It’s been ten years to the day where Tokyo Joshi Pro held their first exhibition show in TwinBox AKIHABARA. A one night tournament on PPV featuring 19 of TJPW’s regular roster was put together to celebrate the 10th anniversary. Due to the small venue and large amount of matches on the schedule, every match had a 5 minute time limit. The matches that went to a time limit draw in the first three rounds used Rock-Paper-Scissors as a tiebreaker. The rules led to some unlikely upsets like Mahiro Kiryu eliminating both Maki Itoh and Miyu Yamashita. There was also Haruna Neko scoring a rare singles win when she beat Yuki Aino. The semi final and final got rid of the games and instead used 1 Count Pinfalls for any tiebreakers. That only came into effect for the final where Rika Tatsumi pinned Shoko Nakajima, avenging her loss to her on yesterday’s show. In her victory speech, Tatsumi said the history of Tokyo Joshi Pro will continue so please keep your eyes on them!

It will be an empty arena show with all of the matches being held on mats instead of a wrestling ring. The winner of the tournament will receive a luxurious prize. 7. The Past, Present & Future Of Tokyo Joshi Pro Cross On The Mat!: Miyu Yamashita & Mirai Maiumi defeated Rika Tatsumi & Suzume when Yamashita pinned Suzume with the Attitude Adjustment (10:15).

Tokyo Joshi Pro went back to its roots with a return to mat wrestling matches inside TwinBox AKIHABARA. The venue hosted TJPW’s very first event where three trainees including Miyu Yamashita took part in exhibition matches alongside musical performances from idol groups. Today’s show aired on PPV through OPENREC. It begun with Sayuri Namba hosting a talk segment with Yuka Sakazaki and Yuki Kamifuku. Then there were musical performances with Maki Itoh, Rika Tatsumi and the Up Up Girls (Pro Wrestling). In the “crowd” were Hyper Misao and Shin Ultra Shoko waving penlights to the music and cheering the singers on.

The wrestlers gave out comments before the matches. Yamashita worked double duty by being in both the opener and the main event because of some last minute changes. She found it meaningful for her to face the newest TJPW wrestler Arisu Endo in the room where TJPW began. She also brought back her dancing entrance to “Genghis Khan”. Endo Body Slammed Yamashita onto the mat and applied a Camel Clutch. Yamashita powered out of it, put Endo in a Cobra Clutch and pulled her down onto the mat to submit her.

Sena Shiori knew that her match with Misao was really a Handicap Match withShoko also involved. However she still fell for Misao’s trick when she was invited to become a part time superhero only to be attacked with cloak. Shoko passed over a Hyper Ultra Ball but Shiori intercepted it and used it as a weapon herself. Misao was able to recover and win with the Hypami Returns.

Both Itoh and Moka Miyamoto are new to mat wrestling despite the gap in regular wrestling experience between them. Itoh struggled out of the Manjigatame and dropped Miyamoto with a Wrist-Clutch DDT. She then finished her off with a Crab Hold.

Pom Harajuku said she is always at the mercy of The Magical Sugar Rabbits whenever they wrestle so she needed her teamwork with Mahiro Kiryu to be perfect against them. Sakazaki was excited to wrestle on a mat again because that’s a lawless area where you can do anything! They did just that by using the security barrier like a top turnbuckle to do high flying moves off of. Mizuki also used Sakazaki as a stepping stone to do a Flying Cross Body to Kiryu. Sakazaki pinned Harajuku with a Delayed Brainbuster.

Kamifuku noticed that Marika Kobashi’s makeup has been getting darker recently and it makes her look like a demon. She was going to be responsible like an older sister and clean the makeup off of Kobashi’s face. She brought along facewipes and tried to use them but Kobashi fought her off with Chops. Kamifuku removed her own makeup to show her opponent it is okay to show your true appearance but Kobashi still resisted. Kamifuku put her in a Manjigatame and forcefully wiped the makeup off Kobashi’s face, giving her no choice but to give up.

The Up Up Girls called their concert at the start of the show a warm up for their match next. Raku wants everyone to eat sweets which is why she gave Nodoka Tenma a candy necklace when the match began. But it was really a surprise attack to set up the Good Night Express. Tenma would later wrap the candy around her fist to load up her punches. Miu Watanabe used the Giant Swing on Yuki Aino. Raku fought off The Bakuretsu Sisters with the Brain Chop. The match ended when Hikari Noa used her Figur 4 Clutch Hold to pin Haruna Neko. Noa has named the pinning combination the Saigo No Bansan (Last Supper).

Yamashita came back out for the main event. Mirai Maiumi wanted to tag with her to experience the history of TJPW. Tatsumi thought Yamashita was getting carried away by the nostalgia so she wanted to give her a good beating. Yamashita and Tatsumi fought over by the announce table while Maiumi and Suzume kept their wrestling on the mat. Tatsumi missed the Hip Attack and collided with the wall. Miaumi hit her with a Lariat on the rebound. Yamashita countered the Ring A Bell into the Attitude Adjustment on Suzume for the three count.

After the match Yamashita spoke about the first show from 8 years ago. It was just her, KANNA, Chikage Kiba and the referee Daisuke Kiso taking part in matches. Over the years her number of friends increased and she hopes TJPW will continue to grow even bigger.

DDT “THIS IS OUR 9TH NARIMASU PARTY! 2021”, 20/02/2021
Tokyo Narimasu Act Hall

1. Mizuki Watase Vs Yusuke Okada

After Junretsu lost their match yesterday. Mizuki Watase made his feelings clear backstage that Yusuke Okada is not deserving of a spot in DDT. He was excited to see him enter DDT at first but believes he quickly settled into a safe position under Akiyama’s coaching instead of making a name for himself. Okada explains that DDT made him team with Junretsu while Akiyama is recovering but Watase thinks that excuse is not good enough. They will settle their differences in a singles match.

DDT “INTO THE FIGHT 2021”, 28/02/2021
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title: The Young Bucks Autobiography “Killing The Business” (c) Vs X

The Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title was sent back to Japan after a five month stay in the United States. It ended up in AEW where a copy of The Young Bucks autobiography became the most recent champion (my quick review: decent book, needed crazy road stories to make it a must read). The book was shipped over to Japan along with the title belt so DDT did the logical thing and booked it for a title defence next month. Match type and opponent(s) are yet to be determined.

Return To Twin Box, Brookes Produce Show 2, Amateur Vs Outsider

January 26, 2021

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “TJPW PPV SHOW 2 ~STARTING POINT~”, 30/01/2021
Twin Box AKIHABARA

1. The HERO Has Come To Protect The Peace Of Akihabara!: Shin Ultra Shoko & Hyper Misao Vs Sena Shiori & Arisu Endo
2. Yamato Nadeshiko Challenges The Charisma Of A New Era!: Maki Itoh Vs Moka Miyamoto
3. Majirabi Warning For Live Music Venues!: Yuka Sakazaki & Mizuki Vs Pom Harajuku & Mahiro Kiryu
4. Paripi Vs Gal Single Match: Yuki Kamifuku Vs Marika Kobashi
5. Bakuretsu Neko-chan Vs Up Up Girls (Pro Wrestling): Nodoka Tenma, Yuki Aino & Haruna Neko Vs Miu Watanabe, Hikari Noa & Raku
6. The Past, Present & Future Of Tokyo Joshi Pro Cross On The Mat!: Rika Tatsumi & Suzume Vs Miyu Yamashita & Mirai Maiumi

Miyu Yamashita visited Twin Box AKIHABARA during the week to rediscover her memories of the venue when Tokyo Joshi Pro held their first shows their eight years ago. Back then TJPW only consisted of three girls including Yamashita training to be pro wrestlers. This Saturday’s PPV will have 22 women involved. That is a roster over seven times bigger having a show in the same venue! Yamashita thinks it will be good for the rookies like Moka Miyamoto and Sena Shiori to experience mat wrestling. She hopes everyone will feel the history of TJPW in the building as the show goes on.

Yamashita admits she doesn’t remember much about the first show and her memories of those days might be mixed up with the shows that were held in Shibuya DESEO. She didn’t feel uncomfortable wrestling on a padded mat because her training was done on mats too. It only made her excited to wrestling inside a ring as soon as possible. She is more experienced now in fighting outside the ring so she is excited to see what she can do at the PPV this Saturday. The only worry she has is if Yuka Sakazaki does a high flying move from a strange place and accidentally breaks some equipment.

DDT “CHRIS BROOKES PRODUCE SHOW 2 – WRESTLE BUTOKAN★DREAM”, 07/02/2021
Saitama Wrestle Butokan

1. Chris Brookes & Miyu Yamashita Vs Yuki Ueno & Shunma Katsumata
2. Konosuke Takeshita Vs Baliyan Akki
3. ROBOT Vs HERO: Mecha Mummy Vs Hyper Misao

Last year Chris Brookes booked his own little DDT show for a worldwide audience. That went down a treat so he’s doing it again this year! Brookes and his opponent back then Yamashita are this time joining forces to fight Yuki Ueno & Shunma Katsumata from the DDT Sauna Club. A returning Baliyan Akki is coming over from Gatoh Move to challenge Konosuke Takeshita in a first time singles match. Then it’s the blockbuster battle of the summer. Hyper Misao takes on the greatest threat to peace and love yet. It’s the return of the Mecha Mummy! A special talk show with some of the participants will be held after the show so Mr. HAKU will have a busy day ahead of him.

GANBARE☆PRO “OVER THE TOP 2021”, 07/02/2021
Tokyo Itabashi Green Hall

1. GWC 6-Man Tag Team Titles: Katsuzaki Shunosuke, Moehiko Harumisawa & Shu Sakurai (c) Vs Keisuke Ishii, Kouki Iwasaki & HARUKAZE
2. Ganpro Vs Aka Rangers Full-Scale Battle: Ken Ohka & Shota Vs Takashi Sasaki & GENTARO
3. The Strongest Amateur Vs The Strongest Outside Enemy: Shinichiro Tominaga Vs Ikuto Hidaka

Is there anyone from Ganbare☆Pro who can beat Ikuto Hidaka? Maybe it will take a wrestler who isn’t signed to Ganpro to do that. Nobody is prouder of their student wrestling roots than Shinichiro Tominaga. Still, Hidaka is getting used to fighting the Ganpro spirit and senses it coming from his upcoming opponent.

The Aka Rangers of Takashi Sasaki & GENTARO were one of the early tag teams of note in DDT. When Ken Ohka was nothing more than a rookie, he got to second the team to ringside and always wanted to wrestle them. Sadly the opportunity never came. Almost 20 years later Ohka finally gets to achieve his dream and he is bringing in a white hot Shota along for the ride.

Ohka wanted to give a present to celebrate Keisuke Ishii’s birthday the day before the show as well as Kouki Iwasaki’s recent marriage. He offered them a GWC 6-Man Tag Team Titles match against THE HALFEE but they needed a third partner. HARUKAZE also has a birthday that week so she was chosen to complete the team.

BASARA “BASARA 150 ~KINKON ICHIBAN~”, 25/02/2021
Shinjuku FACE

1. Union MAX Title: Takumi Tsukamoto (c) Vs Yasu Urano

The double champion Takumi Tsukamoto is trying to rest whenever he can but the title defences are coming quick and fast. Just under a week after his next BJW Death Match Title defence, Tsukamoto will put the Union MAX Title on the line against an impatient Yasu Urano. The challenger has been acting greedy on the indies lately with demands for instant title matches as well as forcing wagers onto his opponents to make his matches more worthwhile. Tsukamoto accepted his challenge but wanted it for a big show like BASARA’s 150th chapter at Shinjuku FACE.

6. DAMNATION Vs ALL OUT!: Tetsuya Endo & Daisuke Sasaki Vs Konosuke Takeshita & Shunma Katsumata

Due to the state of emergency in Japan effecting areas like Osaka, tomorrow’s DDT show will only have 6 matches instead of 7 so it will not go past the curfew. The card has been shuffled around to adapt with the change in plans.

GANBARE☆PRO “LAST ACTION HERO 2021”, 24/01/2021
Tokyo Itabashi Green Hall

1. Shu Sakurai Trial Tag Match: Keisuke Ishii & Shu Sakurai Vs Kouki Iwasaki & Daisuke Kanehira

4. Age Is Just A Number! 44 Year Old Vs 48 Year Old Full Scale Battle!: Shuichiro Katsumura Vs Ikuto Hidaka
5. Cabellera Contra No Apesta: Shota Vs Yasu Urano

The Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title is no longer with Ganbare☆Pro after Shota lost the championship at a JUST TAP OUT show. His match with Yasu Urano will still go ahead but Urano still wants Shota to defend something so the match has some meaning. An agreement was made that Shota will cut off his hair on the spot if he loses. Urano however does not have to put anything on the line so nothing will happen to him if he loses. Going by that wording, a draw should spare Shota’s locks if that happens again.

Asuka is taking time off to recover from an ankle injury. Ayumi Hayashi from Actwres girl’z takes her place in the trios match.

5. Union MAX Title: Takumi Tsukamoto (c) Vs Yusuke Kubo

An all Kyushu main event sees Takumi Tsukamoto (from Nagasaki) defend the Union MAX Title against Yusuke Kubo (from Kagoshima).

The entire Sento Minzoku quartet teams up for the final time before Ryuichi Sekine goes on a break from wrestling. Fuminori Abe has the right to rename himself Ryuichi Sekine II but respects Sekine too much to do it. Speed Of Sounds are both looking for singles championships to chase after.

Gouma Ryu is now just Gouma after he failed to win the Dragon Contra Dragon match this past week. There’s been no sign of the other participant Trans-Am ★ Ryuji, I mean Trans-Am ★ Ji since the match happened.

5b. Maki Itoh pinned Miyu Yamashita with the Itoh Royal (5:26).
5c. Rika Tatsumi pinned Nodoka Tenma with the Missile Hips (6:03).

Today was the final Tokyo Joshi Pro show of 2020. The big finale was a 2 out of 3 falls 8-Woman Tag Match. On one side was the Princess Of Princess Champion, the Princess Tag Team Champions and the woman who has been with TJPW since day one. On the other side was their Korakuen Hall opponents including the International Princess Champion. In the first fall Maki Itoh immediately called out Miyu Yamashita to start the match with her. The Bakuretsu Sisters took care of Toyo University Tag when Yuki Aino Side Suplexed Yuki Kamifuku and Nodoka Tenma pinned Mahiro Kiryu with the Killswitch to win the fall.

In the 2nd fall, Rika Tatsumi got the hot tag to swing momentum her team’s way. The match went back to Yamashita versus Itoh. Yamashita went for the Crash Rabbit Heat but Itoh countered it into a Crab Hold. Yamashita tried rolling out of it until Itoh crossed her legs in a Cloverleaf position. But instead of going for the Itoh Deluxe, she instead used a Jackknife to pin Yamashita for the three count! The Cloverleaf Jackknife has now been named the Itoh Royal.

The final fall saw Yuka Sakazaki jump in to face Tatsumi. She avoided the White Dragon Sleeper and countered the Twist Of Fate into a Northern Lights Bomb before tagging out to Tenma. Tatsumi got the better of Tenma after all the wrestlers got involved in a scramble. The Toyo University Tag used a Big Boot/Spinebuster combo on Tenma and Tatsumi pinned her with the Missile Hips to win the deciding fall.

Tatsumi credited everyone’s teamwork for their win today and promised to carry the momentum going to Ittenyon. She will turn everything upside down and become the new Princess Title! Sakazaki understands Tatsumi wants to make a fresh start in the new year but Sakazaki hasn’t done enough to make up for all the missed opportunities from this year. She cannot let Tatsumi win the title off her because she still wants to defend it in 2021. She has been through a lot this year but it has not been all negative. This year she established a bond with the audience and she can feel the love from everyone who took the time to come see her wrestle during such a difficult time.

TJPW’s second PPV on OPENREC.tv will take place on 30th January as Twin Box AKIHABARA. That is the venue where the very first TJPW training shows took place before they went into full event production. It will be eight years to the date when the show takes place which is why the PPV name “STARTING POINT” is very fitting. Just like in the old days, matches will happen on a mat instead of a ring and there will be musical performances from an idol group (TBA) before the matches.

1. Sambo Exhibition: Chikage Kiba Vs Daisuke Kiso ended in a Time Limit Draw (3:00).
2. Miyu Yamashita defeated Kanna Shinmei with a Face Kick (3:46).

Tokyo Joshi Pro have declared their first practice event a great success. Trainees Kanna Shinmei, Chikage Kiba and Miyu Yamashita competed in their first contests in public at a small event at an Akihabra concert hall. The show also featured different idol music acts performing before the two matches.

Kanna Shinmei has decided to use KANNA as her ring name and wrestled in a camouflaged top while Yamashita wore a pink bodice and danced her way to the mat where the contests took place. KANNA put on a strong performance and almost won with a Boston Crab but Yamashita fought through the pain and escaped. She then struck KANNA with a Face Kick combination that floored her opponent and kept her down for the pin. Yamashita was in tears of joy after winning the match and encouraged the audience to sing and dance together.

The third trainee Chikage Kiba got to show off her sambo skills in an exhibition against DDT referee Daisuke Kiso. The exhibition only lasted for three minutes but Kiba was able to hold her own, escaping Kiso’s throw attempts and locking in a Cross Armbar at the end. When time ran out, neither competitor was declared the winner.

Each girl gave out comments after the show. Kiba was disappointed her match was so short and looks forward to her first wrestling match. Yamashita was grateful to all the people that attended the show and promised she will do her best not to lose to KANNA the next time they fight. KANNA thanked DDT and Tetsuya Koda for giving her a chance to become a wrestler and also showed gratitude towards Kiba and Yamashita. She joked that she did not like Yamashita when they first met but today she fell in love with her.

Tetsuya Koda said it will be a while until Tokyo Joshi Pro holds its first proper show but noted the trainees are growing quickly as wrestlers. Koda wants to hold more practice events before the girls are ready to officially debut.
