*V5 for Mr. Bueno.
4. Hideyoshi Kamitani & Daichi Hashimoto defeated Yuya MAOki & Yuji Munagebayashi when Hashimoto pinned Munagebayashi after a Lariat & Leg Sweep Combo (15:26).
The main event this month took on a Big Japan flavour. The first team to enter were Okami, the pair of Hideyoshi Kamitani & Daichi Hashimoto. Then the next person to enter the room was MAO pretending to be Yuya Aoki again. His tag partner was then revealed to be Takayuki Ueki doing a full on Yuji Okabayashi impersonation. He wrestled wearing a bald cap but during the match the cap was ripped off and he was revealed to be bald for real underneath! Okami quickly got over the shocking sight and took “Yuji Munagebayashi” (Munage meaning chest hair) down with a Lariat/Leg Sweep combo to get the win.
Ueki’s change in behavior this month must have weakened the magical powers of Dark King Ueki. It would explain why Ram Kaichow showed up as herself instead of her Princess Ram persona today. It was a good time to be herself because she was fighting Mr. Bueno for the BK-G Openweight Title! Kaichow tried to use Bueno’s kind personality against him when she said a gentleman shouldn’t be using closed fist punches against a woman. Bueno agreed so he intentionally used painful submission holds on her instead. When that didn’t work he put on Mr. Malo’s mask so he would then have no hesitation in punching Kaichow. The challenger was able to pull off the black mask and demanded that Bueno start treating her like a pro wrestler. From that point on the two didn’t hold back against each other. Kaichow was able to knock Bueno down with Lariats and got a nearfall with the Rainmaker. She then did a Cross Body Block from the bar counter but Bueno rolled through to pin her and defend the title.
It’s been a while since Baka Gaijin + Friends was in ARENA Shimokitazawa. In the time since then Antonio Honda was turned evil by Ueki’s Magic Kingdom and transformed into a Goldberg parody named Anton! He had a homemade WCW World Heavyweight Title around his waist and said heelish things like Chris Brookes’s mom is fat. Brookes said he knows Honda inside out and has a way to break Munek’s spell on him. He took out a cream puff and fed it to Anton. Nothing changed and Anton started attacking Brookes to start the match. The “WCW Title” acted as armor for Anton that neither Brookes nor a fan he forced to punch the belt could break through. Anton then injured his knee so Brookes fed him an ice cream but again the spell was still active. Anton was ready to Spear Brookes when Brookes suddenly pulled out a fox puppet and it made it onto Honda’s hand. It was Gongitsune and it’s filthy joke was overpowering the spell! Munek pulled off the puppet and threw it away, causing Anton to turn on him. But Munek used a spell to make Anton hit himself over and over. At this point the spell was broken and Anton was back to his normal self. Brookes rolled him up anyway to win the match.
In the opening match Mr. Malo asked for an extra rule for him and Kota Sekifuda to follow. They would play a game of Daruma-san ga Koronda while wrestling, which is similar to playing Red Light, Green Light. Suzu Suzuki would tell the wrestlers to freeze whenever he wanted and they wrestlers would have to oblige. This caused Malo and Sekifuda to pause in the middle of exchanging holds or while their bodies were in unusual positions. This included when Sekifuda was doing a headstand, while Malo was hanging from the ceiling and when Sekifuda’s snake was brought into the match! Eventually Suzuki called for a freeze while Sekifuda and Malo were cradling each other. Malo’s shoulders were pinned at this point while Sekifuda still had one shoulder up. Daisuke Kiso wasn’t effected by the rule so he counted to three and rewarded the match to Sekifuda. Even though Sekifuda won, he told Malo afterwards he never wanted to do a match like that again.
The next Baka Gaijin + Friends show will be a “Late Halloween” show taking place on 17th November. The next show after that will be on 26th December at Shin-Kiba 1st RING. That one will be the first time Baka Gaijin uses a wrestling ring for one of their shows!

1. Special Single Match: Chris Brookes defeated Yuta Oya by Referee Stoppage with the House Piano Death (10:47).
2. Special Single Match: HARASHIMA defeated Kota Sekifuda with the Somato (15:12).
3. Chie Koishikawa, Mr. Bueno & Mr. Malo defeated Dark King Ueki, Princess Ram & Square Kong (w/ Munek) when Malo pinned Ueki after the Mexico Vacation (16:16).
4. Wasabi Cream Puff Death Match: Antonio Honda Vs Miyu Yamashita ended in a Draw after both of them ate a Wasabi Cream Puff (13:22).
Miyu Yamashita was in for a shock when she made her Baka Gaijin + Friends debut. Antonio Honda told her before the main event they they would fight in the dreaded Wasabi Cream Puff Death Match! After every two count fall, the wrestler who was pinned must eat a random cream puff taken from a pan. If it turns out to be a cream puff filled with wasabi (and everyone will be able to tell very easily by the reaction), the wrestler will lose. The environment reminded Yamashita of her early days as a wrestler fighting in small idol concert venues. So when Honda wound himself up for the Bionic Elbow, Yamashita joined in by doing her old Dschinghis Khan dance (the Berryz Kobo version). After a few close calls, the match unexpectedly ended in a draw when Honda and Yamashita tied each other up in a Backslide Pin and both were pinned. They then each ate a cream puff and immediately fled out of the room in despair because it turned out there was wasabi in both of them!
Even though Munek was unable to wrestle due to injury, he still wanted Ueki’s Magic Kingdom to find a princess and hold them hostage. They were easily stopped by the other team. So Dark King Ueki quickly summoned a new ally, an ape named Square Kong! The newcomer went on a rampage until Mr. Bueno slapped him with his glove over and over. Bueno then made his team form a Gundam with Chie Koishikawa so the Magic Kingdom did the same with Princess Ram on top. The Gundam duel went well for Bueno’s team until Munek cast an invisible carrier for them to walk into. At one point during the match Mr. Malo had his poncho pulled over his head. When it was taken off he had is black mask back on and he started fighting his opponents like a rudo. Meanwhile Ueki & Kong ate bananas to power themselves up during the match, including a star banana that Munek gave to Kong that made him strong enough to pull out a barrel and attack the others with it! Bueno & Koishikawa used the barrel against Kong to wipe him out. The match then reached its end when Bueno & Malo did an assisted Codebreaker double team move called the Mexico Vacation onto Ueki.
In some of Kota Sekifuda’s previous Baka Gaijin appearances he would bring along his pet snake to use in his matches. However yesterday he was booked for an All Japan show and they banned him from bringing his snake along, which meant he wasn’t able to bring the snake over to this show either. It resulted in his match with HARASHIMA being a more serious back and forth with both men chopping each other’s chests red. Sekifuda used an Overhead Kick on HARASHIMA but the roll up afterwards ended up with HARASHIMA getting back to his feet and hitting a short range Somato. He then ran across the room to hit a more traditional Somato for the victory.
The big match of the day was put in the opening bout position. Chris Brookes had wanted to wrestle Yuta Oya after hearing the story of him becoming a pro wrestler despite being completely blind. Given the small space of the venue, Oya was capable of fighting Brookes from close range so his lack of sight was not a detriment. He had Chop exchanges with Brookes and got to slam him onto the floor a few times too. Oya also took some Penalty Kicks before catching one so he could Lariat Brookes for a nearfall. Brookes almost beat him with a Piledriver and had to wrap himself around Oya with the Octopus Hold, pulling him down into the House Piano Death until Daisuke Kiso called for the bell and stopped the match. Brookes told everyone that Oya did not give up just like Oya has not given up in life. Oya said he will be going back to wrestle in Nagoya and he will keep training so he can come back to wrestle in Tokyo again.
At the end of the show Brookes had an announcement to make. Today was Sekifuda’s last appearance in Baka Gaijin + Friends! Sekifuda was confused and asked what did Brookes mean by that? Brookes said Sekifuda has lost all of his matches since coming here and isn’t popular judging by how much merch he sells at shows. Brookes also took offence to Sekifuda acting like he is part of the group by pretending he was gifted a Baka Gaijin hoodie when he really just bought one online! Honda assured Sekifuda that as a freelancer he has the ability to respond to this in his own way. Sekifuda decided he will run his own produced show on 19th June in Itabashi! He then asked if he could book Brookes on the show as a way of thanking him for the Baka Gaijin bookings. Brookes doesn’t want to do it alone so he agreed to it if Honda gets booked too. Sekifuda accepted and already knows what match to book. Brookes & Honda will face Hideyoshi Kamitani & Daichi Hashimoto in a battle between FANTÔMES DRAMATIC and Okami! Brookes was happy with the idea and decided Sekifuda will be allowed back into Baka Gaijin.
The next Baka Gaijin show will take place on 17th March as a joint show with Evil Uno and Mystery Wrestling.

It’s been a while since the last time Isami Kodaka won a BASARA main event so he really wanted everyone to know how happy he was when he won the UWA World Tag Team Titles with Hideyoshi Kamitani. As for Kamitani his schedule is going to get even busier because he now has three championships to defend. Kodaka also feels relieved to have beaten Aijin Tag after he failed to beat them for the titles a month ago. Both Takato Nakano & Masato Kamino are catching up to him but it’s thanks to Kamitani he was able to win today. Nakano is upset because he wanted to defend the titles in several different companies but could only do it twice in BASARA. Kamino is thinking about getting stronger as a singles wrestlrs so he can win tag matches by himself. He is also now aiming to surpass Kamitani.

2. 2 Vs 4 Handicap Match: FUMA & Gouma Ryu defeated Takumi Tsukamoto, Yasu Urano, Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi & KUBITO when Ryu pinned Hiroshi with a Diving Body Press (12:47).
3. Masato Kamino & Yusuke Kodama defeated Isami Kodaka & Ryota Nakatsu when Kamino pinned Kodaka with the Lariat (9:07).
4. Billy Ken Kid defeated Daichi Kazato with a Cradle (12:37).
5. Union MAX Title: Minoru Fujita (c) defeated Masahiro Takanashi with the Modified Samson Clutch (22:21).

It was around four years and eight months ago when Masahiro Takanashi defended the Union MAX Title against Minoru Fujita. It would be the last successful defence of his reign and he would lose the belt a month later by getting injured during his next title match. He never felt like he was beaten for the belt. Fujita meanwhile has been carrying the defeat to Takanashi ever since it happened and wanted the chance to exorcise it. So today’s match was an important title match for both wrestlers. Takanashi can regain the MAX Title and continue from where he was cut off or Fujita beats him properly and avenges his defeat from 2020. Either way Takanashi came to BASARA to finally get some closure.
The match was a bitter fight and Fujita even admitted out loud he waited four years for this. He did the Tombstone Piledriver but Takanashi kicked out of it. Fujita then countered the Takatonic and went for another Tombstone but it was turned into a Cradle for a nearfall. The two wrestlers kept countering Cradle moves on each other until Fujita pinned down Takanashi with the Modified Samson Clutch for the three count. Fujita said he worked really hard for this win which is why he is really happy about it. He and Takanashi now both have one win against each other. Takanashi said they could settle their score with a drinking contest in the ring. The two did just that with Takanashi finishing his drink before Fujita could. Fujita called Takanashi an irreplaceable friend who is always there for him. Also Fujita now has the record for most MAX Title defences in a single reign.
Daichi Kazato tried using a lot of unusual rolling moves to confuse Billy Ken Kid but in the end Kid was able to roll Kazato onto his shoulders and pin him down for the victory.
Even though Isami Kodaka lost to Masato Kamino he asked him for a UWA World Tag Team Titles shot after the match. Kodaka also said Hideyoshi Kamitani will be his partner because they haven’t teamed together in a while. Kamino accepted the challenge for 22nd October and said Aijin Tag won’t lose to a hastily made team.
At the start of the show FUMA and Gouma Ryu started talking about their careers outside of wrestling (hunter and lawyer respectively) and started getting along even though they were supposed to be opponents later. KUBITO then called Ryu a part-time wrestler which Ryu found insulting. FUMA & Ryu both wouldn’t stand for it so they decided to change their 6-Man Tag Match into a Handicap match. The two of them were now teaming up against the other four wrestlers! During the match Ryu kept getting ganged up on by his opponents and FUMA got tired of saving him. FUMA walked out of the match leaving Ryu to fight by himself. Through sheer luck Ryu fought off his opponents and climbed the top rope to hit a big finish on Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi. FUMA then reappeared at the entrance armed with his hunting rifle and he shot Ryu. Ryu ended up falling on top of Hiroshi anyway and scored the pinfall.

Poor Takeshi Masada still isn’t getting much respect despite being one half of the KO-D Tag Team Champions. At the contract signing for this title match ShunMao called CDK their rivals instead of SCHADENFREUDE International and Chris Brookes even agreed with that notion. On the bright side Brookes is advising Masada to wrestle the match in their own unique way. That matters to his development just as much as winning or losing.
Makoto Oishi’s farewell tour brings him over to Yuki Ueno for what could be their last singles match together.
If To-y is still holding his Right To Challenge Shield by the time this show happens then Tetsuya Endo has a big chance to win it and set up another shot at Aoki for the KO-D Title. Akito could also possibly risk his Shield in a match against Kazuki Hirata. Meanwhile Masahiro Takanashi is laying low and hiding away in multi-man tag matches where the risk of directly losing a fall is much much lower.
Ryuichi “Fire” Kawakami is not running away from DDT after losing to Naya. He lost clean to Naya when they finally faced each other in a singles match but they will meet again in an 8-Man Tag Match here.

There was a contract signing held today for Yuki Arai and Moka Miyamoto to promote the International Princess Title match. Miyamoto spoke about always valuing the spirit of harmony and how she incorporates Japanese elements into her wrestling. That is how she created the Korokan move during her first attempt to win the IP Title in 2022. So her goal if she becomes the champion is to spread those feelings across the world. Arai would like to see Miyamoto win the title if the champion was somebody else but she will defend it to the death against her. She also wants to start defending the title overseas, especially if it helps SKE48 with their efforts to grow internationally. If Arai beats Miyamoto then she will hold the record for most IP Title defences with 5 wins. She wants to be proud of her title reign and hopes this match will be memorable for reasons more than just her breaking the record.

On the final day of 2023 DDT, Big Japan and a scoop of the indies all joined together at Korakuen Hall to take part in the annual New Year’s Eve Shuffle Tag Team Tournament. This year was the third year in a row the tournament consisted of 6-Man Tag matches. Every team taking part consisted of a DDT wrestler, a BJW wrestler and a wild card independent wrestler. But before any of the matches began, Samurai TV presented the Japan Indie Grand Prix Awards for 2023. The full results for those can be found at the bottom of this report.
Shuffle 6-Man Tag Tournament – Round 1
Smile Lizard King Kong Vs Lonely Hot College Students
The opening round began with HARASHIMA, Kota Sekifuda & Yuji Hino all joining forces to fight a team that no longer had an accurate team name. Yuya Aoki pulled out sick and had to be replaced with Akira who is not single like Takeshi Masada & Koji Iwamoto are. Although you could still argue he might have been feeling lonely anyway without being near his new friends anyway. They isolated HARASHIMA but Masada could not get the job done. Instead the tables were turned on him and HARASHIMA scored the pin with the Somato.
Team Katagi Returns Vs The Kind People
Style was the name of the game here. Team Katagi Returns all showed up wrestling in sunglasses and flashy shirts looking to boss around their opponents. Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi tried to settle them down with some karaoke, buying Soma Takao & Kazumasa Yoshida some time to regroup. Hiroshi tried it again to distract Kohei Kinoshita but ended up getting pinned with the Blockbuster Hold for his troubles.
Big Bombers Kai Vs Anal Destruction Hidaka
The big draw for this year’s tournament made his appearance in the third match. Minoru Suzuki showed up with no concern that Danshoku Dieno, Daichi Hashimoto & Ikuto Hidaka were all plotting to defeat him one way or another. It didn’t matter because whatever they threw at Suzuki, he just countered it and twisted them into submission holds. The match ended in a time limit draw so it went to 1 Count sudden death rules. Hidaka was convinced to settle himself on the top turnbuckle with his tights pulled down so Dieno & Hashimoto could throw their opponents face first into his rear end. The plan worked until it was Suzuki’s turn. He simply stopped in front of Hidaka and spanked him! Hashimoto then force fed Dieno the wasabi paste but the Lip Lock aimed for Suzuki was sent to Hashimoto instead! Suzuki used the Sleeper Hold on Dieno to squeeze the wasabi out of him until he gave up.
Go For It! The Three Inokori Brothers Vs Bati Bati F’N In The Sky
You can always count on The Brahman Brothers to come into this tournament with their partners already brainwashed into acting like them. It happened here with Hideki Okatani & Yuki Ishikawa. Together their obscene fighting styles left the opponents doubled over in pain due to where the attacks were targeted. However Fuminori Abe was able to trap Brahman Shu in the Manjigatame so his team could escape to the next round with enough of their collective dignity still intact.
Non-Tournament 8-Man Tag Match
There were two matches outside of the tournament. The first of which focused on PROJECT: HAVOC, the unit of wrestlers currently invading Big Japan led by So Daimonji. Facing them were the collective team of mostly young DDT and BJW wrestlers. Despite the best efforts of the combined home team, HAVOC overwhelmed them and won out in the end.

Smile Lizard King Kong Vs Team Katagi Returns
Over to the semi finals now where Smile Lizard King Kong continued to show their combined strength. The normally powerful Kazusada Higuchi & Yasufumi Nakanoue were instead powerless to save Kinoshita from getting flattened with Flying Body Press after Flying Body Press from their opponents, ending with Sekifuda folding him over with the Ironman pin for the 3 count.
Big Bombers Kai Vs Bati Bati F’N In The Sky
The other semi finals treated fans to a couple of important matchups. First was a preview of Tetsuya Endo against Yukio Naya in the D-Oh Grand Prix final happening on 3rd January. The other was Suzuki and Daisuke Sekimoto getting the rare chance to fight each other! Their battle ended in a stalemate because the time ran out. When sudden death began the match scrambled into Hideyoshi Kamitani trying to pin Sekimoto only to get defeated instead with Sekimoto’s Lariat. Endo and Naya had a staredown in the middle of the ring after the match.
Non-Tournament Special 6-Man Tag Match
The second non-tournament match was a straightforward DDT Vs Big Japan 6-Man Tag. Well I say straightforward but the match involved Antonio Honda and Abdullah Kobayashi both getting rope burn between their legs, the DDT team all dancing to “What Does The Fox Say”, then the Big Japan team dancing to “Tokyo GO!” until Takuya Nomura stopped them. But that was only because he wanted to lead the dance and use that power to overpower his opponents. Kobayashi ended up using Honda’s Gongitsune against him and rolled him up with a School Boy to get Big Japan the victory.

Smile Lizard King Kong Vs Bati Bati F’N In The Sky
Sadly the show has not yet returned to running long enough that it reaches up to the clock striking midnight to bring in the new year. But the finalists were still able to take each other on without having to worry about a time limit. Sekimoto and Hino got into a big chop battle while HARASHIMA took out Abe with the Somato. Sekifuda almost pinned Endo with the Ironman but was then flipped upside down with the Tetsuya In the Sky. It was all there for Endo to take it and he finished Sekifuda off with the Burning Star Press, making Bati Bati F’N In The Sky the winners of this year’s tournament!

Most of the wrestlers taking part in this year’s Shuffle 6-Man Tag Tournament got together for the lottery to determine who will team with who. Every trio in the tournament is made up of a DDT wrestler, a Big Japan wrestler and a “Dream Slot” wrestler from a group made up of freelancers and people from other promotions. The wrestlers in attendance all gave comments about the teams they ended up in along with their chances to do well.
Tetsuya Endo remembers teaming up with Daisuke Sekimoto in 2020 but they were eliminated in the semi final. He thinks with Fuminori Abe joining them they have no choice but to win this time. Abe told them he’ll do his best not to hold them back. Their team name is Bati Bati F’N In The Sky.
The big attraction this year is Minoru Suzuki competing in the New Year’s Eve tournament for the first time. He is in the same team as Yukio Naya & Hideyoshi Kamitani who teamed together last year as part of a trio called Big Bombers. So they are all called Big Bombers Kai this time around. Suzuki said if he wins three matches in one night then that means he gets paid for three matches so even thought he is here to have fun, he still wants to win.
In 2018 Kazusada Higuchi & Yasufumi Nakanoue were Team Katagi so for their reunion they get to be Team Katagi Returns! The third member Kohei Kinoshita was not here today so they will see him at the show.
Suzuki already has a target on his back. Or more like lower down below his back. Ikuto Hidaka is taking the Anal power of Danshoku Dieno with the Destructive power of Daichi Hashimoto and merging them together with him in the middle in order to defeat Suzuki’s team! Suzuki however threatened to destroy Hidaka’s anus first. Hashimoto has been on the tournament winning team for the last two years so he wants to make it three in a row.
A more calm energy is flowing through the next trio taking part. Kazumasa Yoshida is happy to be teaming with a bunch of kind people so it only makes sense to call themselves The Kind People. He hopes they can win without being rude. Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi is aiming to prove flexibility can defeat toughness. Chris Brookes is happy he doesn’t have to team with Kota Sekifuda.
I guess Lonely Hot College Students is an accurate name because Yuya Aoki was the only person on that team to show up today. He assured everyone he will hold a strategy meeting with Takeshi Masada & Koji Iwamoto to work out how they will win the tournament.
HARASHIMA & Sekifuda originally decided on calling their team Smile Lizard Gorilla. However when the absent Yuji Hino found out about it he asked them to change it to Smile Lizard King Kong. Sekifuda feels confident the three of them will develop a chemical reaction that will bring them to success.
The final team is made up of the remaining wrestlers who were not picked. That is not always a bad place to be because in 2021 a team called LEFTOVERS made up of the last picked wrestlers ended up winning the whole thing. Will it work out that way for Hideki Okatani, Yuki Ishikawa & The Brahman Brothers? Maybe not. Brahman Shu admitted he has no hopes or dreams over their chances. Ishikawa however wants to behave as wild as he can because it is his first time being with Okatani and the Brahmans.

Here is the match order for Sunday’s big show. There is a public press conference tomorrow featuring the wrestlers involved in the most important matches so there may be a last minute angle or moment done to heat them up a little one last time.
The KO-D Tag Team Titles match being pushed all the way down to the opening bout is odd. Maybe it’s for scheduling reasons regarding some of the wrestlers involved? Everyone in that match are the kind of wrestlers who keep themselves busy on the indies.
