andreza knocked her back with his own version of the move as well as a Spinning Back Fist. Andreza also swatted Harajuku away at points but she was able to knock him down with a Missile Dropkick to the back. Raku gave Inoue a Russian Leg Sweep with an assist from Andreza pushing them over. Andreza then knocked out Harajuku with a Headbutt and pinned her with the Andreza Press. Raku said her team spent most of the day sleeping which is why they were able to win. Andreza’s handler Ossan Tiger agreed because Andreza slept for more than 10 hours, the perfect amount. Harajuku was upset not because she lost but because Inoue wasn’t looking when she was doing her best. Next time she will show Inoue just how cool she is.

The rookie Ren Konatsu got to be on the winning side of a tag team match for the first time. She has HIMAWARI to thank for that. Konatsu was taken out by Shino Suzuki late in the match leaving HIMAWARI to fight Uta Takami. She broke out of the Koala Clutch to give Takami the Princess Drop. Then after that she pinned Takami with the Sunflower Tempest. HIMAWARI was happy to be in the opening match at Ota Ward Gymnasium again because she wanted to make up for losing the opening match at “GRAND PRINCESS ’25” back in March. She also wanted to lead Konatsu for her first big event match of her career. Konatsu only just debuted but she said she has a strong desire to liven things up. Takami is disappointed she lost but appreciates getting to experience all kinds of emotions like happiness, frustration and fun! She hopes some day she will go on a bus tour across Japan with Suzuki for a wrestling trip together.

Welcome to the middle point of the year and the second of three visits to Ota Ward Gymnasium in 2025. As we enter part two in this trilogy of big venue events for Tokyo Joshi Pro this year I’m trying to figure out if a three act story can be pieced together in regards to the company’s top champion. It’s either going to be that or the inauguration of their next ace. A successful tour of Texas earlier this month has provided a gust of momentum for TJPW going into the show and perhaps even a fresh group of eyes looking towards the event, at least internationally. On the undercard a lot of the wrestlers are focusing on the upcoming Tokyo Princess Cup. Even a few of the champions have set up goals to win the tournament while holding their titles. That’s if they make it out of Ota Ward with the belt still in their hands of course. Then once the Cup is done with the road will take TJPW back here for “WRESTLE PRINCESS VI” in September. Now let’s see if this really is going to be Act II of a year long story.

1. HIMAWARI & Ren Konatsu Vs Shino Suzuki & Uta Takami

I don’t know what it is about the new rookie but whenever I look into Ren Konatsu’s eyes I see the crazy vibes of MAO hiding deep in there somewhere. This is way, way down the line by the way because she hasn’t even entered her third month as a pro wrestler yet. All I’m saying is it only takes the little sheep toy clipped to her belt to start whispering ideas into her head and next thing you know she’s using her opponents to smash plastic boxes into pieces. If the sheep suddenly gets replaced with a Labubu then we’re really going to see some trouble down the line.

I thought TJPW had something going on for HIMAWARI and Shino Suzuki by making them team up every now and then going back to the previous Ota Ward show. Instead they are going to be opponents here. HIMAWARI is teaming with Konatsu and is the only one in this match who qualified for the Princess Cup. Suzuki’s failure to get past the prelimary rounds may become a pivotal point in her career because she is now seeing how little progress she’s been making in her three years as a wrestler. Uta Takami meanwhile has her whole future ahead of her and had a big role on this year’s “HYPE!” show. Maybe she’s the one I should be worried about possibly turning crazy instead of Konatsu.

2. Andreza Giant Panda & Raku Vs Kyoko Inoue & Pom Harajuku

A potential monster bout ended up changing its plans but in doing so brings in a brand new joshi legend into the TJPW ring for the first time. Max The Impaler was supposed to return to Japan so they could team up with Pom Harajuku again. Unfortunately according to TJPW Max has health issues preventing them from being able to travel for the show so that put a stop to Pompaler getting back together for now. Harajuku’s new tag partner is the fearsome and face painted Kyoko Inoue! I wonder if United Japan Pro Wrestling is the reason why we’re getting this appearance? Inoue is the founder and current president of World Woman Pro-Wrestling Diana based in Kanagawa. The joshi group recently joined UJPW as a supporting member and TJPW is already a member so the connection is there to be made.

There might be a jealous Up Up Girl in the locker room once Inoue is in the ring because one of the highlights of her classic matches was always the Giant Swing. Will she be the one to do it to Andreza Giant Panda? The last time Andreza showed up in TJPW he went viral for getting bonked over the head with a Pico Pico Hammer. This place is starting to get too dangerous for him. For Raku though she’s been living a dream ever since her last visit to Ota Ward. Back in March she beat Harajuku to win the SETUP All Asia Women’s Title, her first proper championship reign. While she no longer holds the belt things are just going swimmingly for her lately. This match is just going to be another trip inside her sleepy wonderland. Maybe she’ll bring the Buc-ee toy she bought in Texas with her for Andreza to play with.

3. Yuna Manase, Mahiro Kiryu, Kaya Toribami & Chika Nanase Vs Wakana Uehara, Toga, Mifu Ashida & Kira Summer

Time to throw a mixture of women into the ring, shake it back and forth and see who comes out of it the last ones standing. Yuna Manase pays another visit to TJPW. While she’s been rocking the Ganbare☆Joshi division over in Ganbare☆Pro in Japan, she’s also been flying the flag for Kitsune over in America as their top champion. Mahiro Kiryu was settling into a new tag team with Haruna Neko until Neko got injured yet again so she’s sort of just been floating around at the moment. Kaya Toribami finally had something of a level up by getting to challenge for the MLW Women’s Featherweight Title last month and putting in a pretty good performance. She also has a new costume ready to debut for this show so maybe things are looking up for the bird. Chika Nanase is starting to move up into the next phase of her young career. Where she goes from here is anyone’s guess.

Over on the other team Wakana Uehara is progressing at a nice pace. She has a named tag team as part of Ober Eats, got to challenge for a championship and at this point is pretty much guaranteed to be part of the crew for every USA tour. As long as she keeps her appetite, I see good things coming for her in the future. The times Toga has mostly been standing out lately is from whenever she gets to play an ikemen role of some sort. In regular matches though she’s had a few setbacks lately. Mifu Ashida’s win-loss record since coming here hasn’t been great either. She’s been a bit busy doing other things lately but a time like now is always a good place to start turning things around. Kira Summer has been seeing the growth of women’s wrestling in Asia and Australia this year. It is motivating her to join in and play her part in helping it grow even more.

4. 3 Way Tag Match: Yuki Kamifuku & VENY Vs Yuki Aino & Haru Kazashiro Vs Arisu Endo & Jada Stone

Ober Eats is one of the new teams to appear on the scene this year but Yuki Kamifuku is going back to one of her favorite choices in her wardrobe. She is bringing VENY back so VENYU can team up together again! VENY has spent the year ruling over SEAdLINNNG with a five month reign as Beyond The Sea Champion. Once that title run came to an end she’s been going from place to place in the joshi scene with TJPW becoming her next brief stop. Yuki Aino is fresh off of coming out as the main character of this year’s “HYPE!” show. The lesson she learned coming out of it is she will never be alone in TJPW and that might finally be what leads her out of the maze she’s been stuck in ever since her sister Nodoka Tenma graduated. I’m probably going to be writing that opinion again and again until the end of time.

Aino will be teaming with Haru Kazashiro who continues to grow into a future high card player for the promotion. Once she gets her final year of high school out of the way, the sky’s the limit for how far she will go in the ring. She is already developing the ring smarts to gradually figure out how to perfect the Fisherman Suplex but a 3 Way Tag Match like this is probably too chaotic an environment to show that off. The third team is a fitting mixture of pep and spark. Arisu Endo has been taking a back seat for her Daisy Monkey’s partners success. She hasn’t been letting that dampen her spirits. Jada Stone is now well accustomed to TJPW but it looks like she has a new place to call home. She was recently offered a contract by TNA so I’m not sure if she will continue to do tours here. If this is close to the end then she’s certainly made good use of her time in TJPW.

5. Special Tag Match: El Desperado & Maki Itoh Vs Chris Brookes & Emi Sakura

Are there as many wrestlers out there who are currently living out their dreams like El Desperado has? He gets to fulfill his most violent desires by having several deathmatches with Jun Kasai, pals around with the likes of MAO and Chris Brookes especially when it comes to the more sleazy indies style of wrestling. There’s nobody else in New Japan who is quite as in sync with the current wrestling scene than good ol’ Despy. Now he gets to tick off another line in his bucket list by getting to team with Maki Itoh! The two got to know each other in America two years ago when they were both booked on the same GCW show. The idea was thrown around for them to team up. Now that it’s happening it finally occurred to Despy that he has to learn Itoh’s song and dance in order to be accepted into the Itoh Respect Army. Rehersals so far have not been promising. Brookes was at least able to pull the dance off so the current IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion has no excuse. Come on man you used to carry a guitar around. Surely you can carry a tune too?

TJPW brought Despy & Itoh together because they needed a poison pairing that could match the same level as TeaDK. Brookes & Emi Sakura teamed up in TJPW last March for “GRAND PRINCESS ’24” and it didn’t go according to plan for them. They lost to The Magical Sugar Rabbits and blamed each other over the result. Time healed those wounds so they are teaming up again to give TJPW another go. Sakura has had several matches with Sakura over the years, most of them in an AEW ring. Thankfully they haven’t needed to staple each other over and over like Brookes and Despy do whenever they fight. Oh God, don’t let Itoh arm herself with a stapler!

6. Special Single Match: Miyu Yamashita Vs Billie Starkz

One of Miyu Yamashita’s toughest rivals on her excursions to America is Billie Starkz. When it comes to their previous matches Starkz has beaten Yamashita more than the other way around. It’s a friendly rivalry though and the two of them even had something of a good tag team going on during Yamashita’s recent stay in GCW. So when Yamashita heard that Starkz would love nothing more than to wrestle in Japan again she got TJPW to set this match up.

So yeah, that’s pretty much it. Not a lot of story to set this up and it remains to be seen if this is just a one off attraction match to have for the big show. Yamashita only has one championship left to win in TJPW to have achieved every single accomplishment available to her. If anything her winning this match would be done to establish her as the favorite for the Princess Cup. A win for Starkz here though should be followed up on. A younger wrestler beating Yamashita in her home promotion is worth a title shot of some sort down the line. We don’t really need to worry about locker room politics either because it’s become pretty clear recently that Yamashita has some sort of deal in place with AEW/ROH.

7. International Princess Title: Suzume (c) Vs Moka Miyamoto

Now we get into the big three matches of the show. The three championships are all currently on a reliable group of wrestlers so where the belts go from here is a good question to think about. If Suzume was to lose the International Princess Title here she would have left a good mark as champion. Her reign has been a little bit different than the others thanks to a pair of defences against Jada Stone, one in Japan and the rematch in America. It’s unusual for someone to defend a Princess Title against the same challenger twice in one reign. It’s also not that common for the IP Champion to defend the belt overseas when that’s meant to be the whole bloody point of it! When it’s all said and done, Suzume will have a good argument towards having one of the more defining runs as IP Champion. She’s already said she feels like she has evolved from a bee into a hornet because of this title. Her ultimate goal is to become queen bee of TJPW!

Her challenger Moka Miyamoto has also become attached to the belt but it’s becoming for a pretty bad reason. This is going to be her third time challenging for the IP Title after failing to win it twice before. It is the title she wants most because she believes having an international championship is the best way for her to spread Japanese culture across the world. Part of that culture is Japan’s technology and Miyamoto thinks there has to be some kind of Japanese technology out there that is good for getting rid of hornets! The two traded wins with each other during the Texas tour so it’s all even going into Ota Ward.

8. Princess Tag Team Titles: Shoko Nakajima & Hyper Misao (c) Vs Rika Tatsumi & Miu Watanabe

Okay where do sasumata poles stand on the police brutality scale because they’re going to be mentioned a lot in this part of the preview and the girls have already used them to literally crucify Tetsuya Koda. The existence of these things have been the blight of Kyoraku Kyomei’s last couple of weeks. Other than that things are going great for the Princess Tag Team Champions. The big kaiju Shoko Nakajima was let loose in MLW and she quickly acquired the MLW Women’s Title. Meanwhile Hyper Misao lived through the stress of putting together the third annual “HYPE!” show and came out of it in one piece. They were looking forward to their next crazy adventure with the Princess Tag Titles but weren’t ready for how it would be set up.

One year ago the headline match of “SUMMER SUN PRINCESS ’24” was the battle of Daydream between Rika Tatsumi and Miu Watanabe. In the aftermath the two appeared to have gone their separate ways and they went almost a year without teaming up again. That was until a month ago when Daydream reunited and ambushed Kyoraku Kyomei with sasumata poles, demanding a title shot. The champions agreed to the match because Daydream are the kind of strong team they’re looking to beat. Ever since then Tatsumi & Watanabe have been attacking Nakajima & Misao with sasumata poles in their preview matches. Kyoraku Kyomei reached their breaking point over it and stole the sasumatas away from their challengers. They then tried to properly recycle them under the watchful eye of GM Koda until Daydream appeared to try and take their weapons back by force. That led to Nakajima & Misao taping the poles to Koda like a crucifix but Daydream were able to take him back too. Now that the weapons are back in the challengers’ hands they have the advantage going into the title match. Will the champs decided to fight fire with fire or will they have something else under their sleeves to foil Daydream’s plan?

9. Princess Of Princess Title: Mizuki (c) Vs Yuki Arai

This is going one of two ways. Either we are firmly in Mizuki’s era as the dominant Princess Of Princess Champion where she will headline all of the Ota Ward shows or TJPW decides now is the time to crown Yuki Arai as their new top draw. Mizuki has already toppled Watanabe (to win the belt), Tatsumi and Yamashita (the two defences) in this title reign. If she beats Arai here I see her holding onto the belt for a long time to come so she can have her definitive main event run in the promotion. Arai meanwhile made the choice to go all in on having pro wrestling be her career so while she has all the time in the world to achieve the final piece of the TJPW Grand Slam, I wouldn’t be shocked to see the company strike now while the iron is hot.

History doesn’t paint a clear picture for how this is going to go. Arai won the Princess Tag Titles on her first try and Mizuki was one of the champions back then. Arai was involved with the finish but it was Saki Akai who pinned Mizuki for the victory. When it comes to the International Princess Title however Arai failed to win it twice before becoming champion on her third attempt (hey, that’s a good sign for Miyamoto). This main event is her first time fighting for the Princess Of Princess Title. Only a select few have held the title and none were ever able to beat the champion on their first try. But that’s just the kind of record a wrestler booked like Arai would go on to break, right? After all, this is the idol who only needed one Finally Axe Kick to beat the unstoppable Max The Impaler and earned an endorsement from Meiko Satomura. She’s been groomed since day one to become the promotion’s next ace and her quick success is evidence of it.

Arai is not taking this moment for granted. It’s her first big match since graduating from SKE48. When she juggled her idol career with her wrestling career she felt like she wasn’t as good as everyone else in TJPW. But now that she’s fully focused on just wrestling she is eager to go challenge all of her seniors and eventually take the lead of the promotion. Mizuki has a goal in mind to win the Princess Cup while she holds the Princess Title. She has already proved that princesses are stronger than monsters. But are they stronger than successful pop singers?

Tokyo Princess Cup 2025 Brackets

Earlier today Tokyo Joshi Pro invited the 16 participants for this year’s Tokyo Princess Cup to take part in the random draw for the brackets. It was one of the rare times when every single wrestler showed up and was able to get their bracket spot in person. They got to pick in order of their birthdays. That means it started with Hyper Misao because her birthday is 3rd January and went on all the way to the end with HIMAWARI because her birthday is on 18th December. The bracket is split into four blocks with the Round 1 matches split across the first two shows.

It has been over five years since Raku and Miu Watanabe last had a singles match against each other. Raku is excited because the most fun she had from wrestling against Watanabe was the 3 Way Match they had with Haruna Neko this past January. It was the most fun because Raku won the match! She tried to intimidate Watanabe at the press conference by forming a triangle over her head with her arms. Watanabe thought she was trying to be a traffic cone.

Moka Miyamoto has a very big wall facing her in Round 1 against the returning Miyu Yamashita. She is feeling good after winning her two preliminary matches to qualify for the main tournament and will do her best to make this summer a long one. Yamashita has seen how much stronger Miyamoto has gotten but hasn’t felt that power yet. So she encourages her opponent to hit her harder otherwise she won’t be able to beat her. There is also someone in particular that Yamashita wants to beat in this tournament and that’s Rika Tatsumi! Their last singles match was in May 2021 at an empty Korakuen Hall because of the covid lockdown. She thinks Tatsumi’s matches have become special occassions and she’s noticed how crazier she has become since that last singles match. So Yamashita wants to decide which of them is crazier!

The reigning Princess Of Princess Champion has a big title match coming up in Ota Ward Gymnasium next week but Mizuki sees a vision beyond that. She thinks it would be amazing if the Princess Champion goes and wins the Princess Cup! It’s going to be hard but there are a lot of people in the tournament that Mizuki wants to fight. Yuki Aino wants to focus all of her energy to face the champion in Round 1. That’s if Mizuki is still the champion coming out of Ota Ward. Aino sees a lot of Princess champions in this tournament and she doesn’t want to be left out because she is the princess of the summer!

Funnily enough, during the Texas tour Suzume and Wakana Uehara wrestled each other in a tag match then afterwards talked about how long its been since their last singles match together. Suzume is not going to underestimate Uehara after seeing her advance through the preliminary league. She couldn’t make it to the final four last year so that is her goal this time around. Uehara was pinned by Suzume in Texas but is using this experience to help her win the Princess Cup. If she gets past Suzume then she has some familiar opponents waiting for her in Round 2. It’s either the woman who eliminated her last year or her Ober Eats tag team partner.

Shades of last year’s Next Gen Tournament still follow around some of the wrestlers. HIMAWARI expects Haru Kazashiro to be a tough opponent because she won last year’s Next Gen Tournament while HIMAWARI was knocked out in Round 1. But HIMAWARI has been working hard and wants to keep her momentum going into the Princess Cup. Kazashiro remembers losing to HIMAWARI in the 2023 Next Gen Tournament and she is an opponent Kazashiro hasn’t been able to beat yet. So the timing of this match is a big deal for her. She will aim to seize the last summer of her high school years!

There was a time when Arisu Endo disliked having to wrestle Hyper Misao because Misao would always cheat. Her opinion slowly changed over time and now Endo sees Misao as a really cool hero! She hopes Misao will fight fair and square this time, just like how Endo always does. Misao said she can’t lost here in Round 1 because the Texas tour reaffirmed what she wants to do in TJPW. She needs a lot of power to protect love and peace in TJPW so she figures the quickest way to get it is to win this tournament.

Shoko Nakajima believes she is the only one who can climb this mountain and win. She is currently a Princess Tag Team Champion and also the MLW Women’s Featherweight Champion. She also wants to face Mizuki in Round 2 for a champion versus champion match. But first she needs to become a kaiju that can step over a dragon. Normally Rika Tatsumi loves the summer but all of a sudden this steep mountain has appeared in front of her. She just heard about Yamashita targeting her and she has a score to settle with Nakajima after they fought each other to a time limit draw last December. And of course there is the chance she could face her beloved Mizuki in Round 2. However she wants to fight Mizuki in a rematch for the Princess Title after she wins the tournament so she is actually rooting for Yuki Aino to win and meet her in Round 2 instead!

While Yuki Arai has been skyrocketing up the company to main event Ota Ward next week, Yuki Kamifuku has been wrestling around Southeast Asia and having fun doing it. She now feels like if TJPW fired her today or tomorrow she would have no trouble surviving it. She wants to show the others that invincible people are the scariest. Suzume, Arai and Uehara all have matches they want to get in Round 2 but Kamifuku is going to be mean and not let them happen. Arai has been taking part in the Princess Cup every year since her debut. It helped her make progress one step at a time but this will be her first since graduating as an idol to focus solely on wrestling. She’s thankful to hear so many wrestlers want to fight her so she hopes to be at her strongest to surpass all of those opponents.

1. Miu Watanabe defeated Wakana Uehara with the Canadian Backbreaker (7:24).
2. Yuki Arai defeated Kaylia Capri with the Scorpion Death Lock (7:35).
3. 3 Way Match: Vert Vixen defeated Yuki Kamifuku and Raku when Vixen pinned Raku with the Blue Thunder Bomb (7:08).
4. Suzume & Arisu Endo defeated Moka Miyamoto & Shino Suzuki when Suzume pinned Suzuki with the Ring A Bell (8:28).
5. Special Single Match: Miyu Yamashita defeated Maki Itoh with the Skull Kick (14:00).
6. Shoko Nakajima & Hyper Misao defeated Mizuki & Pom Harajuku when Misao pinned Harajuku with the I Am A Hero (11:39).

So what have we learned after Tokyo Joshi Pro’s first night in Texas? It’s that the whole roster likes cowboy hats and Buc-ee’s apparently. In the main event Pom Harajuku briefly disappeared at the start only to return wearing a Buc-ee outfit to trick Hyper Misao into thinking it was the real mascot. Shoko Nakajima had to remove the hood to convince Misao it was Harajuku in disguise. Mizuki tried to attack Nakajima with her Pico Pico Hammer but accidentally hit the ref with it instead. Misao also blinded the ref by accident with her Hero Spray. Kyoraku Kyomei then poured the ring with gacha balls only to get slammed onto the pile themselves. Mizuki & Harajuku had the match in their hands until Harajuku missed the Pom de Justice aimed for Misao. Nakajima hit Harajuku with a Topé Suicida, Misao knocked down Mizuki with a Flying Elbow and then hit the I Am A Hero onto Harajuku to win the match. After the match Kyoraku Kyomei told the fans they love Texas because it has big energy and they will be back here tomorrow.

The result of the latest singles match between Miyu Yamashita and Maki Itoh was the same as all of the others. Despite Itoh’s best efforts and dedication to raising her middle finger, Yamashita knocked her down with the Skull Kick for the pinfall. Itoh gave her the middle finger again after the match and Yamashita raised her fist up to Itoh’s face. Backstage Yamashita talked how how much she enjoys wrestling Itoh in America because of how popular Itoh is over there. She was then interrupted by Itoh complaining about losing to her again. She also said it’s been a while since they last seen each other but Yamashita pointed out they were only recently in GCW together. But she’s over it now and she understands that 121000000 had to break up for her to get even stronger. She then offered a handshake but pulled away to give Yamashita the middle finger again before getting into another fight.

The tour has two preliminary matches for the next International Princess Title bout. The champion Suzume is off to a good start when she picked up the winning fall for Daisy Monkey in the first prelim tag match. The upcoming challenger Moka Miyamoto weakened her with a Tilt-O-Whirl Slam and left it to Shino Suzuki to try and finish her off. Instead Suzume put down Suzuki with the Ring A Bell for the victory. She said she likes the international feeling of doing the preview matches in America. Meanwhile Arisu Endo wonders how many fans in Japan were watching the match back home. Miyamoto said she will get a good night’s sleep and go into tomorrow’s match with a different mindset. Suzuki agrees with that advice and will do the same for her singles match tomorrow.

Raku brought along a stuffed toy of Buc-ee and kept it with her for pretty much the entire 3 Way Match. She used it while performing the Oyasumi Express on both Yuki Kamifuku and Vert Vixen. She even made it grab hold onto both opponents so she could do a Diving Poppo Chop but ended up accidentally hitting it instead! Vixen then had enough of the antics and threw the toy at Kamifuku before beating Raku with the Blue Thunder Bomb (or Red Ring Of Death as she sometimes calls it).

Although she was only officially part of Tokyo Joshi Pro for one year, Yoshiko Hasegawa touched many during her time there and was given a grand farewell for her graduation from pro wrestling. She was going to fight 27 other TJPW wrestlers for her retirement match! Just a few days earlier Hasegawa won the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title so her last match also doubled up as a title defence. One by one she got to fight different opponents who all in their own way showed their thanks to her. Then somehow Tetsuya Koda got dragged into the ring by Rika Tatsumi. She choked and stomped on Koda so Hasegawa could then pin him with a Knee Drop. The pinfall counted and Hasegawa was rewarded with the first fall.

The match continued on as a Best 2 Out Of 3 Falls contest. Hasegawa was getting overwhelmed by the massive numbers disadvantage until Kaya Toribami suddenly came to her aid! She had teamed with Hasegawa when she won the Iron Man Title during the weekend and Yoppy told her it was as if they were sharing the belt with each other. That seemed to have stuck with Toribami and she helped Yoppy fight against Daisy Monkey. But while Toribami tried to hold back Arisu Endo, Hasegawa ended up taking the Ring A Bell from Suzume and was pinned to lose the second fall. Suzume was now the Iron Man Champion but Miu Watanabe quickly put her in the Giant Swing and pinned her down afterwards to take the belt from her. That title reign also only lasted for a few seconds because Mizuki did the Whirling Candy on Watanabe to pin her for the belt.

For the third and final fall Hasegawa had reached exhaustion so everyone on the other team let Shoko Nakajima fight her one on one. Hasegawa was able to get a nearfall with the Diving Double Knee Attack but Nakajima wore her down with Elbow Strikes before finishing her off with the Double Arm DDT and Diving Senton combo. After the match Nakajima talked about the times she went to go watch Ganbare☆Pro and Daisuke Kiso would always mix her up with Yoppy because they both look the same from behind. She also said Hasegawa has never been selfish and was always respectful to others, even to the most junior wrestlers like Ren Konatsu. Because Hasegawa chose to end her career with TJPW, Nakajima told her to live her life selfishly from now on.

Hasegawa said she is always reserved and polite with everyone because she is always scared of being disliked. But TJPW is not like that because everyone here is unique. That is why when she decided on her retirement she allowed herself to be very selfish. In return TJPW made her the most wonderful road to retirement and she is grateful for it. Her graduation ceremony then took place where she was given gifts by Toribami and HIMAWARI on behalf of TJPW. Then some comedians (Miku Aono among them) Hasegawa had worked with outside of wrestling congratulated her. After that several women from Actwres girl’Z posed with her for a group photo. There was also her friends from GanPro and other indies showing up like Riara, YuuRI, Banny Oikawa and Erina Yamanaka. Even her debut opponent Tsukasa Fujimoto made an appearance to be in the ring with her one last time. The final guest to stand with her was Teppei Arita who had been doing guest commentary for the show.

Yoppy closed out the show with a speech. She debuted in 2019 and a lot had happened to her over the last 6 years, like breaking her neck. But she is happy to be standing in the ring the way she is right now. She lost her Iron Man Title but has gained something even more important from TJPW. She promised to support the company as a fan from now on and hopes to see everyone again at the shows. She then received her ten bell salute and retirement call to end the show.

Daydream were without their sasumata poles today and apparently Kyoraku Kyomei are to blame. Before their 6-Woman Tag Match began Hyper Misao said that she and Nakajima got rid of the poles and they are able to beat Daydream without them. Daydream thought on the fly when everyone fought out of the ring up to the aisleway. Watanabe suddenly picked up Tatsumi over her shoulder and Tatsumi made herself into the shape of a human sasumata to be used as a weapon on their opponents! Back in the ring Yuki Aino gave Toga the Bulldog Headlock and Nakajima followed up with the Northern Lights Suplex to get the win.

Raku wanted to sleep in the middle of the ring during the 3 Way Match so Mahiro Kiryu and Shino Suzuki each tried to quietly pin her. She kicked out in her sleep so Kiryu then tried to Body Slam Suzuki on top of her. Raku rolled out of the way and then rolled back on top of Suzuki so Kiryu had to break the pin. She threw Raku’s pillow away and apologised to her because she looked so comfortable sleeping.

The final two spots in the Tokyo Princess Cup have been filled. Today’s qualification matches were the last in the preliminary league. Moka Miyamoto defeated Toribami to take one of the final places. She expected Toribami to be tough coming off of her recent title match with Nakajima and is feeling glad she won. Miyamoto has a lot to look forward to before the Cup begins, such as the Texas tour and her International Princess Title match at Ota Ward Gymnasium. Toribami doesn’t think she was beaten in technique or spirit. She wonders if she just got too excited today? That might also explain why she decided to help out Hasegawa during her retirement match because she wanted to see Yoppy win.

The other last spot goes to HIMAWARI although she had to get a taste of her own medicine to earn it. Pom Harajuku came down to the ring wearing large hair extensions to use as a weapon similar to how HIMAWARI whips opponents with her own hair. Harajuku tricked Fumirin into holding the hair so they could Clothesline HIMAWARI together. However HIMAWARI dodged the Pom de Justice and put Harajuku in the Half Crab Hold. It was right in the centre of the ring so Harajuku gave up. HIMAWARI was prepared for this match and is ready to become the woman of the summer! Harajuku said she put all of her energy into this match because she couldn’t wrestle Haruna Neko in the first round. By carrying Neko’s feelings with her it caused her hair to grow long! But she understands her hair became way too long so she is going to work hard just little by little from now on.

At the start of the show Hyper Misao announced there will be a repeat performance of “HYPE! 3” being held at Kitazawa Town Hall on 3rd August! She explained she wasn’t in perfect physical and mental condition for the show which led to her making decisions she would not have done under normal circumstances. Now she is back in perfect condition she wants to do the show again!

Sometime after the show ended, Mizuki was hanging out backstage with the Iron Man Title and also her trusty Pico Pico Hammer. Raku approached her and sang her to sleep with a lullaby in an attempt to win the belt. However Raku felt sleepy too and took a nap while the referee noticed the hammer resting on top of Mizuki’s sleeping body. He counted to three and declared the Pico Pico Hammer as the new champion! Then shortly after that Sanshiro Takagi found out what happened. He found the hammer, gave it the Stunner and pinned it to become the new champion.

TJPW Texas Tour Line-Ups Revealed

The full cards for all three Tokyo Joshi Pro shows for their tour of Texas have been announced. A lot of the matches will be building towards “SUMMER SUN PRINCESS ’25” later in the month so you are getting as close to the genuine article as TJPW can give you in America. So far the two nights in Houston are both sold out while tickets for the “Dallas” show are still available. As an added bonus, Sayuri Namba will be the special ring announcer for all three shows! She’s already going to be in North America by that point so why not have her show up so soon after graduating.

Night 1 features the Princess Of Princess Champion facing the Princess Tag Team Champions in one of the feature matches. Pom Harajuku is the odd one out but as long as Mizuki doesn’t steal her shoes again they should get along well enough to fight Kyoraku Kyomei together. There is also a prelim match relating to the International Princess Title as Suzume and Moka Miyamoto lock horns once again with Arisu Endo and Shino Suzuki along for the ring.

Meanwhile the 11th singles match between Miyu Yamashita and Maki Itoh takes place. Can Itoh finally get a win over her former 121000000 teammate? A new face showing up in the lineup is Kaylia Capri as a singles opponent for Yuki Arai to focus on.

Yamashita will not be on the show for reasons not announced yet but she is involved in a morning meet and greet happening before the show.

Then after a day’s rest the tour comes to an end with a battle between the original Itoh Respect Army. That’s right it’s Mizuki Vs Itoh! Yamashita comes back to team with Vixen against the wild card AEW tag team of Yuka Sakazaki & Billie Starkz. This show will also feature the rematch of TJPW’s 2024 match of the year when Watanabe faces Shoko Nakajima.

That’s not all because Daisy Monkey ends the tour taking on the Ober Eats team of Yuki Kamifuku & Wakana Uehara. Also Maya World and Alejandra Quintanilla make their TJPW debuts taking on Arai and Miyamoto respectively.

1. Exhibition Match: Ai Shimizu Vs Yoshiko Hasegawa ended in a Time Limit Draw (3:00).
2. Shoko Nakajima defeated Ren Konatsu with the Unmanned Local Train Hold (7:53).
3. Suzume & Arisu Endo defeated Gabai Ji-chan & Mahiro Kiryu when Suzume pinned Kiryu with the Ring A Bell (12:41).
4. Tae Honma & Miyuki Takase defeated Yoshiko Hasegawa & Kaya Toribami when Honma submitted Hasegawa with an Arm Lock (13:59).
*Special Referee: Nao Kakuta
5. Mizuki & Miu Watanabe defeated Haru Kazashiro & Uta Takami when Mizuki pinned Kazashiro with the Cutie Special (17:14).

The present main eventers of Tokyo Joshi Pro fought against two possible future main eventers on today’s TJPW Inspiration show. Haru Kazashiro grabbed Mizuki in an Armbreaker while Uta Takami jumped onto Miu Watanabe to apply the Koala Clutch. However Watanabe was able to break up both submission holds by slamming Takami onto Kazashiro. Mizuki then blocked Kazashiro from doing the Fisherman Suplex and cut her off by the ropes with a Diving Foot Stomp. She then won the match using the Cutie Special. Mizuki asked for a handshake after the match but then ignored the other team when they offered her one. Watanabe did shake hands with Kazashiro but ignored Takami for some reason. Mizuki thanked everyone for coming to the show because it was TJPW’s first time at TOKYO SQUARE In Itabashi. She’s expecting the summer to get hot but it’s already becoming too hot for her right now. Watanabe said everybody thinks of them as princesses so today you can call them Princess Tag!

Nao Kakuta made a special appearance on the show to officiate a tag match between Yoshiko Hasegawa & Kaya Toribami and Tae Honma & Miyuki Takase. The latter team started to argue with each other when things weren’t going their way. Kakuta tried to calm them down when Honma decided that Kakuta was the only one on her side. The two of them then Irish Whipped everyone else into the corner. Takase then tried using Kakuta for double team moves by Suplexing her onto Hasegawa but Kakuta reversed it and Hasegawa rolled away. Takase used a Missile Dropkick to take down Haseawa & Toribami. Honma gave Hasegawa a Modified DDT for a nearfall and then put her in an Arm Lock to make her give up. Kakuta was later asked if she would like to be a referee again. She doesn’t plan to but if she’s given another opportunity she wouldn’t mind taking it. Toribami complained about Kakuta playing favorites in the match but Kakuta, Honma & Takase told her it was all in her head.

In a promotion that is usually filled with youthful, fast paced wrestlers Gabai Ji-chan slowed things down with his elderly movements. He also thought he was teaming up with Daisy Monkey until Daisuke Kiso guided him over to Mahiro Kiryu’s corner. There were moments when Ji-chan was able to keep up with Suzume & Arisu Endo until his body couldn’t take it anymore. Maybe it’s all in the cane because he threw it towards Suzume and when she caught it, all of a sudden she was bent over double moving like an old lady. Ji-chan then kicked the cane away making Suzume collapse on the mat. He then went for the Swanton Bomb but Endo pulled Suzume out of the way, causing a chain reaction where Kiryu was pulled into Suzume’s place and Ji-chan landed onto the back of her legs instead. Endo took down Ji-chan with a Neckbreaker Drop and Suzume then pinned Kiryu with the Ring A Bell.

The rookie Ren Konatsu was given a big chance to wrestle Shoko Nakajima one on one. The match was mostly grapple based with Konatsu applying a Sleeper only for Nakajima to collapse it. Konatsu tried turning it into a Cradle but Nakajima rolled out of that too and maneuvered everything into catching her opponent with the Unmanned Local Train Hold for the tap out.

Hasegawa wrestled twice on the show, although the first bout was only a three minute exhibition. Ai Shimizu was invited back to wrestle in TJPW for the first time in 9 years just so Hasegawa could get a chance to wrestler her, even if it was just for a brief moment in time. Three minutes obviously wasn’t enough time to determine a winner and the time ran out while Hasegawa was kicking out of a Romero Special and putting Shimizu into a her own submission hold. Afterwards Hasegawa pointed out that Shimizu never actually retired from pro wrestling so she would love to see what she will do next. The two have happy memories together and Shimizu thanked Hasegawa for choosing her as one of her last opponents before retirement. Similar to what Kakuta said above, Shimizu told reporters that if an offer comes her way she may be interested in wrestle again if her schedule allows it.

Today was Rise Shirai’s first complete show as TJPW’s new ring announcer. She was joined by Chika Nanase for the show’s opening call.
