5. DDT Extreme Title: Akito (c) Vs Soma Takao
6. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Konosuke Takeshita & Tetsuya Endo (c) Vs KUDO & Masa Takanashi

The main event is protein shakes vs liquor. Konosuke Takeshita & Tetsuya Endo plan to drink protein shakes as a toast for their victory on Sunday. Masa Takanashi is pretty insulted that they would drink protein shakes instead of alcohol.

Akito has decided his DDT Extreme Title match against Soma Takao will just be a normal singles match. Akito still remembers when he lost to Takao in a King of DDT qualifying match back in May. He is still bitter over the defeat and wants to prove he can beat Takao without any crazy stipulation aiding him. He’ll start defending the Extreme Title the way it is supposed to be defended once he beats Takao. Also since DDT is currently being passed over to a new generation of wrestlers, Akito wants to make the Extreme Title as prestigious as the KO-D Openweight Title.

*Danshoku Dino fails in V3. Akito becomes the 30th DDT Extreme Champion!
7. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Konosuke Takeshita & Tetsuya Endo defeated Kota Ibushi & Kenny Omega (c) when Takeshita pinned Omega with a Cross Arm German Suplex (25:13).
*The Golden Lovers fail in V7. Konosuke Takeshita & Tetsuya Endo becomes the 50th KO-D Tag Team Champions!

Three title changes were among the highlights from today’s show, the final day fans could vote in the DDT Dramatic General Election. In the main event Konosuke Takeshita & Tetsuya Endo scored a massive upset victory over the Golden Lovers to win the KO-D Tag Team Titles. For weeks the two young wrestlers were looked down upon by Kenny Omega and even Kota Ibushi a little bit. With Antonio Honda cheering them on from their corner, Takeshita was able to hit the Touchdown on Omega followed by the Sky Twister Press from Endo for a nearfall. Endo went outside to block Ibushi while Takeshita used a Cross Arm German Suplex to finally pin Omega. After the match Kenny admitted defeat and said he leaves the future of DDT to the new champions. Takeshita & Endo thanked the fans for their support and said they will continue to work up to the top.

The DDT Extreme Title changed hands in the semi-main event. Akito beat Danshoku Dino in a Nobody Knows Rules match. The rules were convoluted to say the least. One count pinfalls could end the match, speaking English was banned, complaining about feeling pain was banned, rope breaks were banned, trainees acted as lumberjacks outside the ring and 3 count pinfalls were awarded for both kissing and submitting opponents. Daisuke Kiso needed to have the rules written down just to figure out what was going on. Akito hit the Kinniku Buster on Dino and then he kissed him. Akito then said it was a dream come true for him to face Danshoku Dino in a title match at Korakuen Hall. He was glad to have met him. Kiso recognised that as a confession of love and awarded Akito the match and the Extreme Title!

Finishing off the trio of title changes, the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Championship now belongs to T2Hide! The match was all about Kazuki Hirata and his Magnum HIRATA antics. He had Shun Miyatake (Trainee) and Hiroshi Fukuda join him dressed as women for his dancing entrance. Shigehiro Irie came close to pinning Hirata several times but his Beast Bomber was countered into a Cradle for the upset. Most surprised of all was Hirata himself. He said he works hard and takes wrestling seriously. Then he started dancing again.

DDT announced a new project dedicated to their new trainees. DDT New Attitude will produce its first show in Kitizawa on 28th November. Shunma Katsumata, Shun Miyatake (Trainee) and Union rookie Tomoya Kawamura join 4 new trainees for the event. In Miyatake’s case it will be recognised as his official debut match. The DNA trainees so far have only been identified as Nakatsu, Umeda, Iwasaki and Higuchi. Nakatsu is from Kyoto and has participated in “underground mixed martial arts”. Umeda is a kickboxer from Kumamoto. Iwasaki is from Sapporo and has trained under Kenichi Yamamoto. Higuchi is a sumo wrestler from Hokkaido.

DJ Nira & Super Sasadango Machine came up with the perfect plan to defeat HARASHIMA. They stole his contact lenses! Nira even swallowed them to make sure HARASHIMA will never get them back. With blurred vision, HARASHIMA was ineffective for a lot of the match. Sasadango stripped Yasu Urano of his shirt and bandana and put them on himself to trick HARASHIMA into thinking he was Urano. HARASHIMA then hit the real Urano with the Somato. Sasadango gave Urano several Lehman Shocks but HARASHIMA came to the rescue by wearing Amon Tsurumi’s glasses. He hit Sasadango with the Somato and Urano got the pin.

An update was given for DDT’s “Wrestling Cannonball” movie that will soon be in production. If I have the translation right the movie will follow three different teams driving to different locations and having matches against local wrestlers. Team A consists of Minoru Suzuki, Sanshiro Takagi & Jun Kasai with Muscle Sakai as their cameraman. Team B is KUDO, Yukio Sakaguchi & Masa Takanashi. Team C is Danshoku Dino, HARASHIMA & Kota Ibushi with Michael Nakazawa accompanying them.

3. 4 Way Match: Shigehiro Irie & Soma Takao defeated Yasu Urano & Akito, Tomomitsu Matsunaga & Gota Ihashi and MIKAMI & Shoichi Uchida when Irie pinned Ihashi with the Beast Bomber (7:13).
4. Antonio Honda defeated Kuishinbo Kamen with the Diving Fist Drop (13:51).
5. Next KO-D Tag Team Titles Challenger Match: Konosuke Takeshita & Tetsuya Endo defeated KUDO & Masa Takanashi when Endo pinned KUDO with a Cradle (18:45).
6. DDT Extreme Title: Danshoku Dino (c) defeated Zeus with a 3 Count Kiss (9:32).
*V2 for Danshoku Dino.
7. Kota Ibushi 10th Anniversary Debut Match: Kota Ibushi & Kenny Omega defeated Michael Nakazawa & Yoshihiko when Ibushi pinned Nakazawa with the PK Heart (17:59).
8. KO-D Openweight Title: HARASHIMA (c) defeated Keisuke Ishii with the Somato (20:31).
*V4 for HARASHIMA.

HARASHIMA’s dominance continues. The KO-D Openweight Champion defeated Keisuke Ishii in Osaka to mark his 4th successful defence of the belt (and his 10th in the space of a year). Ishii got his title shot after winning a young wrestlers tournament intended to promote new blood for the title chase. HARASHIMA admitted he did not expect Ishii to have improved to the level he was but HARASHIMA was still stronger. The champ’s next defence will be in Korakuen Hall on 26th October against the runner up of the DDT Dramatic General Election. HARASHIMA doesn’t mind who it is as long as he finishes the election in first place. If he finishes second he gets to choose his challenger.

The last match in Kota Ibushi’s 10th anniversary celebration finally took place. Ibushi teamed with Kenny Omega to take on Michael Nakazawa and Yoshihiko who transformed into Ibushihiko for the occasion. Nakazawa congratulated Ibushi on his 10 years in wrestling but pointed out that he’s been through so many injuries that he’s really only been wrestling for around 8 years. Nakazawa then said Ibushihiko is the one who should have the double contract with DDT and New Japan. During the match, Ibushihiko was thrown on top of a nearby basketball hoop by Omega.

Danshoku Dino Vs Zeus for the DDT Extreme Title was fought in a Kiss Pin Match where a pin or submission would only count if the wrestlers were kissing each other as it happened. Surprisingly Zeus was not fazed at all when the rules were explained to him. Dino needed all the help he could get from Makoto Oishi and Shunma Katsumata. His two cornermen interfered in the match but were both overpowered by Zeus. The challenger even threatened to kiss the referee! Sino then summoned Shun Miyatake (Trainee) to help him and eventually the distractions were enough for Dino to pin Zeus with a kiss. After the match Zeus linked arms with Yukinori Matsui and said “a nice couple is born in Osaka!”

Tetsuya Endo scored the upset pin on KUDO to win himself and Konosuke Takeshita a KO-D Tag Team Title shot on 28th September. Later in the show Takeshita & Endo confronted the Golden Lovers to confirm the match. Endo spoke about his match with Kenny Omega during Beer Garden Week and also the 30 minute draw between both teams that took place back in January. Omeg said the Golden Lovers would have won in the 31st minute if the match continued. He also said if Endo scored 110 points with his best effort then he would need to score more than 150 points to succeed. He then asked Tsurumi to give the title match a 60 minute time limit to make sure another draw won’t happen.

Kazuki Hirata appealed for T2Hide to get a KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Title shot after they won the opening match. Amon Tsurumi said he would positively consider it.

Next year’s big show in Saitama Super Arena will be called “SAITAMA SUPER DDT 2015”.

ddt-peterpan-2014

DDT earned a Super No Vacancy Full House crowd at Sumo Hall for this year’s big “PETER PAN” show. The show lasted just under 5 hours with eleven matches in total. DDT announced they will return to Sumo Hall on 23rd August 2015.

somatolol

The big main event was a 3 Way Elimination match for the KO-D Openweight Championship. HARASHIMA pinned both Kenny Omega and Isami Kodaka to successfully defend the title. The first elimination happened when Kodaka countered Omega’s One-Winged Angel into a Victory Roll. HARASHIMA stopped the pin by hitting the Somato on Kodaka, then he hit Omega with the Somato for the pin. Kodaka used the Somato against HARASHIMA for a close nearfall but the champion fired back with a Vertical Drop Brainbuster and the Swan Dive Somato to put him away. HARASHIMA complimented his opponents for their strong performances but considered himself the strongest for winning. He now looks forward to his next challenger, the winner of the young generation tournament taking place later this month. The show ended with the roster celebrating as foam rained down onto the ring.

tanahashi-beats-takeshita

Two years ago Konosuke Takeshita had his debut match in Sumo Hall against El Generico. Last year Takeshita celebrated his first year in the business by facing Katsuhiko Nakajima. This year he was graced with the presence of New Japan star Hiroshi Tanahashi for the semi-main event. Takeshita took a page out of Generico’s book and tried to hit the Brainbustaaaaahhhhh!!!!! But Tanahashi was able to avoid it and eventually hit the High Fly Flow for the victory.

ibushi-diveson-kondo

The return of Kota Ibushi saw him in the ring with Shuji Kondo for the first time since the “ALL TOGETHER” charity show from 2011. Kondo hit the King Kong Lariat several times until Ibushi unleashed a few of his own. Ibushi finally won with the Phoenix Splash and the two hugged each other after the match. In the post-match interview Kondo said Ibushi should move up to Heavyweight class. Ibushi said he wants to evolve and he will practice more and more. He called this a successful comeback.

ddt-street-fight

The craziest specatacle of the day was the Tag Team Street Fight between Sanshiro Takagi & Jun Kasai against the combination of hybrid fighter and pervert, Minoru Suzuki & Michael Nakazawa. A castle of chairs was set up inside the ring even though the match began outside the arena. The fight quickly dragged itself into a bathroom before finally making its way towards ringside. Suzuki attacked Takagi with a giant poster and they brawled amongst the crowd. They reappeared cycling down to the ring on Takagi’s custom battle cycle. Takagi would eventually crash into the chair castle. Suzuki’s attempt to use the bicycle backfired when he accidentaly ran over Nakazawa. Another attempt at teamwork backfired when Nakazawa accidentely gave Suzuki the Ultimate Venom Arm. Suzuki no sold it and he gave his partner the Gotch-Style Piledriver. Kasai then hit the Pearl Harbour Splash from the top of a ladder onto Nakazawa.

DDT announced they will be making their own movie called Wrestling Cannonball. Starring a mixture of DDT wrestlers and being directed by Muscle Sakai, the movie is set for release next February. Sakai has asked Suzuki and Kasai to feature in the film.

i-dont-know

The DDT Extreme Title match was probably the most bizarre thing to ever happen in Sumo Hall and with six DDT shows at the arena in the bag that’s saying something. The challenger Muscle Sakai produced a Powerpoint presentation to explain how the match was set up. For some reason the main rule was if the match lasted 10 minutes then comedy actor Ryota Yamazato, who was brought in as a guest, would be blown up with no questions asked. Not trusting Danshoku Dino to win in under 10 minutes, Yamazato attacked him backstage and took his place in the match, even stealing Dino’s wrestling gear to wear. The match began but instead of wrestling, Sakai and Yamazato took part in a quiz instead until Sakai attacked the actor. Dino came to the rescue and the advertised match finally went ahead. But time ran out and security dragged Yamazato out of the arena to face his destiny. Dino and Sakai continued to fight as time slowed down and we got to hear their inner monologues. That ended when Dino pinned Sakai with a School Boy. Meanwhile outside the building the security blew up Yamazato with Anus Dynamite and a tribute for him appeared on the screen. Thus ends one of the weirdest paragraphs I have ever typed out.

kod6-drift

The streak continues! Soma Takao is still undefeated in “PETER PAN” after he and his Team Dream Futures partners won the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles. Takao also changed his colours from red to blue so he, Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie would be more colour coordinated with the Powerpuff Girls. After losing the All Asia Tag Team Titles on Saturday, Ishii & Irie quickly bounced back with this title win. Former champions Shuten-dōji demanded lots and lots of alcohol to get over their title loss.

cute-connection

The Cute Connection of Saki Akai, Makoto Oishi & Ladybeard defeated the random team of Aja Kong, Antonio Honda & Hiroshi Fukuda. After the match Oishi celebrated with the Up Up Girls, who performed their song “Chopper☆Chopper”. They also shot t-shirts into the crowd.

lilico-pins-matsuno

There were three Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title changes in the Battle Royal. The champion Akihiro was in the ring with Yoshihiko and together they were almost unstoppable. DJ Nira brought their reign of terror to an end and pinned Akihiro to win the belt. Nira went on to the final two but in the end fell to Gorgeous Matsuno. Singer LiLiCo awarded Matsuno the belt after the match but Nira suddenly knocked out the new champ with a Rocket Punch before fainting. Encouraged by the audience chanting her name, LiLiCo pinned Matsuno to become the new champion.

mikami-450

The show opened properly with GENTARO’s first match in DDT in over two years. He and MIKAMI triumphed over Yasu Urano & Akito. MIKAMI thanked GENTARO for giving him motivation to continue wrestling.

hoshitango-midnight-buenos-aires

DDT beat Union in an 8-Man Tag Team bout presented as one of the dark matches held before the show.

miyu-yamashita-crash-rabbit-heat

Tokyo Women’s Wrestling presented the first match of the day. Miyu Yamashita pinned Erin with the Crash Rabbit Heat to win the match for her team. While they were happy to perform in the dark match, all of the girls involved hoped they will grow enough to perform on the main card at next year’s Sumo Hall show.

Here we are again back at Sumo Hall for another “RYOGOKU PETER PAN”. Last year DDT ran two shows in the building over two days. This year they are back to doing just one but they also now have a date inside a modified Saitama Super Arena to look forward to in February. This Sunday’s show is already reported to be sold out and no walk up tickets will be available on the day. The show will air on Samurai TV! at 10pm local time that night. Highlights this year include a 3 Way main event, puroresu’s biggest active superstar facing a rookie phenom, the return of the Golden Star and the possibility of seeing the most serious wrestler this side of Lance Storm fighting inside a Ryogoku restroom.

0. Dark Match – DDT Vs Union: Daichi Kazato, SAGAT, Mitomi Masayuki & Tomoya Kawamura Vs Hoshitango, Rion Mizuki, Gota Ihashi & Shunma Katsumata

0. Dark Match – Tokyo Women’s Wrestling Offer Match: Miyu Yamashita, Chikage Kiba & KANNA Vs Shoko Nakajima, Yuka Sakazaki & Erin

After a stalled beginning in 2012 and some baby steps taken in 2013, Tokyo Women’s Wrestling became a lot more active in 2014. With a roster of nine women all in training they now regularly hold shows in small idol stages around Tokyo. Six of the girls get to perform inside Sumo Hall for a dark match. Out of the six, Miyu Yamashita and Chikage Kiba are the standouts. The queen bee of the promotion Nonoko will be part of the Battle Royal on the main card.

The show opens properly with two members of Smile Squash facing against two DDT veterans. Akito levelled up a lot this year by getting a KO-D Openweight Title shot in April and establishing the Triangle Scorpion has his submission finisher of choice. Yasu Urano also had a KO-D Title match (the same day as Akito thanks to a Right To Challenge Contract) and held the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title a bunch of times. MIKAMI had a bad year and seems to be in the twilight years of his career. His recent poor form brought in GENTARO to slap some enthusiasm into him. GENTARO returned to the ring this year after health problems took him out of action for 21 months. Depsite being a shell of his former self, GENTARO still wrestles for the love of it and wants MIKAMI to have the same attitude.

2. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title – Battle Royal: Akihiro (c) Vs Daisuke Sasaki Vs Tomomitsu Matsunaga Vs Kazuki Hirata Vs Tetsuya Endo Vs Gorgeous Matsuno Vs Toru Owashi Vs DJ Nira Vs Shiro Koshinaka Vs Nonoko Vs Ai Shimizu Vs FUMA Vs Kizaemon Saiga Vs Yoshihiko

The Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title was almost put out to pasture this year when it approached a major milestone. Sanshiro Takagi became the 999th champion but out of greed wanted to retire the championship before it could crown a 1,000th champion. The creator of the championship Poison Sawada returned to DDT and did everything he could to keep the belt active and prevent Takagi from sealing it away. Everything from convincing him that the belt was actually a map for secret Aztec treasure to controlling other wrestlers with S-Cells to fight on his behalf. The conflict finally ended when the actual title belt pinned Takagi and became the 1,000th champion. Since then it went around Jun Akiyama’s waist and enjoyed a brief trip to All Japan before winding up in possession of Akihiro, another blow up doll. Now the belt will be up for grabs in a Battle Royal with Shiro Koshinaka and Kizaemon Saiga among the guest entries. What will happen if Akihiro and Yoshihiko are the only two left in the ring? Reality might glitch out the same way a Nintendo 64 wrestling game does when you play an AKI Man Vs THQ Man match.

3. Saki Akai, Makoto Oishi & Ladybeard Vs Aja Kong, Antonio Honda & Hiroshi Fukuda

This is an odd mix of personalities. Saki Akai made her pro wrestling debut at last year’s “RYOGOKU PETER PAN” and has made several appearances for DDT since then, wearing as much red as Eva Marie. Makoto Oishi took part in a bunch of Idol Lumberjack Death Matches just so he could hang out with his favourite popstars. Ladybeard is a cross dressing gaijin heavy metal singer and part time wrestler who is currently dominating Union’s women’s division. Those three have bonded over how cute they are and they’re calling themselves the Cute Connection. Then on the other team you have joshi monster Aja Kong, Happy Motel founder Antonio Honda and the most patriotic American in Japan Hiroshi Fukuda.

4. Street Wrestling Match: Sanshiro Takagi & Jun Kasai Vs Minoru Suzuki & Michael Nakazawa

So some of you may have been watching the G1 Climax this year and thought “Gee, that Minoru Suzuki fella is pretty great. I wonder what he will be up to after this?” Well he’s going to be brawling around Sumo Hall with Sanshiro Takagi, Jun Kasai and Michael Nakazawa, that’s what he is up to next. In a parody of John Cena Vs The Rock, DDT booked Takagi Vs Suzuki as their Once In A Lifetime match two years ago. The rivalry came back to life at the beginning of this year when Nakazawa used Suzuki as his secret weapon to beat Takagi in a Weapons Rumble match. Sensing the advantages of staying with Suzuki and being more desperate for attention than an indie wrestler with a Twitter account, Nakazawa asked to be coached by him so he could become a hybrid fighter. It took a couple of months but Suzuki finally agreed and put Nakazawa through a hellish training program. Nakazawa came out of it learning the Hybrid Venom Arm Sleeper and has been winning matches with the move left, right and centre since then. Takagi needed to find someone to team with and found just the man crazy enough to fight Suzuki, Jun Kasai! Not only that but they constructed a special combat bicycle to use against the hybrid fighters. With the teams set, DDT decided to bump up the annual Street Wrestling dark match into the main card for such a heated rivalry.

5. KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles: KUDO, Yukio Sakaguchi & Masa Takanashi (c) Vs Keisuke Ishii, Shigehiro Irie & Soma Takao

If it wasn’t for the existence of the Iron Man Title, then the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles would be known as the hot potato of DDT. Ever since its creation in 2013 no team has been able to defend the belt more than twice. Shuten-dōji are the current holders, they are a trio who formed over their shared love of alcohol. Their leader KUDO had mixed fortunes during the Spring, winning the KO-D Title in March only to lose it one month later. Yukio Sakaguchi is one of the most dangerous fighters in the roster due to his MMA background. His presence is always a little jarring in DDT but he seems to fit in with the nonsense that goes on around him. Rounding out the team is Masa Takanashi, the little guy with a high tolerance for liquor. Challenging them for the belts is Team Dream Futures. Formed as a united attempt to take over DDT’s main event scene Keisuke Ishii, Shigehiro Irie & Soma Takao are the most tightly knit unit in the company. Irie in particular has seen a lot of success, being a former KO-D Champion and one half of last year’s Ryogoku main event. Also Irie and Ishii held the All Asia Tag Team Titles in All Japan, only losing them today as I type this (bloody wonderful timing there). Meanwhile Soma Takao is doing… I don’t know. He takes a back seat to Ishii & Irie’s plans. With that being said, Takao is currently undefeated at “PETER PAN” shows. Ever since his debut match at the very first “PETER PAN” show in 2009, Takao has had a 5-0 record at DDT’s biggest show of the year (6-0 if you include both of last year’s Sumo Hall shows, Day 1 was not a “PETER PAN” show). While this isn’t on the level of the the most important streak in wrestling today (*cough*R.D. Evans*cough*), it is still a pretty impressive record. He’s probably going to get pinned now that I said it.

6. DDT Extreme Title – Important Something Timed Blast Death Match: Danshoku Dino (c) Vs Muscle Sakai

The DDT Extreme Title has been associated with Danshoku Dino for a lot of its 8 year existence. Dino is a seven time champion and has come up with plenty of bizarre match stipulations in the past. Dino was given the opportunity to choose his challenger for DDT’s biggest show of the year. He wanted a match with a close friend and one of DDT’s more memorable wrestlers, Muscle Sakai. Despite being retired, Sakai reappeared on the scene last year under the Super Sasadango Machine gimmick. Even when his cover was blown he kept wrestling under the mask. This year he became an expert in using Powerpoint presentations and used his knowledge to create the Lehman Shock, a Wrist Clutch Impaler DDT that depletes 35% of a wrestler’s health points. If used three times in a match it guarantees victory (unless it’s used against HARASHIMA who always wrestles with 110% HP). Now back as himself, Sakai has a powerful move in his arsenal. He also had sex with a cross dresser to prepare for Dino’s hyper homosexual offence. Dino decided that he and Sakai will fight in an Important Something Blast Death Match. A blast of some sort will happen at ringside after the 10 minute mark. Dino admits he was lazy with coming up with the idea. However he and Sakai demand that every person who criticises their idea should apologise to Atsushi Onita and Terry Funk for showing disrespect.

7. Special Single Match: Kota Ibushi Vs Shuji Kondo

A poorly timed concussion prevented Kota Ibushi from being involved in both this year’s G1 Climax and from celebrating his tenth year in pro wrestling. With Sumo Hall confirmed as the location for his return match, Ibushi picked Shuji Kondo from Wrestle-1 to be his opponent. The two competed together years ago in El Dorado and dragondoor. Ibushi looks up to Kondo and could not be happier to get the match against him. Ibushi confirms that he was given the all clear and isn’t anxious at all to return to the ring.

8. Special Single Match: Konosuke Takeshita Vs Hiroshi Tanahashi

The Present versus the Future. This is DDT’s big crossover match for the year as their rookie phenomenon Konosuke Takeshita takes on New Japan’s biggest star Hiroshi Tanahashi. Takeshita’s year saw him form a team with Tetsuya Endo and wrestle the Golden Lovers to a 30 minute draw. They also became allies with Antonio Honda and formed a unit called Happy Motel. When this match was announced Takeshita said he wasn’t impressed with Tanahashi’s moniker of being a once in a century talent. Why? Because Takeshita is a one in 200 million million years (including Jurassic era) talent! Oddly enough, Takeshita did not watch any of Tanahashi’s matches during the G1. He did not dare watch a second so he could experience his matches for himself when they both get in the ring.

9. KO-D Openweight Title – 3 Way Match: HARASHIMA (c) Vs Kenny Omega Vs Isami Kodaka

For the first time a 3 Way match main events DDT’s biggest show of the year. HARASHIMA has been DDT’s John Cena this year, holding the KO-D Openweight Title for most of the last twelve months. He’s been happy to wrestle any challenger and in the end overcame every obstacle in his way with the Somato. When the Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere contracts came into play HARASHIMA defended the belt against all comers. He even had two successful defences back to back on the same day. When Union’s Isami Kodaka was the dark horse winner of the King Of DDT tournament, everyone expected him and HARASHIMA to be the Sumo Hall main event. Then Kenny Omega came in with the final Right To Challenge Contract and fought HARASHIMA to a Double KO stalemate. With two viable contenders available DDT decided to have both of them face the champion at Sumo Hall. Will HARASHIMA win again? Will Kenny climb back to the top of the DDT mountain? Or will Isami bring DDT’s biggest prize back to Union?

7. Keisuke Ishii, Shigehiro Irie & Soma Takao defeated HARASHIMA, Yasu Urano & Akito when Soma pinned Akito with the Gin And Tonic (15:06).

The Idol Lumberjack Deathmatch was the most notable event on today’s show. Makoto Oishi put his DDT Extreme Title on the line and had the idol group Sizukaze & Kizuna by his side. Danshoku Dino countered by bringing in Stardom wrestler Yoshiko to be his lumberjack. While Oishi’s idols attacked Dino with plastic hammers whenever he was knocked out of the ring, Yoshiko got more involved by dropping Sentons onto Oishi whenever he was laid out on the floor. Both Yoshiko and the idols also attacked the wrestlers inside the ring when the referee was wiped out by Dino’s Lip Lock. After the ref recovered Oishi took control until Yoshiko knocked him off the top turnbuckle with a thrown chair. Oishi grabbed the mic and yelled at Yoshiko for being an ugly female wrestler. The girls from Sizukaze & Kizuna got mad at Oishi for his behaviour and turned on him. All of the lumberjacks beat up Oishi and pretty much handed Dino the win, making him a 7 time DDT Extreme Champion. After the match Oishi begged Yoshiko and the idols for forgiveness. They did and everybody then danced.

Team Dream Futures will be keeping a close eye on tomorrow’s KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Title match. Soma Takao noted that DDT now has many different units on their roster but Drift is the team that wants the 6-Man Title the most.

The Infomercial Match promoted DDT’s Best Stretch parlour and started off as Sanshiro Takagi & Super Sasadango Machine Vs Kazuki Hirata & Tetsuya Endo. The match consisted of everyone giving each other stretching exercises instead of wrestling moves and at some point changed into Takagi & Hirata Vs Machine & Endo. Machine pinned Hirata with the Lehman Shock and afterwards credited the stretching exercises for improving his finishing move by 35%.

Shun Miyatake (Trainee) appeared at the beginning of the show to give an update of his status since it has been a while since he had a match. Miyatake said he broke his leg six months ago and last month had surgery to remove the plate and bolts from his foot so he needed time off to rest. Amon Tsurumi didn’t believe him. Miyatake then said he was able to train during his absence but wound up injuring his hip from lifting 180kg weights. He also fractured his fourth lumbar vertebrae. Tsurumi had enough of Miytake’s lies and said he will never debut now because his injuries would take hundreds of years to heal! Miyatake said he heals fast and will be back around October or November.

Makoto Oishi was surprised to find out his next DDT Extreme Title defence will be against his good friend Danshoku Dino. During a press conference for the match Dino asked Oishi why is he so fond of wrestling in Idol Lumberjack matches? Oishi got flustered and tried to explain it is a fun match for both the wrestlers and the fans. Dino wonders if the real reason is Oishi wants to spend a lot of time being next to his favourite idols. Dino has yet to announce who his idol lumberjacks will be.
