1. Saki Akai & Makoto Oishi Vs Yoshiko & Toru Owashi
2. Keisuke Ishii & Soma Takao Vs Antonio Honda & Daisuke Sasaki
3. KUDO Vs Danshoku Dino
4. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title – Battle Royal: Masa Takanashi (c) Vs X
5. KO-D Tag Team Titles – 3 Way Match: Isami Kodaka & Yuko Miyamoto (c) Vs Kota Ibushi & Kenny Omega Vs Konosuke Takeshita & Tetsuya Endo
6. KO-D Openweight Title: HARASHIMA (c) Vs Shigehiro Irie

Shigehiro Irie gets his rematch with HARASHIMA from last year’s second Sumo Hall main event. This time Irie is the challenger and HARASHIMA is dealing with now just having two title belts instead of three.

DDT rookies Konosuke Takeshita & Tetsuya Endo achieved a remarkable result yesterday, wrestling Kota Ibushi & Kenny Omega to a 30 minute draw. Both teams were rewarded with a KO-D Tag Team Title shot but it will be in a 3 Way Match against the champions. Isami Kodaka & Yuko Miyamoto can prove their dominance of the tag team division even more by beating two teams at once.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “TOKYO CIRCUIT 2013 ROUND 1”, 18/01/2014
Tokyo BASEMENT MON☆STAR

1. Shoko Nakajima Vs Ayumi Takada
2. Nonoko Vs Yuka Sakazaki
3. Miyu Yamashita Vs KANNA

DDT “GALAXY EXPLOSION IN NAGOYA 2014”, 02/02/2014
Nagoya Telepia Hall

1. DDT Extreme Title: HARASHIMA (c) Vs Keisuke Ishii

HARASHIMA’s other title will be defended against Keisuke Ishii. HARASHIMA’s DDT Extreme Title defences have been a wild departure from how he usually wrestles but Ishii seems to be a fairly normal wrestler. Will we get a more traditional stipulation or will HARASHIMA or Ishii show some imagination with their match choice.

UNION “DEMON UNION 2014”, 11/02/2014
Yokohama Radiant Hall

1. Shuji Ishikawa Vs Richard Burn

Union returns to the Pro Wrestling Vs Martial Arts match up that built the company when it was brought back to life in 2005. But I do not expect Shuji Ishikawa and Richard Burn to have such a heated feud that they will eventually fight in a ring filled with scorpions.

DDT celebrates the start of 2014 with an idea that killed the AWA, a team challenge series. DDT has been doing their own version in Korakuen Hall as their annual kick off show for the year. HARASHIMA and Danshoku Dino were the team captains this time but they did not face each other until the bonus main event. The HARASHIMA Army looked to have the contest won by 90 points when it was announced one last match was to happen with 300 points on the line. That match was a 30-Man Tag Team free for all, another annual tradition for the January kickoff show. Any chances for a heroic comeback by Team Dino were dashed when HARASHIMA himself scored the pin on Kazuki Hirata. Amon Tsurumi came out to give the big prize to every member of the HARASHIMA Army and it turned out to be… 100 yen for each wrestler on the team. Tsurumi complained that the prize money was his own cash and the total pot was half a month’s worth of his pocket money.

Sanshiro Takagi announced that starting from April DDT will have regular programming on Teletama, a terrestrial TV station based in Saitama. Takagi says DDT is building their base in Saitama to prepare their big plans for a show inside the Saitama Super Arena. Meanwhile the big annual “PETER PAN” event will take place on 17th August this year. It was announced without any mention of where it will take place. Could it be at the Saitama Super Arena this year?

HARASHIMA successfully defended his DDT Extreme Title against Super Sasadango Machine in a New Year Wrestling Card Death Match. The match involved a deck of cards, each card would have a wrestling move written on it. Every time a card was pulled and read out, the first wrestler who did the called move would earn a point. The match would end either by somebody getting 7 points or if somebody won the match by normal means. Some of the moves called out included Yoshiaki Yago’s Cobra Twist, Danshoku Dino’s Danshoku Nightmare and Satoshi Kojima’s “Bakayaro!” Machine Gun Chops. One of the cards even called for slow motion wrestling with “Etupirika” by Taro Hakase playing in the background. In the end the extra rules weren’t needed as HARASHIMA pinned Sasadango with the Somato.

The semi-main was a 10-Man Tag Team Elimination match. Danshoku Dino was in action teaming with Team Dream Futures and the returning Yoshihiko. The Golden Rendesvouz, Tetsuya Endo and Akito were their opponents representing the HARASHIMA Army. The crowd were excited to see Yoshihiko and Kota Ibushi face off again and they didn’t disappoint with some crazy exchanges. The two were eventually eliminated at the same time when Yoshihiko performed a Reverse Huracanrana on Ibushi from the second rope to the outside of the ring! The match eventually came down to Dino and Endo as the final two. Endo did everything he could against the veteren, even hitting the Phoenix Splash for a nearfall. Dino found his opening and pinned Endo with the Gay-do Clutch to win it for his team.

Sanshiro Takagi and Michael Nakazawa faced off in a Weapons Rumble in a match Nakazawa demanded after he refused to sign a new contract with DDT. If he won the match, he would sign the contract. There was a castle of chairs already set up in the ring and then a bicycle was brought down. Takagi ran down Nakazawa with a Lariat but accidentaly cycled into the chairs. More weapons were introduced until Nonoko from Tokyo Women’s Wrestling was introduced into the match to help Takagi. One more weapon was left to enter and Nakazawa said it was the weapon Takagi hates the most. “Kaze Ni Nare” played over the speakers and out came Minoru Suzuki! Suzuki gave Takagi the Gotch-Style Piledriver and a groggy Nakazawa crawled on top to pin him. Nakazawa celebrated his first win in 2014 and asked Suzuki if he could coach him. Suzuki tried to back out of it by saying he’s busy but Nakazawa asked him about wrestling at “PETER PAN” again. When they told Suzuki the date he said the G1 Climax is happening during that time but he was eventually convinced to do it.

Away from the ring, a series of Achievement Tests took place before the show. Saki Akai (the only person in the entire challenge who did not wrestle on the show), Tetsuya Endo & Guanchulo competed for HARASHIMA while Team Drift played for Dino. They all had to take three exams based on the subjects language, English and social. Tetsuya Endo scored highest with 175 points while Akai scored the lowest with a measly 57 points. They and Guanchulo still scored enough points to win the contest for HARASHIMA. Danshoku Dino complained afterwards because the exams were worth more points than any of the wrestling matches.

Kazuki Hirata now does the Emerald Frosion. Don’t know why that surprises me but it does.

Gorgeous Matsuno gave a New Year speech to the audience while his match was going on behind him.

Makoto Oishi & Saki Akai Vs Toru Owashi and Yoshiko from Stardom will take place at the next Korakuen show on 26th January.

A promotional gimmick for today’s show was every ticket for the event was priced at 2,000 yen. During the end of show speech, HARASHIMA said DDT will do the gimmick again next year. Amon Tsurumi cut in and said they weren’t going to make a profit that way. Sanshiro Takagi admitted he was going to secretly increase the price to 3,000 yen next year but was caught. This joke is in reference to a controversial 500 yen price increase for DDT tickets that will come into effect starting this April.

-7c. Shiritori Technique Match: HARASHIMA defeated DJ Nira with the Ultra Somato (16:48).
*V2 for HARASHIMA.

HARASHIMA went through what has to be the weirdest challenge of his career today. DJ Nira stepped up to challenge him for the DDT Extreme Title but the champion couldn’t decide what match to have. Nira thought this meant the show was now cancelled. They eventually decided to make it best two out of three rounds with a different stipulation for every round. Round 1 had the rule where Nira would win if he pinned HARASHIMA for one second while HARASHIMA had to pin Nira for ten seconds to win. HARASHIMA avoided that handicap by making Nira tap out to a Wristlock. Round 2 had the rule where you were disqualified if you spoke. You could still make noise and Nira did ever time HARASHIMA kicked him, you just could not speak. Nira found a note and wanted HARASHIMA to read it, but he didn’t fall for the trap. Instead HARASHIMA embarrassed himself and lost the round when he yelled “Here I come” when he was about to finish off Nira. The deciding round was a Shiritori match. Shiritori is a Japanese version of the game where you have to say a word that begins with the last letter of the previous word. In this case, the players had to perform a wrestling move instead of just saying the word. A wrestler loses if he fails to do a suitable move three times or if he cannot continue.

The game went as follows. HARASHIMA began the round with an Iron Claw. Nira did the Rocket Punch. HARASHIMA did a Chin Crusher. Nira did a Desperation Rocket Punch. HARASHIMA did a Chickenwing Armlock. Nira did another Desperation Rocket Punch. HARASHIMA did a Chickenwing Facelock. Nira did a Rocket Punch to the neck (noticing a pattern?). HARASHIMA did a Choke Sleeper but that was disallowed, so he did a Choke Slam instead. Nira did the “Rocket Punch of Useless Resistance”. HARASHIMA did a Chop. Nira did the Rocket Punch Push. HARASHIMA did a different Chop but it wasn’t allowed. He struggled to think of a move until he figured out he could do the Ultra Somato. Nira tried to get up and do the Rocket Punch but he collapsed, giving HARASHIMA the victory!

Yukio Sakaguchi gains momentum for his upcoming KO-D Openweight Title match by pinning former champion KUDO in the semi-main tag match.

Danshoku Dino used his match against Tetsuya Endo to interrogate what the young wrestler has been up to during his absence. Makoto Oishi told the audience a rumour that Tetsuya Endo was not really Tetsuya Endo but someone pretending to be him. Guanchulo told Dino & Oishi that he saw Endo leaving the DDT dormitory late one night and ever since then he has acted differently. Dino did his usual tricks in the match and got Endo to confess. Endo said it was Kazuki Hirata’s birthday two days ago and he couldn’t afford to buy him the gift he wanted, so he got a part time job to get extra cash. The reason Endo has been acting differently is because of exhaustion. With the mystery solved, everyone began to sing Happy Birthday to the absent Hirata.

Michael Nakazawa used his appearance in the 4 Way Match to plug his new DVD. The DVD includes matches of Nakazawa and Tomomitsu Matsunaga teaming together as the Nuru Nuru Brothers. They brought the gimmick back during the match, covering themselves in lotion to slip out of their opponents’ moves. The plan backfired when Nakazawa tried to pin Makoto Oishi with La Magistral Cradle only for Oishi to slip away and roll up Nakazawa for the three count instead.

Amon Tsurumi announced the next KO-D Tag Team Titles defence will take place inside the Musashi Koganei Station shopping centre in Tokyo on 15th December. Isami Kodaka & Yuko Miyamoto will defend the belts in a 3 Way Match against Sanshiro Takagi & Kazuki Hirata and HARASHIMA & Yasu Urano. The winners will then defend the titles in Hakata later that day against Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie.

6. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Isami Kodaka & Yuko Miyamoto (c) defeated Kota Ibushi & Kenny Omega when Kodaka pinned Omega with the Rasengan (20:57).
*V3 for Yankii Ni Cho Kenju.

Isami Kodaka & Yuko Miyamoto made it clear they are the very best tag team in DDT right now after defeating the Golden Lovers to retain the KO-D Tag Team Titles. Their next defence will be in Hakata on 15th December. The champions pointed out that two wrestlers from Union and 666 now currently dominate both the DDT and Big Japan tag team divisions and they should not be treated like fools because they come from “smelly indies”. Kodaka even asked for the title match to take place in the streets or the local shopping mall. Backstage, Kenny Omega said being defeated was the worst and both he and Kota Ibushi wrestled with injuries. He wants a Falls Count Anywhere rematch in DDT next year and even Ibushi said he wants revenge.

HARASHIMA defended the DDT Extreme Title in a Blindfold Hidden Breasts Match against Antonio Honda. The rule were both men had to wear blindfolds and bras. The first man to find and strip his opponent’s bra would win. Yukinori Matsui got caught in the crossfire a few times and narrowly avoided the Somato from the champion. HARASHIMA was able to knock down Honda with a High Kick and then flattened him with the Somato, pulling off Honda’s bra afterwards to win. HARASHIMA complimented Honda for coming up with a great match idea which taught him some valuable experience.

DJ Nira suddenly appeared with Daisuke Kiso by his side. He told HARASHIMA it would be either him or Kiso who will be the next challenger. He then gave Kiso the Rocket Punch and said he was the next challenger. The match is booked for the 23rd November show in Yokohama However, Guanchulo earlier won a Battle Royal that granted him a shot at HARASHIMA’s Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title. It was agreed that he will face HARASHIMA in Sendai on the 24th. Kazuki Hirata snuck into the ring and attacked HARASHIMA. He rolled over HARASHIMA for a pin but only got a two count. He then fled the ring. If that wasn’t enough, Amon Tsurumi announced that HARASHIMA will defend his KO-D Openweight Title against Yukio Sakaguchi at the 23rd December Korakuen Hall show. HARASHIMA offered a handshake to Sakaguchi but he gave him a fist bump instead.

Speaking of Sakaguchi, he knocked out Shigehiro Irie with a Knee Strike to the face during their tag team match. Irie actually kicked out of the pin but was too groggy to stand up so the referee called for the match to end. A stretcher was brought out but Irie was helped out to the locker room by Keisuke Ishii and Soma Takao instead. Irie had no idea what happened and didn’t know the match was over.

Danshoku Dino & Makoto Oishi have found the perfect partner to go after the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles. That wrestler is Aja Kong! The trio earned a title shot by beating two thirds of the champs and Kazuki Hirata. Dino said they are all ready to bukkake on the grand champion Akebono.

Saki Akai will return for her third wrestling match at the 23/12 Korakuen show.

Masa Takanashi will be holding a special 10th Anniversary show in Edogawa on 17th December. Shuji Ishikawa, Kazuhiro Tamura, Emi Sakura and the UMA Corps will all appear on the show.

HARASHIMA continues to dominate in DDT and now finds himself as a Triple Crown Champion! He defeated Antonio Honda in a triple title match. HARASHIMA defended his KO-D Openweight and Iron Man Heavymetalweight Titles while Honda put his DDT Extreme Title on the line. It was a chance for Honda to bring out his best for the championship just like he did against GENTARO and Dick Togo over two years ago. But HARASHIMA proved too strong and was the last man standing. After the match HARASHIMA told Honda he is amazing and thanked him for a fun match. Amon Tsurumi approached the champion and asked him who he wanted to face in Korakuen Hall on 17th November for a KO-D Title match. However, HARASHIMA instead wanted to defend the DDT Extreme Title and he wanted to defend it against Honda! The two shook hands to confirm the rematch.

Akebono may be the new AJPW Triple Crown Champion, but he had more pressing matters to deal with today in DDT. That’s right, he had to defend the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles! He, Sanshiro Takagi & Toru Owashi were able to beat Team Dream Futures to mark their second defence of the titles. Takagi said Team Drift were strong but were also stunk as opponents. Danshoku Dino & Makoto Oishi showed up afterwards to challenge the champions and Akebono was not happy to see Dino. Since Akebono will be busy in All Japan, Takagi arranged a Six-Man Tag Team match between himself, Owashi & Kazuki Hirata against Dino, Oishi & their currently unknown partner to determine if they will be No. 1 Contenders. Dino told Akebono he is looking forward to facing him. Akebono then told Takagi to “Please win!”

The Golden Lovers have become the No. 1 Contenders for the KO-D Tag Team Titles after winning the 3-Way Tag match. They will face Yuko Miyamoto and the new BJW Death Match Champion, Isami Kodaka at the 17/11 Korakuen show.

Saki Akai told Mio Shirai after their tag match that she does not play around. She told the crowd that she was really happy to wrestle here because she was born in Osaka and her father competed and even retired in this building. She promised to be stronger when she returns. She also thanked Yukio Sakaguchi for encouraging her and wants to team with him again.

Popularity power can only take you so far. Danshoku Dino earned his place in the main event by winning the 2013 DDT48 General Election. He put his Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title on the line against HARASHIMA, with his KO-D Openweight Title up for grabs as well. Dino dug deep but was not strong enough to dethrone the champion. However, he kept fighting until he could not do so anymore. HARASHIMA got near falls with the Somato. Dino got one last chance shot with the Gay-do Clutch but HARASHIMA kicked out and followed up with a Running Knee Lift. Dino collapsed and the referee called for the match to end in HARASHIMA’s favour. Dino was dejected after the match and hid his head under his hands sadly reminding himself that he won the DDT48 Election.

The dreaded Rock-Paper-Scissors tournament made a surprise return after the main event. The 18-person tournament was done to determine the No. 1 contender for the KO-D Title. Antonio Honda was the last man standing and he will face HARASHIMA for the KO-D Title in Osaka on 2th November. Sanshiro Takagi appeared to officiate the semi finals but couldn’t do the final due to muscle tension. Luckily Ryota Yamasato, the Nankai Candies member who was involved with DDT’s Sumo Hall shows this year was in the audience and stepped in to judge the final.

Some bad blood between Kota Ibushi and Hikaru Sato was rekindled after the semi-main event. The two brawled with each other even though the match was over. The match itself spilled out of the ring and into the crowd, highlighted by Ibushi Moonsaulting onto Sato from one of the spectator entrances.

Hiroshi Fukuda defeated Konosuke Takeshita with a little help from his tambourine. Afterwards he happily thanked everyone and Takeshita for the match, then told Takeshita that there is no need for two people in the entertainment industry to be nicknamed “The Future”. He will now take the name solely for himself. Takeshita shut him up with a Dropkick but Fukuda was still able to have the last word. “Perfect…”

There was a problem with the DDT Extreme Title match. Antonio Honda and Super Sasadango Machine both arrived to the building feeling incredibly tired. When the time came for the champion Honda to decide what the rules of the match should be, both he and Sasadango fell asleep in the ring. When it became time for the match to begin Amon Tsurumi made the decision himself and made it a Sleep Prevention Death Match where the goal is to make your opponent fall asleep for three seconds. A futon was placed in the ring and the lights dimmed as the match began. Sasadango gave Honda a Suplex onto the futon for a “two count”. Honda then put Sasadango in a Sleeper Hold for another “two count”. An energy drink was brought into the ring only for the spokesperson to Lariat both wrestlers and Hulk out afterwards. Honda got to the energy drink first and then knocked off Sasadango’s mask with a Diving Fist Drop, revealing him to be Muscle Sakai. Sakai recovered and hit Honda with a Missile Dropkick. He did one more but landed on top of the futon where he fell asleep. Honda gently pulled the duvet over Sakai for the “three count” and successfully defended his DDT Extreme Title. After the match Honda thanked the fans for coming to see the show or for watching it on Samurai! TV and said the match felt like he was in a dream.

After Super Sasadango Machine woke up, Saki Akai appeared and said she will team up with Yukio Sakaguchi for a mixed gender tag match in Osaka on 11th November. Amon Tsurumi titled their match the Eagles II Rocky Of Naniwa II Tag.

Isami Kodaka, Makoto Oishi and Yasu Urano together yelled “We are KAIENTAI DOJO!” before their match with the Team Dream Futures. The three wrestlers all began their careers in K-DOJO before eventually finding their way to DDT and Union.

Tetsuya Endo announced he will return to action on 27th October after recovering from a dislocated shoulder.

Tokyo Women’s Wrestling announced a new trainee, Ayumi Takada. She will debut on their first proper show in Kitizawa on 1/12.

The dark match had everyone involved break into song midway through the contest.

7. KO-D Openweight Title & Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title: HARASHIMA (c) (#4) Vs Danshoku Dino (c) (#1)

The entire reason the DDT48 General Election exists finally pays off with this show on Sunday. Everyone on the card was voted in by the results of the election.

The main event is now a double title match. Danshoku Dino won the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title from KUDO in Sapporo last week. He promises to defeat HARASHIMA so he can hold both the KO-D Openweight Title and Iron Man Title at the same time. The last time both titles were defended in the same match was Kota Ibushi Vs Yoshihiko in 2009, one week shy of it being exactly four years ago. Ibushi won that match but Yoshihiko won back the Iron Man Title almost immediately afterwards. So yeah, don’t be surprised if something like that happens again.

The stipulations for the DDT Extreme Title match between Antonio Honda and the instantly popular Super Sasadango Machine will be announced during the show.
