Both Kazuki Hirata and Yuni have been taken off of this weekend’s shows. Hirata is recovering from a right knee injury he suffered at the last show. Yuni is showing symptoms of a fever and was taken off as a precaution.

Makoto Oishi is coming in as Hirata’s replacement in the Kotatsu Fighting Match. Tomomitsu Matsunaga will fill in for Yuni in the match against To-y.

The bullet train match that DDT did back in 2023 was such a hit that it’s happening again. This time however it is TJPW starring in the sequel, although Takagi will still be involved with producing the event. This time it will be a bigger match on a longer journey. The train ride will go from Tokyo to Shin-Osaka with an estimated travel time of 2 hours and 27 minutes. Its top speed will be 285km so just imagine a Skull Kick, Whirling Candy, Giant Swing or Goodnight Express going at that kind of speed!

8. Twelve New Year’s Eve Dream: Konosuke Takeshita defeated ZERO with the Cross Arm German Suplex (23:29).

The main event was an important one for Konosuke Takeshita. He was taking on one of his Osaka Pro heroes, ZERO. The wrestler now known as HUB found out about Takeshita’s dream to fight him and returned to his old gimmick for the special occasion. All kind gestures aside he didn’t take it easy on the kid. ZERO attacked Takeshita with a chair and then threw him into the crowd while they fought outside the ring. Later on ZERO stomped on Takeshita while yelling “What’s wrong!” until Takeshita fought back with Elbow Strikes. Takeshita hit the Blue Thunder Bomb and the German Suplex but ZERO kicked out of them both. ZERO avoided the Touchdown and hit a Shining Wizard to the back of the head for a nearfall. Takeshita returned with a Lariat and the Deadlift German Suplex but ZERO kicked out again. Takeshita struck him with a Running Elbow but ZERO kicked out at one. That seemed to be the last of his energy spent because Takeshita hit another Lariat and then the Cross Arm German Suplex to win a hard fought battle. ZERO told Takeshita he was feeling a lot of emotions throughout that match but most of them were of happiness. ZERO covered his face with a shirt and unmasked. He gave Takeshita his mask as a gift and told him it was specially made just for today’s match. Takeshita said he became a pro wrestler so he could wrestle ZERO. His dream came true so it was now time for a new dream. His new dream is to win the KO-D Openweight Title, boost Japanese wrestling and become the best wrestler in the world!

Daisuke Sasaki’s modified version of the Crossface Lock that won him the KO-D Title now has a name. It is now called the Cross Facelock Doppelganger. He used it to submit Akito in the semi-main event.

Jinsei Shinzaki took Super Sasadango Machine’s mask and wore it for the ending stretch of the 6-Man Tag. After the match Shinzaki took off the mask and told everyone else to sit down while he lectured them about wrestling and life.

Kazuki Hirata got Hiroshi Fukuda, Kuishinbo Kamen, Kikutaro and even Yukinori Matsui to dance with him before they started wrestling each other. Fukuda and Kikutaro also took some time to sing during the match. When Hirata and Kamen won they celebrated with more dancing until Kamen collapsed. Atsushi Maruyama ran down to check on him and then nervously thanked everyone for coming to the show. Kamen got up and sang “I Do Not Want To Release You” by T-BOLAN.

Dick Togo does what he wants whenever he is the referee. He was accidentally knocked down by a Bionic Elbow from Antonio Honda. However he saw Yasu Urano cheat by choking Honda with his bandana. Togo stopped him by giving Urano the Pedigree! Honda then hit the Diving Fist Drop to win the match.

There was no winner in the match between Danshoku Dino Vs Magnitude Kishiwada. There was a loser though. Yukinori Matsui kept getting in the way of Lip Locks from both Dino and Kishiwada until he fainted. Daisuke Kiso took his place just to call off the match but he received a Lip Lock from Dino too.

A “Luxury Prize” was promised to the winning team in the Surprise Tag Rumble. There were two surprise entries in the match. One was Ken Ohka & Hideki Shiota. Ohka just spent his time in the match promoting Ganbare☆Wrestling’s show in Osaka on 27th July. The second surprise team was Kota Ibushi & Gota Ihashi! This was Ibushi’s first appearance in DDT since “JUDGEMENT 2016” back in March. Ibushi & Ihashi came out the winners and were given their prize by Kuishinbo Kamen. The luxury prize was 24 copies of Kamen’s autobiography. In a backstage interview Ibushi said the 29th May is for now his last scheduled date of Ibushi Wrestling Institute activities. He said he will probably do something this year that will cause an explosion in wrestling and told everyone to just wait a little bit longer.

The new KO-D Openweight Champion has a busy schedule ahead of him. Daisuke Sasaki now has two championships to defend and his “pet” Shuji Ishikawa won’t be there to protect him all the time. To remedy this Sasaki got himself a second “pet” to guard him from the other Right To Challenge Contract holders. All Sasaki has said about his new pet is it’s cute and he thinks it’s male. He’s unsure if he will obtain any more pets after this one because he’s running out of space in his home.

After three years and nine months as a unit, Team Drift have decided to split after their latest failed attempt to chase after a championship. Keisuke Ishii feels that Drift have stagnated as a team. Shigehiro Irie said he now feels lonely after the decision but he has to face reality. Soma Takao thinks he needs to take this chance to grow after he failed to win anything in the Right To Challenge Rumble at “JUDGEMENT 2016”. Their final match as a unit will take place on 29th May but until then they will have a farewell series of matches on DDT shows. Ken Ohka demanded to be inserted into one of Drift’s final matches when he found out about their dissolution. He’s even willing to reform #OhkaEmpire for the occasion.

Ai Shimizu approached Ken Ohka directly to ask if she could join Ganpuro. The former Tokyo Joshi Pro wrestler has attended shows in the past and sees Ganpuro as the next place for her career. She even slapped Ohka to prove how serious she is to join the company. Ohka is now looking to find the best opponent for Shimizu’s first match.

Shibata was originally supposed to be in the opening match teaming with Mitomi Masayuki. Unfortunately Shibata had to pull out of the show due to a double booking. Rainbow Kawamura takes his place. Kawamura was a part of Enjo-gun faction before his injury and transformation. It’s unknown if his new personality will clash with Masayuki.

Japan Trip, Grand Illumination, Max Bump, Takeshita Dream Match

Last May Kazusada Higuchi used a Right To Challenge contract to get a title match. His undefeated streak was ended by the champion HARASHIMA. Now almost a year later Higuchi finds himself in a similar position. He wants to get revenge on HARASHIMA for ending his win streak.

The New Gen Combo were granted a rematch for the KO-D Tag Team Titles.

The current Right To Challenge contract holders are Toru Owashi, Tomomitsu Matsunaga, Danshoku Dino, Antonio Honda and Saki Akai.

It’s been a dream for Konosuke Takeshita to wrestle HUB. He’s been a fan of his going well back to his Osaka Pro days as zero.

Other wrestlers expected to compete are Jinsei Shinzaki, Magnitude Kishiwada, Kikutaro, Kuishinbo Kamen, Shuji Ishikawa, Kengo Takai, Shoichi Uchida and Super Sasadango Machine. Dick Togo will also appear.

2. Yuji Hino, Daisuke Sasaki & Shoichi Uchida defeated Sanshiro Takagi, Toru Owashi & Kiai Ryuuken Ecchan when Sasaki pinned Takagi with the Now Or Never (12:29).
3. Masa Takanashi & Makoto Oishi defeated Yukio Sakaguchi & Akito when Oishi pinned Akito with the Aun Times (6:42).

A busy day for the wrestlers who held a Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Contract. Yasu Urano regained possession of a contract by pinning Keisuke Ishii in the main event, also defending his KO-D Tag Team Title with HARASHIMA in the process. But the big story was Makoto Oishi winning a contract from Akito and later cashing it in to challenge Shigehiro Irie for the KO-D Openweight Title. Despite having just wrestled and lost in the main event, Irie was able to defeat Oishi and register V1 for his title run.

The team of Sanshiro Takagi & Toru Owashi has not blended well together since forming. Their defeat to the Monster Army today was caused when Owashi accidentally knocked out Takagi with a Lariat.
