DDT Around The World – May 2026

June 1, 2026

It happened. It’s now done. AEW finally made it to Konosuke Takeshita’s match with Kazuchika Okada and got Takeshita out of The Don Callis Family. At last we can move on with our lives and wait to see if Takeshita’s babyface turn will turn out to be more than just a lateral move. His wife Yuka Sakazaki got some more screentime on ROH this month including a PPV main event. MAO & Yoshihiko brought Kazuma Sumi along on their latest adventure in France, giving Sumi some invaluable overseas experience away from DDT. Chris Brookes gave Munetatsu Nakamura a similar opportunity with a wild weekend over in Manila. Will the summer provide even more wrestling to follow around the globe or can we all take a break for the World Cup? Yeah, yeah, yeah, it’s being ruined by American corporate greed and so on but Blue Lock seems to be timing their latest story arc to climax by the time the final takes place so that gives me something to look forward to after Ireland failed to qualify. Also getting to watch South Korea Vs Czech Republic at 3am is the kind of football sicko behavior that’s been missing in my life for a while.

ROH “SUPERCARD SHOWDOWN”, 09/05/2026 (Aired 14/05/2026)
SoFi Center, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, USA

1. Athena, Billie Starkz & Marina Shafir defeated Yuka Sakazaki, Maya World, Lacey Lane when Athena pinned Lane after the Swanton Bomb from Starkz

So Ring Of Honor taped a few matches at the same indoor golf course AEW was at last month and they didn’t let Yuka Sakazaki loose around the place? That was a missed opportunity. Instead her warmup match for Survival Of The Fittest also involved some of the other participants Athena, Billie Starkz and Maya World. However a lot of Sakazaki’s time in this match was spent wrestling with Marina Shafir and also building up the hot tag to Lacey Lane. She also hit a big dive out of the ring onto Shafir and World but that left Lane fighting on her own. Starkz gave Lane the Swanton Bomb but not before Athena blind tagged herself in so she could get the pinfall and take the glory for herself.

AEW “DYNAMITE”, 13/05/2026
Harrah’s Cherokee Center, Asheville, North Carolina, USA

1. AEW World Title: Darby Allin (c) defeated Konosuke Takeshita with the Coffin Drop (15:29).
*V5 for Darby Allin.

Even though Takeshita’s match with Okada was already on the schedule, he was given a big detour a few weeks before the show by getting an AEW World Title shot. It was the latest defence in Darby Allin’s eventful title run where he crammed in many title defences into one month. Takeshita couldn’t get the job done fast enough so El Clon ran down to distract the ref while Don Callis handed Takeshita the Dynamite Diamond Ring to use as a weapon. Takeshita refused to use it and threw it away. Too bad moral victories don’t win you championships because Allin made his comeback after that which included a Coffin Drop to the outside and also the Scorpion Death Drop on top of the steel steps. He hit another Coffin Drop outside the ring but Takeshita wouldn’t be beaten that way. He tried to make a comeback of his own but Allin cut it off with the Scorpion Death Lock, keeping Takeshita down long enough to land one more Coffin Drop for the win.

ROH “SUPERCARD OF HONOR”, 15/05/2026
Wicomico Youth And Civic Center, Salisbury, Maryland, USA

1. ROH Women’s World Title – Survival Of The Fittest Match: Athena (c) defeated Maya World, Trish Adora, Zada Steel, Yuka Sakazaki and Billie Starkz (26:12).
1a. Athena eliminated Zayda Steel with a Rope-Assisted School Boy (5:01).
1b. Yuka Sakazaki eliminated Trish Adora with the Magical Merry-Go-Round (15:39).
1c. Billie Starkz eliminated Yuka Sakazaki with the Avalanche Star 10 (17:27).
1d. Maya World eliminated Billie Starkz with a Jackknife Pin (21:47).
1e. Athena eliminated Maya World with the O-Face from the Ladder (26:12).
*V36 for Athena.

This turned out to be a mess of a match. It turned into a Hardcore Match midway through because of the whole “No DQs In In X Way Match” booking cliche so Sakazaki got to do an American style plunder match for once. She also scored an elimination by pinning Trish Adora with the Magical Merry-Go-Round. Her time in the match came to an end a few minutes later when some high risk fighting ended with Sakazaki taking Starkz’s finisher from the top rope.

GCW/BZW “NOW OR NEVER”, 23/05/2026
Espace Isabelle de Hainaut, Rue de Saint-Quentin, Bapaume, France

1. BZW Tag Team Titles – 3 Way Tag Match: MBM & Ultima Sombra defeated MAO & Yoshihiko (c) and Jimmy Lloyd & Jeffrey John when MBM pinned Yoshihiko with the Reincarnation Reversal (15:27).
*MAO & Yoshihiko fail in V8. Rivality become the 7th BZW Tag Team Champions!
2. DDT Universal Title – 3 Way Match: Kazuma Sumi (c) defeated Gringo Loco and Leedz Lewis when Sumi pinned Lewis with the Reverse 450 Splash (14:22).
*V2 for Kazuma Sumi.

Kazuma Sumi’s goal of defending the DDT Universal Title overseas finally came to pass this month. MAO got him booked for the BZW collab show with GCW in France. His match wasn’t an easy task at all because he had to fight the former Universal Champion Gringo Loco as well as French wrestler Leedz Lewis in a 3 Way bout where he could lose the title without being pinned. Sumi made the most of his moment and pinned Lewis with the Reverse 450 Splash to keep the belt and impress the fans in attendance. He said afterward that he now has a great sense of accomplishment because he can go do his style of wrestling anywhere in the world. He is eager to compete overseas again and spread his name around the planet.

The same success wasn’t there for MAO & Yoshihiko. Their year and a half long reign as BZW Tag Team Champions finally came to an end in a 3 Way Tag against a BZW team and a GCW team. Everybody brawled out of the venue and Yoshihiko did a dive off of a truck to put Jimmy Lloyd through a table. Rivality brought the belts back to their home promotion in the end when MBM found a counter to Yoshihiko’s finishing move, reversing the pin into one of his own for the three count. MAO feels happy that he got to wreak havoc in four different countries while holding the belts with Yoshihiko. His next goal in BZW is to win a singles championship so then some day DDT can hold a show in Europe!

2. Dexcon World Title: Jake De Leon (c) defeated Chris Brookes (?:??).
*V5 for Jake De Leon.

Another packed weekend in the Philippines is in the books for Brookes. He wasn’t able to come back to Japan with another championship because Jake De Leon was able to defend his Dexcon World Title against him. Munetatsu Nakamura was also part of the Dexcon weekend, taking part in a high flying 4 Way Match where Robin Sane picked up the win over Shaheen.

AEW “DOUBLE OR NOTHING”, 24/05/2026
Louis Armstrong Stadium, New York City, New York, USA

1. AEW International Title: Konosuke Takeshita defeated Kazuchika Okada (c) with the Raging Fire (19:01).
*Kazuchika Okada fails in V10. Konosuke Takeshita becomes the 13th AEW International Champion!

Being at the show live I can tell you the building was very excited to see Okada Vs Takeshita happen with the match graphic on the pre-show getting one of the largest pops out of the lineup. The match was fantastic even with the Don Callis drama at ringside happening midway through. Callis tried to play neutral by telling Okada not to risk injuring Takeshita. While Okada reluctantly followed that instruction, Takeshita did not do the same when Callis gave him the same order. It still took a lot for Takeshita to finally beat Okada, countering the Rainmaker with his own Lariat and then hitting a big Elbow Strike when the Wagamama only got a one count. But when he finally used the Raging Fire there was no fight left in Okada to kick out and Takeshita became the new AEW International Champion! The sweet taste of victory was quickly spoiled when The Don Callis Family all looked to turn on Takeshita after the match. Kyle Fletcher made his big return from injury to hug Takeshita only to turn on him with a backstabbing attack, confirming that our guy is now kicked out of the Family.

AEW “COLLISION”, 30/05/2026
Propst Arena At Von Braun Center, Huntsville, Alabama, USA

1. AEW International Title: Konosuke Takeshita (c) defeated Daniel Garcia with the Raging Fire (14:27).
*V1 for Konosuke Takeshita.

Takeshita had to get over the heartbreak of ProtoShita being split up by having his first International Title defence against Daniel Garcia. A wrestler like Garcia has some tricks up his sleeve, like countering Takeshita’s top rope Clothesline into an Arm Drag to the canvas where he then applied the Sharpshooter. Takeshita blocked a rolling cradle that would have set up another submission hold, turning it over to a German Suplex. The big Elbow Strike after that set up the Raging Fire and Takeshita got his first defence in the bag, all while Jon Moxley was watching on from the commentary table. Members of The Don Callis Family ran into the ring to attack Takeshita after the match while outside the ring the Death Riders and Shane Taylor Promotions all suddenly appeared to brawl with each other. If that wasn’t chaotic enough, The Conglomeration entered the fight and cleared the room so it was only them and Takeshita left in the ring. So we end the month with Takeshita finding a new bunch of friends (or an old friend in Mike Bailey’s case).

DDT Around The World – Late April 2026

May 1, 2026

I haven’t gotten around to looking into what happened on Tokyo Joshi Pro’s two European shows outside of the basic results. All I know is Miyu Yamashita has more plans coming up to wrestle across the world this year. While she doesn’t have to wait long until she packs her suitcase again, Daisuke Sasaki is emptying his after finishing up his month long journey across North America. He found a few more places in America to wrestle in before he made the trip back home.

It’s a little hard to tell if the summer is going to get busier for overseas bookings. Is there much of an appetite for international wrestling when the World Cup is going to be on? CMLL is counting on it and Konosuke Takeshita has at least one date with them in June. I’m going to curse out the company if they use their AI poster art to make him look like a Captain Tsubasa drawing.

Sasaki is one of the more likely DDT wrestlers to go in search of lucha libre when he travels over to the Americas. He didn’t go visit Mexico this time around but he got down there close enough by getting a lucha booking in LA. While there he got to lock horns with Drago as part of a trios match. Sasaki and his rudo partners beat down the other team and held Torito Negro in the Kaientai pose. Genio del Aire tried to make a big counter attack by doing a jumping Hurricanrana to Ultimo Maldito from the human tower only to crash on top of his own head and neck in a disasterous looking botch. Drago inspired the tecnico team’s comeback and both of his partners Moonsaulted out of the ring onto Doble Cara & Maldito. That left Sasaki to duke it out with Drago but he was whipped around into the Tail Of The Dragon llave pin, losing the match to the veteran luchador.

LABOR OF LOVE “THE EXHIBITION”, 25/04/2026
Icebox Project Space, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

1. Anything Goes: Big Callux defeated Daisuke Sasaki with the Black Hole Slam (?:??).

The final stopping point for Sasaki was at The City Of Brotherly Love. Too bad Sasaki hates love because all it ever did was hurt him. The Philly indie scene isn’t what it used to be and hasn’t been for a very long time. But Labor Of Love has popped up to try and find its place in a world that has long since moved on from the days when the corner of Swanson and Ritner St was considered the centrepoint of the American indies. Sasaki went to Philadelphia for a fight with Big Callux where before the match the stipulation was revealed to be Anything Goes. Callux brought along a bag of gifts for Sasaki that included a Gritty toy. Sasaki ripped it in half and threw the remains into the crowd! Callux then gave Sasaki a bouquet of roses but Sasaki just attacked him with them. More fighting broke out with a chair, a chain and also a hockey stick being used as weapons. Sasaki got into the hockey vibes by putting on a Pittsburgh Penguins jersey to piss off the Philly fans even more. He tried to put Callux in the Crossface Lock with the chain to assist him but Callux powered out of it. Sasaki then got the upper hand by unmasking Callux as a distraction to hit him over the head with the chair and then Pedigree him onto it. Callux kicked out though and threw Sasaki from the top rope onto the chair laid out in the middle of the ring. He then hit the Black Hole Slam to win the match, much like how the Philadelphia Flyers went on to win the series against the Penguins in the NHL playoffs a couple of days later.

7. KO-D Openweight Title & DDT Universal Title: Yuki Ueno (c/c) defeated Super Sasadango Machine with a Dropkick (27:16).
*V3 for the KO-D Openweight Title. V1 for the DDT Universal Title.

High hopes and grand ambitions for the future spurred on Super Sasadango Machine as he found himself fighting Yuki Ueno for DDT’s top two championships in Korakuen Hall today. He spent the time leading up to the match working out with a personal trainer, had revealed the Reverse Shrimp Hold as his deadly secret weapon he had kept hidden for around two decades and he was watched over by Konosuke Takeshita in his corner for the match. The big problem though was Ueno banned Sasadango from giving any PowerPoint Presentations until this match took place, sapping away Sasadango’s creativity. Or did it? As he held Ueno in the Reverse Shrimp Hold, fighting to stop the champion from reaching the ropes “Etupirka” began to play and a spiritual PowerPoint Presentation was broadcast directly into the minds of everyone watching the match! In it Sasadango revealed then if he wins the KO-D Openweight Title and DDT Universal Title today, he will nominate Ueno to be his first challenger and hold the rematch at the 3rd January Korakuen show next year. Then the next day Sasadango will invade the Tokyo Dome to take over New Japan’s big show! Unfortunately for Sasadango the bonus motivation didn’t work and Ueno made it to the ropes to break his secret hold. Ueno also kicked out of the Vertical Drop Lehman Shock even though Sasadango hit the move three times throughout the match. Sasadango’s last plan was to simply use a Dropkick on Ueno but the champion got back up and did several Dropkicks of his own. Sasadango kicked out of the BME and the two wrestlers began Dropkicking each other back and forth. They both kept kicking out of the pins until Sasadango got Dropkicked in the face one time too many and couldn’t kick out anymore.

After the match Ueno thanked Sasadango for doing his best and asked him if they really can make the dream of bringing DDT to the Tokyo Dome come true? Sasadango said it is not a dream at all and it is their responsibility to take all of the DDT fans to that destination. If everybody puts their minds to it, they can definitely make it to the Tokyo Dome and fill it up for an amazing view! Ueno admitted he will never become an icon like Hiroshi Tanahashi but that’s okay. Sasadango advised him to just be himself and then left. Later during his backstage comments, Sasadango talked about the opportunities that will open up when Tanahashi retires for other wrestlers to become the next icon for the entire industry, not just in New Japan. There are so many things that need to be done for DDT to get to the Tokyo Dome but Sasadango promised he will work hard to help make it happen, especially since we are not that far off from DDT celebrating its 30th Anniversary.

But that’s still way off in the future. Ueno is also thinking about what he’s going to do next. Hisaya Imabayashi told him his next singles title match will happen on the 21st December Korakuen show and Ueno was allowed to choose his opponent. Ueno decided he will defend the KO-D Title against one of the D GENERATIONS wrestlers and the challenger would be determined right away with a Rock Paper Scissors tournament! He explained it would be the fairest way to quickly determine the No. 1 Contender and it is also an idea that has been passed down through DDT since ancient times. In the end, Takeshi Masada beat Yuki Ishida in the final to earn the title shot. Ueno asked him what does he want to do if he becomes champion? Masada said he will prove that he is the future of DDT. Ueno told him he has plenty of time to do that so he should say something that will make Ueno want to beat him. Masada said he will make Ueno feel despair when he beats him on the 21st!

Fresh off of losing winning his first match in the Continental Classic at AEW last week, Takeshita made it all the way back to DDT for a special rematch against Shinya Aoki. He brought the IWGP World Heavyweight Title with him but the match was a non-title bout. Aoki brought the challenge, finding unique ways to use his moves on Takeshita. He avoided being pinned with the Blue Thunder Bomb by applying a Cross Armbreaker and also used the setup for the Aoki Clutch as a feint to roll Takeshita into the European Clutch instead. Takeshita got the better of him though by escaping his different cradle pins and using a Backslide to roll himself on top of Aoki and pin him with a bridging Jackknife. Takeshita said backstage that he cannot afford to lose anywhere right now because the Tokyo Dome is waiting for him. He isn’t just talking about 4th January because as long as he is with DDT, he wants to go to the Tokyo Dome with DDT! He also sees how much the D GENERATIONS have improved and thinks DDT is in good hands with them around. Aoki is coming off of a recent MMA defeat in ONE FC and said how strange it is that today he feels he is back where he belongs. To him, martial arts and MMA are all part of the same rules as pro wrestling and he has come to love modern pro wrestling.

A grudge match over the KO-D Tag Team Titles pushed Strange Love Connection to bring in an extra ringside second alongside KIMIHIRO to even up the numbers against DAMNATION T.A. During the entrance KIMIHIRO introduced everyone to the stage actress Yuzuki Hoshimoto who was armed with a whip and also an illuminated blade shaped bat. However she didn’t turn out to do much when DAMNATION T.A attacked the champions during their entrance. She whipped MJ Paul a bit but he just shoved her against the ring apron in response. Things went worse for SLC when MAO’s attempted stage dive missed the target and he landed on KANON instead. Daisuke Sasaki continued to attack them with chairs, even Body Slamming KIMIHIRO onto a pile of them. Paul & Demus added more damage with interference spots but MAO got his own back by wiping them out at ringside with a Quebrada. Sasaki held MAO in La Mistica Crossface Lock while Hideki Okatani went to finish the job but KANON made a comeback on the two of them. As much as Okatani tried to harm KANON’s hand, he couldn’t stop him from doing the LONELY DEZIRES, giving SLC a hard earned victory and KANON his revenge.

After the match KANON spoke about having confidence now and proving he is not unwanted because he has friends who support him. SLC beat DAMNATION T.A but they don’t want their title run to end here. They heard that earlier today F-SWAG were telling everyone they want a title shot. MAO thinks it’s great that teams from outside DDT now want to fight for the KO-D Tag Titles because he needs new opponents to help himself and KANON grow stronger together. Meanwhile DAMNATION T.A were coming up with excuses for losing. Sasaki blamed it on bad calls while Okatani had regrets over not using his bamboo stick because he thought he could win without it.

Gambling was the name of the game when it came to today’s DDT Extreme Title match. Well actually the name of the match was Weapon Gamble but you know what I mean. To-y and Sanshiro Takagi spent over a week gambling their money in the hopes of raising funds for weapons to use in this match. Neither of them won anything substantial so they were reduced to finding weapons they didn’t have to pay for. The extra catch was every time a new weapon was introduced, they would have to play a card game where the person who drew the higher number would be allowed use the weapon on his opponent. One instance of this backfiring was when Takagi brought in a group of unpaid amateur indie wrestlers. To-y won the card game so all of the wrestlers attacked Takagi instead. The next item was a briefcase that To-y won the right to use but Takagi grabbed it and ran off. When the indie wrestlers chased after him, Takagi pulled out a spray can from the briefcase and blinded everyone with it. The Dramatic Dream was next and Takagi got to crash it into everyone up in the aisleway. Another bicycle was brought out but this one belonged to To-y’s parents! He and Takagi then crashed their bikes into each other. Then came the most dangerous weapon of the match: A parent-teacher meeting with To-y’s mother Miwa Kojima! Takagi won the card game so he got to tell Miwa about To-y’s gambling problem, claiming To-y has taken it so far that he has stolen Takagi’s money to fund it! Miwa also revealed her credit card is constantly in debt because of her son so she asked Takagi to help her. Takagi smashed a plastic case over To-y’s head as punishment which shocked Miwa. She had a sudden change of heart and slapped Takagi across the face, stunning him long enough for To-y to give him the Kojima In Wonderland onto the plastic cases for the victory. Mother and son hugged each other afterwards but To-y admitted he cannot quit gambling. He promised to make enough money to pay it all back though and then make even more money so he can gamble even more without it going to waste. He admits when you hold the Extreme Title you lose track of what is right and what is wrong. However he will always be authentic.

The first DDT tour for the Belgian tag team Rivality came to an end today with them getting to team up with Jun Akiyama & HARASHIMA. The four of them all joined forces to face the temporary alliance of SCHADENFREUDE International and Harimao. Early on MBM & Ultima Sombra got to experience the SCHADENFREUDE Tower spot from both sides. Sombra was the one getting punished while MBM got to pose on top of him with everyone else. Sombra also took the full brunt of the rubber band spot from Chris Brookes. Akiyama fought Naomi Yoshimura for the more serious part of the match but the finish came down to Masada & Ishida hitting their finishers on both members of MBM at the same time, leading to Masada pinning MBM.

As mentioned earlier, F-SWAG has come to DDT and they are looking for gold. Jun Masaoka & Gaia Hox made the most of the chaos that went on to win the 3 Way Tag Match against The Apex and DAMNATION T.A. They formed an alliance with Demus & Ilusion at first but betrayed them as soon as the opportunity arose. Hox wiped out Yuki Iino & Yukio Naya with a dive then made it back into the ring to help Masaoka finish off Ilusion for the victory. After the match F-SWAG got on the microphone and said they wanted to face the winners of the KO-D Tag Titles match on 21st December because that is the only date they have open that month. DDT better watch out!

After a month long delay in recovery, Danshoku Dieno finally got to make his triumphant return to the ring. Too bad the match began while he was making his entrance through the audience and Antonio Honda submitted to Kazusada Higuchi’s Claw Hold six seconds in. Imabayashi got mad at Dieno’s moment being ruined and ordered a restart. The match went on without a hitch with all of the Lip Locks and partial nudity you’d want in a Dieno match. Toru Owashi didn’t get a Lip Lock though despite anticipating he would. Dieno had extra pent up energy built up from his time away and it was used to charge up the Hirata Go! glasses and also Gongitsune (as well as a portable battery belonging to a fan at ringside). Kazuki Hirata turned the charged up Gongitsune against Honda in order to pin him with the Miracle One Shot Cradle.

In the dark match Akito, Daichi Sato & Yuya Koroku all teamed up to defeat Soma Takao, Rukiya & Hinata Kasai. Takao & Rukiya tried to break down Sato with a Sandwich Elbow attack so Kasai could hit him with a Missile Dropkick. Sato got back at Kasai with a Fisherman Suplex and pinned him with a Penalty Kick.

Two big matches featuring Kaisei Takechi were announced for December and January to help him prepare for his “WRESTLE KINGDOM” appearance. On 21st December he will team with HARASHIMA to face Yuji Nagata & Sanshiro Takagi. Then on 3rd January Takechi will defend the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles with The 37KAMIINA against SLC & Kazuma Sumi.

Ueno Vs Sasadango, Sasaki Gets A Title Match For Turning 40, Rivality Coming To DDT

November 5, 2025

DDT “RYOGOKU AFTER ~IT’S A WONDERFUL BATTLE~”, 06/11/2025
Shinjuku FACE

1. Demus & Ilusion Vs Kazuki Hirata & Akito
2. Special Tag Match: Naomi Yoshimura & Kumadori Vs Soma Takao & Hinata Kasai
3. Harimao Vs SCHADENFREUDE International: Kazusada Higuchi & Yuki Ishida Vs Chris Brookes & Takeshi Masada
4. Special Tag Match: Minoru Suzuki & HARASHIMA Vs Yukio Naya & Daichi Sato
5. KANON, Yuya Koroku & Rukiya (w/ KIMIHIRO) Vs Daisuke Sasaki, Hideki Okatani & MJ Paul
6. Special Single Match: KONOSUKE TAKESHITA Vs Antonio Honda
7. Special 6-Man Tag Match: Yuki Ueno, To-y & Kazuma Sumi Vs Super Sasadango Machine, Sanshiro Takagi & Jun Akiyama

The locker room coming out of Sumo Hall is feeling a little lighter going into tomorrow’s DDT show. MAO and Yuki Iino are both off the show because they are feeling in poor condition. Also Danshoku Dieno will remain out of action for the rest of the month so he will be at full fitness when he returns.

There will be a contract signing during the show for Yuki Ueno and Super Sasadango Machine. It will be for their double title match taking place later in the month.

DDT “TONKOTSU SUPLEX”, 08/11/2025
ACROS Fukuoka Event Hall

6. Special 6-Man Tag Match: KONOSUKE TAKESHITA, Daisuke Sasaki & Ilusion Vs MAO, KANON & Kazuma Sumi

DDT “KUMAMOTO WARRIORS”, 09/11/2025
Kumamoto Castle Hall Civic Hall

1. Demus Vs Kazuma Sumi
2. Daisuke Sasaki, Hideki Okatani, MJ Paul & Ilusion V Chris Brookes, Yuki Iino, Takeshi Masada & Hinata Kasai
3. MAO & KANON (w/ KIMIHIRO) Vs Akito & Yukio Naya
4. Special Single Match: Kazusada Higuchi Vs Yuya Koroku
5. Special 3 Way Match: Yuki Ueno Vs Jun Akiyama Vs Kazuki Hirata
6. Kumamoto Castle Sauna No Yu Presents Special 6-Man Tag Match: KONOSUKE TAKESHITA, Sanshiro Takagi & HARASHIMA Vs To-y, Daichi Sato & Yuki Ishida

I think this will be Takeshita’s last DDT booking for the time being unless new dates get mentioned for the end of the year.

DDT “SHOUT YOUR LOVE IN HAMA’S RING!”, 22/11/2025
Kanagawa Radiant Hall

1. Akito 16th Anniversary Match: Kazuki Hirata & Soma Takao Vs Rukiya & Hinata Kasai
*Special Referee: Akito
2. Special Tag Match: MAO & Kazuma Sumi Vs MBM & Ultima Sombra
3. O-40 Title: Antonio Honda (c) Vs Daisuke Sasaki

On 22nd November Daisuke Sasaki will turn 40 years old. As soon as he realized he will become eligible for the O-40 Title he went and challenged Antonio Honda to a title match.

From this point on to the end of November DDT will be joined by a guest tag team from BZW in Europe. Rivality consists of Belgian wrestlers MBM & Ultima Sombra who may sound familiar to those who followed MAO & Yoshihiko’s adventures around Europe in 2024. They beat Rivality on a BZW show in France but haven’t fought each other since then. Yoshihiko is out injured but as far as I know MAO & Yoshihiko still hold the BZW Tag Team Titles together. Rivality’s first match in DDT puts them in the ring against MAO again so maybe that thread will get back on track.

To celebrate his 16th Anniversary in wrestling, Akito will don the stripes and officiate a match rather than wrestle in it. I bet Kazuki Hirata ruins it somehow.

Demus will be on the show too.

DDT “GORGEOUS NIGHT”, 23/11/2025
Fukushima Toyota Crown Arena (Fukushima National Sports Festival Memorial Gymnasium) Sub-Arena in Fukushima

1. Special Tag Match: To-y & Takeshi Masada Vs MBM & Ultima Sombra
2. Special Tag Match: Chris Brookes & Arisu Endo Vs Kazuki Hirata & Moeka Haruhi
3. Special 6-Man Tag Match: Yuki Ueno, Jun Akiyama & Antonio Honda Vs Gorgeous Matsuno, MAO & Toru Owashi

DDT puts the spotlight back on Gorgeous Matsuno for his annual Fukushima show. Can he make it extra special by beating the double champ Ueno?

The show also features a first time ever team up of Chris Brookes & Arisu Endo! Makes sense to have Endo on the show because her hometown Aizuwakamatsu is in Fukushima. They’re joining forces for a Mixed Tag Match against Hirata & Moeka Haruhi.

Demus? Also on the show.

DDT “KAZUMA SUMI TRIUMPHANT RETURN! SUMI SOARS FOR MIE!”, 24/11/2025
Mie Cultural Center Multipurpose Hall

1. 3 Way Match: HARASHIMA Vs Kazuki Hirata Vs Akito
2. Yuki Iino & Yukio Naya Vs MJ Paul & Demus
3. Special 6-Man Tag Match: MAO, KANON & Kazuma Sumi Vs Daisuke Sasaki, Hideki Okatani & Ilusion

The hometown hero position will be given to Kazuma Sumi next when DDT rolls into Mie. Him and Strange Love Connection vanquishing DAMNATION T.A will make Sumi even more of a hero.

Guess who will be here? Demus.

Rivality will be on this show too.

DDT “BE AMBITIOUS ~AUTUMN BATTLE~”, 30/11/2025
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. DDT Extreme Title: To-y (c) Vs Sanshiro Takagi
2. KO-D Openweight Title & DDT Universal Title: Yuki Ueno (c/c) Vs Super Sasadango Machine

Yuki Ueno now holds both the KO-D Openweight Title and the DDT Universal Title. His next challenger is an unusual one but has a convincing enough reason to be in this position. They had a match late last year where afterwards Ueno promised to give Sasadango a title shot once he became the KO-D Champion again. Well Ueno won the belt not once but twice in 2025 and yet Sasadango never got was was promised to him. To make up for it, Ueno is also putting the Universal Title on the line since he just won it from Minoru Suzuki and Sasadango once had a retirement match against Suzuki (as Muscle Sakai).

The DDT Extreme Champion of the Reiwa era has one more opponent from the title’s past threatening to take the belt off of him. To-y was given a Stunner by Sanshiro Takagi at Sumo Hall as a reminder that the championship was originally created by Takagi in the first place. It is always a good thing for a DDT wrestler be given the opportunity to drive the boss nuts in a crazy match.

The expectation is for Dieno to be fully recovered from his health problems in time to make his return on this show.

I think I lost Demus… Nope, he’s on this show and so will Rivality. Phew, that was a close one. I almost had to panic there.

DDT Around The World – February 2024

March 1, 2024

I can feel it in the air, the road towards Wrestlemania Week has begun. There’s not too much to talk about what happened in February but the announcements for what’s going down in Philadelphia this April are beginning to drip out. Konosuke Takeshita is getting set to be the welcoming party for AEW’s newest big signing, Miyu Yamashita has another American tour on the way and Maki Itoh is back in action with a return to GCW coming very soon. That’s not all, Mizuki Watase is going to be in Philly that week and is currently looking for bookings. I hope he gets some because the few matches he was able to do last year I thought got him over in the venues. His problem seems to be a lack of international coverage for his body of work in Japan. You have to see him in action to get him.

The other story of the month is MAO and Yoshihiko’s European tour. They kept it short and sweet with only two bookings in a weekend but it seems to have done wonders for MAO. He’s been booming with confidence ever since and it shows with his recent DDT performances. I can’t put my finger on what exactly made him improve lately but he has put it all together in a complete package that makes him stand out. He is his own wrestler that is able to make his style adapt to his opponent and the environment they are in. He did good with the American indies last year and I would love to see him break out even higher on the scene in 2024.

BZW “X”, 03/02/2024
Salle Jacques Brel, Faches-Thumesnil, France

1. MAO & Yoshihiko defeated MBM & Ultima Sombra (?:??).

The European trip started out in France where MAO & Yoshihiko defeated Rivality in BZW. I think the promotion was originally called BodyZoi Wrestling but then changed their name to Banger Zone Wrestling. Anyway Yoshihiko ended up needing a neck brace after it was put through a table. It got its own back by giving both MBM & Ultima Sombra a Double Low Blow and a Double Choke Slam.

TNT EXTREME “MERSEYSIDE MASSACRE”, 04/02/2024
Hanger34, Liverpool, England

1. Fatal 4 Way: Yoshihiko defeated Jordan Oliver, Leon Slater and MAO (?:??).

The next night MAO and Yoshihiko made it to England for a TNT Extreme show. They weren’t teaming together this time. Instead they were opponents along with Jordan Oliver and Leon Slater in a Fatal 4 Way match. Neither of them escaped the match unscathed. Yoshihiko was thrown from the ring into the balcony only to dive out of there onto everyone back in the ring! It ended up winning the match but still needed medical help over concerns it suffered a concussion. MAO got a medical check-up too but he was fine as long as he got some beer.

AEW “DYNAMITE”, 07/02/2024
Footprint Center, Phoenix, Arizona, USA

1. Konosuke Takeshita (w/ Don Callis) defeated Chris Jericho with the Walls Of Takeshita (13:51).

Takeshita got his win back from Chris Jericho in a rematch from DDT “ULTIMATE PARTY 2023” last November. This time Takeshita had counters for a lot of Jericho’s moves. He avoided the Walls Of Jericho and after some struggle repositioned himself to Wheelbarrow Suplex his opponent. He stopped Jericho from doing the Lionsault, grabbing him from the ropes to do a Blue Thunder Bomb instead. He also avoided a top rope Frankensteiner to do a Super Blue Thunder Bomb too! Jericho finally caught Takeshita in the Walls Of Jericho but that was when Don Callis came into play. He slid a chair into the ring to distract the ref and then hit Jericho in the head with a screwdriver. Takeshita took advantage by putting Jericho in the Walls Of Takeshita, dragging him into the middle of the ring to make him tap out!

WEST COAST PRO “UNDER THE BRIDGE”, 18/02/2024
Don Quixote Event Center, Los Angeles, California, USA

1. Chris Hero, Konosuke Takeshita & Titus Alexander defeated Adrian Quest, Danny Rose & Ricky Gee (20:56).

A match between Chris Hero and Adrian Quest over at West Coast Pro ended in a No Contest when Danny Rose & Ricky Gee interfered and attacked Hero. Titus Alexander came to Hero’s aid but the numbers game by Quest and Los Suavecitos eventually overwhelmed them. Who would come out to the rescue but Konosuke Takeshita! After he cleared the ring with Elbow Strikes an impromptu 6-Man Tag Match broke out. After the match Hero told a story back from around 2007 about him going to see an Osaka Pro show during a tour with NOAH. He wanted to take a tour of the venue but wasn’t allowed do it by himself. So a 10 year old Takeshita had to chaperone him around the building!

AEW “COLLISION”, 24/02/2024
Great Southern Bank Arena, Springfield, Missouri, USA

1. Bryan Danielson defeated Jun Akiyama with the Busaiku Knee Kick (15:59).

AEW’s booking method for Bryan Danielson lately is to book him against a who’s who of the wrestling landscape. He’s been in the ring with the likes of Yuji Nagata, luchadors from CMLL and the latest one was Jun Akiyama. This match had extra spice to it because Eddie Kingston was at ringside and he admires Akiyama greatly. So of course Danielson would have some fun getting to beat up Kingston’s hero right in front of him. However Akiyama put up a big fight, clashing Knee Strike to Knee Strike. It couldn’t last though and Danielson ultimately got his hand raised in the end. He shook Akiyama’s hand after the match only to give him a Low Blow. An angry Kingston attacked Danielson which brought out Claudio Castagnoli and then FTR for a little brawl before things calmed down.

DDT Around The World – January 2024

February 1, 2024

Don’t worry everyone, Konosuke Takeshita got to wrestle a bit last month! His time spent in AEW during January was matches involving Darby Allin but by the time the month ended, he is back to targeting Chris Jericho for an upcoming rematch of their “ULTIMATE PARTY 2023” bout. Tokyo Joshi Pro had some more involvement with Major League Wrestling. Another noteworthy thing is Yukio Sakaguchi on the verge of retirement having his last wrestling match in Taiwan. We also got updates on DDT and TJPW for their shows during Wrestlemania Week coming up in April.

Other schedules went pear-shaped last month due to injuries and illnesses. Maki Itoh had to cancel her American dates in order to take time off for recovery reasons. The good news is she will be back wrestling again near the end of February and will return to the American indies in March. Chris Brookes getting surgery to remove a tumor from his abdomen prevented him from travelling around Southeast Asia with Masahiro Takanashi. It’s a more quiet month than usual because of Itoh and Brookes being absent. Only going to make things busier when they get back to normal.

AEW “DYNAMITE”, 03/01/2024
Prudential Center, Newark, New Jersey, USA

1. Konosuke Takeshita defeated Darby Allin with the Powerdrive Knee (12:50).

Takeshita throwing Allin around the ring was so much fun he got to do it even more this month. Allin got his licks in too with a top rope Stunner and a few dives. But Takeshita blocked the Coffin Drop with his knees, fought off a dead leg to German Suplex Allin across the ring. He then turned him inside out with a Lariat, kicked his face off with a Helluva Kick and then German Suplex him off the top rope. Takeshita finished him off with the Powerdrive Knee. More of this please!

MLW “KINGS OF COLOSSEUM”, 06/01/2024
2300 Arena, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

1. Nao Kakuta defeated Moka Miyamoto with the Shiden Kai (6:23).
2. MLW World Featherweight Title: Janai Kai (c) (w/ Salina de la Renta & Jesus Rodriguez) defeated Hyper Misao with the Demon Clutch (7:15).
*V3 for Janai Kai.

Several TJPW wrestlers went to New York to compete at MLW’s latest supershow. Hyper Misao got a shot at the MLW World Featherweight Title, becoming the second TJPW wrestler in a row to challenge Janai Kai for the belt. She brought along the Combat Bike and cycled around the outside of the ring to hit Kai with a Lariat. Salina de la Renta stood on the apron to distract Misao but got sprayed in the face for her troubles. The distraction still worked though because Misao turned around into the Tornado Kick from Kai and she then gave up to the Demon Clutch Dragon Sleeper.

TJPW also provided an exhibition match between Nao Kakuta and Moka Miyamoto. Kakuta won the match but afterwards Miyamoto was approached in the ring by Love Doug. He wanted to ask her out for dinner and she said yes.

AEW “DYNAMITE – HOMECOMING”, 10/01/2024
Daily’s Place, Jacksonville, Florida, USA

1. Tornado Tag Match: Darby Allin & Sting (w/ Ric Flair) defeated Konosuke Takeshita & Powerhouse Hobbs (w/ Don Callis) when Sting pinned Hobbs with the Scorpion Death Drop through a Table (9:53).

And we did get more of this! Takeshita’s AEW debut took place in Daily’s Place during the pandemic so it meant a lot to him to be in a Dynamite main event there. It was a wild Tornado Tag match that also dragged Don Callis and Ric Flair into the ring. The fighting went over to the entrance where Allin hit a Coffin Drop from a bleacher onto Takeshita, taking the two of them out of action. Powerhouse Hobbs carried Sting over to a stage with the intention of putting him through a table. But Sting reversed it and gave Hobbs the Scorpion Death Drop off the stage through the table instead.

SPW “CHAMPIONS NEVER YIELD 2”, 19/01/2024
Foo Chow Building, Singapore

1. Queen Of Asia No. 1 Contender Match: Mizuki defeated Alexis Lee (?:??).
2. SPW Southeast Asia Tag Team Titles: Da Butcherman & Dr. Gore defeated HARASHIMA & Masahiro Takanashi (c) (?:??).
*The Horrors become the 11th SPW Southeast Asia Tag Team Champions!

CDK’s plans for the month were changed because of Brookes’ health issues. Takanashi had to find some replacement tag partners for his matches in Singapore and Thailand. Over in Singapore Pro Wrestling Takanashi still had to defend the SPW Southeast Asia Tag Team Titles without Brookes. The good news was HARASHIMA agreed to join him as a substitute so the match against The Horrors could go ahead. The makeshift team couldn’t pull it off though. CDK’s long reign with the titles were ended by Da Butcherman & Dr. Gore.

Also on the show was a No. 1 Contenders match for the Queen Of Asia Title. The championship currently belongs to Yuki Kamifuku and is being kept with her in TJPW. The former champion Alexis Lee needed to beat Mizuki in order to get a rematch. However Mizuki was too much for her to handle and it will instead be Mizuki who is getting the next shot. It’s possible that match will happen at a TJPW show in Japan rather than in Singapore for SPW but we’ll have to wait and see what gets announced.

NTW “THE GOD’S RIGHT KNEE RETURNS”, 20/01/2024
Xingren Road, Zhongli District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan

1. Special Single Match: THE JOKER defeated Yukio Sakaguchi (8:00).

During Sakaguchi’s announcement about his retirement plans he mentioned one of his remaining matches was taking place in Taiwan. It was for New Taiwan Entertainment Wrestling and was put together when Sakaguchi was challenged by THE JOKER in December. THE JOKER is someone who Sakaguchi fought years previously and he holds Sakaguchi is high esteem. The match meant even more for him because Sakaguchi gave him his ring robe as a gift afterwards.

Takanashi needed to find another partner over in Thailand for the SETUP show. Oddly enough Sanshiro Takagi was in the area visiting for business reasons but he wasn’t available to take part. Instead Takanashi had to team up with Rubber Man, one of the many monsters that comes from the UMA Corps.

Enmarket Arena, Savannah, Georgia, USA

1. Konosuke Takeshita (w/ Don Callis) defeated Christopher Daniels with the Powerdrive Knee (3:06).

A little rest to recover from the Tornado Tag match put Takeshita back on track. His next match was a win against Christopher Daniels, an opponent he previously faced on a AEW branded ring in Japan. He countered the Angel’s Wings into the Implant and then turned that into a German Suplex. All that was left to do was hit the Powerdrive Knee for the victory.
