With wrestling shows around the world getting cancelled by the Covid-19 epidemic, DDT has decided to make 20 events over the last 3 years on DDT UNIVERSE free to watch for everyone. No registration is needed! From 11th March onward, two shows per day will be updated to free status for a limited time. A few things about this show. It is being held at Saitama Super Arena empty arena style. This was the plan before the Coronavirus situation appeared. The DDT Extreme Title bout will not be the only match happening. Atsushi Onita will be there expecting to have a Current Blast Death Match of some sort. Oh and now Danshoku Dieno is angry that he was booked without being told so he is forming a locker room coup to wage war against Sanshiro Takagi.

After a four hour training course, Matsumoto created her ramen dish and was gifted a 500 yen coin by the chef. Sawa called it a great first step that shows how Gake no Fuchi Joshi can become more and more valuable.

The match name is sort of misleading. Originally Ganbare☆Wrestling began in 2013 and regularly ran shows for the year. It then took a break in the first few months of 2014 to relaunch as a “major sports league” in April of that year. So this match is the 6th Anniversary of the relaunch.

Ganpro celebrates its anniversary with a return to the promotion’s deepest feud. Minoru Fujita and the Tomodachi-gun unit were a thorn in Ken Ohka’s side from 2015 to 2016. Now Fujita has revived it for the special occasion with one of the original members Hagane Shinno (he was wrestling under the name Madoka back then). Keisuke Ishii gets to find out for himself what this unit was like to fight.

Maki Itoh is happy to have somebody as pure as Raku teaming with her. She will bring the colour of Itoh out of Raku. Miu Watanabe is still feeling frustrated over losing to Raku recently. The result makes her want to spring into defending the tag titles. Rika Tatsumi started a fight with Itoh which is stronger, Tatsumi’s “diamond hips” or Itoh’s “big head”. Tatsumi is also still bitter over losing a singles match to Itoh last year.

After being away from the KO-D Openweight Title scene for a while, Konosuke Takeshita is excited to be chosen as the next challenger. He remembers his dad once renting an FMW video tape with Tanaka’s matches on it. Ever since then Takeshita has followed Tanaka’s career. Now his name will be written into the Reiwa era of Tanaka’s wrestling history. Tanaka was honored to hear this but he still thinks he will beat Takeshita. He is from the land of athletes worthy of being athletes because of his background with Gold’s Gym. When the match takes place, Tanaka will make the fans think he is still strong. He named the four wrestlers he thinks are the symbols of DDT: HARASHIMA, Tetsuya Endo, Daisuke Sasaki and Konosuke Takeshita. Tanaka is one win away from having a clean sweep against all of them.

Sasaki briefly stole the DDT UNIVERSAL Title right after Chris Brookes became the first champion. He gave the belt back and apologised for his thievery. He promised to reflect on his actions and will only claim the title belt by winning it as an athlete. Brookes does not believe Sasaki is being honest. He thinks Sasaki is strange like an old dog. His promise is to put Sasaki out of his misery and maybe even stab him. Brookes warned that their match for the UNIVERSAL Title will not be a true representation of his ring skill. It will be a dirty match on both sides.

A lot more is happening on this show. Naomichu Marufuji returns to wrestle for DISASTER BOX, the Business Alliance of DAMNATION & #STRONGHEARTS are pitted against the newest DDT unit Eruption and 19 year old Hideki Okatani has his debut match.

1. Ganpro World Tryout: Shin Suzuki defeated E10 with the Besitanic (8:53).
2. Ganpro Specialty Special 3 Way Match ~HARUKAZE’s Close Call~: Kuishinbo Kamen & Kuishinbo Kamen (Shota) defeated HARUKAZE by Disqualification when HARUKAZE unmasked both Kamens (7:59).
3. Ganpro & GanJo Special Mixed Tag Match: Shuichiro Katsumura & Moeka Haruhi defeated Shinichiro Tominaga & Asuka when Katsumura submitted Tominaga with a Cross Armbreaker (12:29).
4. Ganpro Vs TTT Full Battle: Ken Ohka defeated Guts Ishijima with the Fire Spear (7:41).
5. Ganpro Vs Pro Wrestling BASARA Full Battle: Kouki Iwasaki & Washi Sakurai defeated Ryuichi Sekine & Tetsuo Usui when Iwasaki submitted Usui with a Texas Cloverleaf (12:56).
6. Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title: Keisuke Ishii (c) defeated Yumehito Imanari by TKO with the Double Arm Neck Lock (22:48).
*V5 for Keisuke Ishii.

A never say die attitude from Yumehito Imanari led to him having the match of his life. After a hard fight for over 20 minutes, Keisuke Ishii gave Imanari the Tiger Driver. Imanari didn’t respond so the referee began a 10 count. Imanari was able to get back to his feet on time but he couldn’t defend himself against Ishii’s next attacks. When the Double Arm Neck Lock was applied, Imanari was motionless and the match was called. Ishii has achieved the 5th defence of his current Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title reign. He gave Imanari credit and called him a wonderful pro wrestler.

Kouki Iwasaki came out to challenge Ishii next. He said Ishii always wins and that has made Ganbare☆Wrestling really boring. They are usually a tag team but Iwasaki wants to win the title from Ishii and stand in the middle of the ring as a symbol of Ganpro’s strength! Ishii reached out for a handshake but found himself ducking a High Kick from Iwasaki! Iwasaki left the ring smiling.

Washi Sakurai and Ryuichi Sekine had to be pulled apart after Match #5. They kept trying to attack each other even after Iwasaki had submitted Tetsuo Usui.

The feud between Ganpro and what’s left of the Real GUTS Army can be put to rest. Ken Ohka defeated Guts Ishijima in a clean and decisive manner.

Shuichiro Katsumura & Moeka Haruhi are continuing to dress up in THE HALFEE costumes and perform a song for their entrance. Asuka hit a big Moonsault onto them out of the ring. But back in the ring Katsumura caught Shinichiro Tominaga in a Cross Armbreaker. Tominaga tried to fight out of it until Haruhi landed a Double Stomp on him. Katsumura then tightened the Armbreaker until Tominaga gave up.

Shota disguised himself as Kuishinbo Kamen by wearing a similar looking mask. However he also wore a grey tracksuit instead of a costume similar to Kamen’s. After a collision with the Daisuke Kiso, Shota unmasked the real Kamen and threw the mask to HARUKAZE. Shota acted like he was also unmasked, despite still wearing a mask. When Kiso got back up he saw HARUKAZE holding the mask and disqualified her, rewarding the match to both of her opponents. HARUKAZE sat down in a chair to protest the result but the two Kamens lifted the chair out of the room with her still sitting on it.

The visiting E10 was described as “Now on honeymoon” during his introduction. Unfortunately he lost his match to Shin Suzuki so let’s hope the wife wasn’t around to see that.

At the start of the show Asuka announced she will be regularly wrestling in Ganpro starting from today.

For fuck sake Guts Ishijima, stick to one affiliation please! He formed TTT (Total Triumph Team) in December and the promotion held its first show on 25th January. With THE HALFEE idea now put on the shelf, Shuichiro Tominaga & Moeka Haruhi are going back to their regular ring names. However Shuhei Washida has taken to the name Washi Sakurai and wants to stick with it.

When Shota went on tour in Australia last year he wrestled for a promotion called Pro Wrestling Power in Cairns, Queensland. One of the locals who caught his attention goes by the name of E10. He is coming over to Japan later this month for a tryout in Ganbare☆Wrestling. E10 is 178cm tall, weighs 77kg and his signature moves are the Side Effect and the Frog Splash.

There’s another Australian heading over to Japan soon, this one for DDT. Melbourne high flyer Royce Chambers will be in DDT from 1st to 20th March. His acrobatic moves and matches from Melbourne Championship Wrestling have been getting attention online and impressed the likes of Konosuke Takeshita. DDT is bringing in Chambers on Takeshita’s recommendation. Chambers is 180cm tall, weighs 86kg and has only been wrestling for two years.

Yuni closes out the childhood portion of his wrestling life by facing his career rival Kazuki Hirata.

The final of four Ganbare☆Wrestling shows today was headlined with a GWC 6-Man Tag Team Titles defence. The challengers are normally Moeka Haruhi, Shuichiro Katsumura & Shuhei Washida. But today they are Moehiko Harumisawa, Katsuzaki Shunosuke, Washi Sakurai… THE HALFEE! They entered the ring singing “Distance Of The Starry Sky” by THE ALFEE. But when they were done they didn’t wait for Ganpocha-gun to finish their own entrance. An ambush began the match. Things got out of hand when Miss Mongol pulled the fake eyelashes off of Harumisawa. Ken Ohka tried to give her the Brainbuster but it was countered into the Double Wrist Armsault. Sakurai kicked out of the Chubby Knee from Yumehito Imanari and slapped his way back into the match. But Imanari took him down with another Chubby Knee Kick for the finish.

Imanari thought THE HALFEE was a weird idea but he is now jealous after seeing their entrance. He was going to close out the show with a speech but Keisuke Ishii ran in and attacked him, just like he did this morning. This time Imanari blocked the Fisherman Suplex but Ishii fought harder and left him laying with the Double Arm Clutch Driver.

When Ishii left, Sakurai ignored what just happened so he could talk about his own problems. He debuted two years ago but today’s defeat was the most frustrating. He will get stronger and everyone will remember the name Washi Sakurai! Ohka shouted at Sakurai and dared him to throw a strike. Sakurai did so and Ohka responded with a Headbutt. It was all to show that Sakurai will do his best. The lesson Sakurai learned is if he is going to climb to the top he will always be attacked along the way. The show closed with THE HALFEE singing “Distance Of The Starry Sky” again.

The rest of the card was made up of regional based matches between Ganpro wrestlers against special guests. Kouki Iwasaki went against Tetsuhiro Kuroda of FMW fame. Iwasaki showed a lot of fight and kicked out of the Technan Buster at one. But his Middle Kick was countered with a Lariat that kept him down for the count.

Shota’s special match was against Shiori Asahi. The two traded submissions and looked evenly matched. The difference came when Asahi removed a turnbuckle pad during a rope break and threw Shota into the exposed corner. Shota was helpless and easily defeated after that moment.

Gota Ihashi got his request to team with HARUKAZE again. Their teamwork together is improving and it kept them motivated whenever Ishii & Shigehiro Irie took control. Late in the match Ishii put HARUKAZE in a Sleeper Hold while Irie applied a Camel Clutch to Ihashi. The underdogs grabbed each other by the hand to keep the pressure off until they were pulled away. There was no coming back after that and HARUKAZE gave up to Ishii’s Double Arm Neck Lock.

The only Ganpro regular to win one of the regional matches was Shinichiro Tominaga. He worked on Shigeyuki Kawahara’s arm until Kawahara’s guard was left open for the JK jumping knee kick.

For the first time in almost 5 years, Ganbare☆Joshi got an entire show to themselves. This was the third of four events Ganbare☆Wrestling held in Oji BASEMENT MON☆STAR today. Moeka Haruhi, HARUKAZE and Asuka got together for an exciting show against a trio representing the DDT Wrestling Classroom. Haruhi said her goal was to have a better show than the Katsumura-gun Vs Shota-gun event that took place earlier in the day.

The opening bout saw Haruhi take on Banny Oikawa in a 2 Count Fall match. With only two seconds needed to pin the opponent, the match was more tense than usual. Haruhi got one count nearfalls with a Diving Body Press and a Missile Dropkick. She was finally able to pin Oikawa with a Double Wrist Armsault.

HARUKAZE wanted a match with Yuu solely focused on mat wrestling so they both wore judo jackets. Yuu’s power was too much to handle. She used a Power Bomb to break out of a Cross Armbreaker and got a submission win by using the sleeve of HARUKAZE’s jacket to choke her out.

The last singles match of the challenge was between Asuka and Cherry in a Count Up Falls Match. Every second of a pin was added together until a target number was reached. The judges Ken Ohka, Kouki Iwasaki and Yumehito Imanari decided that the targets would be the wrestlers’ respective ages. So Asuka needed to reach 21 seconds while Cherry needed to get 45 seconds. It was an uphill battle for Cherry but her ring experience kept her on pace with Asuka. The match reached the point where Asuka was on 20 while Cherry made it to 44. One more second was needed for a winner to be declared. A Backslide Pin led to both women having their shoulders pinned at the same time so the match resulted in a draw. The team challenge would be decided in the main event.

The side attraction was a Lariat match between a bunch of mostly male wrestlers doing cross dressing gimmicks. Miss Mongol was the odd one out here. There was confusion when KEIKO (Keisuke Ishii) wrestled topless. Shigeko Deluxe (Shigehiro Irie) made her regret it with Chops in the corner. Theme songs of famous Lariat users played throughout the match. The Lariats turned to Dropkicks when the music changed to the AJW theme song. Eagle Washida (Shuhei Washida) got booed when he did Big Boots although to be fair “Soul Of A Champion” began to play so she was really doing a Giant Baba tribute. She did Neckbreaker Drops which are close enough to Lariats. She then did Sling Blades when “HIGH ENERGY” played. She then did a Rainmaker pose but Shigeko clocked her with a Lariat for the win.

The main event was a Secret Captain’s Fall Elimination match. Defeat the team captain to win but the captain would not be revealed until they were eliminated. Over The Top Rope eliminations were included and that was how the wrestlers were taken out of the match. When it came down to HARUKAZE and Cherry it was clear that they were both the captains. Cherry ended up standing on the ring apron and was knocked to the floor with a Spear to make the GanJo team the winners!

HARUKAZE said when she joined Ganpro, she was the only woman in the group so she was worried if she would be accepted. She didn’t get much cheers for her early matches but as time went by more and more fans supported her. Now she feels like she is a member of Ganpro.

1b. Lucha Libre Rules: Syuri pinned Takafumi Ito with a Crushed La Magistral Cradle (6:40).
1c. Pro Wrestling Rules: Shuichiro Katsumura pinned Shota with a Rotating Foot Hold (16:52).

Show #2 of Ganbare☆Wrestling’s quadruple header was a complete conflict between Shuichiro Katsumura and Shota. The two wrestlers had been trading wins back and forth over the last year and agreed to find some tag partners for a final showdown. Katsumura brought in an old rival Takafumi Ito as well as Mitsuhisa Sunabe. Shota’s teammates were Mitomi Masayuki, somebody he knows well in the indie scene, and from out of left field Syuri. The match itself was Best 2 out of 3 Falls with each fall having a different ruleset.

The 1st Fall was UWF Rules. Both teams begun the match with 3 points. They were deducted a point for every rope break. If a team reached 0 points they would automatically lose. Shunabe and Shota started off. Shunabe forced Shota to take a rope break with a Cross Armbreaker. Ito and Masayuki then tagged in. Masayuki proudly warned his opponent that he would show his the prestige of pro wrestling. Ito put him in an Anklelock and gave Shota’s team another rope break, putting them at risk of losing the fall. Syuri rescued the team somewhat by making Katsumura reach for the ropes twice. Masayuki’s “prestigious pro wrestling” turned out to be giving Ito a Low Blow while the referee was looking elsewhere. However Ito countered a Fireman’s Carry into a Haragatame to make Masayuki give up.

The 2nd Fall was Lucha Libre Rules. Both Katsumura and Shota did some acrobatic ringwork to fit in with the stipulation. Ito struggled to keep up with the pace even with both teams instructing him with what to do. They even did the Osaka Pro Hop spot with Ito looking like the fool. Ito eventually had enough and went after whoever was in his way. He attempted to pin Syuri with La Magistral Cradle but Syuro blocked it and got the three count with her own pin.

The final fall was a regular pro wrestling tag match. Both teams brawled around ringside. Back in the ring there was plenty of double team moves used. While everyone was getting their fair share of action, it all came down to Katsumura and Shota in the end. Shota went for a Rolling Cradle but Katsumura reversed it to grab the winning fall of the match.

Everyone in the match shook hands with each other at the end, except for Katsumura and Shota. Katsumura approached Shota and told him that all six of the wrestlers today got to show off various styles and match rules together. This is what Ganpro is all about. He shook Shota’s hand then promoted his GWC 6-Man Tag Team Title challenge with THE HALFEE taking place later tonight.
