The big move Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi kept trying to use in the Union MAX Title bout was the Perfect Plex. It took him several attempts to pull it off against Ryota Nakatsu but when it finally hit it wasn’t enough to pin the champion. Nakatsu brought in a counter attack that took Hiroshi’s energy away. But rather than finish him immediately, Nakatsu gave Hiroshi one last chance to fight back. Hiroshi hit him with a Knuckle Punch but had nothing left to give so Nakatsu gave him the V Slider and pinned him for three. Nakatsu praised Hiroshi for his passion and leaving his feelings all out in the ring. When he started to talk about his next title defence, Ken Ohka entered the ring chanting the number “4642” over and over. Ohka told Nakatsu that number is how many days its been since he left Union Pro Wrestling back on 13th February, 2013! Not a day has gone by without Ohka remembering Union Pro and the only thing left around that represents it is the Union MAX Title. As a Union original that belt has Ohka’s name on it which means he deserves to have it! Nakatsu accepted his challenge for 18th November.

The Iron Fist Tag Team Titles remain with MJ2 after Kengo Mashimo & Ayumu Honda defeated Aijin Tag. Mashimo and Masato Kamino took each other out so the finish came down to Honda against Takato Nakano. Honda countered a roll up into an Arm Bar and increased the pressure by clutching onto Nakano’s leg. Nakano wouldn’t give up but the referee had to stop the match in MJ2’s favour. After the match Kyu Mogami spoke on behalf of his stablemates and said the next Iron Fist Tag Titles defence will happen at a 2AW show in Yokohama Radiant Hall on 15th November. Daiki Shimomura & Lil’ Kraken ended up confronting MJ2 backstage later to challenge them at that show.

Gouma Ryu will be taking a break from wrestling for a few months to focus on other priorities in his career. Today was his last match in BASARA for the time being until he returns.

Nobita is the nickname of Takahiro Nakayama, a GanPro staff member who was a pro wrestler for a very brief amount of time back in 2014. The FREEDOMS wrestlers had been bullying him around whenever they showed up at GanPro shows, unaware of his background. If Takashi Sasaki & Toru Sugiura are not careful he might decide to start fighting back!

The next wrestler from America has been chosen to go on tour with Tokyo Joshi Pro this November. J-Rod has around three years of experience since graduating from the NJPW Academy in America with Ohio Valley Wrestling being her current most regular promotion. The “Ultimate Athlete” will debut in TJPW on the 1st November show but the big match of her tour will be fighting either Miu Watanabe or Yuki Aino for the Princess Of Princess Title at November’s Korakuen show.

I don’t mind this trend of tag teams getting themselves in line for a future Princess Tag Team Titles shot while the champions still have other challengers to get through. HIMAWARI & Shino Suzuki have teamed on and off together this year but both are feeling left behind by other wrestlers from their class. The two are taking their team to the next level by challenging the winners of Ober Eats Vs Hot Shot for the titles.

The last Super Japan show of the year is being advertised as the season finale of year one. Sanshiro Takagi is so happy with how Yuji Nagata has turned out as his chosen ace that he wants to wrestle Nagata himself. He also wants to team with Munenori Sawa again and expected Nagata to get more plenty of people offering to team with him so Jun Kasai was brought in to even up the numbers. Nagata has both Kuroshio TOKYO Japan & Fuminori Abe wanting to join his side so the two teams are now set.

Super Japan serves as an alternate take of what DDT could have turned into if Takagi chose that name instead of Dramatic Dream Team back in 1997. In DDT, MIKAMI & Takashi Sasaki were more like rivals than partners despite once holding the KO-D Tag Titles together back in 2002. So Takagi wants to see what it would be like if the two of them were a tag team from the beginning instead of opponents. MIKAMI & Sasaki are both curious to find out for themselves as well.

2. IRON FIST Tag Tournament – A Block Final: Takato Nakano & Masato Kamino defeated Ryota Nakatsu & Daichi Kazato when Kamino pinned Kazato with the Lariat (11:01).

This year’s IRON FIST Tag Tournament winners are Aijin Tag! They got past Shitamachi Rocket in the semi final, mostly because Daichi Kazato’s constant backfiring moves was too much for even Ryota Nakatsu to make up for. Their opponents in the final were the two delinquints from MJ2. They got past Hyakusho Ikki by tricking Ryuichi Sekine & FUMA into using weapons in front of the ref so they would get disqualified. Takato Nakano & Masato Kamino were able to defeat Kyu Mogami & Naka Shuma to win the final but they told the fans afterwards that is only half of MJ2 they have beaten. The other half Kengo Mashimo & Ayumu Honda also happen to be the Iron Fist Tag Team Champions so Aijin Tag want to face them next with the belts on the line! Honda was in the corner for Mogami & Shuma during the show. He didn’t say anything but did shake hands with Nakano & Kamino to accept their challenge. The title match will happen on 31st October.

While most of BASARA are preparing for the IRON FIST Tag Tournament starting next month, there was the matter of the Iron Fist Tag Team Titles to deal with today. The outsider team of Kengo Mashimo & Ayumu Honda successfully defended the belts against the Super Family when SAGAT couldn’t free himself from Mashimo’s submission finisher. After the match Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi interpreted for Honda and called it an easy win. He also according to Hiroshi called everybody in BASARA wimps because there are no other immediate challengers for MJ2 to fight.

Gouma Ryu was feeling motivated to fight as if he was the main character today so he ordered the rest of WizRYU away so he could fight Takato Nakano on his own. He then bribed the ref with 10,000 yen to get calls and pin counts in his favour. At one point Nakano sent Ryu to sleep with a Sleeper Hold so the referee forced him to let it go. However despite the favortism, Nakano was able to beat Ryu clean.

Super Japan Continues, Is Hiroshi Too Scary for Nakatsu?

August 21, 2025

Heads up but I will be travelling over the next few days to see some wrestling in London, which includes “FORBIDDEN DOOR”. However it is kind of a light weekend of shows within the DDT circle so there should not be any delay in getting results and writing a report for the Tokyo Princess Cup semi finals on Saturday. I might be able to at post results of tomorrow’s Baka Gaijin + Friends show in the Philippines too. If not then that will be saved for the next DDT Around The World article at the end of the month.

BASARA has a path set towards Halloween for their next big Union MAX Title match. Ryota Nakatsu says he isn’t scared of defending the title against anybody but Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi thinks the champion has been ducking him. Hiroshi has recently formed a quartet with Speed Of Sounds and Gouma Ryu called WizRYU but Ryu isn’t a guy you can rely on for an Elimination Match so Masato Kamino is taking part instead. Nakatsu is relying on Hyakusho Ikki and Takumi Tsukamoto to back him up in the meantime.

So there wasn’t actually plans for Super Japan to last past the first show but Sanshiro Takagi was happy enough with how the launch did to run another event under the name. Yuji Nagata is still his pick to be the ace and he’ll get a far more serious match this time because his opponent is Shinya Aoki! There is a little bit of history here because Aoki defeated Yuji’s brother Katsuhiko Nagata in the DREAM Middleweight Grand Prix back in 2008.

Takagi himself is confident he can make a full return to the ring by the end of the year. However he isn’t sure if he can make it back in time for November’s Sumo Hall show. He also is only currently cleared by his doctor to do light exercises. With that being said, Takagi wants to shake off some ring rust so he will take part in an Exhibition Match with his old tag team partner Munenori Sawa. The bout is only scheduled to have a five minute time limit but Sawa has told Takagi he wants the two of them to go as wild as they can and cause some trouble!

MIKAMI and DJ Nira will be on the show.

Nakatsu has successfully defended the MAX Title against Hiroshi one time before back in February 2022. That was Hiroshi’s second time challenging for the belt. The other time was when it was revived to be used as BASARA’s top championship all the way back on Christmas Day of 2016.

1. Takumi Tsukamoto defeated Takeru Inoue with the Brainbuster Slam (10:14).
2. Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi, Tsutomu Oosugi & Banana Senga (w/ Gouma Ryu) defeated Takato Nakano, Masato Kamino & Lil’ Kraken when Hiroshi pinned Kraken with the Perfect Plex (12:04).
3. SAGAT Vs Ayumu Honda ended in a Double Countout (15:03).
4. FUMA & Ryuichi Sekine defeated Fuminori Abe & Daiki Shimomura when Sekine submitted Shimomura with the Let’s Combine (10:02).
5. Union MAX Title: Ryota Nakatsu (c) defeated Daichi Kazato with a Forward Rolling Cradle (16:53).
*V3 for Ryota Nakatsu.

Out of all the times Ryota Nakatsu had a championship match, this one was probably the most unusual. Daichi Kazato brought along several long rubber straps to either use as weapons against Nakatsu or as something to slingshot himself at Nakatsu. The straps limited the Union MAX Champion from using a lot of his regular moveset but when they were eventually taken out of the picture, he countered a roll up from Kazato into one of his own to win the match. Nakatsu asked the fans after the match if they noticed he couldn’t do any Zero Fighter Kicks, German Suplexes or V Sliders because of Kazato’s plan. They still had an exciting match though and he called Kazato the craziest guy.

With today’s victory Nakatsu said he now has nothing to fear when it comes to defending the MAX Title. Suddenly Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi’s music played and Hiroshi was carried down to the ring by his fellow WizRYU members Gouma Ryu and Speed Of Sounds. He said he knows Nakatsu all too well and asked if he was scared of him? He knows the last person Nakatsu wants to be challenged by is “Mr. Perfect” Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi! The champ admits Hiroshi can be scary but he isn’t afraid of him so he accepts the challenge. Hiroshi then tried to attack him but Kazato suddenly came to Nakatsu’s rescue! Nakatsu appreciated it so much that he decided he and Kazato should team up together. Backstage Hiroshi announced his MAX Title challenge will happen on 31st October.

Isami Kodaka missed the show due to illness. He was replaced by Fuminori Abe in Match #4.

Match #3 ended in a Double Countout after SAGAT lost his temper and threw Ayumu Honda into the audience. He then purposely prevented Honda from making it back to the ring. As soon as the match ended, SAGAT demanded an Iron Fist Tag Team Titles shot with Minoru Fujita as his partner because the Super Family are fed up with Honda and Kengo Mashimo. Hiroshi on Honda’s behalf accepted the challenge and said the match will happen on 17th September. He thinks Mashimo will be available on that date.

It has been just under one year since BASARA last held a show at Korakuen Hall. Now under new management, today’s show is the next chapter for the company. Even though they did not announce an attendance number, the word going around from them and wrestling reporters is this was the biggest crowd they have ever had! The new president Ryota Nakatsu credited everyone involved with the show from those signed with the company to those who wrestle freelance for all of the hard work they did to promote it. The next goal Nakatsu has in mind is to sell enough tickets to open up the north side of Korakuen and then fill that up too. He also promised to openly talk about the positives and negatives happening in BASARA because there is no point in a company like this trying to look cool.

In the main event Nakatsu defeated the new sales manager Takumi Tsukamoto in his first defence of the Union MAX Title. Nakatsu said it felt amazing for both of them to be BASARA’s main focus today. Tsukamoto agreed and is a litle worried he may have lost his mind during the match because it felt so good. Nakatsu then promoted the next show on 20th August until he was interrupted by Daichi Kazato and Ayato Yoshida. Kazato climbed the turnbuckle and held onto a large rubber strap. Yoshida then pulled the strap back and snapped it back into Kazato’s face. Nakatsu was confused until Kazato explained that is his way of challenging him for the MAX Title.

Ryuichi Sekine & FUMA named themselves Hyakusho Ikki because they wanted to defend the Iron Fist Tag Team Titles a hundred times. They couldn’t even make it to three. Instead Kengo Mashimo & Ayumu Honda are the new champions after Honda made FUMA submit to the Jumping Armbar. FUMA later told Sekine that they were sent back down to rock bottom but that just means it’s time to start preparing for the next harvest. The challengers brought along Naka Shuma and Kyu Mogami to be their cornermen because all four of them are part of a unit in 2AW called MJ2. But when Mashimo & Honda won the titles Honda (through Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi) told Shuma & Mogami that they weren’t needed anymore! Backstage Shuma & Mogami said it’s boring to just be cornermen so they decided maybe they will come liven up BASARA too!

The first appearance of El Desperado in BASARA had a little extra backstory to it involving one of his opponents. Masato Kamino took the New Japan entrance exam back in October 2012 where he gave up on the test halfway through. But he remembers the sight of Kyosuke Mikami watching him in the crowd that day. They were opponents today with Desperado teaming up with Isami Kodaka while Kamino was part of the Aijin Tag with Takato Nakano. Desperado ended up winning when he gave Nakano the Reverse Tiger Driver followed by the Pinche Loco. Desperado praised his opponents and would like for more fans to discover them. He thinks Aijin Tag would even win over NJPW fans if they were to ever wrestle over there. Kodaka said he would love to team with Desperado again because it would be a shame for them to stop after just one match. Nakano said it was a dream come true to fight a New Japan champion because his mother loves NJPW. His next dream is to beat El Desperado! Kamino called this match a milestone in his life and he will be starting again from here. Aijin Tag are now thinking about entering a Jr. Tag tournament to make a new impact.

The Iron Fist Tag Team Champions have made new enemies. Hyakusho Ikki thought Ayumu Honda wanted to join them but what he really wants is to take the tag titles from them! 1. Daiki Shimomura defeated Takeru Inoue with the Swanton Bomb (8:59).
2. Tsutomu Oosugi & Banana Senga defeated Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi & Gouma Ryu when Oosugi pinned Ryu after a Double Brainbuster (7:52).
3. SAGAT & Minoru Fujita defeated Daichi Kazato & Munetatsu Nakamura when SAGAT pinned Kazato with the Gore Grind (10:56).
4. Masato Kamino, Lil’ Kraken & Fuminori Abe defeated Ryuichi Sekine, FUMA & Ayumu Honda when Kraken pinned Sekine with the Period. (13:41).
5. Isami Kodaka & Ryota Nakatsu defeated Takumi Tsukamoto & Takato Nakano when Nakatsu pinned Nakano with the V Slider (14:13).

During the main event Takumi Tsukamoto taunted Ryota Nakatsu in a bid to provoke the Union MAX Champion. But his attempt to hive him the Zudon was stopped by Isami Kodaka and Nakatsu went on to beat Takato Nakano with the V Slider. After the match Nakatsu told Takeru Inoue to hand him over an envelope because inside it was the name of his next MAX Title challenger. He then crumpled up the envelope and decided Tsukamoto will face him for the title at Korakuen Hall on 3rd August! The two of them are now the highest ranked management in BASARA so Nakatsu thinks the promotion’s biggest match of the year should be between those two. Tsukamoto said he will do his best to win the title and write BASARA’s next page.

It turns out Ayumu Honda really didn’t want to join forces with Hyakusho Ikki. He betrayed Ryuichi Sekine & FUMA and helped Lil’ Kraken with the match for the other team. Honda whispered into Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi’s ear after the match and had him interpret his message. Hiroshi told Hyakusho Ikki that Honda would never join a lame team like them. He only went near them because he wants the Iron Fist Tag Team Titles. He already has a partner ready and he’s at the show today. Suddenly out walked Kengo Mashimo and he started fighting Hyakusho Ikki with Honda that made its way to the back! Later when things calmed down FUMA said Honda had made fun of farmers. Sekine warns that when you make fun of farmers you will see hell! They’re going to fight Honda & Mashimo fair and square with the Iron Fist Tag Titles on the line.

After Match #3 several wrestlers all got in the ring trying to figure out what match they should have on 3rd August. Daichi Kazato completely lost track of who he wanted to team with so Gouma Ryu suggested they do a 3 Way Trios Match. Ryu himself isn’t going to wrestle. Instead he wants to be in the corner of Speed Of Sounds & Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi. Kazato decided he will team with Yasu Urano and a third person. Both Minoru Fujita & SAGAT agreed to team with each other and go find another partner. Later in the day Hiroshi, Ryu & SOS all decided to form a new unit called with-kai.

3. Thanomsak Toba & Tyson “Ultimate” Maeguchi defeated Daiki Shimomura & Takato Nakano when Toba pinned Nakano with the Back Blow (11:16).
4. Ryota Nakatsu defeated Takeru Inoue with a Wrist Lock (12:32).
5. Iron Fist Tag Team Titles: Ryuichi Sekine & FUMA (c) defeated Lil’ Kraken & Akira Jo when FUMA submitted Kraken with an Armbar (14:39).

The new bond between the Super Family is not as strong as the farmer’s bond that Hyakusho Ikki have. Lil’ Kraken missed a Frog Splash, giving FUMA the opening to submit him with an Armbar. He called Kraken & Akira Jo tough opponents after the match but he and Ryuichi Sekine are hard workers from the countryside. They spent the morning preparing for this Iron Fist Tag Team Titles by feeding chickens and cleaning out their coops before travelling to the venue. FUMA doesn’t understand why young people today think working hard is uncool but he and Sekine are going to cherish today’s successful title defence. They now have two wins with 98 to go until they reach their goal of 100 title defences.

Takeru Inoue lost to Ryota Nakatsu in his return match from injury. He shook Nakatsu’s hand afterwards and Nakatsu twisted Inoue’s healed arm as a joke. He said he only did it to show Inoue survived having his injured limb targeted. Inoue said the pain he felt in the match was something he hadn’t felt in a long time but he is happy to wrestle again. Nakatsu is still decided who the next Union MAX Title challenger should be. He said he got a few challenges from other promotions after he won the Chouten ~Itadaki~ but his time is now being taken up by his new role as BASARA’s president.

Match #2 ended in a draw when both teams all got tangled up with each other from a back and forth Double Brainbuster spot. Isami Kodaka, Shiori Asahi, Yasu Urano and Hagane Shinno all ended up rolling their shoulders onto the canvas and they were all pinned for the three count.

Takato Nakano & Masato Kamino opened up the show with an announcement for BASARA’s return to Korakuen Hall on 3rd August. Aijin Tag will team up to face Isami Kodaka & El Desperado! Kamino is aware that Desperado and Nakano already know each other but does Desperado know who he is? He sent out a warning that despite his muscular look, he is still a junior heavyweight so he is going to overwhelm the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion with his muscles!
