1e. FINAL MUCHA: Taiji Ishimori defeated Gedo with the Bloody Cross (7:11).

Okay, I’m used to writing about weird matches like this one. I should be able to figure this out. Man, New Japan has gotten weird lately…

After putting together a successful show last November where he took part in every single match on the card, Taiji Ishimori learned he had to go take on an even greater challenge put together by a mysterious AI that is out to get him for reasons I do not want to spend time learning about. He was being forced to take part in a 120 minute long Iron Man Rumble with four separate blocks of wrestlers to fight through. Ishimori’s goal was to make it through the gauntlet with more wins than losses. His reward for doing so would be a special singles match against a wrestler that he respects. I’ll get to the point here because it’s not DDT related, his final opponent was Gedo and he beat him.

Along the way, a few DDT wrestlers were among the random cast of wrestlers Ishimori had to fight and interact with. The first main path was the SECRET BLOCK made up of wrestlers who have appeared in commercials for the show sponsor in the past. That just so happens to include Jun Akiyama as the block’s final entrant. He didn’t understand what was going on and he was also immediately attacked by Dump Matsumoto. Ishimori was allowed to have reserve wrestlers temporarily take his place but The Brahman Brothers did a bad job in that role, piling up losses on his behalf. However they were able to knock Akiyama out of the ring to score a point before Ishimori moved on to the next block.

The second block was built around the Tohoku wrestling scene which meant Ishimori had to deal with wrestlers from Michinoku Pro as well as other wrestlers from the area. At this point Ishimori was also reminded of The Sailor Boys which caused him great mental harm. Things became a lot more calm when Ishimori and the Tohoku wrestlers all meditated inside the ring but MAO then entered the match to cause some chaos, particularly with TAKA Michinoku (who is from Chiba and didn’t appreciate being lumped in with the country bumpkins). When the block’s time expired, MAO and YOH had not been through any eliminations so they were allowed to advance to the next block alongside Ishimori.

Things became a lot more muscular next with the MUSCLE BLOCK. None of the new entries were from DDT but MAO was still there and with YOH’s help he ran over SHO at ringside with the Dramatic Dream bike! He also helped out Ishimori by eliminated Drilla Moloney before the time expired. The two posed their bodies like squares to celebrate and since MAO survived elimination again, he got to accompany Ishimori once more this time into the final block.

It was the DRAGON BLOCK where at first the wrestlers coming out were all from Dragon Gate. MAO’s luck ran out when Shun Skywalker eliminated him from the match. The block then switched things around when Ryuji Ito showed up (because he is the “Death Match Dragon”) followed by Tatsumi Fujinami! The last dragon to enter was the most important one. People expected it to be Ultimo Dragon but it was even better than him. It was Hiratimo Dragon! He was immediately beaten up by Ishimori and Dragon Dia. Hiratimo distracted the referee by telling him Danshoku Dieno was behind him, then he tried to frame Ishimori for pulling off his mask. The plan didn’t work, Ishimori threw the mask away and then he threw Hiratimo out of the ring. Backstage Hiratimo said it was a close call but his identity wasn’t revealed. All he has to say to Ishimori is that he’s gotten stronger.

3. G PRO WRESTLING ~ GLEAT Vs X – Go Miyake’s Return Match: Yukio Naya defeated Go Miyake with a Choke Slam (2:41).
5. G PRO WRESTLING ~ GLEAT Vs DDT: Daisuke Sasaki & Hideki Okatani defeated Takehiro Yamamura & Junjie when Sasaki submitted Junjie with the Crossface Lock (11:51).
6. G PRO WRESTLING ~ GLEAT Vs Shinya Aoki: Shinya Aoki defeated T-Hawk with the Aoki Clutch (8:41).

Now let’s move on to a place that has only slightly less nonsensical ideas than Ishimori. GLEAT came to Korakuen Hall a few days later putting together a show themed around the promotion taking on strong opponents from around the wrestling scene. DDT provided a few wrestlers on the “Strong Opponent” front. Things behind the scenes seem to be a little unstable over there but that has nothing to do with the DDT stuff so let’s just focus on that.

Shinya Aoki has previously fought in GLEAT under their UWF Rules banner of matches and continues to hover near the company under his own volition. He got to do a pro wrestling match here for the first time because he was intrigued by the clash of styles he would have with T-Hawk. Aoki took the nasty Chops his opponent has a habit of throwing and ended up catching him in the Aoki Clutch to get the three count out of nowhere. He said the match was so much fun because they clicked perfectly together.

DDT sent over Daisuke Sasaki & Hideki Okatani for a tag match. The GLEAT team was made up of Takehiro Yamamura & Junjie who were previously together as part of a recent unit called G-RIZE. Sasaki & Okatani did not come alone though. Ilusion was there at ringside to interfere whenever it was most convenient for his buddies. The GLEAT team got rid of the nuisance by throwing him out of the ring but DAMNATION T.A kept on pushing forward with their attack until they got their victory. The result left Yamamura & Junjie wanting revenge.

There was also a surprise appearance by Yukio Naya as the opponent for Go Miyake. The GLEAT rookie made his debut last year but suffered a kneecap injury not even two months after his debut. After being gone for a year and a half his return to the ring was going to be against El Lindaman but Lindaman declined to take part. Instead he chose Miyake’s opponent and it turned out to be Naya. Given the low level of experience Miyake has at this point, it only took less than three minutes for Naya to beat him. Afterward Naya said he heard about how hard Miyake was working to reach his comeback and motivated him to do his best.

7. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Fuminori Abe & Takuya Nomura (c) defeated Akito & Yuya Koroku when Abe pinned Koroku with a Modified Triangle Lancer Cutback (15:11).
*V5 for Astronauts.

It turns out that Astronauts were just that little bit more skillful than their challengers today. Fuminori Abe & Takuya Nomura trapped Yuya Koroku & Akito in separate Octopus Stretches but both holds were countered. Koroku got out of Abe’s Stretch and gave him an Intercept DDT off the ropes. Then he started putting Abe in the Modified Triangle Lancer while Akito captured Nomura in an Ankle Lock. However Abe countered the Triangle Lancer into a Small Package and he pinned Koroku to survive a close call. The two teams shook hands after the match.

After the match Yukio Naya walked down to the ring to tell Astronauts he wants a shot at the KO-D Tag Team Titles. He also told them his tag team partner is backstage. Out walked Yuki Iino to the ring! He thanked Naya for calling him because he’s been recovering from a fractured eye socket for the last four months and been itching to fight again. He also wants to become a KO-D Tag Champion again as soon as possible. The match will take place on 29th June. Iino tried to say his “I am BURNING!” catchphrase but Abe slapped him in the jaw during it. Iino tried it again but Abe slapped him a second time. So Iino walked back to the entrance where he was able to finish his catchphrase without introduction. It made him so excited he did it several more times.

The contract signing for the KO-D Openweight Title match was tense with neither Chris Brookes nor Kazusada Higuchi saying anything. Then later in a show Higuchi sent a message loud and clear by beating Brookes clean with the Claw Slam in a tag match. They finally made some comments afterwards backstage. He said he lost to Brookes in Nagoya but gained something by winning here. There are more preliminary matches coming up so he’ll keep going until they get to Korakuen Hall. Brookes said he thought he had kicked out at two but admitted today was a defeat. He said Higuchi won this time but he isn’t the champion yet. Brookes is the champ and he is confident he will still be the champ after Korakuen.

The match that was meant to celebrate Toru Owashi ended up celebrating Kazuki Hirata instead. Hisaya Imabayashi introduced him as Old Kazuki Hirata and he showed up dressed in his rookie gear acting like his beginner self. Owashi quickly beat him and Hirata exited to the back. Imabayashi then all of a sudden did another ring introduction, telling Owashi he now had to fight Hiratimo Dragon! Owashi was confused but again quickly won his match, sending “Dragon” to the back. Imabayashi did a third introduction, this time for Hirata Collection A.T.! Hirata did the full entrance and then retreated to the back when he got scared by Owashi glaring at him. Imabayashi did one more introduction and it was for the regular, modern Hirata. After losing all the other matches he finally scored a win on Owashi. He said he was happy to beat Owashi in their final singles match before Owashi retires. Owashi had to correct him because he isn’t retiring nor is he planning to anytime soon.

There was a special treat for fans at the end of the show. Super Sasadango Machine had produced a bonus PowerPoint Presentation! It was to promote his one match show with Toru Yano on Monday that is being put together by both DDT and New Japan. He described the match as a battle for pro wrestling’s reputation. He wrestled and lost to Yano last June and felt completely defeated not just physically but creatively as well. Sasadango talked about previous incidents between DDT and New Japan, particularly the HARASHIMA Vs Hiroshi Tanahashi match from 10 years ago. Tanahashi said after the match he hated the idea that wrestling promotions should be treated equally and it is ridiculous to think they are all evenly matched. His comments at the time resulted in the working relationship between DDT and NJPW quickly falling apart. Sasadango was so sad and angry at the time it made his blood boil. Sasadango, Ken Ohka & Danshoku Dieno eventually hatched a plan to organize their own show for Tanahashi to wrestle on in order to prove DDT was not worthless. The plan worked, the DDT team won the match and Tanahashi did his own PowerPoint Presentation at the end as his way of apologising to DDT.

This ended up causing frustration on the other side because Yano at the time did not like seeing NJPW lost to DDT in this situation. Also a young Konosuke Takeshita was not satisfied because the DDT team weren’t able to defeat Tanahashi directly (HARASHIMA pinned the wrestler we now know as YOH). Sasadango brought up how Takeshita was fueled by that grudge with Tanahashi for years and it was only recently that he was finally able to move on from it and make NJPW his third home promotion. It made Sasadango wonder in hindsight if his plan working out the way it did came at the expense of his juniors by taking away their chances of evening DDT’s score with New Japan. Now the working relationship has been repaired allowing Takeshita and MAO to win over new fans on NJPW shows. It makes Sasadango want to jump on board and show New Japan what he has to offer. He believes DDT’s video production is the best in the world and is part of a DDT package that NJPW cannot compete against. His match with Yano is not to show that they are equals. DDT is the underdog but Sasadango still thinks they are the best! He encourages DDT’s fans to give him their strength so they can fight New Japan together this Monday!

6. Spring Special In The Summer! Falls Count Anywhere 4 Way Match: Masashi Takeda defeated Konosuke Takeshita, Kazusada Higuchi and MAO when Takeda pinned MAO with the Reverse U-Crash from a Van onto a Chair (24:41).

Things got out of control in the main event. Before the 4 Way Match even started MAO got into a confrontation with Sanshiro Takagi at ringside. They were kept apart until part way through the match when Takagi got sick of MAO’s behaviour and gave him a Stunner at ringside. MAO was carried away but soon after the Shin-Kiba 1st RING shutter gates opened and MAO appeared with a van parked behind him. He got into the van, drove it into the venue and bumped it into Takagi! Masashi Takeda made the match more violent with chairs. He then stuck wooden skewers into Kazusada Higuchi’s head! Higuchi returned the favour by finding more skewers and sticking them on Takeda’s head. With the gates opened, the match moved outside where MAO took out fireworks and gave Higuchi an Anal Explosion. Higuchi recovered and threw MAO into a steel container Razor’s Edge style. Even Konosuke Takeshita got into the hardcore style by using chairs on his opponents and giving Higuchi a Vertical Drop Brainbuster onto a trash can. His most extreme moment came when he placed Higuchi on a table and climbed up a nearby scaffold. Takeshita dove off the scaffold and crushed Higuchi through the table! That would have been the end but Takeda stopped the count by throwing a chair at Takeshita’s head. MAO and Takeda fought their way onto the roof of the van. Takeda gave MAO a German Suplex onto the roof then to cap it all off, he dropped MAO onto a pile of chairs below with the Reverse U-Crash for the 3 count. Takeda returned to the ring and said the match was a fun warm up for a title defence he will have in FREEDOMS tomorrow. He also joked that he doesn’t know if DDT will bring him back because he accidentally broke one of the van mirrors during the match. In a backstage interview Takeshita suggested doing a sumo match against Higuchi sometime.

There was a lot of Right To Challenge Gauntlet movement on today’s show. Tetsuya Endo lost his Gauntlet to Akito in a 6-Man Tag Match. DAMNATION ambushed ALL OUT & Saki Akai at the start but Akito grabbed the win when he trapped Endo in a Samson Clutch. Endo might have an excuse for the defeat. He is confused by this new relationship between Daisuke Sasaki and Asuka. Sasaki got annoyed by Endo’s questions and reminded him what their motto is. Endo answered “We never confrom, kiss ass or get married.” No! Sasaki called Endo stupid and said their motto is now “Big Love!” Sasaki announced he and Asuka will team up again on next week’s episode of “DDT LIVE! MAJI MANJI”, this time without Endo. Then on 22nd July in Korakuen Hall, Sasaki and Asuka will confirm their Big Love together by having a singles match against each other.

HARASHIMA and Antonio Honda got along as a team and were able to beat Irie-gun. However Honda rejected HARASHIMA’s handshake after the match. Instead Honda pulled a bra out from his tights and held it up like it was a title belt. HARASHIMA lifted up his DDT Extreme Title belt in response.

In an attempt to provide as much of an authentic Lucha Libre experience for Ultimo Dragon’s return to DDT, the Timo Timo Timo Dragons requested their match against Shuten-dōji to be Best 2 out of 3 Falls with a 61 minute time limit. Ultimo Dragon himself stopped the unmasking antics from happening. When Hiratimo Dragon’s mask slipped off at the start of the match, Ultimo handed it to him and told him to put it back on. Yuki Iino then pinned Hiratimo with a Lariat to win the blue Right To Challenge Gauntlet. The Timo Dragons all unmasked and framed Yukio Sakaguchi for cheating but Ultimo stopped them again and gave everyone Middle Kicks as punishment. Ultimo then gave Hiratimo the Asai DDT and Sakaguchi pinned Hiratimo to win the 2nd and deciding fall. The result means Sakaguchi now gets Hiratimo’s remaining Gauntlet. After the match Ultimo Dragon ordered the other Dragons to unmask. They did so and revealed they were really Sanshiro Takagi, Toru Owashi and Kazuki Hirata all this time. Fortunately for them, Ultimo saw the funny side and felt honored that these wrestlers tried to imitate him, except for Owashi. Ultimo forgives them and will allow them to continue their gimmick on one condition. They must pay him a rights fee. They already used the gimmick for around 30 matches so they also have to pay him for those 30 matches! The Timo Timo Timo Dragons agreed to end the gimmick and all go back to normal.

Nobody was happier to appear on today’s show than Isami Kodaka. He came here to impress Mari Yaguchi by winning the 3 Way Match and even protected her during the crazier moments of the main event. He couldn’t stop thanking Sanshiro Takagi after his match for the booking. Yukinori Matsui reminded Kodaka not to bring his private life into his public life. He then had to drag Kodaka away from ringside to get the show back on track.

The opening match was held under World Cup rules which meant the much talked about VAR system came into play. Makoto Oishi pinned Kota Umeda with a Low Blow that Matsui missed. Keisuke Ishii’s protests led to Matsui getting the order to check on VAR to see what happened. The decision was made that Oishi fouled Umeda so the match was restarted. Oishi’s complaints led to him getting a yellow card for disruptive behaviour. The foul also meant that Umeda was given a free Penalty Kick to Oishi. VAR was used again when Danshoku Dieno gave Ishii a Low Blow before pinning him with the Gaydo Clutch. Matsui ruled that Dieno fouled Ishii so he too was booked. Umeda got the clean win over Oishi by making him submit to a Camel Clutch. Dieno demanded VAR to be used to reverse the decision. Matsui checked and ruled that there was no foul play so the result stands. Dieno complained but took it too far so Matsui gave him the red card and sent him off!

Ken Ohka’s ass kicking by Tenshin Nasukawa has been rescheduled for 24th July.

6. Shigehiro Irie & Sammy Guevara defeated HARASHIMA & Makoto Oishi when Guevara pinned Oishi with the 630 Splash (10:52).
7. Saki Akai 3rd Local Triumph! Kyoto Specialty 6-Man Tag Match: Yukio Sakaguchi, Masahiro Takanashi & Saki Akai defeated Kazusada Higuchi, Antonio Honda & Yoshiko when Sakaguchi pinned Honda with the Right Knee Of God (17:37).

Saki Akai was pitted against her rival Yoshiko for her return to Kyoto. When they weren’t paired together inside the ring, Yoshiko joined in with Antonio Honda’s schtick by doing the Bionic Elbow with him and putting Yukio Sakaguchi in a chokehold while he had Honda in a chokehold. Sakaguchi pinned Honda to win the match but he gave the end of show spotlight to Akai because according to him, she was the leading role today. Akai thanked everyone for coming and promised to give it her all for DDT and Kyoto.

HARASHIMA already knows that Shigehiro Irie is very strong. But today he discovered that Irie has become faster too since they last fought each other. HARASHIMA hopes he can be in full condition for Irie when the KO-D Openweight Title match is held on 22nd July.

A determined Nobuhiro Shimatani declared that today, the 30th June is the beginning of his rebellion! He then lost to Danshoku Dieno. Shimatani refused to shake Dieno’s hand after the match and tried to convince everyone again that his rebellion begins today.

Even though he was on the losing team today, MAO thinks he is on the right track towards the KO-D Tag Team Titles. All he is trying to do right now is put pressure on Tetsuya Endo. The new tag champion isn’t convinced. Endo said he and Mad Paulie won the titles from Daisuke Sekimoto & Kazusada Higuchi so what chance do MAO & Mike Bailey have?

Konosuke Takeshita is the latest victim of the Timo Timo Timo Dragons cheating, although he almost avoided it. He didn’t fall for Hiratimo Dragon’s attempt to frame him for unmasking him. However the mask accidentally slipped off when Takeshita tried to do a Brainbuster so he was DQ’ed for that. After the match Takeshita told the rest of ALL OUT that he is now concerned. If they can’t beat the Dragons then how can they beat the Sendai Girls? Suddenly Sanshiro Takagi came out. He said he was watching the match from backstage (wearing blue tights for some reason) and he wants to help ALL OUT prepare for their KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles defence. ALL OUT’s problem is they aren’t used to wrestling against joshi. Takagi’s solution is to give ALL OUT a tune up match against the returning T2HiJoshi! It was then brought up that every member of ALL OUT has a female cousin that could wrestle in the match. So on 22nd July we will see the debuts of Keiko Takeshita Jr., Akiko & Carousel❤Shun, the ALL OUT Joshi!

7. If You Wrestle, Do Something Like This! Matsuyama Specialty 6-Man Tag Match: HARASHIMA, Yukio Sakaguchi & Masahiro Takanashi defeated Daisuke Sasaki, Soma Takao & Mad Paulie when HARASHIMA pinned Paulie with the Somato (15:39).
*HARASHIMA wins Mad Paulie’s Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Gauntlet.

The tide is turning in the HARASHIMA Vs DAMNATION feud and it’s given HARASHIMA a big prize in the process. He pinned Mad Paulie in the main event to win his Right To Challenge Gauntlet. HARASHIMA took Soma Takao’s version of the Somato during the match and said it works unexpectedly well. He admits it is a move he has to watch out for in the DDT Extreme Title 3 Way Match.

Almost one year on from their match for KO-D Openweight Title, Konosuke Takeshita and Mike Bailey were brought together for another round. Like last time Takeshita came out of it the winner. Takeshita said backstage that both he and Bailey have upgraded their abilities since their last match. He praised Bailey for getting used to the Japanese style and using that to improve himself.

Makoto Oishi foiled Takatimo Dragon’s unmasking technique by simply throwing the mask into the audience before Yukinori Matsui saw him with it. Takatimo then left to search for his mask Oishi and Danshoku Dieno then formed a Hell Gate tower in the corner. Hiratimo Dragon had his head shoved inbetween both of their backsides and got stuck. His mask slipped off when he was pulled out. Takatimo returned with his mask, handed it to Saki Akai and tricked Matsui into disqualifying her. After the match Takatimo asked the crowd if they wanted to see Hiratimo cash in one of his Right To Challenge Gauntlets. Hiratimo refused to do it. He said he would not be able to win after getting his head stuck between two smelly asses.

Former DDT trainee turned amateur MMA fighter Ryutaro Watanabe had his debut pro wrestling match against Tetsuya Endo. Although he didn’t win, Watanabe was pleased to finally go through with his debut. He remembers Endo from their training days. They got along back then but he thinks Endo is a different person now. Still, having Endo as your first opponent is a good starting point. Watanabe will stay where he is now but it open to wrestling more whenever shows will be held in his region.

ALL OUT’s momentum against the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Champions was halted when Yuki Ueno pinned Shunma Katsumata in their final preview match. Akito pointed out to Katsumata that they can’t treat Ueno like a junior like they used to in DNA. Their opponents are champions and should be treated as such. Ueno thinks that Katsumata hasn’t gained much from his Gold’s Gym workouts.

Sanshiro Takagi said that next year is the 5th year DDT will be promoting shows in Matsuyama. He promises there will be a big match on next year’s show to celebrate the milestone. The hope is to find a venue with a capacity of around 1,000 people for the show.

The “Day & Night” part of the show’s name referred to a doubleshot DDT was doing with Big Japan today. This DDT show was held in the afternoon and Big Japan held their show in the evening. There was little interaction between the two companies though. The only Big Japan presence here was Ryuichi Kawakami promoting their show during intermission.

5. Local Hiroshima Born Danshoku Dieno Wants To Make A Triumphant Return As A Producer 3 Way Match: Danshoku Dieno defeated Konosuke Takeshita and Rey Paloma when Dieno pinned Takeshita with the Rope Assisted Gay-do Clutch (10:23).
6. Daisuke Sasaki, Tetsuya Endo & Mad Paulie defeated HARASHIMA, Yukio Sakaguchi & Masahiro Takanashi when Endo pinned Takanashi with the Shooting Star Press (13:03).
7. Hiroshima Specialty! Special Tag Match Without Humanity: Kazusada Higuchi & Antonio Honda defeated Shigehiro Irie & Mizuki Watase when Higuchi pinned Watase with the Doctor Bomb (13:21).

When the main event was over, Antonio Honda interviewed Kazusada Higuchi in the ring. He asked Higuchi how he feels after every win against Irie-gun. Higuchi says he always gives his full effort and wants to continue this momentum all the way to Korakuen Hall. Higuchi also thanked the fans in attendance today for cheering him on. Honda then asked Higuchi what was it like to team with Antonio Honda today? Higuchi says Honda is a wonderful person but he isn’t interested in him talking about “Gon, The Little Fox” all the time. Higuchi ended the interview by saying he will beat Shigehiro Irie for the KO-D Openweight Title at Korakuen.

DAMNATION taped HARASHIMA by his hands to the ring post so they could get a numbers advantage. The plan worked and DAMNATION got the win. They continued to attack HARASHIMA after the match and choked him with a collar.

Hiroshima natives Danshoku Dieno and Rey Paloma wanted to face Osaka’s Konosuke Takeshita in a comedy 3 Way Match. Shenanigans included each wrestler crotching themselves on the ropes and having their shorts pulled down. Takeshita was about to give Paloma the German Suplex when Dieno stopped him with a Lip Lock and trapped him in the Gay-do Clutch. Dieno held onto the ropes for leverage to get the three count. Even though Paloma didn’t win, he declared the match a victory for Hiroshima. Takeshita joined in the fun by putting on Paloma’s entrance gear then he danced with him.

As soon as Kenshin Chikano won the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title, his entire team began to squabble over the belt. The title moved to Takeshi Okada while Naomi Yoshimura failed over and over to become the champion. When Okada though he had escaped with the belt, Makoto Oishi snuck up with a Low Blow and a School Boy to steal the title from him.

Some of the DDT wrestlers are beginning to wise up to Hiratimo Dragon’s match plan. Yuki Ueno didn’t fall for his unmasking tactic. However Saki Akai did and it cost them the match. Progress is being made but it’s not a lot.

Shunma Katsumata said Kota Umeda is strong but they are not 1:1 equal.

6. Shigehiro Irie & Mizuki Watase defeated Kazusada Higuchi & Kouki Iwasaki when Irie submitted Iwasaki with the Tazzmission (7:04).
7. Kota Umeda “Mad Dog” 7 Match Series – 3rd Match: Masato Tanaka defeated Kota Umeda with the Sliding D (14:20).
-. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title: Nobuhiro Shimatani defeated Makoto Oishi (c) with a School Boy (8:50 pm).
*Nobuhiro Shimatani becomes the 1,317th champion.

Kota Umeda put up a good fight against Masato Tanaka but it wasn’t enough and he is now 0-3 in his trial series. Tanaka referred to Umeda as “Mad Dog” after the match and told him he loves how bullish he was in the ring. Umeda was then told by Hisaya Imabayashi that his next opponents in the trial is Dick Togo! Umeda Vs Togo will be held on 10th July.

That wasn’t all. Makoto Oishi entered the ring with his newly won Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title to speak with Umeda. He said Umeda just had a great match that almost made him cry with joy. But that doesn’t matter. Oishi is the Iron Man Champion and he declared the championship is the number one prize in “DDT LIVE! MAJI MANJI”. Oishi was in the middle of challenging Umeda to a title match when Nobuhiro Shimatani ran into the ring and pinned him with a School Boy to win the title. Oishi tried to regain his senses and again demanded a match with Umeda until he realised Umeda left him alone in the ring.

Shigehiro Irie wasn’t satisfied by the amount of ring time he had with Kazusada Higuchi this week. The finish had Kouki Iwasaki laid out on a table in the ring. Mizuki Watase gave Higuchi a top rope Diamond Cutter onto Iwasaki to crash him through the table. Irie then made Iwasaki tap out with the Tazzmission. However earlier in the match Higuchi was able to defend himself against Irie’s Traffic Accident tackle. He warned Irie that he will make a big mistake if he thinks power is all that is needed to win their match.

An extra rule was added to Danshoku Dieno & Ken Ohka Vs Mike Bailey & Tanomusaku Toba. If a wrestler cried during the match his team would lose. Both Dieno & Ohka got kicked in the ass a lot and Ohka finally broke after repeated double kicks to the ass from Bailey & Toba. Dieno told Ohka he can’t be crying when he fights Tenshin Nasukawa in two weeks time. They will do a special training exercise on 20th June at the Dropkick Bar. They are going to watch “Grave of the Fireflies” and Ohka will have to not cry during it. Dieno also invited fans to bring in other sad movies for Ohka to watch. Ohka promises he will never cry again for the rest of his life, even if his family dies!

Konosuke Takeshita thinks Yuki Ueno & Koji Takeda are fresh opponents for him. He also reminded everyone that he is the same age as Ueno and Kota Umeda. He doesn’t want to lose against this fresh trio of wrestlers. Shunma Katsumata thinks ALL OUT will win the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles because their their hearts are fresh. Takeshita disagrees and thinks his own heart is a bit gritty.

DAMNATION continues to get the upper hand over HARASHIMA in their feud. Daisuke Sasaki & Soma Takao ambushed HARASHIMA during his entrance. Takao then rubbed salt into the wounds even further by doing the Somato on Masahiro Takanashi to win the match! However Takao claims it is an original move called the Soma-to, named after himself. It is different to HARASHIMA’s Somato because the knees are positioned at a different angle. Tetsuya Endo later said he is keeping his Right To Challenge Gauntlet as a back up until Mad Paulie figures out how to use his own Gauntlet.

All of the RTC Gauntlet holders in the Battle Royal were able to breath a sigh of relief when they found out the Gauntlets could not be transferred by ring out eliminations. Hiratimo Dragon eliminated most of the field by tricking the ref into thinking five of them all unmasked him. Makoto Oishi was able to eliminated Hiratimo and eventually win the match to become the Iron Man Champion. Hiratimo promised that next week he and Takatimo Dragon will go on a rampage! A concerned Sanshiro Takagi said on commentary that he won’t be here next week to see what happens.

Gota Ihashi wasn’t able to beat Yukio Sakaguchi but Sakaguchi was able to see how hard he is working towards a chance at redemption with Riki Choshu. Sakaguchi promised Ihashi he will pass on some good words to Choshu. Ihashi is hoping to get booked on Choshu’s next show on 10th July.

7. Utsunomiya Specialty! Romantic Tag Match: Shigehiro Irie & Mizuki Watase defeated Kazusada Higuchi & Makoto Oishi when Irie pinned Oishi with the Beast Bomber (12:55).

Shigehiro Irie told Kazusada Higuchi that today’s main event was won by the kind of pro wrestling that Irie believes in. He will shows Higuchi more of it at their KO-D Openweight Title match later this month.

Konosuke Takeshita used the Surprise Rose to win today’s match because the new season of The Bachelor Japan begun recently. He doesn’t appear in the show but maybe he can get a spot for the next season. Until then the Surprise Rose is what bachelor Takeshita will give to other wrestlers in the ring.

HARASHIMA was again struck below the belt in a match against DAMNATION. This time when Soma Takao caught one of his kicks it was Daisuke Sasaki who snuck behind HARASHIMA and gave him the low blow. However the DDT Elder Brothers got the win afterwards when KUDO pinned Nobuhiro Shimatani.

Before the 3 Way Match began Daiki Shimomura told his opponents he will go to the top of DDT by beating them. Danshoku Dieno told him that they aren’t at the top right now so that can’t be accurate.

Hiratimo Dragon now has two Right To Challenge Gauntlets in his possession. When Yukinori Matsui was taken out during the match, Hiratimo unmasked and gave it to Mike Bailey, telling him it was a gift. Bailey happily accepted the mask and put it on. Matsui came back, Hiratimo acted like Bailey unmasked him and Bailey was disqualified.

6. Tsukaba Specialty! Gama Oil Sales Special 6-Man Tag Match: Soma Takao, Tetsuya Endo & Mad Paulie defeated HARASHIMA, Yukio Sakaguchi & Masahiro Takanashi when Endo pinned Takanashi with the Shooting Star Press (18:24).

Tetsuya Endo had Masahiro Takanashi pinned when Takanashi countered the hold into a Sunset Flip. Unfortunately for Takanashi he did this right when HARASHIMA charged in to do the Somato to Endo. That meant Takanashi accidentally took the move instead. Soma Takao kicked HARASHIMA below the belt while the referee was focused on Endo hitting the Shooting Star Press on Takanashi, giving DAMNATION the win.

Kazusada Higuchi had messages involving both of his upcoming championship programs. He told ALL OUT that they won’t be able to win the KO-D Tag Team Titles from himself and Daisuke Sekimoto with the performance they gave today. He then told Shigehiro Irie to promise they will have a fierce battle for the KO-D Openweight Title at Korakuen Hall later this month.

Makoto Oishi has shaved off all his hair so he no longer has the reverse mohawk. He told everyone that he and his new fiancee both have a dream to become world champions by the time they get married. Oishi’s goal today was to beat MAO directly so he could get his Right To Challenge Gauntlet. That didn’t happen but Danshoku Dieno promised to help Oishi achieve his goal to become a champion somehow.

The first Right To Challenge Gauntlet transfer did take place today when Hiratimo Dragon took the one from Antonio Honda thanks to his usual unmasking antics. Takatimo Dragon asked Hiratimo when he would cash it in but Hiratimo stayed quiet. He then knocked Takatimo out with a chop to the neck when Takatimo began speculating.

*Makoto Oishi becomes the 1,314th champion.

For almost 30 minutes both Konosuke Takeshita and Antonio Honda fought their hearts out in front of the Osaka crowd. The main event was a Happy Motels reunion with Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi and Yasu Urano accompanying Honda to the ring while Takeshita came out to the Happy Motels entrance theme. Honda acted sentimental when he did his “Gon, The Little Fox” spot, telling Takeshita and the others that if this becomes his last match he does not want it to end. Honda then poked Takeshita in the eyes and hit a Topé Suicida after Takeshita rolled out of the ring to recover. Honda threw many punches and Bionic Elbows to combat against Takeshita’s Lariats. When Takeshita countered a Sleeper Hold into a Blue Thunder Bomb 25 minutes in the match it was clear that both were tired. They narrowly avoided a double countout and continued hitting their big moves until the match devolved into duelling Bionic Elbows. The ended in another double knockdown with Yukinori Matsui beginning to count both of them out again. Takeshita made it to his feet in time but Honda couldn’t. That was enough for Matsui to end the match and declare Takeshita the winner by KO. After the match Takeshita talked about going to see his brother’s high school soccer game earlier in the day. It made him think about his own high school days and he realised he spent all of his time outside of school with wrestlers like Honda, Urano and Hiroshi. That time of his life was a happy won because he was wrestling in Happy Motels. There was only one thing about it he didn’t like and that was never getting the chance to wrestle a meaningful match with Honda. He got that today. Honda thanked Takeshita for the match and said he was glad to wrestle him for 30 minutes today.

Shigehiro Irie Vs Magnitude Kishiwada immediately started with a ringside brawl. Kishiwada attacked Irie with a chair, targeting Irie’s arms whenever he could. Kishiwada continued the heavy attacks by doing the Last Ride and the Diving Body Press plus more chairshots. Irie fought back with a Death Valley Bomb as well as Beast Bombers to counter Kishiwada’s Lariats. The Beast Bombers as well as the Cannonball Drop wore down Kishiwada until one more Beast Bomber kept him down for the three count. After the match Irie said he wanted to become a pro wrestler after watching figures like Kishiwada and Kengo Takai compete all over Osaka. Irie not only achieved his dream but he is also now the KO-D Openweight Champion. However, Irie is still not satisfied. There are still many things he must learn to become stronger and stronger. Irie asked Kishiwada to plese fight him again some day. Kishiwada told him they had a good match today and he shook his hand. He then told Irie to defend the KO-D Title many times so he can become Osaka’s strongest wrestler!

Kikutaro, Kuishinbo Kamen and Super Sasadango Machine all found ways to get Matsui involved in their match. Sasadango had Kamen pinned after a Diving Knee Drop but Kikutaro grabbed Sasadango’s leg and applied a Crab Hold to make him submit.

Naomi Yoshimura said he experienced a similar feeling from wrestling Dick Togo to the one he got when he wrestled Akebono.

The usual unmasking tricks by Hiratimo Dragon made Yuni cry when he was disqualified for it. Makoto Oishi tried to cheer him up but it was a trap! Yuni caught him in a Small Package and pinned him to win the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title. Later at the end of the show Saki Akai encouraged Yuni to join her in the ring to say goodbye to the fans. That too was a trap for Akai to win the belt from Yuni. Oishi came back out, pinned Akai to take back the title and ran off. The show then closed with Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi singing to the audience.

Turns out Akito’s recovery time was a short one. He was back in action competing in the opener and even got the winning pinfall. He made fun of Shunma Katsumata for only signing up for the standard membership at Gold’s Gym instead of the Master membership. While Katsumata is preparing to go after the KO-D Tag Team Titles, Akito personally wants to challenge for the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles.

Matsui wanted to give out the opening announcements but Hisaya Imabayashi wouldn’t let him. Yuki Iino was ordered to hold Matsui back in the corner while Imabayashi finished the segment.
