6. DDT Special 4 Vs Happy Motel Falls Count Anywhere 8-Man Tag Team Match: Sanshiro Takagi, HARASHIMA, Yukio Sakaguchi & Saki Akai defeated Antonio Honda, Konosuke Takeshita, Tetsuya Endo & Hiroshi Fukuda when HARASHIMA pinned Fukuda with the Somato (18:48).

DDT went to the great outdoors for this show. Izuguranparu Park was holding a light show and DDT was brought in as the lead up to the event. A ring and stage entrance was set up in the area but everyone in the main event didn’t care and took the match over to different areas of the park. Yukio Sakaguchi and Saki Akai entered the area in style by driving a car over to the ring. Sanshiro Takagi cycled to ringside on his Combat Bicycle. He used a fire extinguisher on anyone in his way. Then there was a daisy chain of Necklocks along a pathway. The match went over to the trampoline area where everyone got on swings and tried to swing into each other. Takagi was thrown into a night covered in lights and acted like he was caught in a barbed wire explosion blast. Tetsuya Endo Moonsaulted off of a vending machine. Then he was run over by the car driven by Sakaguchi. Konosuke Takeshita found a baseball bat covered in lights and swung it at Takagi. The match eventually found its way back to the ring and HARASHIMA pinned Hiroshi Fukuda with the Somato to win.

Super Sasadango Machine presented his thesis on “The Creation Of Mutual Benefit In Professional Wrestling And Illumination” before the DDT Extreme Title match. He then faced Shigehiro Irie in an Illumination Match. As daylight went away the lights in the area would switch on. Sasadango was hoping that the pretty lights would distract Irie so he could hit the Lehmann Shock three times, enough to beat anyone. In order to do this he had possession of three Illumination Cards that would activate Royale Mode and switch on the lights. The plan surprisingly worked and Sasadango pinned Irie after the third Lehmann Shock. The champion admitted he thought he was going to die and he wanted to turn down his next title defence scheduled for 24th April. Kazuki Hirata came down on a segway and challenged Sasadango for the title.

Kouki Iwasaki took the Right To Challenge contract from Tomomitsu Matsunaga by pinning him in the opener.

1. Falls Count Anywhere Match: Cherry & Misaki Ohata defeated Hiroshi Fukuda & Ryu Gouma when Cherry pinned Gouma with the Spring Night Love in the sea (12:01).
2. 4 Way Falls Count Anywhere Match: Isami Kodaka defeated Shuji Ishikawa, Daichi Kazato and Mitomi Masayuki when Kodaka submitted Masayuki with a Manjigatame on some rocks (38:47).

Union set up a trip to the beach for some wrestling and barbecue out in the sun. Both matches took place on mats but eventually spread out along the beach and into the sea.

The main event featured water guns, buckets, fire crackers and an inflatable killer whale used as weapons. Daichi Kazato also found a large balance ball and held on to it when he dove onto Isami Kodaka. Kodaka rolled out of the way and Kazato bounced off the ball when hit the sand. Kodaka and Kazato soon found themselves stranded together on a rock off the coast. Kodaka put Kazato in the Manjigatame and submitted him on the rocks.

The first match had a change in teams when Cherry & Misaki Ohata asked not to team with either Hiroshi Fukuda or Ryu Gouma. They weren’t afraid to use sand, seaweed and plastic swords to get the advantage. Cherry was able to pin Gouma with the Spring Night Love in the sea, submerging his head under the water in the process.

Falls Count Anywhere 3 Way 6-Person Tag Match: Danshoku Dino, Makoto Oishi & Hyper Misao defeated Sanshiro Takagi, Kazuki Hirata & Saki Akai and Antonio Honda, Tomomitsu Matsunaga & Nonoko when Dino pinned Hirata with the Danshoku Driver onto a table (27:00).

DDT returned to the HandMade In Japan Festival for their annual Falls Count Anywhere match for the event. Before the match began Amon Tsurumi went over the rules. If a wrestler broke any of the products on display in the area, they would have to pay for it. Each of the wrestlers entered the stage wearing handmade masks created by sellers at the event.

Kazuki Hirata’s dance was interrupted by the match starting on the stage. Hyper Misao dove off the stage onto some of her opponents on the ground below. Sanshiro Takagi brought out the Dramatic Dream combat bicycle and Lariated Tomomitsu Matsunaga as he cycled past him. Danshoku Dino brought out a giant hammer and swung wild with it. The match travelled into indoors and Dino reminded everyone to be careful around the trade hall. He and Makoto Oishi bought some smartphone covers and wore them on their hands. Takagi and Antonio Honda bought some t-shirts while Saki Akai found a massive mecha fist. She used it to rocket punch everyone. Back at the outdoor stage Honda did some Bionic Elbows and yelled “Dusty!” during each one. Nonoko joined in but she yelled “Busty!” instead. Everyone fought over the HIRATA GO! glasses and the defeated were thrown into Dino’s ass on a ladder. After that Dino and Hirata were the last left standing and Dino put Hirata through a table with the Danshoku Driver for the win.

After the match Dino told the crowd their is no destruction without creation. He noted there was not as much destruction as last year’s match but they were still able to create. He then spoke of a girl who saw last year’s match and afterwards wanted to be a pro wrestler. That girl is now Hyper Misao. She confirmed the story and started to cry. She came all the way from Gotham City in northern Kanto to visit the event and enjoyed what she saw from DDT. Today was also her first victory which makes the match even more memorable for her.

4 Way Tag Team Match: HARASHIMA & Yasu Urano defeated Sanshiro Takagi & Kazuki Hirata, Shigehiro Irie & Soma Takao and Konosuke Takeshita & Hiroshi Fukuda when HARASHIMA pinned Hirata with the Somato (37:15).

takagi-takeshita-stroll

A rainy morning in Shizuoka couldn’t dampen the plans DDT had today. Their latest Street Wrestling match took place inside Izu Oceanic Park, a fitting location for the summer. All eight wrestlers came prepared but not all for wrestling. Shigehiro Irie wore a life jacket and brought an inflatable swimming ring for the beach. Some of the others brought along water guns. Yukinori Matsui had a GoPro strapped to his chest to record the action wherever it went even underwater.

surfboard-by-the-sea

When the match began inside the area designated to be the “ring” Sanshiro Takagi and Konosuke Takeshita immediately decided to direct the fighting away from it. They all fought along the beach which was the perfect location for HARASHIMA to put Kazuki Hirata into the Surfboard submission hold. Takagi slipped in between them for a sneaky pin but only got a two count. Amon Tsurumi somehow got in the mix and had his glasses knocked into the sea.

Everyone went away from the sea over to the rocks. HARASHIMA & Yasu Urano found a large log and placed it on top of Hirata to pin him against the rocks. Nearby there was a pool with a waterslide. HARASHIMA used it to slide down and kick Hiroshi Fukuda in the water. All of a sudden Takagi summoned a man in a gold diving suit calling himself Poseidon to attack HARASHIMA. The plan backfired and afterwards HARASHIMA focused his attention on Takeshita. The two swapped Cobra Twists on top of a boulder and then a Suplex sent both of them into the water below.

Takagi went to Plan B and sprayed everyone with a hose. At this point Amon’s glasses were finally found and he made his way to another swimming pool. Takagi had now brought in fireworks but Takeshita fought back with a water gun. All of a sudden Hirata convinced everyone to stop fighting and instead have a swimming race in the pool. Everyone lined up in their lanes and Amon gave them the signal to go. Hirata won the race but his victory interview was cut short when Soma Takao kicked him back into the pool. HARASHIMA pushed Takao into the pool but Irie then charged in and tackled HARASHIMA off the ledge. Takeshita and Yasu Urano fought back and forth but Takeshita got the upper hand and German Suplexed Urano into the water!

dramatic-dream-splash

If that wasn’t enough Takagi returned with the Dramatic Dream combat bicycle! He charged towards the pool aiming to launch the bike into his opponents. He instead just dropped right into the water. Hirata got on an inflatable boat and was ready to dance for everyone. HARASHIMA put a stop to that by running off the platform and hitting Hirata with the Somato. HARASHIMA then pinned Hirata in the water.

somato-boat

Everyone celebrated their second successful street wrestling match inside an Izu Park this year, the first one taking place at Izu Granpal Park back in April. Takagi wondered if a third match should happen. That’s when he found out there is a Izu Cactus Park! A nervous HARASHIMA reminded Takagi that thorns are dangerous.

4 Way Tag Match: Sanshiro Takagi & Jun Kasai defeated Kota Ibushi & Daisuke Sasaki, Danshoku Dino & Saki Akai and Gota Ihashi & Suguru Miyatake when Kasai pinned Ihashi with the Pearl Harbour Splash from a 110m long slide through a table (1:05:31).

izuguranparu1

Izuguranparu Park is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and DDT did its part by holding a street wrestling match there. This was the largest area for a match DDT has ever wrestled in. Sanshiro Takagi claimed that 220,000 square metres of land was the maximum range they could fight in. The match begun in a small square acting as a makeshift ring. Takagi came out with a guitar and Gota Ihashi was armed with a steel basin. Danshoku Dino was not acting like a Buddhist pilgrim and was back to his normal self just for today. Jun Kasai was jealous of the crowd support for Saki Akai and stomped on a fan’s sign that was made for Akai.

izuguranparu2

Obviously the match could never be contained in the square and the action quickly spread across the park. They reached the adventure park where there was nets, swings and a low zipline for everyone to do moves from. Next up was a public restroom where everyone took a quick toilet break. After that they found a go kart track and had an imprompty race. Takagi & Kasai came first and afterwards they tried to run over everyone else.

izuguranparu3

The match travelled over to River Island where there was a water slide for the wrestlers to dunk each other in. Daisuke Sasaki was dunked the most. Takagi returned with the Combat Bicycle and easily beat Kota Ibushi on a small Ladybug Bike. Unfortunately Takagi then crashed straight into Kasai on another Ladybug Bike. Dino then threw Takagi into a castle of chairs that was set up nearby.

izuguranparu4

Ibushi found the trampoline play area and immediately jumped in. He bounced Suguru Miyatake with the Sit Down Power Bomb and then did a Bouncing Phoenix Splash onto Ihashi. Elsewhere Kasai and Sasaki found a shooting gallery and had a duel with cork guns. Kasai tried to take a female fan hostage with his cork gun. Ibushi with the help of Dino stuck a cork gun up Ihashi’s backside. Dino then stuck the same cork gun up Takagi’s nose.

izuguranparu5

When that was done all eight wrestlers went to a lake where there was floating water spheres for them to enter. Sasaki put Miyatake in the Cross Facelock inside one of the spheres. Apparantly Miyatake gave up but Yukinori Matsui was outside the sphere and couldn’t hear him.

izuguranparu6

As the match length was heading towards one hour the match moved over to its final location, the 110m long Super Slide! Makoto Oishi was there and he held Ihashi in place at the bottom as wrestler after wrestler plunged down the slide to Dropkick him. Dino was the last one and he intentionally crotched himself on Ihashi.

izuguranparu7

There was also a zipline next to the slide and Miyatake used it to slam himself into his opponents until Takagi sprayed him with a hydrant of carbon dioxide gas. With an opportunity to win the match presenting itself, Takagi found a table and placed Ihashi on top of it while Kasai climbed up the slide. Kasai positioned himself over Ihashi and hit the Pearl Harbour Splash from the slide through the table!

izuguranparu8

After the match Kasai told Takagi that while the height of his jump was no big deal, the table was still positioned too close to the slide and could have been very dangerous. Kasai has a policy to think before he dives. Takagi apologised. Everyone then went back to the starting area where they met the president of the park and also held a Q&A session for the fans.

4 Way Tag Team Match: KUDO & Gota Ihashi (w/ Akira Shoji) defeated Kota Ibushi & Daisuke Sasaki, Sanshiro Takagi & Jun Kasai and Choun-Shiryu & Cao Zhang when Ihashi pinned Shiryu with a Diving Body Press from a ladder through a table (13:07).

Take that attendence number with a grain of salt. I think that’s the attendance of the Tokyo Ramen Show in general.

DDT was at the Tokyo Ramen Show to not only host a Falls Count Anywhere match, but to also promote their Ebisuko curry restaurant. DDT collaborated with former Pride FC fighter Akira Shoji to promote their chicken crab ramen special.

Choun-Shiryu & Cao Zhang were insulted by the food on offer and said when they win they will take over Ebisuko and everyone will be eating Beijing ramen instead. The match while short contained a table, ladder, fire extinguisher, Tonkachi and the Combat Bicycle. Jun Kasai was moments away from putting Shiryu through the table with the Pearl Harbour Splash from the ladder but Cao Zhang stopped him with the Tonkachi. Shiryu gave Ihashi the Chinese Gory Bomb but Akira Shoji came to the rescue! Shoji knocked out Shiryu and placed him on the table. Ihashi then leapt from the ladder and put Shiryu through the table for the 3 count. KUDO thanked Shoji for helping them protect Ebisuko. They then promoted their ramen again.
