Beer Garden Fight 2016

July 26, 2016

DDT’s summer tradition is now in a new home. This year’s Beer Garden week takes place in Shinjuku FACE instead of Shin-Kiba 1st RING. Most of the shows are put together by a different wrestler or group every night. What follows is a whirlwind of beer and creativity with some crazy match ideas and side events.

DDT “BEER GARDEN FIGHT 2016 ~DDT DAY~”, 08/08/2016
Shinjuku FACE

1. KO-D Openweight Title: Konosuke Takeshita (c) Vs Toru Owashi
*Toru Owashi will cash in his Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Contract.

The week is supposed to begin with a KO-D Openweight Title match. This could change if Toru Owashi loses his Right To Challenge contract to someone else before then.

DDT “BEER GARDEN FIGHT 2016 ~SHUTEN-DOJI DAY~”, 09/08/2016
Shinjuku FACE

1. Scary Story That Surrounds Yukio Sakaguchi: Yukio Sakaguchi Vs X
2. Glove Match: Saki Akai Vs Gota Ihashi (Special Referee: KUDO)

Two Beer Garden traditions take place here. First is Hisaya Imabayashi telling a scary ghost story. The other is Gota Ihashi getting punched in the head so many times that it should be registered as a crime. This year might be more pleasant for him since he’s fighting the love of his life Saki Akai.

DDT “BEER GARDEN FIGHT 2016 ~HAPPY MOTELS DAY~”, 10/08/2016
Shinjuku FACE

1. Happy Motels Dinner Show: X Vs X
2. Tuxedo Match: Konosuke Takeshita Vs Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi

Next up Happy Motels will go the classy route. Konosuke Takeshita and Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi wrestling in tuxedos. What could go wrong?

2. Lariat Pro Vs Knee Pro: Keisuke Ishii & Tanomusaku Toba Vs Tomomitsu Matsunaga & Daiki Shimomura
3. Beer Garden Specialty Falls Count Anywhere Match: Super Sasadango Machine Vs X
4. Something By Danshoku Dino: Danshoku Dino Vs X

There is usually one match where there is nothing but Lariats or Jumping Knee Strikes. Danshoku Dino decided to kill two birds with one stone. Meanwhile NωA fights among themselves to determine who is the leader.

DDT “BEER GARDEN FIGHT 2016 ~SMILE SQUASH DAY~”, 11/08/2016
Shinjuku FACE

1. DDT Grand Sumo Tournament Summer Tournament: X Vs X
2. Akito Produce Match: Akito Vs Danshoku Dino

Smile Squash like their sumo tournaments.

DDT “BEER GARDEN FIGHT 2016 ~DAMNATION DAY~”, 12/08/2016

Shinjuku FACE

1. Tokyo Princess Cup – Semi Final: Yuu Vs Akane Miura
2. Tokyo Princess Cup – Semi Final: Shoko Nakajima Vs Hyper Misao

So far nothing is announced for the final day. Since it is the final DDT show before “PETER PAN 2016” expect things to go out of control.

The KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Title tournament kicks off. DAMNATION were intimidating enough when they formed and now they look unstoppable with Tetsuya Endo on their side. Fantastic Memories were formed especially for this tournament but there is now a conflict of interests because Super Sasadango Machine also manages NωA.

4. Chain Match: SAGAT Vs Yusuke Kubo

6. Ryuichi Sekine Vs Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi

In his quest to become the BASARA ace, Ryuichi Sekine refuses to accept Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi as the true winner of Heaven Summit ~Itadaki~. Hiroshi thinks Sekine is just jealous that the greatest “foreign” wrestler in the company won the tournament.

SAGAT demanded his match with Yusuke Kubo to be a Chain Match. The reason for this is important. SAGAT often used a chain on his enemies back when he was part of the King Legion stable in Union. The same stable FUMA was the leader of.

5. Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi & Mike Bailey Vs Daichi Kazato & Tsutomu Oosugi
6. Fluorescent Light IPPON Grand Prix – Final: Winner Of A Block Vs Winner Of B Block

Don’t know how many lighttubes will be used for the Fluorescent Light IPPON Grand Prix tournament. Previous use of lighttubes in Tavern Wrestling have been limited to only one or two getting smashed but that was in a different venue. Shin-Kiba 1st RING might open up the possibility of using more.

Iron Man Update, MC.33 Coming To BASARA, Ganbare Prepares For Korakuen

July 13, 2016

Time for an update on the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title’s tour of America. When we last left the belt it was being held by Ricochet, you know the guy from that gif? No, not the English fella the other one. Yeah him. Since then the title lineage went like this: Brian Metz, Matt Striker, Cheerleader Melissa (by massage), Matt Cross (via too much food), Brian Cage, Joey Ryan, Laura James (as burlesque luchadora Alacrana Plata #2), Buggy Nova (in a proper wrestling match!), Ryan again (not in a proper wrestling match), Scarlett Bordeaux, Rhyno (traded an autograph for the title) and now Robbie E (his win counts as a Ladder Match). Last one is interesting because it’s a TNA guy beating someone who just appeared on an NXT broadcast. So yeah, this championship of all things is now providing the inter-promotional competition some fans have craved for years.

4. Yukihiro Abe Tomodachi-gun Graduation Test: Minoru Fujita Vs Yukihiro Abe
5. Ganpuro Hardcore Tag Match: Ken Ohka & Ai Shimizu Vs Yumehito Imanari & Bambi

Ken Ohka is continuing his hard work to make Ganbare☆Wrestling’s Korakuen Hall debut a success. Ideas include different seating layouts including a reserved seat placed inside the ring for the entire show. Ohka was told this was done recently by Kuishinbo Kamen at Shin-Kiba 1st RING but he is not deterred by that. Ohka has hundreds of ideas like having chairs placed in the arena balconies. He thinks they can fill thousands more people that way.

It seems that Yumehito Imanari and Bambi have sorted out their problems and are willing to team together. Imanari is thrilled by this news. This Hardcore match is put together to show Osaka what Ganpuro is all about. Each wrestler will have a weapon with them for the match. Bambi has her whip and Imanari is bringing a lot of candy.

4. Wrestling & Martial Arts DX: Chikara & Yumehito Imanari Vs Takafumi Ito & Shuichiro Katsumura
5. Is He A True Friend?: Ken Ohka Vs Minoru Fujita

Ohka stormed a Gatoh Move show in Ichigaya earlier this week requesting Emi Sakura to wrestle for Ganpuro in August. Sakura was offended by Ohka’s attitude and turned down the offer. However Sayaka Obihiro took up the offer instead. Ohka wants to make sure Obihiro will be a good enough replacement by putting her in a tryout match at the end of the month.

Mitomi Masayuki is becoming obsessed over Mars Spector. He wants to avenge Shibata’s loss to Spector and is determined to fight him again and again and again until he wins. His stablemate Rainbow Kawamura offered to help. An enemy of Enjo-gun is his enemy too.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “KASUKABE LOVE RIN” Results

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “KASUKABE LOVE RIN”, 09/07/2016
Saitama Kasukabe Hall
162 Fans

1. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 1: Yuka Sakazaki defeated Marika Kobashi with the Osaekomi Backslide (8:59).
2. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 1: Yuu defeated Nodoka Onee-san with the Modified Kesagatame (5:40).
3. Shoko Nakajima & KANNA defeated Reika Saiki & Azusa Takigawa when KANNA pinned Takigawa with the 50$ent (11:58).
4. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 1: Akane Miura defeated Nonoko with the Lariat (6:15).
5. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 1: Hyper Misao defeated Miyu Yamashita with the I Am A Hero (11:05).

The big story coming out of the first round is Hyper Misao beating Miyu Yamashita in a massive upset. At one point during the match Misao was accidentally unmasked when she escaped from a Headlock. To show how serious she took the match, Misao refused to take the mask back and continued to wrestle with her face exposed. She kicked out of the Attitude Adjustment and got the surprise three count with a Diving Cross Body. Misao now faces KANNA in Round 2.

In another upset, Akane Miura defeated her tag team partner and first Tokyo Princess Cup winner Nonoko. The decisive moment of the match was Miura countering the Boinmaker with a Power Slam. A Lariat after that ended the match. Miura’s 2nd Round opponent is Rika Tatsumi.

For the fourth time in their short careers, Yuu and Nodoka Onee-san wrestled each other and for the fourth time Yuu won. Nodoka is upset that she is lagging so far behind in progress from Yuu and that she is constantly losing to her. Yuu faces Azusa Takigawa in Round 2.

Yuka Sakazaki will be against her Fighting Comedians tag partner Shoko Nakajima in the next round. Although she lost, Marika Kobashi thinks she is doing enough training necessary to be good. She thinks she just needs to become stronger.

5. Drop Kick Vs Ebisuko Tavern Entire Surface Of Strife Extra Chapter!: Isami Kodaka & Tetsuya Endo defeated Kazusada Higuchi & Kouki Iwasaki when Endo pinned Iwasaki with the Sky Twister Press (16:53).

The main event included a No Touch rule allowing wrestlers to tag in without making physical contact with their tag partners. Isami Kodaka used hits to his advantage when he ducked a Clothesline from Kouki Iwasaki and then immediately dove out of the ring onto Kazusada Higuchi. Tetsuya Endo then attacked Iwasaki and finished him with the Sky Twister Press. Endo celebrated a successful defence of his Right To Challenge contract with some drinks.

The 3 Way Match began with Shunma Katsumata and Sayaka Obihiro testing each other’s strength with Hand Sumo. Antonio Honda couldn’t participate and began to cry over being left out. Katsumata and Obihiro grabbed each of Honda’s hands so he could be included then both him in the chest. Honda shrugged off the blows and pointed at both of them shouting “You!” He then attacked his opponents with Southern style Jabs. The three traded pinning combinations until Honda got the three count over Katsumata. Obihiro described her first appearance for Tavern Wrestling as a frenzy and a good experience.

Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Dick Togo Return Second Leg! Special Tag Match: Dick Togo & Yasu Urano Vs Kazusada Higuchi & Kouki Iwasaki
2. Shigehiro Irie Send-off Match: Shigehiro Irie & Yukio Sakaguchi Vs HARASHIMA & Keisuke Ishii

Shigehiro Irie’s final DDT match for now involves his closest allies and rivals. He’s teaming with Yukio Sakaguchi because they rarely if not ever wrestled together on the same side. He’s fighting HARASHIMA because he ultimately wants to surpass him. Keisuke Ishii is also there because of their close ties together in Team Drift. They were champions together but now go their separate ways.

As one of the few remaining Right To Challenge holders, Kouki Iwasaki is in a dangerous position going up against a fresh out of retirement Dick Togo.

Dick Togo and Reika Saiki are scheduled to wrestle on the show. Shigehiro Irie will not due to his excursion to America.
