Life is an adventure. That is the message being told by the first of four Ganbare☆Wrestling shows being held today. Yumehito Imanari put together his own Dragon Quest style adventure for the morning show. Fans entering the venue could see a collection of personal photos from Imanari’s life on display.

Inside the ring stood Ken Ohka playing the Priest class. He told the audience that the integral part of a lifelong adventure is a map. He struck a pose while the audience were given pens and paper to draw him for two minutes. When they were done, Ohka told everyone their drawing was not of him but of their own hero! The adventure they were about to embark on is their own. Hero Imanari appeared in the ring to represent everybody’s own hero.

The first battle Imanari found himself in was against the classic enemy, a Slime. A Ganbare☆Slime in fact. Imanari pinned it with a DDT to level up.

Imanari then told a story about a traumatic job he once had with a TV station in Nagoya. His boss Mr. Yamazaki hated him. An illusion of Mr. Yamazaki appeared at ringside using the power of harassment to harm Imanari. The hero was almost defeated but looked deep into his soul. He shouted back at the illusion, telling it “I am a different person from ten years ago!” He threw  bean at the illusion and it was defeated. Imanari leveled up again.

Low on HP, Imanari needed to find a shop to stock up on healing items. The ring turned into a Lawson store. However when Imanari found out the coffee he asked for did not come in the right size he found himself in a battle against Mr. Lawson. Imanari won with a DDT but suddenly the adventure began to get unstable.

The adventure’s Artificial Intelligence now had a life of its own! It demanded to know Imanari’s annual income as part of a questionnaire about the pro wrestling industry. It kept asking until Imanari gave his answer. He hasn’t changed his annual income for the last ten years but he still has a dream! He grabbed the Playstation in the ring and pulled out the game CD. The A.I. went into overdrive and shut down due to a heart malfunction. Imanari had defeated the final boss!

Ohka the Priest came back out and told Imanari that peace had returned to the temple. He praised Imanari for always being motivated going back to the first time they met. Imanari thanked Ohka for creating Ganpro and giving him a place to wrestle. He then told the audience that they are the heroes in their lives. Are you ready to unleash the hero sleeping inside you?

The show had a happy ending until Keisuke Ishii suddenly ran into the ring and gave Imanari a Fisherman Suplex. Game over.

Even though he won the D-Ou Grand Prix and was undefeated throughout the tournament, Masato Tanaka will not consider himself the strongest wrestler in DDT until he beats HARASHIMA to win the KO-D Openweight Title. He realises that the circumstances around this weekend’s match is very different from the 30 minute draw they had back in December. HARASHIMA claims he fought to win that time but still had fun, perhaps too much of it. This time he wants to fight like the champion he is.

Yuki Iino is fired up to win the KO-D Tag Team Titles on his own. He doesn’t trust Chihiro Hashimoto and she doesn’t trust him. Hashimoto has since made comments calling Iino an idiot that has made him angry.

Naomichi Marufuji still does not remember ever meeting Kazuki Hirata or having drinks with him. Hirata handed over a pair of Hirata GO! glasses to jog his memory but Marufuji broke them instead.

Three Right To Challenge Gauntlets are up for grabs in the Battle Royal. The match will end when all three prizes are claimed. However they don’t seem to be the only Gauntlets around this time.

The surprise opponent for Cherry is Asuka! The original plan was to reveal her on the day of the show but Ganbare☆Wrestling pushed ahead to announce her due to fans not wanting to wait that long.

Daisuke Kiso is making the main event a Secret Captain’s Fall Elimination match. The match will end when a team captain is eliminated. The twist is no one knows who the captains are until the elimination happens.

Kiso only found out recently that HARUKAZE does not own a judo jacket. She might have to borrow one from Gota Ihashi.

Moeka Haruhi had to be renamed Moehiko Harumisawa after a 3 Way Match gone wrong yesterday. More on that below.

1. Rename 3 Way Match: Moeka Haruhi defeated Shuichiro Katsumura and Shuhei Washida when Haruhi pinned Katsumura while Washida submitted to the Ninja Choke (22:27).

A one match Ganbare☆Wrestling show took place in Shimokitazawa with a high stakes 3 Way contest. The loser would have to be renamed. Moeka Haruhi won the match but the result was contested due to how the finish took place. Shuichiro Katsumura put Shuhei Washida in the Ninja Choke, Haruhi rolled Katsumura over for the pin but Washida gave up right when the referee counted three. The wrestlers came to a compromise and all agreed to change their ring names. Moeka Haruhi is now Moehiko Harumisawa, Shuichiro Katsumura is now Katsuzaki Shunosuke and Shuhei Washida is now Washi Sakurai. Since the three of them will be teaming up for a GWC 6-Man Tag Team Titles match on 2nd February, they decided to name their team THE HALFEE. One last thing. Whenever THE HALFEE have a match, referee Daisuke Kiso will be renamed Basic Kiso.

The 1st round matches have a 10 minute time limit. The Semi Finals have a 15 minute limit. The final has a 30 minute limit. If any tournament match other than the final ends in a draw then the winning team is determined with a game of Rock Paper Scissors.

Two guest wrestlers from CMLL will be on the show. Dalys returns to Tokyo Joshi Pro after touring with the company last September. La Jarochita makes her TJPW debut. The two luchadoras are in Japan for a Lady’s Ring show co-promoted with CMLL. The show is taking place three days before this one and has Dalys facing Mina Shirakawa for the newly created CMLL Japan Women’s Title.

1. Orange Town Specialty 3 Way Match: Yumehito Imanari defeated Shota and Shinichiro Tominaga when Imanari pinned Tominaga with the Koshi Michi Clutch (12:40).
2. Orange Town Specialty Mixed Tag Match: Moeka Haruhi & Kouki Iwasaki defeated Gota Ihashi & HARUKAZE when Haruhi pinned Ihashi with a School Boy ().
3. Orange Town Specialty Tag Match: Ken Ohka & Shuichiro Katsumura defeated Keisuke Ishii & Shuhei Washida when Ohka pinned Washida with the Fire Spear (13:36).

The team of Ken Ohka & Shuichiro Katsumura were introduced as The Ohka Spears Club. When they won in the main event, Ohka said The Ohka Spears Club will live on forever in Saitama Orange Town! He thanked Keisuke Ishii for putting in all the hard work promoting the show. He also told the fans that if you come to see Ganbare☆Wrestling at least once then you are part of the Ganpro family. Ishii hopes to hold an all day wrestling show in the venue one day.

Gota Ihashi wants to team with HARUKAZE more often. Ohka accepted his request and put together Ihashi & HARUKAZE Vs Ishii & Shigehiro Irie on 2nd February.

The 3 Way Match was mostly comedy which annoyed Shota. He wanted it to be an outrageous brawl around the fans. He kept trying to get members of the audience involved in the match but his opponents kept turning them down to keep them out of harm’s way. All the wrestlers hit each other with Low Blows until the referee also got hit below the belt. Shota had Shinichiro Tominaga pinned with the Delfin Clutch but the ref was still doubled over. Yumehito Imanari hit Shota with the Chubby Knee Kick and when the ref recovered, got the pin with his version of the Gedo Clutch.

Sakazaki & Itoh In EVE, Homoiro Clover Z Reunion

This past weekend Yuka Sakazaki and Maki Itoh both wrestled in England for “WRESTLE QUEENDOM 3” hosted by Pro-Wrestling: EVE. Sakazaki fought to a 15 minute draw against Lana Austin. After the match Sakazaki told Austin they can have a rematch for the Princess Of Princess Title if Austin ever comes to Japan. In the other match, Itoh defeated “Session Moth” Martina. She was amazed at how Martina controlled the audience support at first but Itoh got them on her side because she is the cutest in the world. Itoh also thinks it was 100 times more exciting to sing in England than it is to sing in Japan.

Anyway long story short, Sakazaki & Itoh are teaming together for their first match back in Japan since the EVE show.

Itoh has invited Bull Nakano to attend the big Tokyo Joshi Pro show at Tokyo Dome City Hall this November. The two met at a talk event yesterday. Nakano’s advice for Itoh was no matter how good she gets, she needs to develop rivalries with other wrestlers from her era. That is what attracts fans and gets them to keep watching.

Unfortunately I’m still struggling to keep up with BASARA because they are still only posting the bare minimum of info on their new website. I’ll keep posting results for now. I’ll have to find a way to dig deeper into this.

Anyway, Masahiro Takanashi is not taking it easy as the Union MAX Champion. He defeated Isami Kodaka in his first defence. Now next on the plate for him is another former MAX champion, Ryota Nakatsu. He also pinned Kodaka recently to claim the title shot.

Homoiro Clover Z are back! This was an idol unit put together by Danshoku Dieno between 2011 and 2012. There were a few reunions here and there afterward and it was never their decision to break up at the time. They had to because the entire roster was reset for new units to take their place.

Since there currently is not much interaction between the different brands on the main DDT shows, Akito is using the BOYZ brand to make matches involving Ganbare☆Wrestling wrestlers. Shota has been looking forward to wrestle against Konosuke Takeshita ever since he witnessed Takaeshita’s debut match back in 2012.

Akito thinks the YaroZ have their place on BOYZ shows too. They have their female fans believe it or not. Akito knows they can be as graceful as fairies if given the opportunity to.

Kazuki Hirata and Hiroshi Yamato will be on the show.

The card announcement was interrupted by a message from DAMNATION. They will be producing their own show in Shinjuku FACE on 7th April.

The next BOYZ show after this will be on 26th April at Itabashi Green Hall. However the next YaroZ show is also scheduled for the venue on the same day at the same time! An agreement was made for the shows to be held on separate floors. BOYZ gets the bigger room on the 2nd floor. YaroZ gets the smaller room on the 1st floor. They will have to use a low floor ring and can only fill in 124 people in the audience but the YaroZ people think the size is just right for them.

2. Special Tag Match: Ultimate Spider Jr. & Itsuki Aoki defeated Miss Mongol & Mizuki Watase when Spider pinned Watase with an Inverted Hurricanrana (9:54).
3. Ganpro Special Tag Match: Keisuke Ishii & Kouki Iwasaki defeated Shuichiro Katsumura & Yumehito Imanari when Ishii pinned Imanari with the Double Arm Extreme Driver (13:53).
4. Special Single Match: Chris Brookes defeated Shinichiro Tominaga with the Praying Mantis Bomb (14:02).
5. Scramble Bunkhouse Street Fight 6-Man Tag Death Match: The Great Nita, Ken Ohka & Hiroaki Moriya defeated Kenichiro Arai, Guts Ishijima & Shota when Ohka pinned Shota with the Vertical Drop Brainbuster (17:05).

The return of The Great Nita saw him attack Shota with a sickle, blind him with the Poison Mist and put him through a table with a Piledriver. He also attacked Guts Ishijima with the remains of the table. Ken Ohka got rid of Kenichiro Arai with the Fire Spear while Hiroaki Moriya took out Ishijima with a Lariat. The finish came when Ohka pinned Shota with the Vertical Drop Brainbuster.

But that wasn’t the end. Nita attacked Yukio Naya at ringside after the match and left him in a bloody mess with his sickle. Nita then wandered away and banged the sickle against the ring post. Ohka promoted the next Bakuha Koshien show on 28th March. He mentioned Atsushi Onita being absent from today’s show and assured everyone he will be back at Bakuha Koshien. Nita then attacked Ohka with the sickle but he got away mostly unharmed.

The language barrier was a little difficult but Chris Brookes got the message across to Ohka that he wants to be part of the Bakuha Koshien show when he comes back to Japan. Brookes was a big FMW fan growing up and he could never do an explosion match in England. He not only wants to take part in the match, he also wants to fight against Onita! It might kill him. If it does, it could also get him on the cover of Shukan Puroresu.

The second match turned out to be a lot more dangerous than expected. Mizuki Watase missed a Missile Dropkick intended for Ultimate Spider Jr. and hit Miss Mongol by accident instead. Mongol fainted which sent Watase into a rage. He charged at Spider but got pinned with an Inverted Hurricanrana. After the match Spider told everyone he wanted the match to be safer. He placed a chair down at the entrance stage and sat down in protest over how careless the match turned out. The other wrestlers simply lifted up the chair with him still sitting on it and carried him out of the room.

A 10 bell tribute was given to the late Kendo Nagasaki before the main event.

Now more than ever Yumehito Imanari has become confident and comfortable as a pro wrestler. He’s had doubts over the last few years but now he has the chance to become the Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Champion! He knows Keisuke Ishii will give him a battering on 24th February but Imanari is crazy enough to think he can still beat him. When he becomes the champ he will make Ganbare☆Wrestling even more unusual with his ideas. Ishii attacked Imanari after the show and gave him a Fisherman Buster in the ring.

The home team of Ishii & Kouki Iwasaki were so close to getting a victory over Enfants Terribles. They worked over Yusuke Kodama but when Iwasaki turned his attention to keeping Kuma Arashi out of the ring, Kodaka pinned him with a flash Frankensteiner.

Buffalo kept apologizing to Shota for giving up. Shota let slip Buffalo’s real name “Yamada” while he complained to him.

Everybody was replaced in the 3 Way Match. Choun-Shiryu was replaced by Hong Kong International Police Man. Moeka Haruhi was replaced by Hong Kong International Women Police Man. HARUKAZE was supposed to be replaced by Hong Kong Domestic Police Man but his plane was delayed so Hong Kong International University Attached Female High School Student wrestled in their place instead. The fans chanted “Kokusai” (International) during the match. The police wrestlers tried to arrest everyone involved in the match including the referee. Hong Kong International Police Man ended up getting arrested at the end when the other two pinned him.

Surprise! Konosuke Takeshita is heading to England in two weeks time! He is going over to wrestle on the “SCHADENFREUDE & FRIENDS” shows taking place in Manchester on the 21st and 22nd January.
