*DAMNATION becomes the 26th KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Champions!

After over two months of inactivity we now have new KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Champions! The finals of the tournament took place in Saitama and in the end DAMNATION tore through NωA and Shuten-dōji to claim the belts. Daisuke Sasaki said DAMNATION will continue to overwhelm DDT when Shuji Ishikawa wins the KO-D Openweight Title at Sumo Hall.

The 4 Way Match presented a unique preview of the “PETER PAN 2016” main event. Ishikawa will definitely be facing the KO-D Champion but the champion could be Toru Owashi instead of Konosuke Takeshita. Kazusada Higuchi was also there as a potential wild card. Takeshita looked to have the match won when he weakened Owashi with a Lariat and Blue Thunder Bomb but Owashi caught him by surprise with an Inside Cradle and pinned the champion out of nowhere. Owashi told Takeshita that two days from now the fun will be over when they fight for the KO-D Title.

With Antonio Honda translating for him, Mike Bailey told the audience he isn’t satisfied with his tour yet because he has a lot more to do in Japan. Today’s DDT debut is only the beginning of Mike Bailey. He is anxious to team with Dick Togo at Sumo Hall because to him, Togo is the most successful wrestler in the world.

This months Infomercial Match was sponsored by the book store Shosen. The match would consist of five rounds between the two teams with different rules to represent the different shop floors found in Shosen stores. Round 1 was one count pinfalls. Danshoku Dino immediately pinned Kazuki Hirata. Round 2 was two count pinfalls. Saki Akai tied the score when she pinned Super Sasadango Machine. From there Akai’s team won the remaining rounds. Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi submitted Gota Ihashi in Round 3 where submissions were needed to win. Akai kicked Ihashi out of the ring in Round 4 with Over The Top Rope rules. Finally Round 5 was just a normal match and Akai pinned Dino to end the series 4-1 in favour of her team.

KENSO had to fight Sanshiro Takagi in a 5 minute Iron Man Match to earn a spot on the “PETER PAN 2016” card. The match ended 1-1 but regardless of the outcome KENSO’s fate was left in the hands of three judges: DDT staff member Hisaya Imabayashi, Shukan Puroresu’s DDT correspondent Asata Kato and legendary wrestler Mitsuo Momota. The judges’ scorecards were 30-27, 28-30 and 30-2 resulting in a 2-1 victory for Takagi. KENSO complained about the 30-2 score from Momota. Momota straight up told KENSO he doesn’t want to see him wrestle in Sumo Hall! KENSO said he loves the DDT fans and wanted nothing more than to be at “PETER PAN 2016”. Takagi had a change of heart and told KENSO he can wrestle at Sumo Hall. He then told him about the upcoming DDT Dramatic General Election. It is mentally exhausting to campaign for votes but it will prove once and for all what the DDT fans think of KENSO. KENSO said he has experience with elections because he helped his wife Hiroko Suzuki campaign for her seat in the Funabashi City Council. He agreed to enter and is determined to finish first.

Chikara appeared at the start of the show to announce his participation for “PETER PAN 2016”. He is honoured to wrestle in the same building his father Mitsuo Momota wrestled in many times throughout his career. It was decided that while he was here in Kasukabe Hall he will wrestle in an impromptu match. Yumehito Imanari came out complaining that DDT yet again forgot to organise a King Of Dark Title match in advance. Chikara offered his Power Of Dreams friend to be his opponent. Amon Tsurumi excitedly agreed with the idea and made the match there and then. Chikara did his many Chops but Imanari scored the win with a Samson Clutch, meaning Chikara is now the King Of Dark Champion! Chikara was told he will have to fight in the Sumo Hall dark match unless he wins a DDT dark match before then. He’ll have one chance to get rid of the title at the first show of Beer Garden week.

8. KO-D Openweight Title – Good Com Asset Presents: Konosuke Takeshita (c) Vs Shuji Ishikawa

The Tag Team Titles will be fought over by two pairs of brothers from other mothers. Ken Ohka & KAI aren’t the first wrestlers from separate promotions to bond together in DDT. HARASHIMA & Yuko Miyamoto have been good buddies for a while and have teamed together at the last New Year’s Eve show.

Soma Takao is still undefeated at “PETER PAN” with a 7-0 record on the show. He can make it 8-0 and win the AJPW Jr. Title too if he beats Hikaru Sato.

The Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title is scheduled to return home next month. However its current trip around the world might make a return difficult. DDT is limited by who they can bring in for the Battle Royal. It is impossible for them to bring in any of the wrestlers who recently won the title overseas.

Super Sasadango Machine is now managing NωA and handling their efforts to enter the music industry. He organised a match against other wrestlers who have or had some sort of music career away from wrestling.

*V2 for Konosuke Takeshita. Tetsuya Endo cashes in his Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Contract.

takeshita-beats-endo

Konosuke Takeshita is still the KO-D Openweight Champion but it came at the cost of losing his best friend and tag team partner. Tetsuya Endo was the latest Right To Challenge holder to get his title shot and threw everything out there. He hit a No Touch Tope and a Swan Dive Elbow but Takeshita yelled at him to attack more. Endo went for the Torture Rack Bomb but it was countered with a Headlock. The Sky Twister Press missed and the two were soon both on their knees trading Elbow Smashes. Endo hit a Flip Piledriver for a nearfall. He later did an Avalanche Hurricanrana but Takeshita used the momentum to roll Endo into a pin for a two count. Takeshita then countered another Hurricanra into a Power Bomb. It finally took two German Suplexes to put Endo away.

this-is-the-endo

Takeshita praised the match they just had and said he wants their generation to liven up DDT. He offered a handshake but was suddenly interrupted by DAMNATION. Unit leader Daisuke Sasaki looked at Endo and asked him if he was tired of being a second class wrestler underneath his friend? He held up a DAMNATION T-shirt and asked if Endo wants to join them. Endo shocked everyone by pushing Takeshita away and accepting the shirt! Sasaki introduced everyone to DAMNATION’s 4th member, Tetsuya Endo!

owashi-rtc-challenge

When DAMNATION left ringside Takeshita was crushed. Ever since Endo won the contract in Hakata, Takeshita wanted nothing more than to have this title match with his friend in Korakuen Hall. If that wasn’t bad enough, “Sandstorm” played over the music system and Toru Owashi came out . The holder of the last active Right To Challenge contract finally decided on the date for his KO-D Title match. Amon Tsurumi stepped in and guessed the date. 23rd July in Yokohama? No, Owashi said that was too soon. How about 13th August in Shinjuku FACE for the last show of Beer Garden week? No, instead Owashi will cash in at the beginning of Beer Garden week on 8th August! Owashi said he waited four months for his title shot because it made him strong and the timing of it means he is guaranteed to go into Sumo Hall as the champion if he wins. And in Sumo Hall he will be so strong it’s scary! Takeshita’s response was that he will beat Owashi with the German Suplex and go on to face Shuji Ishikawa.

irie-farewell

Shigehiro Irie bid farewell to DDT and Japan with his final match before his American excursion. Irie couldn’t hold back the tears as he was showered with green tape from the fans. But he still had a match with Yukio Sakaguchi, HARASHIMA and Keisuke Ishii to go through. He hit the Beast Bomber twice on Ishii to win the match for himself & Sakaguchi. Irie bowed to all four sides of the arena to a thunderous applause.

sasaki-betrays-togo

Daisuke Sasaki isn’t happy to see his mentor Dick Togo back in action. Togo won his Korakuen return match and offered to shake hands with Kazusada Higuchi afterwards. Sasaki came out and went to hug Togo but instead gave him a Low Blow. Sasaki called Togo a dickhead and said that his disciple has gotten stronger during his four year absence. Togo tackled Sasaki and punched him over and over until wrestlers and referees came out to stop him. Sasaki gave one of the referees the Michinoku Driver II before leaving the ring. Togo was furious at Sasaki’s actions.

sasadango-nwa-manager

NωA continues to struggle, this time losing to DAMNATION. However help came afterwards in the form of Super Sasadango Machine. Sasadango complimented their musical and dancing talents but noticed a big flaw in their performance. They have no strong business relationships. Their strength in pro wrestling is tied to the strength of their business relationships. Sasadango offered to be their manager and handle all of NωA’s behind the scenes business. He also promised to get them booked on the “DDT FES 2016” show in November.

owashi-rtc-defence

Toru Owashi successfully defended his Right To Challenge Contract once again, this time in a 10-Person Tag Match. Owashi unmasked Super Sasadango Machine and pinned him with La Magistral Cradle. Danshoku Dino told Owashi after the match that today was the last DDT show in Korakuen Hall before “PETER PAN 2016” so maybe he can finally cash in his title shot. Sanshiro Takagi also pushed for Owashi to do it. Or maybe he could have the contract instead. Owashi slapped Takagi and said he already decided when he will get his title match. Owashi then had to flee from ringside when he was chased by wrestlers begging for the contract.

takao-sato-ajpw

Masa Takanashi is now wrestling under his real name Masahiro Takanashi plus he got a new entrance song to boot. But his moment in the spotlight was stolen by Soma Takao when Takao pinned Kota Umeda to continue his string of victories. His victory was interrupted by the return of Hikaru Sato! The Hard Hit fighter and former DDT wrestler is now currently the AJPW Jr. Heavyweight Champion and he was recently challenged by Takao to a title match. Sato’s appearance was to announce the date and location of the match. All Japan has allowed the match to take place at “PETER PAN 2016”!

sunflower-bomb-kenso

Amon Tsurumi’s bright idea of pairing Sanshiro Takagi & KENSO together as a team caused as much trouble as expected yet still produced results. Before their match began Takagi and KENSO argued over whose entrance song they should use. Daisuke Kiso came up with the solution to use both songs at the same time. During the match Takagi & KENSO collided with missed attacks several times. Takagi decided he had enough to he gave KENSO the Sunflower Bomb onto Mizuki Watase. KENSO stayed on top of Watase so that counted as a pin. After the match KENSO rallied the fans to convince DDT that he should be get a match at “PETER PAN 2016”. The fans booed him and Takagi refused. Tsurumi decided to give KENSO one more opportunity. He’ll fight Takagi at Kasukabe Hall on 6th August and if his performance is good enough he’ll get added to the “PETER PAN 2016” card. Tsurumi then told Takagi to please somehow become a better wrestler!

kudo-returns

KUDO gave an important update at the start of the show about his recovery process. He thanked the fans for waiting because he will return to action at “PETER PAN 2016”! He will team with Masahiro Takanashi to take on Yasu Urano & Akito. KUDO told everyone his goal is to start from zero and climb all the way back up to the KO-D Championship!

A big title match for “PETER PAN 2016” on 28th August was announced. Ken Ohka & KAI will defend the KO-D Tag Team Titles against HARASHIMA & Yuko Miyamoto, aka Yankee Smile!

Some new DDT merch is in production. NωA is getting an EVERLAST T-shirt, Saki Akai is getting a GLAM JAM bag and Danshoku Dino is getting a new DVD currently titled “DVD To Change The Friends Of Danshoku Dino To Like Professional Wrestling”.

6. HARASHIMA & Yasu Urano defeated Konosuke Takeshita & Antonio Honda when HARASHIMA pinned Honda with the Somato (16:47).

Shigehiro Irie shook hands with Daisuke Sasaki & Mad Paulie after their match. Sasaki even wished Irie luck on his upcoming trip to America. Irie now has only one match left in DDT before he leaves.

Keisuke Ishii is not pleased with Soma Takao challenging for the AJPW Jr. Heavyweight Title. Ishii thinks nobody has a stronger desire to win that championship than himself. He refuses to acknowledge Takao’s challenge and declared he will get a title shot instead.

KENSO attacked Kazuki Hirata during his dance before Match #2. He argued with the noisy fans for cheering Hirata then put on his own pair of HIRATA GO! glasses. He danced with Hirata and then pinned him with a Brainbuster. He complained to Amon Tsurumi after the match about having to team with Sanshiro Takagi on 17th July. He found out about the match while his wife was making him tom yum soup and it ruined his dinner. Tsurumi responded by suggesting KENSO might be in love with Takagi. All he ever talks about is coming to DDT so he can fight Takagi. He asked KENSO to put his hand on his chest and tell everyone how he truly feels. KENSO thought about it, yelled “Bakayaro!” and stormed off.

The emergence of Tetsuya Endo challenging Konosuke Takeshita for the KO-D Openweight Title has created a small rift in Happy Motels for now. Antonio Honda is siding with Takeshita while Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi is siding with Endo. This leads to a tag team match between the two teams in Saitama.

DDT is using the Infomercial Match to shill their own exercise equipment. Kazuki Hirata & Saka Akai are two of the faces of the Dramatic Exercise Series brand.

With only two Right To Challenge Contracts left in play and one of them soon to be cashed in, Toru Owashi is now a targeted man. He’s been very patient when it comes to getting his title shot but with every upcoming match he risks losing that chance.

Konosuke Takeshita admitted he was feeling envy over his opponents today. One is now a pop idol and the other is dating LiLiCo. Mizuki Watase said he is approaching the end of his first year as a wrestler and he has yet to win a singles match. He wants to challenge Takeshita for the KO-D Openweight Title when he is strong enough. He then remembered MAO is also a year into his career.

Kota Umeda scored an upset in DNA’s honour when he defeated KENSO. Umeda was hotheaded and eager to put a stop to KENSO’s reign of terror but it was still a big challenge. Umeda kepy kicking out of KENSO’s moves, prompting KENSO to try a Superplex. Umeda pushed him off and hit a Diving Elbow Drop. He then ducked a Lariat and hooked KENSO in a Backslide Pin for the win. KENSO protested to the ref that it wasn’t a three count while Umeda celebrated. Umeda then challenged Kazusada Higuchi to a match to determine who the strongest DNA wrestler is. Meanwhile KENSO will never forgive Sanshiro Takagi for this injustice.

Higuchi has suddenly found himself back in the KO-D Title chase. He now has a Right To Challenge Contract after beating Kouki Iwasaki. Higuchi said he wants to cash it in fair and square against the winner of this Sunday’s KO-D Title match.

6. Kazusada Higuchi & Kota Umeda defeated Mao Inoue & Mizuki Watase when Umeda pinned Watase with a Right High Kick (16:50).

The main event pitted two classes of DNA students against each other. Kazusada Higuchi & Kota Umeda were here from the start while Mao Inoue & Mizuki Watase debuted for DNA around 9 months later. Higuchi was amazed by the progress Inoue & Watase have made since then. Umeda switched his attention towards KENSO. In no friendly terms, Umeda called KENSO to come down to the ring. Higuchi calmed down the situation by suggesting Umeda and KENSO to have a match on 1st July. KENSO accepted and left the ring. Umeda swore a lot and said he has to beat KENSO next month.

After spending three months on the shelf with an injury, Daiki Shimomura had his comeback match with Shunma Katsumata. From the beginning he was in danger when Katsumata knocked him out of the ring and prepared to do a Quebrada. Shimomura grabbed Katsumata’s leg before he jumped and pulled him out of the ring. Katsumata was later able to hit the Quebrada and put Shimomura away with the Lightning Spiral followed by the Swan Dive X Factor.

KENSO didn’t think much of Rainbow Kawamura. He told Kawamura that his entrance was long and boring. During the match they both shouted “Dondake!” at each other after every move, which is some sort of slang way of saying “what the hell?”. KENSO took control and beat Kawamura with a Vertical Drop Brainbuster.

It was announced Big Japan and DDT will host a joint charity show in Kumamoto in aid of the reconstruction efforts after April’s earthquake. The show will be free to attend. Kumamoto’s own Kota Umeda will be wrestling on the show.
