1. Antonio Honda, Daisuke Sasaki & Hoshitango defeated MIKAMI, Makoto Oishi & Kijimuna when Hoshitango pinned Oishi with the Imachi Drop (12:26).
2. Hikaru Sato & Tomomitsu Matsunaga defeated Akito & Daichi Kazato when Sato submitted Kazato with a Reverse Armbreaker (9:57).
3. Yuji Hino defeated Tetsuya Endo with the Sergeant Firing (9:11).
4. Michael Nakazawa Soaring Stock Market Research: Toru Owashi & DJ Nira defeated Danshoku Dino & Michael Nakazawa when Owashi pinned Nakazawa with the Nodowa Otoshi (10:06).
5. Teach Me What I Am Missing: Sanshiro Takagi defeated Keisuke Ishii with the Sit Down Himawari Bomb (9:31).
6. Masa Takanashi defeated Konosuke Takeshita with the Doburoku (15:38).
7. 3 Way Tag Team Match: Shigehiro Irie & Takao Soma defeated Yasu Urano & KUDO and Kota Ibushi & Gota Ihashi when Irie pinned Ihashi with the Flying Sausage (14:32).

Despite winning the main event and riding a wave of momentum, Shigehiro Irie admitted he is afraid he might lose his KO-D Openweight Title match against Kenny Omega on 20th March. A reinvigorated Keisuke Ishii (as explained below) slapped Irie and told him he is one step away from being the champion of DDT, he is strong and he will have Ishii & Takao Soma cheering for him at full force. Motivated, Irie vowed to become champion.

Masa Takanashi has a new flash pin to beware of. The Doburoku is a modified Kido Clutch named after an alcoholic beverage that Masa no doubt enjoys.

Kizaemon Saiga attended the show and provided a brief demonstration of his abilities inside the ring to promote his DDT debut on 20th March. Saiga said that when he was fighting in K-1, he thought it was cool to watch Kota Ibushi wrestling and wanted to try it himself.

Keisuke Ishii and Sanshiro Takagi had a brawl that stretched outside to the Yokohama street. Takagi attempted to drag Ishii in a Headlock over to a nearby radio station but the fight returned to the ring instead. Ishii was on the verge of victory when Takagi told him the important piece of advice he so desperately wanted was on the wall behind him. Takagi used the distraction to take control and win the match. Conceding defeat, Ishii begged Takagi to tell him what he was missing to become the perfect wrestler. Takagi told him that no wrestler is perfect. He told Ishii that before he was obsessed with becoming perfect, he was holding the DDT Extreme and KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles at the same time. He then lost the titles when he lost faith in himself. His advice to Ishii was to always hang in there ahead of the competition. However, Tsurumi Amon stepped in and told Ishii there actually was something important he and also Takagi should learn. But just when he was about to say it, Takagi was suddenly shot in the neck with a poisoned dart. Then Tsurumi was shot with a dart. Then the referee, then the ring announcer, then the video crew and so on until Keisuke Ishii was the only concious person left inside the ring. Ishii finally gave up and said he will believe in the best of his abilities from now on.

Danshoku Dino warned Toru Owashi & DJ Nira that Michael Nakazawa had become stronger thanks to his Last Man Standing match with Kenny Omega during the week. Dino was so confident in Nakazawa that he made him wrestle most of the match despite the fact that Michael had not fully recovered. Michael was not motivated to wrestle until Okinawa Pro wrestler Kijimuna appeared and said how much he admired him. Nakazawa fired himself up and cleared house but Owashi no sold his Ultimate Venom Arm and wiped him out with a Choke Slam.

Yukio Sakaguchi had to miss the show due to a suspected rubella illness. Daichi Kazato took his place in Match #2

Antonio Honda talked about Michael Jackson’s autobiography before the opening match for some reason. Why not?

*V1 for Shuji Ishikawa.

The polls were open for the DDT48 General Election 2012 with the fans in attendance already giving their votes for who they want to win the annual event.

Tsurumi Amon invited the DDT roster to the ring at the start of the show. He congratulated all of them on a job well done for the 15th Anniversary Show in Budokan Hall. He then said that DDT must continue to change and announced that all stables must disband and be replaced with new ones. The groups have until 19th September to split up and the new units must be created by 30th September. The response from all the wrestlers was negative. Makoto Oishi said that Homoiro Clover Z was approaching its one year anniverary while Masa Takanashi said he only just formed La Familia. Sanshiro Takagi went too far and called Amon a motherfucker. As punishment, Amon turned Takagi’s match with Yuji Hino later that night into a Falls Count Anywhere match. Takagi swore that the nWJ will not disband.

Amon then got the new group process rolling by creating a new stable of his own called the Tehajimeni Shinitai Tsurumi, or TST for short. He asked if anyone wanted to join but got no response. Amon thought the many wrestlers who want to join his awesome new group were feeling shy. So he decided to turn around and close his eyes. If anyone wanted to join him, they would stay inside the ring when he turned back around and opened his eyes. He did just that and when he looked back he found himself alone in the ring.

The first real formation of a new stable did take place at the end of the show when Shuji Ishikawa defeated Shigehiro Irie in a DDT Extreme Title match. Right after Shuji told Irie that he will never lose to him, Keisuke Ishii ran into the ring and struck Ishikawa with the Kneel Kick. Ishii asked Irie how long has he been under Ishikawa’s wing. He also asked Takao Soma how long he has been Sanshiro Takagi’s sidekick. It was now time for them to rise and take over. Ishii called out DDT’s established wrestlers and said he was going to pick a fight with all of them plus Union too. Irie cemented his decision to join Ishii by headbutting Ishikawa. He then said “My friends have increased a lot. I’m glad.” Soma told Takagi the nWJ was disbanding as of today. While this new unit does not have a name yet, it is clear that Ishii, Soma and Irie have declared war on the DDT veterans!

The DDT Extreme Title was defended in a normal match with no extra rules added. However, Shuji Ishikawa brought a chair into the ring and dared Shigehiro Irie into a game of Rock-Paper-Scissors to decide who gets to use a free chair shot. Shuji won.

If my translation is correct, DJ Nira performed a Rainmaker version of the Rocket Punch. That alone is enough of a reason why Nira deserved to beat Danshoku Dino.

HARASHIMA and last year’s DDT48 winner Hikaru Sato are certain to win some new votes with a victory over Kota Ibushi & Daisuke Sasaki.

In the Falls Count Anywhere match, Takagi kept shouting “Tokyo Dome!” whenever he chopped Yuji Hino. Whenever Hino chopped Takagi back, Hino shouted out “Korakuen Hall!” The match turned out to be mayhem with the two brawling all over the hall. Takagi would not shut up screaming “Tokyo Dome” and eventually told Yuji “Do not give up your dreams!” The match reached its time limit right when Hino was about to give Takagi the F****’N Bomb onto a table. Takagi got on Hino’s good side when he said Hino could meet Mariko Shinoda from AKB48 at the Tokyo Dome. Hino thought about it, sat down with Takagi next to the table he was about to break and shook hands with him.

The Let’s Go 30’s! team of Antonio Honda & Yasu Urano became the No. 1 Contender’s for the KO-D Tag Team Titles by winning the 3 Way Tag match. After the match, Honda spoke about having a sense of respect for wrestling, that he has the spirit to win and how he will protect wrestling because he loves it dearly. Yasu Urano said him versus MIKAMI is not interesting but Honda versus Tatsumi Fujinami has him excited. Honda said he has been studying Fujinami ever since Fujinami fought Antonio Inoki in Yokohama many years ago. Honda learned how Inoki targeted Fujinami’s medulla oblongata and he will do the same.

Yoshihiko (currently wrestling as E. YOSHIHIKO, I don’t know what the E stands for yet) must have had a secret training camp with a certain NOAH wrestler because he pulled out the Shiranui Kai on route to beating MIKAMI.

During the handicap match, Michael Nakazawa referred to Mio Shirai as “Tits Bastard!” Mio responded by calling Michael a “flat chested bastard!”

Cherry is really starting to embrace being 38 years old. She has now named a bunch of moves after her age such as the Thirty Eight Punch, the Thirty Eight Kick and the Thirty Eight Crusher.

Tetsuya Endo & Konosuke Takeshita got a surprising win over the more experienced Hiroshi Fukuda and Taichi Kazato. Fukuda brought in a tambourine to use as a weapon but accidentaly hit his partner with it instead, leading to their defeat.

The Furious Battle Royal was constantly interrupted with song and dance numbers by Saint Rion and the Homoiro Clover Z wrestlers. Tomomitsu Matsnaga looked like he was about to win when the bell rang and the match was declared a no contest.

5. AJPW Jr. Heavyweight Title: Kenny Omega (c) Vs Shigehiro Irie
6. KO-D Openweight Title: Danshoku Dino (c) Vs Sanshiro Takagi

DDT held a weigh in for Shigehiro Irie that would decide whether or not he would qualify for an AJPW Jr. Heavyweight Title shot against Kenny Omega on Sunday. The weigh in was open to the wrestling media to avoid any suspicious results. However, when it was time for Irie to step on the scales he weighed in at 107kg! He was weighed again and the result was the same. They weighed him one more time and this time he came in at 101kg. I don’t know how Irie suddenly dropped 6kg but he is now officially eligable for the title shot.

Irie said he was happy to finally qualify for the title shot. Omega said that he wants the match to show the future of DDT. He thinks Irie will become the ace of DDT in the future but he is not the ace right now. When a reporter asked Irie how he lost all of the weight, Irie said he didn’t eat any rice for weeks. When asked if he is worried about losing strength due to the weight loss, Irie simply said “I’m happy.” Kenny was then asked to compare Irie with his previous challenger Shuji Kondo. Kenny said they are completely different. He will fight fair with Irie because DDT is family.

7. DDT Extreme Title – TLC (Tonkachi, Ladders & Chairs): El Generico (c) Vs Isami Kodaka

Union held its latest press conference in Shinjuku’s Dropkick Bar today to announce more news and matches for their big 3rd January show at Korakuen Hall. The conference began with Naomi Susan being joined by Isami Kodaka. Naomi told everyone she received an e-mail from El Generico about how he just defended the DDT Extreme Championship in Hawaii. Generico also said in the e-mail that he wanted his match against Kodaka to be fought under TLC rules. In this case the T in TLC does not stand for tables, but for Tonkachi which is a giant hammer previously used in Union by Chinese wrestler Cao Zhang. Isami said he wanted to win the belt back at any cost and accepted the TLC match.

After Kodaka’s portion was finished, the conference moved onto the new team of Shuji Ishikawa & Shigehiro Irie, together now known as BIG “G” BANG. The name is taken from a South Korean boy band for some reason.* It was then announced that Shuji & Irie will face Daisuke Sekimoto & Kazuki Hashimoto from Big Japan on 3rd January. Shuji & Daisuke are definitly no strangers to each other. It was Sekimoto who defeated Ishikawa to win the KO-D Openweight Title back in 2010. Irie described Sekimoto as being as strong as a gorilla. He compared his own strength to a dangerous bear that could kill a hippopotamus. Irie then said that hippos kill more people in Africa than any other animal, so that makes him very dangerous.

The Union show will be the second wrestling show taking place in Korakuen Hall on the 3rd. All Japan will have a show taking place earlier in the day with Kenny Omega defending the AJPW Jr. Heavyweight Title against Hiroshi Yamato in the semi-main. The Union show might be the fifth match Daisuke Sekimoto will have in Korakuen Hall in 3 days. He’s wrestling for ZERO-1 on the 1st, Big Japan & All Japan in the 2nd and finally All Japan and Union on the 3rd, all shows taking place in Korakuen. Crazy.

*Anyone else notice DDT’s trend of naming groups after musical acts lately?

8. KO-D Openweight Title: Shuji Ishikawa (c) Vs KUDO

The main event of this week’s Monthly Young Communication event had Keisuke Ishii and Shigehiro Irie fight to a 20 minute draw. A rivalry has been building up between the two top prospects from the newest generation of DDT and Union wrestlers so when their most recent battle ended in a stalemate, they both requested a rematch. Tsurumi Amon complied and made the match for 24/07 at Sumo Hall.

So far 12 competitors have been added to the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title Battle Royal. Antonio Honda is currently the champion but there is no doubt the title will change hands numerous times before we get to Sumo Hall. Expect more entries to appear in the match as well. This will also be Makoto Oishi’s first match back since his injury from last month put him on the sidelines..

An election has taken place to determine the lucky man who will participate in the Anal Blast opening ceremony. Three names have been put forward: Michael Nakazawa (nominated by himself), Batten Tamagawa (nominated by Sanshiro Takagi) and Tanomusaku Toba (nominated by Danshoku Dino). *GENTARO & Yasu Urano fail in V4. Shigehiro Irie & Munenori Sawa become the 35th Champions!
6. Dick Togo & HARASHIMA defeated Danshoku Dino & KUDO when Togo pinned Dino with the Danshoku Diving Senton (19:06).

Dick Togo had to turn Danshoku in order to defeat Danshoku Dino in the main event. He didn’t go as far as to kiss Dino, but he did give him a Danshoku Pedigree and finished the match with a Danshoku version of the Diving Senton.

Shigehiro Irie cements his breakthrough status by winning the KO-D Tag Team Championships with Munenori Sawa. I believe this is the first championship of his career. Sawa is now a double champion in the TKG48, also holding the Big China Tag Titles with Sanshiro Takagi.

Antonio Honda prevented Michael Nakazawa from earning his reward from Tsurumi Amon. Instead Honda was given the prize for winning the match. On 12th June at Hakata Star Lanes, Antonio Honda & Daisuke Sasaki will team up to take on Kenny Omega and a mystery partner in a No. 1 Contender’s match for the KO-D Tag Team Titles.

Keisuke Ishii has gotten into Takao Soma’s head by beating him in the Six-Men Tag before their match on 12th June. The upcoming match has been made more interesting as Takao Soma’s “Anytime And Anywhere” KO-D Openweight Title shot will be on the line in the match.

After MIKAMI won the Triple Threat match, he was challenged by HERO! to a singles bout sometime in the future.

5. Sanshiro Takagi & Shigehiro Irie defeated Shuji Ishikawa & Seiya Morohashi when Irie pinned Morohashi with the Vertical Drop Back Flip (17:21).

As part of joining Union on a full-time basis, Sanshiro Takagi has formed his own faction called TKG48. So far Shigehiro Irie and DJ Nira are members along with Takagi. At the end of the show Takagi introduced the fourth member…Muneneori Sawa!

Shigehiro Irie was full of confidence after getting the pinfall in the main event. He recalled losing a match to Shuji Ishikawa over a year ago and challenged him to a rematch in his hometown of Nagoya on 16th January.

The rules for Match #2 had the person getting the pinfall needing to drink an ashtry full of tequila in under five seconds in order to win the match. Everyone involved got a pin at one point or another but Choun Shiryu was the only one to drink the ashtray in one go. After the match, Choun told Union representative Naomi Susan that the promotion has a following in China and that he invited a student of his to come to Japan and try out for Union.

El Generico was announced to appear on Union’s 3rd January show at Korakuen Hall. He will be having a match against the debuting Shinichiro Tominaga.
