A 3 way grudge has built up between Danshoku Dino, Kenny Omega and Antonio Honda over the DDT Extreme Title. After Dino won the belt from Omega, he had his first defence against Honda. Omega demanded to be added to the match and when he was denied, he interfered in the match attacking both men and ultimately stopped Honda from becoming champion. A Triple Threat match is the solution. Hopefully we get a match stipulation that determines once and for all who should be the champion.

The HARASHIMA Vs Yasu Urano build up continues with UraShimaKudo splitting into two teams for a match.

Drift Appears In All Japan, All Asia Title Challenge!

Team Dream Futures appeared in Korakuen Hall for today’s All Japan show and they came for a reason. Keisuke Ishii, Shigehiro Irie and Soma Takao arrived wearing suits and had prepared a written statement. However, Ishii couldn’t hold his tongue for long and gave up trying to be polite. He instead said what he wanted to say all along. Ishii grew up loving All Japan and was even a trainee in their dojo. But he dropped out and ran away. His wrestling career took a different road in DDT where he became friends with Irie and Soma. Together they grew up and Ishii shared with them his dream of winning an All Japan championship. Now they want that dream to come true. Ishii announced he wants to challenge Kotaro Suzuki & Atsushi Aoki for the All Asia Tag Team Titles. Aoki came out and welcomed the challenge but it has not been officially accepted yet. It looks like Ishii and Irie will be the team representing Drift in the potential title match.

2013 DDT48 General Election

The DDT48 General Election returns for a fourth year. The election allows fans to vote for who will compete at the 20th October Korakuen Hall show. The grand prize for the winner is 1,000,000 Yen and also a KO-D Openweight Title shot for 20/10. If the KO-D Champion (currently HARASHIMA) wins the election, he will get to choose the No. 1 Contender. The rest of the card will be filled with wrestlers who make up the Top 20. Wrestlers who finish between 21st and 24th will compete in a tag team dark match. People are eligable to vote when they buy merchandise at DDT and Union shows, gaining one voting slip for every 3,000 yen they spend. There are actually 49 names on the ballot this year due to Tetsuya Endo being injured. He is currently expected to be cleared to wrestle at 20/10 but the extra entry is there to fill in the gap should he not recover in time. The polls opened at the 24/8 Korakuen show and will end on the 29/9 Korakuen show. Results will be announced at Shin-Kiba 1st RING on 2nd October.

Since that problem is now out of the way, Gouma now has another reason to fight Shiryu. Gouma doubts his opponent is really Chinese and he will use this match as an opportunity to discover what Shiryu’s nationality really is.

Danshoku Dino is the next challenger for Kenny Omega’s DDT Extreme Title. Omega is looking forward to it. In fact, one of his favourite matches from 2011 was a singles match he had against Dino. Kenny even allowed Dino to select what match they will have. Dino tried to say he wanted a Table Match but couldn’t pronounce it in English. Tsurumi Amon thought Dino said T-back and decided the match will be a T-back Table Match. Nobody has a clue what the rules for that match are so Amon will create the rules eventually.

G1 Climax – Block B: Kota Ibushi [8] defeated Hiroyoshi Tenzan [6] by forfeit.
Special 6 Man Tag Match: Kazushi Sakuraba, Akebono & Kota Ibushi defeated Takashi Iizuka, Tomohiro Ishii & YOSHI-HASHI when Sakuraba submitted YOSHI-HASHI with the Sakuraba Lock (13:25).

Kota Ibushi has completed the busiest two weeks of his life and came out of it with a wealth of new opportunities. His first set of matches as a heavyweight in the famous G1 Climax tournament won him plenty of praise as well as a few matches. Ibushi started off as strong as possible, winning his first three matches against Toru Yano, the eventual G1 winner Tetsuya Naito and Karl Anderson. But his run ended there as he lost the next five against Shinsuke Nakamura, Yuji Nagata, Shelton Benjamin, Yujiro Takahashi and Minoru Suzuki. His final match against Hiroyoshi Tenzan was cancelled when Tenzan suffered an injury halfway through the tournament. Instead, Ibushi spent the final night teaming with MMA legend Kazushi Sakuraba and Ribera’s favourite son Akebono, forming possibly the weirdest 3-man team in Japan since the days of WAR. And he probably got a future match against Tomohiro Ishii out of it. Ibushi ended the tournament with 8 points and although he didn’t qualify for the final, he proved he can go with some of the best New Japan has to offer. Next up… Kazuchika Okada!
