3. King Of DDT 2017 – Semi Final: Tetsuya Endo defeated Akito with a Roll Up (11:30).
4. KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles: KUDO, Yukio Sakaguchi & Masahiro Takanashi defeated Makoto Oishi, Shunma Katsumata & MAO (c) when Takanashi pinned Oishi with the Takatonic (7:12).
*NωA fails in V4. Shuten-dōji becomes the 30th KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Champions!
5. Pro Wrestling Version Of “Honnō-ji Incident” 1 Vs 3 Handicap Match: Sanshiro Takagi defeated Danshoku Dino, Super Sasadango Machine & Ken Ohka when Takagi pinned Machine with the Sit Down Himawari Bomb (7:50).
6. Kaz Hayashi & Keisuke Ishii defeated Daisuke Sasaki & Mad Paulie when Ishii pinned Paulie with the Kneel Kick (11:10).
*Keisuke Ishii wins Mad Paulie’s Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Contract.
7. Mike Bailey & Kazusada Higuchi defeated Konosuke Takeshita & Diego when Bailey pinned Diego after the Ultima Weapon and Canadian Backbreaker Combo (12:02).
8. King Of DDT 2017 – Final: Tetsuya Endo defeated HARASHIMA with the Shooting Star Press (22:08).

Tetsuya Endo is the 2017 King Of DDT winner! His knees are probably killing him after today’s show but it was worth it. Endo defeated HARASHIMA in the final, overcoming the odds against a fresher and more experienced opponent after the semi-finals. Endo’s knees were not in 100% condition when the main event began so they were the target of HARASHIMA’s offence. Despite the disadvantage, Endo still pulled out his big moves. He prevented HARASHIMA from hitting the Firebird Splash so he could do Tetsuya In The Sky With Diamonds instead. He later put all his might into the Torture Rack Bomb. That placed HARASHIMA in the perfect position for the match winning Shooting Star Press.

Endo was rewarded with a 1,000,000 yen prize as well as the main event spot for “RYOGOKU PETER PAN 2017” in August. Daisuke Sasaki puts his faith in Endo to win the KO-D Openweight Title at that show. Sasaki said he lives his life thinking he could die at anytime but he swears he won’t die until Endo wins the title at Sumo Hall! The crowd chanted Endo’s name and he tried to shrug them off. He claims he is not interested in main eventing Sumo Hall and winning the KO-D Title there. But he then reconsidered his opinion. He’s been through a lot this year so he realises that he can’t complain about the opportunity. He’ll main event Sumo Hall after all!

The reason Endo went into the final with bad knees is all because of Akito. They fought in the semi-final where Akito used his arsenal of submissions to wear down Endo’s legs. Things looked bad for Endo when he missed a Swan Dive Kneel Kick and fell into an Anklelock. Akito then turned it into a Figure 4 Leg Lock with the intent of turning it into his Perfect version of the move. Endo fought his way on top of Akito and suddenly pinned him for the surprise three count. Akito said in his post match interview that he never expected the match to end that way. He realises that only focusing on Akito’s legs could have been a mistake. On the other hand, Akito also wonders that maybe Endo is just the better wrestler and is good enough to become the ace of DDT.

The other semi-final was a highly anticipated match between HARASHIMA and Shigehiro Irie. The two are no strangers to each other, having had five singles matches previously. HARASHIMA had won every single bout so Irie went in determined to finally beat his rival. Shockingly, HARASHIMA pinned Irie in under three minutes with a Crucifix Pin! In a flashback to their match from Christmas Day last year, Irie tried to Power Bomb HARASHIMA onto the apron. HARASHIMA avoided that and brought the match back into the ring where they rushed into a wild series of missed Enzuigiris and Beast Bombers. After that HARASHIMA hooked Irie into the Crucifix Pin and to the surprise of everyone that was enough. Irie knew what had happened and immediately left the ring in anger.

Mike Bailey is becoming ever more smug in his attempts to show sportsmanship to Konosuke Takeshita. He enthusiastically applauded Takeshita during their tag match. Then after he knocked out Diego, Bailey taunted Takeshita by dragging Diego over and pretending he was trying to tag out. Takeshita was left fighting a 2-on-1 disadvantage until Diego recovered. Unfortunately Diego was put away with a painful combination of the Canadian Backbreaker from Kazusada Higuchi followed by the Ultima Weapon by Bailey while Diego was still held in the air.

A happy Bailey told Takeshita after the match that he wants to fight him every week, even if he was the eternal challenger and Takeshita was the eternal champion. But Bailey then said he will win their KO-D Title match in Shinjuku so maybe that means he will be the eternal champion and Takeshita the eternal challenger instead. Takeshita saw the funny side and joked with Bailey until Keisuke Ishii stepped into the ring with his newly won Right To Challenge Contract. Ishii said he will cash in his title shot on 23rd July, a show that takes place weeks after Takeshita Vs Bailey. Ishii stared at Takeshita until Bailey stepped right up to his face. Takeshita got both of their attention by saying today’s main event will determine one half of the Sumo Hall main event. He will be standing on the other side of the ring as the champion and neither Bailey, Ishii or Naomi Yoshimura will stop him!

Keisuke Ishii is back on track and he has Kaz Hayashi to thank for that. The two defeated DAMNATION with Ishii pinning Mad Paulie. As a bonus, Ishii now has a Right To Challenge contract and as mentioned above, he was quick to decide when to use it. Hayashi noticed that Ishii used the Final Cut during the match. He’s alright with Ishii borrowing the move but he should practice it with him first so it can be done better.

The trio of Danshoku Dino, Super Sasadango Machine and Ken Ohka sent a threatening video to Sanshiro Takagi before their 3 Vs 1 match. Dino warned Takagi that Ohka isn’t the only person in the company who holds a grudge against him, there are more who will betray him tonight! Ohka wants to tell Takagi what he thinks of him but instead he will let the hat on his head say it. He then showed off a baseball cap on his head with the word “FUCK” written on it. When the match began Takagi had little trouble fighting off his three opponents. But when he ran to the ropes the first betrayal happened. Hirata Collection A.T. tripped Takagi, gave him the middle fingers then began stomping on him. Ohka missed a Spear which allowed Takagi to fight back and give Hirata the Stunner. Takagi pinned Sasadango after the Spicolli Driver but Yukinori Matsui stopped counting after two. Matsui was the next betrayer! Takagi gave him a Stunner then tried to pin Dino. Daisuke Kiso ran down and counted but he also stopped at two. He is also betraying Takagi! So Takagi gave him a Stunner too. Amon Tsurumi ran down to the ring and put on a referee shirt after Takagi gave Sasadango an Avalanche Brainbuster. But he too betrayed Takagi! He survived a Stunner when his afro slipped off but Takagi then gave him a Death Valley Bomb onto Sasadango. More trouble came when Toru Owashi ran in wearing a referee shirt that was too small for him. He briefly paused the pin count but it turned out he was on Takagi’s side and he counted to three.

Takagi won the match to put an end to Ohka’s attempted coup d’etat but he has a coup d’etat of his own to do. He wants a singles match with Dino and he wants it in Korakuen Hall next month. Dino objected. This year is DDT’s 20th year in existence. If a coup of this size is going to happen it should happen on the big stage. Dino Vs Takagi should happen at Sumo Hall! Takagi hesitated to accept the challenge. He said he tries to avoid putting himself in the major singles matches at DDT’s big events. Dino said that he’s been preparing for this match for a long time. Takagi said he’s been prepared for the last 20 years. He accepts the match. Takagi Vs Dino at Sumo Hall to celebrate 20 years of DDT!

The CD release of NωA’s new single is coming out at a bad time because they just lost the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles to Shuten-dōji. KUDO knocked down Makoto Oishi with a Backspin Kick, Yukio Sakaguchi hit an Apron PK to the other NωA members and Masahiro Takanashi gave Oishi the Takatonic to win the belts. NωA are trying to stay positive and hope success at the NOAH Jr. Tag League will see an increase in autographs and CD sales. Meanwhile Shuten-dōji already found out what their plans for Sumo Hall is. They will defend the titles against Dick Togo, Yasu Urano & Antonio Honda!

The opening match was The Rockies Vs The Italians, except Soma Takao wanted nothing to do with Hirata Collection A.T.’s shenanigans. Toru Owashi however came out wearing Collection gear and carrying a toy pig on a leash. He looked just as surprised as everyone else. The Rockies all came out wearing boxing gloves and humming along to the Rocky song. Antonio Honda said he spent all night drinking raw eggs then tried to eye poke his opponents. It didn’t work because of the gloves. Honda later intercepted Hirata’s glasses. The Rocky theme played proper when he put them on. The music boost was powerful enough for The Rockies to win the match. Rocky Kawamura yelled “Adrian!” to celebrate.

Both Tomomitsu Matsunaga and Danny Duggan had the back of their wrestling tights pulled down during the dark match. Both of them continued to wrestle with their backsides exposed.

Takaeshita was supposed to start off the show’s opening call but he was interrupted by Naomi Yoshimura. Of course he ran down all of his life problems which he blames Takeshita for then began the next chapter of his story. After his grandmother was arrested and his favourite restaurant had closed down, Yoshimura was alone in the world with absolutely nothing in his possession. Life was so bad he had to resort to thievery everyday. This continued until one day Yoshimura walked past a muscular man carrying a bag of money. He grabbed the bag off of him and ran as fast as he could. He thought he would escape until he saw someone standing ahead of him at the intersection. It was Konosuke Takeshita! Yoshimura was so surprised and enraged at the sight of Takeshita that he stopped in his tracks. The police chasing after him then caught him. Yoshimura thought his life was over until a voice from behind told the police to let him go if he gave back the bag. Yoshimura looked over and saw that the muscular man showing him mercy was Zeus! From that day onwards, Yoshimura trained hard at KING GYM so he could follow Zeus’s path and become a pro wrestler. Zeus, this god-like being, gave Yoshimura’s life meaning while all Takeshita had done was take everything away from him. Not only will he use his Right To Challenge contract to take the KO-D Title away from Takeshita, he will also take everything Takeshita values one by one. First up, the show opening call! Yoshimura smugly yelled “DDT Korakuen Tournament Start!” into the microphone. Takeshita tried asking Yoshimura when he was going to cash in his title shot but his microphone cut off so the intro video could be played.

Two new DNA trainees were introduced. Masato Kamino is 23 years old and from the Nara Prefecture. He is 175cm high, weighs 82kg and trained as a swimmer for 15 years. He will debut in Shinjuku on 5th August. He originally began training at the same time as MAO but an injury held him back. Kamino had considered transitioning into a ring announcing job instead but was determined to debut as a wrestler. Yuki Ino is 22 years old and from Tokyo. He is 178cm high, weighs 120kg and played rugby in Kokushikan University. He had several offers from other sports teams but DDT became interested when they heard he could bench press 205kg, dead lift 300kg and leg press 560kg. Ino said when he played rugby he blew past every opponent that was in front of his eyes. He would like to do the same to all of the best wrestlers. His goal is to win the KO-D Title. He will debut at Sumo Hall.

The show began with a 10 bell tribute to Mr. Pogo who passed away on 23rd June. Pogo once appeared at a DDT Street Wrestling show held in an iron factory back in 2014. He had also made appearances for Union Pro in 2006.

LiLiCo will return to DDT at “RYOGOKU PETER PAN 2017”.

DDT will return to the Delicious Sacas Festival in July for a week long series of free shows. This year’s festival takes place from 24th to 30th July

Dave Crist from Rockstar Pro Wrestling in Ohio, USA will be a part of the Beer Garden shows in August. Irie became good friends with Crist during his American excursions. Irie’s “Space Panda” aesthetic is a shoutout to Crist and his other Ohio buddies.

Rekka Vs MAO will be the main event of DDT’s return to Taiwan on 29th July.

6. Wrestling If You Do It Like This Matsuyama Special Tag Match: Shigehiro Irie & Mike Bailey defeated HARASHIMA & Soma Takao when Bailey pinned Takao with the Ultima Weapon (9:25).
7. ALL OUT Vs DAMNATION!: Konosuke Takeshita & Akito defeated Daisuke Sasaki & Tetsuya Endo when Akito submitted Endo with the Perfect Figure Four Leg Lock (16:46).

Akito sent a message loud and clear to his King Of DDT opponent Tetsuya Endo by making him submit to the Perfect Figure Four. The victory came when Akito avoided the Shooting Star Press. Afterwards he grabbed Endo in the Ankle Lock, shifted it into a Knee Crusher and then applied the Perfect Figure Four. Akito is acting humble after the result though. He thinks he is inferior to the other King Of DDT semi-finalists and has the least chance out of the four to win the tournament. But it seems that people like him can stand out in Sumo Hall. Perhaps an ALL OUT main event at Sumo Hall this August can be on the cards after all. Akito asked Konosuke Takeshita not to hate him if he becomes the next KO-D Openweight Champion because he wants to return to Matsuyama with the belt around his waist!

Hey, guess what? Naomi Yoshimura told everyone another tale of hardship in his life that is totally Takeshita’s fault. First his family fell apart, next his social life vanished and then his grandmother was arrested for shoplifting. Yoshimura was all alone. So to cheer himself up he went to his favourite restaurant to eat his favourite southern chicken barbecue meal. The food isn’t actually good but it always seemed to make him work harder when he ate it. But when he arrived he saw the restaurant had closed down. He asked the neighboring businesses what had happened and the answers made him angry. It turned out another high school student ate an oyster at the restaurant and it gave him food poisoning afterwards. The police had to close down the restaurant in order to investigate the incident. Who was the ill student? Konosuke Takeshita! Now Yoshimura can’t get his favourite southern chicken barbecue because Takeshita had to go get food poisoning from a fucking oyster! Yoshimura will use his Right To Challenge to ruin Takeshita’s life when the time is right.

The Ultima Weapon is Mike Bailey’s Shooting Star Double Knee Drop. What is it with Canadians and Final Fantasy in this company?

All hell broke loose after the Kazusada Higuchi Vs Yukio Sakaguchi match. Higuchi won the match by countering a Triangle Choke into a pinning Power Bomb. It turned out Sakaguchi was pinned because he refused to let go of the choke and kept squeezing until Higuchi fainted. When Higuchi was revived by Yukinori Matsui, Higuchi attacked Sakaguchi thinking the match was still going on. Matsui had to pull the two apart and told Higuchi he won. Both Higuchi and Sakaguchi still tried to start fighting again and had to be held back from each other. Backstage Higuchi said neither man won today. Sakaguchi was pinned but Higuchi lost consciousness. To him that is a loss. He promises next time he will absolutely beat Sakaguchi.

NωA are on shaky ground after losing to Shuten-dōji. The KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Champions are hoping to beat them in their upcoming title match so the unit can go into its first anniversary with the belts around their waists.

Mad Paulie dominated the 3 Way Match. He couldn’t be stopped even when his opponents Makoto Oishi and Diego formed a brief alliance against him. Paulie got Diego out of the ring, hit Oishi with a Lariat and pinned him with the Reverse Splash. Now Paulie has a Right To Challenge Contract in his possession.

7. Konosuke Takeshita, Akito & Diego defeated Mike Bailey, Keisuke Ishii & Kouki Iwasaki when Takeshita pinned Iwasaki with the German Suplex (12:22).

Konosuke Takeshita had some blunt words for Mike Bailey after the main event. Bailey is his next challenger but he will always just be a challenger. Takeshita will always be the champion!

The KO-D Tag Team Champions have now figured out their next title match is two YaroZ wrestlers against two BOYZ wrestlers. They hope this will result in an increase of women in the audience. Shigehiro Irie warns Shuten-dōji to be careful when they kick Kazusada Higuchi or else they will hurt their feet.

The Danshoku Nightmare VR continues to help rack up wins for Danshoku Dino. Unfortunately, Saki Akai accidentally fell victim to the move during the match even though she was Dino’s partner. But hey, a win’s a win.

Now it’s time for the latest story about why Naomi Yoshimura hates Konosuke Takeshita. Yoshimura had a grandmother who gave him treats whenever he visited her. The sweet buns, grilled chicken and candy she gave him is a reason why he grew so big. But soon she disappeared without a trace. Yoshimura thought she had died until he found out she was arrested for shoplifting. Who caught her shoplifting and reported her to the police? Takeshita! In his defence, Takeshita did the right thing and he wonders if Yoshimura is just living in a problematic environment. Yoshimura said that doesn’t matter. What does matter is when he cashes in his Right To Challenge contract.

Former MMA fighter and Hiroshima native Takeshi Okada announced he will be participating on DDT’s next show in the city on 20th November. Okada has been wrestling on the indie scene since 2015 for promotions like FREEDOMS, Hard Hit and Dove Pro Wrestling.

A clash between former Team Drift friends headlined the King Of DDT 2nd Round. Shigehiro Irie went over Keisuke Ishii with two Beast Bombers and he survived the Kneel Kick along the way. Ishii wanted to shake Irie’s hand after the match but he got a hug instead.

HARASHIMA outwrestled Yukio Sakagachi to advance to the semi-finals. Sakaguchi cut off the Somato with a Jumping Middle Kick then applied a Sleeper Hold. HARASHIMA fought out of it and locked in a Cross Armbreaker. He changed it into a Modified Sleeper Hold and kept it tight until Sakaguchi lost consciousness. When he came to, Sakaguchi accepted the result and shook HARASHIMA’s hand.

Tetsuya In The Sky With Diamonds continues to give Tetsuya Endo victories, this time putting away KUDO. The big turn in momentum came when KUDO aimed to hit the Diving Double Knee Drop to Endo on the apron but Endo moved. KUDO kicked out of the Swan Dive Firebird Splash but Endo’s new finisher knocked him out of the tournament.

Masahiro Takanashi disguised himself in normal clothes and ambushed Akito from the crowd. When the plan didn’t beat Akito immediately, Takanashi panicked because he exhausted all of his tactics for the match! He thought on the fly and gave Akito a Low Blow followed by a roll up. However Diego was there to tell the ref that Takanashi was cheating. Akito regained positioning and trapped Takanashi in the Scorpion Lock to tap him out.

A draw was held at the end of the show to determine the semi-finals. Akito and Tetsuya Endo drew each other while HARASHIMA got Shigehiro Irie. The semi-finals and final takes place in Korakuen Hall on 25th June.

Konosuke Takeshita no longer has his backup plan. Mike Bailey pinned the KO-D Openweight Champion in a tag match to win his Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Contract. Bailey recovered from a Dragon Suplex to catch Takeshita with a Moonsault Power Slam for the three count. Bailey asked Amon Tsurumi when the next KO-D Title match was scheduled. He was told 2nd July at Shinjuku Village Studio C 106. Bailey said he will defend the contract until that date so he can be the challenger.

Takeshita’s threats for the title didn’t end there. Naomi Yoshimura entered the ring to confront him again. He told the audience the same stories he told Takeshita a few days ago. His family fell apart, he was told to quit school by his teacher and now it turns out a girl named Mari-chan he had a crush on in school turned him down for someone else. Yoshimura blames Takeshita for breaking his family apart and stealing his first love so Yoshimura will cash in his Right To Challenge Contract when the time is right to make it memorable.

3. King Of DDT 2017 – Round 1: Masahiro Takanashi defeated Hirata Collection A.T. with a Cradle (8:02).
4. King Of DDT 2017 – Round 1: KUDO defeated Soma Takao with the Diving Double Knee Drop (8:30).
5. King Of DDT 2017 – Round 1: Tetsuya Endo defeated Mike Bailey with the Tetsuya In The Sky With Diamonds (16:00).
6. Konosuke Takeshita & Diego defeated Kouki Iwasaki & MAO when Diego pinned MAO with the VHS (9:58).
7. King Of DDT 2017 – Round 1: Yukio Sakaguchi defeated Shunma Katsumata with the Right Knee Of God (7:42).
8. King Of DDT 2017 – Round 1: HARASHIMA defeated Kazusada Higuchi with the Somato (11:24).
9. King Of DDT 2017 – Round 1: Keisuke Ishii defeated Danshoku Dino with the Kneel Kick (10:47).
10. King Of DDT 2017 – Round 1: Shigehiro Irie defeated Mad Paulie with the Beast Bomber (11:45).

Today’s show was dominated by Round 1 action for the King Of DDT 2017. Shigehiro Irie avenged his defeat to Mad Paulie from a month ago by beating him in the main event here. It took two Beast Bombers to put the DAMNATION pet away. Irie shook Paulie’s hand after the match.

Keisuke Ishii beat his old buddy Danshoku Dino to advance. Ishii went all out with the finish, hitting a Dangerous Exploder, Fisherman Buster and then the Kneel Kick for the three count. Dino realises he is at the point of his career where he doesn’t have many opportunities left, so today’s defeat tells him that his best opportunity to headline Sumo Hall this year is now gone.

The back and forth rivalry between HARASHIMA and Kazusada Higuchi leaned back towards HARASHIMA’s favour when he won with the Somato. Higuchi blocked the move at first but HARASHIMA put all his strength into the move to put Higuchi down and out.

Yukio Sakaguchi eliminated Shunma Katsumata with a nasty looking Right Knee Of God. Sakaguchi hit the move when Katsumata rebounded off the ropes and leapt into the air for an attack of his own. The Right Knee caught him in mid air and scored the win for Sakaguchi. He promises to knock out HARASHIMA the same way in the next round!

Another rivalry continued in Round 1 with Tetsuya Endo beating Mike Bailey in the longest match of the show. Many flips were had but the end came when Endo chased Bailey up the turnbuckle and gave him the Spanish Fly off the top rope. Endo now calls that move Tetsuya In The Sky With Diamonds.

In non-tournament action, ALL OUT defeated NωA with Diego scoring the pin. Diego explained his recent name change. He heard a good story that if he changed his name then his life would change too. The good atmosphere backstage afterwards was interrupted when Naomi Yoshimura confronted Konosuke Takeshita. For some reason Yoshimura blames Takeshita for all of his problems. Every time Yoshimura lost a sumo bout? Takeshita’s fault. Yoshimura’s family falling apart? Takeshita’s fault. Yoshimura getting expelled from school? Takeshita’s fault. So Yoshimura will use his Right To Challenge Contract to get revenge when Takeshita least expects it.

As much as Soma Takao tried to avoid KUDO’s rapid kicks, he was eventually caught with a Buzzsaw Kick and put away with the Diving Double Knee Drop. KUDO thinks his next round opponent Endo is lying when he says he is not interested in fighting anybody. KUDO wants to win the King Of DDT because he wants to fight Takeshita for the KO-D Openweight Title. Endo should think the same.

Masahiro Takanashi finally got his hands on Hirata Collection A.T. one on one but it took some effort to beat him. Hirata trapped him in a Paradise Lock then took the time to do a model walk with Hiranito Collection A.T. and DJ Nira. When Takanashi was freed Hirata trapped him in the Hirata Lock. But Takanashi countered the move into a Cradle for the flash three count.

The first match of the tournament had Akito defeating Daisuke Sasaki in convincing fashion. Akito countered Sasaki’s Hurricanrana into the Scorpion Lock for the submission victory. Sasaki’s reaction to the loss was to give his DDT Extreme Title belt to Akito and leave ringside without it. It seems that Sasaki is so upset over missing out on the Sumo Hall main event that he no longer cares about being the Extreme Champion. Akito was happy to take the belt with him but Amon Tsurumi took it back before he walked through the curtain.

Antonio Honda mixed up his storytelling today. This time he wondered what the story “Kita No Kuni Kara” would be like if it had John Lennon in it. Nobuhiro Shimatani’s enthusiasm to Body Slam Toru Owashi cost him the match. Owashi was too heavy for him and he simply landed on top of Shimatani for the pin.

The 2nd Round matches are Akito Vs Masahiro Takanashi, KUDO Vs Tetsuya Endo, Yukio Sakaguchi Vs HARASHIMA and Keisuke Ishii Vs Shigehiro Irie. They will take place on 4th June.

7. PREMIUM GIG – I Will Get The DNA Of Junior: Kotaro Suzuki defeated Shunma Katsumata with the Mass Driver (9:50).
8. MAIN GIG – DNA Strongest Decision: Kazusada Higuchi defeated Mike Bailey with the Goten (18:57).

How does that saying go, “If you come at the king, you best not miss?” Well, Mike Bailey didn’t exactly miss but Kazusada Higuchi was there ready and waiting for him with a bang. The main event of DNA’s first show in Korakuen Hall ended when Bailey went for the Shooting Star Double Knee Drop. While he was in the air Higuchi got up to his feet and caught Bailey on the way down with a Lariat. It was such a big hit that nothing could stop Higuchi from hitting the Goten afterwards to win.

The end of the show had Sanshiro Takagi come down to the ring for an announcement. Today Higuchi is graduating from DNA and from tomorrow he will be fully affiliated with DDT! Higuchi thanked Takagi but had one favour to ask in return. He wants to help DNA fill up Korakuen Hall when they return on 4th July so he asked if he could stay affiliated with DNA until then. Takagi accepted the request. Higuchi’s final match as a DNA wrestler takes place on 4th July.

For the last few months in DNA, Shunma Katsumata has bonded with Kotaro Suzuki as both an opponent and a teammate. He got to put everything he learned into one more test with Suzuki but sadly could not beat him. Suzuki countered the Swan Dive X Factor with a Rolling Elbow then hit the Blue Destiny. Katsumata kicked out but it was all over when Suzuki did the Mass Driver. Katsumata wishes he could have done more to win but if he relived the last two months in DNA he would not have changed a thing.

It’s not everyday you get to see Kazushi Sakuraba hit a Plancha but he did one to Kouki Iwasaki. He also twisted Iwasaki in knots but Iwasaki wouldn’t give up. Sakuraba eventually got bored so held Iwasaki’s shoulders down to the match for the three count. Iwasaki was left frustrated by the loss.

From the high school classroom to the wrestling ring, Yuki Ueno got to face his buddy Konosuke Takeshita one on one for the first time. Even though they are the same age the gap in experience is huge and Ueno faced an uphill battle throughout. Takeshita encouraged him to continue but the end result was of no surprise to anyone. What was surprising was Ueno slapping Takeshita’s hand away when he was offered a handshake after the match.

High dives out of the ring was promised in the match between MAO and TAKA Michinoku. MAO delivered with a Spaceman Topé Con Hilo. However a missed Cannonball 450 gave TAKA control of the match and MAO could never get back into it. He kicked out of the Super Kick but ultimately failed to fight off the Cross Facelock. TAKA was impressed with MAO’s dives. He really thought it looked like an alien was flying towards him. He also thinks MAO has the kind of body that can let him become a heavyweight without losing his agility. The match was important for MAO because he is from Tohoku, the home of Michinoku Pro. Plus he was a fan of TAKA when he was a kid.

Dai Suzuki came out with new gear and new music for the big occasion. Now he needs a new chest after Go Shiozaki obliterated it with Machine Gun Chops. A few Lariats and Brainbusters made the five minute match feel like an eternity for poor Suzuki. For the rest of his trial series Suzuki will got through a 4 Vs 1 gauntlet match. However to give him a decent chance to survive the seven minute time limit will apply to the four matches combined. Surely Suzuki can’t lose four times in seven minutes.

Naomi Yoshimura got his hands on a Right To Challenge Contract! He blocked a Tornado DDT from Nobuhiro Shimatani and countered a Cradle into a Power Slam. A painful landing from the Throwaway Power Bomb ended the match. Rekka said Yuji Okabayashi’s Chops hurts so much but he still wants to take them. He hopes to have a singles match with Okabayashi soon.

In a battle of Running Forearms and Elbow Smashes, LEONA came out on top against Mizuki Watase. As much as he tried to tough it out, one clean Elbow Bat put Watase down for the three count. He accepted the result and shook LEONA’s hand afterwards. Today was LEONA’s day but next time, Watase will get his!

DNA returns to Korakuen Hall on 4th July. DNA will also hold their own Beer Garden show in Shinjuku FACE on 5th August. That show is being advertised as the beginning of Chapter 3 for DNA.

7. KO-D Openweight Title: Konosuke Takeshita (c) Vs Tetsuya Endo ended in a Time Limit Draw (60:00).
*V2 for Konosuke Takeshita.

60 minutes wasn’t enough to separate Konosuke Takeshita and Tetsuya Endo. Both threw everything they could at each other. Endo even had some minor help from DAMNATION at times and it still wasn’t enough to win. When Takaeshita was about to give Endo the Cross Arm German Suplex at the 35th minute, Daisuke Sasaki distracted the referee so Endo could Low Blow Takeshita to escape the move. Then outside the ring Mad Paulie positioned himself on his hands and knees on the stage so Endo could Moonsault off of him onto Takeshita. Endo then wound the other end when Takeshita Suplexed him onto the ring apron. The match risked ending in a Double Countout until both the champion and challenger crawled back into the ring at the 19 count. Another Double Countout came close after a strike battle briefly knocked out both wrestlers. Endo hit the Shooting Star Press but Takeshita kicked out of it and clung on to Endo’s legs so he couldn’t climb the turnbuckles again. They both wound up on the top rope and Endo hit the Spanish Fly for a nearfall. Takeshita hit a Dragon Suplex, Lariat and busted out the Last Ride but only got a two count. In the final minutes of the match Takeshita went for the Cross Arm German again but Endo pulled out a Kasadora counter for nearfall. As the last few seconds counted down Endo put Takeshita in the Crippler Crossface but the bell rang to end the match. A draw means Takeshita is still the KO-D Openweight Champion but he wasn’t satisfied by the result. He and Endo had one more staredown that ended with Endo lightly slapping his rival then leaving ringside.

An emotionally drained Amon Tsurumi thanked Takeshita for having a great match. Takeshita petted him on the head and said as long as he is still champion he will keep Korakuen Hall full. The pleasant moment was interrupted when Yoshihiro Takayama strolled down to the ring wearing his Right To Challenge gauntlet. He called Takeshita an awesome champion. He’s impressed. But Takayama said that he is a former GHC, IWGP, NWF and Triple Crown Champion. He collects championships and now he is interested in getting the KO-D Openweight Title! When he said he wasn’t cashing in his title shot right now, Makoto Oishi and Nobuhiro Shimatani appeared at the stage entrance. Both were trying to sneak into the ring and cash in their contracts on an unaware Takeshita. Takayama spotted the two and scared them off. Takeshita asked Takayama when he wants his title match. It will happen in Korakuen Hall on 28th May! Takeshita promised Takayama that he won’t lose the KO-D Title until then and he hopes Takeyama will do the same with his RTC contract. If that wasn’t enough, Akito approached Takayama and provoked Takayama. Akito said when he began wrestling he admired Takayama but now he is just boring. He is also sick of seeing Danshoku Dino’s ass everywhere in DDT. Dino stood up for Takayama and argued with Akito. The result of this is New No Fear’s first KO-D Tag Team Title defence will be against ALL OUT on 21st May in Sapporo. Takeshita ended the show by saying although he did not beat Endo, he will settle that problem another day. Until then he will beat Takayama with a German Suplex that is even higher than the Everest German!

The Lip Lock was the gamechanger in the KO-D Tag Team Titles Match. First Dino used the move stopped Yukio Sakaguchi from doing the top rope Right Knee Of God to Takayama. He then gave Sakaguchi a Spider Superplex so he could adjust his posture into the Hell Gate pose. Masakatsu Funaki fought off Dino afterwards but he was still put in the Lip Lock by Takayama. The sight of the move distracted Sakaguchi long enough for Dino to give the Lip Lock to him. Takayama then grabbed Sakaguchi and pinned him with the Everest German. Takayama foreshadowed his Right To Challenge plans when he told Tsurumi after the match that he was too busy to defend the KO-D Tag Titles on the 28th May Korakuen show. Funaki said he won’t be challenging for the titles again until there are new champions. He figured the only way he and Sakaguchi can beat New No Fear is if they also turn gay which according to them is impossible.

Kazusada Higuchi made a big statement by pinning HARASHIMA to win his RTC contract in the special Worldwide Tag Match. With Shigehiro Irie (who entered the ring wearing a Panda mask as some sort of OI4K shoutout) on his side, the combined power was too much for HARASHIMA and Mike Bailey to handle. Higuchi used his strength to block a Reverse Hurricanrana and instead throw HARASHIMA into the turnbuckles. Irie then hit a Running Cannonball to HARASHIMA out of nowhere which gave Higuchi an easy road to hitting the Doctor Bomb. Higuchi explained afterwards that HARASHIMA is only familiar with the RTC contracts when he was the champion. He doesn’t know what it is like to defend the contracts, which is something Higuchi knows a lot. So that’s how Higuchi could beat HARASHIMA today.

Akito wrestled in new wrestling gear which has some oddly placed exposed sections in the hips area. He also added a Modified Omoplata to his arsenal and it is very effective. Soma Takao quickly tapped out to it.

With a little help from Mad Paulie, Heidi Katrina pinned Saki Akai in their first confrontation. Paulie squashed Akai with a Lariat in the corner while Daisuke Sasaki dove out of the ring onto the rest of Akai’s team. Katrina then dropped Akai with an Oklahoma Stampede and pinned her with a Leg Drop. Katrina say she will fight Akai again anytime, anywhere. Sasaki translated her promo and turned it into a more bunch of insults. Sasaki then claimed that Katrina called him kind, brave and masculine.

When NωA and T2Hide faced off there was a lot on the line. NωA were defending the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles and debuting their brand new song “ωe are the HERO”. T2Hide were fighting to prevent Kazuki Hirata from getting kicked out of Japan. Sanshiro Takagi & Toru Owashi sang Hirata’s entrance music but Hirata hated it because it wasn’t good enough to dance to. Everyone from NωA, T2Hide, the referee and even a bunch of other wrestlers all ganged up to stomp on Hirata for being ungrateful. Hirata summoned his music proper but was then pinned by Makoto Oishi. Hirata lost his RTC contract to Oishi and now he has to be deported from Japan! While he was dealing with this, Oishi was attacked by Danshoku Dino and Royce Isaacs. They broke his arm with Isaacs’ Miracle Ass then fled. When that was over with the rest of the roster said their farewells to Hirata and carried him away from ringside. Takagi ignored Hirata’s protests to congratulate him on his new beginnings. He then told the audience to please look forward to the next chapter of “Dr. Kazuki Hirata’s” adventures.

Before the 5 Way Match took place, Dino and Isaacs sent a warning to the rest of the competitors. Isaacs used his Miracle Ass to split a pair of chopsticks. Then when Ryuichi Sekine walked into the room Dino grabbed his arm and Isaacs broke it with his Miracle Ass. In the match itself Isaacs went on a streak of breaking arms that would make Penta el Zero M jealous. The streak was ended when Antonio Honda grabbed Isaacs’ arm, stuck it under his own shoulder strap and used his chest to pop the arm. He then pinned Isaacs with a Small Package to become the No. 1 Contender for the DDT Extreme Title. Nice guy Honda then popped everyone’s arms back into place after the match.

Yuki Ueno scored his first ever singles win in the dark match, pinning Daiki Shimomura with a Dropkick. Amon Tsurumi congratulated him afterwards.

DDT is creating a brand new set of championships. If you thought a 6-man Tag Team championship is overdoing it then strap yourselves in and make room for the KO-D 10-Man Tag Team Championships! The first champions will be crowned at Sumo Hall on 20th August.

Super Sasadango Machine has recovered from his heart problems and will return to action on 28th May! Sasadango teams with Sanshiro Takagi to face Minoru Suzuki & Rocky Kawamura!

The Street Wrestling match to be held at the Tokyo Dome finally is finally going ahead. On 1st June, Sanshiro Takagi faces Minoru Suzuki and they are free to fight all over the Dome in what is pretty much an Empty Arena match. No fans, no crowds, just the two wrestlers and a cameraman filming the action live for DDT UNIVERSE.

Isami Kodaka will be leaving his job as manager for the Drop Kick Bar in May. Akito is the new manager and he hopes to run a bar that will be full of hospitality for its customers.

6. MAIN GIG – The Main Eventer Of NEXT: Kazusada Higuchi defeated Shunma Katsumata with the Goten (20:28).

In the latest battle to determine who is on top of the DNA mountain, Kazusada Higuchi defeated Shunma Katsumata. Higuchi had to fight off every inch of fight his much smaller opponent threw at him. Katsumata tried to wear him down with a Sleeper Hold in between several Swan Dive attacks. Even a Firebird Splash was done but Higuchi was too tough to be put down. He countered the Swan Dive X Factor with a Big Boot, hit a Lariat, then a big German Suplex and won the match with the Goten. As the winner, Higuchi now faces “Speedball” Mike Bailey in the main event of DNA’s Korakuen Hall debut on 10th May. Higuchi lost to Bailey in the DNA Grand Prix final last October. He will prove he is the strongest in DNA when he finally beats Bailey.

There was more masked shenanigans between Kazushi Sakuraba & Kendo Kashin for their match against Kouki Iwasaki & Mike Bailey. In the opening ceremony the man who was allegedly Kashin wearing a Sakuraba mask had a different body type. Then for the match entrances Sakuraba and Kashin were accompanied by two other masked men. The cornermen interfered by spraying Iwasaki and Bailey in the eyes when the ref was distracted. During the confusion, Kashin took off his own mask and placed it over Iwasaki’s face. He then hit Bailey from behind with a chair and exited the ring. Bailey turned around and thought Iwasaki was Kashin so he attacked him, finishing him off with the Shooting Star Double Knee Drop. Sakuraba then put Bailey in a Sleeper while Kashin pinned Iwasaki for the three count. Iwasaki challenged Sakuraba to a match at Korakuen and it was accepted. Backstage Bailey explained to Iwasaki that he had only seen Kashin’s previous matches on smartphones and the bad video quality meant he couldn’t tell who the real Kashin was supposed to be.

An emotional Mizuki Watase refused to tap out of LEONA’s Figure Four Leg Lock leading to Yukinori Matsui stopping the match for safety reasons and awarding the victory to LEONA & Kotaro Suzuki. Watase crawled over to the microphone and yelled at Matsui for stopping the match because he never gave up. Matsui challenged LEONA to a match at Korakuen to settle their differences. He will not lose to LEONA even if his legs break!

Dai Suzuki tried to ambush Masato Tanaka with a chair before their match began. The plan didn’t work and Tanaka was able to beat him easily in under five minutes. Suzuki was left feeling down over his lack of progress. He was then told his next opponent on 10th May will be Go Shiozaki! Suzuki promises to do his best because he can’t afford to lose the remaining matches in his trial series.

The rookie team of Naomi Yoshimura & Yuki Ueno scored a big win over Shogun Okamoto & Royce Isaacs. Yoshimura’s power has caught Okamoto’s attention. Okamoto felt disgusted that he and Isaacs lost the match. He thinks Isaacs is a wonderful wrestler but doesn’t share the same feelings for Yoshimura. Okamoto wants Yoshimura for a singles match and promises to crush him! Yoshimura looks forward to it and said it will be him crushing Okamoto instead!

Nobuhiro Shimatani successfully defended his Right To Challenge contract by pinning Guanchulo in the opening tag match. Sadly this was Guanchulo’s final match in DNA for the time being. He is returning home to Chile for a while. Rekka says he will continue fighting with Guanchulo in his heart.

*HARASHIMA fails in V4. Konosuke Takeshita becomes the 61st KO-D Openweight Champion!

Welcome to The Future! DDT celebrated 20 years in business by running the main stage of Saitama Super Arena for “JUDGEMENT 2017”. In the main event the torch was passed as the 21 year old Konosuke Takeshita defeated HARASHIMA to become the KO-D Openweight Champion for the second time in his career. The biggest stage called for a major main event and both wrestlers delivered with a 30 minute long clash. HARASHIMA’s neck was targeted early and his title reign was under threat when Takeshita gave him a Vertical Drop Brainbuster on the arena floor. HARASHIMA was left outside to get counted out but he returned on 18. He then turned the tables by avoiding a Dragon Suplex and attacking Takeshita’s knees. The damaged limb would later prevent Takeshita from hitting the German Suplex because HARASHIMA would grab onto them. A Short Range Lariat kept him down for a two count but that only riled HARASHIMA up and made him provoke Takeshita to attack even harder. Takeshita went high risk by placing HARASHIMA on the top turnbuckle. That backfired when HARASHIMA turned it into an Avalanche Reverse Frankensteiner followed by the Somato! Takeshita kicked out at two so HARASHIMA went for the Swan Dive Somato. Takeshita caught him in mid-air but HARASHIMA twisted around for another Reverse Frankensteiner. This time Takeshita blocked it and gave HARASHIMA a Croyt’s Wrath style German Suplex for a nearfall. HARASHIMA took control again and this time gave Takeshita the Yama-ori head drop. With both men completely spent they traded Elbow Smashes until Takeshita punched the champion and followed up with the Bionic Elbow taken from his mentor Antonio Honda. He hit the German Suplex but HARASHIMA was still able to kick out. Finally Takeshita crossed HARASHIMA’s arms together for one more German Suplex and this time the champion was down for the count.

Takeshita thanked HARASHIMA after the match. Takeshita became a pro wrestler because he loves DDT so to be in the main event for the company’s 20th Anniversary means everything to him. He feels the pressure of being the future of this company but he will show everyone why he deserves that title as DDT moves into its 21st year. When the new champion finished the prize ceremony he was approached by Daisuke Sasaki and Tetsuya Endo. Sasaki said he knew Takeshita would beat HARASHIMA then pretended to cry. In truth, he doesn’t care about Takeshita’s accomplishment. DAMNATION will finish him and to prove it his first challenger will be Tetsuya Endo! Takeshita’s former friend said he does not know what the future really is but he’s not interested. In fact, the future he sees now is an eyesore. Takeshita accepted the challenge and they will get their match at Korakuen Hall on 29th April. The show then ended with a curtain call to DDT’s old theme song “Into The Light”. The final scene in the ring had Takeshita and HARASHIMA fist bump and agree to wrestle each other again some day. HARASHIMA went to leave the ring but Takeshita stopped him so they could leave together.

The weapons in the DDT Extreme Title match were provided by a company called Seki-chu and boy did Jun Kasai and Daisuke Sasaki use a lot of them. Tables, ladders, chairs, trash cans, rakes and even a wire mesh fence were used throughout the match. Sasaki came out on top but he had to put his body on the line to do so. Kasai was still alive and kicking after an Avalanche Power Bomb from the ladder through the fence. Even the NOW OR NEVER couldn’t put Kasai away. So Sasaki had to put Kasai on a table and climb up the ladder. With his last words being “I am Charisma!” Sasaki jumped off the ladder and hit a Diving Elbow Drop on Kasai. The table didn’t break but Kasai did and Sasaki became the new Extreme Champion! He threw the belt away, claiming he does not need it. He has words to say to Kasai, many of them that cannot be broadcast on TV but he cannot deny Kasai was at his craziest today. Still, Sasaki won’t conform. He won’t kiss ass. And he definitely won’t get married. “We are DAMNATION! And I am the Charisma, Daisuke Sasaki!”

Saitama Super Arena was taken back to the Romance Of The Three Kingdoms for a special 6-Man Tag promoting the Nobunaga’s Ambition video game. The series produce Kou Shibusawa greeted the audience before the match, telling everyone to enjoy video games and pro wrestling. All the wrestlers took part in their character costumes. Sanshiro Takagi wasted no time in building a castle of chairs in the ring. It was no surprise to anyone that he was thrown into the castle later. Isami Kodaka took out Daisuke Sekimoto with a Topé Suicida. Keiji Muto and Jun Akiyama faced off and had a stalemate when Akiyama hit the Exploder Suplex then Muto immediately fired back with the Shining Wizard. That left Kota Ibushi to give Takagi the Sit Down Last Ride followed by the Phoenix Splash to win the match.

When the segment was over Takagi stayed in the ring for an important announcement. He is happy to see so many people come out to see DDT’s 20th Anniversary. There is nothing left for him to do so he will retire immediately. Even though he is going away he is confident that DDT will grow bigger and bigger without him. He has no regrets even though he had announced a major goal at the 15th Anniversary show in Budokan Hall that never came to pass. He demanded the staff at ringside to give him the 10 bell salute and thanked everyone he could during each ringing of the bell. On the 8th toll he suddenly received a phone call. It turns out there is something left for him to do after all. Suddenly a picture of the Tokyo Dome appeared on the screen. Takagi announced that DDT will hold a Street Wrestling Match inside the Tokyo Dome later this year! Takagi immediately cancelled his plans to retire. There are still dreams and ambitions for DDT to come true!

Masakatsu Funaki & Yukio Sakaguchi overcame an ambush by DAMNATION to keep the KO-D Tag Team Titles over their shoulders. Even though Sakaguchi’s goal for the match was to kill Endo, he instead settled with pinning Shuji Ishikawa to win the match. Not an easy feat at all! Ishikawa blocked the Right Knee Of God the first time so Sakaguchi had to climb the turnbuckles and hit an elevated version of his finisher to put the big dog down. Their victory ceremony was interrupted when Danshoku Dino snuck into the ring and gave the match sponsor a Lip Lock. Dino told Funaki he’s made a lot of enemies over his career but he has never fought a hybrid body like Dino’s, nor has he fought a real Dramatic Dream Team like Danshoku Dino & Yoshihiro Takayama! Dino is here to lay out the challenge. Real No Fear wants the KO-D Tag Team Titles! Funaki realised the match is unavoidable. He and Sakaguchi will fight Real No Fear. But until then the champions will drink.

There is a lot to go through for the next match. A lot! At some point in the show Joey Ryan won the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title. I’ll get into more detail with that later. For now just know that Ryan now had to defend the championship against Danshoku Dino in an Anal Explosion Death Match. But first, Donald Trump appeared for a complete English PowerPoint presentation. Trump revealed that the most powerful person in DDT is not the president Sanshiro Takagi or the KO-D Champion HARASHIMA. It is really the referee Yukinori Matsui! If there is one thing that Matsui hates more than anything else in wrestling it is explicit sexual humour. Do too much of it in front of Matsui and you will get fired. However Dino is the “World’s Strongest Gay Wrestler” and Ryan is the “World’s Strongest Penis Fighter”. Matsui will watch the match backstage so they need to find a way to wrestle explicitly in a way that won’t offend him. Somehow, some way, an Anal Explosion Death Match is acceptable because in this situation “ANAL” stands for “All Nations Anal Love”. If that wasn’t enough, Ryan revealed that Dino’s friend and former Iron Man Champion Ryota Yamazato has been kidnapped by foreign agents. In 20 minute’s time Yamazato’s rear end will be used for the Anal Explosion unless Dino can win the match before then.

The time began to count down and the match was ready to begin. But first the National Anthems of America and Japan had to be played. Additional commentary was provided by Trump and Guanchulo in English, Hoshitango in Spanish and Rekka in Chinese. As the match went on Matsui kept a close eye on the action from backstage. Dino and Ryan fought up the ramp towards the commentary stations. Ryan’s penis flung Dino off the ramp and crashing through the Spanish announce table. Dino was later thrown off the top turnbuckle and he crashed through the Chinese table. The commentators were so mad that they attacked Ryan but he fought them off with his penis. When Dino recovered he gathered the commentators in the ring and placed them on the corner turnbuckles with their backsides exposed. He then overpowered Dino’s penis, getting revenge for the spot that caused all this in the first place. By the time he put the Lip Lock on Ryan, Matsui had seen enough and made his way to the ring. Trump realised the match was in danger of being cancelled so he sprinted backstage. Some of the DNA wrestlers distracted Matsui by treating him like a celebrity, shaking his hand and asking for autographs. Then a mascot blocked his path but Matsui knocked it down with one punch. He then shook its hand. Matsui walked past the women’s locker room and the temptation to peak inside was too much. When it turned out that Cherry was the only person in there Matsui was grossed out and moved on. Finally Trump caught up with Matsui and confronted him. They chopped each other back and forth until they both leaned in closer and closer. Then they kissed. Back in the ring Dino pulled Ryan’s lollipop out of one of the commentator’s backside and he then put it in Ryan’s mouth. That stunned Ryan long enough for Dino to do the Danshoku Driver for the victory. The two congratulated each other after the match and Ryan handed both the Iron Man Title and the bomb button over to Dino. Dino threw the button away and left his buddy Yamazato to get his ass exploded with three firecrackers outside the building. The screen went blank and we’re left with the message “There can be no peace on earth without pro wrestling” along with a picture of Sanshiro Takagi naked. Backstage Dino and Ryan started to act like friends but quickly started fighting again over the Iron Man Title.

Shungo Oyama did well in his debut but ultimately fell to Yoshihiro Takayama. The two locked up and threw punches in a scene that resembled Takayama’s famous fight with Don Frye. The slugfest ended with Takayama pinning Oyama with the Everest German Suplex. Dick Togo respected Oyama’s effort and noticed Oyama respects pro wrestling enough to fear it. KUDO hopes to team with Oyama again if Oyama decides to continue wrestling. Oyama said he felt at home fighting in Saitama Super Arena again.

Miyu Yamashita has caught Meiko Satomura’s attention but she’ll probably wish she hadn’t. Satomura pinned Yamashita to win the women’s match for her team but their interaction did not end there. Yamashita stood up to her from the apron after the match and Satomura’s reaction was to kick her away. In the post-match interview Satomura said she see will never forget what she saw in Yamashita’s eyes today. She’s motivated, that’s for sure. She would like to fight her one on one. Satomura’s partners however she is more friendly with. She felt a sense of unity with Saki Akai and Shoko Nakajima throughout the match. Akai admitted feeling a little of jealous of Yamashita for firing up Satomura. Aja Kong thought Nakajima was okay but small. Cherry was happy to wrestle in front of many fans and she appreciates the women coming together for this show when she previously spent years as the only female wrestler in DDT.

In the match between Shigehiro Irie and Mike Bailey, the Tazzmission proved to be the difference maker. Irie caught Bailey with the submission hold in mid-air and turned it into a Camel Clutch variat to make Speedball tap out. Irie still isn’t finished with his warrior training but at least he got to show everyone in Japan that his trips to America are not going to waste. Irie credited Ohio’s Rockstar Pro Wrestling in particular for his recent improvement. Bailey says Irie is now on the same level as HARASHIMA and Takeshita.

In the 8-Man Tag Match, Yuni found an opportunity to wear the Hirata GO! glasses and start dancing. Kazuki Hirata ruined the moment by knocking Yuni out with a chop to the back of the neck. Hirata put the glasses on and cleared the ring with his dance fighting. But he was then stopped with a Triple Dropkick from Jaguar Yokota, Keisuke Ishii & Masahiro Takanashi. Yuni then pinned Hirata with a Hurricanrana.

The 3 Way Trios match for the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles was a crazy sprint but NωA came out of it with the belts. Yasu Urano countered Kazusada Higuchu’s Power Bomb into a Frankensteiner but Urano was then knocked down by MAO’s Screw Kick. Urano avoided the Firebird Splash from Shunma Katsumata but didn’t see MAO coming with the Cannonball 450. That move won NωA the championship and all three were in tears when they were handed the belts.

Many wrestlers from DDT’s past, some unexpected, came back for the Dramatic Rumble with the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title and King Of Dark Title both on the line. MIKAMI was out first with his ladder. Daichi Kakimoto was a surprise entrant wearing the mask he used in his Union Pro run. Poison Sawada JULIE eliminated loads of people with his snake magic. Unfortunately his endurance is not what it used to be and he fainted from overuse. Gorgeous Matsuno eliminated JULIE by accident when DJ Nira (who was not an official participant) pushed Matsuno on top of JULIE with his umbrella. Mad Paulie eliminated Gota Ihashi which means Ihashi is still the King Of Dark Champion. Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi stood on top of Kotatsu and leapt off it to deliver a super Michinoku Driver II to Yoshihiko. Kotatsu eliminated a few wrestlers with its comfy quilt until Guanchulo decided to wear Kotatsu over him like a backpack. Munenori Sawa was the last surprise entrant. He hit Guanchulo with a Rabbit Punch and Guanchulo fell on top of Kotatsu. That counted as a pin so Guanchulo won the Iron Man Title. Ken Ohka was the final entrant but he and Sawa spent so long singing to his entrance music that Guanchulo eliminated them both to win the Rumble. His celebration was short lived when Yoshihiko dove on top of him from the stage to win the belt. Later on in the show Kotatsu won the title by pinning Yoshihiko backstage. Joey Ryan congratulated Kotatsu then used his penis strength to flip it over and claim the title for himself.

Mil Clown was accidentally unmasked during the Tokyo Joshi Pro dark match. Her mask flew off when Azusa Takaigawa gave her the X Factor. As much as she tried to hide her face, Clown eventually gave up and focused on beating Takigawa with the Magical Merry Go Round followed by the Mil Clutch α. Clown fled the ring as soon as she got her mask back on.

Naomi Yoshimura continues his aggressive streak by winning the DNA dark match for his team.

Kota Umeda was invited to the ring during the opening announcements. He was at the show as Yoshihiko’s handler but informed everyone that his recovery is going well and he will return to the ring this year. The other injured DNA wrestler Suguru Miyatake was supposed to be at the show but had to miss it because of the flu.

Naomichi Marufuji will participate at “RYOGOKU PETER PAN 2017” in Sumo Hall on 20th August.
