8. KO-D Openweight Title & 1,000,000 Yen Prize Money ~ DDT Special Four Great Singles Match: Daisuke Sasaki (#5) (c) Vs Masahiro Takanashi (#1)

The KO-D Openweight Champion and his challenger have gotten into a war of words over each other’s drinking habits. Masahiro Takanashi heard a story earlier this week about Daisuke Sasaki getting drunk at a restaurant that Takanashi regularly eats at. According to Takanashi, Sasaki ate other people’s food during his stay and fled towards a nearby taxi without paying his bill. After learning of this, Takanashi swears he will not lose to a man who does not know how to handle his drink. Sasaki denies being drunk and refuses to apologise for what went down. The two argued during a press conference while both drinking from the same bottle of sake. Their ramblings included Sasaki asking for a lend of 5,000 yen to get the train home. That somehow led to Takanashi agreeing to put the 1,000,000 yen cash he won from the Dramatic General Election on the line in to go along with the KO-D Title.

Remember Michiaki Nakano? He was the Uchikomi/Souken Holdings advertising director in charge of dealing with DDT for a marketing campaign back in July. He got stuck with Ken Ohka as the star for his adverts. Well the ads did terrible numbers and Mr. Nakano was demoted down to a regular employee as a result. He blames DDT for this so to make it up to him, he’s been invited to watch the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title match between Maki Itoh and Konosuke Takeshita from ringside. Mr. Nakano accepted the offer fully knowing the rules of the Iron Man Title…

Takeshita isn’t distracted by the complete and utter differences between himself and Ito. It’s a wrestling match and when he’s in the ring, Takeshita is a pro wrestler against anyone whether it is men, women, grandparents or children. Takeshita and Ito are both the same age and have the same goal of making pro wrestling an interesting place. His only criticism of Ito is she sticks up her middle finger in the ring too much. Even though Ito did not win the Dramatic Election, she thinks she got the better match with Takeshita instead of Sasaki. She said Takeshita comfortably fits in place as her generational rival. Also if she beats Takeshita then she can absolutely beat Miyu Yamashita on 4th January. Takeshita calls Ito more of a rival to him than Tetsuya Endo because rivals are meant to be people who are doing their best against each other.

Danshoku Dieno regained his memories at the press conference when Akito kissed him. Unfortunately he lost it again when Mr. Nakano felt cold in the room and brought out a heater still in its boxed package. Nakano accidentally dropped the box on Dieno’s head. Akito is due to have a championship match of his choosing for finishing second in the Dramatic Election. However he badly wants to have a match with Dieno first. He won’t be satisfied if Dieno can’t keep his memories together.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “TOKYO JOSHI PRO ’19”, 04/01/2019
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Special Single Match: Meiko Satomura Vs Reika Saiki
2. TOKYO Princess Of Princess Title & Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title: Miyu Yamashita (P/c) Vs Maki Itoh (I/c)

Reika Saiki is preparing for a lot more pro wrestling in her life. She recently graduated from the Cheer1 idol group so she could put more focus on her wrestling career. Now she’s taking on the “Final Boss” of joshi, Meiko Satomura! However, Saiki isn’t looking at this match as a destination. This is going to be a gateway opening up new paths for her. She is prepared to hit Satomura at full force with all of her Pro Wrestling LOVE! Satomura has been keeping an eye on Saiki over the last three years and is impressed by her professionalism. She admits that Saiki might even be too powerful for her to handle so the timing of her attacks will be vital. Satomura’s opinion on this match is a lot different to the one she had with Miyu Yamashita in August 2017. Satomura hasn’t paid a lot of attention to Tokyo Joshi Pro as a whole since then but she knows enough to acknowledge that the group can turn into a dangerous rival for Sendai Girls. Saiki hopes that their match will steal the show from the Yamashita Vs Ito main event.

3. YaroZ Specialty! Heisei Last Glamorous No. 1 Decision Fight!: Yuna Manase Vs Himeka Arita ended in a No Contest when Manase and Arita attacked Yumehito Imanari (8:15). (Special Referee: Yumehito Imanari)
4. Pro Wrestling Round System Match ~Super Dragon Vs Self-Proclaimed Gatekeeper Of DDT~: Tatsuhito Takaiwa defeated Gorgeous Matsuno with the Death Valley Driver (R4 0:53). (Special Ring Girl: Karin Tachibana)
5. YaroZ Specialty! Boob Flag Death Match: Yuna Manase defeated Antonio Honda and Ryuichi Sekine when Manase picked up the flag (11:09).
6. YaroZ Vs Mote Mote Army All Out Fight!: Kazusada Higuchi, Toru Owashi & SAGAT defeated Akito, Makoto Oishi & Yuki Ueno when Higuchi pinned Ueno with the YaroZ Bomber (11:03).

The stories from this show were similar to the ones from previous few YaroZ events. The Mote Mote Army kidnapped the guest idol Karin Tachibana and held her hostage during the main event. The YaroZ team led by Kazusada Higuchi came to the rescue and defeated their enemy to rescue her. The new bit this time involved Makoto Oishi refusing to let go of Tachibana. This led to his wife Misaki Ohata to come out and give him a German Suplex. She ordered Oishi to free Tachibana then attached a leash to him as punishment. The YaroZ invited Tachibana to hang out with them after the show but she turned them down. She has to go shoot a video in Hawaii. Also Akito is more her type. Suddenly Nonoko ran down to the ring. If the YaroZ are looking for a pretty girl to be with, she’s available. None of them gave her a response.

Yuna Manase played a vital role in the Boob Flag Death Match. She had to stand in the corner with a mini flag sticking out of her chest while Antonio Honda and Ryuichi Sekine fought over who could pull it out first. Honda blinded Sekine with the Shining Gongitsune but couldn’t build up the courage to reach towards Manase’s chest. Sekine meanwhile couldn’t see and he walked into Yuki Iino. He grabbed Iino’s chest thinking it was Manase. Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi grabbed the flag from Manase and handed it to Honda but the referee was too distracted to see it. Manase gave a Lariat to both Honda and Sekine. When picked up the flag from the mat, the referee saw it and declared Manase the winner.

Karin Tachibana did the other usual role for idols in YaroZ shows and that’s being the ring girl for the rounds match. She was fully dressed at the start and stripped off an item of clothing after every round. All the wrestlers encouraged the match to go as long as possible but Gorgeous Matsuno was just getting destroyed by Tatsuhito Takaiwa. Referee Yukinori Matsui tried everything he could to keep the match going so Tachibana’s striptease could continue. But when Takaiawa hit the Death Valley Driver, the other referee Yuya Okada ran in and counted three. Matsui was so angry that he wrestled Okada after the match. Tachibana stopped the madness by stripping down to her swimsuit. That was when the Mote Mote Army showed up and kidnapped her. The YaroZ wanted to rescue Tachibana straight away but they all couldn’t move because of their erections from the striptease.

Yumehito Imanari used his referee status to get very close to the action between Yuna Manase and Himeka Arita. He was more interested in getting pervy angles on their wrestling holds rather than calling the match. Manase and Arita got sick of his behaviour and both attacked him. Nonoko also showed up to join in and the match was called off. Nonoko had another reason for showing up today. She wanted to know why Imanari was messing around in DDT instead of achieving his dream of becoming a movie director. Imanari admitted he gave that dream up long ago because he was chasing deadlines every day. Nonoko asked Imanari what he has learned from wrestling. He should know that wrestling matches only end when you give up. Nonoko called Imanari talented with many people supporting him including herself, Manase and Arita. Imanari then had a brainflash. He can make a Charlie’s Angels kind of movie with the three women in front of him! Feeling like himself again, Imanari got the audience to cheer “3, 2, 1, Oppai Oppai!” That caused the women to attack him again.

The Fundoshi match immediately turned into a ringside brawl where both teams were counted out. Everyone agreed to restart the bout as a Scramble Bunkhouse Death Match but they needed a weapon. They decided on using plates of curry because of Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi’s connection to India. Hiroshi accidentally hit Yuki Iino in the face with the curry. Abdullah Kobayashi hit the Bakachinga Elbow on Iino. Sanshiro Takagi then sat on Iino’s face to pin him.

There were plenty of cheers for Gota Ihashi and nothing but boos for Konosuke Takeshita in the opener. That’s what Takeshita gets for being an ikemen wrestler at a YaroZ show. Takeshita rolled away from a Moonsault and gave Ihashi a Brainbuster. He then placed his feet on the ropes for leverage while pinning Ihashi to win the match.

D-King Grand Prix 2019 Schedule… In 2018

November 13, 2018

The D-Ou Grand Prix is back for a second go around. The first tournament held in January earlier this year was a successful concept for DDT. Even though the upcoming edition is labelled as the 2019 tournament, the first show will take place on 30th November and the rest takes place during December 2018. The reason for this is the winner of the D-Ou GP will get a KO-D Openweight Title shot at “JUDGEMENT 2019” on 17th February. If the tournament was to be held in January like the first one then there wouldn’t be much time left to set up and promote the Sumo Hall show coming out of it. The same format of two groups containing seven wrestlers each is being kept. Each block match has a 30 minute time limit, winners get 2 points and draws of any kind are worth 1 point. The final between the two block winners will have no time limit. In the case of a tie for 1st place in one of the blocks then the direct confrontation rule will be used. The results of the group match(es) between the tied wrestlers determines who advances to the final. If that also ends in a tie then a tiebreaker match will be held on the 30th December show before the final takes place.

6. Daisuke Sasaki, Soma Takao & Tetsuya Endo defeated Yukio Sakaguchi, Masahiro Takanashi & Antonio Honda when Sasaki submitted Takanashi with La Mistica Cross Facelock (15:55).
7. MAO Local Triumph! Osaki Specialty Special Tag Match: MAO & Kazusada Higuchi defeated HARASHIMA & Yuki Ueno when MAO pinned Ueno with the Cannonball 450 (20:57).

MAO thanked the “many, many, many, many” fans that came to see the show today. He calls the show a success and next time wants DDT to do an even bigger event in Matsuyama. Other wrestlers from Konosuke Takeshita to Gorgeous Matsuno praised MAO throughout the shot and built him up to be Osaki’s next big star. The mayor of Osaki City was even in attendance to offer his welcome to MAO and DDT.

If Masahiro Takanashi thought he had turned the tables on Daisuke Sasaki after yesterday’s result, he was in for a rude awakening today. Sasaki avoided the Takatonic and used La Mistica to put his opponent into the Cross Facelock for the victory. Sasaki brought up Takanashi’s comments from yesterday only to tell him that he doesn’t remember yesterday so he wasn’t effected by it! Sasaki joked that Takanashi usually wins around three matches a year. Sasaki is fine with being involved in one of those results but he sweats that Takanashi will never beat him ever again! Nobuhiro Shimatani then took the microphone to praise Tetsuya Endo and declare war on Osaki City on behalf of DAMNATION. Sasaki gave Shimatani a Low Blow to shut him up.

Yuki Iino is now at 6 losses in 6 matches for his trial series. He has one more match left but when, where and who it will be against is currently a mystery.

Shunma Katsumata made a request to Kazuki Hirata before their match began. Since the show was in MAO’s hometown, Katsumata wanted Hirata to sing and dance to an NωA song instead of “TOKYO GO!” Hirata agreed and he played MAO’s role in a performance of “Never Give Up☆I LOVE YOU” with Katsumata and Makoto Oishi. Hirata then Clotheslined the both of them when the song ended. Katsumata got his revenge with the ¡Hasta La Vista! and won the match.

Gorgeous Matsuno wanted to sing during Match #2. Makoto Oishi rolled him up during the performance to pin him. Matsuno came back out during intermission and sang again this time without any interruption.

Even though today’s show was in Super Sasadango Machine’s hometown of Niigata, the focus was on Danshoku Dieno trying to get his memory back. Wearing jeans and a grey jumper, Dieno was encouraged by the other wrestlers to go kiss an audience member. Dieno instead just gave the man a friendly hug. He watched the main event and mentioned the atmosphere surrounding it felt familiar. However the match wasn’t exciting enough to keep his attention and DJ Nira came out to tell the others he fell asleep. The Compliance all tried to make the match more exciting but Nira decided to take matters into his own hands and he threw Dieno into the ring. Dieno got his head shoved into Makoto Oishi’s backside in a bid to wake him up. Dieno pointed at the wrestlers and shouted “You!” but denied he was Dieno when asked if he regained his memories. Oishi gave Dieno a Stunner and that seemed to finally work. Dieno took off his clothes revealing his Danshoku gear underneath and he gave Oishi the Danshoku Driver. Antonio Honda then pinned Oishi with the Diving Fist Drop.

Honda & Kazusada Higuchi were rewarded with bags of rice from the local sponsor for winning the main event. Everybody welcomed Dieno back. Oishi called himself the second generation of Danshoku Dieno but really Dieno is the one and only. Oishi wanted to give a bag of rice over to Dieno but somehow he ended up dropping it onto Dieno’s head, knocking him out! When Dieno came to he asked where he was and who he was? He’s lost his memory again! Akito entered the ring concerned about Dieno because they are supposed to have a big match together at Korakuen Hall on 25th November. Akito can’t get the match he wants if Dieno doesn’t remember anything. Sasadango promised him Dieno’s amnesia will be cured by the time the match happens.

Masahiro Takanashi unveiled a new pinning move and successfully used it to beat Daisuke Sasaki. The Laphroaig is set up like a Paradise Lock but instead of rolling the opponent over, Takanashi instead spins himself around and bridges himself over the opponent to pin them while they are still twisted like a knot. The move is named after a scotch whisky. Takanashi made fun of Sasaki over the result. Sasaki’s been calling him the weakest link of Shuten-dōji so how must he feel about losing to him today? How will he feel when the weakest link beats him again to win the KO-D Openweight Title?

HARASHIMA added his concerns over Dieno’s situation and gave his best wishes for Dieno to get his memory back.

8. Pero Pero Master defeated Tiger Mask V (Self-Proclaimed) with the Ultimate Pero Pero Driver (13:26).

Oh, Pero Pero Master is the name of Antonio Honda’s Hulk Hogan parody. He was victorious over Tiger Mask V (Self-Proclaimed) in the main event. Tiger Mask was as graceful as a tiger flying a blimp and was left stunned when he pulled down Pero Pero’s tights and saw he was wearing a thong with an elephant’s head on the front. Pero Pero hit the Ultimate Pero Pero Driver which is a no hands Pedigree for the win. After the match Tiger Mask had his own tights pulled down to reveal he too wears an elephant thong.

Eririn Takagi, Monster Halloween & ONAKIN did well against the veteran team of MEN’S Teioh, HARASHIMA & Shota but it all fell apart in the end. Takagi and Halloween got at each other’s throats while ONAKIN was left alone helpless against Teioh. ONAKIN was given a Back Drop and was trapped in a Cross Facelock to end the match.

For the first time in years the mythical Mecha Mummy came back to this mortal realm for a first time encounter against the man among monsters, Survival Tobita. Mummy was now armed with duel Mach Drills and hadn’t aged a day since his last match… because it’s a robot. Mummy drilled Tobita into submission and the damage was so bad, Tobita had to be stretchered out of the ring. However he still had the strength to spean into the microphone and swear revenge on Mecha Mummy!

The Battle Royal involved 100 flashlights attached to the ropes the same way lighttubes would be for deathmatches. The stipulation was so dangerous that the ring out rule was changed for everyone’s safety. Wrestlers would now get eliminated when they get thrown out over the middle rope as well as the top rope. Also before the match began it was announced that the two invisible wrestlers scheduled to enter the match both died in an unexpected accident so they would not be competing today. The 10 bell salute for them was given while the flashlights were being attached to the ropes. Among the highlights were Paul Ishida using voodoo to eliminate Sanshiro Takagi, Kim Yotchan turning into Kim Yotchan V3 by covering his face in cream, Gundan Hitori & Hen China stretching rubber bands and snapping them into Ishida, Takagi reappearing wearing a skirt made of flashlights, Hitori using the dreaded cola and Mentos combination to eliminate China and the remaining wrestlers all getting eliminated when they left the ring to rave with the fans, leaving a chair all alone in the ring. The chair was declared the winner.

Yumehito Imanari & Mikiya Sasaki entered the ring dressed like the Funk Brothers and used some of their moves to beat Fumihito Kihara & Kentochu Miyahara. Miyahara did a good Kento Miyahara parody but pointed out his one flaw. He carried a replica IWGP Title belt to the ring instead of a Triple Crown belt. He wanted to make a replica Triple Crown but admits it was easier to just buy the IWGP replica and pretend it’s the other one.

Match #2 was actually the third match on the card because Mizuhime Saijo was delayed travelling to the show. She left her phone behind in a taxi and had to go collect it. Hyper Misao pointed out that the distance from Shin-Kiba station to Shin-Kiba 1st RING is only a three minute walk so Saijo didn’t even need to take the taxi in the first place. Saijo used her water gun on Misao, Daisuke Kiso, Yuki Ueno and Yuki Iino. Apparently the water gun is harmless only to those with a beautiful heart. Kiso, Ueno and Iino were all knocked out by it. Misao claimed her heart is beautiful so she willingly got shot and collapsed afterwards. Saijo had Misao pinned but Kiso was unconscious. When he recovered, Misao rolled up Saijo with a School Boy and placed her feet on the ropes for leverage to get the three count.

El Uranai played mind games with Cherry by telling her stuff about life being short and she still isn’t married yet. It worked at first until Uranai made Cherry grab his crotch. Cherry snapped out of it when she realised how “small” Uranai is. She went on the counterattack and pinned the masked man with the Spring Night Love. Cherry not only won the match but now gained the confidence to still be living by herself.

Movie Star used a rubber swimming ring to trap his opponents by the leg and cover them with body blow punches. Everybody else in the match seemed kind of normal by comparison.

The man in charge of today MEN’S Teioh thanked everyone for coming to see the shitshow. The reason these kind of wrestling shows take place is because you can find diamonds in the rough here. “ALL DOIN” was all about bringing together the best of these diamonds to do things that can only be possible in pro wrestling. Teioh then ended the show with a battle cry. “1, 2, 3…4!”

Sanshiro Takagi thinks he may have something in his hands with ALL DOIN as a brand. He thinks the indie scene has been a bit quiet lately with a lot of doubt and cynicism whenever he talks to people about it. He remembers when FMW was considered a super indie. While ALL DOIN is obviously a very different beast, today’s show makes him wonder if something similar can be done on a regular basis today.
