During a promotional event for the show, Mio Shirai appeared and asked Ken Ohka to team up with her on the 29th April Union show at Korakuen Hall. They’ve had their differences in the past. When Shirai began wrestling for Union Ohka became smitten with her. He stalked her but Shirai caught him every time and choked him out with the Figure Four Neck Lock. They later became a tsundere tag team, sticking together until Ohka left Union to form Ganbare☆Wrestling. Ohka at first refused Shirai’s request. After losing the war against Union he feels that he would be lowering himself by returning there. But when Shirai tearfully asked him to reconsider, Ohka changed his mind and agreed to join her on 29th April.

Tomoya Kawamura pulled out of the main event. Taking his place is his Union colleague Mitomi Masayuki returning to Ganbare☆Wrestling for the first time since his suspension.

Mr. AKIBA is an American otaku who approached Ohka for an opportunity to become a wrestler. Once he went away Ohka decided AKIBA will fight the monster J-Soul Pandita III IV.

30 minutes isn’t enough fo Akito and Daisuke Sasaki. A 60 minute Iron Man Match will determine who deserves to be the DDT Extreme Champion.

Tetsuya Endo’s foot injury has not healed so he will not be able to compete on the show. A replacement was needed for the King Of Dark Title match. Amon Tsurumi picked Yasu Urano to take Endo’s place and “challenge” for the title. Tsurumi explained that during the Right To Challenge Rumble Urano secretly swapped his prize with Endo’s when the referee wasn’t looking. So when it was time to reveal who got what, Urano got the Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Contract while Endo got the King Of Dark Title shot booby prize. Amon (and the audience) knew this at the time but he kept silent on the matter until now. Amon also announced that the winner of the match has to work double duty and will team with HARASHIMA later in the show.

dino-sasadango-bald

The team of Danshoku Dino & Super Sasadango Machine were fully prepared for their KO-D Tag Team Title shot today. They both wore Machine masks and showed a Powerpoint presentation explaining how they plan to win. The presentation was titled “A Discussion Of The Tag Team Championship Challenges And Work-life Balance By A 37-Year-Old Duo”. Sasadango’s work-life balance is “Mold”, “Home”, “Graduate School”, “Local Talent Industry” and “Local Wrestler Business”. Dino’s balance is “Gay”, “Gay Time Writer”, “Security Guards”, “Gay Function Activities” and “Gay Wrestler”. They worked out that the champions’ balance is “Muscle Training”, “Wrestling”, “Muscle Training”, “Wrestling” and “Poseidon”. The solution to beat Daisuke Sekimoto & Yuji Okabayashi was to create the Konaki Danshoku Driver, a double team version of Dino’s finisher. The move is named after Konaki Jijii from the manga GeGeGe no Kitarō. Sasadango puts on a Konaki Jijii costume which dramatically increases his weight and he leaps onto Dino’s back as he does the Danshoku Driver.

konaki-danshoku-driver

The challengers jumped the bell and did everything they could to get the advantage. A few DDT wrestlers interfered to help them and did so while wearing Machine masks. The challengers hit the Konaki Danshoku Driver on Okabayashi but Sekimoto was there to break the count. Frustrated, Dino & Sasadango removed their masks revealing that they are now both bald! They hit the Konaki Danshoku Driver again but Sekimoto breaks the pin once more. The champions turned the tables and Okabayashi got his hands on the Konaki costume. Okabayashi put on the costume, increasing his weight to 2 tons and hit the Golem Splash for the victory. After the match Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie came down to confirm their challenge for the KO-D Tag Titles on 29th April. That is the same date Ishii & Irie won the All Asia Tag Team Titles last year. Sekimoto told them to bring the best they got.

ibushi-harashima-handshake

The Right To Challenge Battle Royal had eight prizes in total. The main one was a KO-D Openweight Title shot on 29th April in Korakuen Hall, which was given to HARASHIMA for winning the Royal Rumble portion of the match. He and Kota Ibushi didn’t play any games when they faced each other after the match. This time they accepted each other’s handshake.

dance-ladder

The other seven prizes were in envelopes held above the ring. Each envelope had a different design on it except for two which both had a skull logo. Tetsuya Endo and Yasu Urano were the first to grab contracts while fighting over them at the top of the ladder. Urano got a Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Contract while Endo was gutted to find out he got a King Of Dark Title match. Masa Takanashi grabbed the smiley face envelope and got the rights to book his own DDT show. Hiroshi Fukuda snuck up the ladder during Kazuki Hirata’s dance entrance and got himself the 2nd Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Contract. Undefeated DNA rookie Kazusada Higuchi got the 3rd Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Contract and Antonio Honda got the 4th thanks to Konosuke Takeshita helping him up the ladder.

right-to-challenge

When the match was over there was still one contract remaining, the first time it has ever happened for this match. Amon Tsurumi decided the contract will go to a winner of another Battle Royal on 29th April. The contract holders were all interviewed after the match. Takanashi said he will think about when he will cash in his contract. Endo said he will cash in his King of Dark contract on 19th April in Saitama. Urano wants to win the KO-D Title fair and square so he will not cash in when the champion least expects it. Fukuda wants to consult with Barack Obama before he decides when to get his title match. Higuchi said he will get his title match in Sapporo Teisen Hall because he wants to win the title near his hometown. Honda declared he will not cash in until pollen season is over because his nose is currently stuffy.

akito-one-count

Oh no! The hype backlash has begun for Shiori Asahi, although it is just as manufactured as his popularity. Amon Tsurumi is tired of Asahi being cheered so he instructed the fans to boo him instead just to mix things up. The fans played along and Asahi was stunned by the crowd turning on him when he came out. Akito on the other hand got a lot of support as the Total Count Match went on. With every second from a pinfall counting as a point, both wrestlers went with School Boys and Cradles to score quickly and often. Asahi took the lead by a wide margin but Akito came back and got the equalizing point right before the time limit expired. Sudden death quickly began and after 90 seconds of frantic scrambling, Akito got the winning pin count to regain the DDT Extreme Title! After the match Akito was thrilled to have the belt back and said the match taught him the importance of the one count.

hang-in-there

Sanshiro Takagi wanted something crazy for his 20th anniversary and he got it. He & Jun Kasai fought Kota Ibushi & Suguru Miyatake in a wild Falls Count Anywhere match. Kasai and Ibushi were at each other’s throats for a lot of the match, brawling up to the balcony. There was a scary moment when Ibushi was lifted over the railing and was left hanging over ringside from the ledge! Tables, basins, a barbed wire baseball bat and the Combat Bicycle were all used during the match. Takagi splashed Miyatake through two tables and then Power Bombed him through a third while yelling “Congratulations 20th Anniversary!” to himself. Ibushi and Kasai had a staredown after the match.

*X is Shiori Asahi.
6. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Daisuke Sekimoto & Yuji Okabayashi (c) Vs Danshoku Dino & Super Sasadango Machine

The time has come for my favourite DDT match to take place again. The Right To Challenge Battle Royal is a combined Royal Rumble and Ladder Match. The winner of the Rumble portion becomes the No. 1 Contender for the KO-D Openweight Title. However there are usually extra prizes hanging over the ring which is where the ladder comes in. In recent years the prize has been Money In The Bank style contracts that allow the holder to get a title match at any show they want. However there are also extra stipulations used to keep the contract holder on his toes. For example, last year the contract could change hands like a title if the holder was directly defeated in any match he wrestled in. The rules change or get altered every year so we won’t know for sure what the prizes and conditions are until right after the match.

The Drift Vs Shuten-dōji feud has extended itself into the regular tag team division. The two sides will collide again with a future KO-D Tag Team Title shot on the line.

Sanshiro Takagi will celebrate 20 years in wrestling with a good old fashion Falls Count Anywhere Match.

I think this is the first time anywhere a champion has been labelled as X.

phoenix-plex

DDT made it a day to remember in Saitama Super Arena. Every championship changed hands during the show. That means HARASHIMA has finally been toppled off the mountain. Much like their last meeting for the KO-D Openweight Title six years ago, Kota Ibushi beat HARASHIMA with the Phoenix Plex to become champion. At one point Ibushi dove off of the entrance stage onto HARASHIMA. He later hit HARASHIMA with his own finishing move the Somato! But HARASHIMA kicked out of almost everything Ibushi threw at him, even the Last Ride Power Bomb and Phoenix Splash. The champion fought back with a Headbutt, a Buzzsaw Kick and the Swan Dive Somato but Ibushi caught him and hit the rarely used Phoenix Plex for the victory! The new champion celebrated with a sparkler as the show drew to a close. Ibushi’s first defence is set for Kasukabe Hall on 21st March.

fuuuuuuuuuuck-suplex

What does it take to demolish Happy Motels? Turns out Strong BJ does the trick. The KO-D Tag Team Champions were taken to the limit and then some. Daisuke Sekimoto & Yuji Okabayashi were just too much for Konosuke Takeshita & Tetsuya Endo. The Sky Twister Press from Endo to Okabayashi got a nearfall. Strong BJ recovered and focused on Takeshita, smashing him with Lariats. Takeshita was down for good after the Golem Splash. Amon Tsurumi admitted being frustrated by the result when he congratulated the new champions. He told them their first title defence will be on 29th March. Their opponents? Danshoku Dino & Super Sasadango Machine!

sasadango-sakuraba

Speaking of Super Sasadango Machine, he had a big time entrance coming out in a white costume to the song “Lonely Days”. He was ready for his big moment… a PowerPoint presentation. Today’s topic was “How To Eliminate The Disparity Problem In The World Of Professional Wrestling”. When he was done Kazushi Sakuraba was there waiting for him. Sasadango tried to beat him with a banana peel. It didn’t work. He tried to beat him with the Lehman Shock three times. It didn’t work. A montage with narration took place during the match. That also didn’t work. Sasadango just couldn’t figure Sakuraba out and that became his downfall.

ddt-romance

Although Michael Nakazawa has already moved to Singapore he had one problem he needed to settle back in Japan. He wants his wife to come join him in his new life. So he got singer Shigeru Matsuzaki to be in his corner for the match against Danshoku Dino. Matsuzaki stopped Nakazawa from using a chair late in the match. After all, cheating to win isn’t going to help him get his wife back. Dino thanked Matsuzaki by kissing him. Dino later gave Nakazawa a goodbye kiss before ending the match with the Danshoku Destroyer. Nakazawa was dispondent after the match. He asked Dino what is a pro wrestler because he doesn’t know. Dino admitted he doesn’t know for sure but a pro wrestler should love wrestling. Nakazawa said he loves wrestling but he still does not have his wife with him so he will be going back to Singapore alone. Matsuzaki returned and began to sing. All of a sudden Michael’s wife Keiko appeared wearing a wedding dress! The two embraced. All together now. Awwwwwww!

Unfortunately the stinger at the end of the show was Keiko telling Michael backstage that she still didn’t want to go to Singapore. She then ditched him. All together now. Awwwwwww…

supertlc

The Super TLC match had Sanshiro Takagi immediately thrown into a castle of chairs. He was also put through a table by Shigehiro Irie’s Flying Sausage. Shuji Ishikawa wiped out Keisuke Ishii with the Fire Thunder through a table. MIKAMI made good use of the largest ladder but was also one of its victims. Jun Kasai put Suguru Miyatake through a bunch of tables with the Pearl Harbour Splash. This left Takagi as the last man standing and he was able to grab down the bag to win. The prize Crazy & President won is a Street Wrestling match scheduled for 15th April in Izuguranparu Park. It will be the largest outdoor area DDT has ever wrestled in. With this victory Sanshiro Takagi got to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his wrestling debut early. His 20th anniversary is tomorrow.

this-is-normal

The KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Title Match quickly turned into an arena wide brawl. Shuten-dōji were prepared for the champions’ shenanigans and isolated Gorgeous Matsuno from the Brahman Brothers. KUDO hit the Diving Double Knee Drop and Yukio Sakaguchi then submitted Matsuno with the Cobra Clutch.

egg-is-shioriasahi

The rules for the DDT Extreme Title match changed every 90 seconds. It started off normal, then grappling was prohibited, then it became a 2 Count match, then it was Give Up Only and finally a No Rope Escape when the match reached its finish. Akito got a taste of his own medicine when Shiori Asahi used the ropes to add leverage to his pin. Asahi is now your “X = treme” Champion!

super-kong-ironman

The first Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title change of the day took place before the Battle Royal even took place. Champion Aja Kong was ambushed and pinned in the hallway by the cameraman following her down to ringside! The cameraman fled down to the ring and found himself face to face with Yasu Urano to start the Battle Royal. He actually did alright, throwing Urano across the ring with a Spinning Headscissors. But his bizarre fairytale was cut short when Shunma Katsumata eliminated him to win the belt. The title was then passed around from Katsumata to Hikaru Sato to Soma Takao. Zeus was a force to be reckoned with and he eliminated 4 men on route to winning the title. Tomomitsu Matsunaga and Makoto Oishi were able to eliminate Zeus but down came Aja Kong to get her belt back. The match came down to Kong and Saki Akai. The model tried a Diving Body Press but Kong responded with a Back Drop and the Uraken. Akai somehow kicked out but was then put away with the Brainbuster. Kong then got revenge on the cameraman by knocking him out with the Uraken on the stage.

yoshihiko-akebono

The HIRATA GO! glasses are an unexpected hit at the merch stands and were sold out. Hirata kept a few spare ones to give to Akebono and Toru Owashi but they rejected them. Hirata then tried to dance but Antonio Honda attacked him every time. Team captains Akebono and Yoshihiko went at it as promised while everyone else battled and danced over Hirata’s glasses. While Honda was too busy dancing to realise what was going on behind him, Akebono and his team triple teamed him and then squashed him for the victory. Hirata got his glasses back and finally got to dance for everyone. Afterwards Owashi wondered if the team should continue under the name AT Hide. Meanwhile the Great Kojika was amazed at how large Akebono is in person.

dna-6man

Kazusada Higuchi continues his winning streak by submitting Kota Umeda with the Canadian Backbreaker in the DNA dark match. Higuchi hopes when the next big show comes around he will be on the main card.

kingofdark-ihashi

Gota Ihashi has the unfortunate pleasure of becoming the first ever King Of Dark Champion. He is now banished to doing the dark matches until he wins one. Ihashi tried to convince himself it’s a good thing, even calling it the KO-D Title because it has the same initials as DDT’s top belt. He eventually accepted his fate and said no matter what he will win his next dark match and pass the title over to the loser.

DDT will run Sumo Hall twice in 2016. The shows will be on 21st March and 28th August. The Beer Garden series in Shin-kiba 1st RING returns for 9 shows from 1st August to 9th August. This year’s DDT General Election will include wrestlers from Ganbare☆Wrestling and Tokyo Joshi Pro.

With three weeks to go until DDT takes over the Community section of Super Saitama Arena, the company held a big preview show over at Korakuen Hall. Many of the matches today gives us an idea of what to expect in Saitama next month.

ibushi-sekimoto-okabayashi

In the main even the KO-D Openweight Champion and KO-D Tag Team Champions banded together to face their challengers in a 6-Man Tag. HARASHIMA has been getting the better of Kota Ibushi in their recent tag matches but Ibushi is ever so slightly winding up the champion with mind games. Meanwhile Happy Motels got the opportunity to measure up against the Strong BJ team of Daisuke Sekimoto & Yuji Okabayashi before their big title match. The challengers rallied together and defeated the champions but it wasn’t easy. HARASHIMA hit the Somato to Ibushi on the apron. But a Swan Dive into the ring was caught by Okabayashi and ended with HARASHIMA being driven into the mat with a Spinebuster. Konosuke Takeshita gave Sekimoto the Blue Thunder and left it up to Tetsuya Endo to finish him. However Sekimoto recovered and hit Endo with a big Lariat for a nearfall. He then gave Endo the Deadlift German Suplex and this time he got the pin.

rock-paper-scissors

Ibushi continued the mind games after the match when he offered a handshake to HARASHIMA. The champion didn’t want to be tricked again so he stuck his hand out in the shape of scissors. However as he did that Ibushi immediately changed his hand into rock. HARASHIMA changed his hand to paper but Ibushi switched to scissors. The two continued playing Rock Paper Scissors with Ibushi winning every hand and HARASHIMA getting noticeably more irritated. Amon Tsurumi stepped in and said he is looking forward to seeing great matches at “SAITAMA SUPER DDT 2015”.

rope-assisted-triangle-scorpion

Akito faced Makoto Oishi in a No Rope Break Match with the DDT Extreme Title on the line. With no rope breaks in effect tightly locked submissions were now more dangerous. Both wrestlers had to physically drag themselves out of the ring to have any chance of escaping some of the holds applied during the match. Akito used the ropes to his advantage when he applied the Triangle Scorpion and held onto the ropes to apply even more pressure. Oishi tried his best to escape but soon had to give up. Next up for Akito is Shiori Asahi… I mean X.

sasadango-powerpoint

Super Sasadango Machine has been studying his chances of beating Kazushi Sakuraba next month. Using a Powerpoint presentation he explained that he had 0% chance of winning. He also remembered that he has now been wrestling for over 10 years and reaching such a milestone should power him up. A victory over Sanshiro Takagi gave him a confidence boost and Sasadango now thinks he has a 25% chance of beating Sakuraba.

hirata-kojika-dance

Once again Kazuki Hirata’s Magnum gear was stolen by Antonio Honda. Hirata got brand new GO! glasses to wear but Honda got his hands on them first. Whoever wears the glasses becomes compelled to dance to the Magnum TOKYO theme song. So obviously everybody in the match got to wear the glasses at some point, Great Kojika included. Kojika used the power of the music to clear house and pin Hirata with a Choke Slam.

road-to-super-tlc

A single table, ladder and chair were involved in the Super TLC preview bout. MIKAMI made good use of the ladder while Daisuke Sasaki put Shigehiro Irie through the table. Back in the ring Shuji Ishikawa pinned Suguru Miyatake with the Splash Mountain. Things are only going to get crazier from there in Saitama.

sato-submission

Saki Akai’s chances of regaining the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title are not looking good. She was the first person eliminated in today’s Battle Royal after a double Clothesline from Tomomitsu Matsunaga and Bernard Ackah. Matsunaga then pinned Ackah afterwards and after that Ackah knocked him out. Near the end Shunma Katsumata was the last one in the ring but he was soon joined by a big surprise. It was the return of Hikaru Sato! Coming down to the UWF Theme, Sato entered the ring carrying the Shield Of Victory Award he won at DEEP’s Saitama Super Arena show on New Year’s Eve. He kicked Katsumata down and tapped him out with a Half Crab all while still posing with the award. Sato took the mic and said he is unbeaten at MMA in Super Saitama Arena and he is now free to go after the Iron Man Title on 15th February.

sakaguchi-matsuno-nira

Despite not having the Brahman Brothers by his side, Gorgeous Matsuno still had access to the black India Ink to use against Shuten-dōji. Gota Ihashi used the ink to blind Yukio Sakaguchi but Masa Takanashi and KUDO were still there. KUDO hit the Diving Double Knee Drop on Ihashi for the win.

fukuda-amon-darkmatch

Hiroshi Fukuda and Hoshitango had an unscheduled dark match during Amon Tsurumi’s opening show announcements. Tsurumi just stood there and spoke while the two men wrestled around him. When they were down Fukuda demanded he should be in the King Of Dark Title match and he would forfeit his spot in the Iron Man Title Rumble to do it. Tsurumi decided that the title match will now be Gota Ihashi & DJ Nira Vs Hiroshi Fukuda & Hoshitango. Fukuda was thrilled with the news until he found out the King Of Dark Title is actually a “Misfortune Championship”. Fukuda asked why would Tsurumi create such a championship? Tsurumi told him to go home.

Zeus will be in the 15/2 Iron Man Title Rumble.

The matches for DNA 3 on 5th February are Shunma Katsumata Vs Kota Umeda, Kouki Iwasaki Vs Kotaro Nasu, Kazusada Higuchi Vs Ryota Nakatsu, Jiro Kuroshio & Tomoya Kawamura Vs Dai Suzuki & Kikutaro and in the main event Suguru Miyatake Vs Yuko Miyamoto.

Complete Card For “SAITAMA SUPER DDT 2015”

January 5, 2015

saitamasuperddt

DDT “SAITAMA SUPER DDT 2015”, 15/02/2015
Saitama Super Arena – Community Arena

1. Love Of Memory: Danshoku Dino Vs Michael Nakazawa (w/ Shigeru Matsuzaki)
2. Special Single Match: Super Sasadango Machine Vs X
3. Akebono Army Vs Yoshihiko Army: Akebono, Toru Owashi & Kazuki Hirata Vs Yoshihiko, Antonio Honda & Great Kojika
4. Super TLC Match: Sanshiro Takagi & Jun Kasai Vs Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie Vs Daisuke Sasaki & Suguru Miytake Vs MIKAMI & Shuji Ishikawa
5. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title – Battle Royal: Aja Kong (c) Vs Yasu Urano Vs Soma Takao Vs Tomomitsu Matsunaga Vs Gota Ihashi Vs Hoshitango Vs Shunma Katsumata Vs Saki Akai Vs Bernard Ackah Vs Yuto Aijima Vs DJ Nira Vs Makoto Oishi
6. DDT Extreme Title: Akito (c) Vs X
7. KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles: Gorgeous Matsuno, Brahman Shu & Brahman Kei Vs KUDO, Yukio Sakaguchi & Masa Takanashi
8. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Konosuke Takeshita & Tetsuya Endo (c) Vs Daisuke Sekimoto & Yuji Okabayashi
9. KO-D Openweight Title: HARASHIMA (c) Vs Kota Ibushi

Kota Ibushi is currently reeling from yesterday’s defeat to Shinsuke Nakamura in the Tokyo Dome. He’ll have another chance at claiming some gold back in DDT when he faces the most dominant KO-D Openweight Champion in the company’s history, HARASHIMA.

Happy Motels face their greatest challenge yet in the form of Big Japan’s literal strongest duo, Daisuke Sekimoto & Yuji Okabayashi. The young champions have already gone through many of DDT’s regular teams but none of them are on the level of Strong BJ.

The KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles have gone through its most craziest matches ever since it went around the waists of Gorgeous Matsuno & the Brahman Brothers. Their title defences have turned into hardcore brawls with suitcases, bowling balls, a pig head and black ink all involved. So pretty much your regular Brahman Brothers match. Hardcore drinkers Shuten-dōji are the next team stepping into the ring with them.

The loser of the 25th January DDT Extreme Title match between Akito and Makoto Oishi will be in the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title Battle Royal. The winner will defend the Extreme Title against someone to be determined. Since most if not all of the active roster is booked already I think the challenger will come from outside of DDT. Maybe a Union guy now that I think about it.

Speaking of the Iron Man Title, Aja Kong now possesses the belt and has challenged all comers to try and take it off her. Among them is the previous champion Saki Akai who will surely love to get revenge for Kong spoiling her big moment. Bernard Ackah will also be there after the failed bodyguard and second Super Sasadango Machine admitted he wanted to do pro wrestling.

The Super TLC Match involves 10 Tables, 3 Ladders (1x3m high, 2x2m high) and 100 Chairs. Sanshiro Takagi & Jun Kasai reform their Crazy & President team to face members of Team Dream Futures, Golden☆Storm Riders and the veteran team pairing of MIKAMI & Shuji Ishikawa.

The teams led by Akebono and Yoshihiko have been chosen. Akebono has T2Hide members Toru Owashi & Kazuki Hirata on his side. This means we could see Akebono be forced to do the Magnum TOKYO dance with Hirata! Yoshihiko has recruited Antonio Honda and The Great Kojika. At 72 years old Kojika is still going at it in the ring.

Super Sasadango Machine faces a mystery opponent. Heck if I know who it is. What’s worse is Machine may not be able to figure out how to prepare for the match. How can he set up a PowerPoint presentation if he doesn’t know what he is up against?

Michael Nakazawa’s final match in DDT, at least for now, is against a fully recovered Danshoku Dino. Nakazawa is moving to Singapore to focus on his career as a fitness instructor. Dino is returning from a hernia.

6b. Akito (1) defeated Tomomitsu Matsunaga (1) with an Omoplata Clutch (6:54).
6c. Akito (2) Vs Tomomitsu Matsunaga (2) ended in a Double Countout (15:32).
6d. Akito (3) defeated Tomomitsu Matsunaga (2) with an Arm Clutch Figure 4 Leg Lock (21:29).
*V4 for Akito.
7. Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie defeated HARASHIMA & Yasu Urano when Irie pinned Urano with the Beast Bomber (18:36).

Shigehiro Irie got another small victory over HARASHIMA on their road to their KO-D Openweight Title match. Amon Tsurumi congratulated Irie on a good performance and said he took another step closer towards superiority. Irie said he will absolutely become superior to HARASHIMA as revenge for HARASHIMA beating his friends. Irie wants to win the title and main event Saitama Super Arena!

The DDT Extreme Title was on the line in a Three Complete Match. The champion Akito and challenger Tomomitsu Matsunaga needed to win three times under different circumstances to get the title. They had to win once by pinfall, once by submission and once by ring out. Matsunaga scored first when Akito tapped out to a Scorpion Deathlock. The score was tied when Akito pinned Matsunaga when he applied an Omoplata and turned it into a pinning manoeuvre. Both wrestlers suffered a ring out when Matsunaga gave Akito the Emerald Frosion from the ring apron to the floor outside. Matsunaga needed a pinfall to win and he came close with the Tommy Bomber but he was also wrestling on a bad knee. Akito soon capitalised and caught him in an Arm Clutch Figure 4 Leg Lock to get the submission victory and complete the three victory conditions. After the match they shook hands and Matsunaga wrapped the belt around Akito’s waist. Akito thanked Matsunaga and described him as DDT’s gatekeeper. He also said he feels a pleasant pressure when defending his title and his goal is to defend the belt in Saitama Super Arena.

LiLiCo’s bodyguard Bernard Ackah made easy work out of Kazuki Hirata. After the match Sanshiro Takagi picked up an unconscious Hirata and said Hirata demands a rematch at Korakuen Hall! Amon Tsurumi stepped in and said Hirata is obviously knocked out and Takagi was being unreasonable. Ackah then challenged Takagi to a match at Korakuen. The match was accepted and it was confirmed that LiLiCo will be in attendence with the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title.

Four wrestlers passed the Golden☆Storm Riders strict reviews to qualify for their new member audition. DJ Nira, Shun Miyatake, Gota Ihashi & Shunma Katsumata had to wrestle Kota Ibushi & Daisuke Sasaki in their first audition. Anyone defeated in the match would be eliminated from the contest but whoever won the match would automatically qualify for the final at the 23/12 Korakuen Hall show. The match was suddenly interrupted when “Subconscious” played over the speakers. However it wasn’t Shinsuke Nakamura, instead it was Chinsuke Nakamura! Chinsuke entered the ring carrying a cardboard IWGP Intercontinental Championship belt and caused the match to fall apart when he hit the referee with the Boma Ye. Amon Tsurumi sarcastically asked if Chinsuke sent in a resume but he was instantly accepted by Ibushi & Sasaki! Chinsuke has qualified for the final audition. He then held the cardboard title up and had a face off with Ibushi. Iyaao!

Michael Nakazawa congratulated Saki Akai on winning the Best Rookie category in this year’s Tokyo Sports Awards. However he insisted he could defeat the “two beasts” Sanshiro Takagi & Toru Owashi on his own. The bell rang and then four seconds later the bell rang again as Owashi pinned Nakazawa with a Big Boot. Nakazawa accepted the loss and said his goodbyes to the Kasukabe audience but Akai slapped him across the face and demanded the match to restart. Nakazawa had little motivation to do the rematch and it showed in his weak attacks. He just wanted the match to end so he could move to Singapore. Suddenly a bunch of people including Shun Miyatake, Daisuke Kiso, Mic Inoue, members of the TV crew and even a Weekly-Pro Wrestling reporter handed Nakazawa their underwear. Nakazawa’s motivation skyrocketed and the underwear powered him up until Takagi and Owashi attacked him. Nakazawa urged Akai to pick up the underwear and unleash a Spirit Bomb on her opponents as he held them back! She reluctantly did the Spirit Bomb but her targets moved out of the way. Nakazawa took the blow and was then pinned with the Sit Down Himawari Bomb.

None of the championship belts were at the show because they were accidentaly packed into the boxes of merchandise being sent to Hakata for tomorrow’s event there. Amon Tsurumi took off his afro and bowed as an apology to the crowd.

The entire card for today’s show was created based on the results of the DDT Dramatic General Election. In the main event HARASHIMA defended the KO-D Openweight Title against the runner up of the election Isami Kodaka. The winner Kota Ibushi gets his title shot in Saitama Super Arena next February. The two were involved in several matches together this year including the main event of Sumo Hall but they never faced each other one on one until today. HARASHIMA once and for all came out on top and told Kodaka the match was fun. Amon Tsurumi came out and declared an immediate Rock, Paper, Scissors tournament to determine the No. 1 Contender for 30th November. Soma Takao beat Yasu Urano in the final and told HARASHIMA afterwards that the General Election wasn’t the end of the tension, it is just the beginning. HARASHIMA said he isn’t nervous because Takao won a tournament based on luck and he’ll have to increase his ability much more if he wants to win.

Akito seems pretty pleased with his DDT Extreme Title run so far. He’s been happy with the rule choices he defends the title under and today was a Give Up only match against Antonio Honda. He thinks he is now making the Extreme Title accessible to both the junior and senior wrestlers of DDT to chase after.

Today was the final match of DDT’s resident charismatic Canadian, Kenny Omega. For six years, Kenny has done almost everything you could think of for the company. Now it is time for him to move on and advance his career over in New Japan. But first he had a Fall Count Anywhere match to compete in. Teaming with Kota Ibushi for what may be the final Golden Lovers match for a while (Ibushi now wrestles as Heavyweight in New Japan, Kenny is sticking with the Jr. Heavyweight division when he moves over), they took on Danshoku Dino & Konosuke Takeshita. Kenny received a golden reaction from the crowd in attendence and the entire ring was covered in streamers for his ring introduction. The match was interrupted near the end by Michael Nakazawa when he pulled Yukinori Matsui out of the ring during a pinfall. Michael said he didn’t want Kenny to leave and so couldn’t let the match finish. Ibushi knocked out Michael and the match continued. Tetsuya Endo then interrupted the match when he pulled Daisuke Kiso out of the ring. Endo also begged Kenny not to leave. Ibushi knocked out Endo and the match continued once more. Kenny was about to pin Dino again the lights went out and his music played and his music played prematurely. Out came Yoshihiko dressed as Kenny! Nakazawa said that even Kennyhiko didn’t want Kenny to leave and the doll suddenly got into a fight with Ibushi in what is probably the weirdest love triangle in wrestling since Perry Saturn, Terri Runnels and Moppy. When the match finally got back on track Kenny gave Takeshita the One-Winged Angel and then joined Ibushi on the top rope to do the Golden Shower onto Dino. After the match Kenny admitted that saying goodbye would not be suitable because he is not retiring. DDT will always be with him and he hopes everyone will continue to cheer for him in New Japan.

Before Yukio Sakaguchi Vs Super Sasadango Machine could begin, Sasadango held a PowerPoint presentation titled “Measuring The Tendency Of Martial Artists In Pro Wrestling”. Sasadango worked out that he has no advantages over Sakaguchi other than height and weight. Sakaguchi’s strength is his striking ability and his weakness is his lack of experience as a pro wrestler. Sasadango needed more research so he then called the University of Europe to look up if a father’s weaknesses can be inherited by his children. He somehow worked out that Seiji Sakaguchi was the weakest amongst his siblings, therefore Yukio must be weak too. To mark this discovery, Sasadango developed a new pinning move called the Kids Clutch Lehmann Shock. Applying it once would remove 35% of the victim’s hit points, applying it twice would reduce 75% and applying it three times would take away 105%. The match began and Sasadango did the move twice, both getting nearfalls. He did it a third time but Sakaguchi countered it into a Reverse Cross Armbreaker and forced Sasadango to submit.

Tetsuya Endo defeated Kazuki Hirata pretty quickly, countering the Viagra Driver into a roll up for the pin. Afterwards Endo threw out the challenge for T2Hide Vs Happy Motel for the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles. Hirata was about to accept and wanted the match to be in Shizuoka Kiramesse Numazu but his partners Sanshiro Takagi & Toru Owashi physically stopped him from saying it. Owashi called Hirata irresponsible for acting so rash, especially since they could hold the match at Korakuen Hall in front of a bigger audience. Hirata then slapped both Owashi and Takagi! He didn’t care how many people would see it or how small the venue is, he wants to show Happy Motel he isn’t a loser. The challenge was accepted and the title match will be in Shizuoka on 9th November.

DDT revealed some of its big matches for the rest of the year. The KO-D Openweight Title will be defended in Korakuen Hall on 30th November and 23rd December. Those are the final defences for the title until DDT goes to Saitama Super Arena next February. Big Japan powerhouse Daisuke Sekimoto will compete at the Saitama Super Arena show. The KO-D Tag Team Titles will be defended in Kawaguchi on 2nd November and then on the 30th November Korakuen show. Yasu Urano also announced that Kendo Kashin will wrestle at the Smile Squash produced event in Korakuen on 11th December.

The Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title may soon be vacated. Sanshiro Takagi noticed that the belt hasn’t been seen since “RYOGOKU PETER PAN 2014” when popstar LiLiCo became the champion. Amon Tsurumi said that LiLiCo has a busy schedule so she has been unable to appear at any DDT show. Takagi then demanded that LiLiCo appears at Korakuen on 30th November otherwise she will be stripped of the title! Takagi also pointed out that the title is still active and it is possible she could lose it to somebody else until then.

Some new projects are on the way. There will be two DDT apps released on iPhone next month. DDT Nyokinyoki is a training game of some sort and DDT Camera lets you add DDT wrestlers to your pictures. The DDT Manga Project was also announced in collaboration with GANMA!, an online manga service. Sanshiro Takagi and Danshoku Dino will audition professional and amateur manga artsits for a serialized DDT manga.
