8. Twelve New Year’s Eve Dream: Konosuke Takeshita defeated ZERO with the Cross Arm German Suplex (23:29).
The main event was an important one for Konosuke Takeshita. He was taking on one of his Osaka Pro heroes, ZERO. The wrestler now known as HUB found out about Takeshita’s dream to fight him and returned to his old gimmick for the special occasion. All kind gestures aside he didn’t take it easy on the kid. ZERO attacked Takeshita with a chair and then threw him into the crowd while they fought outside the ring. Later on ZERO stomped on Takeshita while yelling “What’s wrong!” until Takeshita fought back with Elbow Strikes. Takeshita hit the Blue Thunder Bomb and the German Suplex but ZERO kicked out of them both. ZERO avoided the Touchdown and hit a Shining Wizard to the back of the head for a nearfall. Takeshita returned with a Lariat and the Deadlift German Suplex but ZERO kicked out again. Takeshita struck him with a Running Elbow but ZERO kicked out at one. That seemed to be the last of his energy spent because Takeshita hit another Lariat and then the Cross Arm German Suplex to win a hard fought battle. ZERO told Takeshita he was feeling a lot of emotions throughout that match but most of them were of happiness. ZERO covered his face with a shirt and unmasked. He gave Takeshita his mask as a gift and told him it was specially made just for today’s match. Takeshita said he became a pro wrestler so he could wrestle ZERO. His dream came true so it was now time for a new dream. His new dream is to win the KO-D Openweight Title, boost Japanese wrestling and become the best wrestler in the world!
Daisuke Sasaki’s modified version of the Crossface Lock that won him the KO-D Title now has a name. It is now called the Cross Facelock Doppelganger. He used it to submit Akito in the semi-main event.
Jinsei Shinzaki took Super Sasadango Machine’s mask and wore it for the ending stretch of the 6-Man Tag. After the match Shinzaki took off the mask and told everyone else to sit down while he lectured them about wrestling and life.
Kazuki Hirata got Hiroshi Fukuda, Kuishinbo Kamen, Kikutaro and even Yukinori Matsui to dance with him before they started wrestling each other. Fukuda and Kikutaro also took some time to sing during the match. When Hirata and Kamen won they celebrated with more dancing until Kamen collapsed. Atsushi Maruyama ran down to check on him and then nervously thanked everyone for coming to the show. Kamen got up and sang “I Do Not Want To Release You” by T-BOLAN.
Dick Togo does what he wants whenever he is the referee. He was accidentally knocked down by a Bionic Elbow from Antonio Honda. However he saw Yasu Urano cheat by choking Honda with his bandana. Togo stopped him by giving Urano the Pedigree! Honda then hit the Diving Fist Drop to win the match.
There was no winner in the match between Danshoku Dino Vs Magnitude Kishiwada. There was a loser though. Yukinori Matsui kept getting in the way of Lip Locks from both Dino and Kishiwada until he fainted. Daisuke Kiso took his place just to call off the match but he received a Lip Lock from Dino too.
A “Luxury Prize” was promised to the winning team in the Surprise Tag Rumble. There were two surprise entries in the match. One was Ken Ohka & Hideki Shiota. Ohka just spent his time in the match promoting Ganbare☆Wrestling’s show in Osaka on 27th July. The second surprise team was Kota Ibushi & Gota Ihashi! This was Ibushi’s first appearance in DDT since “JUDGEMENT 2016” back in March. Ibushi & Ihashi came out the winners and were given their prize by Kuishinbo Kamen. The luxury prize was 24 copies of Kamen’s autobiography. In a backstage interview Ibushi said the 29th May is for now his last scheduled date of Ibushi Wrestling Institute activities. He said he will probably do something this year that will cause an explosion in wrestling and told everyone to just wait a little bit longer.

A press conference was held inside DDT’s new Shinjuku office this morning and it was all about Kota Ibushi. He’s been away from the public eye ever since October when a suspected herniated cervical disc put him out of action. Barring a tweet here and there, things were quiet from his end until today. He was at the conference along with DDT President Sanshiro Takagi & GM Amon Tsurumi to make a few announcements. First Ibushi’s dual contract with DDT and New Japan Pro Wrestling has been cancelled. Ibushi’s injury turned out to be lumbar spondylolisthesis and he is on track to making a full recovery. He was given the OK by his doctor to return to pro wrestling but personally feels he has hit his physical limit. The schedule he had for the last two years working for two companies at the same time has taken its toll. He now thinks it is time for him to pursue a new kind of pro wrestling separate from either company. So he is now graduating from DDT and New Japan to launch the Ibushi Wrestling Institute. What that is exactly Ibushi hasn’t said but he will give us more details eventually. He is the only member of the Institute and he himself does not know if he will invite anyone else to join.
It looks like Ibushi will still wrestle for DDT and New Japan eventually but as a representative of Ibushi Wrestling Institute. NJPW President Naoki Sugibayashi released a statement saying he looks forward to working with Ibushi again in the future. Ibushi’s return match will take place at “JUDGEMENT 2016 ~DDT 19th ANNIVERSARY~” in Sumo Hall on 21st March. He and Gota Ihashi will be added to the Falls Count Anywhere Weapon Treasure Hunt Match turning it into a 3 Way Tag against Sanshiro Takagi & Jun Kasai and KENSO & Michael Nakazawa. It will be the first time Ibushi will be in a Falls Count Anywhere Match at Sumo Hall. That and getting to wrestle both Takagi and Nakazawa again are why Ibushi was put into the match.
After a week long absence from the ring attributed to illness, a press conference was held to discuss the current and future status of Kota Ibushi. Both Sanshiro Takagi and Naoki Sugabayashi were in attendance since the news effected both DDT and New Japan. It was explained that at midnight on 24th October Ibushi picked up a high fever that forced him to be taken off of DDT’s Korakuen Hall show the next day. The illness also cancelled an autograph signing for his new book. During the summer Ibushi had been feeling numbness in the left side of his body. He was sent to a doctor for a check-up and diagnosed with a herniated cervical disc. The decision was made that Ibushi will not be wrestling for either company until he has healed from his injury. According to Takagi, Ibushi has decided not to go under surgery as part of his treatment. There is no time given for how long his recovery will take but Takagi reckons he will be gone until the start of 2016 at the earliest.
In DDT, Ibushi is one half of the KO-D Tag Team Champions with Daisuke Sasaki. Takagi announced that the titles will be vacated and he does not want to interfere with Ibushi’s daily life while he recovers. He wants Ibushi to completely recover and will wait for his return if he has to. Takagi also apologised to Ibushi’s fans for the inconvenience. Sugabayashi said Ibushi’s contract with New Japan which is about to run out will be renewed and he will wait for his return to the company.
On the DDT side of things this injury comes at a bad time. With Ibushi and KUDO both out of action for the time being that is two big absences in the main event scene. HARASHIMA is still there to carry the load as he always does, it’s too early to tell if Yukio Sakaguchi is a draw as the KO-D Openweight Champion, I have no idea how much mileage is in another Danshoku Dino push and Isami Kodaka will be busy with BASARA and his outside bookings. While DDT has done a great job in the last 12 months introducing and debuting new wrestlers, the younger generation hasn’t been fully embraced by the fans judging by the Dramatic General Election results. With a big Sumo Hall show booked for March next year they need something big and if Ibushi hasn’t recovered by then it will put a big dent in that plan. They better pray to whatever deity that can protect HARASHIMA from getting injured.

The main event had to be changed hours before the show when Kota Ibushi fell ill with a high fever. It was decided he was in no state to compete so he was pulled off the show and replaced with HARASHIMA. HARASHIMA was picked because finished 3rd in the Dramatic General Election so the KO-D Openweight Title was still on the line. He appeared calm when he entered the ring despite the hectic story behind his latest title shot. Maybe the lack of time for HARASHIMA to prepare was the deciding factor in Yukio Sakaguchi winning but respect was shared after the match. Sakaguchi was happy with getting a fierce fight after the emergency switch. He said he can wait for Ibushi another day but there is a name at the top of his list of who he wants to fight. That name is Isami Kodaka. The winner of the Dramatic Election was confirmed to be Sakaguchi’s next challenger in Osaka on 28th November.
The annual Rock-Paper-Scissors tournament took place after the main event. The prize on offer was a KO-D Title shot in Hakata on 13th December. Tetsuya Endo ran through the tournament and defeated Danshoku Dino in the final. He admitted he was a lucky boy and now looks forward to Sakaguchi Vs Kodaka. He said he told everyone before that he would one day get a KO-D Title shot before his tag partner Konosuke Takeshita. Now he has the chance to beat Takeshita in the race to become KO-D Champion first.
Daisuke Sasaki returned from a tour of Chile and brought along his newly won Chile MAX Lucha Libre Championship. This match was Kodaka’s first DDT appearance since the formation of BASARA but he was wearing a Union shirt in dedication to his former promotion. Kodaka thanked Sasaki for a good match but he now must pay attention to Sakaguchi.
HARASHIMA’s late addition to the main event meant that he was taken out of Match #5. Super Sasadango Machine was annoyed because it was too late for him to change his PowerPoint presentation and HARASHIMA featured heavily in it. For some reason he decided to team with Yasu Urano instead of Ken Ohka and the match was now a 2 Vs 1 Handicap bout. Ohka and Machine tried to avoid each other and play wrestle when they were in the ring together. However Ohka eventually got too into the action and soon both of them wrestled each other as normal. Sasadango tried to immitate HARASHIMA by going for the Somato but Ohka rolled out of the way and hit the Spear Of Flame to win the match. Afterwards Ohka yelled out his support for HARASHIMA in the main event and also for their upcoming meeting with Hiroshi Tanahashi next month.
The DDT Extreme Title match featured a lot of torture. Both Antonio Honda and Danshoku Dino were accompanied by a friend, Honda had Ryu Gouma and Dino had Toru Owashi. Whenever a wrestler initiated a rope break their friend would be tortured and held hostage at ringside. The match ends either through normal means or when a hostage gives up. Both Owashi and Gouma were trapped against a corner post and tortured with clothespins attached to the face, tickling, ice poured down their shirts, getting their face rubbed into Hiroshi Fukuda’s pet dog P-chan and having kusaya (salt-dried and fermented fish) wiped under their nose. The Kusaya proved to be Owashi’s breaking point and he gave up just when Dino was about to beat Honda with a 10 count KO. Kendo Kashin appeared (wearing Sasadango Machine’s title belt for some reason) after the match and challenged Honda to an Extreme Title match on the 28/11 Osaka show. He also gave him a pumpkin mask. Honda put on the mask and accepted the challenge. Kashin then grabbed the Extreme belt and handed it over to a fan in the front row. In a backstage interview Kashin said he wants to do a UWF Rules match but with pinfalls also allowed.
Freelance wrestler KENSO appeared after the intermission looking for Sanshiro Takagi. He first showed up at yesterday’s Tokyo Joshi Pro event and was told to come here if he wanted Takagi’s attention. KENSO brought up their feud from 2006 that culminated in a No Ropes Exploding Barbed Wire Death Match. KENSO said their rivalry had so much passion and he wishes to relive it. Takagi offered a singles match for 3rd November. The crowd started chanting “Dark” and KENSO thought they were referring to his Dark Kingdom stable. Takagi had to explain the King Of Dark Title to him. Since Takagi is the champion the match has to be for the title and thus has to be on the pre-show. KENSO still accepted the match.
Soma Takao used an Oklahoma Roll to pin Akito in Match #3. Takao calls the move the Endless Waltz.
Everyone in Match #2 wrestled in fancy dress costumes. Yuka Sakazaki was a witch and KAT-TOO were her zombies. Saki Akai wore an orange maid costume, Masa Takanashi wore a pumpkin mask and Kazuki Hirata was, who else? Magnum TOKYO.
Cherry still had the Union Fly To Everywhere Title belt with her when she faced Ai Shimizu in the opener.
There was a big applause for both Shigehiro Irie and Konosuke Takeshita after their time limit draw. Despite being a dark match both wrestlers wanted to fight their hearts out.
Hiroshi Fukuda distracted Shoko Nakajima by making her sing and then attacking her. Nakajima turned the tables when she interrupted Fukuda’s own singing with a Roll Up but Fukuda kicked out and applied an Armlock to submit her.
Daisuke Sasaki will hold a show celebrating his 10th anniversary of his pro wrestling debut on 18th November. Dick Togo will be the special guest referee for the main event and Antonio Honda Vs Yusuke Kubo is the first announced match.
Aja Kong will return with the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title on the 28/11 Osaka show. She will defend the title in a Battle Royal.
Keisuke Ishii, Makoto Oishi and Masa Takanashi are all getting gender swapped characters for the Ring☆Dream online card game.

6. Yukio Sakaguchi & Masa Takanashi defeated Kota Ibushi & Suguru Miyatake by Referee Stoppage when Sakaguchi choked out Miyatake with a Sleeper Hold (10:11).
Yukio Sakaguchi and Kota Ibushi had their first scramble since their KO-D Openweight Title match was confirmed. Sakaguchi came out on top when he took out Ibushi with the Right Knee Of God. He then choked out Suguru Miyatake with a Sleeper Hold. When Ibushi came to he didn’t realise the match was over and he attacked Sakaguchi. The two had to be pulled apart. Sakaguchi provoked Ibushi causing another pull apart between the two. Problems continued after the show when the two got into another fight backstage.
A Loser Leaves Town match was booked between Antonio Honda, Danshoku Dino and Gota Ihashi. Whoever was pinned would be immediately kicked out of the building so all three wrestlers had to bring their suitcases and personal belongings out to the ring. Yukinori Matsui was knocked out during the match. Ihashi brought in the DDT Extreme Title belt and struck Honda over the head with it. Dino then gave Ihashi the Danshoku Pedigree onto the belt. He then placed Ihashi on top of Honda when Matsui woke up. Honda took the pin and he was forced to leave Kasukabe Hall immediately. Dino was happy to embarrass Honda by having the Extreme Champion get pinned by the former King Of Dark Champion.

Isami Kodaka is the winner of the 2015 Dramatic General Election! His prize is one million yen and a KO-D Openweight Title shot in Osaka on 28th November. He called the result a great comeback after Union’s closure. He and several other Union wrestlers announced the formation of Pro Wrestling BASARA during the show.
Kota Ibushi finished in 2nd place and was given 300,000 yen and a KO-D Title shot on 25th October for his troubles. Ibushi thought it was a shame because he won last year’s election but he was still happy to get a lot of votes.
#OhkaEmpire will get to book the 17th November Korakuen Hall show for winning the Unit Election. Super Sasadango Machine put together a Powerpoint presentation thanking the fans for voting for them. He also announced the production of DDT’s next documentary film that will follow DDT’s story over the course of a year. Sasadango then wondered if the show could be promoted under the Muscle brand. This poses a problem because a Muscle show needs Muscle Sakai and the brand’s next show is supposed to take place in 2030 per Sakai’s request. Ken Ohka also had a plan that involved HARASHIMA. Ohka wants to book Hiroshi Tanahashi! He told HARASHIMA that he was mortified by Tanahashi’s attitude during “RYOGOKU PETER PAN 2015” and he wants to team with HARASHIMA to fight Tanahashi! HARASHIMA was moved to tears as he thanked Ohka for the offer.
Everyone ranked from #1 to #22 will wrestle on the main card for the 25th October Korakuen show. Those ranked #23 to #26 will be competing in the dark match.
Booing 2015 is forced to disband because they finished in last place.
