In unfortunate news, MIZUHO “graduated” from Tokyo Joshi Pro during the week. MIZUHO had been absent for most of 2016 when she suffered dizziness during intense training exercises. The source of this problem turned out to be a malfunctioning semicircular canal. She took time off to rest but her condition never recovered. After speaking to her doctor and the Tokyo Joshi staff she decided it was time to end her wrestling career and devote time to treating her condition. MIZUHO apologised to the Tokyo Joshi fans for leaving so suddenly.

4. 3 Way Match: KUDO defeated Tetsuya Endo and Shunma Katsumata when KUDO pinned Katsumata with the Diving Double Knee Drop (8:46).
5. 26cm Height Difference! New Year Special Single Match: Yoshihiro Takayama defeated Makoto Oishi with the Knee Lift (9:26).
6. Oyodo Specialty! I Came Here To Osaka Many Times To Know Its Dialect Special Tag Match: HARASHIMA & Akito defeated Daisuke Sasaki & Mad Paulie by Referee Stoppage when HARASHIMA choked out Sasaki with a Modified Sleeper (16:25).
7. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Masakatsu Funaki & Yukio Sakaguchi defeated Konosuke Takeshita & Mike Bailey (c) when Funaki pinned Bailey with the Hybrid Blaster (14:43).
*Konosuke Takeshita & Mike Bailey fail in V2. Masakatsu Funaki & Yukio Sakaguchi become the 59th KO-D Tag Team Champions.

Looks like Masakatsu Funaki will be sticking around for a while because he is now a KO-D Tag Team Champion! Funaki drilled Mike Bailey’s head into the canvas with the Hybrid Blaster to cause the title change. Yukio Sakaguchi’s victory speech was cut off when HARASHIMA & Akito entered the ring. Akito reminded Sakaguchi that he beat him by submission yesterday. He asked how humiliating must it have been? Sakaguchi tried to brush his comments off but Akito then said that there’s no way the pain he caused to Sakaguchi’s legs have already gone away. Sakaguchi said that liquor is his medicine. He then wanted to know if Akito was here to challenge him. Well there’s no need as Sakaguchi nominated him and HARASHIMA as the No. 1 Contenders anyway. When Smile Squash were sent away, Funaki told a story about meeting Sakaguchi’s father Seiji Sakaguchi at a New Japan training camp when he was around 16 years old. He did not think he would be winning championships with Seiji’s son 32 years later.

HARASHIMA got a measure of revenge on Daisuke Sasaki for yesterday’s sneak attack. After he hit Sasaki with the Somato, HARASHIMA then applied a Sleeper Hold and choked out Sasaki to win. When Sasaki was revived backstage he asked if Candice LeRae saw what happened. Apparently she did. Sasaki then swore he will kill HARASHIMA!

At the start of the show Makoto Oishi had to be encouraged by Amon Tsurumi to have his match with Yoshihiro Takayama. Oishi was intimidated by the massive size difference and the result was never in doubt. Oishi was fighting back the tears as he thanked Takayama for the match backstage afterwards. Takayama tried to cheer him up by saying he showed No Fear.

Yasu Urano will get his AJPW Jr. Title match against Keisuke Ishii on 29th January. He was in such a good mood over this and his win today that he was full of praise for Ishii in his post-match promo. Urano said he would not mind if he had to wait for the title shot but the All Japan office gave their blessing for it to happen on the 29th. Urano promises a fair fight but Ishii doesn’t believe him.

Antonio Honda doesn’t feel bad about his age when he teams with Yuni. Honda’s 39 years old and Yuni is only 8. That makes their average age 23. Honda is now thinking up a team name for themselves.

There was a little bit of tension between Kazuki Hirara and Candice LeRae. Candice complained about Hirata’s dance entrance. However she was happy to dance herself once she put on the Hirata GO! glasses. During the dance Kazusada Higuchi Headbutted Hirata in time with the music. Candice then pinned Hirata with the Balls Plex.

Danshoku Dino Vs Yoshihiro Takayama was booked for Osaka Edion Arena #2 on 4th February.

1. Makoto Oishi, Shunma Katsumata & Ultraman Robin defeated Sanshiro Takagi, Toru Owashi & Kazuki Hirata when Oishi pinned Hirata with the Jikiden Tornado Clutch (7:07).
2. Daisuke Sasaki & Mad Paulie defeated Shinya Ishida & Rekka when Sasaki submitted Rekka with the Cross Facelock (11:17).
3. Keisuke Ishii, Kazusada Higuchi & Yoshihiko defeated Antonio Honda, Guanchulo & Candice LeRae when Yoshihiko pinned Honda with a Back Drop (9:54).
4. 3 Way Tag Match: Akito & Yasu Urano defeated Mike Bailey & Kouki Iwasaki and Yukio Sakaguchi & Masahiro Takanashi when Akito submitted Sakaguchi with a Perfect Figure Four Leg Lock (11:19).
5. Shigehiro Irie, Konosuke Takeshita & Kengo Takai defeated HARASHIMA, Yoshihiro Takayama & Soma Takao when Irie pinned Takao with the Beast Bomber (14:47).
6. KO-D Openweight Title Challenger Decision Tournament – Round 1: KUDO defeated Tetsuya Endo with Three Backspin Kicks (24:00).

KUDO joins Konosuke Takeshita in the final of the KO-D Openweight Title contender tournament. Tetsuya Endo’s chance of beating him was ruined by his surroundings. The ceiling was so low that he hesitated to do the Sky Twister Press from the top rope. That allowed KUDO to recover and trip Endo into a Tree Of Woe position. KUDO hit the Diving Double Knee Drop and then hit another one to the back of Endo’s head when he stood up. KUDO then hit three Backspin Kicks for the victory. Takeshita approached KUDO after the match and offered a handshake. KUDO rejected it by knocking Takeshita’s hand away with his knee.

Today was Shigehiro Irie’s final match in Japan before his next tour of North America. Irie spoke to everyone involved in his match after it ended. He told Soma Takao he still likes him even though they drifted apart after Team Dream Futures split up. Irie was also happy to wrestle with his teacher Kengo Takai again. He wants to repay Takai by growing into a bigger wrestler overseas and returning to DDT better than ever.

Akito scored a huge accomplishment in the 3 Way Tag match by being the first person to submit Yukio Sakaguchi in DDT! He put Sakaguchi in a Figure Four Leg Lock, then grabbed Sakaguchi’s arms and pulled them towards him to apply a “perfect” version of the hold until Sakaguchi submitted. Sakaguchi was furious afterwards and swore revenge. He will never forgive Akito for this and will destroy him as payback!

Candince LeRae said wrestling Yoshihiko felt like a dream. Not as in it was a dream come true, more like she isn’t sure it really happened. She was told beforehand that Yoshihiko is a legend around these parts but she thought a joke was being played on her. For one thing she doesn’t know if Yoshihiko is male or female.

MAO was unavailable so Sanshiro Takagi went ahead and found a temporary replacement and possible new member for NωA. Their music played and out came Ultraman Robin wearing MAO’s entrance gear and badly singing along. Makoto Oishi was insulted but had no choice but to team with Robin when T2Hide attacked them to start the match. Robin got rid of Takagi & Toru Owashi, allowing Oishi to pin Kazuki Hirata with the Tornado Clutch. Despite his good performance, he wasn’t accepted into NωA. Oishi and Shunma Katsumata instead flipped him off and left the ring.

newyear2016

Korakuen Hall spent its final hours of 2016 hosting the annual New Year’s Supershow co-hosted by Big Japan, DDT, K-DOJO, WRESTLE-1 and All Japan. The entire show was built around a Shuffle Tag Team Tournament, mixing most of the wrestlers together into odd pairings. Some teams got along with each other, some didn’t but hey it’s the holidays so let’s just have fun.

newyear2016-a

The opening match saw Yukio Sakaguchi & Daichi Hashimoto barely working together to beat the Brahman Brothers. Even the evil twins suggested that their opponents would have a better chance of winning if they got along. That came back to haunt them when a stop sign attack backfired and Brahman Shu hit Brahman Kei by accident. Hashimoto then drank the Brahman’s black ink and spat it in Kei’s face, leading to the Shining Wizard to finish him off.

newyear2016-b

Kengo Mashimo & Shigehiro Irie beat Naoya Nomura & Kouki Iwasaki. The latter worked well together but they weren’t able to outlast their more experienced opponents. Irie isolated Iwasaki while Mashimo threw Nomura out of the ring. Iwasaki said he felt tense having to wrestle on the final night of the year.

newyear2016-c

The 3rd match ended in a sleazy manner thanks to Joey Ryan and Laura James. Ryan kept trying to make Yuko Miyamoto touch his groin. Referee Frank Atsushi was slammed into the turnbuckles so James ran in to interfere. This somehow led to a situation where Great Kojika was knocked onto his back, James fell down on top of him sitting on his face, Atsushi stood over her holding his groin in pain and Ryan was knocked down head first onto Kojika’s crotch. If that wasn’t enough, a dazed Miyamoto was holding a Samurai! TV camera standing over them like he was filming a porn scene. Miyamoto eventually fell on top of them for the winning pin.

newyear2016-d

The next odd couple team to come along was Yuji Okabayashi & Jiro Kuroshio. Okabayashi had not time for Kuroshio’s antics and just wanted to wrestle. Kuroshio however wanted to know if Okabayashi had a fancy jacket to match his own. He found one and offered it to Okabayashi after they beat Ayato Yoshida & Takuya Nomura but it was refused.

newyear2016-e

Daisuke Sekimoto & HARASHIMA Vs Kazusada Higuchi & Yoshihisa Uto was the first match of the night to end in a Time Limit Draw. From there the match went into sudden death 1 count fall rules. HARASHIMA and Higuchi sprinted to pin each other for just one second but neither could. It took Uto to get the upset pin on Sekimoto to win the match and knock out one-half of last year’s tournament winners in the first round.

newyear2016-f

The pairing of Sanshiro Takagi & Abdullah Kobayashi were going by the team name GET MILD. They both came out dressed in Takayuki Ueki’s old wrestling costumes with a guiding stick poking out of Takagi’s crotch. Everybody including Manabu Soya pulled out a gun during the match and dared each other to a Western showdown. But it was all a trick, Soya & Ueki both rolled over GET MILD when they turned their backs and got the three count.

newyear2016-g

Daisuke Sasaki & Yuki Sato Vs Atsushi Aoki & Kazuki Hashimoto was the next match to go into overtime. It was part of Sasaki & Sato’s plan to waste time by bringing out selfie sticks and playing around with them. Aoki jammed the stick into Sasaki’s groin then tapped out Sato with the Cross Armbreaker.

newyear2016-h

The final first round match featured Danshoku Dino trying to woo his Kaz Hayashi into being his partner in more ways than one. Hayashi eventually reciprocated and revealed he was wearing Danshoku tights under his own. Unfortunately the power of love wasn’t enough to beat Hideyoshi Kamitani & Konosuke Takeshita.

newyear2016-i

Round 2 began with Sakaguchi & Hashimoto on better terms. They needed to be if they wanted to beat Mashimo & Irie. They hit a Penalty Kick/Shining Wizard combo to Irie then Sakaguchi hit the Right Knee Of God for the three count. A handshake at the end cemented that they were now on the right page together.

newyear2016-j

The other disgruntled pairing of the tournament also finally got along. Kuroshio convinced Okabayashi to wear his fancy jacket along with a sun visor with a wig attached to it. He got into the spirit of things and did some Ikemen poses while wrestling. Their match with Yankee Two Kenju went into overtime and sadly the Ikemen dream ended badly. Isami Kodaka caught Kuroshio in a European Clutch for the one count.

newyear2016-k

Ueki had a crazy plan to beat Higuchi & Uto. It involved drinking out of a 1.5 litre bottle of Coca-Cola then tightrope walking across the top rope. What he was supposed to achieve I don’t know but he wound up slipping and crotching himself on the rope. Higuchi then pinned him with the Doctor Bomb.

newyear2016-l

Kamitani & Takeshita were the last team to qualify for the semi-final with a win over Aoki & Hashimoto. Aoki took out Takeshita with a Topé but in the ring Hashimoto was pinned by Kamitani’s Back Drop.

newyear2016awards

With the 2nd Round completed it was time for the 2016 Occupation Of The Indies Awards. Best Newcomer was given to Takuya Nomura from Big Japan. Nomura said he debuted in April and will do his best to meet everyone’s expectations. Best Show went to Ganbare☆Wrestling for “BAD COMMUNICATION 2016” held on 2nd October. Ken Ohka was there to accept the award but had to leave early to participate at “SHOTA AID” in Shin-Kiba later that night. Ohka said he eventually wants to book a show at the Tokyo Dome. Best Unit went to DAMNATION from DDT. Shuji Ishikawa celebrated by singing “Only One Flower In The World” by SMAP. He then got angry at the rest of DAMNATION for not joining in. Best Bout went to the Scaffold G Shock Death Match between Ryuji Ito Vs Kokuro Hoshino from Big Japan’s “RYOGOKUTAN” show on 24th July. Ito wasn’t happy that he lost the match but would take the award as commiseration. Finally the MVP Award went to Shuji Ishikawa. At 41 years old he would like to fight new wrestlers and win new championships.

newyear2016-m

A lottery was held to determine the semi-final match ups. First up was Kamitani & Takeshita Vs Sakaguchi & Hashimoto. Once again Kamitani’s Back Drop was the difference maker. Sakaguchi admitted he misunderstood Hashimoto at first but got to know him throughout the night in their matches. He thinks they will meet again some day.

newyear2016-n

2016 ended and 2017 begun during the Higuchi & Uto Vs Yankee Two Kenju match. Kodaka & Miyamoto both celebrated by diving out of the ring onto their opponents at the stroke of midnight. Uto claimed the first victory of the new year but giving Kodaka a Double Arm Facebuster followed by a Lariat. Miyamoto coped with defeat by grabbing the Samurai! TV camera again.

newyear2016-o

So the final was Kamitani & Takeshita Vs Higuchi & Uto in a Big Japan/DDT Vs DNA/Big Japan final. With no time limit a winner would be determined under normal circumstances. Late in the match Higuchi hit Takeshita with a Lariat but only got a one count. Kamitani blocked Higuchi from doing the Doctor Bomb but Uto got rid of him. That allowed Higuchi to give Takeshita the Goten to pin last year’s co-champion and win the tournament! Higuchi & Uto praised their opponents but they were the strongest tonight. Takeshita said he is the one who will lead DDT and he then stood up to Higuchi. In reply Higuchi said he will not lose. Kamitani said he he will lead the entire pro wrestling landscape. Uto calmed everyone down and encouraged everyone to lead pro wrestling in Japan together. The four congratulated one another and posed for the show ending photographs.

One of the big rivalries in Tokyo Joshi Pro’s history will come back for a special match. Miyu Yamashita has never been able to beat Saki Akai one on one. Akai has shown no interest in having any future plans with Tokyo Joshi so this may be Yamashita’s last chance for now to get that win.

Hyper Misao has enlisted Rika Tatsumi and Minami Momochi to help her latest attempt to protect Tokyo Joshi from evil. It wasn’t long ago when Akane Miura was practising snake magic although she has shown no evil behaviour since returning to normal. Maho Kurone however is pretty much a zombie now. She’s always been acting weird since her debut match but yeah, carrying a severed arm to the ring while her mouth is covered in blood isn’t exactly being subtle. Momochi will be finishing up her role as Tokyo Joshi’s ring announcer at this show so what a way to go, getting involved in this creepy situation.

DAMNATION came away from Saitama with one win and one loss out of two important matches. In the main event Daisuke Sasaki pinned Akito but while this was going on Shuji Ishikawa and HARASHIMA traded Elbow Strikes non-stop outside the ring. This continued after the match ended until they finished with a staredown. Ishikawa warned HARASHIMA not to break down in their KO-D Openweight Title match next month. Ishikawa said he will be the last one standing because he is the biggest and most powerful in the pro wrestling world. HARASHIMA said he will not break no matter what Ishikawa throws at him. He will draw power from all of the 906 votes that won him the DDT Dramatic General Election. Ishikawa was given permission by Daisuke Sasaki to give the show closing speech but Sasaki immediately cut him off. Sasaki said the era of DAMNATION will last forever… until he marries Candice LeRae.

DAMNATION’s defeat on this show was dealt by Happy Motels. When Tetsuya Endo’s name was announced in the ring Konosuke Takeshita immediately charged at his former friend. He then rounded up Endo & Mad Paulie outside the ring for Mike Bailey to dive onto them with a Tope Con Hilo. Paulie recovered and tried to give Bailey the Paulie Buster but it was countered into a Sunset Flip for the flash three count. After the match Takeshita provoked Endo by pointing at his KO-D Tag Team Title belt.

Yukio Sakaguchi showed no hesitation from fighting Yoshihiro Takayama again after he was knocked out by the legend last week. However this time he also had Kazusada Higuchi to contend with and by the end of Match #5 it was Sakaguchi and Higuchi who had to be pulled apart from each other. Higuchi said he will crush Sakaguchi in Osaka.

Rumours spread around before the show that Danshoku Dino currently has a cold. He tried to deny it but said so with a raspy voice during a coughing fit. Tomomitsu Matsunaga called Dino irresponsible for wrestling in this state with Soma Takao and Keisuke Ishii. The two of them have a very important AJPW Jr. Title match in Sumo Hall tomorrow. What if either of them caught Dino’s cold? Dino told both of them to show All Japan what DDT is all about, then asked for a hot match to warm up his cold body. Matsunaga forced Dino to wear a surgical mask but Dino later pulled it off to give Takao the Lip Lock. Ishii won the match by pinning Takao, getting a big motivational boost before their title match. Dino wanted to congratulate Ishii with a hug but he scared Ishii away.

Yasu Urano isn’t impressed with all the talk of cute stuff going on in DDT. Between NωA’s idol antics and the 3rd grader Yuni about to debut soon there is a lot of arguing over who is the cutest. Urano thinks Shigehiro Irie is the cutest because he looks like a baby.

The Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title made its return to DDT for the first time since “RYOGOKU PETER PAN 2016”. Kazuki Hirata eventually won the belt back after infiltrating TV Tokyo and TBS Radio studios to ambush Ryota Yamasato and his friends. Hirata’s triumphant return was cut short when Gota Ihashi flattened him with a Cross Body and won the title. There was then a string of title changes throughout the show with Toru Owashi, Nobuhiro Shimatani and Masahiro Takanashi all briefly becoming champion. Hirata won the belt back from Takanashi by handing him a note written in Thai that said “I give up”. Hirata then ran into Owashi’s Big Boot and was pinned for the final title switch of the show.

ishikawa-harashima-powerbomb

With less than two weeks to go until “OSAKA OCTOPUS 2016” the two headliners faced off in a tag team main event at Korakuen Hall. Shuji Ishikawa teamed with his DAMNATION stablemate Tetsuya Endo while HARASHIMA was paired with Konosuke Takeshita. The end came when Ishikawa caught HARASHIMA during a Double Knee Strike and Power Bombed him outside the ring! Endo avoided Takeshita’s German Suplex and hit a Standing Spanish Fly. Takeshita kicked out of the Torture Rack Bomb but couldn’t survive the Sky Twister Press. After the match, Ishikawa had an important announcement to make. Mad Paulie has a new T-shirt on sale! He said DAMNATION would hold an autograph session after the show but Daisuke Sasaki cut him off with a kick. Ishikawa and Paulie then sang “Happy Birthday” to Sasaki who had turned 31 years old the day before. Sasaki yelled at them to stop but then the crowd joined in. Sasaki shouted “As long as we have DAMNATION there will never be a happy ending!” but the audience drowned him out. Sasaki gave up and mumbled “Thank you”.

takayama-sakaguchi-tko

Yukio Sakaguchi had set his sights on Yoshihiro Takayama. Too bad he didn’t see that Knee Strike coming. Sakaguchi tried what he could from single leg tackles and Ankle Locks to the Right Knee Of God. But when Takayama pulled down his knee pad and smashed his knee into Sakaguchi’s face it was all over. The match ended in a TKO. Takayama described Sakaguchi’s angry performance as energetic and funny. It kind of reminded him of his matches in NOAH against Hideo Itami (Takayama referred to him as Hideo, don’t yell at me for not calling him KENTA in this context). When asked what was the difference between himself and Sakaguchi, Takayama called himself the king and Sakaguchi a commoner. He was even disappointed he didn’t get to pin him with the Everest German.

nowoman-nocry

The DDT Extreme Title match was going to be emotional. Danshoku Dino took on Saki Akai in a No Woman No Cry Match. They would wrestle as normal until they were interrupted by videos of sad stories. If Dino or Akai cried at the videos they would lose. The first sad story was about a dog but neither was upset by it. The next video was footage of Guanchulo’s farewell speech from his first visit to Japan in 2014. Both Dino and Akai struggled but were able to hold back their tears. Dino was about to give Akai the Danshoku Driver when a video of Antonio Honda giving a speech about Dick Togo from “MUSCLE HOUSE 2” played. Dino let go of Akai to stop himself from crying. It was clear that nothing was going to make Dino or Akai cry so the match continued. Dino overpowered Akai with a Brainbuster and then the Danshoku Driver to win the match and keep the title.

kasai-dino-extreme

Dino encouraged Akai to get back up under her own strength. He said it does not matter why Akai wants to be in DDT because she has been part of the DDT family for a long time already. The “Wrestling Mentalist” was done treating her and now wanted to know who he will fight next. Out came Jun Kasai! Dino asked Kasai why he came down to the ring. Kasai said he wasn’t here to see Dino, he was drawn down by the belt. Kasai will challenge Dino for the DDT Extreme Title in Osaka on 4th December!

sasaki-hurricanrana

In another preview of the big Osaka show, Mike Bailey took on Daisuke Sasaki. Bailey has sworn revenge on DAMNATION for losing to them at “RYOGOKU PETER PAN 2016”. Sasaki wound him up even further by rubbing his KO-D Tag Team Title belt over Bailey’s face before the match begun. Mad Paulie got involved by Body Slamming Bailey onto the floor when he was outside the ring. Bailey made it back to the ring at the 18 count. He later hit a Shooting star dive out of the ring, giving Sasaki a near countout of his own. More referee distractions allowed Sasaki to Low Blow Bailey and pin him with the Hurricanrana. Bailey said after the match that Sasaki’s foul play makes their upcoming Tag Title match more serious. Attacking the spirit isn’t good for your health so Bailey is more determined than ever to beat Sasaki with Konosuke Takeshita for that championship.

irie-tazzmission

In Match #3 Antonio Honda danced to “Linda Linda” by THE BLUE HEARTS. Shigehiro Irie continued his winning ways since his return by tapping out Tomomitsu Matsunaga with the Tazzmission. He is now two for two in DDT.

soma-ishii-ajpwpreview

This Monday Soma Takao will defend the AJPW World Jr. Heavyweight Title against Keisuke Ishii in Sumo Hall for All Japan. He sent a loud message today by beating Ishii in a tag team match, pinning him with the Gin And Tonic. Ishii is now feeling rattled by the loss because he thinks the upcoming match will be his last opportunity to win the title.

ironman-crane

Match #1 fell apart when the HIRATA GO! glasses came out and there was duelling music between “TOKYO GO!” and “Never Give Up☆I LOVE YOU”. During this nonsense Kazuki Hirata pinned Makoto Oishi to win the match for T2Hide. Amon Tsurumi approached Hirata in the ring about the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title. He showed a video of Hirata’s ambush on Ryota Yamasato at a TV Tokyo set. There were a string of title changes between TV personalities until Hirata became the champion. He then ran into a camera crane that collapsed on top of him. The camera crane was then declared the champion. Yamasato somehow pinned the camera crane to win back the title. Back in the ring Tsurumi ordered Hirata to ambush Yamasato tomorrow over at the TBS Radio studio and win back the belt.

paulie-avoids-dark

It was a good day for Mad Paulie. Not only did he get a new T-shirt, he also won the dark match so he wasn’t saddled down with the King Of Dark Title. Everything’s coming up Paulie!

sasadango-sakai-health

Super Sasadango Machine gave everyone an update on his condition. He was hospitalised one month ago and found out he is suffering from a mild heart disease. He was operated on twice and needs roughly six months of rehab. His doctor discovered through watching Sasadango’s matches on Youtube that he no longer has the stamina he once had. Sasadango now only has around 50% of his normal motor ability. His rehab involved daily weight training and aerobic exercise. He hoped to be back in time for the 20th Anniversary show in Saitama Super Arena next March but asked the fans to wait a little bit longer. Sasadango then unmasked to turn back into Muscle Sakai so he could talk about “Cultural Pro Wrestling DDT”, the next DDT film he is producing.

sagat-worried

Several BASARA wrestlers were in attendance to promote the brand’s Korakuen Hall debut on Christmas Day. Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi announced a Six-Man Tag Match will happen on the show. All three members of IRON PRIEST will take on Jun Kasai, MIKAMI & Tanomusaku Toba. Afterwards SAGAT whispered into Hiroshi’s ear. He wanted to get the message across that he is nervous to fight against Jun Akiyama on the card but he is still looking forward to the match. Hiroshi instead said that Akiyama better be careful because SAGAT is coming to kick his ass!

6. Crazy Gold Wolves Vs The Emperor Of The Pro Wrestling World: KUDO, Yukio Sakaguchi & Masahiro Takanashi defeated Yoshihiro Takayama, Kazusada Higuchi & Guanchulo when KUDO pinned Guanchulo with the Diving Double Knee Drop (13:46).

Yukio Sakaguchi and Yoshihiro Takayama kept targeting each other during the main event and had to be held apart after the match. As Takayama was being led away from the ring Sakaguchi taunted him for “running away”. Sakaguchi said he will destroy Takayama at Korakuen Hall on 23rd November.

Daisuke Sasaki got on the microphone after DAMNATION defeated Happy Motels. He said he is sick and tired of Happy Motels and Tetsuya Endo thinks the same. That’s why he joined DAMNATION.

This is the first time DDT held a show in Okayama. It was also a homecoming for Tokyo Joshi Pro wrestler Nodoka-oneesan. Even though she lost to Miyu Yamashita, Nodoka was still thankful to wrestle in her hometown and received a lot of streamers for her entrance. She hopes Tokyo Joshi and other companies will come here someday because the area is not familiar with pro wrestling. That way she can always be close to pro wrestling because shows will be closer to her.

Most of the wrestlers wore cute rabbit costumes for the opening introductions. Daisuke Sasaki & Tetsuya Endo refused to do so and didn’t appear until it was time for their match.

Yuko Miyamoto wound up getting into dueling songs with Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi when they wrestled each other. When the main event ended in a time limit draw Makoto Oishi said today was the beginning of a change happening in BOYZ. With young wrestlers like Shunma Katsumata now competing in the main event it feels like there is a big bang occurring in the universe. Oishi thinks its wonderful he gets to see the big bang happening. Everyone then danced to “FANTASTIC BABY” by BIG BANG and “R.Y.U.S.E.I.” by Sandaime J Soul Brothers from Exile Tribe. Everyone that is except for Yukio Sakaguchi who was still embarrassed by having to wear the rabbit costume earlier.

Guanchulo and Lady Beard have named their team IKT, the International Kawaii Team.

The entire show was watched and studied by Shuji Ishikawa so he could pick the No. 1 contender for his KO-D Openweight Title. He wanted to pick someone who is worthy of a title shot and sat in a special area at ringside to watch the show. Throughout the evening Daisuke Sasaki kept saying Nobuhiro Shimatani was a diamond in the rough and deserves a shot. So he made impromptu Ishikawa Vs Shimatani matches whenever he could just as an excuse for Ishikawa to beat up the little guy. Ishikawa quickly beat Shimatani both times and Amon Tsurumi had to stop them from doing it again. At the end of the show everybody gathered together to hear who Ishikawa will pick. Sasaki decided the best way to choose is to have everybody kill each other and the last one left is determined the strongest. So a 24-Man Battle Royal took place and Kazusada Higuchi was the winner. Higuchi admitted Ishikawa is the strongest in DDT but that means if Higuchi wins then he becomes the strongest. The title match takes place at Korakuen Hall on 25th September.

After the main event Sasaki told Konosuke Takeshita that his KO-D Title loss at “RYOGOKU PETER PAN 2016” was an end of an era. He challenged him to face Tetsuya Endo in a match there and then but Tsurumi instead booked it for Osaka on 18th September.

It didn’t take long for Yoshihiro Takayama to make an enemy. His first match as a DDT regular ended in a pull apart brawl with Yukio Sakaguchi. Tension between the two began before their tag team match even began when they stared each other down from across the ring. Takayama and Higuchi overpowered their opponents and gave Kota Umeda a Double Choke Slam before the finish.

Danshoku Dino is taking his new role of Wrestling Mentalist to heart by wearing a doctor’s coat. His current attempts to help Keisuke Ishii seem to be working after they won the 3 Way Tag Match. Ishii is in denial that he is sick. He then listed all the times he lost to Dino in singles matches in great detail. He currently has a 4-match losing streak against Dino. However he worked out in order to beat Dino the match has to be 17 minutes and 41 seconds long. Why? Because that was the match time of Akira Taue’s only Triple Crown win.

Kazuki Hirata is taking his preparations for Soma Takao seriously. He only danced during his entrance and there were no signs of using the HIRATA GO! glasses during their tag match. He only has one thing on his mind and that’s win the AJPW Jr. Title from Takao!

Makoto Oishi briefly mentioned the split between NωA and their manager happened because of “various circumstances”. Oishi said he wants to show that NωA needs the power of everybody to help them make it to “DDT FES 2016”.

Before the dark match took place Danshoku Dino accompanied Super Sasadango Machine to the ring. Dino is taking in Sasadango as his newest patient because he wants to help solve his problem of careless and inappropriate tweeting. Sasadango apologised for his controversial comments about female DDT fans from earlier this week. He proceed to lose the dark match against Hoshitango. Dino wonders is Sasadango now suffers from “The Curse Of The Coin”.
