The new King Of DDT is not from DDT at all. After a strong singles run in Big Japan, Union’s very own Isami Kodaka has now scored success in DDT and will be one half of the main event at “RYOGOKU PETER PAN 2014”. Kodaka earned that spot by beating two of DDT’s most decorated wrestlers. In the semi-finals of the tournament KUDO defeated Shigehiro Irie and Kodaka beat Kota Ibushi. The latter match featured a crazy moment where both Kodaka and Ibushi fought each other on top of the entrance gate. In the final Kodaka attempted to use El Generico’s Brainbustaaaaahhhhh!!!!! but KUDO escaped. Kodaka then tried the European Clutch he used to beat Ibushi but that also did not work. KUDO fought back with Spin Kicks and High Kicks but Kodaka countered it into a Brainbuster and finally won with the Zan Isamu Leg. Kodaka dedicated the win to Union and will go on to face the KO-D Openweight Champion.

But who the champion will be on 17th August is the question. HARASHIMA found out who his next challenger is before Kodaka and also came close to losing the title at the same time. Kenny Omega pinned Yasu Urano in the 3 Way Tag Match to win his Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Contract. Kenny said he wants to be in the main event at Sumo Hall and the only way he can do that is to win the championship from HARASHIMA. Kenny then challenged HARASHIMA to a title match at the final Korakuen Hall show before Sumo Hall on 20th July. And then Super Sasadango Machine’s music started playing…

Sasadango came out with the other remaining Right To Challenge Contract and said he wanted to be the KO-D Champion. He spent the past few months researching what it would take for him to become champion. He then showed a PowerPoint presentation of his research. He concluded that he needed a powerful special move in order to win so he came up with what he calls the Vertical Drop Lehman Shock (imagine Prince Devitt’s Bloody Sunday but without hooking the arm). According to Sasadango, hitting the Lehman Shock three times is all he needs to deplete all of his opponent’s HP. He was going to prove it right away because he then cashed in his contract! Sasadango hit the Lehman Shock over and over (and got the crowd to chant “One More Time!” after every one) but HARASHIMA just kept kicking out. The champion recovered and hit Sasadango with a High Kick and the Somato. That was all it took for a successful title defence. After the match HARASHIMA identified Sasadango as Muscle Sakai and said his research was interesting but forgot something very important. HARASHIMA can recover up to 80% health from the support of his fans and tonight he was restored to 90%. He still thought it was a fun match though.

takeshita-tanahashi

Tsurumi Amon announced a big match that he believed would attract a lot of attention for “RYOGOKU PETER PAN 2014”. DDT’s rookie phenom Konosuke Takeshita will take on New Japan superstar Hiroshi Tanahashi! The star made his entrance, played his air guitar, unbuttoned his shirt and introduced himself as the once in a century talent. He then told Takeshita he was looking forward to their match. Takeshita’s response was that he is a one in 200 million million years including the Jurrasic Era talent and his ability outweighs all!

takagi-kasai-suzuki-nakazawa

Michael Nakazawa was the sole survivor of the Elimination Match but not without the surprise help of his new ally. Nakazawa had a surprisingly good showing in the match, eliminating everyone in Sanshito Takagi’s team. When the match came down to Nakazawa and Takagi, Nakazawa used referee Daisuke Kiso as a shield from a Takagi Lariat. Then he wiped out replacement referee Yukinori Matsui with the Ultimate Venom Arm. Nakazawa called out the next replacement referee, Minoru Suzuki! Tsurumi Amon complained about Suzuki’s appearance but immediately backed down when Suzuki looked at him. Takagi pinned Nakazawa but Suzuki counted slowly until there was a kickout. Nakazawa rolled over Takagi and Suzuki did a fast count but Takagi kicked out. Takagi got angry at Suzuki and got put in a Sleeper Hold for his troubles. Suzuki then planted him with the Gotch-Style Piledriver and Nakazawa covered Takagi to win the match. Nakazawa taunted Takagi after the match and told him to quit before he faces himself and Suzuki at Sumo Hall. Takagi said they will have a Street Wrestling match and his partner is Jun Kasai! The Crazy Monkey appeared and stood face to face with Suzuki. He simply told him “Nice to meet you”.

ibushi-10

Kota Ibushi will celebrate his 10th anniversary in wrestling during July. He has two DVDs coming out featuring his best matches for DDT and New Japan respectively. There will also be a 10th Anniversary show in Osaka on 13th July. Ibushi gets to decide the card for the show but fireworks will be prohibited.

Tokyo Women’s Wrestling members Miyu Yamashita and Erin announced a special Tokyo Joshi show on 11th July in Ichigaya for the injured Ririko Kendo. Kendo is currently out of action with injuries to both her left and right arms. Afterwards Shigehiro Irie and Akito announced DDT will be part of “KENGO TAKAI AID” in Sportiva Arena on 6th July. Freelance wrestler Kengo Takai fractured his ankle and several wrestlers from around the scene are coming together to raise money for him. KUDO and Yukio Sakaguchi will also be on the card.

DDT will do another photobook with photographer Leslie Kee. The book will be called Super DDT.

*V2 for Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie.
8. KO-D Openweight Title: HARASHIMA defeated KUDO (c) with the Somato (23:13).
*KUDO fails in V3. HARASHIMA becomes the 48th KO-D Openweight Champion! HARASHIMA cashes in his Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Contract.

There is just no stopping HARASHIMA. He is now a 6 time KO-D Openweight Champion after defeating KUDO in a rematch of their “JUDGEMENT 2014” bout back in March. HARASHIMA cashed in his Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Contract to have this match and he is the second person to successfully get a championship for it. Masa Takanashi was the first but his cash in was on a weakened Sanshiro Takagi who had wrestled won the title moments before. Here the difference was HARASHIMA announced in advance he was cashing it on this day and KUDO was not wrestling anyone else. But no matter how much time KUDO had to prepare, HARASHIMA wound up being on top of the DDT mountain once again. There is no immediate challenger for the new champion due to the King Of DDT tournament beginning soon but two contracts are still in play. They are currently being held by Shigehiro Irie and Super Sasadango Machine.

It was a good day for Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie as they successfully defended the All Asia Tag Team Titles for the second time. Today they faced Yasu Urano & Akito from the newly formed Smile Squash faction. Irie says he wants to defend the belts more not just against DDT wrestlers but against All Japan teams too. But they are not interested in going after the KO-D Tag Team Championships right now. They waited so long to become the All Asia Champions that they are cherishing every moment they have with the belts.

Konaka Pale One and his brethren threatened to unleash a capsule monster into the arena but Ultraman Robin and his Robin Rangers came to the rescue. The two forces fought a foracious battle under Lucha Libre rules. Ultraman gained possession of the capsule and decided to use it on the Pale Ones. He threw it down to summon the monster but nothing happened. The match continued until Endo Pale One missed a Moonsault and Takagi Robin pinned him with La Magistral Cradle. Ultraman Robin checked the capsule after the match and came to the conclusion it was faulty. No matter, he protected Nagoya and that’s what matters. He threw away the capsule but then there was a bang. All of a sudden, Hirata Robin appeared from the capsule. Everyone looked at him in shock and then he danced.

The DDT Extreme Title was on the line in an Idol Lumberjack Death Match. Makoto Oishi brought along the idol group Sizukaze & Kizuna to stand by his side while the champion Masa Takanashi called up Emi Sakura and some of her Gatoh Move girls to do the same. Each of the lumberjacks were given a weapon they could use on the opponent whenever he wound up outside the ring but the items on offer were a little unbalanced. Oishi’s idols were all given plastic toy hammers, paper fans and wooden swords while Sakura brought along a barbed wire baseball bat! Oishi’s idols used their numbers advantage well, one of them trapped Takanashi in an Abdominal Stretch while all of the others whacked him with the hammers. Sakura did what she could to interfere including pulling the ref out of the ring when Oishi had Takanashi pinned for a three count. The interference finally backfired when a flying kick from Sakura aimed for Oishi was dodged and Takanashi was hit instead. Mizuno Haruko slapped Sakura out of the way and Oishi pinned Takanashi with the Tornado Clutch to become the new Extreme Champion!

Danshoku Dino revealed that he challenged Akitoshi Saito to a match in order to prove that Saito is gay. Saito denied it and called Dino an idiot. However he was interested in the Danshoku tights Dino was wearing, so much so that he stripped them off of Dino and put them on himself! Saito then Hip Thrusted Dino into the turnbuckles and gave him the Danshoku Driver to win the match. Dino approached Saito for a handshake and a kiss after the match but Saito immediately fled the ring.

Kota Ibushi had more important things to worry about today than an opening tag match in DDT. He was also scheduled to wrestle Tomohiro Ishii in a NEVER Openweight Title match over at Yokohama for New Japan. The New Japan match wasn’t taking place until the evening but Ibushi still needed time to travel, so he quickly and easily pinned Michael Nakazawa in the opener. Nakazawa’s team appealed for the match to restart and it was accepted by Ibushi’s team. Ibushi again won the match, this time pinning Guanchulo. After the match Ibushi and Kenny Omega said their goodbyes to Guanchulo and both raised his hands in the air.

kudo-defeats-akito

It was a busy afternoon in DDT with a lot going on. KUDO fought tooth and nail to keep his KO-D Openweight Title, first defeating Akito in a main event match that lasted almost 25 minutes. Akito tried to lock in the Triangle Scorpion to make KUDO tap just like he did in Saitama just over two weeks ago but the champion escaped the hold and delivered a Buzzsaw Kick in retaliation. Akito survived the barrage of kicks but eventually stayed down after the Diving Double Knee Drop. Victorious, KUDO said it was an interesting match and he wants to have more interesting matches because he will continue to stand in the centre of DDT. He offered a handshake to Akito but it was refused. That was not all KUDO had to put up with at the end of the show.

urashimakudo-contracts

Two of the Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Contracts changed hands today. HARASHIMA pinned Tetsuya Endo to gain possession of a contract. He approached KUDO at the end to challenge him to a title match. HARASHIMA said he was not going to take the cowardly route and instead will cash in his contract in Nagoya on 25th May. Yasu Urano won the other contract by pinning a possessed Antonio Honda in the Battle Royal earlier in the show. He also told KUDO he wanted to cash in and he was going to do it right now! The impromptu KO-D Title Match then began with Urano targeting KUDO’s. But despite the well prepared gameplan, KUDO was able to withstand Urano’s offense and fight back. In the end, two Buzzsaw Kicks put away Urano and KUDO was still the KO-D Champion. Urano left the ring pissed off and he tore apart the UraShimKudo shirt he was wearing. Amon Tsurumi praised KUDO for defending the title twice in one night and urged the remaining contract holders not to cash in today. He confirmed KUDO Vs HARASHIMA will take place on 25/5 as long as HARASHIMA still has his contract. HARASHIMA said he was looking forward to winning the title back because he is the strongest. KUDO then said if HARASHIMA is the strongest challenger, then defeating him will make KUDO strongest in the truest sense. KUDO then held a toast with his Shuten-dōji teammates.

kenny-fatality

The Golden Lovers went into their KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Title match with a big advantage. It turned out one of their opponents was badly injured. Was it Danshoku Dino? No. Makoto Oishi? Nope, it was Yoshihiko! The most dangerous member of the challenging trio entered the ring with its left arm heavily wrapped in bandages. Kenny Omega & Daisuke Sasaki took advantage immediately by pouncing Yoshihiko. What followed was one of the most violent sights to ever take place in a DDT ring as Omega and Sasaki literally tore Yoshihiko apart! Kota Ibushi had to look away as his partners dismantled Yoshihiko limb from limb. But fear not because Yoshihiko cannot be killed that easily. Just when it looked liked the Golden Lovers had the match won, the arena lights switched off and “TOKYO GO!” played over the speakers. Out came Kazuki Hirata and with him was a revived Yoshihiko wearing a Magnum TOKYO mask! Yoshihiko cleared the ring and was a house of fire until Ibushi got rid of Hirata with a Missile Dropkick. Despite the odds evening out, the Golden Lovers were able to win by delivering the PK Mind Ω to both Oishi and Yoshihiko at the same time.

drift-allasia

The big news of the night was Keisuke Ishii and Shigehiro Irie winning the All Asia Tag Team Championship! The two members of Team Dream Futures got their second title shot against Jun Akiyama & Yoshinobu Kanemaru after Ishii spent weeks following Akiyama begging for another match. The persistance paid off as Akiyama finally agreed and the match was booked in DDT. Even with the homeside advantage Ishii & Irie were the underdogs against a team with a combined 39 years of experience. And you know, a whole bunch of All Japan and Pro Wrestling NOAH championships between them. But Ishii & Irie shocked everyone by winning the titles. The champs had things in control for the final moments. Kanemaru dropped Ishii with the Deep Impact and Brainbuster but Ishii would either kick out or be saved by Irie everytime. Akiyama tried to give Irie the Exploder Suplex but Irie did what he could to block him. Then as Kanemaru lifted Ishii up for another Brainbuster, Ishii counters it into a Small Package for the three count! Amon Tsurumi was exceedingly happy to see Ishii & Irie win the titles and congratulated them for holding the same titles Footloose did. Irie said it was a dream for him and Ishii to win the titles. Ishii said it was a frustrating journey but thanks to the fans and to Drift for their support he and Irie were able to do it. They now want to defend the titles over and over in DDT.

ironman-1000-champ

It was now or never for the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title. The reigning and defending 999th champion Sanshiro Takagi wanted to retire the belt so it would never have a 1,000th champion. The belt’s creator Poison Sawada JULIE was able to stop him by claiming the belt’s strap contains an ancient treasure map that appears when roasted with an Inca lighter. Takagi agreed he would put the belt up for one more defence. If he wins, the belt is retired and he gets the lighter. When he entered the ring for the Battle Royal he said he wanted it to end quickly because he wanted to go find the treasure and use it to buy luxury watches. He was cut off by video footage of Poison Sawada passing bottles of S-Cells to several wrestlers. The S-Cells gave the wrestlers snake magic but also put them under Sawada’s control. Sawada’s goal? Get the title back from Takagi by any means necessary! Takagi fought through Sawada’s minions as well as the other wrestlers involved in the Battle Royal and became the last man standing. After the match Takagi told Sawada he was not a fool. There is no ancient treasure and the Inca lighter was something Sawada just bought in a shop for one hundred yen. Takagi wasn’t going to wait any longer to retire the championship and the ceremony begun. Sawada grabbed the belt and yelled “I have to challenge you!” The two struggled until Sawada knocked over Takagi with the belt falling on top of him. All of a sudden Yukinori Matsui slapped the mat three times. The Iron Man Title belt pinned Takagi. The Iron Man Heavymetalweight Championship itself became the new champion and will go down in history as the 1,000th Champion!

akiyama-ironman

The belt clearly spent the rest of the day celebrating to the point of exhaustion. It was found unconscious backstage at the end of the show. Jun Akiyama entered the room for a post match interview and sat down with his arm leaning on the belt. Yukinori Matsui suddenly jumped into view and started to count but Akiyama raised his arm at two and told Matsui to leave. When Matsui went away he unknowingly leant onto the belt again. This time Kyohei Wada appeared and he counted to three. Jun Akiyama is the new Iron Man Champion! Wada handed the belt to the new champion but at this point Akiyama was just annoyed by everything going on around him.

katsumata-guanchulo

The opening match had both good news and bad. The good news was Shunma Katsumata debuted and got a good reaction from the crowd. The bad news was Guanchulo wrestled his final match in Korakuen Hall before he returns home to Chile. He and Katsumata became friends during his stay and he was happy he got to team with him before he leaves.

miyatake-sandwich

DDT’s other rookie Shun Miyatake did not have a good day. He wrestled the dark match hoping to impress Amon Tsurumi enough so he could get a proper debut match. Tsurumi didn’t like what he saw and told Miyatake it wasn’t going to happen yet. Miyatake threw a fit and complained that he will forever be a rookie.

nakazawa-suzuki

Michael Nakazawa will face Minoru Suzuki in Shinjuku FACE on 9th May. Nakazawa actually asked for this match to happen because of what happened four months ago. Nakazawa defeated Sanshiro Takagi at “NEW YEAR NEW YEAR SPECIAL!” back in January thanks to some help from Suzuki. Nakazawa begged Suzuki to coach him but it was rejected and downgraded into Suzuki maybe doing something with Nakazawa down the line. Four months later and Nakazawa now wants to fight Suzuki. Nakazawa is certain he is going to win. He’s just not sure how.

The annual King Of DDT tournament returns this June. The first round will take place in Fukuoka on 14th June, the second round will be in Osaka on 15th June and the semi-finals and final will be in Korakuen Hall on 29th June. This year 16 wrestlers will enter the tournament and the first round pairings will be revealed on 29th May.

6. KO-D Openweight Title: KUDO defeated HARASHIMA (c) with the Diving Double Knee Drop (19:54).
*HARASHIMA fails in V7. KUDO becomes the 47th KO-D Openweight Champion!

DDT celebrates its 17th Anniversary with a new KO-D Openweight Champion! After seven months of dominating the main event scene, HARASHIMA was finally knocked off his throne by his former ally KUDO. The new champion gloated about how his win was the result of him leaving UraShimaKudo and he would wait for a rematch anytime. HARASHIMA and Yasu Urano glared at KUDO but both left. With the former champion out of the way, KUDO now has a whole host of new challengers ahead.

The annual free for all that is the Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Contract Battle Royal returned with six prizes on the line. A KO-D Title shot at Korakuen Hall on 29th April was the prize to the winner of the Royal Rumble portion of the match. The other portion was a Ladder Match with five contracts hanging above the ring, four of them with smiley faces and one with a skull on it. Tetsuya Endo, Masa Takanashi, Kazuki Hirata and Super Sasadango Machine each grabbed a smiley face contract, giving them a KO-D Title shot whenever they want. Guanchulo got the skull contract which turned out to be the right to challenge his favourite wrestler to a match. Akito last eliminated Konosuke Takeshita to win the Rumble match and get next month’s title shot. At the end of the show Akito told KUDO that there will be no more HARASHIMA’s challenging him because he will win the belt. The current generation on top in DDT will not last forever and he is here to be the future.

Guanchulo cashed in his contract and decided to have a match with Kikutaro. The match will take place on 29th March. The other contracts can be cashed in at any show until 2nd August. But just like last year, contracts can change hands if the holder is pinned or submitted in any match held inside Japan. Amon asked if anyone was going to cash in their contract before the April Korakuen show. Endo said he wants to cherish the contract because it’s his first time, so he will not cash it in yet. Sasadango also declined because he wants to train for his title match. Takanashi said he will not betray his “big brother” and will not challenge KUDO. Hirata was the only person who said he will cash in his contract at Korakuen next month.

Retired DDT wrestler Atsuo Sawada was a guest at the show and spoke about the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title that he originally created 14 years ago. He said it was amazing that the championship is close to crowning its 1,000th champion. The 999th champion Sanshiro Takagi knew all too well about this since he was chased by Gorgeous Matsuno and Gota Ihashi throughout the show. During his speech celebrating DDT’s 17th Anniversary, Takagi announced he was sealing the Iron Man Title. Takagi said 999 was a nice number for the title lineage to end and he was also sick of wrestlers constantly attacking him. Sawada protested because he created the title to be defended all the time and to be won by any wrestler or thing. Takagi tried to convince Sawada to accept the decision by comparing the number of title reigns to Galaxy Express 999 but eventually gave up. Amon Tsurumi then announced that the title will be defended in Kasukabe Hall on 12th April.

Despite losing all three matches in their trial series, Michael Nakazawa & Tomomitsu Matsunaga finally impressed Amon Tsurumi with their performance. Their KO-D Tag Team Title defeat to the Golden Lovers got Tsurumi to say “Michael & Matsunaga did real good!” Kota Ibushi called both wrestlers strong in the post-match interview but he and Kenny Omega also pointed out that there are no immediate challengers for them to face next.

The Monster Army had its final battle and for the occasion Antonio Honda asked the opposing team if they could drop their guard so the entire Army could do a surprise attack one more time. After the match Honda said the unit will live on in his breast. His nipple to be exact.

Keisuke Ishii has been left feeling depressed after he and Soma Takao failed to win the All Asia Tag Team Titles in All Japan last Tuesday. That match was Ishii’s second chance to win the belts and he came up short again. He considered giving up the challenge and no longer chase after the belts. Amon Tsurumi encouraged Ishii to not give up and if Ishii couldn’t win the belts with Takao then he should try again with Shigehiro Irie. He instructed Ishii to record a video of himself asking for another title match and to send the video to Jun Akiyama.

New trainees Shunma Katsumata and Shun Miyatake fought to a five minute draw in a pre-show exhibition. Afterwards Tsurumi announced that Katsumata will have his debut wrestling match on the next Korakuen show on 29th April. Miyatake asked when he was going to debut. Amon was surprised by the question and told Miyatake that he is 100 years too early to even talk about having a debut.

DDT will get a new show on Samurai! TV soon. The show is called DDT Wrestling Banzai \(^o^)/.

*V6 for HARASHIMA.

harashima-masa-somato

HARASHIMA just cannot be stopped, even though not many expected Masa Takanashi to stop him in the first place. Takanashi tried to do everything he could from playing possum to actually trying his best to win but in the end he fell to the Somato just like almost everyone else has during HARASHIMA’s KO-D Openweight Title reign. The next wrestler stepping up to the plate for a title shot is someone close to HARASHIMA, KUDO! HARASHIMA told KUDO he’s been waiting for him and gladly accepted the challenge for the next Korakuen Hall show on 21st March.

golden-lovers-pig

In a company filled with weirdness, it really takes a lot of effort to become the most bizarre challenge for a team like the Golden Lovers. Today that team appeared. The Brahman Brothers are infamous for their matches filled with foreign objects you would never expect to see in wrestling matches. The Brahmans made their entrance spitting water at everybody and soaked Tsurumi Amon with bottled tea. Throughout the match they used bamboo swords, a bucket of water, a chocolate cream cake, a bowling ball, a suitcase, pig feet and finally a decapitated pig’s head to try and defeat the KO-D Tag Team Champions. They also blinded the champions with black ink, Poison Mist style. But Kota Ibushi & Kenny Omega later gave them a taste of their own medicine and spat the ink in the faces of the Brahmans. The PK Mind put an end to one of the messiest matches in DDT history.

kudo-sakaguchi

The grudge between KUDO and Yukio Sakaguchi was formed when the two would not stop fighting each other during their matches. They finally got a singles match between each other and needless to say, they kicked the crap out of each other! KUDO was the last man standing and got the win with a Backspin Kick.

takao-dino-tonic

The KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles switched hands as Team Dream Futures defeated The Homo-sapiens. The story of the match was whether or not Keisuke Ishii had the mental strength to resist the Lip Lock from Danshoku Dino, Makoto Oishi & Aja Kong. Even though Kong got to kiss Shigehiro Irie, she also got an accidental kiss from Dino when Soma Takao kicked them into each other. Soma went above and beyond to win by countering the Danshoku Driver into the Gin And Tonic and pinning Dino while his head was still in his tights. Keisuke Ishii was thrilled to be a 6-Man Tag Champion again because Drift were the first champions and they had not held the belts for 393 days. Oishi decided to dissolve The Homo-sapiens but also demanded that he, Dino and a new partner should get a rematch.

endo-nakazawa-twister

Konosuke Takeshita & Tetsuya Endo got off on a great start for their 3 match series. The rookie team defeated Michael Nakazawa & Tomomitsu Matsunaga in an impressive display. After the match Endo said he and Takeshita were second to none. He then asked Tsurumi who their next opponents are going to be. Tsurumi admitted Nakazawa & Matsunaga were disappointing first choices and announced the rookie’s next match in Osaka on 2nd March will be against Zeus & The Bodyguard!

kakimoto-ironman

Daichi Kakimoto celebrated his final match for DDT by winning the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title and then losing it afterwards. The Rumble match saw the belt change hands several times. Yasu Urano went in as champion but was pinned by Emi Sakura with the help of Gaunchulo and DJ Nira. Nira then betrayed Sakura to win the belt from her. Akito submitted Nira and then Kakimoto with the help of Guanchulo and Gota Ihashi won the belt from Akito. Kakimoto went on to win the match as champion and was given a farewell ceremony. Kakimoto said he felt 100 times stronger returning to the ring. Everyone celebrated until Kazuki Hirata suddenly gave Kakimoto a School Boy and ran off with the belt.

takagi-hoshitango-magistral

The opener was fought under Lucha Libre rules, which is becoming common for matches between Sanshiro Takagi & Toru Owashi and the Monster Army. When the rules were announced Owashi got “T2P” chants. The Monster Army suffered another defeat and Antonio Honda was left frustrated. He told his team mates that after working so hard for a year and a half he now realises their goal of purchasing a tank is too great for them to achieve. Honda then announced the Monster Army’s last match will take place next month.

As best as I can tell, this is DDT parodying their own BOYZ spin-off brand. Tomomitsu Matsunaga will be the special ring announcer for the show.

The boxing match will be only one round but that round has a 45 minute time limit. Yuzuki Aikawa will be the ring girl.

3. KO-D Tag Team Titles Match: Kota Ibushi & Kenny Omega (c) Vs Brahman Shu & Brahman Kei
4. KO-D Openweight Title Match: HARASHIMA (c) Vs Masa Takanashi

DDT’s eternal underdog has gotten himself a KO-D Openweight Title match. Despite a poor record preventing him from earning a title shot normally, Masa Takanashi got his friend Emi Sakura to trick Amon Tsurumi into signing the contract to make the match official.

Kota Ibushi & Kenny Omega are going to face a team unlike any other in wrestling today. The Brahman Brothers have terrified many wrestlers, referees and fans alike with their antics. Expect insects, slime and maybe a decapitated animal head or two.

6. KO-D Tag Team Titles – 3 Way Match: Kota Ibushi defeated Isami Kodaka & Yuko Miyamoto (c) and Konosuke Takeshita & Tetsuya Endo when Omega pinned Endo after the Swan Dive PK Mind (16:38).
*Yankii Ni Cho Kenji fail in V7. The Golden Lovers become the 49th KO-D Tag Team Champions!
7. KO-D Openweight Title: HARASHIMA (c) defeated Shigehiro Irie with the Somato (21:42).
*V5 for HARASHIMA.
Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title: Yasu Urano defeated Masa Takanashi (c) with a School Boy (2:58 pm).
*Yasu Urano becomes the 989th champion.

If he hasn’t proven it already, HARASHIMA is a dominant champion. Shigehiro Irie in my mind had the best shot at becoming the man to win the KO-D Openweight Title from HARASHIMA and he was struck down by the champ today. HARASHIMA called Irie a very strong fighter and told him to challenge again and again. HARASHIMA was asked who he wanted to defend the belt against next. Masa Takanashi came out but Amon Tsurumi flat out told him no. He won’t give him the match because his win-loss record lately is bad. Takanashi said he should get the match because he is the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion. Yasu Urano then snuck behind Takanashi and pinned him with a School Boy to become the new Iron Man Champion. Takanashi then begged for a match with Urano so he can win back that title. Tsurumi booked it for the 2nd February Nagoya show. Tsurumi then apologised to HARASHIMA for not finding a No. 1 Contender.

Yankii Ni Cho Kenji’s goal of achieving 100 KO-D Tag Team Title defences has been cut short by the Golden Lovers. Even worse for the former champions, neither Yuko Miyamoto or Isami Kodaka were pinned to lose the belts. Konosuke Takeshita & Tetsuya Endo were also involved in the 3 Way Tag match after they fought the Golden Lovers to a time limit draw in Osaka two weeks ago. Kota Ibushi & Kenny Omega were able to isolate Endo and give him the PK Mind Double Tombstone to become the new champions. After the match Kodaka told Ibushi to give them back the belts but Ibushi said no. Kodaka refused to accept the result because neither he or Miyamoto were pinned. Miyamoto demanded a title match against the Lovers and Amon Tsurumi booked it for Nagoya next week. Kenny was okay with the decision because he wants a good challenge and the Yankees are a strong team.

Hikaru Sato fought his final match for DDT today, teaming with Sanshiro Takagi to face Yukio Sakaguchi & Akito. Sakaguchi decided to wrestle the match bare footed when he squared up with Sato. Both had big smiles on their faces as they fought and taunted each other. Sato won his final DDT match by submitting Akito and “Dream Fighter” by Perfume played over the speakers as Takagi, Sakaguchi and Michael Nakazawa gave him their goodbyes. Sato and Nakazawa even shared a kiss! Sato then threw his leg guards and knee pads into the crowd as they chanted his name.

Toru Owashi thought that he and Yoshiko were like brother and sister when they teamed together to beat Makoto Oishi & Saki Akai. Yoshiko pinned Akai to serve the model her first loss in wrestling. When asked about Akai during a post-match interview, Yoshiko said she has not grown as a wrestler since her debut last year. She was asked to compare Akai with Yuzuki Aikawa and she said they don’t compare at all. Akai admitted she was afraid if she messed up and if her body cannot keep up with the other wrestlers in the ring. Oishi consoled her as she began crying. Akai said she will practice more and more and will get revenge on Yoshiko.

A chain of Figure Four Necklocks resulted in the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title changing hands four times in four seconds. Masa Takanashi went into the Battle Royal as champion and was able to win back the title before the time ran out. He then lost the belt to Urano at the end of the show.

DDT has a new sponsor on their corner posts. They are sponsored by a PC web browser game called Joshi Wrestling War Ring☆Dream (女子プロレス大戦リング☆ドリーム). As part of this deal Sanshiro Takagi, Antonio Honda and Michael Nakazawa will get gender-swapped versions of themselves added to the game! T-shirts of their characters will also be sold at future DDT shows.

MMA fighter Mitsuyoshi Nakai announced he will compete at the 28th February Hard Hit show. Mitsuyoshi is the son of manga artist Yoshinori Nakai, one half of the Yudetamago duo famous for making Kinnikuman. Hikaru Sato described his fight style as Pancrase-like and he scouted him because of that style. Nakai received an offer to do pro wrestling by Takagi and Sato last year but he wasn’t sure to accept it. However he became a fan of Hard Hit and wanted to take part.

The Brahman Brothers will be on the 23rd February Korakuen Hall show.
