1. Yasu Urano & Yuki Ishikawa defeated Ryuichi Sekine & Masato Kamino when Urano pinned Sekine with a School Boy (12:24).
2. Tsutomu Oosugi & Banana Senga defeated SAGAT & Gouma Ryu when Senga pinned Ryu after the Goregrind from SAGAT (10:40).
3. FUMA, KUBITO & Daichi Kazato defeated Isami Kodaka, Takato Nakano & Gaia Hox when Kazato pinned Nakano with a Rocket Punch (12:28).
4. Ryota Nakatsu & Fuminori Abe defeated Takumi Tsukamoto & Judomaster when Nakatsu pinned Judomaster with the V Slider (12:09).
5. Union MAX Title: Minoru Fujita (c) defeated Lil’ Kraken with the Mechakucha-katame (17:23).

Just like what happened at the last BASARA show, pulling off Lil’ Kraken’s mask comes with a big risk. Minoru Fujita unmasked him during the main event and Kraken blinded him with Poison Mist out of self defence. Kraken continued to wrestle unmasked for the rest of the match but was caught in a modified Gokuraku-gatame and had to give up. Fujita was still blinded after the match and had to give his victory speech while being unable to see anything. Daichi Kazato then entered the ring and excitedly challenged Fujita for the Union MAX Title. However Isami Kodaka demanded Kazato face him in a singles match first. Kodaka has his own plans in mind but he will only reveal what it is after he beats Kazato.

The No. 1 Contenders for the IRON FIST Tag Team Titles hit a speed bump on the road to their title shot. One-half of the champions Ryota Nakatsu was able to beat Takumi Tsukamoto & Judomaster while teaming with Fuminori Abe insteado of Kazusada Higuchi. Judomaster seems to remember what the rules of pro wrestling are but now the problem with him is his mask. Nakatsu kept pulling at his mask to block his sight and it eventually paid off with the win.

In Match #2 SAGAT hit Banana Senga with the Goregrind but they landed on top of Gouma Ryu. Since Ryu’s shoulders were pinned to the mat, the referee counted Senga pinning him instead of SAGAT pinning Senga.

The Yuki Ishikawa that fought in the opener is the Big Japan wrestler, not the shoot style fighter. Today was his first match with BASARA.

BASARA “BASARA 244 ~UTAGE~” Results

1. Fuminori Abe defeated Lil’ Kraken with a School Boy (10:11).
2. 3 Way Tag Match: Tsutomu Oosugi & Banana Senga defeated Ryuichi Sekine & Gouma Ryu and Takato Nakano & Yasu Urano when Oosugi pinned Ryu after a Thrust Kick from Senga (9:28).
3. Takumi Tsukamoto, SAGAT & Judomaster Vs FUMA, KUBITO & Daichi Kazato ended in a Draw when Tsukamoto and Kazato pinned each other (12:17).
4. Kazusada Higuchi defeated Isami Kosaka with the Doctor Bomb (13:11).
5. Union MAX Title: Minoru Fujita (c) defeated Masato Kamino with a Modified Inside Cradle (18:04).

Minoru Fujita praised Masato Kamino for being a strong opponent and let him give have time on the microphone after the match. Kamino was disappointed not to win today but reminded Fujita they will face each other again in another title bout this weekend. This time it will be in TTT in a match for the TTT Indie Unified 6-Man Tag Team Titles. Fujita is one of the title holders over there. Then Lil’ Kraken entered the ring and asked Fujita for a Union MAX Title shot. He figured since both Takato Nakano and now Masato Kamino lost to Fujita, he is next in line from their generation to challenge the champion. Fujita didn’t like the idea until he remembered that Kraken beat The Great Sasuke at Korakuen Hall last December. That doesn’t sit right with Fujita because he has never beaten Sasuke one on one. The title match will happen on 30th April.

Isami Kodaka tried targeting Kazusada Higuchi’s right arm during their match. The plan worked for a while but Higuchi was able to tough it out and beat Kodaka clean in a preview of next month’s IRON FIST Tag Team Titles match.

Match #2 ended with everybody piling on top of Gouma Ryu for the pin. Speed Of Sounds were ruled the winners because they were directly on top of him.

2. KUBITO & Yasu Urano defeated Gouma Ryu & Banana Senga when KUBITO submitted Ryu with a Crossface Lock (7:24).
3. Tsutomu Oosugi defeated Daichi Kazato with the Tsuki no Ishi (12:42).
4. Masato Kamino & Chicharito Shoki defeated Takumi Tsukamoto & Judomaster when Kamino pinned Judomaster with the Lariat (14:54).
5. Isami Kodaka, Ryuichi Sekine & Minoru Fujita defeated FUMA, Ryota Nakatsu & Fuminori Abe when Kodaka pinned Nakatsu with a Vertical Drop Brainbuster (18:52).

2024 could be the year Sento Minzoku is back on top of the BASARA mountain. Minoru Fujita is currently the Union MAX Champion and the result of today’s main event could lead to the Iron Fist Tag Team Titles coming back to him too. Isami Kodaka pinned Ryota Nakatsu to win the match and told Fujita he wants the two of them to challenge Harimao for the titles. Nakatsu complained that Fujita shouldn’t have to be Kodaka’s partner and Ryuichi Sekine should do it instead. However he eventually agreed to put the belts on the line against Fujita & Kodaka. Kazusada Higuchi’s next BASARA appearance is on 19th March but Fujita is already defending the Union MAX Title on 19th March on that show. He refuses to wrestle twice, especially if it is in two championship matches back to back. They all think Higuchi will be available to wrestle in BASARA again on 20th April so they will do the title match there unless they got Higuchi’s schedule wrong.

Sekine announced he will be back to wrestling on a regular schedule with BASARA starting from next month. He made it a goal to work his way into becoming a champion again.

Yesterday BASARA reported that Takato Nakano had a fever but tested negative for covid. They decided to pull him from the show as a precaution and brought in Chicharito Shoki to replace him. If that wasn’t enough, it was announced that the love sickness Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi is suffering from has gotten worse so he couldn’t wrestle today either. The masked Judomaster was suspiciously in the venue again to take his place for the second show in a row. He seemed to have a better understanding of pro wrestling this time but still lost to Masato Kamino.

Today is the first time Gouma Ryu wrestled in Takashimadaira Kumin Center for a BASARA show. He thought he was taking part in another Pro Wrestling Trial but Banana Senga forgot to bring his outfit. They held a court session arguing whether or not injuring your opponent in a pro wrestling match should be a crime. They told KUBITO and Yasu Urano to wrestle each other in order to provide evidence. None of their actions injured either of them so the referee/judge declared them Not Guilty. Ryu did not accept the result and convinced Senga to fight the other two. KUBITO & Urano quickly beat them.

Sakazaki helped train Juria Nagano so she can say goodbye to her there. What if Sakazaki wants to get in the ring with Masha Slamovich again? Or maybe she wants to fight Andreza Giant Panda while she still has the chance.

Takato Nakano had his own cheering section led by Kaori Yoneyama, Cherry, Matsuzawa-san and other people related to the YMZ wrestling promotion during the main event. He was able to kick out of the Samson Clutch but Minoru Fujita eventually pinned him with the Modified Tombstone. After the match Masato Kamino challenged Fujita to a title match. Fujita asked if Kamino can drum up the same level of support as Takano did? Are Yoneyama, Cherry or Matsuzawa-san going to come back and cheer him on too? Fujita has never gotten to lead BASARA until now so he wants to fill up Shin-Kiba 1st RING with people no matter if they support him or his challengers. He agreed to the match for next month.

There was a sudden announcement that Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi missed the show due to a bout of love sickness. His replacement was a masked fighter going by the name Judomaster. He was quickly pinned by Ryota Nakatsu and admitted to Takumi Tsukamoto afterward he does not understand the rules of pro wrestling. The two teams agreed to restart the match and this time Judomaster got the hang of things. He lost again though, this time to Isami Kodaka.

The opening match also had to restart a couple of times because Gouma Ryu kept getting pinned quickly. He kept pleading on the microphone to do rematches and got the fans to side with him.

4. Hideyoshi Kamitani & Daichi Hashimoto defeated Takumi Tsukamoto & SAGAT when Kamitani pinned SAGAT with the Back Drop (13:22).
5. Lil’ Kraken defeated The Great Sasuke with the Flying Knee Kick (12:09).

FUMA called Isami Kodaka his biggest wall going all the way back to the days of Union Pro. It is a wall he will always climb until they both retire. FUMA also said he is going to be the ace of BASARA in 2024 so he can make it a bigger organization in the pro wrestling world. Kodaka described FUMA as the competitive type when BASARA has many wrestlers who are playful.

In a close call, Harimao beat Speed Of Sounds to retain the IRON FIST Tag Team Titles. Even though Ryota Nakatsu scored the pinfall, he asked Kazusada Higuchi if they really did win because SOS were so hard to deal with.

The big upset of the day was Lil’ Kraken beating The Great Sasuke! Kraken is a big fan of his and hopes this won’t be the last time they are in the ring together. He won the match but felt there were times when Sasuke outclassed him. Next time Kraken wants to team with Sasuke in order to improve his own weaknesses. Sasuke said he lost in a pro wrestling match so next time he wants to face Kraken in a rap battle!

There wasn’t an upset when Takato Nakano faced Yuko Miyamoto though. Miyamoto won with the Moonsault Press and didn’t stick around to interact with Nakano any further afterwards.

The finish to the 3 Way Match was Masato Kamino putting Leo Isaka in a Camel Clutch while Isaka was applying his own Camel Clutch to Gouma Ryu. The added pressure forced Ryu to give up and since Isaka had the hold on him that meant Isaka was the winner.

2. Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi & Daichi Kazato Vs Gouma Ryu & Banana Senga ended in a No Contest (8:26).
3. 3 Way Match: Tsutomu Oosugi defeated Takato Nakano and Lil’ Kraken when Oosugi pinned Nakano and Kraken with a Gedo Clutch and Inside Cradle (9:38)
4. Isami Kodaka, Minoru Fujita & Masato Kamino defeated FUMA, KUBITO & Fuminori Abe when Kodaka pinned FUMA with a Japanese Leg Roll Clutch Hold (14:24).

The IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT has been won by Ryota Nakatsu & Kazusada Higuchi! The team representing Harimao across both BASARA and DDT had the disadvantage of wrestling twice on today’s show. They first had to beat Yasu Urano & Antonio Honda in the semi final. Then in the main event Harimao took on the fresh team of Takumi Tsukamoto & SAGAT, who skipped past the semi-final stage because of a bye. Harimao fought through the challenge and have come out of it not just as the tournament winners but also as the new IRON FIST Tag Team Champions!

Their championship celebration was interrupted by Banana Senga marching down to the ring shouting “Objection!” over and over. He was about to turn the scene into a pro wrestling trial until his tag partner Tsutomu Oosugi showed up and challenged Harimao for the titles at Korakuen Hall on 3rd December. Nakatsu accepted but Higuchi told Speed Of Sounds there is a DDT show happening that same day as part of the D-Ou Grand Prix tour. However he already checked and he does not have a tournament match scheduled for that show so he can do the title match in BASARA. With that all sorted out Nakatsu & Higuchi went ahead and celebrated their victory with the other members of Harimao, Naomi Yoshimura and Yuki Ishida.

Even though Takato Nakano and Lil’ Kraken both lost the 3 Way Match by getting pinned at the same time, they were given good news to look forward to. Gouma Ryu approached them after the match telling them that BASARA wants the two of them to step up. So they are both getting special singles matches on 3rd December in Korakuen. Nakano is going to face Yuko Miyamoto and Kraken is getting a match against The Great Sasuke! Kraken is really happy with the news because he’s watched videos of Sasuke ever since he was a baby squid.

Match #2 begun with Senga acting like he was taking part in a Pro Wrestling Trial because Ryu was with him. Ryu tried to convince him it was a normal tag team match but Senga ignored him and tried to come up with topical jokes instead of wrestling. Ryu lost his temper and attacked everyone like a wild animal. This caused FUMA to come out armed with his hunting rifle and take aim at Ryu, thinking he had turned into a bear. FUMA shot Ryu, the lights went out and when they came back on the ring was empty. The match was ruled a No Contest.

It was revealed at the start of the show that today’s date is the 18th Anniversary of Gouma Ryu’s debut match.

BASARA “BASARA 234 ~UTAGE~” Results

BASARA “BASARA 234 ~UTAGE~”, 24/10/2023

1. Takato Nakano, Masato Kamino & Tsutomu Oosugi defeated Ryuichi Sekine, Minoru Fujita & KUBITO when Nakano pinned KUBITO with a Cradle (10:02).
2. Turnabout Pro Wrestling Trial: Yasu Urano defeated Gouma Ryu and Banana Senga when Urano pinned Ryu with a School Boy (0:10).
3. IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT – Round 2: Takumi Tsukamoto & SAGAT defeated Lil’ Kraken & Leo Isaka when SAGAT pinned Isaka with the Goregrind (12:50).
4. IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT – Round 2: Ryota Nakatsu & Kazusada Higuchi defeated Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi & Daichi Kazato when Higuchi pinned Kazato (14:58).
5. FUMA Vs Isami Kodaka ended in a Double Knockout (12:29).

The original main event featuring a Union MAX Title defence was cancelled because of Daiki Shimomura’s suspension. Instead FUMA took on Isami Kodaka in a non-title match that was put together on short notice. The match ended in a Double KO when both wrestlers hit their big attacks on each other and neither was able to get back up during the 10 Count. After the match FUMA said he was happy to fight Kodaka and since nobody won he wants to do a rematch at Korakuen Hall on 3rd December, this time with the MAX Title on the line. FUMA wants to become the ace of BASARA and he thinks he needs to beat Kodaka in BASARA’s biggest match to make that dream come true.

The IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT is now down to three teams. Takumi Tsukamoto & SAGAT have reached the final thanks to a bye. They will face the winners of Ryota Nakatsu & Kazusada Higuchi Vs Yasu Urano & Antonio Honda. Both matches take place on 7th November. It was confirmed that Shimomura & Minoru Fujita have vacated the IRON FIST Tag Team Titles and the belts will be awarded to the winners of the tournament.

Nakatsu & Higuchi were accompanied by the rest of Harimao for their match. Naomi Yoshimura & Yuki Ishida stood by their corner in support.

Gouma Ryu did not feel it was appropriate to have a pro wrestling trial on this show. Banana Senga objected because he did not want to be paid just to do nothing. Urano, who was supposed to be the defendant on trial told Ryu it was important to show the fans that BASARA was running their show as usual with everyone doing their best. They all agreed to do a 3 Way Match and Urano immediately pinned Ryu with a School Boy to win. Ryu promised to do a proper pro wrestling trial the next time.

At the start of the show Kodaka and the rest of the BASARA roster all apologized over the private incident that led to Shimomura’s year long suspension. Kodaka told reporters after the show that the event was saved by the fans and their support.

With Speed Of Sounds unexpectedly out of the IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT early the two members are keeping themselves busy doing other things. Banana Senga gets to step back into court for the latest pro wrestling trial with Gouma Ryu. This time it’s Yasu Urano facing charges. Elsewhere Tsutomu Oosugi is teaming up with Aijin Tag who also experienced a shock early exit in the tournament.

She makes one more appearance next month to fight in their ring one last time. She reunites with Takumi Iroha for the special match against the home team of YuuRI & Yoshiko Hasegawa.

How will Riara’s cabaret skills work against Ram Kaichow? Ram has probably been in the room for more seedy stuff throughout her entire wrestling career than Riara did as a hostess!

1. KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles Tournament: X, X & X Vs X, X & X

It’s been confirmed that after this past weekend’s successful defence, Eruption will relinquish the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles on 12th November, the day Akai has her retirement match. Until then Eruption will still be recognized as champions but they have no more title defences scheduled nor are they required to take any more. The AJPW TV 6-Man Tag Team Titles are a separate matter and they are defending those belts in All Japan this weekend.

DDT’s plan for the championship after this is to hold a 1 day tournament a few days later to crown new champions. Teams and other tournament details are currently being decided on.

IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT 2023

The IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT is back for the first time since 2020. It is also going to be the first time the reigning IRON FIST Tag Team Champions will be competing in the tournament. The 2020 tournament was held to determine the No. 1 Contenders and the 2019 edition was to crown the first champions. Every playoff match has a 30 minute time limit except for the final which has no time limit. If a match ends in a draw then both teams are eliminated. The teams taking part are:
